Finally made it over here with a Groupon last evening after about 3 months since buying it. While known to be s tourist stop, we're not, been here since the 80's. I had tried to get here previously but was scared off by crowds in the area and being ignorant about parking options. Arrived and it's casual and informal. A super nice waitress advised to take any table and was friendly throughout. We started with the hummus and pita bread and it was great. Then blackened mahi and baked shrimp stuffed with crabmeat which both were excellent. They came with a choice of sides which we went with what would be a greek salad. Portions were sizable for the salad and decent for the seafood items. The prices are what I would call full at about $28 for each entree perhaps a bit on the high side by about 20%. You do get the beach experience and a free pier entrance. The menu is diversified and had items from $12 and up. I would go back for sure. There's been several negative posts about Anglin's recently, my experience was positive.

Great Views, cold drinks, the bartender was sampling a frozen concoction. This place is more about the location that the food I think. Don't try to drive here, you will just get angry when you can't find a spot. There is a lot to see and try in Lauderdale by the Sea, make this a happy hour stop!

One star for location. 1.)Throw-up in parking lot on way in. Foreshadowing?(could easily have been hosed away) 2.)Seat yourself? Wait to be seated? Who knows... 3.)Coffee brought out in 8 oz to-go cup. 4.)Breakfast entree's brought out 4 minutes apart (with no explanation, is the other meal coming?) They were just eggs after all! 5.)No follow up for water, napkins, anything. 6.)Tables a mess, (bird shit on seat backs, this in spite of three staff for four tables) 7.)$25 bill left on small check (no folder, no pen just placed on the table) Once paid, no receipt left. (waiter (loose terminology for sure) kept all copies. 8.)And of course....."oh, our credit card machine broke" we only are taking cash.... Right. 9.)Music= Salsa then "my humps" then Glee cover of MC Hammers "cant touch this" Sets the mood for sure when viewing the sunrise..... Amateurs. Not a manager or adult in sight. Sincerely can't believe they're in business....

One of the worst meals I have ever had. Service was average but the cook is horrible. Sent multiple plates back for not being cooked right. Sides were cold and even the bartender cold not make a rum runner. If you are going to spend $30 dollars a head, their are 3 place across the street I would try first.

Only good thing is the view. Management horrible!! BEWARE they do not always honor groupon and living social even when you have a valid coupon. They make up their own rules.

Run away as quickly as you can! This place was by far the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The service was absolutely terrible, the waitress was rude and immature, and the food is very expensive and not very good. The idea of a beach side restaurant is the only thing that draws customers in this place, but you will sorely regret stepping foot here. Also, the restrooms were absolutely disgusting. You have to have a key to enter any of the 2 restrooms they have, and its very dirty and smelly. Anyways, myself and my boyfriend came here for dinner one night. This is our experience: We arrived somewhere between 7pm-8pm on a weekday. There were hardly any customers there, and although we were promptly seated, the server took a long time to come see us. Once she actually got there and took our orders, she rarely ever came by or even came within eyesight of my table or the table behind us (who were also very upset with the service and food). Our appetizer came with our meal, but not only that... the appetizer was freezing cold by the time it go to us. My food was actually pretty terrible, however, my boyfriend's dish was decent. We sat for nearly 45 minutes after receiving our dishes without ever seeing the waitress again. When we actually did see her, I asked for the check because we were eager to leave. Again, she took a really long time to get our checks to us, despite having hardly any customers in the cafe. When she came back, she said there was a mandatory 18% gratuity included. I asked her why this was, seeing that there were only 2 of us dining and the service was absurd. She became irate and told us that there was a sign in front of the restaurant that indicated it was included. I asked to speak with a manager to complain about several incidents that happened the entire time we were there. The waitress got upset and demanded we tell her what had happened, so i told her anyways. She got incredibly defensive and told us about all of her problems she had while working there. None of her excuses were valid as to why her service was terrible. She was extremely unprofessional and handled the matter in an immature way. I asked to speak to a manager once again. She brought the manager over and immediately began telling her the issues going on without letting us speak. The manager asked her several times to calm down and walk away. Eventually she finally did. The service was absolutely awful, and the food was subpar, but the manager i was finally able to speak to was a very sweet, soft spoken elderly woman who was very apologetic. She even explained that there was no gratuity included, and there is no sign in front of the restaurant, so i assumed the waitress just lied in order to get her tip. Although the manager was sweet and kind, she only said that she would speak to the waitress and try to handle the matter herself. Over the next several days, we went to a few restaurants nearby and noticed that same terrible waitress was still employed there, so I suppose not much was done about the situation. I wish I would have spoken to the couple behind us, but from what I gather, they were also furious with the entire restaurant and service as well.

