I would agree with almost every review here. Even the bad ones. The main point here is that the food tastes good. Sure it's a little overpriced and the service is nothing to get excited about but I always like the food. I've been here about 4 times now and every dish has been enjoyable. Were they great? Probably not. They were good though. This is probably the best Chinese place in the Naples/Bonita Springs area. That's because we don't have too many chinese places to eat. Given the current food trends I would hope they pick up on local ingredients. They could very well take a lesson from Chipotle. Get rid of the artificial ingredients and go for natural flavors. They're a little behind the curve on this one but Naples restaurants are largely populated by overweight old people who like tradition.

Well then congratulations-- you're boring! Dining out should be an experience of some kind. Do something wild. Do something tried and true but with integrity or panache! With Charlie Changs, we've got standard fare done underwhelmingly plain. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, Vegetable Fried Rice, General Tso's Chicken, and some Sushi Rolls. All done average to well, mind you. All done exactly as you'd expect. The prices are slightly elevated from a standard American Chinese Restaurant, but the quality of the food fails to match. The meat hiding behind these dishes does not come across as freshly moist and tender. The sauces and flavors have that same grocery aisle staleness. P.F. Changs has it beat. Definitely a pass.

One of the few Asian restaurants around that captures the taste of classic 80s/90s Asian restuarants. Old school Chinese with an updated 20-teens atmosphere. Beautiful modern decor with delicious authentic flavor. We started with the potstickers, which were one of the best we've had. Then egg drop soup, which tasted great and authentic. The fried rice with pork and chicken was tasty, but we both really enjoyed the lo mein with steak and shrimp.

My husband and I came here for lunch. Place was empty, very peaceful and quiet. Very clean atmosphere and great food! We had hot and sour soup, which was SO GOOD! We had crab wontons, which has real crab meat in them and shrimp pad Thai. It was SO GOOD! My husband and I shared the plate and had left overs to take. I would of given this a five star BUT we wanted sushi also but there is only one person that does sushi in that whole place, and he wasn't there so they weren't serving sushi at that time. He had to run to the airport. They need someone else to make some sushi because that place, I heard, makes awesome sushi!!!! Can't wait to go back!

This was a stand up Japanese restaurant. Although it's attached to a Hotel, it has an authentic feel to it. We went for lunch and it was a solid 3.5. Sushi and sashimi was good. Miso was good but a bit too much tofu (more broth would be perfect) but the flavor was good (no blown away but good) and my girlfriend had a grilled Chinese dish and it was fine also. Service was great. Prices were fair. Atmosphere was fine. Nice lunch spot overall.

4 1/2 STARS We went to Charlie Chiang's with some trepidation. We had lunch there about four years ago and were underwhelmed. But it was running a Peking Duck special and we were tempted. Well, were we pleasantly surprised! The restaurant had undergone a facelift since our last visit and now sports a bright and spacious entry, along with sleek tables and a good number of wide and comfortable booths. The waitpersons were cheerful and attentive. But it was the duck that stole the show. It came to our table-side piping hot, its perfectly bronzed skin glistening. The carver was excellent; he dexterously dismembered the limbs, then sliced the skin and meat thin, and removed fat from each piece of the skin. The beautifully plated duck came with the traditional accompaniments: pancakes, sliced scallions and hoisin sauce, but also thinly sliced cucumbers--a welcome innovative touch. The pancakes were a little too thick and chewy, but the duck was roasted and served perfectly. We have eaten Peking Duck countless times in different continents, and this is as good as any. Kudos, Charlie!

