Good food, decent prices. Burgers are always a good choice. Wish you could get half portions of dinner items. Love that you can park your boat and get a table! Our waitress wasn't very friendly the last time we went, but that isn't usually the case.

My fresh tuna sandwich was amazing. The homemade wasabi mayo is a must. The service was great too!

The Chowder is very good & the Crab Cake sandwich was outstanding. Pair this with happy hour drinks & it's a great lunch at a good price.

Had lunch on 5/16/14 and the food and service were both exceptional. Great atmosphere and a great experience. I suggest you dine outside under the tiki shed and feel the breeze as you enjoy a great meal. My girlfriend had a great chicken salad and I had french dip that was so very tasty. Everything was fresh and good.

Our visit was on a Thursday evening immediately after sunset. Attempted to sit outside but we began to be eaten alive by bugs so we dined inside. Music was nice, drinks were OK, unsweetened ice tea was terrible, Sangria was OK but the outside was good. As for dinner, we tried the stuffed shrimp, dill pickles and island bread. Shrimp and scallop skewers were fantastic. The mushroom swiss burger and crab cake sandwich were not very good. The prime rib was OK as well but lacked flavor.

Are you kidding me??? Just read some of these reviews and wondered if they were talking about the same Miceli's that I know. We are local, have eaten here many times and the food, service and music have always been great! Plus, they've catered a home party for us and our guests loved the food. However, the reason I sought to write this review was prompted by the following experience. Yesterday I hosted a luncheon at Miceli's for 99 women of the Cape Coral New Residents Club. Mike & Joe Miceli and their staff were phenomenal. They served all 99 meals in just 8 MINUTES from first dish to last!!! And, each meal was served to the correct person...no mix ups anywhere. The food was hot and delicious. The waitstaff was very efficient and attentive and kept the water/tea/wine/drink glasses full. This was my 6th hostessing event (1x month) with the numbers in attendance ranging from 99 to 112 and no other restaurant has been able to get everyone served a hot meal within 30 minutes let alone 8!!! We will continue to enjoy Miceli's and after yesterday's performance, I would bet they are about to become quite a bit busier. Great job Miceli's and thank you for helping to make my luncheon a huge success!

Delicious every single time!!! The pizza is incredible and the grouper strips are the best around. Would recommend over and over again!

This was our first visit here. I have to say if we lived a little closer this would be a regular hang out for me. Very nice outdoor atmosphere and entertainment. I got a Stromboli and I have to say it was very good and large enough for 3 meals. The sauce it came with was delicious, I just wish I had more. It was stuffed with meat and cheese throughout ( not just a bunch of dough on the ends ). Server was friendly and on point. Will definitely stop by here again when in the area

Stopped in at Micheli's yesterday, a Thursday evening for dinner. Was pleasantly surprised to find a large outdoor patio covered by a tiki tent with live music on the canal. Talk about great ambiance and great way to spend the afternoon with family and friends. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs. We ordered calamari and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. The calamari was perfectly fried and was served with a garlic ranch dipping sauce. The stuffed mushrooms were good but there was nothing really special about them. I ordered a frozen margarita because it was on the happy hour menu. All drinks other than water are served in plastic solo cups. Not my favorite but I understand they do not want glass breaking on the back patio. For dinner I ordered the Crab and Shrimp Ravioli. Yum, Yum, Yum. The ravioli was stuffed with ricotta cheese and covered in creamy scampi sauce. There was crab and shrimp sprinkled on the top of the dish. It was absolutely delicious.... just be prepared to wear sweat pants or yoga pants for this meal because I felt like I gained five pounds after eating this ravioli dish. In general, the portions run on the larger side at Micheli's so there will always be leftovers to take home for the next day. Overall, good food, friendly service, and a great outdoor dining space to spend with family and friends.

Ducked in for brunch on a Friday with the family and it was an average experience. Here's why: * Our waiter, Peter, was ambivalent and seemingly distracted * The French Dip "special" was $10 bucks and about as average as they come The meat in the sammy was a little on the fatty side and certainly tough. And it didn't fill out the bread. FAIL. The Au Jus was bland. We got two orders of the smoked fish dip (bland) and had to ask for extra crackers. They serve the dip with the little individually wrapped 2-sets of crackers. Most of the crackers had been mishandled and were not whole. I hate that. And they didn't serve enough of them. Full liquor, on a waterway with outside seating but no exterior bar. The interior bar was starting to fill up in the afternoon, and the bartender was a cutie, so I need to go back and scout that scene. The highlight of the visit was the hostess with her perfectly sculpted buttocks and yoga pants. That may bring me back. If I come back, I'm trying another dish. Cabeza OUT!

