Genre for rating: Italian, casual Some of the best subs in towns, Joeys is more than just the neighborhood sub and pizza joint. It reminds me of the classic, local Italian joint with great food and friendly service. Subs and pizza are the highlights, but you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Food: **** Service:**** Atmosphere: *** What I get: turkey and roast beef sub with dressing

Ordered 2 huge pizzas. When I got them home there were 2 long hairs in one of the pizzas. When I called back to let them know and ask if I could bring them back to get new ones she said no because it already left the building. Now granted they did leave the building, but that's why it's called take out....Not to mention...I'm bald..

I love this restaurant! The food is incredible. You can tell the owners come from the New Jersey/New York area by how good the food is. I highly recommend the Penne a la Vodka (best vodka sauce ever), the Jenny Salad & the Chicken Marsala... Among other dishes, of course (such as the Stromboli). There are plenty of TVs on the bar side to watch a game, which is great. I truly love this place! Best Italian food in Naples by far.

Great pizza, a little busy during season but that's expected...best pizza in Naples especially since Aurelio's moved to the mall and went total corporate franchise....

Some of the best Italian food in Naples and by far the best Cheesesteak the newly added bar is extremely nice and seems to be like a good some of money was put into the bar. The staff and owners are great too.

Joey Ds was always my favorite pizza/ Italian spot whenever I'm visiting Naples. Unfortunately that was not the case this time. Pizza seemed mediocre. I ordered calamari sautéed in marinara with spinach. Calamari smelled / tasted extremely fishy to the point that I couldn't eat it in fear I would get sick. Also, spinach was frozen not fresh

ok....out and about in N naples..getting hungry...check the yelp mobile..its in the corner of GreenTree plaza (yelp maps are a little off) service a little disjointed but the food was very good....pizza very good... chicken alfredo very good... so next time you are in N Naples and have a hankering for italian...i do recommend you try them out...

Definitely some of the best NY style pizza in Naples. They recently remodeled the entire restaurant, and now it's much easier to get a seat. I will say, as of the time of this review at least, it is REALLY loud in this place. They really need to work on some soundproofing or something. We went the other night and granted, it was packed...but you really had to talk loud in order to be heard at your own table. They didn't have loud music playing or anything like that, and it wasn't a particularly wild crowd...just bad acoustics I think.

Best pizza and cheese steaks. As close to Philly/Jersey as I can get here in Naples! They have cheez wiz so make sure you ask for it!

Casual place, good pizza, good pasta, good drinks. Love the pepperoni bread that comes out before your meal. Pizza was good warmed up the next day:)

We been going to Joe's for several years now, the food most of time is good. The last time the food and service was very disappointing. We had Phylly steak and cheese. The steak had hard pieces of meat big (bones) large pieces of fat, when we told the server she did not even appoligized...she just picked up plates and said thank you with upset face. I guess it is time to find another restaurant with good customer service.

  • Amanda S.

Worst customer service ever. He made me cry on the phone. I will never order again .. probably mostly because he told me not to owner is a jerkyjerk that probably spits in food. Definitely owes me a huge apology. Rudest man ever. Takes 3 hours to get delivery. Food showed up cold.

  • Nick B.

Food is good, service is nothing short of deplorable. Been there about 5 times in the past 2 years, and it's consistently bad. We walked right out for good this time due to the staff's bad attitude.

Walking into Joey D's resturant for the first time I was automatically impressed with the service & atmosphere right away. I didn't know what to expect of the food so I ordered partically everything on the menu for my own abnoxious reasons (plus we had a big group). While we sipped on our tasty cocktails & people watched the line around the block to get to their tables, this was definitely a trendy place to hang out at on Friday night. Once we got our food everything taste amazing and this place has became my Go-to- place for entertaining all my friends that come into town. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves great food and unbelievable service, they didn't disappoint us, & we come back once a week. My personal favorites I recommend are: lemon drop martinis, clams aglio olio, & the chicken francaise, you really can't miss with anything you order there..thank me later!

This is a take out review. DO NOT do takeout if you can not do it properly. We have used Joey D's take out many times and have decided enough is enough. When you call you are automatically are put on hold...it can be two minutes and have timed it yesterday at over 9 minutes. The staff answering the phone are rude and unprofessional. And if by chance you get the answering machine message you are directed "they are busy helping others and don't leave a message because they don't check their messages". They need more staff, or develop a better take out system or skip it all together. It is the blanant rudeness which is most annoying. I would not recommend Joey D's and DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TAKE OUT,

  • Jason P.

