First off, cool space they are in. Room for large groups and a stage for live music. Plenty of room to come and hang out with friends. Parking is tight in the lot but there is some behind the building. No food but there are restaurants in the plaza. Bar staff were okay, not too friendly or interested in describing their beers. They have a huge selection and flights are available, they should tell customers about the beers and the brewery. Now for the beers...I just wasn't a fan. We sampled at least 8 of their beers and I didn't find one I would have a pint of. I'm not super picky either. I'd give it a try again when they add a few different brews but for now I'd have to say I'd go somewhere else for happy hour.

The new location is huge now compared to the old one. Good brews big bar top, sofas. Bartender was very knowledgeable about all beers. Overall it's a fun place. Definitely will be back.

Great selection of house brews, the Ninja was fantastic. Wako Taco next door is a big plus. Delicious!

This place is great! My husband and I went a few Fridays ago. Boy was I happy to learn that Friday is BOGO on their homemade beer for women. I loved the Metro Gnome and the apricot beer, although all the ones we tried were delicious. My husband got a flight and I loved how attentive our bartender was, as she would go and pour one as soon as she saw him choose it so that he'd have a beer ready while he was still deciding on the remaining ones. Really cool atmosphere, clean, nice building. We will definitely be back!

Visited their new location a few months back before heading out to a concert, I was shocked at how large the place actually is! We had a Groupon for 2 beer flights, our bartender kindly read me their entire brew menu (as I forgot my glasses and couldn't read the menu for myself) she also gave us recommendations as to what we may like to try. We loved the atmosphere, dark but fun and inviting. Very cool that you can see part of where the make the beer just from sitting at the bar. They have easily over 100 beers in stock. Great gem in Longwood!

Quite the pendulum swing from the location's previous purpose as Rebounderz gym, the Hourglass brewery is bringing in quite a different clientele. It's a massive step up in real estate from their previous location, complete with a 3-sided bar and numerous tables and booths. It's pretty dark inside due to the all-black ceilings and walls, too dark for my tastes, but the beer is what really matters anyway. I made it a point to try everything made in-house (why go to a brewery if you're only going to drink beers made elsewhere?) and I liked everything I tried. Some more than others of course, like the Morlock and the Stupid Pumpkin Face. The +5:30 IST IPA was also great, clean tasting and easy drinking. All of the bartenders were friendly and excited about the new location. We enjoyed our visit immensely and can't wait to see this brewery thrive.

LOVE Hourglass! Definitely a hidden gem in Longwood. When I visited last night, they had 6 of their own brews on tap in addition to about 20 or 25 from other breweries as well as a TON of bottles available. The atmosphere is dark but inviting and there's plenty of places to sit and chat with friends or coworkers. The bartender that was helping us was very friendly and knowledgeable. She was busy but we never felt neglected. Brews were fairly priced and growlers of pretty much anything on tap are available to take home! Definitely work checking out and returning to.

I love this place. Not just because I'm here almost everyday but also because I'm thirsty everyday. and its on my way home from school. GO STATE, GO FAR! But seriously, Hourglass rules...even since the move. They brew the best beer and have the greatest staff. (heh...staff) They're always awesome and the lighting is great for photos. And they have a great stage and a room to rent for private parties. And games and TVs. And everyone knows their shit. And you can color if you want. Plus.....there's a silver fox named Keith with a tight ass.

Love the La Fin Fu Monde. Reminds me of the Belgian Trappist beers I like. Great atmosphere here.

For places like The Hourglass Brewery Yelp should create some special category. Number one. Staff. Friendly bartenders with great knowledge about beers and brewing. Go there and ask for Shane. Ask him questions. He will have all the answers you need. This guy has such a big knowledge about beers that it's even hard to describe. Number two. Design. Place looks very modern, it's comfortable to sit there, it's spacious and you just feel good. Number three. Beers. They have 16 beers on tap and all of them are brewed right inside The Hourglass Brewery! My wife loved "Put de Lime in de Coconut". My favorites: Le Soir, Prestissimo and 5:30 Number four. Wako Taco :) If you are hungry you can go next door (in fact there is no door) and get some great Mexican food from Wako Taco and bring it back to The Hourglass. Number five. Awesome atmosphere. You can feel that this place was built with passion. People who work there are happy and customers are happy. Once you go there you want to stay. And come back. I can easily say that it was the best brewery i visited in my entire life. Unfortunately it's so far away from where I live. But... they sell kegs. :)

I love this place. I have been a fan of theirs since they started. Service is always friendly and timely. The location is chill and roomy. At times I wish they had more of their own beers, but that is just because I like their beer so much. With the restaurants next to them, this is a great location to sit for a few beers, grab a bite and chat with friends!

