Always drive by and one nite very last minute stopped in. Service was quick and friendly. Dip platter was delicious. The Egyptian salad and sliders were full of flavor. Everything was perfect. The decor is relaxing and the building is very interesting with most of one wall with windows offering lots of light.

We went to celebrate my wife's B'day. The restaurant has a nice decor and feel. I liked the menu because not only does it have the traditional Mediterranean food for the foodies (wife and friends) but also more common fare for the rest of us (me). The waiter was not the greatest.. He actually took our food order but not our drink order.. Lol. I did not want that to reflection my over all review. The food was good. Everyone in my table was happy. Great comments were heard about the basil tomato soup. Wife had the lamb plate (oso something) and she liked it. I had the Greek pizza with chicken and it was tasty. The crust was thin, crunchy and delicious. We also ordered the samples of the dips and they were very good. One comment the soda was in a bottle not fountain (no refills!?) I would come back for the food but hopefully a better service experience.

I tend to only yelp about the really good or the really bad places and, happily, this is a new found favorite and seriously very good. We were warmly greeted by the eponymous and lovely Mina. The menu is broad and features dishes of many countries kissed by the Mediterranean. Nice clean, lofty warehouse vibe in this up 'n coming Miami corridor. It's a much needed breath of fresh air. Great brunch options and bottomless sangria and mimosas on the weekends. Aaahhh.

I can 5 star in the first few minutes if I choose, especially taking into deep consideration how rude, unprofessional, and fuckin tacky most servers in Miami are. Well, my server was exceptionally funny and witty and welcoming. He guessed the perfect beer, as I dared him to do.......the rest was a fabulous piece of happy eating!!!! Every one must come here!!!

I won't be going back any time soon. I gave this place 3 chances: Once in person and twice on delivery. All 3 times I was disappointed. The menu doesn't make a lot of sense for what it claims to be. The portions are small. The food is mediocre, at best. And almost everything is overpriced for what you get in all factors. To top it off, their staff has been rude to us and they had the nerve to charge us for a a tiny little extra container of tiziki sauce when the one they gave us was half filled and even with both we didn't have enough for the meal we ordered.

I had great expectations. Ill start on a positive note: the place looks amazing. the second thing to be said: the waitesses are super nice. but... the banaganush wasnt special. the kebab was good but not great. the osobucco was nice but rather small. all was served cold and had to be sent back. i dont know what to think really. i hope next time will be different.

I come in about once a week and grab food to go, but the treatment I get is as if I were dining in. Staff is great and food is delicious. Its definitely a place you need to check out. The menu is diverse, not just straight Greek food, a very nice selection of food and wines. They haven't gotten their full liquor license yet, but thats not uncommon down here. If you choose to come in and dine make sure you ask for Tommy at the bar, great guy very knowledgable about the menu and friendly. He waits on me each time I come in and I feel like a VIP whenever I walk out. Great location on 79th street, especially in a place where there aren't too many places to choose from.

Mina's is an unusual place. It's in a somewhat remote location, dotted with auto mechanic garages, a boat marina, an AA meeting place, yet close enough to the Boulevard. It is a large greyish building that if you blink, you may miss it. I had seen this business advertised on Yelp as a new business and thought it looked promising, so I suggested coming here to my friend. We came on a Sunday during lunch hour. The parking lot behind the restaurant is rather large. There is an outdoor seating area and a wicker couch with red pillows. You walk into a modern establishment with lots of windows and natural lighting. Dark wood and grey finishes take over the place. In addition to tables, there are some comfortable couch booths, where we decided to sit. They are plush and cozy. I looked around the inside and really liked it. Very clean, modern, minimal decor, but appropriate. The menu had many choices that looked good, everything from French to Spanish to Greek, a great medley of cultures, but I knew I wanted the stuffed cabbage appetizer, as it was highly recommended by Yelpers, and I wasn't sure about the main course. The waitress was very friendly and pretty. My friend, who is male, agreed. The stuffed cabbage was delicious and flavorful. The leaves were tender and the sauce was great. I was hoping we'd get 4, instead of 2, as the Miami New Times reviewer claimed they served 4, but we only got 2. My friend decided for the beef bourguignon, while I opted for the osso bucco. My friend found the beef interesting, as his mother makes it, but not chock-full of potatoes. She serves potatoes on the side and so the stew is juicy. Here, they put it in a bowl with mashed potatoes covering the meat, like a shepherd's pie, but as a result, it leaves the beef dry, so although tasty, he found it too dry. I am not sure what the traditional/correct way is of preparing beef bourguignon so perhaps it's not supposed to be juicy. My osso bucco, which is a lamb shank with a chunky tomato sauce, was juicy and the meat was so tender, I did not need to use a knife, I really liked my meal, and the portion size was great. The mashed potatoes worked great. For dessert, my friend had baklava (he's so predictable!) and I got the chocolate tart, recommended by our waitress. It was rich and delicious but not very sweet and the graham crust was great. The music was interesting, covers of Lady Gaga songs with acoustic sounds, and it wasn't too loud or overpowering. Service was friendly and efficient, and she congratulated us for eating all our food. I very much enjoyed my experience and would like to try the Greek dishes next.

The secret is out about this hidden gem. Don't be fooled by the location, Mina's serves up excellent, authentic Greek food in a laid back, trendy atmosphere. If you love Greek food, you'll find all your favorites and then some, but there are plenty of choices for the less adventurous as well. Service was responsive without being overwhelming. The vibe was effortlessly cool without being too much of a production. The wine never stops flowing. Really, what's not to like?

My reviews usually stem from bad food and horrible service, but this time I am compelled to share my amazing experience at Mina's. I have not been on this side of town for a while, and am so glad this was my dinner stop last night. First, the place is very cute, with just the right amount of old country décor and urban feel. The building has these amazing windows that play very well with the interior lighting and set the mood. Second, our server Juan, was excellent. He greeted us right away, poured water and offered his appetizer suggestions. Throughout dinner, he was very attentive and didn't seem to mind our indecisiveness or my endless questions about the ingredients and food preparation. Most importantly, everything we tried was amazing. The dinner started with a sampling of the dips: Besara (amazing), Tzatziki, Baba Ghanoug (good but I'd like it with a tad bit of garlic), Spicy Feta (not what you'd expect but great), and Hummus. Then we had Stuffed Cabbage (very well prepared) and Mussels (the butter, garlic and parsley sauce is incredible). Next came the Moroccan Pizza (spicy and delicious) and the Greek Salad (was not too impressed as it seemed a little "empty" to me. I would have liked to see the veggies cut in chunkier pieces). We finished with a sampling of the Pita Sliders - Falafel, Chicken, Gyro, and Lamb. All the meats were tasty and perfectly cooked. I left my pita aside and just combined the meat with the salad and harissa that accompanied the dishes. Lastly, although we didn't have any room, we had to try the dessert and opted for the Dark Chocolate Tart. Needless to say, it was out of this world. Also, the mint tea is a must as the after-dinner beverage. Overall, I am beyond excited for this up and coming restaurant. Cannot wait for their brunch to start!

We never noticed this restaurant the way the building is located, but once inside it's very cozy and welcoming. The food was very good. Definitely recommended

I attended a networking lunch there on Friday, 6/20 and had a great time. The food is very authentic and the spiced hummus was out of this world. I didn't get to see the entire menu as it was already planned for the event, but I'm sure the rest of it is just as good. The restaurant has an outdoor patio as well that looked lovely. If only it hadn't been raining. The only drawback is the neighborhood is a little dicey, but they have their own parking lot. That being said, I'll definitely be back.

We wandered into Mina's when caught on bikes in an afternoon thunderstorm. Not only did they unlock their doors an hour early for us, but then we were fed some of the most authentic and delicious Mediterranean food we've ever eaten. We're already planning on coming back this weekend!

