Alright, I have been a long eating fan of BubbaQue's. We always have gotten pulled pork dinners in some way, shape or form. We have tried other plates, but the pulled pork is what hits the nail on the head at this specific establishment. We used to eat at the one in Chiefland FL, due to it being closer to where we lived at the time. I would not recommend that BubbaQues's for multiple reasons. This BubbaQue's in Jonesville is by far the best one we have eaten at. I usually get the redneck nachos and my wife will get one of the pulled pork dinners. It isn't the best BBQ available in the area, but it will surely satisfy your BBQ craving if you want pulled pork. The dishes are quickly prepared and there is always more food than we can finish. Great, fresh tasting sides as well. They also have plenty of sauces to choose from and the staff are very friendly, prompt to fill up your drinks and help you enjoy your meal anyway that you can. The reason for the 4 star review, is due to the food being slightly above average, but not worth a 5 star review, the tables are always sticky and the price is a little high for the quality of what you get. That being said, my family and I still recommend this place!

Decent fix for the BBQ cravings... Kids love it and I get to indulge on smoked chicken and their incredible jalapeño poppers. Love the always friendly staff and decor... Manager sure knows how to pick the lookers too. Well done!

So that was, um, something. Interesting decor; mounted heads and fish everywhere you look. The brisket was not good, the tea tasted stale, the collards were barely warm. My son's food came out piping hot. So hot in fact, that he wasn't able to start eating until 5 minutes later. Thought I would give it a shot despite the blah reviews. I should have listened.

Got the mother clucker sammich. Very delicious. The different sauces added on were yummy, especially the Rump Roaster sauce! The mac and cheese was quite cheesy and very good. Lastly the fried okra was a good addition to the meal. It was savory, not dried out. All in all a very filling and delicious meal.

St Louis dry rubbed ribs were cooked to death and then some. Fries were OK. Server was great! Fast, professional and beautiful.

I was introduced to BubbaQue's while driving down Hwy 19 in Chiefland. I think that it is Chiefland's only redeeming value. I was so impressed I sent off an E-mail to them on how good they are. I had to go back up to Pensacola again, and figured I'd go back through 19, just to look forward to BubbaQue. I was happy to find out I can just get off I-10 for my new favorite BBQ. This is a 7 chain restaurant, I wish it was 27 restaurant's, but alas. BubbaQue in Jonesville, Fl is a suburb of Gainesville, it's a beautiful area. BubbaQue here has the same great service, and the place is clean. It's not as big as Chiefland's store, but it was just the two of us. The food was great. The rib's still has that bite, and mouth texture, there not mush like I find in so many southern BBQ restaurant's in North Florida. The beans are excellent as is the Mac and Cheese. I really , really like this place, like the people, love the food. My only complaint, I like hot spicy BBQ, and that's where there lacking. But, they were nice about getting me a bottle of Franks. Is it worth taking away a star, no, I now look forward to my 700 mile trip back, I'll go back to Bubba's Q

Question: What is the best way to try a Barbeque place? Answer: To try everything, of course! My party of three ordered the Feast for Four, which included almost everything but the kitchen sink and then some. It was foods galore, and then enough for two days leftovers afterwards. That is, if you really want to eat Barbeque for three days straight. You enter and order at the counter and pay, then take a seat, and the staff will bring everything over to your table. There appears to be a self-service drink area to the right of the counter, but it is actually employees only. All of the sauces should be at your table, and all regions of the country are represented in the impressive spread. I was not really impressed with the flavor of the sauces, but I did manage to pick two that I liked the most (I mixed the two to make something better): Old Yeller: Like the name implies is a mustard based sauce, but more of a super sweet honey mustard with very little bite. Tractor Grease: Their standard sauce, with the bottle size being the largest, filled with your basic tomato base with a little brown sugar and barely any tang. Reminded me of Kraft Foods Bull's Eye sauce. While you wait for your meal, you have the opportunity to bob your head along to some country jams or admire the roadkill artwork gracing the walls. The guys at the table behind us had a cooler of cheap beer and appeared to have been there all day. All of the meats here are SUPER SALTY. The worst being the ribs, like super freakin' beef jerky salty. And, I have actually had some Jack Links beef jerky that had more moisture than the ribs at Bubba's. The pulled pork and beef brisket were decent if slathered in sauce, and the chicken was a little rubbery. The side dishes left more to be desired, the best being the beans filled with shredded bits of meat. The mac and cheese, fries, sweet potato fries, fried okra, etc...were all a la Golden Corral.

here's our rating..went around the group..asked each their rating from 1 to 5 stars..everyone answered the same 2 stars max Went in for beef brisket, asked if they slice or chop, they answered pulled..who does pulled brisket ?? it's either sliced or chopped but never pulled, so I opted for the pulled pork. Others got the St. Louis ribs, we asked if they were fall off the bone tender, answer came back yes. Well check the photos out..pulled pork was ok, hard to mess that up. St Louis ribs were like 2 days old. Dry, not meaty, and the rub they used made them very salty. Worst ribs we'd had in a long time. Sides, okra, beans, and turnip greens were ok. Atmosphere is very nice. But if the BBQ stinks, which it did, we won't be back because of the nice BBQ decor. I wanted to go here for lunch because of the number of BBQ sauces they have. There were two sauces that were on the list that we not on our table. The vinegar based sauce and the rib sauce. We had to ask for them. The waitress brought to the table. The vinegar sauce was probably the best, as the others while different in taste, all have that gummy bottled texture, they might have a lot of different sauces, but none at the table tasted homemade. They tasted like they were from Bubbaque corporate head quarters (except for the vinegar and rid sauce). See my pics. You will see in my pics the photos of the ribs, all dried out. I was going to complain, but my wife said don't bother. Had high hopes, but cannot recommend. Sorry Bubbaque's. Hope your game improves ! Like their sign says "Their BBQ truly is this PITs !" and by that they don't mean BBQ pits

Decent but nothing really stands out. The smell is fantastic though. I think that the portions could be a bit larger.

