This is my new favorite Italian place! I have been driving by for years and on a whim my wife and I stopped and and had the best meal EVER...okay maybe not EVER but it was amazing! We got the garlic knots and they were amazing. Side note: they use large chunks of fresh garlic. So if you don't like garlic get them anyways... they still rock. both times I have been I have gotten the Chicken Parm. It is HUGE! Also, the best chicken parm I have had.

The pizza is good, the service is friendly and on top of it, and prices are reasonable (except for the Bud Light which is a bit pricey for the little mug). We especially liked the dough, as it is the chewy kind. Fresh mushrooms, thank you Jerry's for not using canned mushrooms. The meatballs are yummy. My only complaint is that not enough mushrooms were on the pizza.

Fettuccine Alfredo and cheesy garlic bread was delish! Pizza was just okay. Soft crust and went a little too sparingly on the sauce; won't keep us from coming back though! Service was awesome!

Pizza is the best thing on the menu. Price is average for a pizza of this caliber. Just wish the service was a little more attentive. It is local, so we usually dine here...more for convenience than desire.

Family owned and operated by a very nice family! This restaurant is roomy and great for hosting large lunch groups, etc. From the very beginning of the meal, everything from the bread knots and the salads with the load of cheese and home made dressing are excellent. My kids love the pizza, I love the Special Pizza the most, but the Calzones and Strombolis will keep you coming back over and over as well. A tip: If you order the large stromboli ... it comes in the XL pizza box, enough for a few people to share. So good!! The prices are reasonable. There is an early bird special before 7pm that includes about 10 selections for $8. Sometimes the waitresses are kind of ditzy, but luckily that doesn't affect the food! Kudos to the cooks.

My wife and I went for a quick meal. We were surprised how busy it was for a Tuesday night. There was only one waitress but she was hustling and the food was coming out of the kitchen quickly. We enjoyed an sizable Greek salad and medium pizza, both were tasty and fresh. We will be back soon.

Incredible but true: almost 7 years in Longwood, right in Jerry's backyard, never been there. Today's lunch changed that. My lunch host is a long time customer who told me a couple of things about the restaurant. Jerry, the eponymous founder and former owner, was a native Brooklyn-der of Italian immigrant parents who moved down to Central Fla. You can say that's impressive pedigree for an Italian pizza joint and restaurant. Dad's since sold his business to son Frankie. The place is clean and airy - as Melinda M. pointed out, with lots of room. The prices are very affordable. Two grown hungry men left with a tooth-pick in their mouths (OK - we didn't do that, but could have), with the damage being just north of 2 Lincolns - and one of us had an ice tea! We each had the half combo sub, which is the size of a 6", but filled with a reasonably generous amount of meat and cheese and trimmings, including oil and vinegar. Asking for whole wheat bread would be as futile as wanting a whole wheat pizza - it's not going to happen. My 4 stars are in anticipation of that great NY-style pizza I'm going to have come Friday evening. But first, to burn off that "little" sub, 3 miles each day, Paul: walk, run, or crawl, followed by some jumping jacks and a few burpees for good measure. Come on: hut-two-three-four...

We tried pizza in at least 10 Italian restaurants in the Longwood/Altamonte Springs/Apopka area in our search for the perfect pizza. Jerry's won hands-down. Excellent crust and toppings with the best cheese and sauce around. Friendly service and good atmosphere in this family-owned neighborhood restaurant.

