It should be criminal to get anything but the Cuban here.

Great subs but I hate that they charge extra to butter and press their Cuban subs. You'll never eat at subway or publix again! The sandwiches here are excellent and it's definitely worth the drive plus they have an amazing soda selection. Most you won't find anywhere else. Of course you pay dearly for them but like I said before, it's definitely worth it.

Subs are and have always been large, but MEH. I've been going here since about 1997, and the only reason I really go is to get the regional sodas from around the country. This is the World of Beer of soda... In fact, they should change the name to World of Soda. If you're from the NE and you miss the taste of Moxie, or if you're from the Carolinas and you crave some Cheerwine, this is the place to be! I think I'll head up there today...

This was a once a week place for my wife and I when we lived closer. Friendly staff. Great Cuban sandwich. Prices are reasonable. The sweet tea is brewed, but you'll want to try one of the place's many soda selections. If it's quirky and unavailable, they have it or can get it. Some cool soda memorabilia completes the decor.

A great sub place. Definitely one of the better ones near the University and College Apartments. This place is famous not only for their subs, but for their collection of soda bottles. Here you can find a historical arrangement of Coca-cola and Pepsi glass bottles, and they are available for sale. The food is delicious as well. the average price for a sub is about $6.00, and a bottled soda ( I had an RC) would set you a dollar and change. It is a clean atmosphere and I would definitely recommend it.

Great selection, good prices. Nondescript plaza but also has a good Arabic store with great pita bread selction and olives nearby.

LOVE LOVE LOVE their Cuban Sandwich! The variety of sodas is unbelievable.

Why 4 stars? Because the soda selection here is better than the Coke Museum in Atlanta. --- --- --- I guess the "Such" in Subs N Such stands for Simply Unmatched Carbonation Heaven My Cuban was great, do not get me wrong...but this place has the most wide spread selection of soda's I have ever seen. I settled on a Black Cherry and a Sarsaparilla. They were both awesome. How could you not enjoy something that's called Sarsaparilla? And, if you think I had to Google the spelling of that word, you are 100% correct. I wonder how they manage to carry such a vast selection, but I hope they are able to continue their tradition! It is completely worth the trip to Subs N Such from anywhere in Tampa - come thirsty!

I absolutely love this place. It's a true treasure... but I got a cheese steak today that was warmed up in a microwave! How does this happen?? They used to have a flat top grill and make as good a cheese steak as anywhere. But today wasn't by any stretch anything near decent. Still giving four stars based on past performance... but next time I'm getting the meatball sub. Also bonus points for the most amazing soda collection anywhere. Brought home a couple different kinds of root beer today, and will often get the orange cream sodas they have in quantity as well. If you can name it, this place has it. Also remember, like many quality Southern food places, they're closed on Sundays.

I'm so glad I work right around the corner. I love the owner and the food, I even have bought a DVD here from time to time. Great place!

If you pass between Sumterville & anywhere south on I-75 without stopping by here, you are missing out of one of the true gems of Florida. One of the largest soda collections in the South, the sandwiches here are insane. Half the ingredients of a Subway and 1000x the taste. This is one of the only places in Tampa i've found good sweat tea.

These guys are great. Place is clean. Staff is nice. Food is good and made to order. Move over subway.

Can't find a better sub shop and i've lived a lot of places and tried many. My personal favorite is the cuban sandwich, hot pressed, and messy with any of the toppings i please. After ordering you don't even have enough time to check out their vast collection of sodas before your sandwich is ready. If you like Dr. Pepper, you can get a can of it here from Dublin, Texas, made with pure sugar cane. Fantastic. This place is clean and comfortable with plenty of seating, although I've never seen it nearly as crowded as it ought to be. I also love how there are plenty of newspapers and local rags to peruse through while you sit and enjoy probably the best sub of your life.

Nice enough staff, great soda selection, tasty sandwiches. The owner travels a few times a year and picks up sodas from different areas, and they are all stored in a giant cooler. Glass bottle sodas ftw!! This is a true hole in the wall kinda place that has nothing corporate about it. A fun experience and has a lot of repeat potential for most who go there.

The staff is ok. Nothing spectacular. I wouldn't give them a thumbs up on customer service. Sandwiches are pretty good as long as you are specific about what you want on them. I'm not a big soda fan but I noticed their size-able selection of carbonated beverages. .Prices are overdone a bit, naturally because its in a college area where they know they can milk the cow as far as getting money from people.

Happened upon Subs N Such in college when I was living in Campus Lodge -- Not in the best location (off Livingston) so most people would probably keep driving unless they knew someone who recommended it (that's why I'm here). What a hidden gem though! Their steak n' cheese is my personal fave, but every sub I've tried was really good. If you like Subway, you won't like it here because your taste buds have already been ruined :). For someone who can appreciate a good sub, give it a try...oh and as previous reviewers have mentioned, they have a pretty big selection of micro-brew type sodas from around the country. I recommend the Birch Beer. Closed on Sundays!