Dreams came true.... In my mouth. Our party of 8 ate here last night. EVERYTHING was good. Service was excellent. Prices are more than fair. Great live music while we ate. Bada bing shrimp, bada bing calamari, tuna tar tar, prime rib, shrimp scampi, lobster mac and cheese.... All very very good. Apatite are portions are large enough to be a main entree. Will eat here again every time I am in town.

December 28, 2014 Nine family members arrived by boat. We sat outside on the lawn to listen to music and to enjoy a couple beers. Great venue for this. Server did a great job. The group ordered all across the menus and not a complaint. Salads, soups, wings, grouper sandwiches, a whole mix of things. Pricing is about $$. Restrooms very clean! Everybody was nice as pie.

Visiting my parents in Florida, we always go out to eat & try they places they frequent. They're fans of Miceli's. The restaurant is located on the way out to Pine Island and Matlacha. It's on one of the waterways, and they've got a large patio area with a small stage for live music. We showed up around 7pm and decided to dine outside. We were told 25-30 minutes but it only took about 5 minutes to get our table on the patio. Our server was very sweet and fast. The signage on the table said that happy hour prices were from 11-7pm, it was 7:20pm so I asked if the sangria was still $3.50 a "mug". She said yes so I ordered on of those. The sangria arrived and it tasted more like fruit punch with a little alcohol in it then wine with fresh squeezed fruit. Also, it came in a small, plastic cup. Smaller than the cups the draft beer came in that we're also listed as "mug" in size. If I were you, I wouldn't order the "sangria". We decided on some fried artichoke hearts. I'm glad we did because they were SO YUMMY. They had a dipping sauce that was garlic aioli. Get them. I ordered the calzone with pepperoni and mushrooms. Be careful with ordering because it's $9 for the calzone and $1 for each topping. I think they should do maybe premium toppings for a dollar and the others for 50 cents or something. I was able to try the Caesar salad and it was good. Fair warning, don't salt the Caesar salad, it's plenty salty. They bring a garlic bread to the table which is quite delicious. I think it might be unlimited because we got two loaves of the stuff. The calzone came and it was HUGE. I didn't think it would be this big. I was able to only eat half of it before asking for a box. The calzone was great, lots of cheese, and not just all mozzarella, but tons of ricotta cheese. I wished they'd had a little more toppings inside. I had a lot of pepperoni, but not many mushrooms. They had a woman outside with a guitar, signing. I'm not sure if she was on the microphone too much or what, but it was hard to understand the songs she was singing. I could've taken it or left it. I more so liked the outside dining. We went back two days later because we were in the area & had gotten a 20% off coupon from the Captain Jack Boat fishing tour. I ordered the Italiano pizza, small & it was great. A little salty but that's probably because of all the meats.

We are here in a Monday night in August. Very surprised that the town closed up so early, but service was good, they allowed us to hang out till we were ready to leave. As a party of 2, we ordered a pizza which was very tasty , along with a few drinks from the bar- everything was good. People were dancing to the live music which ended at 9, and appeared to be having a good time. We would return

It is an interesting Florida restaurant: a mix of italian food (not trying to be Olive Garden, thank god!) and seafood. I thought some of the prices were a bit high. My father said his Mahi was salted too heavily. I had a blackened fish, which was saltier than I am used to getting (thought I wouldn't say too salty). My partner had a plain cheese calzone - I thought it was pretty good, but he got bored. Big plus: the band was good. After we finished our dinner we went outside to listen for a bit. Big minus: no one ever stopped by to see if we wanted another drink. We had taken out drinks that we hadn't quite finished from dinner. Had someone offered us another, we may have stayed longer.