Thanks for ruining my Mother's Day meal. So sad, this place has cut corners so bad, save your money and time, go to any Chinese Take out instead. The only thing that hasn't changed are the high prices, quality has dropped like the stock market depression. Chow fun is not the real deal. It is actually cheap pad thai rice noodles which are not fresh, should have read my own review! Go to Chinatown on Pine Ridge, it is $8 for the same but fresh, savory dish. Ordered the tofu egg plant, it was covered in thick gravy like sauce, tasted like a typical American dish, heavy on flavor, take out quality. You could count the Tofu cubes in one hand. Sent back the noodles, they were cold and tasteless. Replaced with Moo Shu pancakes, no covers for the pancakes so they stayed cold, server had no sense and delivered it with no hoisin or sauces, when we asked, he gives it to us with no utensils. Server was a Russian, I don't mind, if he would only know the menu. Obvious they do not train him. For these prices, $39 for one dish, really? A homeless man off the streets with common sense would do better. To say it was a major disappointment is like saying the Titanic had a small leak. Sorry, never again. Wasted not only our money, but time and memories.

How can a restaurant get a 5 star Zagat rating and uses MSG in most of it's dishes? It's a slap in the face to real fine dining of Chinese Food everywhere. Seriously consider eating elsewhere if you think the food is as good as the decor because it's not. I had your basic Wonton Soup there and first taste was pure MSG. It was so basic for a high price. I'm talking about broth, scallions, and 2 wontons. Pathetic. I'm done with "Chinese food" in Naples. It's flat out awful. There is no pride taken in making the dishes like you see in the East Coast or West Coast. The dish my roommate ordered was the special. Beef and sauteed vegetables with rice. The brown sauce was tough to take down. Along with my spicy beef dish I ordered. It's all crap over loaded with MSG. You have to ask them not to put MSG in the food before they make it so if you decide to go make sure you tell them that. If you have read my other reviews you understand I can be harsh, but I;m telling the truth like this because high prices should come with class and good ingredients. Not slop thrown together and made to order like a fast food joint. Charlie Chaings "twist" is you getting screwed.

Again, I'm shocked that I'm giving 5 stars, because hardly any restaurant in FL is truly deserving, but it was FABULOUS! But it's Zagat rated 2013 and spot on! Power outage fried our stove so it was the usual "where should we settle on going for dinner". I won with Charlie Chiang's. For those other reviewers obsessed with decor, this place looks more like South Beach than in the side of a Double Tree hotel in Naples. 5 stars for the Asian-mod decor. It's inspiring to eat in such beauty. The food - awww yea! The menu offers traditional Chinese dishes and sushi. We had both ethnic entrees on our visit. We sushi chef select the sushi and it was some of the best sushi I've eaten in SWFL. The Sichuan Seafood Dumplings were exquisite. Seriously, if I was at home, I would have drank the broth they were served in. But manners and being in public stopped me. For my entree, I ordered the Shiny Slippery Shrimp - which is a crunchy tempura-like shrimp stir fried with garlic and tossed with a vinegar-sriracha sauce that's slightly sweet & slightly spicy. I am still wishing I could eat this once a week. I can't wait to go back!

Was craving sushi while passing through Naples and found this place. So glad I did. It was DEE-LISH! Mmmmm...sooo good! You enter and think "ooh fancy" as it is very nicely decorated in a classy way. They also have outside seating where you are surrounded by pretty flowers and gardens. It's not really a large area but it was very nice to look at. I sat inside as during the summer it's just too hot to be outside. Anyways, excellent appetizers! We had the Spicy Tangy Dumplings (I didn't think they were too spicy) but they could be for someone else. These were amazing delicate dumplings that melt in your mouth as if they found heaven on your tongue. Yes, this is how it felt! Also had the Chicken Gyoza, very, very good! I've had these at so many places most times it's just ok, here at Charlie's they were somehow just SO much better. I also very much enjoyed the Chicken Lo Mein, Tuna roll & Escolar, all were perfect! The service was wonderful as well. Sweet, friendly, attentive, we had everything we needed and she was also great at answering any questions I had about the menu. Overall, excellent meal with wonderful service in a beautiful restaurant. If I was a local this would be my go to Asian & Sushi restaurant.

