I really liked this place. I like how you can dig into delicious stone crab claws, get butter and sauce all over the place and not feel like a pig. This place has a great vibe, maybe it was just the company I was dining with, but we all had a really great time. The decor is umm... retro? But it makes it feel more casual, like you're at someone's house. I was wearing a skirt and didn't feel overdressed, although a lot of the people were wearing t-shirts and flip-flops. One of the people in my party had dined at Kelly's many times. He told all of us, "Get the large -not jumbo- stone crab claw dinner." All six of us ordered the exact same thing. You get a salad, baked potato or fries, and 5 stone crab claws served warm or cold. The salad was basic, I like ALL things potato, and the crab was fan-f*cking-tastic. It comes with melted butter, and what everyone kept referring to as "mustard sauce" but I thought the sauce tasted more horsradish-y and I really liked it. My boyfriend ordered the clam chowder as an appetizer and it was great. We also had a huge basket of hush puppies (I've never had them before) and now I'm addicted. Just a warning, They "float" the rum in the pina coladas (yeah I ordered one, I was on vacation!) so if you don't stir it, you might get a mouthful of rum... and you might get tipsy after one or two sips... or maybe that was just me. Since I didn't pick up the tab, I don't know what type of value we got, but I'm SURE it was worth it.

This place was ok but nothing spectacular. For a place with 'Fish House' in the title, we were disapointed by the lack of actual fish on the menu. Lots of shellfish but not a lot of fish entrees. The food we got was ok, just nothing that was really worth going back for. We all felt the prices were a bit steep as well. We sat in the 'outside' area but it was all enclosed. It was a beautiful evening and we were looking forward to really sitting outside, along the water. We could tell that the windows could slide open but they were shut. We were also disapointed that there was a large boat docked right next to the windows so any view we were hoping for was gone.

EXTREMELY overpriced!!! So very disappointed! My daughter and I ordered the fried sample platter. We each got 3 fried shrimp, 5 small bite size pieces of fish and the same small bites of fried oyster. My baked potato was crispy as if it had been under a hot light for several hours. Service was decent but our waiter a bit pushy trying to get us to order the key lime pie. My advice --- pay attention to reviews! I wish we had headed the advice!

The seafood was definitely fresh and yummy. I found the menu subpar, nothing that you won't be able to find elsewhere. Things seemed overpriced and the service wasn't great. The atmosphere was lively and the view is wonderful! I would definitely try another seafood restaurant in the area before returning though.

Classic old Florida family seafood restaurant. If you are looking for a tourist, flashy restaurant, this is not the place for you. This is good food, and a restaurant with a lot of personality. I had the stone crab claws and peel and eat shrimp, all fantastic! Service was great! I'll be back-

If you want free hush puppies then this is your place. We ordered their Mahi Mahi special and it came tough and burnt from being over cooked. The potatoes it was served on tasted like a the cylinder of salt was dumped on it. Not to mention the bland Caesar salad, paltry seafood platter appetizer and dried out limes to go with our Coronas. I am confident that the sea animals in the ocean get a better cuisine than patrons of this place. The only redeeming factor was they did not charge us at all for the dinner. If your looking for good seafood done right, you can do much better than here at this price point.

I took my parents there for dinner and there we not very busy. I like the very casual look and feel of the place. We waited about ten minutes for a table which was no big deal. The big deal was the horrible service. The food was good, especially the hush puppies. People who sat after us received their salads and entrees before us. We ordered another round of drinks and it took 15 minutes to get them; I saw them sit on the bar and I never received mine. She never came over to ask how things were - nothing. I had to ask another server for our check. Again it took awhile and when she did drop it off, she slammed it down and say "here's your check Sir". I took my check up to the front counter and talked with the owner. I'm a local and will not be returning. Service goes a long way and it can kill a restaurant' reputation.