Food was good, but our waitress is the reason we would not return here. Asked for lemons twice, never brought them....not a huge deal though. Wasn't too attentive overall. What the real problem for us was towards the end of our meal. We handed her our Groupon and instead of just saying "ok, great...i'll bring your check", she said "ok but you really need to give this at the beginning next time, its much easier. now it's twice as much work". (as she grabbed it and walked quickly inside, she didn't even try to say it pleasantly). ummm, ok. i had no idea, sorry! i would never tell that to a customer if i was a waitress, i'd just smile and take it! was it that huge of a deal to her? we were having a somewhat nice meal and then it ends with that. Next, she brings out the check. On the menu, it says "18% gratuity added to parties of ONE or more"...never saw that before at a restaurant, but whatever. we usually tip 20% anyway for great service. So we knew that from the get-go that tip would be included. She explains the check and writes down what she says is the "tip". as i started to calculate on my phone what 18% would really be (even though i would have tipped her 15%)...she quickly grabbed the card sitting on the table and rushed inside before i could say - wait! (since she calculated a larger tip than it should have been!) She calculated herself a 20% tip (instead of 18%), or essentially 18% off the total AFTER tax, which you don't do. I was so shocked. Who does that? By the time she came back after already running the card, I just wanted to leave. I was tempted to say something instead of letting her get away with it, but just left. We didn't want to risk a void charge on the card actually being charged twice for a new amount, etc. I thought that was a really classless move on her part. It's not a large difference in $, but it is the principle of the matter. Because of that - we will not go back.

I was warned to avoid this place, but the beach front ambiance suckered us in. One word sums up the service- CRAPPY! There is an "I don't care" attitude everywhere you turn in this place. $32 for breakfast for 2 (No mimosas) and these clowns want $2 per person to walk their pier afterwards??? I'm told by a trusted source that the entire city can't stand the owner and I can see why. For $32, I'll go to the O-B House in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale instead.

Beware!!!! This restaurant changes their prices. You order from the menu, when the bill comes the price is higher. They point to their menu that says prices are subject to change. Really.. this is FRAUD. There are a lot of other restaurant to chose from.

THANK YOU Anglin's!!! My husband and I had a wedding party there and were treated like royalty! We were in awe over the delicious (organic) food choices! The service was impeccable! We were absolutely honored by have our wedding celebration here! we and everyone else in attendance were amazed by not only the food and service, but the beach scene was the best! Anglin's Beach cafe, you made our night a prefect evening and we truly thank you! I will be happy to send over some pics to you:) We will be back!!!!!!! We are most appreciative to have experienced Anglin's!! Our event was March 30th :)

The bottom line. We went with a coupon we purchased through Living Social on Amazon. We showed the coupon to the server BEFORE we ordered and she said it was fine. When we got the bill the owner did not want to accept our coupon and we had to call the POLICE because he got in our face and said he would have us arrested.if we didn't pay the bill. He insisted the coupon was only good after 4:00, but the coupon said no such thing and when we showed him he said: "I don't care what the coupon says I say you can't use it" He was screaming at us at the top of his lungs. Needless to say we will NEVER go near this place again, and neither should you. The owner is rude his daughter who was the hostess is even ruder the calimari was tough, the coffe undrikable. and everything was WAY over priced. ARUBA'S across the street is such a fine place to eat. We will go there in the future.

I love this place. most things are organic which is a huge plus! amazing clam chowder in a bread bowl that's homemade. seriously loved it. also has shrimp cocktail, cheese burger and crab sliders. everything was delicious. it's on a fishing pier - we went fishing before and didn't catch a thing - fun night!

Great view. Location says it all for this place. I had the fish sandwich blackened and it was good. Pricing is average but your paying for the location for sure. I will go back for sure.

