Zachary’s Bar & Grill Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Well this restaurant has changed hands, and not for the good. It is quite sad to be honest. We are a local family and love supporting small businesses, and especially like this restaurant. We decided to go to Zachary's like we have in the past, only to find out that they have new ownership/management. None of the staff there today did I recognize. We ordered the Hibachi Chicken for $12.99. You only get the chicken and one side, which at chain restaurants you at least get a vegetable or a salad. If you want to add a salad it's $2.00 more. I guess I was expecting something different then what I got. I received 2 pieces of chicken with what tasted like Sweet Baby Rays Barbeque Sauce on it, with a piece of pineapple on it (the menu says a ring). Now not to be insulting but all they did was unthaw two pieces of chicken grill them (if they didn't buy the grilled marked chicken already) and when they were cooked pour the barbeque sauce over it. At least in the Hibachi Chicken I've had before they cook it into the sauce. I got Mashed potatoes with my order which were surprisingly good. One thing I did like was that they had a beer of the month. For $3.50 you get 10 ounces. Another server told me for $4.00 you get a 16 oz beer. I ordered the Angry Orchard which is an Apple Cider and it is really good and from Ohio. Anyways I get the bill and I've been charged $4.50. I didn't say anything because realistically this will be our LAST stop there. The menu is very small compared to before and I have a beef allergy, and they took away all the sandwiches and flatbread pizzas. If you are looking for expensive do it yourself food, then stop here, otherwise I'd pick another option. It really is a shame, and I don't think they will last long, because once the Snow Birds come back and try the new Zachary's they will flock right back out.

My family and I went to Zachary's when we were staying at the nearby Mission Inn Resort and it was a welcome change from the chains in the area. The food was good - they definitely put in effort to come up with an interesting menu - but the service needs some improvement. There were only a handful of other customers and the staff was disorganized, but still very friendly. I think it'll be a great spot once they work out the kinks!

I have been wanting to try this place for a while now since it is located in the community where my parents live. Finally did try it last week and I am sorry to say I don't think I will ever return. First off, I find it odd that in this day and age a restaurant does not have a website or menu online. Upon arrival it should have been a sign that there was only one couple seated in the whole restaruant. The hostess and the waitress seemed more bothered than greatful that we were there. While looking at the menu I found it pretty funny that the two "clam" apps on the menu were spelled "claims", you would think they would correct that! Anyway, I like claims or clams whichever they are so I ordered them for an app. The clams were the ones you can find in a grocery store frozen food section, farm raised in China, and about the size of a nickle - the sauce they were in was good however. Then we proceeded to order dinner. The lobster tails on the menu sounded good, I asked the waitress if they were carribean lobster tails or maine lobster tails - she had no clue, and went to the kitchen to ask. Upon return she told us that they did not have any lobster tails. So on to my next choice....ok I will try the shrimp instead. After ordering the shrimp the waitress returned to advise me that they were out of shrimp too! Hmmm don't you think that a waitress should be informed at the beginning of her shift as to what they do and don't have. Ok my final decision was to order the filet mignon. My dinner arrived with a small, barely a 1/4 inch thick steak, which in no way was a filet mignon! At this point I just ate what was on my plate....seriously think it was a sirlon steak. (maybe the waitress didn't want to tell me they were out of filet mignon too, and thought they could pass off a sirloin as a filet). I do have to say that the vegetables were very fresh and cooked perfectly. Whoever is managing this business needs to make some very needed changes - that is even if there is a manager on staff, didn't seem like it.

Grab a drink from bartender Abe and watch the game, or come to enjoy one of the only nice places to have a business dinner in the area. This restaurant is locally owned. Also a good place to rest your laurels on the way back North from Orlando or the Keys.

Meh. Came here for Sunday brunch and was underwhelmed. Limited menu and expensive drinks, the pork was dry and flavorless and the flatbread was undercooked. $50 for brunch was ridiculous.