Came here for a light dinner with my dad. The restaurant is really old fashioned, I feel like I was back in the 90's. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder, a lot of clams but the consistency was very watery. My dad got a salad salad with his entree and we found a lady bug in it!!! So gross!! They insisted they wash their lettuce but obviously not good enough. They gave us a complimentary key lime pie, big deal. Don't go here unless you want to eat bugs!

I see that some have reviewed this restaurant poorly based on its limited menu and I understand that but the place is a real throwback and they know how to cook some fish. They also have great service and I think anyone looking for an old school fish house experience will be glad they went. We had broiled grouper and stone crab claws, both of which were fantastic. The wine list is not extensive but is reasonably priced and what we chose was excellent. Please don't let the low star ratings keep you away!

One of the few times I was disappointed. Usually great friendly service but this time My sister went to the outside bar. I was the only one there. The bartender was working on some orders. I was expecting a hello I'll be with you in a couple of minutes, I got stone silence. The table was loud. The fried food was underdone for the calamari and greasy for the fried seafood platter that's been my favorite for decades. Sad to lose a memory...

At Marina. Pleasant evening views. Bar area nice but not open.. Open would be better. Bartender older woman, very distracted, no friendly greeting. Restaurant, older layout, clean and spacious. Heh, No background music..someone gets it. Very pleasant waiter. Nice menu for fish dishes. Prices in line with medium priced restaurants. Hush puppies.. Quite good. Stone Crabs.. 5 large for $40. Worthwhile. Shrimp Gumbo.. Good.. Restrooms, clean, adequate. Food, service, clean, tables not crowded, easy parking, reasonable prices = 4x's

The hush puppy's were the best ever!! They were the only good part of our meal. Average food, very small shrimp, the worst service ever. That's the first time I've left a $1 tip in a long time

Can you say, "OVER PRICED!!" I ordered a fried grouper dinner plate for my son for pick up. We received the equivalent of a Long John Silver's Happy Meal and were charged $29.00!! And the best thing about the meal was the hush puppies! The grouper was decent, the fries serviceable, and the cole slaw an unimaginative mess of shredded cabbage and a mayonnaise blob! Please if you've got ANY OTHER OPTIONS, avoid this trap!

Great historic seafood restaurant right on docks. See the stone crabs unloaded off the boats. Fresh fresh fresh stone crabs. They have all you can eat or by the pound and size stone crabs in season. Complimentary hush puppies. Old historic building right on bay with great views. It is like stepping back in time.

Way overpriced and the food is really bad. No wonder they were out of hamburgers the night we went. No one wanted to eat their other menu items! The oysters were cooked, and were 'okay'. The chicken was horrible and the potato was insulting. How to you screw up chicken and potatoes? The chicken tacos my wife got (two for $17??) were bland and she got a dollop of guac on the side. Honestly, the prices were insulting. The kids menu items looked more appealing than anyone elses at the table. There are a BUNCH of better options down by the water. The other restaurants were packed (for good reason) which is why we ate at Kelly's. The decor screams 1975 and I hear the patio is never opened anymore. The staff was rude and looked tired and uninterested. I could go on and on, but I was motivated to take 5 min out of my life to tell you all to avoid this place. :)

We have been coming to Kelly's for the past ten years with family that live in Naples and NEVER had a bad meal. Everything is fresh and homemade from the hush puppies to the salad dressing to the key lime pie. If u are looking.for nouveau chic this is not the place but a taste of old Florida this is the real deal.. Kelly has his own boats and brings in stone crab during season! !

For the price you'd expect the seafood to be phenomenal, however the dish was underwhelming.

Kelly's was recommended by friends of ours who frequent the area but many of the online reviews were, how shall I say, negative and that made the friends with whom we were traveling hesitant. But after one of the other recommendations we had received worked out well we all agreed to give Kelly's a chance and, I am happy to say, we were glad we didn't believe the negative reviews. Kelly's is a dive, and proud of it. Right on the docks you expect fresh food and they deliver. The Stone Crab was fresh and delicious. The steak was terrific for a non-steak place and all of the other food was well-prepared. The service was prompt and the waitress helpful if you asked her a question. You just have to know how to talk to people and I am afraid some reviewers lack this skill. Anyway, we're glad we went and would encourage doubters to do so.