3.5 stars. Lots of parking, great atmosphere, service was a bit slow, but it was pretty full when I was there. I had the tomato basil soup which was amazing. It came in a HUGE bowl that I couldn't even finish, along with some wonderful seasoned pita. Also had the salt and pepper fries which were great and an awesome chocolate tart for dessert. Was very disappointed by the lamb sliders. They were dry and overcooked. Everything else was awesome. Will go back again.

We went last night with a couple of friends who ate at Mina's before. The place looks good upon entering, but the menu is too 'eclectic' for my taste. If I go to a Greek or Lebanese restaurant, I do not expect to see Penne Arrabbiata, Osso Buco, Paella, Coq au Vin or Beef Bourguignon or pizza on the list. Not to mention Spaghetti Bolognese or Mac and Cheese. We wanted to order hummus, but our server insisted we tried the Besara dip and we all hated it. The hummus was decent, but nothing to write home about. It was the tiniest bowl of hummus I ever did see: one bite each for the four of us and it was gone. My husband and our friend ordered the Chicken Kebab. They didn't complain about it, but the portion was minuscule, probably less than 4 oz chicken, a handful of rice and a couple of pieces of pepper. My friend had the Beef Bourguignon and was disappointed about the size, so they gave her another couple of bites of meat on the side. She also had to fight to substitute Brussel sprouts for potatoes. My $18 Fish Tagine arrived in 3-inch diameter baking dish set on a large plate. It should be called "Potato Tagine" as the mahi-mahi promised by the menu is barely enough to feed a Siamese cat. It was accompanied by a little bowl of extremely boring couscous that tasted like it came out of a box. Overall, not very satisfactory. Mina, the owner, was there, but she didn't bother to stop at the table to greet the patrons, something a new restaurant owner should do to get the scope on what people think. Everything tasted like home cooked by a very uninspired cook and the portion size is ridiculous, even for me and I'm not a big eater. The place is nice and very tastefully decorated, but they need to seriously work on the food. The owner said that she keeps the prices low because she doesn't need a chef. The prices are not that low if you consider that what you actually eat is the size of a Gerber baby food jar. There's nothing worse than going out to eat and feast on chips back home. The lack of a chef shows. Sorely.

Great food and prices! Just wish the portions were bigger or there was something more included like a side of bread and hummus... there was a nice variety though so we'd like to come back and try other plates :)

My husband and I went for brunch. The waiter was super nice provided great service. We both had egg dishes which offered great flavor. We started with hummus and they had no problem giving us cucumbers instead of pita bread. Wish it was little closer to me!

Excellent excellent excellent! A great new addition to the Miami dining scene. Very cool restaurant in gentrifying neighborhood in the 79th St. and Biscayne area. Food is delicious. Hummous and other spreads are very good. Spinach pie is so good. Tangine fish is great. Kabobs are good, but nothing special. Choclate tart for dessert was pretty good too. Overall a really nice surprise and definitely see myself becoming a regular here.

Yea, well... it was ok but i was not blown away. I mean, nothing that impressed me so much that i am dying to go back and eat there again. I can pass up on this restaurant. But again, that is just me, i always have high expectations, and usually end up disappointed. Now, the service was friendly , our waitress was nice and the flavors of the food were good. Not amazing. I guess i am jaded. We were 3 people and we order wine to start. They do have a nice selection of international wines. We order for appetizer the pita ( waas just ok). The tzatziki was yummy but the babaganoush and the Bessara was not as good. I don;t even remember what my hud=biie ordered, that is how memorable the food is. My friend had the Beef Bourginon and he said it was very yummy. I had the Coq Au Vin and it was good but definitely very different from the authentic French Coq Au Vin. I find that the menu tries too hard to be international and with so many dishes from so many different cuisines i guess it gets lost. Overall and ok meal but like i said nothing too memorable. I could cook these same dishes at home myself and they will taste just as good. And that is not why i go out to eat to have my own food outside of home.

The pita slider sampler was fantastic (chicken, falafel, gyro, lamb). Very nice set up, Old warehouse turned into a awesome Mediterranean restaurant. Very cool atmosphere, enjoyed pita sliders, spanakopita, mussels. Save room for dessert (there is a dark chocolate treat with an almond crust that is fantastique! Definite repeat.

Had dinner there last night and all I can say is "AMAZING" 79th street corridor has just had the bar raised with a restaurant of this caliber opening. Its very obvious that the owner has invested a lot of time, money and effort in this restaurant to make it perfect. And perfect it is. Plenty of parking and something on the menu for everyone. We look forward to returning soon.

I have been here for both lunch and dinner. Very reasonable prices for both the bar and food. Service was attentive and helpful. I really enjoyed the Mina's Pizza and Greek Salad. The pita slider burgers were okay. We had a the sampler...it was not my taste. The menu is very wide. Not just your typical Greek/Agean food, the menu also includes coq a vin and other French and Spanish dishes.

Judging by the reviews of this place, you either love it or you hate it. I kind of hated it. Mina's seemed quite promising. A great location (just outside hipster-ville) easy free parking and a warm, cozy atmosphere with great decor. And not cozy like wrought iron lamps and frames with quotes from like Pier 1... Let's start with the menu. It kind of had everything... Hummus, Coq Au Vin, Mac and Cheese? I'm kind of confused...This is a greek restaurant, no? Okay "Mediterranean..." Maybe the chef just cooks what they like, I can get down with that. I won't knock it till I try it. Except everything I tried was kind of bland. 1) The Besara Dip and they quote "You'll never eat hummus again" That's a pretty huge claim to make...And not even close. I can't even tell you what this tasted like as it was completely unmemorable. Have these people even tasted Hummus before? It's pretty amazing. I probably would have been less disappointed had they not insisted upon the Besara dip and compared it to hummus in the first place. 2) Mac n' Cheese Penne w/aged Cheddar, Gruyere, Parmesan, Mozzarella and Bechamel? Um yes, please. It had absolutely nothing to do with anything I ordered, but c'mon you can't read that description and not order it. Except you can...in fact just don't order it. I received a small bowl of penne with melted cheeses. Unimpressed... 3)Roasted Ratatouille Roasted boring. Not that this is an extravagant side dish by any means. But I usually love it. 4) Creme Brûlée Hard and Cold. Granted I tried this place when it first opened, and granted I kind of ordered like a schizophrenic, but it is what it is. Your food is either good or its not. This place is somewhere in the middle. Its saving grace: Atmosphere and service. I hate to give such a sad review but this place needs to really solidify their menu. I'd probably give it a second chance with a group.

Like everything about this place. Great atmosphere, wait staff, music, food and nice owner. Had the combo dips with fresh made bread and falafel sliders. Excellent. Also had the mahi fish. All we're cooked and spiced to perfection. My new go to place.

Great home made products went there after boating and it was perfect: you can see there that they care about what they put in your plate!! This place is a good example of guys who invested not much but have a fresh design, good quality products and affordable prices. I strongly recommend this place! It's not located in the most trendy part of Miami but easy access and parking on site!

I really wanted to like Mina's. Their menu looked promising and the reviews were pretty good. Unfortunately, my experience was...meh. My mom and I came in for dinner and they initially tried to put us in a booth that was awkwardly curved around and very close to a couple that was sitting there. It required my mom and I to sit next to each other rather than across from each other because there was a man across from us at the table. Very strange. So we requested a table. For a new place, the chairs were wobbly and uncomfortable. Our waitress comes by and we made her aware of my mom's recently discovered food allergies. We had just returned from a vacation up North where restaurants go above and beyond to be accommodating for food allergies. Not the case at Mina's. Our waitress couldn't even tell us what was in most of the items on the menu. My mom ordered their slider samplers with everything on the side (so she could pick and choose what she knew she could eat) and I had their Greek lasagna. We also ordered a side of spanakopita. The spanakopita was the best part of the meal even though it was a small portion. My Greek lasagna bordered on gross. It was penne with a beef ragout baked in dough with what I detected as cinnamon and/or nutmeg. I didn't even mind that it was a small portion because I didn't really want to eat more of it. My mom's sliders were teeny and were filled with very little meat for $15, and most of the plate was covered with sliced onions, lettuce, and small cups of various sauces. We asked our waitress if there was anything in their "salsa" that could be harmful to my mom with her allergies. She replied basically saying that half the ingredients of the salsa were things that we told her my mom could not eat, but she served it anyway without warning. Thank God we asked or she would be in the ER. To top it off, the meat was dry and lacked flavor. When we were asked if we wanted to dessert, I lied and said we were full and would just like the check. Even though some things looked good (some of the sauces were tasty and would be nice to do apps and wine there), because of the issues we encountered, it's unlikely that I'll return to Mina's.