Just ok. Definitely not the best pizza in Naples. I'm still searching for the best pizza, so this may be one I cross off my list. They deliver which was the main reason we ordered from them. This pizza isn't bad, but the wings were really not good. They were small, a bit dry, and lacked flavor.

One year ago, Joey D's was so much better than it is today. The pizza was better and the staff was more friendly. I don't know what happened, but Joey D's has really gone down hill. Their staff is always rude, whether its in the restaurant or on the phone calling for delivery. They are obviously untrained. I see this as a reflection on the management, not the staff. Last time we ate in the restaurant the server spilled an entire side of ranch on my friends pants and barley apologized. Didn't do anything about it. His pants were ruined. The staff is young, and needs to be trained. The pizza now isn't as good, its always a big greasy mess now. I wish you guys would wake up and realize that you could do better. You did a year ago. I miss the old Joey D's and the amazing pizza you used to have.

Joey D's is tucked back in the corner of the plaza. Unless you shopped in the plaza you might not know it is there. But alot of people have discovered it. There is a line most every night to get in for supper. Good for them. I had the spaghetti marinara with angel hair pasta and sausage. It was served with a small salad. The pasta was served in a stylish bowl and was plentiful. Took enough home for another meal. Would I return? Absolutely!!! Good going Joey!!!

Went to the new Joey Ds on Davis, such a great atmosphere, great food, great staff. Not being open on Monday is perfectly fine cause the other 6 days their staff and food make up for it. I love love love their Parmesan Cheese!

Love this place. A good time watching football there (as long as you get there before the Browns fans) food is always Good and the staff is always friendly.

This is our go-to place for pizza here. During season you will wait quite some time for delivery, and it's true you are usually put instantly on hold when you call, and sometimes you can't even get through. It 's actually quite frustrating. That being said, everywhere takes a long time during season, and this place gets busy, so it's not surprising. I deal with it because I love the pizza. Plan ahead and call ahead... I gave four stars because even though this is my favorite spot for pizza, the rest of the food isn't my favorite. The chicken alfredo is yummy, the garlic knots are great, and the Stromboli is usually on point. Spaghetti sauce and a lot of other stuff is just meh.

I consider myself a pizza Conisuer and the pizza and cheese steaks are very good. Quick casual and clean. Service is good and priced great for lunch and dinner. A great family place that never disappoints. We eat here a lot and never been disappointed!

Excellent pizza dough and crust. Perfect sweet tomato sauce. 8 cuts in a 16" Large Pizza for $12.95 + $2.00 per topping. Great to see that their is good pizza in Naples for adults and kids.

We wanted to try another local pizza place because Mangino's isn't as fresh as we would like it to be. We ordered a Joey's Special without mushrooms for delivery. The pizza was thin, NY style with amazingly fresh ingredients. The slightly spicy sausage was a perfect touch. Although, slightly soggy upon arrival, we popped a few slices in the oven to crisp them up and it was wonderful! We will order here again!

We have been coming to Joey D's for years and never had a bad meal. The service is always great and they treat you like family. We recently visited their new location on Davis and Airport. It did not disappoint!! Loved the outside bar. Same great food and excellent service!

Second time at the bar, over 3 months. I asked for a menu. Got the menu after ~ 15 min. Hummm... .... i ordered a meal to eat and a pizza to go at the bar.. Getting a second beer took for ever. At the bar they would talk with the "regulars" but not check on you. Finally the order was delivered ...all to go. Remember this is the second time. There are a lot of super sports bars.... shop around.... joe

This is crazy, if you miss Jersey, go there! You are sure to receive a whiff of Jersey air there and the pizza n food is Italian-Bueno. :)

Great place to take the family. Pretty good pizza. Kids liked the Linguini with marinara. They take reservations for parties of 6 or more. Make one because it gets crowded.

Great Italian food in a low key local environment. My wife describes the pasta with clams as the best she's ever had, and they do it either red or white. Their eggplant parm is lightly breaded and still had some crunch even after baked in the red sauce and cheese. Great portions on the dinners! Pizza crust is thin but with a great flavor and a nice tangy red sauce. The staff is always friendly too.