This place was just not good. I wouldn't go as far as calling it terrible in that the food is edible and no one in my party got sick, but for this price I think that people should definitely be warned of what to expect. First of all, our waitress was extremely rough, aggressively placing drinks and plates on the table as if she had much better things to be doing with her time. She was very short in her responses and rushed answers to our questions about the different entrees. Now for the entrees themselves. For about $30 per person, you don't expect an upscale dining experience, but you do expect the food to taste good. Unfortunately, this was far from the case. I had the tortuga garlic shrimp (don't remember exactly what it was called). Basically, they bring out about 8 baby shrimps floating in a bowl full of oil and grease. To me, for $23 this is just unacceptable. Another member of my party had the dill salmon and thought that it was simply disgusting. My dad had the mini-platter with fried shrimp and another fried fish that I can't remember and he said it was nothing special. You probably could have gotten the same quality at a drive-through joint that sells fried fish, like Captain Crab's. Overall, this place is NOT worth the amount they charge people. Do not go here and expect to receive your money's worth because you will be HIGHLY disappointed. The only redeeming quality of this restaurant is the hush puppies. If you're eating on the outdoor deck, the ambiance is actually pretty nice. You'll have the opportunity to look over at Tin City and all the patrons at the restaurants across the water and think to yourself, "why did I choose this one?"

Food is traditionally bland, seafood in only broiled, fried, or otherwise tasteless options. I ordered snapper broiled, but received the other option, which was almandine (pan fried) and when I mentioned it to the waitress, she offered to remove the almonds- that still wouldn't be broiled fish, and I am capable of removing the almonds myself... Instead of bread, they bring small deep-fried balls of dough.... Food is expensive and mediocre. You do get a nice view of the water....

I feel bad. This is my second bad review for an establishment in Naples, but I feel like it's my duty to tell y'all the truth. So we picked Kelly's for our big family dinner out for the following reasons - desite the poor reviews on yelp and tripadvisor: 1) Recommended by the owner of the condo we were renting from 2) All you can eat stone crab claws 3) Oysters 4) Grouper 5) Good reviews on hush puppies Always trust the reviews if majority of them are bad! I should've known better. But AYCE crab? I mean, I live for that! At Kelly's, it was $45 for AYCE. Um... what? It was $45 at Trulucks too (see previous review) - but it was understandable sinec Trulucks is a fine dining restaurant. Kelly's is kinda of a dump. Stone crab is local and in season when we went, so I can't understand why it's so expensive. Then again, everything on the menu was expensive and the portions are really small. MIL had the broiled seafood platter. Half (HALF) a lobster tail, overcooked shrimp, and tiny scallops that was swimming in butter or something. The scallops were grey in color. The oysters were fine - small, but for $9 for 6, it wasn't too bad. Hubs had potato encrusted grouper which was a special for the day, and althought crispy, it was not seasoned at all. The dish only was edible after he added salt and pepper to his dish with some extra lime juice. FIl's almondine fish was also flavorless. Gulf shrimp scampi was overcooked.... do you see a pattern here? I think the chef needs to go back to culinary school. The only saving grace was their delicious hush puppies, and my crab. I ended up going with the $29 7 medium claw platter which also came with a salad and potato. The crab was really good, but I still don't think it was worth $29. I feel bad because my FIL paid for our meals. We should've walked out when we saw two other tables get up and leave. Ugh. I don't have many regrets, but this is one. Trust me, don't go there. Blech.