Favorites: Tomato Basil Soup. BEST EVER. Creamy, tomatoey, delicious. Gyro Sliders. 3 sliders hit the spot. The atmosphere is laid back and casual. A real neighborhood gem. Owner is always friendly and stops by for a chat. Staff is great, quick, friendly and welcoming.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while now. so finally Friday I was like I need to try a new restaurant ! I thought lets do Minas so we went over around 8:15 the place was 40% full. By 8:45 about 85 % of the restaurant was full. The pita is amazing definitely homemade you can get one side for $4 or 3 for $10. I got the hummus which was very good. Also got a Greek salad the feta was good quality I wish they put more in the salad. For my entree I got the chicken kebab which was not a kebab but a very bland piece of chicken grilled. The rice although was excellent. Also the homemade taziki sauce was amazing. The chicken sliders had three nice size portion for $9. I also had a glass of wine all that food for $44 plus tip ! Very impressive !

The food is good. Service was great - a bit awkward at times because it was quiet in there and the wait staff tended to stand around and stare or hover. It's a Mediterranean place that offers very few actual Mediterranean dishes. No lamb apart from mixed meat medleys and the lamb sliders (assumingly prepackaged and not fresh). Got the lamb burger sliders. The tiny little patties were yummy but three teenie tiny mini pita bread sliders with a small side salad was really not worth the high price tag. The dips are okay. Hummus is bland - just tastes like ground up chickpeas - no spice or flavor. Better off buying from the store and eating it at home. Baklava was super yummy. A bit pricey for it's size (again) and it was served with a spoon - what? Couldn't cut through it. Used the spoon like a mini hack-saw. Annoying. The place is really redone inside and is cute but I the price to portion ratio killed it for me. Won't return.

I gave them two stars for being new only. Lets begin with bad service. Yes it's a new joint but get your wait staff TRAINED before you open. We waited forever for everything after the water. We weren't even asked of we wanted to order! Began with a three dip app--besara, which was meh, spicy feta which was downright bitter, and baba which had a nice kick but was also bitter. Next up were falafel sliders. Cute but not authentic falafel. Also had a mildly bitter aftertaste. Note, their "pita bread" is dry and bland. We also ordered a kofta kebab "large plate" which was a joke. Four tiny patties that together were about 4 ounces. Overcooked. Decent flavor but not impressed in the least bit. Ordered a bottle of Pinot which was horrendous. Swapped it for a super Tuscan which was ok but both bottles were way too warm. Listen up!!! You're a MEDITERRANEAN restaurant. Quit playing too loud top 40 crap music! I may try them again in six months if still open but not really looking forward to wasting another $80 on crappy food.

The flaming waiter had great banter and really helped us with our order. I give him a 5..but Mina gets a 4 due to the small portions that she allows. The food was great and typical Mediterranean. Nice place..I will return.

I know my friends will hate me for this but I don't really know what's all the fuss. The space is awesome but the food? The Beef Bourguignon is not entirly extraordinary. And the Vegetable Tagine is simply not acceptable. Stick to the carby things like the pita/dips, pizza, or maybe the sliders which are all better than average.

  • Amy L.

Nice space. Great service. Owner has made the rounds on two occasions. I really want to rate it higher-but the food can be hit or miss. (Been here a few times now so this is a review for all.) Traditional Greek dishes are standouts- grape leaves, lamb sliders & moussaka especially. Not a fan of the baked kibby-in all fairness, I may just not get this dish. Unfortunately, the beef bourguignon was a miss. Fish was a disappointment as well. Wine & beer selections are interesting and well thought out. As I understand it, brunch & patio dining are soon to come. I will be back to give those a try. As I stated before, I would love to be able to give Mina's a better rating.

Fantastic food with even better ambiance. I was shocked when I walked in -- this place is much nicer on the inside than it looks on the outside. Highly recommended. Try the tomato soup, a Duvel on draft, or the Osso Bucco. Nom!

I have to say, I was SHOCKED when I read some of the reviews about this restaurant! Let me start off by saying that the service at this restaurant was AMAZING! Mina came out to see how we were enjoying our experience and our server was so great in helping us decide what to order. Dishes came out tapas style and were served to us as they were prepared - which I loved! Here's my review on the food (that I'm still dreaming about) - We were 3 girls and ordered the babaganouch, arugula salad, Mina's pizza, Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, lamb sliders, spanikopita and tiramisu for dessert! Everything was EXCELLENT! I don't even like lamb, but Mina has a way to make them taste "un-lamby" which is a skill in itself! The pizza was one of the best I've had and the Mac and cheese was loaded with creamy goodness! The spanikopita was amazing! The filling was perfectly flavored and the flaky outside was buttery and delicate. The babaganouch and Brussels sprouts were also incredible - and the tiramisu was the best I've ever had! You could actually taste the creaminess of the mascarpone cheese! It was decadent, memorable, and a perfect dessert to share with a few friends if you are looking for a few bites per person like we were! The restaurant was CLEAN and had a great ambiance! It would be a great location for a date night, girls night out, family night or just about anything! They have plenty of menu options for any dietary need - healthy options, vegetarian options, hearty options or lighter options. I can sum up their menu like this - Their menu is a modern twist on the most delicious Mediterranean food! Overall, this place was my favorite find of the year! I am so happy to have Mina's in the neighborhood and I URGE everyone to try it for yourselves and ignore any of the negative comments on Yelp! Mina's is the real deal and EVERYTHING about this restaurant will impress you! You'll thank me for this! Enjoy!!

Arc C is just a negative person who doesn't know good food. Most of his reviews are negative an only 1 star. I have been here 3 times in 2 weeks and I am careful about where I spend my money. I have never had bad service here. Always prompt and well informed. I even met the owners father who spoke to us about the food and how everything is home made from scratch. She even has her own herb garden in the back. The besara is delicious and goes well with the spicy feta. The vegetable tangible was delicious and I loved the Mina's pizza. The bartender was extremely sweet and well informed. But the best thing on the menu is...... Tiramisu!!!!!!! Best tiramisu ever!!!!!

First time here, and I'd go definitely go back. The restaurant had a great ambiance, and it seemed perfect for a date night or evening out with friends. The creamy tomato soup was one of the highlights (I'm kind of a soup-a-holic), and we also enjoyed the pita w/dipping sauces and the beef bourguignon (although it's served more like a shepherd's pie, it was still tender and delicious). Also, several tables around us had ordered the pizzas, and those looked great too. All items are served family style for sharing, and they're brought out to the table as they're ready. We had baklava for dessert, which tasted fresh and homemade. I'm a fan!

Mina's was not bad, but it is a work in progress. it is a big restaurant, with a very high ceiling in one big room, and they will have outside seating soon. it has a large bar, along one wall, great service and attitude. we had a Greek salad, which could have been better. our Baba Ganoosh, or however you spell it, was good, but could use more garlic. the lamb sliders were very good, as was the rice pudding, which did not have too much sugar, thank you!!! i would like to return, and try their pizza. it is a fun place, and they even have a parking lot to boot!!

An unexpected find on a Saturday night when we were looking to grab a bite to eat! We loved everything about this place. Great atmosphere, the food was absolutely delicious (we had the Besara, Gyro Pitas and stuffed cabbage leaves), the prices are very reasonable and the service is super friendly. I like that the portions are just the perfect size, not too big (like in so many other restaurants where you leave half the food on the plate) and not too small. And the concept is fantastic! The menu is a cross section of the different cuisines of all the wonderful countries that are found surrounding the Mediterranean - from Morocco to Israel, Greece to Turkey and Italy to France - everyone is sure to find something on the menu here!