First time here loved it second time here the service, the wine, and the food disappointed. Sorry folks but I believe the server makes a significant difference in a patron's dining experience. Starting - my other order a cold draft which was delivered and it was perfect. I ordered a glass of the Italian red but said I'd like to order something else if the bottle had been open for awhile. (Remember that.) My wine was delivered...so cold it had condensation on the plastic cup...red wine...plus it smelled. Rubber hose, skunk, and sewer all rolled into one icy plastic cup. It reeked. I mentioned it to the server and she said I could order something else so I went with a known NorCal favorite Cab which she delivered and it was fine. Unfortunately, the server showed her, and apparently the entire restaurant staff's enology ignorance when she said that the first glass had been from a bottle that had only been open for two days (meaning it was on it's third day...ick) and that the entire staff tasted it and they all thought it was fine but everyone had their own tastes in wine. E-gads! I nodded politely thinking to myself how true that statement was. Medium rare burger was medium well and the veal parm with penne was so bad I could only eat a few bites...pasta was served cold and crunchy on the ends. I'm sure that's not what al dente means, right? Took the veal home and gave to my neighbor's dog. I thought I was going to be a regular at this place and recommend to a lot of people but they truly disappointed. Still left a tip over 20%.

Dinners are a Horrible asked management if they would eat this.... they looked at it and said what's wrong with it. I wish now I would have a picture of the dinners we received. . I never saw such a plate of garbage and to be treated like we were crazy.. look at my other postings. I am easy to get along with restaurants.

Micelis is a great waterfront place. They have an awesome outdoor patio with lots of seating and live entertainment on the weekends. They have happy hour from 11am-7pm every day - and by happy hour, I mean we ordered 3 vodkas, 1 rum, 2 beers and paid less than $30. We had dinner for 14 on the night we were there. We made a reservation in advance and sat inside as it was a little chilly/rainy and didn't want to take a chance. We had an assortment off of their menu - chicken wings (good), shrimp in chili thai sauce (great), filet mignon special in marsala sauce (was great for the price - $16.95), shrimp scampi (was tasty but we expected the shrimp to be large gulf shrimp, which they were not), burgers, salads and a giant calzone. We continued to drink our alcoholic beverages at the table in addition to multiple sodas/iced teas. The service here is great. And the best part - the bill for 14 people (5 kids) to eat and drink and have a night out was $298 (with the 18% gratuity added). Whenever I'm in Cape Coral, Miceli's will be on my must go list.

Recently my sister moved to the area and we were visiting. They had been to this restaurant a few times and bragged about how much they liked it. The restaurant looks older like they have been there a long time. The dining area is a nice size. We sat outside near the canal. Plenty bench type seating outside. Our server was very good throughout our whole visit. We started with scallops, spinach dip and a few other appetizers. Then I made the mistake of ordering eggplant which came with a side of pasta. It was a penne pasta with a marinara sauce. Wow after the first bite I knew I could not eat it. Literally the pasta was overcooked and the marinara sauce was super sweet and tasted like ketchup. The eggplant was rubbery and I did not care for the breading on it. My husband tried it and said "yes honey do not eat it". All of the food we tried tasted frozen, micro waved, and not good quality at all. The atmosphere is fun and when we were leaving a band was coming to the outside to start playing. I think it would be a fun place to hang out, listen to live music and have some beers but not for food.

We stopped at Micellis for lunch. Nice patio out back! We ordered 5 apps plus margaritas. The grouper strips were outstanding, as well as the crab cakes. The onion rings and fried pickles were good. The cold fish dip was ok. Margaritas are $3 for happy hour and understandably they are heavy on the sour mix at that price. We were sat promptly and service was good. All in all a positive experience. I would return for a bite!

My date and I enjoyed a great meal that was enhanced by the waiter Steven. His suggestions of the appetizer, smoke grouper seasoned and spiced that was incredibly tasty with a lemon wedges, cucumber, and mild peppers just added to the meals experience. We shared a grouper fish taco and it was even more if not as good as the appetizer. This restaurant has been booked marked in my yelp program and I will return.