This place has an amazing location and potential! The menu is ok but pricey for the quality. The service isn't exactly up to par either. They do not tell you that credit/debit card purchases must be $25 (nor is it stated on the menu) and they have no suggestions for the nearest ATM. On the menu it does state "automatic gratuity of 18% for parties of 1 or more" lol. I do have to compliment the soft shell crab sliders!!! They are worth the visit regardless of the slacking service. These sliders are amazing and delicious and I don't know anywhere else that serves them. I did also order fried zucchini which we did not finish; very greasy and honestly just not very good. The coconut shrimp were ok, but did not match the price.

I read the poor reviews before eating here but we were craving breakfast and this place was one of the few open at noon for breakfast. Great view and the service was great. The server was so friendly and did a great job at refilling our beverages and bringing our food out fast. The food was very good. I had the eggs benedict and my fiance had eggs, bacon, sausage (he said the sausage was great) and pancakes. I really appreciated that the benedict came out HOT, especially since we were sitting outside and things tend to cool quickly. I usually order benedicts at restaurants and they're always just warm - so I appreciated how hot it was. The only thing we didn't like was the bathroom situation. We had to go get a key from the front desk each time we needed to use the restroom.

Nice place on the beach but that is all they have. Service was poor and food was average at best. To top it all off the iced tea glass that they serve is about one-half the height of a fork. After one free refill of the "shot size" glass of tea they charge 1.00 more per refill! Though there were very few people there (now I know why) the service was pitifully slow. Don't waste your money! You will find better food at a better price at a place that will give you free refills...NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

We first were seated at a table that spun around.... we finally found another table -When you sit outside the smell of urine from parking lot overwhelming- served ends of bread for breakfast- poured hot coffee to refill Iced coffee that tasted like grounds totally disappointing. Go to Arubas..... much better bet.

So... usually a place with this awesome of a location and total beach paradise views you wouldn't expect to have good food... but we were PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! OMG... you must try the crab cakes and organic salad, and their organic sangria was awesome too. We love that they have a really fresh and organic menu... we will be back next time we come to Florida! View = 5 stars Service = 4.5 stars Food = 6 stars!!!

Breakfast was decent, service was friendly and attentive. Got the bill, pulled out my credit card -- they advertise online they take Visa. Waitress: "We have a $25 minimum." Me: "That's fine, it will be $26 with tip." Waitress: "Well, it should be $25 before the tip." Search me how you are supposed to hit $25 on two $5 breakfasts. So, now I've got to walk back to my hotel in the 90 degree heat and find some cash. Here are some places that I would recommend disclosing a $25 minimum purchase requirement: - On your website, so I could have brought cash before arriving - On your menu, so I could have left without ordering, and gone to a neighboring restaurant with a reasonable credit card policy.

We've tried Anglin's several times because we really want to love it. It's a great location. But every time we've been disappointed. The service is always mediocre at best--usually service is slow, unfriendly, and just sort of unprofessional. I always have the feeling that they are new. The food is OK. I've never had anything terrible there, but nothing has been memorable. But what really bugs me about this place, though, is that they share a restroom with the pier, and it's locked. There you are, paying above-average prices for run-of-the-mill food because of the location, and you have to go searching around asking unfriendly people for a key to the bathroom like you're at a truck stop. But the last time we went, the bathroom was far more smelly and dirty than the worst truck stop restroom I've ever used. It was really disgusting. Maybe if it was a simple snack bar on the beach you might overlook it, but not with their "organic" menu and prices to match. We've given up on Anglin's.

One star for Location only. Can't beat the patio, but that's all it has to offer. We were very disappointed in the food, especially for how expensive it was. We currently have stomach aches and our wallets have a hole in them because the server got our order wrong and charged us for her error. I'm normally an optimistic person and walked away in a bad mood.

Have eaten here 2 or 3 times ( was almost scared off by some of the reviews) I think it's a really nice spot, the food has always been good..had the sea scallops one night..very fresh and tasty. Had a big Greek salad with gyro meat topping another night...also tasty Beautiful view, cheap parking and I save $4 pier charge every time. Staff really nice...some fellow New Englanders, and had a good chat with the owner tonight..nice guy.. I give it 4 stars for ambiance, food quality, and friendliness. Went back 11/24/12 had the scallops and calamari ...great food. Our server Alberta was very professional and efficient. Weather was cool and calm, sunset was amazing.

