Too Jays food is good. It's not katz's, or the Carnegie Deli or Harold's, but for central Florida, it is quite good. The Vero Beach location had better service than I experienced in Melbourne. With one or two exceptions, the Melbourne staff is clueless and a few of them couldn't care less. Too Jays gets 4 stars for the food and dessert quality, but would've gotten 5 if someone bothered to train the staff.

Sometimes, the current year isn't doing it for you, and you need a short step back in time...say 1996...to a generic mall restaurant with a feel reminiscent of Ruby Tuesday. Sometimes, you're aching to catch a woman with a mullet, who also looks like a man. This is your place. There's a sandwich called the "Jaynormous" and no, it's not low carb. It's 1 1/2 lbs of meat alone. There's advertisements for an eating contest on each table, and finishing the Jaynormous is a qualifying requirement. The menu itself is enormous, consisting mostly of sandwiches, burgers, and salads. I can advise against the Mediterranean Turkey Ciabatta: which is missing flavor.

We only go to the mall every blue moon but every time we make sure to eat here. My kids begin chanting Too Jays when we pull in the parking lot. The food is yummy the desserts divine and kid & family friendly

I have eaten here once, and their food is delicious. I tasted everyone's food at my table, and have have tried the roast, the turkey slices, the french dip, and the chicken with bacon etc. I do not recommend the chicken (it was dry and nothing special), but everything else was the best I have ever tasted. Stick with the home-cooked meal type foods. The waitress our table had was GOD AWFUL. We're pretty sure she forgot to put in our order for a while because other tables who came after us were getting food before us. Finally, when she brought our food out, she gave my friend's sandwich to someone at another table and said that both tables' food was coming out. This was a mistake because that table's family didn't get their food for some time, and he had ordered a slightly different sandwich. I think she put in a rush order for my friend's sandwich after giving it to the wrong table because it came out a few minutes later, but it didn't have the right stuff on it, and she never brought out his cole slaw. It was a big mix-up that resulted in one person at both tables getting the wrong sandwich and the guy at the other table getting his food way before the rest of his party. She did not offer us drink refills, and I had to ask for a refill which she still never brought. She ran around and did other stuff, until I had to call her over a second time and say can you PLEASE get me a refill. No one wants to eat their food without a drink, and I personally have trouble swallowing food without a drink. They need to fire this waitress, or not give her so many tables or something. I don't live near this area, but the next time I'm here I'll definitely try it again for the food. If I get another bad server, I'm done with this place for good. I'm sure the other servers are fine, this one waitress we had, though, was AWFUL, and made for an awkward dining experience for my party

This is a Jewish casual dining chain that found its home in the Melbourne mall within the past decade. Surprisingly, it was my first time eating here. I came for lunch with a friend on a random weekday. When you walk in, there is a deli to your right where you can order food to go or order deli items and desserts. On the left, you can have the usual sit down experience. Our server was a middle aged woman who wasn't the most friendliest person, but she was not mean and did everything correctly by my "How to Appropriate Service" book. She did call us both "kids", even though we both became adults 10 years ago. Ah well, I will take that as a compliment! The place is more of a high end cafeteria setting. I did feel a bit chilly. So if you are one to get cold easily like me, it might not be a bad idea to bring a sweater with you. The menu has a ginormous selection of everything. It reminded me of Cheesecake Factory. Lots of cold and hot sandwiches, entrees, salads, soups...it filled the full four to five pages without leaving lots of spaces or margins. And the prices were reasonable for its portions: I had a hearty turkey avocado wrap (a new item) and fries for $9.49. Again, think cafeteria style quality. Nothing to brag home about, and this is not an establishment I would want to bring a date here....unless we had been already married for 50 years and were senior citizens. I wouldn't mind going here again, and I would recommend mall goers to at least once in their lives stop in here for a meal instead of eating at the food court.

I love TooJays. I've been eating at the restaurants for years in South Florida and was happy when they opened up here in Melbourne. The food is always good and consistent with descent portion sizes at a great price. The menu has lots to choose from. One of my favorite restaurants.

The food is excellent!! Quality ingredients. Great variety! If you want healthy options, they have amazing wraps and salads. If you're in the mood for something mouthwatering...their Rubens, Corned Beef sandwiches and burgers are a few favorites! I can't find a grilled corned beef in FL that is better than Toojays!

Roasted chicken was perfection. Corned beef sandwich delicious as always. I have been a TOOJAYS fan for many years and will be for many more.

I have a soft spot for TooJay's. There are things on the menu that I just can't go without and I spend a lot of time in the mall since I work retail. It's the only sit down establishment in the mall and it's all fairly priced. The quality of food does seem to vary greatly as does the service. I have been going to TooJays for several years and every time I am in there I don't see the same staff members. My guess is that there is a high turn over rate and that would be the cause of the on and off again quality and service. The atmosphere is what you'd expect. It's cheesy low brow diner type decor and the tables are sometimes (okay most of the time) sticky. I think it's whatever cleaning solution they use.

Ordered belgium waffle. Expected it to be fluffy and light. When it came to the table it looked like they thawed it out from a freezer. Was crunchy and unsatisfying. Also ordered a side of bacon and was given 3 instead of 4 pieces. Either they forgot one or someone in the back ate a piece. Our server tony didnt know the menu and we weren't checked upon so there was no way to change my waffle order. Won't be visiting a toojays again.

What Melbourne always needed was a good Jewish deli, unfortunately to date, Melbourne still needs a good Jewish daily. If you have read some of my previous posts, you will find that I am still looking for a good restaurant in Melbourne, besides Texas Road House Barbecue, note: the only 3 star restaurant in the area. How do I judge food, certainly not by the ambience, the price is always important , the quality and at least some semblance of tradition should also come from the food. We have had the usual fare at Toojay's, but for a deli of utmost importance is the corn beef and pastrami. After a major disappointment with the pastrami, I emailed the main office. To their benefit the manager called me a few day's later and apologized, after all he had been on the job a few months, and had no knowledge of deli foods. Unfortunately, the management at corporate headquarters evidently has no knowledge of deli foods. Still on the search for a good restaurant, inexpensive, and food I don't necessarily make at home. Note: pastrami takes 3 weeks to make, not just purchase at the local supermarket.