Wow! What a chicky new place in a very unexpected area. Gorgeous decor, fantastic and easy parking, and the food....HELLO! Just spectacular! What a punch of flavor in the dips. Chicken was grilled to perfection! Who know plain white rice could taste so fantastic! Though stuffed, we had to taste at least one dessert. Creme brulee did not disappoint. The portions and the fresh flavors reminds me of San Francisco. Just....wow!!!

One of the best Mediterranean restaurant in town! First off no hassle to park, you have a huge parking lot where you find a place to park in no time, big plus knowing that everywhere else you go you have to look for a parking spot for at least 5 minutes. Entering the restaurant, my date and I were gratefully welcomed by the staff which found us a nice table along the confortable couches. The atmosphere in the restaurant is right on point: music and surroundings were just at the right volume. I just hate to bring a date in loud places and have to scream or ask her to repeat what she said! The lighting ambience was perfect too. I could read the menu just fine, no flashlight needed! The restaurant is very spacious and very well decorated with great taste. At the time of the order, the server was very helpful in the selection of white wine. For the food the same, very helpful. We chose one of my favorite dishes: the paella! It was amazing, delicious, colorful with a tiny bit of spice which add a great twist to the dish. We tried also the dips, I highly recommend the one with the yogurt. The owner came to greet us and recommended us the chocolate cake for dessert. We took her advise and this cake was out of this world! It had the right amount of sweet and an incredible texture. It is not like your regular cake that will fill you so much that you would feel like rolling your way out of the restaurant. It was the kind of cake that you ask yourself if you should get another one. My date could not have finished on a better note! As matter of pricing, it is a quite affordable restaurant for the quality of food and service. I highly recommend Mina's for a date or for a friday night dinner with your dearest friends.

I absolutely LOVE Mina's! Mina just gets it. She is always out greeting the customers and is so personable. My family regularly comes here and she knows all of our names. She even gave us a free bottle of proseco to celebrate my sister's birthday. You don't get this type of service just anywhere. I also love that I feel completely comfortable trying ANYTHING on the menu. Every time I go, its a different dish (unless I'm craving one I've already had). My favorite so far has been the Greek Noodle Bowl, the Warm Goat Cheese Salad, and the Kebab plate (with lamb). If you're looking for a place to try in the North Miami area, come out and support this local restaurant.

OMG. this has to be one of my favorite places to go to. I am a regular there. Me & my bestie discovered this place just by chance. WE STRUCK MEDITERRANEAN GOLD. I am vegetarian & they have a lot of veggie options. They tomato basil soup is to die for. It is just so delicious & filling. Creamy & comforting. Also, another dish you should miss their MAC & CHEESE. It is soo rich, yummy & cheesy lol One of the best Mac N Cheese I've had in my life. I've also their the falafel, salt & pepper fries & spanakopita. Everything to die for. One thing I wouldn't recommend is their Greek Noodle Bowl. It's meh. It lacks flavor that the other dishes have. The staff is extremely friendly & very welcoming. I go to this place 3 or 4 times a month because I love it that much !

My conclusion after two visits is that while Mina's has some potential, and gets points for providing a unique range of options that are hard to find in Miami, I do not recommend it because the food is completely mediocre. For obvious reasons, there's no professional chef in the kitchen. Worse, it already seems to have developed a poor and unprofessional attitude from the minimal staff I have encountered, including a woman who appears to be Ms. Mina herself. All this from a place that should be a cosy warm family-style mom's secret recipe kind of place, which to me means I will not be returning and I think you, dear Yelp reader, can do better with your hard-earned cash and limited time. I believe that the owner was present on both times we went, but she did not take advantage of the opportunity to meet her customers on either occasion. A harsh but deeply sincere note on this: as someone who aspires to be a restaurant owner someday, I am incredulous that the owner of a place does not take the time to at least say hello and ask how things are. This is especially true when the place is new, advertises as a family business with recipes from her mom, and both times there was hardly any body in the restaurant. On both occasions, the highlight of our dining experience was the Besara dip ($4), a green fava been dip with cilantro that is served with pita and boasts "you'll never eat hummus again." This is an interesting, fresh, healthy, and nutritious dip that I have not seen elsewhere, and this really delivered. But from here we proceed downhill both times. We tried the Vegetable Tagine ($12), which comes as vegetables in a small bowl, and a portion of really boring poorly flavored, and poorly cooked cous cous. Totally boring, uninspired, and I think you could do better with literally a boxed cous cous at home. The gyro sliders were a better choice ($9 for 3). The failure of this dish to make any positive impression is a great example of the heart of the weakness of this place: there is no professional chef at the helm to control the consistency and taste of the dishes. According to the New Times article, Ms. Mina boasts "I don't have to pay a chef, so I can keep my prices lower". blogs.miaminewtimes.com/… . Sorry Ms. Mina, but it shows! This food is totally amateur hour. Another example of this came from this second visit. We tried the Pastito ($10), a Greek lasagna of penne with bechamel and beef ragout. My husband (disclaimer: he is a chef) was grossed out with the way it came to the table. It was in one of those brown clay/oven safe bowls, but the bowl came out dirty -- it was probably just little pieces of the lasagna when they transferred it from the big lasagna into the bowl for reheating, but any trained chef knows that a dish must be properly prepared to go out to the table, which includes wiping off any parts that have splashed around. It's not actually "dirty" with dirt, but it does't look pretty and it's unappetizing. Before moving on, I'll say that my husband didn't like this dish, but I did - it had some surprise cinnamon (?) that I found interesting among with the small portion of lasagna with overcooked penne. Other dishes we tried were the lentil soup ($5), which lacked any flavor in the broth and tasted like spiced lentil water sludge from with the ground lentils (I was hoping for full lentils), and was overpowered by pepper. I didn't care for it and did not eat it. We tried to salvage the meal with the baked Kibby ($5), and this too was very disappointing - it lacked flavor and it was woefully falling apart (imagine something like a falafel ball that is falling apart). Service: My husband was very put off by his actually dirty water glass which had a lipstick stain on it. Although the waitress apologized, she unprofessionally said it was the dishwasher, and that they run it at night and so they can't always see if something stays on the glass. Later on when we provided negative feedback on the food, she hammered the nail in the coffin for me on this place, saying that the food issues we had weren't her fault. Yes. I calmly suggested that we understood that, but that we weren't going to back into the kitchen to tell them our comments, and that if we didn't share with her our thoughts so she could pass on the feedback, they would never know why we were dissatisfied. Although the owner (I think) was 5 feet away with her back to us on the bar, she didn't even bother to come over at this point, either. She comes off as a disinterested business owner who doesn't care about or take care of their customers. I've crossed this place off the list permanently.

Mamma Mina! If you ever dreamed of being adopted by an Egyptian mother who will make homemade Spanskopita and Falafel, then you must try Mina's. Mamma is literally in the kitchen and everything including the pita bread is made from scratch. Start with some of the dips! If you try the Besara, you'll never eat hummus again. The decor is just as inviting as the staff. The owner personally walked through the menu with us and explained everything and how it was made. She has really invested a lot of "love" into Mina's and it is a cool, hip, and unpretentious restaurant. This is a great "date" spot because the menu has tons of small plates to share, and it is also a wonderful happy hour spot with beer and wine. We can't wait to go back!

New to the area and went with some friends. We did make a reservation, and we were seated right away. We ordered appetizers and meals and all shared. Everything was great and the waiter was very helpful in making recommendations. The building was a great space. I will definitely go back!

Miami needs a really great Greek eatery. Mina's is not it. The decor is kind of hipster/self conscious, but bright and airy. The prices are high and the portions are small. Service is on the slow side and is just okay. The food is kind of salty, and below average. I wanted to love this place, as it's so close to home and I love quality Mediterranean food. Sadly, there was nothing to love about Mina's.