We loved this place! Our dinner was such a great experience. We enjoyed our Calamari and Mahi Dip app and then had the most delicious scallops in lemon butter sauce with rice/veggies and crab cakes with a salad! The music was very enjoyable and the weather was incredible as we sat near beach by candlelight enjoying ourselves. Our server was extremely helpful in choosing our dinner items. I would recommend this dining experience to all! Thanks for a great dinner and evening.

I went here because I had a Groupon and I like to find places on the beach for a nice "date night" with my husband. This is a tiny place, right on the entrance to the pier. In fact, if you eat there, you can go on the pier for free which is a nice little added value. I like that they offer organic salads and they have an organic Key Lime pie that they actually serve in a little souffle dish...save room for dessert! The Ocean's Rescue includes fresh fried shrimp and filet and the waitress made a point to let us know that the clam strips were frozen. That's fine...2 of our diners ordered it and cleaned their plates. They also offer organic wine that was really quite good. If you sit outside there is music but inside which is very small is quiet. I will go back.

I recently moved nearby, and was looking for a good place to get Sunday brunch. Anglins was the perfect location - right by the beach. I was greeted by a very friendly hostess (Victoria) and seated at a table with an amazing view. Although brunch had just ended, the waitress (Janet) was very accommodating, and I was able to get breakfast. The food was served quickly, hot and delicious! Only things that I think could improve is extending the hours of Sunday brunch and adding bottomless mimosas to the brunch menu. Overall, I had a great experience.

Wow, what a find. I would have never thought this place would be so good. I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich with a side order of sweet potato fries, which I must admit I am always a sucker for and this time was no exception. My date is a sucker for New England clam chowder and again she stuck with what she always craves. I suppose you can say we are creatures of habit. I was really surprised by how perfect my sandwich was made by the cook. It had perfect seasoning, thus making it one tasty, big sandwich. The sweet potato fries were homemade and serviceable. As for the clam chowder, I did not get to taste because by the time I looked up; it had been scarfed down by my date. So yes, the food is good, but the service is somewhat dry. The waitresses there always look miserable, however, I must say that they get the job done. What puts this place over the top is enjoying the ambiance. Sitting outside and enjoying the cool ocean breeze while enjoying the scenic view is incredible. If you do not want to wait on Aruba, want good food, and a great view; this place is for you.

Came for evening meal - Nina, knew her menu selections, but was very firm in not allowing substitutes. I ordered the grilled white fish special that came with a Greek salad, which I don't care for. Caesar? Nope, how about a nice side dinner salad? Nope - Greek or nothing. Ok, skip the salad. The fish was superb, came with baked potato fries that were perfect, and surprise, cole slaw! The white sangria was refreshing and the bikini key lime pie was good, but not worthy of the hype. But when Nina brought the check with 18% tacked on - for 2 people - that was too pushy. I asked that she run my card and let me determine the gratuity. She was ok with that, but an automatic 18% for so-so service? Nah, don't think so. There are other places just next door.

Went here for breakfast with my girlfriend and had one of the best omelets I have ever had. With a great view and excellent food, it was a good experience! It was expensive, but for the environment and great food, it was worth it! HIghly recommend!

I'd give this 3.5 stars, with the .5 being for using organic lettuce in their salads. I think its a good lunch option. I had an Athena salad, which was large and didn't have too much dressing on it. They also put a good amount of feta on it - not too much that it was overwhelming, but not a few measly pieces either. And they used romaine, not iceberg lettuce, which is a plus. The sweet potato fries were also good - they weren't greasy at all. I'd go here over Aruba because there isn't a wait and you get to sit closer to the ocean, which is why we are all here after all!

  • Marty B.