4.5 stars Go for the Cubans!!! Get it pressed! I used to go here about once a week, sometimes more, while I was going to USF. I really like this place. Forget the chains. Seriously. The cubans here are really good, with real bread, great ingredients, and their plethora of drinks make it a more interesting trip. It's a fair deal too. The staff is usually real cool and quick with whatever you want. Their other sandwiches are also good but I usually stick to the cubans. It's really popular. One time I came kind of late and they ran out of cuban bread D: I miss this place sooo much!

Although I live about 15 miles away, I make the trek to this hidden gem at least once a week. I would probably eat there 3 or 4 times a week if it was closer. It's not as if this place will blow you away, but seeing how there isn't one stellar sub shop in the entire Tampa Bay area, Subs N Such holds the crown. The bread is always fresh, as well as the veggies, and they have a ridiculous selection of sodas (The owner is a collector of soda cans and bottles). Do yourself a favor and check this place out, you won't be disappointed. On a side note, can anyone tell me why there isn't one sandwich shop in Tampa Bay that has a grill? These places that serve Steak and Cheese via steaming the meat is a joke. All I want is a grilled turkey, bacon, and cheese sub. Jersey Mike's grills their steak and cheese, but wont let you grill any other meats!!! And this seems to be the case for other places that do the same. Is there some kind of Gestapo in this city that won't allow sub shops to serve grilled meat subs?

Best sandwiches in Tampa. Get it pressed and on Cuban bread. Used to live on Campus Lodge and I ate here constantly. Also love their sweet tea.

Subs and such serves up some of the best sammies around. They also have a very large and unique soda selection and have some of the sweetest sweet tea around. All around good food and definitely worth a visit! Only downfall to this business is that they charge extra to butter press a sandwich.

Ok so they have a bunch of cool old soda bottles on the wall. But do not buy a soda out of the fridge, unless it is brand new. They put sodas that they take off of the wall because there is not enough wall space and put it in the fridge and the soda is flat and disgusting. But worst of all my girlfriend ordered a philly cheesteak and the meat was frozen and they put it in a microwave to heat it up and then put in on the sub roll.... I ordered their cuban, which is supposedly what they are famous for and the pork was rotten. ROTTEN...... Do not eat here, I have no idea how they are still in business.

Grub out hide out. It's like a hidden wolves den for men to get a real sandwich. Only thing it's missing is real beer.

Awesome beer selection!! Small place to pick up a quick meal and discover old fashioned sodas. I've gotten the cuban and the cheese/steak subs. My favorite would be the cuban, the steak n cheese could have been a little bit more melted but still delicious. Nice little hidden treasure in the USF area.

Amazing meatball and Cuban sub! So quick and affordable with a awesome soda selection

Sandwich press was a plus. Husband ordered sandwich - there was something sweet about it and the meat seemed like cheap brothy quality meat. I had the greek salad - the potato salad was sweet - the dressing left a lot to be desired. They had a lot of cool/unusual sodas.

Best Steak and Cheese in Tampa!!! The staff is always so friendly. Spend your money here, not at some franchise owner's store.

Great selection of sodas you can't find anywhere else. Nice friendly staff. Clean restaurant. I used to live right next to this shop so I have been many times. The sandwiches are great but the Cubans are definitely lacking. I consider myself a Cuban sandwich snob and their version is just not very good. They butter and toast their bread but it is the most basic Cuban bread that one could find in the Tampa area. Also the meat ratio is terrible in the Cuban. It is basically a glorified ham sandwich.

OK, This place is an icon and near about a monument in the Tampa area and I have dined here with friends and family for over 10 years. I have always been satisfied with my choices of subs here as they are normally the "Dagwood" or the best cuban sub in Tampa that doesnt use shredded pork( thats just the most authentic way IMHO) but today it was suggeseted to me that the #2 selling sub here is the Cheesesteak. I hate to say this but this is the first and only time I have been let down by subs and such. First off they have no grill or flat top or toaster on the premises so NO ONIONS, NO PEPPERS, NO MUSHROOMS, AND NO GRILLED STEAK. The meat was placed in a plastic bag and placed in a microwave.....damn, too late to change my order w/o guilt so I just hung my head, but wait a minute, this is Subs and Such maybe they know something that I don't?. The meat comes out of the nuker and they drain the meat juices....there goes all of the flavor down the drain. So then I ask for extra cheese and the girl behind the counter says that there are already 9 pieces of cheese on it. WOW that sounds good to me, maybe this is gonna be all right. I ask for all of the spices, saalt pepper, italian spices, garlic salt (gotta get flavor from somewheres) So I open my sub take a bite and just...blah...disappointing...not happening. And then I look as sheets of unmelted cheese fall out of the gottom of the sub......I'm done. Luckily my beautiful wife orders more Cuban sub than she can handle and my son has the creamiest and flavorful Tuna sub I have ever put into my face. So Subs and Such, not mad at ya and still love ya but the #2 best seller is not even remotely close to my cheesesteak expectations or in the same class as other great subs that you serve. I did walk out with 2 more bottles of butterscotch beer yay! You guys still rock in my book. I hope that you one day get serious about making a great cheesesteak and add a flat top and some grilled goodies to add on top but until then, I'm back to the Dagwood.