  • Carly G.

My family and I decided to give Mina's a try after reading about it in the Miami Herald, sadly it was very disappointing. The portions are teeny tiny for the price... This is Shorecrest after all! The Baklava wasn't to my standards, it was strangely wrapped in phylodough instead of assembled in traditional layers and was dry. On the plus side, the flavors of the small meals were good, I just feel like the sizes needed to be doubled. Also, they serve mini draft beers and mini waters, I felt like I was at a tea party.

I went to Mina's for happy hour drink a week before this review. My first experience was great, friendly, inquisitive staff, Good beer selection at decent prices. However, happy hour is selective. I enjoyed two duvels, served in a proper glass. Second time around, I felt cheapened by the poor choice of glass wear, which reduced my beer contend by a third for the price paid. Nice music!

I was glad to read all the rave yelp reviews about this place and agree with them wholeheartedly! Perfectly executed Mediterranean resturant pair well with great ambiance along with exceptional food which in my opioion deserves to receive five stars. The waiter was attentive with our orders, especially we ordered lots of side dishes and could be confusing at time. Nonetheless he was helpful and patient. The manager/owner also came over several times to check on us to make sure we are doing ok. Great customer service all around! In terms of the food goes, everything cooked in perfection. Their tomato basil soup was fresh and creamy, the gyro sliders meat were especially tasty and the Osso Bucco's meat was super tender. I could go on and on...

Ups and downs.... but more downs.... The misleading portion sizes had me ready to leave a 1 star review but the taste of the baked dishes bumped it up a star. Looking back at our visit, this place charges you the most they can while giving you smaller than reasonable portions. We ordered: baked pastitsio $10, baked moussaka $12: So, there are some yelp pics of these baked dishes going around... be aware, the pics are extremely misleading. When the baked dishes came out to us they were in a mini baking dish that measured slightly over 3 inches across. The mini baking dish sits on a large plate which further enhances the visual dwarfing affect. I sat there staring for a few seconds in disbelief, I even waited a moment thinking that there might be more coming out, I laughed inside a little bit but then realized that this place was taking advantage of its customers. We didn't need to say a word, we knew what the other one was thinking. .....We said it anyway though, "Is there supposed to be more?" "Not even some bread on the side?" ...It truly was half of what a common serving is thought to be. We tasted our dishes, they were great. We tried each others, great also. Then, as we took another bite there was more bad news. I know that various noodles are used in these dishes depending on who is making it but I've never seen large Ziti noodles used. The huge air pockets in these noodles seems to be another shot by this establishment at giving the consumer less while charging more. Grilled chicken pita sliders $9: The chicken in these sliders was unacceptably tasteless. A let down. This was a surprise when comparing it to the baked dishes. Not worth the price. grape leaves $6: 4 mini grape leaves. Taste was ok, we have had better. Not worth $6 drinks: basic canned drinks at $3 each? So you brought me a glass with ice and a .25 canned drink (NOT fountain!!!) and then you charged me 12 times the amount it costs your establishment? Not worth it. Ok, check please. The bill was X amount plus some change. We put out the change the bill requested. With a half smile, the server handed the change back and said "You can keep this." And this means what? Is the server too bothered to put change in the change drawer?? Is there an issue on our part for leaving the change??? Are we never to leave change at another restaurant again?!?! It's all kind of funny after experiencing their meticulous portion sizes and pricing...........

I really like this restaurant for a number of reasons. It is like being invited to a home cooked meal at a friend's house but having to pay. The menu has a broad range of choices to satisfy any culinary craving. The atmosphere is homey but that of a very clean and attractive home. The food is very fresh and natural. Everything is created in a flavorful way to please your sense of taste. Nothing is prepared for mediocrity or in a bland or ordinary way. The ambiance is perfect. It has comfortable banquettes, secluded tables to insure intimacy , a nice bar with televisions to satisfy the jock craving, and an outside area when the weather is nice. Good Mom and Pop restaurants are becoming harder to find. I treasure them. I treasured my dining experience and I hope to become a regular here.

Why does a restaurant with a gigantic parking lot need an "attendant" to "direct" you to your parking space, when there must be, at any given time, 20 vacant parking spaces in this vast lot? I felt obligated to tip the poor guy even though he wasn't providing me a worthwhile service. This seems like a tip-extortion racket sponsored by the restaurant. Can't they establishment find a better job for this man? The food was just so-so. I ordered osso buco which was not osso buco at all. It was veal on a bone, but the bone wasn't a marrow bone. One of the pleasures of osso buco is that you get to spread the bone marrow on your bread, but with this "osso buco" there was no marrow bone. Obviously they give you a cheaper cut. The whole concept of Mediterranean comfort food is kind of annoying. The food here is basic, standard stuff - no surprises, no "oh wow, this is really interesting." experiences. I can get mac and cheese at a diner, and I can get spaghetti and meatballs at home and I can get basic hummus at Publix. I'll go back when they make the menu a bit more interesting (and when they move the poor lot attendant to a more useful position).

One thing that *really* bothers me about Miami is restaurateurs who do the bare minimum to fix up and open a place, serve mediocre food and drink, and then have the nerve to slap outrageous, South Beach-style prices on it. Mina's is not such a place. These people have shown respect for their neighborhood and their customers in their sensitive remodeling of a seemingly "nothing" building (I've driven past it literally hundreds of times without noticing it), their provision of ample, well-lighted parking, and -- most important -- their eclectic, well-priced menu. Portions are not huge, but prices aren't, either. I disagree with another reviewer's negative opinion of the pita. I'm pretty sure it's house made and it always arrives piping hot, soft, and chewy. A fantastic accompaniment to the assorted dips. The sliders are tasty, too! I've been three times since they opened a month or so ago. Service has always been friendly and the owner never fails to stop by the table to chat. If you leave around the Upper Eastside -- and even if you don't -- I encourage you to check out Mina's and support folks who have made a real investment in our community, with fantastic results.

Walking by I would have no idea this great place was inside. Very cool spot. Food was great. Had a dip called Besara made from fava beans. Had the chicken pita sliders as well. Both very tasty. They had happy hour from 5-8 with 2 for 1 wines and beers under $5. They will be starting brunch in Jan and are adding a patio. They also have two tv's above bar. We'll definitely be back!

The menu says lamb not beef and lamb. Good luck

Wow. Great find! Not sure why Yelp is filtering some people's reviews, but hey, that's not my problem. Mina's was really good. A 5/5 on value. A 5/5 on food. A 4/5 on service. My wife and I went on a Tuesday evening. They've been open for 4 days and done no advertising (we heard about them through eater.com and a neighbor). We sat at the bar. First, let me describe the facility. It is loft-like, with high ceilings and simple, clean decorations. They "painted" a wall with that chalkboard-type paint and wrote their menu on it. Nice, clean, and fun. The place seats about 90 inside, has it's own (nice) off-street parking lot which is sizeable, and looks like plenty of outdoor, concrete space for outdoor seating in cooler weather. Next, we were warmly greeted and offered seating (we decided on the bar, which has two TVs which are visible if you want, but not obtrusive). The Mediterranean-based menu is a perfect size - enough for you to choose, but not overwhelming. It has dips, small plates, pizzas, mains, soups/salads, and sliders. We tried 3 dips (served with nice pita), stuffed cabbage, roasted brussel sprouts, and some falafel sliders. Also had some beer and wine. Finished the meal with the baklava (I just can't resist ordering it since I know it is homemade). The food was all good and nice portions - not huge, but sizeable. A few standouts for me. The stuffed cabbage. I'm not a huge fan normally, but this stuff was amazing. I could have eaten more. Seriously. Also, the tahini dip and baba ganoush (sp?) were special. The falafel sliders were just right - enough crunch, but not too much, and great flavor. The prices are very reasonable (low in some cases) and this can be a great place to come whenever (it's priced right so if I don't feel like cooking, I won't break the bank by coming here once a week). The owner (Jasmine) introduced herself, and her Mom (who was in the kitchen) and Dad. Really nice to see a family place and I hope it succeeds so I can enjoy it again (many times).