This was our first time at Miceli's after passing it several times on the way to Matlacha. We started off with mugs of Sangria, which were good. $3.50 all day for a beer mug size sangria is a pretty good deal. I started with chili- I thought it was ok. It had heat but no spice to it, which I missed. It needed some more flavor. My man had read the reviews on their clam chowder and he was not disappointed. He said it was fantastic. They also bring out garlic bread and that could have had more garlic but was still good. He had Shrimp Scampi (posted a pic) over thin spaghetti and he enjoyed it. There had to be at least 18 decent sized shrimp and a very generous portion of pasta. I had a special (also a pic)- blackened Cobia fish with a tri-citrus pineapple sauce....absolutely delicious. The fish was very tasty and spicy and the pineapple chunks stewed in the sauce were delicious. I had green beans on the side which has a healthy amount of garlic on them (yum). We got a piece of key lime pie to go, but we're so full from dinner we haven't tried it! I would also like to mention that our server, Linda, was awesome. She was there when we needed her and very friendly and cheerful. We would definitely go back and sit outside next time, as long as it is cooler out. They had a band playing and they sounded good.

Miceli's did not impress me as a first time customer, and I don't mean issues with the food. The restaurant makes good food and we went there based on a recommendation. It was packed as its typical with every place on a Saturday evening in SW Florida. we hung out at the bar waiting for a table. After we were called to our table, I asked the bartender for my bill, he said it's $6.50 for the 2 beers we had. I gave him $10.00 and waited for my change. I waited few minutes and I see him walking and helping other customers. I finally got his attention and asked him for the change. He said, oh I thought you were all set. I said I was not. I never said to him that it's ok to give him $3.50 as a tip for 2 beers. I don't know where he got that from. He gives me my chg back and looked little annoyed. I did leave him his tip. Not sure if we would go to miceli's again. I felt I was getting robbed, I understand it's $3.50 , but the principle of it. You don't do that to your customers. Have respect, customers pay your salaries at restaurants.

We had lunch here. I had the shrimp wrap with bada bing sauce. Wow it was wonderful. I loved it so much I bought some sauce to go. Come to find out you have to wait a few minutes to get the sauce because they always make it fresh. It is not pre-bottled. Well worth the wait. We will go back.

There aren't enough positive things to say about Miceli's. I am astounded to read a negative rant by a tourist from Texas that is really a nasty critique of the quaint town of Matlacha and an attack of the people who live in the SWFL area and the Gulf Coast of Florida disguised as a review the restaurant Miceli's. I live up the road and frequent Miceli's regularly. For the record, I'm not a Midwesterner. I am a New Yorker and my husband is British. We realize they do things bigger in Texas, but in quaint Matlacha, things are done with charm and manners, and as He pointed out, the waitress, and Miceli's treated him nicely, regardless of how he felt about the decor, the food, or if he didn't like the fishtank or bathroom.... His ego could learn something from Midwesterners. On to the review: on 5/25/13, our most recent visit, our party of 7 came to Micili's to celebrate my Mom's 81st birthday. We made a reservation and our table was ready as soon as we arrived on a busy holiday weekend. It was incredibly busy, as it was Memorial Day weekend, yet our server , Randy, was attentive and on the ball the entire night. All of our courses came out timely. Our party enjoyed a number of different menu items, notably the Prime Rib, the Flounder and three of the party had the NE Clam Chowder and all enjoyed it. Note, we are all Northern's and found it to be excellent. Our drinks were refilled timely and dessert was offered too. No details amiss. Everything was delicious and the entire dining room appeared to be running smoothly. The live music from the tiki deck was enjoyed by everyone. The place was packed out of 'season'. It was a great night. It's also important to note as we found out when we got there, that as it was Mom's birthday, her meal was ON THE HOUSE!! Not just her dessert... Her entire meal! Live music on the tiki deck, ample parking, great food, friendly staff, affordable pricing and good sized portions. I've also enjoyed great lunches here and relaxed on the tiki bar over the water watching the boats and fish jump. Sooo relaxing and beautiful. Trust reviews by locals who have choices and still return, not egomaniacs who attack the people that live in the places they've just vacationed! Locals have many options, especially in a seasonal community. When a place is packed to the rafters OFF season, you know it's a great place.

Recommended by a broker on Pine Island. My crab cake sandwich was very good and although I ordered the 12oz beer, she poured me a 16oz instead and charged for the 12. Good deal there. They were very creative trying to come up with a decent, vegetarian pasta dish for my wife and did a very good job of that. Very affordable, friendly staff and a bit above average food for a tourist area. Shows a lot of wear from father time though. Even though it was ok, I would spend more $$ and look for more upscale. However, who can beat a $1.25 beer, right?