When you walk through the doors, the decor and atmosphere makes you feel like you are at a sheik Sushi bar in NY ... as to the reality of being in a restaurant attached to a Double Tree Hotel in Naples. The Sushi here is amazing. I would have to arguably say that it's the best Sushi in Naples. In the off season, they have half price sushi on Tuesdays. Charlie Chiangs is definitely a hidden gem a must for any Sushi lover.

I always hate giving restaurants bad reviews, but hey, they have to know. Came to Naples to visit family and they were ranting and raving about how good the food is at this location. I had the basic "safe dish" whenever trying a new Chinese restaurant... Chicken with Broccoli. I asked to add a few things and make the sauce spicy..... I could not believe that a "Chinese" place did not have carrots or water chestnuts to add to the dish. Does anyone eat vegetables anymore? The chicken literally had NO taste, but the Broccoli and the sauce (though not spicy at all) was very tasty. The egg drop soup was PHENOMENAL. I also tried my parents dishes too (it was a take off of pad thai.... simply put, just no taste). I should note I am from NYC and (no offense to the Naples Residents), the majority of the restaurants in your area, are all smoke and mirror (Beautiful decor on the inside, but the food almost always tends to be nothing more than just a small step above Applebees quality (but if you are not from nyc you do not know any better). Would I try this place again? Yes, but I would try different dishes. On a good note, the place is gorgeous inside and the Waitress and Managers are extremely friendly.

So upon learning that they had Dim Sum, we (family) went there to try it. They do not really have Dim Sum, it's really an extension of their appetizer menu, no roast pork buns, shi mai, crepes wrap with beef or shrimp, shrimp dumpling, chicken feet. The only thing closed to Dim Sum is pan fried dumplings. The prices here are very expensive for American Style Chinese food which is what they mostly serve for exception of the Duck, it's also salty and oily. Otherwise most of the dishes can be had at local takeout for half the price. Also the portions are very small, we spend 85.00 for lunch for 2 adults and 3 little kids (no drinks) and we were definitely not full when we left. Food was awesome, got the gumbo shrimp lo mein (specify the jumbo shrimp otherwise you'll get tiny salad shrimp). Made a reservation for 7pm on a Friday and the place was packed. We got there and were sat immediately. Atmosphere is fun and classy but all of the older folk were filling up the place. Service was slow and disappointing but the lo mein made up for it. We tried the dumplings and lettuce wraps and thought the lettuce wraps were more mixed veggie wraps than anything. It was agreed at the table the veggies seemed as though they were from a can. Amazing sushi-reccommend Mango Tango roll and Crystal Roll. They are very friendly, though maybe a little pricey compared to AZN or Blue Sushi (my other two favorites). So, I just saw that the "management" of this place has emailed me and tried to undermine my credibility. Well, for your information, as I responded to them in a private message, the only other place that I used this particular credit card was Publix, one time and I swiped it in the machine so that there is no way that anyone could have stolen my credit card information. In addition, when I was telling my colleagues to check their credit card statements, my boss said that she was called, also by American Express, because someone was trying to charge HER card for $600 at Sears and she has never shopped there in her life.(And she also gave her CC over the phone when we ordered lunch) So this is obviously not a "one-time" thing and I would definitely beware. In the future try and go to a place that you can physically swipe your card and also a place that takes accountability for their or their employees' actions.

These couple of stars are for WebSite execution. First, kudos for even offering 1) home delivery and 2) online ordering. But get with 2012, people! There's a charliechiang.com announcement online for "free delivery and a ten percent discount for online ordering." Cool. But here's what really happens. Last evening, we ordered online and noticed that the delivery menu was about ten percent more expensive than going in to eat at the restaurant. So that washed the ten percent incentive. Then the free delivery became a $2 charge on the order verification screen, and then a $3 charge on the checkout screen. I don't mind paying for delivery, but truth in advertising or at least a good edit is overdue. btw, the order arrived in half the projected 45 minutes' delivery time. The food was quite satisfying and hot. We tipped the driver, not knowing from our online experience if the delivery fee was for the resto or for the driver. Would have been nice to know that detail, too.

