The worst Mexican food we ever had. It seems they only cater to seasonal guests. They misrepresented their two for one happy hour on margaritas as our server never mentioned it only applied to frozen margaritas. We ordered fajitas and nachos and they all tasted the same BLAND. Absolutely the most disappointing food you can imagine. We are full time residents and this is a place we will forget and tell our other full time residents to do so also. Never again will we pay $75 for such food......overpriced is to say the least,

A really satisfactory meal. The nachos we fresh and crispy, the lime margarita slightly bland, but my meal was rather good and fresh. I had the avocado tostadas and all the ingredients were very delicious. The service was a little questionable as there was only one server, BUT this is a good little divey restaurant with some good options

This was my first time at Señor Tequila s. the food was very good! I had the Mole Verde/ pork and my wife, chicken Fajita s, both were very good. Portion sizes were enough for 2-3 people. We took most of it home. It s tucked back off Collier Blvd but worth finding! Mark

Chips and salsa are lacking which in my opinion is crucial for a mexican restaurant. C'mon!.....if you can't get that right, how will the other food be good?!

We had a delightful dinner. Great service. Tasty food and there was live music, Johnny Cash crowning in the background made for a nice ambiance.

Moved here from CA three months ago and I am starting to have REAL Mexican food withdrawals. This place has almost got it, but not quite. Everything was just a little off. It actually has good salsa, refried beans and Mexican rice, which most places in Naples doesn't have. Actually, I was quite surprised to be served real refried beans and not black beans!! My beef with this place is they smother the burritos with all these extras like sour cream, guac, lettuce, tomato.... It's just too much. Just make a burrito and put the extras on the side :( Chips and tortilla were stale and off. Burrito only had meat inside and no other fillings. Don't think I'll be back.

I like this place very much. The service is usually warm and friendly. The food is consistently good, done in the Jalisco style.(not like Tijuana flats or iguana Mia) Monday thru Thursday they have the soothing tones of Frankie Ray and Maryellen, a husband and wife duo who have been in the entertainment business since the 60's, together. When I first started coming here I started with the lamb shank. It's cooked properly, the meat tender and falling off the bone. They serve with your choice of corn or flour tortillas, rice, and refried beans. I Love the rice they use. It isn't like the thick fluffy rice you get at other places. It is better, thin long grain. And they have great refried beans, too. Oh, they also start you off with chips and two types of salsa. The chips are not deep fried greasy, but baked and warm. They serve a very spicy salsa and a mild, chunky salsa. Both yummy. On later visits, I switched to their large dinner combo of two tacos and an avocado tostada. Very good. Especially the tostada with the fresh big slices of avocado. And, I have finally found my regular entree that I order every time; the carne asada. I love it. Cooked med, served with corn tortillas, rice, refried beans, a cooked spicy Chile pepper, and two sauteed scallions. My mouth is watering just typing out the description. My fiancé, a creature of strong habit, always gets the shrimp fajitas with flour tortillas. He lovesloves. They are a nice sized shrimp and very generous in portion. I will post pictures. We now try to go there at least 2 times a week and only go on days Frankie Ray and Maryellen are performing. Frankie Ray tells little anecdotes about certain songs' history or famous people they've met in their lives. I suggest you sit in the section farthest from the stage if you want to converse with guests who are hard of hearing. Their show starts at 6. It's so much better than your typical run of the mill Mexican restaurants.

Parking is really hard in season on Sunday because of the farmers market. Salsa was very good. Tacos beans rice just average. Service was slow. Had to go to the register to get check. 2 tacos beans rice and 1 coffee $16 with poor service is a bit much.

Save your money...We love Mexican food but there is nothing "fine" about this place. The salsa is kinda sloppy and not very tasty. Our dinners were pretty gross. I was really in the mood for Mexican but this has definitely turned me off Mexican food for awhile.