We sat outside and enjoyed the outdoor tiki hut feel. They have live music and are on a waterfront. The food was decent. My friend loved the burger he had, my son really liked the chicken wings and I likes my veggie pizza. My husband thought his mahi mahi was only ok. We also had raw oysters and they were find. Our mixed drinks were only $3. Overall it was pleasurable. After reading all the other menus on this place I would suggest staying away from cooked sea food and sticking to the Italian dishes/american dishes.

8/3/14 the service here was excellent ,the food was very good.we had eggplant parm, shrimp scampi, and I had a 16oz rib eye whiskey soaked and the Mac and cheese was great . The service was excellent and our server Kathy was great. I would eat here again and again.

The full bar has a bartender who can mix a great drink!!! The bloody Mary's are excellent n other beverages too. We ordered an Italian hot sandwich on homemade roll w sausage n trimmings w a side of onion rings n fried artichoke hearts. The food was very well done n seems like this eatery caters to locals n visitors a like. Music daily on the outside porch w view makes this popular n business is lively. In spite of that yu can find a quiet spot inside for conversation n no blaring tv. It is a place we will return to for sure. Pleasantly surprised to find a bar that wasn't tooooo crazy on a Sunday lunch in Matlacha!!

Friendly service, bad tasteless food. Wine served in a plastic dixi cup. Horrible band (music?) outside, average age of patrons was 85. Stay away especially if there is a zombie apocalypse because this people are close to their final reward.

Have you ever thrown up in your mouth, then swallowed it? Welcome to Miceli's, where the food is even worse than re-swallowed vomit. I've been a foodie since I was a kid. I'm adventurous and LOVE trying new places. Simply put, and I'm not exaggerating for effect, Miceli's was the worst meal I've ever had anywhere by anyone. It was bad enough that I'm tempted to petition Yelp to add negative stars. It was that bad. Where do I start........... For starts, the place is essentially a small town, road side Italian dive. You know what I'm talking about. The kind of place that "thinks" it's upscale dining, but the owners have been trapped in their redneck riviera bubble for 30 years and have no idea their restaurant is actually a dump by non-bubble standards. The restaurant is dingy. Low hung ceilings make the place feel smaller than it is. There's one restroom up front that men and women share. It's somewhere between a Denny's restroom and your average Chevron, "grab a key at the counter and go around back" restroom. When we walked in, we were pleasantly greeted and advised it'd be 10 or so minutes. We were seated promptly. I was excited when I noticed we were being seated in front of an aquarium. Then I looked closer at the fish. It was a freshwater tank...........in an Italian seafood restaurant..........perched on the banks of the ocean. There was algae growing inside of it, but I know those things aren't easy to care for, so I gave it a pass. Next thing I noticed was the menu was HUGE. Ask any food critic about food and they will tell you one universal truth..........the larger the menu, the less likely you will get a stellar meal, b/c the chef's interests and practice are too divided. In my own life, this has been proven to be true probably 95% of the time. Big menus = mediocre food. My wife settled in and ordered. I got a blackened swordfish what was on the specials menu. I figured if it was locally caught, it was likely to be better prepared. It came with clam chowder. My wife ordered the crab cakes. I also ordered a glass of nero d'avola. I had hesitations when the waitress had never heard of the wine, and had to look at the menu to spell it. 20 minutes later, we had our meal. Right off the bat, I could tell the food was going to suck. The New England clam chowder was the consistency of water. Literally. And, my swordfish looked really hard, rather than flaky and tender. So, my wife and I quickly shoveled in a few spoonfuls of chowder. Wow, it was the worst chowder I'd ever had. And to top it off, it was literally 95-97% potatoes. There were virtually no clams in there. Next, we tried the crab cakes. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. The worst either of us had ever had (we love crab cakes). They were so dry and bland, we had to soak them in the sauce that came on my swordfish just to eat them. At $13, we weren't going to let them go to waste. Next, we tried the swordfish. It was like eating rubber. You literally had to saw it to take a bit, then chew for forever to swallow. Remember your dad or granddad's rule about chewing 21 times before swallowing? Dad would have been proud, b/c it took a lot more chews to swallow the blackened rubber.....er, swordfish. When the waitress came by, she asked how it was and I gave a polite, but honest reply. She watched me take a stab and the swordfish and could see how hard it was. So, she took it back to be redone with a hint of embarrassment. She apologized profusely, but it wasn't her fault. After 10-15 minutes, another arrived. Same store, second verse. Actually, this one was even more rubbery. And in the middle, it was still cold and read. Fail. I ate a little, then gave up when I got to the still frozen part. Guess "special" doesn't mean "fresh". They took the fish off my menu, which I hadn't asked for. Still had to pay for the nasty chowder and crab cakes. Ha ha. All in all, Miceli's is an example of a restaurant that exists solely b/c the frigid temps of the midwest have destroyed the taste buds of the midwesterners who descend upon the west coast of Florida like a plague of love-handled locusts. They plow through dumps like Miceli's, inhaling every morsel insight, while bragging to their buddies about how much snow they shoveled before coming down for a month. Side note: if you ever want to take a trip to the midwest, just come to the west coast of FL. You literally can go a week and not meet a single person that's actually from Florida. All of the waitstaff are from the midwest. The patrons are from the midwest. 30% of the cars bare midwest license plates. One thing that deserves praise, our waitress (I think her name was Robbi or Ronnie) was incredible. I've honestly never seen anyone hustle as hard as she did from table to table. If my own company weren't 1,000 miles away, I'd hire her, b/c she's the kind of hard worker you can build a business with. ~ Fabricio