You can tell the Chefs in here are really proud of the job they put in. You can tell it's quality over quantity. Went to Charlie Chiang's while staying at the Double Tree. We had a 7:00pm reservation, got there checked in, received our beeper and were told it would be about a 10 minute wait. Thirty minutes later we checked with the hostess, as I noticed people who had come in after us were being seated. Surprise, surprise "they lost our reservation, but have a table they could seat us at." A little bull on the hostesses part. We ordered two of the special dishes, spare ribs and chicken with apples as well as pan fried noodles with veggies and shrimp. Food was good not great. Lots of MSG and soy sauce. Prices were average but seemed high based on the quality of the food. Our server Carol was great. Friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The decor of the restaurant is attractive but the noise level and close proximity of the tables make it difficult to converse with your table mates.

We felt the spring rolls were good, but not excellent. The Won Ton was iffy and the Sweet & Sour was, as someone else indicated, neither sweet nor sour. The Honey chicken was good but the General Tso lacked any "kick". I would ask for a little extra heat if I ordered it again. Last is the Cheesecake Tempura; my wife only said "I like my cheesecake cold", I, on the other hand, felt it was excellent. The decor is very nice and they have outdoor seating overlooking the river.

After unsuccessfully trying to find Wilford Brimley's house in Sanibel, I had to make myself feel better with some Chinese food. Unfortunately, I was in Naples, far away from most of my usual haunts. After Yelp provided a lot of information on where not to go, I ended up settling on Charlie Chiang's. We didn't manage to get a seat outside, but from what I could tell, the view was pretty much of a drainage canal that didn't have a lot of aesthetic appeal to it. The staff were all friendly, with even waitstaff who hadn't helped us saying hello and goodbye on our way in and out. The crispy beef was delicious, the crab rangoon were solid and not greasy, and the honey chicken had a nice flavor. Portion sizes were good, and the prices seemed fine to me. It's not dirt cheap, but to be honest, I've never wanted my Chinese food to be priced like it's on sale. And of course it's Americanized...anyone complaining about a lack of authenticity needs to buy themself a one-way ticket to Beijing and stop being obnoxious.

Food is probably good if it's hot. After receiving four carry out menus in two weeks, we called and ordered delivery last night. (Their server was down so we couldn't order on-line.) Food was promised in 45 minutes. We started calling after an hour and a quarter, but their phone was answered by a machine saying they were too busy to talk. Luke-warm food showed up sometime later, just as we were getting out the fying plan to make eggs and bacon! As I said, the food is good...but hardly worth the hassle.

Well then congratulations-- you're boring! Dining out should be an experience of some kind. Do something wild. Do something tried and true but with integrity or panache! With Charlie Changs, we've got standard fare done underwhelmingly plain. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, Vegetable Fried Rice, General Tso's Chicken, and some Sushi Rolls. All done average to well, mind you. All done exactly as you'd expect. The prices are slightly elevated from a standard American Chinese Restaurant, but the quality of the food fails to match. The meat hiding behind these dishes does not come across as freshly moist and tender. The sauces and flavors have that same grocery aisle staleness. P.F. Changs has it beat. Definitely a pass.

One of the few Asian restaurants around that captures the taste of classic 80s/90s Asian restuarants. Old school Chinese with an updated 20-teens atmosphere. Beautiful modern decor with delicious authentic flavor. We started with the potstickers, which were one of the best we've had. Then egg drop soup, which tasted great and authentic. The fried rice with pork and chicken was tasty, but we both really enjoyed the lo mein with steak and shrimp.

My husband and I came here for lunch. Place was empty, very peaceful and quiet. Very clean atmosphere and great food! We had hot and sour soup, which was SO GOOD! We had crab wontons, which has real crab meat in them and shrimp pad Thai. It was SO GOOD! My husband and I shared the plate and had left overs to take. I would of given this a five star BUT we wanted sushi also but there is only one person that does sushi in that whole place, and he wasn't there so they weren't serving sushi at that time. He had to run to the airport. They need someone else to make some sushi because that place, I heard, makes awesome sushi!!!! Can't wait to go back!