Found this place via yelp when driving back from Orlando with a hungry family. There's not much to choose from in this area. Was surprised to see the good reviews. I think there was only one elite review, so we decided to give it a try. When we drove up we thought the place was closed. If it wasn't for the cars in the parking lot and the place being in the middle of no where. I asked my wife to walk up to the door while I read the reviews to see if they were open. They were so we went in. note to management - get an open lighted sign - you can't tell from the road and the tinting on the windows if your open Service was good, just ok, friendly but not excellent Water tasted swampy - they need to invest in a water purifier. I ordered a burger, my wife the past primavera. She said her pastas was very good. I would have rated them 3 stars based on what I've written so far. But my burger was very very good. Perfect potato bun, with bacon, and a perfectly cook patty (hand made) seasoned perfectly. Told my wife this is one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Thus earning a 4 star rating.

Nice independent restaurant along US-27 that has a good variety of foods and friendly service. Went there recently and we had a great dinner: appetizer: fried green tomatoes (my first time - they were great), salmon, reuben, and burger. Setup in the restaurant is simple with bar and tables and a lot of televisions (six?) playing various sporting events. The restaurant is off of US-27 so hopefully they'll have signage along the highway to attract customers that are driving from Ocala - Orlando. I know they recently opened but we didn't notice any hiccups in service and menu items.

New owners? Same results: Awful food. Service was ok. They were out of 3 of the things we ordered, out of the wine and drinks we ordered. Steak and lobster? Flavorless jumbo shrimp and a grocery store fatty NY strip. Fettuccine Alfredo tasted like ammonia with some pepper thrown in. Appetizers were $8 of crap. I've worked in restaurants, this is sub-par to say the least.

We wanted to try Zachary's because it was new, local, close, and looked to be a bit more modern and contemporary than the retiree-oriented places my father in law had been taking us to. It was all that. The decor is a little sparse, and I was not pleased to see the TVs. If you divide diners into those that want TV distraction from the food and those that don't I am definitely in the second camp. The service was friendly but totally inept. I understand the waitress was training but I think a new place should probably make sure there is some experience on the floor to overcome the inevitable issues. Apparently the kitchen staff was training too. We ordered drinks but the young lady was not at all familiar with even the most common drinks, nor did she know what was on tap. One drink came out totally wrong. We were never given an opportunity to order am appetizer even though many were listed on the menu. We mainly ordered burgers and sandwiches. The food came out in two batches about 5 minutes apart. The orders were all mixed up and only two of the six of us received the correct dish. One order was missing fries. All of us thought the food flavor was great! If they can get organized in the kitchen and hire done competent waitstaff (or at least a good manager) they could really fill a dining gap in south Leesburg.

Great option for lunch or dinner In an area with very limited dining choices. We visited Zachary's with a party of seven on a fairly busy Friday night. Staff was courteous and accommodating. We were seated in a reasonable amount of time and greeted by our server promptly. Drinks were reasonably priced and well prepared. Zachary's menu offers a great selection of sandwiches and entrees. Food was served promptly...and hot! Here's a review by our group: Liver and onions - Excellent! Liver was thinly sliced and perfectly prepared, served with a light bechamel, onions and bacon. Fish and chips - Very generous. Portion of batter dipped cod. Fish was light and flaky and not overly battered with great flavor. Philly cheesesteak - Everything you're looking for in a Philly, perfectly prepared beef, juicy and flavorful on a great hogtie roll. Salmon Reuben - unique flavor combination that worked really well.

We enjoyed a very nice meal. Two of us had hamburgers, cooked to our request, another had a grilled chicken sandwich. Hamburgers and chicken were hit, flavorful and moist. Sides of sautéed green beans were good, and their complimentary coleslaw side was tasty and fresh. Service was prompt, waitress anticipated our needs. Our server was delightful. We are giving it 4 stars ( 3 1/2 really). Ambiance is a bit stark but so much potential. This place is in the start up mode. Keep it up folks, you can have a real winner here. Back patio could be a real asset!
