My wife and I had one of our worst dining experiences in a long time there recently, for the sum of $87+ tip. The service was almost laughable. The poor waitress they had assigned to our table could barely speak English, knew nothing about the menu or the winelist and got lost several times during the course of this torture. This place is dark and reminiscent of "Italian" restaurants of the 60's. The only thing missing are the Chianti bottles with candles in them. WHen you look close, it looks like the place hasn't been really cleaned since it was opened. I ordered a dish that they alleged was served with a "light marinara sauce", sauteed chicken and broccoli. When it arrived, the past was swimming in a pool of brown gravy. I complained and finally got a woman who allegedly was the manager to come to the table. I told her that sure did not look like any marinara sauce I have ever seen and she said... "It is light marinara, to make that we blend brown sauce with our regular marinara". I have been cooking for over 40 yeares and eaten in Italian restaurants all over the world and NEVER had a "light marinara" that was made that way. Porcini restaurant in Philly makes one, according to its website, that is simple a very light tomato sauce. The one on this pasta was all BROWN sauce. To her credit, she offered to take it back and replace it, but my wife had her food in front of her, and I did not want to have the whole dinner pace fouled up. So, foolishly, I kept it and tried to eat it. The pasta was bland, the sauce did not adhere at all. The chicken was completely dried out and like shoe leather and the "light marinara sauce" tasted like it was just poured from a can of Heinz canned brown gravy. The bill came and no deductions at all. No free glass of wine, nothing. We had eaten here about a half a dozen times before and had mediocre, but decent meals. After this, never again.

We have been twice. The first time we sat on restaurant side. Had the veal chop. Very tasty, but small for the money We went back and sat at bar and had pizza, it was good. Very friendly bartenders. We liked atmosphere. Would go back

Just had another great lunch at Capriccio. I have not been here very often for dinner but do not overlook this place for lunch. The individual pizzas are nicely done and the "Hot Heros" are awesome. I like "The Boatman" hero - not on the menu but a favorite for over a year now. Grilled chicken with marinara, jalapeños, onions, sweet peppers, mushrooms - mildly spicy with the freshest ingredients. The other can't miss Heros are the Sausage Parmigiana (hot) and the Salami & Cheese (cold, and add some sweet onion).

I had been to this restaurant before, when they were small. They have added rooms in the back and now the kitchen can't handle all the additional seating capacity. We waited and waited for dinner, like an hour, when it came out my husbands lasagna was ok, but my chicken rollotelle had been prepared years ago, and the chicken was super rubbery. We then I proceeded to wait another hour or so while they attempted to cook something else, finally leaving with no food. The worse part they had a large party of 9 elderly gentlemen seated in the middle of the room, who were drinking large amounts of wine, they yelled and screamed at each other across the table. People were finishing their meals as soon as possible and leaving because of their rude behavior. When I spoke with the hostesses, she stated; "the boys are kind of loud and we have asked them to keep it down." You would think she was talking about some eight year olds instead of grown men. Even one of the waitress commented to us on their loud obnoxious behavior. I was amazed that a bunch of 70 year old men had no class, manners or were aware of how disruptive they were. You could tell they were tourist rude, rude, rude. Stay away from this restaurant until they figure out how to accommodate the additional demand, and most important how to manage a restaurant. The loud obnoxious table should have been asked to leave.

The veal is like leather, well done leather... Talked to the staff and they were surprised and did nothing.... Enjoy, consider yourself warned...

You know it's going to be a good meal when the bread they throw on the table is amazing and you can't have enough of it. Hot garlic bread that was so moist and good, it watered your mouth. I started with some wine, which was very good. The hostess/owner was very nice and friendly. We made reservations but they didn't have them but she took care of us anyways. Father gave her a tip not know until later she was the owner. Our waitress wasn't the greatest, she had a hard time understanding us. We also had a hard time understanding her as her English was not that great. I ordered the fish special which had seabass in a white wine sauce over pasta. It was good but not great, the fish was a little to soggy from the sauce but it still tasted good. Our calamari was huge, we didn't finish it for fear we wouldn't be able to eat our entre. My dad got the same thing but got the pasta on the side. After dinner he had coffee and I ordered a martini, it took forever for her to bring the martini. She even came back to ask me what I wanted again, which after saying it twice I pointed to it on the drink menu. She almost forgot our doggy bag. I would go back there, since a lot of people in Naples from Chicago love this place. The food was good just our waitress was okay at best. It was valentines day and all the females got red roses, which was nice.

Pasta, Pasta, Pasta, if you love fresh made pasta you gotta try this Italian joint. Yes, the place is in a strip mall, but so is everything else in Naples, off of 5th St. The Some of the best pasta, family owned, and really good wine without the markup!

The bruschetta was Awesome! Pizza 6 stars, but service is ok. My buddy and I sat the bar for a couple of beers while we bash stories about the wifes, typical guys night out lol. The bartender was on top of her on service ,but on relations with the guests I ll have to say none.

Some days, you just crave pasta and red wine and a few strains of calzone Napoletano. Capriccio's is a neat refuge for this. The interior looks like midnight in the garden of an Italian villa. Twinkly white lights are threaded above a rim of tile, suspended like the edge of a faux roof over the black leather booths. The light is dim, but each table has a candle . The heavy menus are readable in the available light. I enjoyed a cheesey, penne alla vodka, made with little peas and pancetta. Delicious. For the second time this rainy week, I saw that a local restaurant offered frog legs as an app. The hoped-for update from the kitchen didn't come. No one there knew the difference between male and female frogs' legs. I sent a message back with our really good waitress that "telling the difference" was a lot like watching a ballet . The slender, muscled ones were the ballerinas, and the impressive, more developed legs were the Nureyevs in the skillet. I regretted that immediately after seeing several heads lean out from the kitchen door and look in my direction. a "Where's the Wierdo?" look on their faces. Dinner was great.

Immediately loved this place. I stumbled in while I was waiting for my cat to be groomed next door (no, strip malls are not the best location for a great restaurant- but inevitable in SWFL) . I was charmed by the strings of white lights all along the bar area and the dark, East Village, Manhattan feel and seating arrangements. It turns out that the owners are from New York City, and I was not surprised. They had a brick oven pizza section, a (homemade) dessert and cappuccino station and a very aesthetically pleasing aquarium all within viewing of the dining area. The food was a tad disappointing, however. I had better luck with the appetizers which included; Caprese Salad, and sausage and broccoli rabe, than I did with my entree. I ordered Veal Saltimboca, which is my favorite Italian dish. I found the veal to be a little tough and extremely over salted, while the spinach was drowning in butter. I mean, I ate it, but I would would have liked to enjoy it a little more, obviously. The homemade Tirramisu was out of this world, though! I look forward to going back and try something new.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