CHIEFLAND REVIEW. Since we live nearer Chiefland we stop now and then at their Bubbaque's. Love the few choices we repeatedly order. Fries are great too! We enjoy reading the signs and looking at the decor' even though it doesn't change. When our kids visit from Illinois we take them to Bubbaques to impress them with our fine dining establishements. Great service altho they were never busy when there. Maybe that's why we got great attention. Cute waitresses. Is that sexist? Have't been to the new location yet.

Nice and interesting decor. Stay away from the ribs. Dry and over cooked. However their pulled pork is excellent. I thought their sauces were pretty good too. The Mac n cheese was alright but definitely nothing out of the ordinary. Fries were probably your standard crinkle cut warmed up frozen fries.

I'm not really sure why this place gets such tough reviews. Yes, you have to order up front like a fast food joint and then go find a seat. It's not that big of a deal folks. Plus...it's NEWBERRY, FLORIDA...not exactly the height of culinary genius. I got the Smoked Turkey combo for $6.95 which included a drink (sweet tea) and fries. This was a great deal and I really think it might be the best BBQ in Newberry. Yes...I said it. The time they've put in to design the inside of this place was impressive. They've used beer buckets upside down as lamp shades... Tailgates as one side of a booth and a big cooler for a seat on the other side. The plethora of BBQ sauces is also a good thing. Yes, they've got clever names for all of them. Don't worry, there's a key on the table stating what's what for the greenhorn at the table. The wait staff is attentive and they will come and get you refills. Yes the refill station does look like you could walk up and help yourself. Don't, it's employees only. If you want a refill...just ask. This is a very good place to eat...it's a nice alternative to Backyard BBQ in all honesty. Not to mention..it's a shorter drive from Gainesville.

Bubba Que's is not without flaws, but they are okay overall. -They frequently run out of meat, so be prepared with a back-up order. -Sauces are unmemorable, although a mixture of "Tractor Grease" and ranch dressing on their salads is pretty good. -Speaking of the salad, it's huge. If you get the one with "fried chicken tenders", it's a fried chicken fillet cut into strips, or at least it was for me when I ordered it once. - Odd drink station that has already been discussed to death. I had read other reviews prior to coming here; otherwise, I would have no idea that it wasn't self serve. - Ambiguous tipping procedure. You order at the counter, which is fine. Then food and drinks are brought to you, as well as drinks refilled throughout the meal. But then at the end you throw your own trash away, or sometimes the quasi waitress will pick it up for you. Then you have to leave a tip on an empty table. No tip jar up at the register. The first time I went, I didn't tip because I was confused. Now I do, but I suspect that there is still a lot of confusion because of their identity crisis. - They have some kind of Bubba Deal or something, which is a sandwich, side, and drink for a little cheaper than Sonny's Big Deal. - I actually kind of like the playful redneck theme. The downside is that it becomes a little too real at times, since you can be stuck sitting on actual tailgates and plastic coolers. I've had BubbaQue's pulled pork here and there at catered functions and have never been too impressed, but I've also had worse. I never think "Today, I want good BBQ" followed by "mmm, BubbaQue's!", but I will likely come back for lunch every now and then.

I think you caught it on a bad day, Damion. This place is right by work for me, and it's my go to spot. The staff is super nice, and treats me like a regular which I love. They've got my drink ready before I order it. :) Pork sandwich is the best in town. Big pieces, not ripped to shreds like some other places. Ribs are good, but still 2nd to Adam's Rib company in town. I don't get the chicken, but one of my coworkers swears it's the best in town. As for sides, they are hit or miss. I'm not impressed with the beans, stew, or fries there. Sweet potato fries however are awesome. They are wedge cut, so it's like you get an entire potato. Corn nuggets and funnel cake fries (you read that right) are awesome as sharable sides. I always get the veggies like steamed broccoli there too, to try and make myself feel like I'm eating healthy. I suggest no butter or butter on the side. They tend to drench it (and will even fry your corn or green beans if you want your heart to stop during lunch). Desert would be good if the cobbler came ala mode. Otherwise, meh. All in all, a great place with a fun, playful atmosphere.

I heard good things about the place and decided to try it myself. You order at the counter and choose your own table. Food is then brought to you. I found that strange. It's like semi-fast-food. The staff was nice and the meat was pretty good. The sides were the real letdown. Between two of us, we had coleslaw, mac & cheese, fried okra and baked beans. Of those, only the coleslaw was any good. If you're in the area, it's not a horrible option, but there's much better not too far away.

Real Bar-B-Que taste. One of the Best I have ever had. It has a Red-Neck theme to the restaurant. Only negative thing I can come up with is the chairs/seats are not that comfortable.

Very good. Large portions, good food, good price. Order at the main counter and food is brought to you, but the staff constantly checks on you and are very friendly. This is one of the better BBQ joins in North Florida.