We had breakfast/brunch today 2/25/12 rate 5 :(:(:(:(:( not sure if bacon was French fried or not, part was burnt part total fat. All four of us returned uneaten bacon. Complained to waiter with no response. No manager intervention. Witness several plates of bacon being returned to kitchen. Potatoes were French fry cut cooked in home fried fashion again :(:(:(:(:( Miceli's is good Italian, but they should get out of the breakfast business or maybe a new cook. We four will not go again.

All I wanted is what I saw on the marquee outside. Happy Hour $1.50 pints. Fine... I asked if they had a clam or conch chowder. "Yes, a clam" I asked. "New England or Red?" "New England." "Fine... A bowl and its happy hour right? What's on tap?" Yada yada yada..."Fine, I'll take the Blue Moon with orange slice." The beer was sour due to poorly cleaned lines. OK... I can deal with it. The chowder tasted good but the potatoes were undercooked and the soup was Luke warm at best. I should have left. But I was nice and told her it was not hot. It was whisked away to be unsuitably microwaved to a slight bit more warmed. I realized afterwards that I should have known that it was undercooked to begin with and may have fallen into the "Danger Zone" of food safety. Ate quickly and she said I should order the Oysters. I chugged my beer and declined. My tab arrived with the soup at $5.49... Fine... Beer $3.75...huh? I said the beer should be the happy hour $1.50. She said that Blue Moon and Sam do not apply. I said that when I said it was happy hour and ordered, she should have clarified. Well she hovered around me as I glared at my $9.80 tab total. I left $10.00 and felt I over paid on her tip of 20 cents. My stomach simmered with potentially spoiled soup and sour beer. Second chance will be year's later folks. Don't waste your time just yet with this local dive.

We love Miceli's! We always eat outside by the water. The outdoor area has some tables in the sun and some in the shade. The oysters and Bloody Mary's are our favorite. Good service and personable owner. Live music frequently. We have always had a good experience when dining at Miclei"s.

The food was pretty good and the band was great. We brought the kids on a Sunday afternoon and everyone enjoyed themselves.

As others have noted, this is a much larger restaurant than meets the eye from roadside. This is the best find so far in Southwest Florida. Clam chowder was super and thick. Crab cakes were 100% crab meat versus filler at other restaurants. Nice wine selection (not extravagant, but certainly adequate). There was live music on the patio that abuts the water, but it was hardly noticeable from our inside table. Mike and Vinny Micelli understand the concept of customer satisfaction and treating folks as they'd wish to be treated.

Best lasagna I've had in years and the chicken wrap was also great! We will be back. A previous review by an idiot Texan should be taken for what it's worth- nothing. We live here and appreciate good service and good food in the off season. Miceli's has both.