The guys play games with coupons. The coupon said "buy one entree, get another free." You get to the restaurant, place your order, and then are told that your entree isn't eligible. What?! I'm told to refer to some piece of paper plastered in the window to indicate which "entree numbers" are acceptable for the coupon. This is an issue you can easily submit to the Florida Department of Consumer Affairs or BBB, because it's patently illegal to put such restrictions on a coupon and then not reference those terms and conditions on it. I choose to simply warn folks on Yelp! that these guys are stingy in what they serve and how they honor their word. Go to Mr. Tequila's on the Tamiami instead.

We always have a good meal here, and the margaritas are tasty !! Our service was pretty good tonight, although our drinks didn't arrive til our dinner came, so while eating our appetizers we had nothing to drink, but all and all it was good

this place "used to be" one of our favorites! what a dissapointment it is now, they must have changed kitchen staff or manager?? food was terrible and very expensive! went up on all prices on the menu. the only good thing was the margarita! i used to love the chips and homemade pico, but it was just not the same! dont believe i will be going back there again, what a shame!

The atmosphere was cozy and the salsa was very good. Because there was no lunch menu,we had to order the "dinner" combos at 2pm for $16 a piece. Wasn't happy about it but thought we'd have enough to take home, not the case- dinner prices with lunch portions. Do not, I repeat do not order the fish tacos- they are Gordon's frozen fish sticks on a tortilla. I agree that I would have rather gone to Taco Bell, at least with them, if I order a $2 menu item, I get what I pay for. My husbands steak fajitas were dry and very small chunks of meat. The staff was very friendly and attentive. If I go back, it will be for the happy hour $2.50 coronas m-f from 3- 6

I am generously giving Senor Tequila two stars. I made a reservation and when we showed up for it there was some confusion about where we were supposed to be seated. Perhaps that confusion, since they had us inside and we wanted to sit outside, led to a server being overwhelmed or just kind of threw things off but it was an unremarkable meal. The bottom line here is that the food is not good. The chicken in my enchilada was dry. We were served a shrimp cocktail, which I would not normally order in a Mexican restaurant but we had some teenagers with us and they wanted it, was without question one of the most bizarre dishes I have ever seen. The shrimp were in a traditional shrimp cocktail glass bowl, but the bowl was filled with liquid and pieces of avacado and cilantro and dabs of cocktail sauce and the shrimp were floating in all of this. The steak for the fajita was not good. I understand that the point behind fajitas to begin with is you use undesirable scraps of meat and heavily marinate them, mix them with peppers etc so you can enjoy them. These were undesirable undesirable scraps of meat. I cannot recommend this place to others, although I see many people do and there is always the chance that we just had a confluence of bad circumstances.

Great portion size and food. I had the spicy shrimp served in the hot pot and it was amazing. It came with great sized shrimp and plenty of them.

Went here on last night in Naples. Loved it, very close to my fav Philly Mexican. Portions were huge , I really don't know how people could finish all their food. Wife's margarita was strong & to her liking. Salsa had a good kick to it too

atmosphere is ok and comfortable. I didn't eat my food they brought however. The cheese dip was cold and clumpy and my nachos had "fake" cheese. Which i hate.

The food here is on par with taco bell. The chips and salsa was brought out very quickly after we sat down. Unfortunately they were cheap tortilla chips from a bag. Salsa was pretty good though. I had an enchilada and taco entree and my wife had an enchilada and tostada. Once again the taco shell was a cheap store bought one, the ground beef was very bland and there was very little cheese on the dish and no sour cream. Also happy hour did not include wine, only well drinks. I really don't like to write bad reviews, but I do get sick of paying good money($15 for my dish, same for my wife), for food I could surpass in 1 trip to the store.

Fresh Mexican food! Delicious pico & salsa with chips. Good moist shredded chicken, large taco salad, delish refried beans. Also a good selection of tequila, popular margaritas, bottled & draft beer. I did not have high expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Great place, we'll be back next time we're down this way and hopefully it's still good.