As out-of-towners looking for a place to hang out for a few hours on a recent Friday afternoon, we were glad that a search and a gps led us here! What's not to love? Spacious and comfortable! (We hit the couch area which was perfect for our group of 6 and a baby). Between the six of us we tried a lot of different brews, and each had our favorites. My two faves were Barista's Blessing, a Nitro Vanilla Coffee Brown Ale. And a Chipotle one that had a nice kick to it. Ale yeah! All of us were a bit disappointed that they didn't have their Chocolate Covered Pretzel stout, because it sounds fantastic! Bar service was friendly and they even offered a discount while it was thunder-storming which we took advantage of. Not that their regular prices are high anyway. They also have shelves of games you can play, and four of us enjoyed a few rounds of Trouble. (well, three of us did...one couldn't roll a six to save his life). There's a Taco place that is adjacent, and we got some queso and pico de gallo to go with our brews that were decent. Very clean and nice bathrooms as well. Very glad we chose this place to while away the hours!

This is probably one of the best breweries I've ever been to. The staff is nice and knowledgeable. They remember your name. The beers are are delicious. The only downside is no good, but you can bring in your own, order delivery or right next door is an excellent taco shop.

This new brewery is a hidden gem in Longwood. Located in a warehouse next to CrossFit and American Top Team gyms, this is a perfect place to grab a beer (and for the ladies, potentially meet some buff guys). I visited on a Saturday afternoon with my husband and a friend and we were immediately greeted by one of the bartenders. They let us sample a small shot of whatever beer we were contemplating on purchasing. I decided on a pumpkin beer, my husband a brown ale, and our friend a cider. They have about 5-6 beers that are Hourglass beers, brewed right inside the tanks in the back. They also have a nice selection of other types of craft beers both on draft and in bottles. The pumpkin beer that I had was an Hourglass brewed beer and was absolutely delightful. Prices are reasonable for their home brews. The brewery is a nice sized space for groups and even has a small stage off to the side for potential entertainment. They were playing some hip music at a level at that you can still hear the person next to you talking, which I personally appreciated. Patrons may sit outdoors as well and many will be happy to know that the outdoor seating area is pet-friendly. I will have to second another Yelper's review and say that they bathrooms are very clean (at least the women's). While it was a little slow at the brewery when we were there, I imagine that it may get busier in the evenings. They don't serve food at the brewery, but they do allow you to bring in outside food which is a smart way to partner up with local businesses. A few restaurants in the same plaza look like they will be conveniently opening up in the next several months (a pizza place and a taco place). Thumbs up for this new establishment!

I honestly liked this place when they were at their old location. The new location is bigger but I personally felt like the service could have been better. My friend and I went on a night that wasn't busy and the service was slow. On a positive not they have a large variety of beers for beer lovers and some cider. I personally am not a big beer drinker so I got the Mckenzie's black cherry hard cider. Loved it! One tip, make sure you try their homemade beef jerky it is very tasty!

Great new digs. I never went to the original, but the group I went with said it was super tiny. We went mid-day on Wednesday since we all had the day off of work. It wasn't very crowded but being that it was only like 3 o'clock, I wasn't surprised. I had their original brew: Brown Beer. I quite enjoyed it. They have their own beers on tap and then some ones they rotate out. They have a large bottle selection. The bathrooms were shockingly nice. I was not expecting that.

My favorite local brewery and bar! Both my husband and I have been to their current (new) location on average of once a week since they opened (October 2014). We have brought friends and coworkers with us as well. The only complaints from those we brought with us have been "don't they have anything other than beer" (yes, they have a small wine menu and cream sodas....but this IS a brewery) and that the flights available are limited to those beers brewed by Hourglass. Our only complaint is that when live bands are performing it changes the atmosphere completely, it's too loud to talk to your bartender much less the person next to you. On a day after work or earlier than live music starts on the weekend, it's great. There are several TVs around, showing everything from sports to TV shows. If you want to hear a particular show, ou can get the sound onto your phone. You can discuss beers with the wonderful waitstaff, they will give you ideas and suggestions based on things you already know you like. You can taste a sample of beers that are on tap before buying, so you don't risk getting something you won't be able to finish. You can view the menu that is on tap, live online before you go, or on multiple screens above the bar. Take note that the top drafts listed in yellow are all made by Hourglass Brewery. Several of the beers that Hourglass brews are our favorite beers overall, we will always try their additions to the menu. To give you an idea - yesterday during our visit, there were 29 beers on tap and 17 of those were their brews. 2 were new-to-us since our previous visit and when we left it was with a growler filled with one of those beers. Did I mention you can buy a growler there (or bring your own) and have it filled to enjoy draft beers at home? They also have a long list of bottled beers (ask for the menu or peruse the coolers) that you can buy to drink there or take home with you for later. We generally sit at the bar when we can and prefer that if it's just a few of us. There are also a lot high top tables, a few couches and booths around the bar. If it's early there might not be staff to walk around everywhere to take your order, but you can get up to the bar to order easily enough. If it's busier, there are usually at least 1-2 staff members coming around to take your orders. There are also video games in one area and a stack of board games you can borrow as well. We've even brought our own games in to play. Conveniently located next door is Wako Taco and Papa Bee's. There is an entrance to Wako Taco right inside and they will even deliver the food over to you at the bar as well. We prefer Wako Taco's - but I will review those places separately. If the parking lot is full up front, no worries, drive around to the back for more parking. There are double glass doors you can go through in the back, so no need to walk all the way around. Not to be forgotten, there is an Artist of the Month wall at the front of the bar. It features works from a hand picked artist. Take a look and find something new!