This was a stand up Japanese restaurant. Although it's attached to a Hotel, it has an authentic feel to it. We went for lunch and it was a solid 3.5. Sushi and sashimi was good. Miso was good but a bit too much tofu (more broth would be perfect) but the flavor was good (no blown away but good) and my girlfriend had a grilled Chinese dish and it was fine also. Service was great. Prices were fair. Atmosphere was fine. Nice lunch spot overall.

4 1/2 STARS We went to Charlie Chiang's with some trepidation. We had lunch there about four years ago and were underwhelmed. But it was running a Peking Duck special and we were tempted. Well, were we pleasantly surprised! The restaurant had undergone a facelift since our last visit and now sports a bright and spacious entry, along with sleek tables and a good number of wide and comfortable booths. The waitpersons were cheerful and attentive. But it was the duck that stole the show. It came to our table-side piping hot, its perfectly bronzed skin glistening. The carver was excellent; he dexterously dismembered the limbs, then sliced the skin and meat thin, and removed fat from each piece of the skin. The beautifully plated duck came with the traditional accompaniments: pancakes, sliced scallions and hoisin sauce, but also thinly sliced cucumbers--a welcome innovative touch. The pancakes were a little too thick and chewy, but the duck was roasted and served perfectly. We have eaten Peking Duck countless times in different continents, and this is as good as any. Kudos, Charlie!

Food is good but over priced. Had the pad Thai noodles and the lemon black pepper steak. Pepper steak good but the lemon taste is pretty strong. Pad Thai noodles little ask for extra sauce on the side. Service is nice just tell them what you want. I love food and I eat at a lot of restaurants, so I could be a little hard. But check it out for yourself.

Crispy Duck was fantastic. Presentation and flavoring was great. The pan fried noodles used cake noodles I have not seen since I lived in Hawaii . I forgot hot nice and wan this place is. Even there sushi was good. A little more authentic than P. F. Changs. I like the brown rice and the Japanese food as well.

Thanks for ruining my Mother's Day meal. So sad, this place has cut corners so bad, save your money and time, go to any Chinese Take out instead. The only thing that hasn't changed are the high prices, quality has dropped like the stock market depression. Chow fun is not the real deal. It is actually cheap pad thai rice noodles which are not fresh, should have read my own review! Go to Chinatown on Pine Ridge, it is $8 for the same but fresh, savory dish. Ordered the tofu egg plant, it was covered in thick gravy like sauce, tasted like a typical American dish, heavy on flavor, take out quality. You could count the Tofu cubes in one hand. Sent back the noodles, they were cold and tasteless. Replaced with Moo Shu pancakes, no covers for the pancakes so they stayed cold, server had no sense and delivered it with no hoisin or sauces, when we asked, he gives it to us with no utensils. Server was a Russian, I don't mind, if he would only know the menu. Obvious they do not train him. For these prices, $39 for one dish, really? A homeless man off the streets with common sense would do better. To say it was a major disappointment is like saying the Titanic had a small leak. Sorry, never again. Wasted not only our money, but time and memories.

How can a restaurant get a 5 star Zagat rating and uses MSG in most of it's dishes? It's a slap in the face to real fine dining of Chinese Food everywhere. Seriously consider eating elsewhere if you think the food is as good as the decor because it's not. I had your basic Wonton Soup there and first taste was pure MSG. It was so basic for a high price. I'm talking about broth, scallions, and 2 wontons. Pathetic. I'm done with "Chinese food" in Naples. It's flat out awful. There is no pride taken in making the dishes like you see in the East Coast or West Coast. The dish my roommate ordered was the special. Beef and sauteed vegetables with rice. The brown sauce was tough to take down. Along with my spicy beef dish I ordered. It's all crap over loaded with MSG. You have to ask them not to put MSG in the food before they make it so if you decide to go make sure you tell them that. If you have read my other reviews you understand I can be harsh, but I;m telling the truth like this because high prices should come with class and good ingredients. Not slop thrown together and made to order like a fast food joint. Charlie Chaings "twist" is you getting screwed.