I never write reviews. But for Jerry's I had to make an exception. The whole evening was a disaster. Having read reviews on Yelp and interested to try a new pizza restaurant close to home (after having moved to Florida less than two years ago), I was very excited to try Jerry's. We entered the restaurant around 6:15 on a Saturday night. Having never been there before, we didn't know if we were supposed to seat ourselves or not. So we stood there for about 15 seconds. Our server was bussing a table about 5 feet away but never said anything and didn't greet us upon arrival, so we said "do we seat ourselves?" and the response was "Yes, anywhere you like is fine". We've been to hundreds of self-seating restaurants and this was the first where we were virtually ignored. Upon seating in one of the booths by the front window, my 2 year old daughter dropped a toy on the floor. When I went to pick it up, I noticed a dead cockroach on the floor. Pretty nasty, but whatever. I've worked in restaurants for many years and these things happen. So far, I was totally willing to overlook the slow start. The next 15 minutes were fairly uneventful, until our food started to arrive. Our server dropped off our pizza. However, there were no plates on the table and there were only two place sittings for our family of four. So she apologized and said she was going to go get our plates and the pizza spatula. Only she went behind the counter and delivered a glass of wine to another table instead. About three minutes later, she came back to our table and asked how everything was, despite the fact that the entire pizza was still on the tray with not a single bite eaten. Then she realized "Oh, I'm so sorry, I forgot the plates. I'll get them right away." Only a new table sat down at that very minute and instead of grabbing our plates, SHE WENT AND GREETED HER NEW TABLE AND GOT THEIR DRINK ORDER. My wife had to go to the counter to get the plates. In all honesty, this might be the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. Who does this? Now, the funny thing about this experience is that the pizza is pretty good. Not the best I've ever had by a long stretch, but pretty good for central florida. Not too doughy, pretty tasty sauce, nice texture. Unfortunately, my wife could not say the same thing about her toasted ham and cheese sub, which had about one slice of ham in it and was about 95% bread. Regardless, you go to Jerry's for pizza and the pizza was pretty good. Unfortunately, we will never be back to experience it in the future.

It was late. One of those nights where you gotta eat but fast food ain't on the menu and you're not cooking. A few of the places I called were open, but I was cutting it too close to closing time and they wouldn't deliver. Pfft. So I tried Jerry's Pizza next. Man, what a different experience. Alicia/Alaina?? answered the phone and was super helpful and nice. She walked me through the entire menu and answered all my questions politely and patiently. Food arrived quickly...garlic knots had ALOT of garlic. Probably better fresh at the table instead of delivery. Pizza was top rate New York style with pepperoni. Yum.

Still as great as it was when I was first here 20+ years ago! My father and I stopped in for lunch today. It's been maybe a few years since I was last here, so I was long overdue for a visit. My father suggested that we go to Luna's for lunch, but since he, my mother and some of their friends had just been there this past weekend, I suggested that we try Jerry's instead. I'm glad we did. He had the eggplant Parmesan sub/sandwich (it is available in 2 sizes, 6" or 10"; he went with the smaller, which was I think $4.25), and I had 2 slices of cheese pizza ($2/each). He said his sandwich was very good, as was my pizza. It's the best pizza I've had recently & I'm looking forward to coming back in here again soon to get some more. The pizza was hot, fresh and delicious. It had the perfect amount of grease on it, the crust was great and the cheese/sauce just as wonderful. I forget exactly what the menu said, but I think lunch specials are offered from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Mon.-Fri., and maybe even a little bit on weekends (?). Not sure, but this place is definitely worth coming to, regardless. Our server was very friendly and the restaurant was a little more crowded than I was expecting. We had to park close to the very end of the shopping center as every other space, up to the one we took, was taken, and likely all parked vehicles were owned by Jerry's patrons. I knew this place was popular with the lunch crowd, though not this much. No problem, though - you're not going to have any trouble getting a table here as the restaurant is comprised of two dining rooms. There's ample space for many customers. Hmm ... what else? Oh, I think that Jerry's maybe only accepts credit cards/cash. No debit cards, maybe? I thought I saw a sign indicating as much near the cash register while paying. Stop in if you can and have some great food. You won't be disappointed! Price range is one $ for lunch/a few slices/etc., though the range goes to $$ after the lunch specials end and/or if you want a more extensive meal.

I went a few weeks ago and haven't reviewed it yet but it was the best pizza I've had since I can remember! Amazing flavor :) Staff was very friendly and casual; I can't wait to make it back.

I think Jerry's pizza is pretty dynamite. I've only eaten pizza, salad, and garlic knots and have not yet ventured into the food. I usually order from the new Jerry's on 436 in Altamonte Springs but I've also visited the one 434 because it's close to my office. I've lived in Brooklyn and Queens my whole life until 3 months ago and I've had many, many, many slices of pizza. I really like Jerry's. It's thin, not oily, sweet sauce, and the cheese is top notch. I prefer the Jerry's in Altamonte Springs. It's just a pizza place and they do pizza very well. Great staff too. I had no problems with the staff in the original Jerry's either.

Jerry's Pizza - only tried the pizza so this is not an extensive review, but I am writing because the service was some of the best service around. The waitress was attentive and I noticed other patrons were very happy and content and well cared for. And YES, the pizza was very good, we will definitely be visiting Jerry's again!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