You wouldn't think it would be so hard to find a good restaurant in Naples. It is. This place rocks. The pasta dishes are solid. Chicken Parm- tender inside, perfect outside, good portion size. Definitely a place to frequent.

Someone told me the pizza here was awesome. It lived up to the hype. I like the local vibe. I ordered two pizzas, one margherita and the other pepperoni & sausage. Nice New York style with a lot of flavor. The taste was on point for the margherita with the tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil. I'm looking forward to trying the other italian options on the menu, I may have to up the rating once I have a more complete opinion. UPDATE 12/11/12: Had to up my rating to 5 stars. My favorite place in Naples now.

The pizza and calzones have kept us coming back for years. We live right across the street, in Palm River, and would go there all the time for family dinner or to grab a to-go pizza. The North Naples remodel is absolutely gorgeous! Completely renovated with a full bar and live stage, it looks very modern with an old Italian family feel.

I've been going to Joey Ds for years now. I just tried the new Davis location and it was awesome! The pizza and pasta were delicious. The service was excellent with Joey D himself coming by to make sure our meal was perfect. The outside bar looks so nice and is our new happy hour spot. I will definitely be back!

  • Ali S.

I love their pizza! It's a little on the greasy side (I order the pepperoni and meatball), but the flavor is incredible. It's the first restaurant I go to when I come back home. It gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights and the place is kind of small, so you could end up waiting a while if you go at the dinner hour. But seriously, this is the best pizza in North Naples.

Great pizza!! In Naples on vacation, and we were exhausted the day we got in so we opted for pizza and a night in. Didn't have any pizza recommendations to go off of, and after what started turning into an extensive search, we finally gave in and picked Joey D's. So glad we did! Chose our own toppings, and they were all fresh and fantastic. Also ordered an antipasti salad which was so much larger than expected (always a plus). Planning on picking up another pizza just to have in the fridge. Amazing!

My wife and I came here on her statement that she wants to try many different places in Naples. Me I find something I stay with it. My goodness her radar was on. We ordered a sausage and peperoni pizza. Now my St. Louis friends will take great joy in knowing it did not have my beloved provel. It had the mozzarella which the rest of the world believes should be on a pizza. Mrs K said this is the best pizza she has ever had. Yikes woman turn in your St. Louis Membership card. How can it be the best without provel? So she turns to me with her big brown eyes and says how do you rate this pizza? Err umm, err well it was really good. I mean the crust was perfect as where the toppings. Thin enough to satisfy my thin crust craving but not a cracker crust like Imo's. The sausage was shaved into thin slices not in little balls of delight they do it in the 'Lou. So I am stalling here what did you think? Well I am not ready to turn in my St. Louis card yet. But is was among the best I have had. A note on things I did not have their entrees looked to be copious and served hot and fresh. I must try some of the other things on the menu. But that means I will have to come back here my dear Mrs K.

This is our favorite pizza in Naples! We look forward to going to Joey D's, almost every weekend. Once in a while I even sneak in for a slice at lunchtime! The pizza is just wonderful and the italian sausage is amazing. I know, sometimes it's busy and you have to wait for a table, but when the pizza is this good, it's worth the wait!

Having moved to North Naples full time 2 months ago and being from the Philly/NJ area I looked for a good pizza shop. After trying a few in the area my wife and I really like Joey D's pizza. It's a thinner crust than I'm used too but the flavor matches those between Philly and NY. We like the plain pizza of course but we also like the pepperoni and sausage/peppers pizzas. We also tried the cheese steaks which were also really good. Joey D. must have the rolls shippped from NJ. His rolls are not a soggy version of an Italian roll but rather a crispier roll. For dinner I love the Zuppa di Pecce, the seafood is very tasty and fresh. I order the Aglio Olio (white sauce) with angel hair pasta. The pasta is cooked to perfection and very tasty. My wife likes Jenny D's salad. There are two sides to the restaurant, the pizza/dinning room and the sports bar. You can order the same food on both sides. I'll say the restaurant is lively and a little louder on the sports bar side. The servers are very helpful and pleasant. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food Joey D. serves.

Sat down in outside seating after hostess said she could serve us on a busy Friday night. Then she noticed children, and said we should sit on further tables next to street, after she spoke to manager about where we were seated outside. She said where we were seated was where people sat down to wait for take-out. Seriously???? Joey D's is a great place for take-out pizza. Other than that, sitting down with a family to eat is just way too complicated on a Friday night, even in the outside seating area. We left, and went to NY Pizza and Pasta, where we sat inside and had a great time together, and pizza was fabulous there.