Again, I'm shocked that I'm giving 5 stars, because hardly any restaurant in FL is truly deserving, but it was FABULOUS! But it's Zagat rated 2013 and spot on! Power outage fried our stove so it was the usual "where should we settle on going for dinner". I won with Charlie Chiang's. For those other reviewers obsessed with decor, this place looks more like South Beach than in the side of a Double Tree hotel in Naples. 5 stars for the Asian-mod decor. It's inspiring to eat in such beauty. The food - awww yea! The menu offers traditional Chinese dishes and sushi. We had both ethnic entrees on our visit. We sushi chef select the sushi and it was some of the best sushi I've eaten in SWFL. The Sichuan Seafood Dumplings were exquisite. Seriously, if I was at home, I would have drank the broth they were served in. But manners and being in public stopped me. For my entree, I ordered the Shiny Slippery Shrimp - which is a crunchy tempura-like shrimp stir fried with garlic and tossed with a vinegar-sriracha sauce that's slightly sweet & slightly spicy. I am still wishing I could eat this once a week. I can't wait to go back!

Was craving sushi while passing through Naples and found this place. So glad I did. It was DEE-LISH! Mmmmm...sooo good! You enter and think "ooh fancy" as it is very nicely decorated in a classy way. They also have outside seating where you are surrounded by pretty flowers and gardens. It's not really a large area but it was very nice to look at. I sat inside as during the summer it's just too hot to be outside. Anyways, excellent appetizers! We had the Spicy Tangy Dumplings (I didn't think they were too spicy) but they could be for someone else. These were amazing delicate dumplings that melt in your mouth as if they found heaven on your tongue. Yes, this is how it felt! Also had the Chicken Gyoza, very, very good! I've had these at so many places most times it's just ok, here at Charlie's they were somehow just SO much better. I also very much enjoyed the Chicken Lo Mein, Tuna roll & Escolar, all were perfect! The service was wonderful as well. Sweet, friendly, attentive, we had everything we needed and she was also great at answering any questions I had about the menu. Overall, excellent meal with wonderful service in a beautiful restaurant. If I was a local this would be my go to Asian & Sushi restaurant.

When you walk through the doors, the decor and atmosphere makes you feel like you are at a sheik Sushi bar in NY ... as to the reality of being in a restaurant attached to a Double Tree Hotel in Naples. The Sushi here is amazing. I would have to arguably say that it's the best Sushi in Naples. In the off season, they have half price sushi on Tuesdays. Charlie Chiangs is definitely a hidden gem a must for any Sushi lover.

I always hate giving restaurants bad reviews, but hey, they have to know. Came to Naples to visit family and they were ranting and raving about how good the food is at this location. I had the basic "safe dish" whenever trying a new Chinese restaurant... Chicken with Broccoli. I asked to add a few things and make the sauce spicy..... I could not believe that a "Chinese" place did not have carrots or water chestnuts to add to the dish. Does anyone eat vegetables anymore? The chicken literally had NO taste, but the Broccoli and the sauce (though not spicy at all) was very tasty. The egg drop soup was PHENOMENAL. I also tried my parents dishes too (it was a take off of pad thai.... simply put, just no taste). I should note I am from NYC and (no offense to the Naples Residents), the majority of the restaurants in your area, are all smoke and mirror (Beautiful decor on the inside, but the food almost always tends to be nothing more than just a small step above Applebees quality (but if you are not from nyc you do not know any better). Would I try this place again? Yes, but I would try different dishes. On a good note, the place is gorgeous inside and the Waitress and Managers are extremely friendly.