I have been passing this business everyday and finally was excited to see it open.We ordered food from Mina's tonight for the first time. Very impressed. The food was delicious and all the dipping sauces we ordered were amazing. The only reason i gave 4 Stars instead of 5 stars is that the food portions could be bigger, but otherwise I will be back.

This restaurant is amazing!!! My husband and I came here while we were visiting Miami and I am so happy we did. Not only is the food very reasonably priced, but it is also authentic and delicious. Ambiance is great and they have a great happy hour. We started with with the dips (made fresh in house) which come served with pitas right out of the oven. I have always been a huge fan of Hummus, but each of them were amazing. I had never even tried/heard of Besara and I am so happy I did. Soooo good. For dinner, I got the lamb burger sliders. The meat was juicy and flavorful and the sauces were delicious. My husband got the Mac n' Cheese which was cheesy and creamy . . . Need I say more? The food was so yummy, we came back again before we left. Can't recommend it enough.

Get in line now! A new gem in the Upper Eastside! From it's easy parking, inviting environment, friendly staff, to it's fabulous food - this place is a winner! We really enjoyed the Dips - Hummus, Baba Ghanoug and the tastiest Tzatziki I've ever had; Lamb Burger Sliders; beautifully flakey, flavorful Spanakopita and Kreatopita, and the best Stuffed Cabbage ever. Mina's is a place I look forward to going back to again and again. Prices can't be beat, from the beers and wines to the food. Yasmine, is very sincere and genuine, and really wants to develop a great neighborhood restaurant. Can't wait to hit up her Happy Hour. Do yourself a favor and save room for the Dark Chocolate tart with crushed almond crust - a yummy decadent finish to a great evening.

This is a great place, nice addition to the neighborhood, plenty of parking, good homie food in a Mediterranean style, not your typical Americanized fare every "Mediterranean " restaurant offers... This is the real thing, imagine how a real home made meal from that neck of the woods tastes, then add a real urban American feel for the decor and you get a great combination. This is real food in a setting that can be trendy without the Miami pretentiousness. Go there enjoy... There not many places like this left. The food is much better than Mandolin... And I love Mandolin.

went there last night with friends and family-reviews as follows: the food was great - I liked everything I tried: The resturant dose need some tweeking though- I felt it was trying to be something it hasen't quite managed to accomplished yet- first the lighting on the tables was poor - I had to use a the light on my phone to read the meun and like to see what I am eating and had a hard time seeing my food - all the little tea candles were with out candles in them so that was haed to see.....also if you are sitting at the read of the resturant facing the kitchen you can see into the kitchen whice I found distracting-the service was just ok - our server was a bit distracted and needed a bit more training-these things are minor and will probalyy be ironed out as the resturant grows with time- It was however a plesent experence and I would recommend it on the merit of the good food...Also I had to ask the server to bring Pita to the table and he brought 1 pita in the basket and there were 6 of us dinning so I had to ask for enough for the whole table- and then it was cold and hard as a rock - not a good sign....if you can't get the bread right.. NOTE -Service 101- Bring bread to the table after drinks and ordering......

Awesome new find; family owned. Service was great. Venue is awesome with great ambience. The owner was walking around and greeting everyone. My husband and I shared three dip appetizer (besara, baba ghanoush, and a spicy feta dip). All were great. I got the gyro sampler for my main. It was delicious and juicy, just the right amount of food. My husband got the osso bucco. The first time it came out hot in places and frozen in others. The staff fixed it right away and it came back within 5 minutes perfect. We shared the Nutella pizza for dessert. It takes about 15 minutes to be prepared (which they don't warn you), but was absolutely worth the wait and had the added bonus of allowing us critical time to digest. This will become a new favorite haunt for us.

I really like this place!! I've been here a few times, and everything is great. Anyway, the ambiance is very nice. It's casual but looks very clean and homey, but modern. I've also heard recently the back patio area is set up, so I need to check that out. Make sure to check their hours before going - I don't think they are open every day and their hours change each day as well. But it's a typical sit down restaurant. Service is very friendly, but one time I came here our server checked on our table too often. The food is also consistently good. They have the best pitas I've ever had, the Spanish tortilla is great, and I've had a couple of the pizzas, which were great. Everything is light, fresh, and high-quality. Absolutely perfect. I think this would be a great place to go with someone that is a vegetarian, as there are many options for them. One great thing I love about this place is the huge parking lot. You don't have to worry about finding parking on street or paying for parking unlike other restaurants in this area. I came here with a group of about 8 on a Thursday around dinner time and they had no problem accommodating us - for parking and tables. Prices are very reasonable too, especially for such high-quality food. You're not paying a ridiculous amount like other restaurants in Miami. By the way, make sure to check-in for a free pita and hummus with purchase of an entree. Thank you Yelp ;)

My only regret about Mina's is not having stopped here sooner. I've driven by several times and was always curious about it, especially since it has great reviews, but I finally gave in last weekend when my friend came to visit and we wanted to stay away from the SoBe crowds. She's a vegetarian and Mina's seemed to have good options for her and carnivores alike (plus, they label their meats as grass-fed, chicken as free-range and fish as wild-caught...that's a win in my book!). First off, they have a private lot with free parking!! -- a rarity for the Miami community where you normally have to parallel park and pay meters almost everywhere you go. Upon entering the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by how bright and open it is with its high ceilings and large windows. The place was buzzing with diners but we were seated promptly. The bar is nicely stocked and the cocktails seem unique. We decided to skip the brunch menu (though I'm coming back for that!) and opted to share some items off the regular menu instead. We ordered dolmas (grape leaves stuffed with rice, onions and tomato, served with tzatziki), koshary (rice, macaroni and lentils with a spicy garlic tomato sauce), the Egyptian pizza (tomato, rumi cheese, fried egg) without the tenderloin, and the tiramisu (typical but delightful). I'm by no means a vegetarian but I was thoroughly satisfied with this meat-free meal! We ate to our hearts' content (and then some) and still had some leftovers. Great flavors, freshly made, and even better is the price point!

Wow! What a surprisingly great place just off 79th st. We live in the shores and there are no great options in our village...awesome to see there are options closer than ynwood and midtown...the tzatziki, hummus, falafel and babaganush are one of best ive ever had..really authentic, interesting flavors! Their pita is also best ive had...served fresh from oven...decor and ambience remind me of san francisco! Service was wonderful!

This place is great. I was looking to try a new Mediterranean restaurant and found Mina's on my yelp app. It is located right off of 79st. Although some might consider the area questionable,it has come along way. The area is up and coming with several hip restaurants. There is plenty of parking in a gated lot on the side. The decor is laid back and has a rustic feel. The lighting is inviting. I especially loved the comfy couch booths with cozy pillows. The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us great suggestions on what to order. Now for the food. One word. Amazing. The Moussaka was delicious. In fact the best I've had. My husband had the Lamb Tagine and loved it. We also had the Spanakopita which was also delicious. Flaky and creamy with all the right flavors. The hummus with pita bread is a must for starters. Check in and it's complimentary. For a cocktail I went with the Dusty Rose per my waitresses recommendation. I loved it! It's light and fresh and perfect for the hot summer days. I can't wait to return and try different plates!

What a pleasant surprise! Went to Mina's last night for a girls night out and we were so happy that luck brought us here. We had the pleasure of being served by Juan... A very charismatic Colombian guy, who suggested drinks, appetizers and delicious food ...all delicious... The decor and lighting design makes you feel at home... I feel is ideal for large groups... or for a romantic date... the tall ceilings give you a feeling that you are somewhere else... Parking is available and FREE! We ordered the Mussels... to start! The broth of the mussels was amazing, we continued to order more bread to soak it on it... By the way the bread is also out of this world. Everything we tried was delicious, freshly made and carefully plated. The cocktails were amazing... just try it, go for a long dinner and share everything you order so you can sample their delicious dishes.