Can't believe I checked in at the Shell Shack next door but not at the actual restaurant. Weird. Guess I was more focused on staying upright while walking through the dining room. Okay, okay. I know plenty of people have poked fun at the uneven floors already. I just had to laugh about it because I read it in the reviews before I went and nobody was exaggerating. Enough joking. Three stars for this place because they really are "A-OK." Not amazing and not horrible. Well... the service was horrible. We had a lady waiting on our table who clearly did not want to be there. She was more than frustrated with how busy the restaurant was and kept complaining (to us) that she couldn't get caught up. Every time she stopped by she acted like she didn't have more than 30 seconds to give us so we better be ready for her when she comes. I sat down later than the rest of my party and missed the drink order. I felt so bad for the waitress with all her stress that I didn't even order a drink until halfway through the meal when it seemed like she relaxed a bit. It's difficult enjoying a meal in a nice place when you feel like more of a bother to the staff than their guest. The food: it was good. Not the best seafood I had on vacation but I'd put it in the top 5. I ordered the combo plate with deep fried grouper, shrimp and oysters. The oysters were the star here. They were very tender. I would have loved some melted butter to dip them in but the dish came with cocktail and tartar sauce and I didn't want our waitress to have a coronary having to bring me one more thing. The shrimp was good, the grouper a little dry. I was able to get a taste of the macadamia encrusted whitefish from the person next to me and it was phenomenal. Definitely the best thing I tasted there. I only wish I had ordered it! One last note: we were given some hush puppies while we waited to place our order. Not sure if this is served to everyone or just those who have waited longer than others. They were only good because we were starving. If you have to pay for them, order something else.

Please note: I like old school awesome places. If you want fancy schmancy atmosphere don't come here. It looked like it just stepped out of 1960. Right on the water. I wish it would have been warmer so we could sit outside but we had such a great time I really wouldn't have changed a thing. The atmosphere is awesome. There are wooden tables with glass tops filled with sand and shells, servers who know exactly what they are doing, chefs who can cook the hell out of some lobster tails. If that is up your alley then come on in. The prices were so affordable. We spent $100 for dinner on 2 eight ounce perfectly cooked Florida lobster tails, salads, hush puppies, a huge plate of stone crabs, a bunch of cheap beer, baked potatoes and fries and really good key lime pie. I will go back.

To be honest, we were disappointed. We had been expecting a great, traditional old fish restaurant atmosphere with great food. What we got instead: a limited, overpriced menu, stingy portions for the price (our server asked us how many hush puppies we wanted and brought us an exact number.. Two in our refill basket, for example). No wonder so few people were here and the crowd was across the water in other establishments. That is what I wish we had done. We will not be returning.

If I was 90 years old, I would give this restaurant 5 stars. If you want to experience a place that has classic seafood dishes and nothing else, then this is your place. This is an old, casual seafood establishment. I had one of their colossal piña coladas and it was well-made. There's nothing about this place that really stands out as good or bad, except the service was actually very good. The decor is from the late 80's topped off with tables that are display tables with sea shells. I wouldn't put this at the top of my list unless my grandmother was coming to visit FL for the first time.

  • Mary S.

Very disappointed. I ordered the broiled seafood platter and both the lobster and shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. The scallops were soggy. The'grouper was tasteless. Thank goodness for the baked potato!

I had been living in Naples for a while and had never been to Kelly's before so I decided to take my mother, wife and my 2 year old son to try it out. First off - bad idea to bring a kid here. The woman at the front just gave us a evil look as soon as we walked in. The outdoor seating is only for drinks, which was a let down since it would be a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal. The carpet inside will give you a headache if you stare at it more than a few seconds due to the cheezy design. The interior looks more like a 80 year old woman designed it, and isn't fancy or even pleasing to the eye. The server was pleasant but the evil eye lady who someone told me was the owner just kept looking at us. My son was behaving perfectly fine, but I could get the feeling we were not welcome. I ordered a fisherman platter, which was the size of a miniature appetizer. For the $26 I spent on it, I expected it to at least satisfy my minimal hunger I had going in. The food was good, but not $26 good for a few shrimp and scallops. This is a total tourist trap so I see why the other locals I've spoken to don't go there. Drive a few hundred yards to 5th ave. Any place there will be about $26 for a dinner but it will provide a nice atmosphere and at least a dinner size meal.