So upon learning that they had Dim Sum, we (family) went there to try it. They do not really have Dim Sum, it's really an extension of their appetizer menu, no roast pork buns, shi mai, crepes wrap with beef or shrimp, shrimp dumpling, chicken feet. The only thing closed to Dim Sum is pan fried dumplings. The prices here are very expensive for American Style Chinese food which is what they mostly serve for exception of the Duck, it's also salty and oily. Otherwise most of the dishes can be had at local takeout for half the price. Also the portions are very small, we spend 85.00 for lunch for 2 adults and 3 little kids (no drinks) and we were definitely not full when we left. Food was awesome, got the gumbo shrimp lo mein (specify the jumbo shrimp otherwise you'll get tiny salad shrimp). Made a reservation for 7pm on a Friday and the place was packed. We got there and were sat immediately. Atmosphere is fun and classy but all of the older folk were filling up the place. Service was slow and disappointing but the lo mein made up for it. We tried the dumplings and lettuce wraps and thought the lettuce wraps were more mixed veggie wraps than anything. It was agreed at the table the veggies seemed as though they were from a can. The dumplings were better though. We will be going back for sure

Totally awesome New Years party. Dinner and drinks with the family, this place was a smash hit. We all had the Peking duck, fried rice, land and sea, etc etc. We also started with sushi appetizers and I definitely recommend the spicier rolls! Wine and champagne and the tempura ice cream to top it all off! It was delicious with fantastic service.

Amazing sushi-reccommend Mango Tango roll and Crystal Roll. They are very friendly, though maybe a little pricey compared to AZN or Blue Sushi (my other two favorites). It's always pretty empty when I go in which leads to a nice quiet atmosphere and good service. I just found out they deliver which puts them at the top of my sushi list!

So, I just saw that the "management" of this place has emailed me and tried to undermine my credibility. Well, for your information, as I responded to them in a private message, the only other place that I used this particular credit card was Publix, one time and I swiped it in the machine so that there is no way that anyone could have stolen my credit card information. In addition, when I was telling my colleagues to check their credit card statements, my boss said that she was called, also by American Express, because someone was trying to charge HER card for $600 at Sears and she has never shopped there in her life.(And she also gave her CC over the phone when we ordered lunch) So this is obviously not a "one-time" thing and I would definitely beware. In the future try and go to a place that you can physically swipe your card and also a place that takes accountability for their or their employees' actions.

My husband and I went to Charlie Chiang's Restaurant to celebrate my birthday while staying at Doubletree Suites. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with vegetables and my husband ordered purple eggplant with tofu and brown rice. Both dishes were delicious. We even got complimentary fried cheesecake for my birthday celebration. Excellent Saturday lunch with good customer service!

These couple of stars are for WebSite execution. First, kudos for even offering 1) home delivery and 2) online ordering. But get with 2012, people! There's a charliechiang.com announcement online for "free delivery and a ten percent discount for online ordering." Cool. But here's what really happens. Last evening, we ordered online and noticed that the delivery menu was about ten percent more expensive than going in to eat at the restaurant. So that washed the ten percent incentive. Then the free delivery became a $2 charge on the order verification screen, and then a $3 charge on the checkout screen. I don't mind paying for delivery, but truth in advertising or at least a good edit is overdue. btw, the order arrived in half the projected 45 minutes' delivery time. The food was quite satisfying and hot. We tipped the driver, not knowing from our online experience if the delivery fee was for the resto or for the driver. Would have been nice to know that detail, too.

A friend of mine is absolutely inlove with this place that brought my wife and I to this fabolous restaurant. Charlie Chiangs is not your average chinese restaurant. You can tell the Chefs in here are really proud of the job they put in. You can tell it's quality over quantity. Personally, I'm not the type of guy that would pay 24$ a plate for a chinese restaurant, but in this place I WOULD. I will deff be back and very glad my friend brought me here.