I really believe this is the best Mediterranean food I've ever had! Every time I come everything about this restaurant pleases me. The server, Hannah really takes care of us well. For brunch try the Egyptian brunch. Lunch I suggest osso bucco or fish tagine. **BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS $20 SAT&SUN**

We be brunchin' at Mina's and loving it! A large group of us dined and drank our day away in the charming dining room one rainy Sunday afternoon. I was smitten with the atmosphere immediately. High ceilings, huge skylights and rustic furniture set the stage and fresh sunflowers on each table round out the decor beautifully. Our server was very friendly, passionate, and attentive. At times he seemed a bit overwhelmed, running off with only a portion of our drink order for example. Still would rate the service as decidedly above average. On to the food. We ordered the dip sampler with besara, spicy feta, and tzatziki to start. The bread was sinfully delicious - warm, soft, and flavorful. I was unnaturally excited to have shakshuka in a real Mediterranean restaurant and the bold flavors did not disappoint. Unfortunately, my eggs were way overcooked. I really missed the silken, runny deliciousness that would have undoubtedly added texture to the dish with its beautiful golden blanket of yolk. My husband was thrilled with the Egyptian brunch though. The drinks were very good; I particularly enjoyed the strawberry basil slushie which I had spiked with vodka. Looking forward to coming back for dinner and/or happy hour.

A large group of us went to dinner at Mina's on a busy Friday night. We all have different taste and there were a couple of vegetarians, so I was worried how dinner would go. But, Mina's went above and beyond and was the perfect place for us. The food at Mina's is very tasty. We all got different meals, but everyone was in agreement that they enjoyed their food. I personally loved the spanakopita and falafel appetizers. I thought these were cooked and made to perfection. Other standouts were the gyro sliders, Israeli salad, and Margherita pizza. Also, our server was very attentive, nice, and helpful. He helped make our dinner great and made sure that our large group got the best service possible. I've heard Mina's is great for brunch and I'd love to return to try it then. I'm so happy to have been able to try a new Mediterranean eatery.

I like this place. Appetizers, salads, small plates are amazing. I love the grape leaves staff with meat and rice . I had the best lamb sliders burgers last night ,with tzatziki ( I googled that ) it's definitely the best. One of the servers it's really nice and attentive( I don't know his name but he doesn't have hair ). Was nice of him stoping at our table to say hi even though he wasn't our server .But he remembers us from last time . The only thing we don't really like are the big plates . But the rest it's amazing.

This has been our "go-to" for Sunday evening dinner the last couple weeks in order to get the week started out right. First, they have 2-for-1 wine before 7pm. Also, they have some free hummus for those checking in on Yelp (if you order a large entree). Our top choices are the kebab plate (kafta), brussel sprouts, and the goat cheese salad. All amazing, all dream-worthy. The two desserts that we have had (not in the same night... gotta keep our girlie figures) - rice pudding and dark chocolate tort have been out of this world! That chocolate business is where it's at - the crust is just amazing. AMAZING! And the darkness of the chocolate is spectacular. I'm impressed. And I like my dessert calories to be spectacular b/c really, why am I eating that "bad" stuff if it's not really going to be worth it? Well, let me tell you - it's worth it here. Service is always nice, ambiance is lovely, and there's plenty of parking.

Awesome restaurant! Love the food and wine value (amazing Rioja Tempranillo for $8-9 per glass)! I think they are getting a full liquor license too and a cool outdoor area. Growing up in Miami Beach and Normandy Shores, it's spectacular to see how 79th Street and the surrounding areas are changing. THE NEXT MIDTOWN...

This is the real deal! Freshness and superb Mediterranean cuisine combined, superb service and relaxed, friendly atmosphere. We've been back time and again and have brought friends to experience this great dining affair. Kudos Mina, for bringing such a wonderful place to both Miami and the beaches!

Everyone in our party was dissatisfied and disappointed with Mina's and we will not be returning. The atmosphere and beer selection are really nice, however the menu is misleading and the poor quality and lack of flavor in their food is the downfall of this place. When the food comes out you are surprised by its presentation, and not in a good way. Lamb Sausage, that is in patty form? Kebabs that are also patties? Not to mention they were dry, not tasty, and only slightly different flavor between the two orders. I might as well have cooked them at home. My beef bourguignon came out in a pot covered in a very thick layer of "mashed" potatoes which were not flavorful. I got so so sick of eating them to get to the bottom that I started pushing them aside and digging for the meat, which I found very little of. The layer seemed like a gimmick to hide how little meat was actually included at the bottom, which was an inexcusably inadequate portion. The waiter never stuck around long enough for us to give him his feedback. I got the sense complaints are common place and he didn't want to stick around for another lashing. A review on here says they don't have a chef and I believe it %100. Too bad, it could be a great place if they just had someone who knew how to manage and make food.

My husband and I were looking to go somewhere new for us and well we decided to try Mina's. The place inside is very modern yet rustic very cozy. The servers were very attentive, we checked in and enjoyed our complimentary hummus, we ordered a warm goat cheese salad that was amazing. We also ordered the lamb sliders which taste so delicious and Moroccan Pizza, which was very good just that we asked to remove the mint leaves... every thing was excellent except the baklava which was just average. We are definitely coming back soon! Food taste fresh.

Ok so we were kinda hopping around different places we came in ordered drinks and a Pizza pizza and service was great the mojito I ordered didn't taste that great the bartender must have noticed and brought me another with out asking , it's was just a sweeter version of the last one , I must say the service is too notch the waitress went behind the bar and made a real mojito with no asking no complaints It's was a good experience

Food is great. Totally unexpected as is everything on the 79 th at corridor. Huge warehouse space lovely and comfortable with live music some nights. Huge outdoor patio space great for parties covered and has fans so you stay cool. Bottomless mimosa brunch food is really excellent. Bottomless mimosa is a bit overpriced $20 plus entree so easily $40 if you choose that option. It's a wonderful addition to this neighborhood.

Outstanding ambiance, service, food, and all the rest. Juan was our waiter and I haven't had service ever this good in Miami. The owner is of Egyptian decent with a beautiful story and great family recipes that make up the menu. This is an A+!

This is difficult. The food is okay for Mediterranean. What I mean is that the food is good but it's not fantastic Mediterranean. Second it is very expensive for what you get. Good beer selection. Service needs to step it up! I give it a 3.

IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY! So you want to arrange a casual night out for the group. Should be simple, but it's not. You'll be six, or maybe nine. Four will be on time, one a little late, someone else very late, and oops! The babysitter flaked out, so now there's a last minute +1 or 2 little ones. And your best friend is vegan, and you don't like seafood. Four of 6 people are gluten-free, 1 doesn't drink alcohol, 3 of you can't tolerate spice, and somebody's an ovo/lacto vegetarian. To put it bluntly, your group is an absolute hot-mess, server's NIGHTMARE! Fear not. Mina's can handle it. Step 1: Refer to the box on the top left of the menu and order the "dips" as a shared appetizer. You can get a variety of yummy, healthy snacks like hummus and tzatziki. They come with homemade pita bread, but you can ask for a couple of orders of Crudités for the gluten-frees. And the menu includes a couple of really tasty vegetarian entrées, there's a delicious homemade lemonade for tea-totalers, there's an amazing dish of mussels to share, and the wines are priced right by the glass or the bottle. NO NEED TO GET YOUR PRIVILEGE IN A BUNCH! The server has seemingly unlimited patience and professionalism. He will listen to your long list of special needs and make helpful suggestions without batting an eye. He almost seems to care that oregano gives Tiffany hives and wheat makes Brandi's belly bloat. Not only that, but he's happy to stand up on a chair to take the perfect group photo for the obligatory FaceBook post. Step 2: Sit back and enjoy your special evening. The food is great, the service even better, and the space is beautiful. High ceilings and comfy seats. There's enough space between the tables to chat and toast and laugh without disturbing anyone. You'll actually relax and have a great time! One last note: Mina's has ample free parking in a private lot behind the restaurant. No drama, even on a Saturday night.