The Veal Marsala was very tough and cold. I sent it back and told the waitress I would simply share the pizza that was already at the table. I was then yelled at by a very loud obnoxious man who was obviously insulted that I sent my dinner back and yelling at me stating it was fresh and that he could cut it with a spoon. That is no way to treat a customer. The experience was very demeaning in front of my family, friends and the rest of the restaurant. As a regular full time North Naples resident I will never return or recommend Joey D's to anyone.

  • Tara W.

Nothing special. Ordered 2 pizza's for delivery and calamari. There's better pizza in Naples. Calamari was from frozen, heavy coating, rubbery. Pizzas were meh. Cost $47. Overrated.

We hostess staff was terrible and unorganized. They can't handle a busy night. We had to leave.

  • Jamie R.

Joe D's stepped up their game by remodeling the interior, expanding into the next retail space so it would have a large bar, more booths and TVs in a separate area. Also, staff are in urban black t-shirts that read "The Neighborhood Italian restaurant." Prices are great. Our party of three had one soup, a shared ceasar and a large pizza. Bill: $31. Plenty of outside seating too along with stone benches for those who wait. Returning snowbird, overheard talking to his wife while passing our table, "..Wow this is like...umm, yeah, home"

5 STARS! 5 STARS! 5 STARS!! THE B*E*S*T PIZZA IN SWFL!! BEST EVER... Period. (They also have wonderful subs, salads, & pastas! AND AMAZING CANNOLI'S! Another plus, they just referbished the entire location, and the new dining room & bar looks and feels incrediable!) Great staff too! Friendly & Professional!

  • Rick S.

Picked up three pizzas, they weren't bad. A 16 inch cheese is $12.99, thats about average, but didn't have any coupons they should have some for the amount of items purchased. Did not see a 18 inch option. The edge crust was a bit lacking, but the pizza was alright. The place had customers so they are doing something right. I think the pizza was average.

  • Rachael J.

Good atmosphere, nice looking bar, always great service & awesome food! Some of my favorites... Appetizers: Eggplant Stack & Calamari. Entrees: Lobster Ravioli, Chicken Parm & Mussels. Pizza: White Pizza & Five Meat. Dessert: Cannoli & Tiramisu Must go!

  • Jeff I.

We had the pizza and it was excellent for thin crust. The only reason why i didnt give it five stars is because we had to wait forever for a waiter to come over and take our order. I highly recommend it.Best pizza in Naples

  • Michael F.

The pizza was good. I think Aurellios and Valento's on 41 is better. Meatball sub was tasty. They do a good business in a strip mall. Some outdoor seating. Seems more comfortable than most pizza restaurants I have been in around Naples.

    (3)
  • K V.

First time visit and it was ok for a restaurant in a strip mall. We had two appetizers which were good. Salad was a little lifeless with too sweet Italian dressing. The table had pizza which was a little soggy, calzones and stromboli were crusty and good. The pastas were the best part of the meal. I would maybe try it again if Tony Sacco's was busy.

Best cheesesteaks I've had in the south. Very good toasted rolls. Right proportion of bread to steak to cheese. Only complaint is not enough meat on it. Overall good. Excellent pizza too

Love Joey D's. Just moved to the area and we were pleasantly surprised with the wonderful pizza. It may be a neighborhood spot, but if you are in the area stop by and enjoy a meal like no other. Newly remodeled and friendly and professional service. Love it!!!!!!

  • SImon B.

Probably one of top 1 or 2 NY style pizza places in town. A very neighborhood kind of place in the Greentree shopping center. It might put a new newcomers off that it's a somewhat local crowd where most of the people are regulars, but don't let that stop you from trying it. Everything is great and the food is always fast and hot. If you're a fan of Aurelio's, don't bother. It is nothing like that square-cut cracker nonsense.

  • Yelp N.

Loved the food. Got the chicken parm. And pepperoni rolls they bring out are awesome. Salad was perfect with ranch. Hold the olives and onions. Got garlic bread which was tasty! The waitress didnt seem to like our picky order. But she was having a bad day. And took it out on us I guess. Who knows. Food was amazing. Finally in naples !! Would have given 5 stars.. but the waitress was so rude to us..,it was insane.. I thought I was being punk'd

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