Learned about this place from one of my friends and I think every city should have one of these. First, I love that it's is connected to Wako Tako and I especially loved that this is an all-in-one venue - it's a concert venue, a place to play board games, a place to play video games, a place to watch sports and it's a brewery! Their draft selection has some variety and the flight I tried had some great options for everyone. I visited this place twice in 1 week, all with a group of friends and we all had a great time there. For being in Longwood, it's only about 20 mins away from the Downtown/Mills 50 area with a short ride on I-4. Definitely worth checking this place out.

I have visited Hourglass several times now and I really like the place. It is seriously lacking in atmosphere but the beer absolutely makes up for the cold, bland decor. They have a massive variety with something to suit every taste. I suggest a flight to start out exploring their goods. The menu changes regularly, which is nice (except when you don't get enough of something you love). Also, the staff have always been friendly and knowledgeable. There is no food, but you are allowed to bring in your own grub and there is a taco joint connected to the bar. I didn't care for the taco place, but that is for a different review. I tend to just eat somewhere before I head there. I will say that I avoid going when there is a live band. The acoustics of the place make it way too loud, I want to enjoy beer and conversation. That's just my thing. Overall, I will definitely continue to frequent Hourglass (just not when there is a band). If you love beer, go to Hourglass! EDIT: I forgot to mention... no smoking indoors! Thank you!!! What a refreshing deviation from bar norms.

Very good beer with great atmosphere and they let you bring in food. Different daily specials. Best one is probably $5 off first pitcher on Saturday. Anything with high alcohol they shrink the size of the pitcher and the glass. Prices on the high side particularly on their growler fills. There low alcohol standard stuff brewed their starts in the $15 range and anything good is like $30 to 40 for 64oz growler. Must be a Florida thing because it is new but have seen the same beers for almost half in Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina and Deleware when I fill my growler and 64 oz is routinely about ten bucks for standard beer with really good stuff $15 to $25. For example, I was in Deleware at Total Wine and got Brooklyn Soriachi Ace for $9.99 for 64oz growler and two hearted Amber from Bells for $12.99. I would guess if Hourglass had them they would be in the $30 range for the same poor. Hopefully Florida will have more competition so the prices will eventually be on par with other states and I don't have to leave my Growler home.

THE BEST brewery in central Florida. Not only is the beer stellar but the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Hourglass offers a great selection of their own and many other choices in their large cooler. With the recent addition of music and art work, this is by far the top brewery around. Such a great atmosphere. A true Mecca for craft beer enthusiast. Any negative reviews are obviously from people who are not craft beer drinkers. I come here often and so should you!

Slow, inattentive waitstaff service and mediocre, watery house brewed beer. Also, extremely large space with a lot of ambient noise from other patrons. Overall, won't be visiting again.

I've been here several times now, and I'll be back for sure. The beers are phenomenal! They have a wide variety of draft beers, and bottle beers. I love all their flights, and constant deals they have for happy hour/on their own brews. The only reason three stars instead of five is the service is very hit or miss. They tend to have a bunch of staff on at all times, but they are a bit disorganized. Came in on a Friday night and sat with completely empty drinks in front of us for a really long time before I was finally able to grab one of the 8 staff members walking by us. Some who were busy, some who looked like they were trying to find something to do. Hello! Ask the people desperately trying to order another drink if they want something else! We ended up only getting two rounds because it was such a pain having to get one of the many people behind the bars attention. If someone would have asked us if we wanted to grab another beer, when our drinks were even half full we would have loved to continue spending more $$$. Maybe we will get better service if we sit at one of the tables next time instead of at the bar. I don't know her name, but the short female bartender with a lip ring and brown hair is steadily becoming one of my favorites. She always recommends great beer and makes eye contact whenever she walks by. Even something as simple as recognition when walking by really goes a long way!