Their lentil soup hit the spot! Still, 3.5 for now I stopped by Mina's Mediterraneo after hearing about them on Twitter. Located on the gentrifying 79th Street corridor, Mina's has a cool modern look with high ceilings and exposed roof beams. In contrast to other restaurants in that area, it has a huge parking lot. Quiet with a jazzy vibe, it's the place where the hipsters of the aughts go when they grow up and have kids. (Here's hoping they're also pet friendly as there was a couple with a baby in the dining room. That'll bump up a star.) Their beer list looks greatly varied, which I plan to check out around next Full Moon party. Recovering from a fun weekend, I started with their lentil soup. Billed as vegan and served mashed, I will say it was very spicy and a perfect wake-up. I would have preferred a more "solid" soup with the beans and veggies instead of blended but it was still delicious. Main course was a fresh, lightly breaded chicken milanese on a bed of fresh arugula and tart tomatoes. I did ask for marinara sauce to kick up the spice of the chicken breast a little more. My closing creme brulee was another highlight with it's sweet crispy crust. Service was also prompt and pleasant.

Had a very unpleasant experience here just now. My boyfriend and I "unlocked" a free hummus deal as posted under this restaurant on yelp. When I told the waitress, an older woman with short hair, about it she ignored it. When we mentioned it to her again she paused and stared at us like we were ridiculous. Minutes later she comes out with the hummus and says "here is your FREE hummus!". At the point I completely lost my appetite and we asked for our food to go but not before expressing to her that we were leaving because she had treated us poorly and was rude. Her response: "I like when people express themselves. That's good!" and walked away to get our bill. Not even an apology or a denial of her mistreatment. I have never been treated like that before. Oh! And we ended up being charged for the hummus as well. Definitely won't be back there.

Visited Minas for Father's Day and had the Egyptian Brunch which was amazing. My BF who is Vegan had an Eggplant dish that was also great. I would had given it a 5 except that I was looking for more info on the food I was eating, an explanation on what the food was and how to eat it. It was my first time eating Egyptian food and didn't know how to put it all together. I will Def go again.

Let me start by telling you that the staff here is AWESOME and always went out of there way to make my visit worthwhile. I was a loyal and consecutive customer one night a week for the past 8-9 weeks. I park the car and would enter the somewhat empty restaurant (at this particular hour) and order a small meal and coffee. I would then leave the restaurant for one hour to attend a meeting, return with 3-9 other folks and have coffee, dessert and or a meal. I was told that I cannot do that and that it didn't matter how many times u come in. Horrible attitude which trumps the food.... Never again.

I LOVE this place! I went for dinner and the mood in the room was so relaxing. The walls are covered with art and cool pictures and the dining area is also set to a dim with the use of candlelight at each table. The food was also delicious. I had the Baked Beef Bourguigno which was simply amazing. The mashed potatoes were seasoned to perfection and as an avid gardener, I could tell that the vegetables were fresh, and not frozen before they were cooked. As an appetizer, I had homemade hummus with warm pita. They also serve other dips for the pita but I didn't get a chance to try them. Finally, for dessert I tried the Nutella pizza. OMG if you have space for dessert I would definitely recommend it. It was a 12 inch pizza that was covered in Nutella and strawberries. If I wasn't concerned about calories, I would've eaten the entire thing by myself! Oh, they also have bananas for the Pizza if you desire to have them. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. The food is great and the staff is super friendly!

I read about this great place in the Miami papers today and it lived up to everything the food critic said...a great addition to Miami food circuit. Beautiful surroundings backed up by wonderfula attentive service with a smile. The appetizers and dips will blow your taste buds and the Large plates and desserts are to die for...great for our large group of 8 with two serious foodies and a strict vegatarian. Try the Vegan Moussaka and the Chocalate cake and dont leave without tasting the noodle dish. take a tour of the outdoor lounge areas..,beautiful ambience throughout. place is great for a romantic dinner or a big group as the high ceilings and wonderful windows add to the intimate settings..great tungsten lighting as the night moves in. A real treat for foodies and lovers of cool spaces and great service...you could be anywhere in the world its so great.

What a cool place where you'd least expect it: 79th St. Given the hipster look of the crowd the area is about to transition, and Mina's is reason to venture to 79th street now before the eventual onslaught of baby strollers. Here are a few highlights: - The decor is relaxed, cool and more Brooklyn than Miami. Check out the large, loft-like windows at the back which were completely hidden prior to renovation. - The stuffed cabbage app is packed with flavor...the best I've ever had. They could make a mint freezing these and selling them in grocery stores, but...they will only make them to order. I asked. - 2-for-1 happy hour (beer and wine only at this time) - Ample parking - Plans for a huge outdoor space are in the works. Keep your fingers crossed. We'll be back...at the bar...enjoying stuffed cabbage and frosted glasses of beer.

This place is solid. I first came here with my wife on a week night and had dinner at the bar. Great food, good craft beers and good wine selection. Since then we have been back about 7 times for brunch with a larger group. Everyone is always happy with this place. Great hummus, great gyro sliders, great blueberry pancakes, delicious Spanish omelette. I can go on and on. Every dish we have tried here is excellent. Service was always good but every time we have come here it has been pretty slow. Not sure how it will be on busy days.

Just recently discovered this gem and it's been wonderful on each visit. I have been twice for dinner with my husband and once for brunch with my bestie. This is the kind of place that makes you feel like you're part of the family; well taken care of and cared for. I felt at home as soon as we sat down on each visit. The food is high quality and delicious, you can't go wrong with anything! I love that they have specialty cocktails, though I haven't tried one yet. The atmosphere is clean, nice and comfortable, chill music, and parking is plentiful. Great place for a date, family dinner, get together with friends, etc etc. I just love this place and I think it's safe to say that we'll be regulars here!

Today was my first time trying Mina's. It was takeout so perhaps it's not the best representation of their restaurant, but it definitely wasn't a good first impression. We called in, they said 20-25 minutes. Nope, turns out 1 hour and then some. After a long wait the food arrives along with a check that $20 more than our order. They tried to charge us for 2 wines at the bar, altho we didn't order them. After a refund and more waiting it was finally time to try the food at home. The arugula salad with grilled salmon looked like leftovers. Really, I mean chopped up fish, hot wilted greens and pre eaten food. With how crazy the kitchen seemed, it very well might have been someone's doggy bag they gave us. The Greek pasta was good, but you can't really mess up noodles with oil and herbs. The cheese was fresh and the gyro meat was good. The most disappointing part of the meal was the falafel. It's a simple thing that should be done right. It tasted like an over fried hockey puck and was the least edible thing. I was looking forward to this joint being good but I won't be rushing to come back. Weekday take out needs to be banging. No one has time for a crappy meal on a Thursday.

This place is awesome. First off the staff is top notch very friendly. As soon as you walk in you get a sense of cleanliness and professionalism. The food was outstanding the philo dough meat pies are great. The pita is homemade and big. Stuffed cabbage, lamb slliders and gyro slinders were perfect great flavor moist and delicious. Didn't try desert but I'm sure it's good. I highly recommended trying this place out don't let it's location steer you away go here you'll be glad you did!!!

brunch here this delish home made tasty menu was a nice switch up from the traditional brunch menu. The mimosas were sparkly and a good start plus they are bottomless.... Our grape leaves were warm and the best I have ever had. The moussaka is layers of eggplant ground beef and whipped potatoes with some greek sauce that was hearty and yummy. And my spanish tortilla was fluffy tasteful and hit the spot! We will be coming back thanks james! U killed it ... The only thing missing was my Bloody Mary , even with just beer and wine u can use sake to make a killer sake Mary, see u guys soon!