The food here was good &They have large portions, however the the fact that the service SUCKS takes away from that big time! Not only were the waitresses rude but also impatient and lazy. "Happy HOur", as they call it was a JOKE ! The drinks were completely watered down which was a shame because one of the best things about" authentic" Mexican food is the margaritas! Would not go back or recommend unless it is for takeout!

The mole verde ($14.50) claims "chunks of pork blended with a hot tomatillo sauce, jalepeno peppers and spices". I got chunks of fat with a few bites of pork simmered in green stuff with no flavor. The chicken chiptle ($15.99) was pretty good and surprisingly, the cheapest item we got (Super Nachos with shredded beef for $10.99) was the best. We all agreed that we would have spent less than half at Taco Ardiente and enjoyed the food much more. Nice atmoshere inside and the margaritas look great. Next time I will save my money and try the alcohol and stick with the chips and salsa.

Average chips and salsa, food was horrible. Bad beef tacos, and I just returned from Mexico so I had something to compare it to. I'm going to try it again soon just to confirm my rating, and I'll adjust if required.

Simply cannot understand the "1" ratings. I am from Texas. Suffice it to say...I have had great Mexican food. While not great, Senors is certainly "Very Good". Quick run down. Fresh, hot chips. 3 very good salsas. 2 ice cold beers. Chicken flautas. Chile relleno. Flan. Great service from John. Food was fresh and served hot. All in all a very pleasant experience. Will come back the next time in Naples.

One of my relatives is a big fan of Mexican food and is continually on the lookout for new Mexican cuisine to try in the Naples area. I myself was born and raised a white-bread Midwesterner in the suburbs of Detroit and couldn't have discerned real Mexican food from Taco Bell until recently. So when my relative recommended Señor Tequila's, my wife and I decided we'd go check it out. From my admittedly unlearned perspective, I found this to be the best Mexican restaurant I've tried in Naples. It's cozy, comfortable and roomy inside with plenty of ceiling fans to keep the air moving, and the Earth-toned decor is attractive. During our visit, service was prompt, attentive and very friendly. The food itself was excellent. To start, we were served a basket of corn chips and medium-spicy salsa in a quaint miniature decanter. We ordered the chicken tortilla soup to share and got a huge bowl fit for two, plus some leftovers to take home. The soup was flavorful (though not spicy) and filled with quality white meat chicken. Normally it's made with cheese, but because my wife doesn't eat dairy, we requested an exception -- which was made with no difficulties. I had the two-burrito combination, one shredded beef and the other chicken. Both were bursting with flavor and the meat was of superb quality throughout. Even the guacamole and sour cream garnish tasted fantastic. My wife ordered the shrimp fajitas, which I got to sample and liked a great deal. She wasn't too enthused with them herself, however, because of the fairly strong butter flavor. In the future I think she will stick with the soup (which is big enough for a meal anyway) and perhaps an appetizer. Señor Tequila's also serves those Jarritos Mexican sodas that are made with natural sweetener, and which come in a variety of flavors. I don't drink, otherwise I would have sampled the tequila for which the restaurant is named. Apparently they stock every brand of tequila that's made in Mexico. I was hoping they'd also stock Coca-Cola imported from Mexico -- made with real sugar instead of HFCS -- but no dice. The restaurant's owner is a native of Jalisco, Mexico and the cuisine purportedly reflects this area of the country. I confess having never been to Mexico despite my travels to various parts of the world, so I can't really tell you how authentic the food might be, but we certainly enjoyed it. If you're looking for Mexican food in the southwest Florida area, I'd recommend stopping by to check it out.

Went to Mr. Tequila's for some dinner and was pleasantly surprised. First off, the atmosphere was right. The place is themed but not too tacky. Food was good. Prices are a little high but I felt that I got good value for my money. Chips and salsa are served with all meals. Salsa is homemade and delicious. Service was good. Overall we were happy.

Great lunch. Have been here twice and the salsa was authentic and spicy. Chille Releno is a can't miss lunch entree. Would reccomend to anyone who loves authentic mexican food.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