Being a craft beer fiend I may be biased when reviewing this place. First of all, I never went to their original location, so I can't compare to it, but I truly love this place. Whenever I tell my friends about this place I describe it as a geeky brewery. Here's my experience the first time I stopped by: I happened to be off work on a monday, and while in the neighborhood I decided to stop by. The first thing I noticed was they were playing "Shaun of the Dead" on the TVs (Monday is movie day), which is one of my favorite movies. The place has different mural paintings, including a Tardis by the bathroom, and a few more geeky decor details. I should say my favorite part is the art wall, where they feature work from local artists, which is for sale (and affordable!). On to the beer... I have to admit I'm not the biggest fan of their IPA, which makes me sad because I love my hops, but they always have several of their own brews on tap, along with beers from other breweries, on tap or bottle. They seem to rotate their beer on a regular basis, because I can always find something new every time I go. There's also a direct entrance to Waco Taco if you get hungry, and I'm pretty sure I've seen menus for other eateries. They also have live music every weekend, and considering the size of the establishment, it's a pretty good venue for it. Just keep an eye on the event schedule on Facebook, they have been booking several heavy metal bands (which my metalhead friends have been very pleased with), but they do get super loud, so I recommend ear plugs. So Hourglass, they have plenty of good craft beer, they're geeky, and also feature local art and music, in all, my favorite brewery in the area, definitely a place where I feel absolutely comfortable even if I am by myself.

Whoohoo! Now we have a great brewery in the area. I only wish it was closer to me! Lots of room to hang out and talk with folks. It was board game night and several folks were playing at different tables. Wait... You want to know about the beer I bet. Nice selection of brews by Hourglass and quite a few other selections as well. I had the Blonde to go with my tacos from Wako Taco. Yum. They are connected and you can eat in the brewery. Great pairing. My dessert brew was the Chocolate Salted Pretzel. Nice, dark and tasty! I'll be back and I'm bringing friends.

Beeeeeer. I've been in love with Hourglass for awhile. Their new location up the street is huge and beautiful. I did enjoy the intimacy of the old location but only half a dozen people could comfortably sit inside at one time! My friend and I always attend on Sundays for "speak easy" specials. They change every couple hours and you can stack them if you stick around long enough. Food options have opened nearby, or you can get some amazing pizza from Café Paisano just up the road. They always have such interesting beer creations and names. I wish I lived closer, but they are well worth the drive for Sunday Funday!

I walked in tonight and for a Wednesday night, this place is hopping. The decor has a good vibe to it and on one side of the bar they host an "artist of the month" for local artists. The Hourglass has a very large stage on one side and very large glass enclosed are all the vats where they create their beer onsite. I tried the flite of 5 house beers and they are all wonderful! ! You cannot go wrong with Hourglass beers!! They also have a large selection of sodas. The staff is semi-attentive. Due to not telling when I couldn't choose a beer that a "flite" was an option. But all-in-all, I love this place and I Love Beer!!

I love it here! Most of the staff are very friendly. I only had one experience to where the bar tender took someone else's order even though I was there first. I was listening to metal so I was in good spirits and didn't really care. Plus, she was nice the other day I was there. Great selections! I'll be back! For metal and beer ;)

Very weird location in the outskirts of Orlando, they have a lot of bottle beer decent amount of beers on tap. Fun place to hang out with groups of people maybe have some food ordered since they don't sell food! The beers they Brew are pretty decent, not bad but not the best.

To see where these guys started out, and to where they are now - way to go, fellas!! Huge selection of their own brews, plus a variety from other breweries. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and helpful. Nice, local neighborhood spot with occasional bands, a good place to hang!

Went here for the first time the other night and had a very nice time! As far as I knew they just moved here from their previous location a few months ago. We sat at the bar. The place is HUGE and I didn't even get to explore the whole other side. There were not darts or anything like that and the far wall was huge and blank which didnt make for the best atmosphere... could have used some big art on the walls or cool posters or something but, they also just moved in so maybe they are working on that. I did see the people near us playing jenga at their table so maybe they offer some games like that to play. I think there are sofas on the other side too. The beer was reasonably priced compared to other places and they had a great deal for $5 off your first pitcher of Hourglass beer which was a fantastic deal considering that's close to how much you'd pay for 2 glasses. We also got a flight so we could try most of their beers and they were all pretty tasty. It's a great place to come for beer lovers and people who like to try new brews. Also, there's not much in this area for that. we had 2 beers each, a flight, and a pitcher of quality beer, and our total was $35. I thought that was a pretty great deal!