For a fish house they don't know how to cook fish. My scallops, deep fried, were soggy and raw. I sent them back and instead of giving me a new order - they recooked my undercooked ones!!!!

The food here was had no seasoning on it and had no taste. They are an old resturant that needs to update the place.

Finally got to eat here, the place wasn't too busy but yet it was impossible to find my waitress... the food was very good, perhaps I got the bad one this time. Next time I'm in Naples and want fish I'm heading to Randy's fish market.

We were lured in by the fact that they have been in business since the 1950's. That was a mistake. The Scotch was diluted. The shrimp cakes were tasteless as the was the coleslaw. To top it off, the grated potatoes au gratin upon which the fish was placed were raw. They tasted like Ore-Ida hash browns right from the bag. When I told the waiter, he just shrugged.

I don't like most fancy restaurants - small portions and large prices don't mix in my book, I'll pay the cash, but I want a real meal. Kelly's provides that type of experience. Located on the water in Naples, this is one of the oldest dining establishments. Great location, unattractive building on the outside. Interior is fine-not fancy but not dumpy. There is a great bar on the waterfront deck. I ordered the Kelly's Fish House Platter which included lobster tail, clams, oysters, fish (can't remember type), shrimp. All fried with a pretty light batter. Great stuff. Also comes w/salad and hushpuppies which are terrific. BP/fries/rice/veggie sides to choose from as well. Kellys is an institution - old style, old building, good food. It's always packed so I'm not the only one who likes it!

  • Joanna C.

I had dinner here last night. I ordered the broiled seafood plater. My brother ordered the friend seafood platter and his girlfriend has the grouper. The seafood was fresh and delicious. The oysters in the seafood platter were plump and juicy. The last place I had oysters like that was in New Orleans. The fish was super fresh and perfectly cooked. The hushpuppies they give are outstanding, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The salad dressing is homemade and taste like it. Even the chive sour cream for the baked potato was good. To cap it off, the key like pie was one of the best I have ever had. It was light and not too tart with a great crust. If you want Red Lobster prices don't go there. If you want fresh and delicious seafood, not like Red Lobster, do go asap.

The floors in the place are NOT level. So, watch yourselves as they seat you, you'll start to veer off to one side as though you are on a cruise ship at sea. Otherwise, the food is good, the location is very nice, across from Tin City and all the boats. Definately an old place, the tables are a bit "tacky" for my taste. The part that really bothered me was the Extra Charge for an empty plate. I think it was around $5 to $7. My father in law was not feeling well and didn't want to order a meal for himself. He would just share a bite or two with my mother in law. No big deal right? We'll the surprize came when we got the bill and saw the extra charge. When we asked our server about that, she indicated then, about the extra charge. I asked why she didn't tell us this when we told her when ordering? DUH!!! Gotcha. He didn't even use the plate, he just took a couple of pieces with his fork. The plate was still clean, and we told them that. The mgr didn't care, nor did anything about this, after many requests to have the charge removed. Maybe you think that's petty, however, I DON'T LIKE SURPRIZES that are going to cost me money. So, expect this, if this is something you may do. They pretty much told me, "too bad" just don't come back. How's that for Customer Service?

    (3)
  • Kimberly S.

Terribly overpriced for almost burnt food. Prices are not posted on their website, but we did not expect 13.00 appetizers and19.95 to 44.95 entrees to be "moderate". Food was severely overcooked. Grouper was prepared badly, lobster was tough, shrimp and scallop scampi seemed to be boiled in butter and garlic, we were sadly disappointed. Maybe it was good at one time, but now we know why there were so few customers there. Key lime pie was not key lime pie, btw, it was some sort of key lime flavored cheesecake with cream topping - no meringue. For one appetizer, two entrees, two beers, and two desserts, dinner came to 98.00. And the food was barely edible. Don't go. Learn from our mistake.