After experiencing food poisoning twice at Micelis (affirmed by posts from other eaters at this place) I went back on May 25, 2012 to have a drink (only, I would not eat there) and see if things had improved.. I did not get past the door. The owner's son said I had given a bad B*** S***review on TripAdvisor (expletive deleted) and was therefore not welcome. Since my previous review was based on City and State government reports of food safety violations and citations by Miceli's it was an eye opener to see the disdain Miceli's has for your food safety as well as the government inspectors who regulate them. Instead of saying something like "we have improved our food safety practices and may we help you?" Miceli's engages in a vendetta with anyone who has written a critical review by trying to silence them instead of addressing the issues and upgrading their food saftety. The shocking government reports started in 2010 (see the link below) and have continued ever since up to the present: city-data.com/fl-restaur… Welcome to Florida. Welcome to Matlacha. Welcome to Miceli's!

If you read the review from Modris below, be advised that his cigar stunk. That was the reason for the nasty review. The food here is great, good priced, and the mgmt is always friendly. Try the scallops, they're cooked perfectly!

3/9/12. - OK we have driven past the place hundreds of times and laughed about the fact it was always crowded. Finally found out why when we used a gift card our friends gave us. It was very oood. Better than Red's or the Bonefish grill. I had the shrimp and scallops and my wife had the veal Parma. Both were very good. the shrimp and scallops were lightly breaded and fried. NEither was over cooked. The garlic bread was great. the place always looks packed but they have an outside eating area so the place is twice as big as it looks from the parking lot. We'll be back.

Tried a dinner this time. The cheese raviolis came with a meatball on top. A garden salad to start with (and not just iceberg lettuce, there were cucumbers, a tomato, onions, peppers). I was so dang hungry it probably didn't matter how it tasted. But it was good. And the garlic bread that came to the table beforehand was nice and buttery and garlicky and a perfect accompaniment to the ravioli. Someone at the table got the ahi tuna app, which was enough for a meal. I took a little taste and it was very well prepared. It did take 3 tries to get a normally prepared gin martini. The first time I was brought a straight shot of Sapphire. The second time I was brought that same shot again but dumped into a martini glass with some olives. The 3rd time after I walked with the waitress to the bar to explain to the bartender what I wanted, I still didn't get the extra olives I requested. Next time I'll just stick with draft beer like everyone else there.

Tried a few times with mixed results...2 for $20 prime rib dinner was a bargain and enjoyed. Went with a party of 8 for lunch and sat outside on the water and everyone enjoyed their meals and would return. Went early for New Year's Eve dinner and the ran a great lobster tail special that fit the bill for a splurge meal. Only complaint was being seated at a very small table on a pass-through aisle! The food is not spectacular but it has been consistently good. We will return even if it's only for the full bar service and entertainment.

We thought we'd try this on a recommendation from a couple we talked with at Doc Fords (a GREAT place!) We all loved the prompt seating and super friendly staff. Our server was great; friendly and attentive. Now the food. We were really disappointed. The servings were large, but the pastas were store bought packaged. The sauces were not very flavorful. The clam chowder was watery. The crab cakes were a bit mushy. The shrimp and salads were good. We won't be back, it just wasn't good enough.

This has to be the worst place I have ever eaten at. The scallops are tough and I have no idea where they found these. I had a few people at our table try them and one of the women said she couldn't get the taste out of her mouth. We talked with the manager outside just to let him know how bad the food was and he damn near attacked me. He followed me back into the restaurant and started acusing me of making a nasty remark under my breath. The guys a thug. It's so loud inside you can't carry on a conversation. Save your money for a real place to eat.

I've been here a few times now for lunch and for an early dinner. We've always sat out back by the water. They have live music at dinner. They are a little pricey and the food is just average. The wait staff left something to be desired. The ambience is great and I go back just for that. I feel lunch is a much better deal.

I recently had Miceli's cater a fairly large birthday party and they were OUTSTANDING! From my initial request for catering help, throughout the menu planning process, and when Mike delivered the food to the house the service was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious!! These guys went above and beyond to make my party a fantastic one and I'll absolutely call on them again for future catering needs. So many thanks to Mike and Vinny for an amazing catering experience!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