Went to Charlie Chiang's while staying at the Double Tree. We had a 7:00pm reservation, got there checked in, received our beeper and were told it would be about a 10 minute wait. Thirty minutes later we checked with the hostess, as I noticed people who had come in after us were being seated. Surprise, surprise "they lost our reservation, but have a table they could seat us at." A little bull on the hostesses part. We ordered two of the special dishes, spare ribs and chicken with apples as well as pan fried noodles with veggies and shrimp. Food was good not great. Lots of MSG and soy sauce. Prices were average but seemed high based on the quality of the food. Our server Carol was great. Friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The decor of the restaurant is attractive but the noise level and close proximity of the tables make it difficult to converse with your table mates.

We ate from the fixed price menu. We had spring rolls, Won Ton & Sweet & Sour soup, General Tso & Honey ? chicken with Cheesecake Tempura dessert. We felt the spring rolls were good, but not excellent. The Won Ton was iffy and the Sweet & Sour was, as someone else indicated, neither sweet nor sour. The Honey chicken was good but the General Tso lacked any "kick". I would ask for a little extra heat if I ordered it again. Last is the Cheesecake Tempura; my wife only said "I like my cheesecake cold", I, on the other hand, felt it was excellent. The decor is very nice and they have outdoor seating overlooking the river.

I ordered the pancakes, edamame, veg fried rice, and Buddhas belly with no tofu. Overall, this was garbage! This was the worst $30 I've spent on a meal in a long time. The pancakes had no flavor and were pure grease (my stomach hurt just from opening the $5 package of 4 and smelling the intensity of the oil they were fried in). The edamame tasted like it was sautéed In soy sauce; they overdid the sodium on them to the point that such a light food felt really heavy. The vegetables and the veggie fried rice were on the verge of inedible, especially since they were so expensive! They didn't even let me get smaller portions of the sides and the veggies; pancakes come with 4 minimum and you can't get pineapple rice unless you wanna pay $10 for a side. This was equivalent to low quality Miami Chinese takeout where the meat itself is a mystery. I knew I shouldn't have ordered from them based on the other reviews, but the concierge at the doubletree recommended them AND they delivered to my door in 20 minutes so I didn't have to get dressed or leave. Now that I think about it, it was almost brought to me too quickly; how long was it sitting there? Did they just microwave it? In these plastic containers? :'/ I should have just gotten another doubletree cookie.

After unsuccessfully trying to find Wilford Brimley's house in Sanibel, I had to make myself feel better with some Chinese food. Unfortunately, I was in Naples, far away from most of my usual haunts. After Yelp provided a lot of information on where not to go, I ended up settling on Charlie Chiang's. We didn't manage to get a seat outside, but from what I could tell, the view was pretty much of a drainage canal that didn't have a lot of aesthetic appeal to it. The staff were all friendly, with even waitstaff who hadn't helped us saying hello and goodbye on our way in and out. The crispy beef was delicious, the crab rangoon were solid and not greasy, and the honey chicken had a nice flavor. Portion sizes were good, and the prices seemed fine to me. It's not dirt cheap, but to be honest, I've never wanted my Chinese food to be priced like it's on sale. And of course it's Americanized...anyone complaining about a lack of authenticity needs to buy themself a one-way ticket to Beijing and stop being obnoxious.

Just watch out for the really hot pepper that comes in the Crispy Beef- thought it was a piece of beef - popped it into my mouth and had to leave table, walk outside and catch my breath. I was in Naples for Thanksgiving weekend and decided to have dinner on Saturday night. My decision to visit this establishment was based on reviews I had read on YELP. Guess you can't always believe what you read! I can honestly say that the food was average at best and the service was poor, especially since it wasn't busy and they were over staffed. Investing in training of the staff and developing the flavor palate of your chef, might help give your customers a better experience

Food is probably good if it's hot. After receiving four carry out menus in two weeks, we called and ordered delivery last night. (Their server was down so we couldn't order on-line.) Food was promised in 45 minutes. We started calling after an hour and a quarter, but their phone was answered by a machine saying they were too busy to talk. Luke-warm food showed up sometime later, just as we were getting out the fying plan to make eggs and bacon! As I said, the food is good...but hardly worth the hassle.