The two stars have nothing to do with culinary expertise or competent service. I'm giving one star for the location. The view is fabulous, especially for a morning breakfast (which is the only meal I have experienced here). The second star is for the service, but not for their abilities. It is for the laugh my wife and I get from how horrible they consistently are. Yes, we fully expect bad service when we go to Anglins. We have yet to be disappointed. Inattentive, morose, uninformative, disorganized.... are these ladies on prison work release? Good luck getting a refill on a soft drink or even ice water. This negative is further exacerbated by the fact that they serve beverages in 10 ounce water glasses. Your 6 ounces of liquid in there goes fast on a sunny, warm morning. You may think if you let the ice melt you will have a full 10 ounces to drink (Oh JOY!), but unless your beverage is water please don't try this. Soda is weak and minimally carbonated. It is bad before being diluted with icewater. I had coffee. We were sitting in one of the wooden booths along the north side of the cafe. A waitress other than the one serving us came up to the next (her) booth with two pots of coffee and gave refills to those three gentlemen. It's breakfast time, and she didn't even look at our table to see if anyone there might need coffee. I know we are not her table, but SHE IS RIGHT THERE WITH COFFEE! Cripes, even a Denny's waitress wanders aound til the pot is empty. And BTW, it had nothing to do with business. There were 4 waitresses on duty for a total of 5 tables. We finally got our breakfast after twenty minutes! Eggs and Bacon for my wife and I had the Monte Cristo. Three of the five tables were eating before we sat down! Twenty minutes? Our beverages had been empty for at least half that time, so when the food finally came we asked for refills and maybe some silverware too, please? She came back with drink refills and turned to leave. Uh, excuse me.... silverware? Rolled eyes and a "be right back". When we started eating, my wifes eggs were stone cold. Obviously her food took less time than mine to prepare and then got to sit and wait for my Monte Cristo. The food is not bad and not great. It's just breakfast. Hard to muck up, except I don't recommend their pancakes. Those are so tasteless, thick and doughy its like a giant bisquit that has been rolled flat with a rolling pin. So why do we continue to go there? Again, the view is great on a nice morning and we actually just sit back and giggle about how bad the service is. Are we masochists? Maybe. We like what we like, and we enjoy this comedy of errors. Our visitors from up north that we take there love the place. For the view, of course. We warn them ahead of time about the horrible service and mediocre food. We have wondered on a few occasions what lunch or dinner might be like. After reading all the negative reviews, we will stick to eating at Aruba for meals in that location. If Aruba had breakfast during the week, we would eat there for that. Prices are not very different at either place regardless of what some say. Heck, 2 eggs, meat and potatoes are $9 at Anglins. Not a value. But funny? Heck yeah!

Well, I returned to use my Groupon. I was told we couldn't use it the first time we went, on MLK day (holiday), although they said only Christmas and New Years were the days they wouldn't accept it. I knew better to try on Valentine's Day, and called to find out that President's Day is a holiday... although NONE of that info was on the Groupon deal. The waitress told me it was, but I checked again - nope, it wasn't. So, we decided to go on the day the deal expired. Last night. I must admit we were concerned that they would say the coupon expired that day, so we couldn't use it. After waiting about ten minutes to be seated (although there were tables open, both inside and out), a young, pleasant guy seats us. Tells us about specials, but doesn't mention prices being different than what's on the menu or anything about not using a credit card under $25. We told him about our Groupon, just to make sure we wouldn't have last minute issues... no problem, he said. So we really had no surprises this time, being that we already knew what to expect on some level. The gyro platter was really good (according to my husband), and I played it safe by getting fish (cod) and chips. The fish was fried almost like you'd expect a large fish stick... and then cut into six pieces. Each piece accounted for two bites, so it was really enough to eat but definitely a strange way to serve it. The cucumber dip was really good, although they give a LOT of it compared to the amount of pita bread you get with it. With all this said, I'm giving them two stars - because although the food was better than my first visit, their way of handling customers (seating/serving) and their ability to charge more than what is on their menu... it's not a restaurant I'll return to, and will sell my Groupon if anyone ever buys me one again for this place. Come to find out, the waiter who was very attentive, pleasant and courteous, it's his last week working there! I overheard him telling another patron that he had a lot of complaints about the price differences and the credit card limit being for bills over $25. Good luck to him in his next venture! One can only HOPE that this place reads these reviews and makes a drastic U-Turn. Their location is GREAT, but without a change, they're surely going to fail.

We are Arubas lunch regulars but I bought a Groupon for Anglin's to try something new. We went for lunch and failed to notice that the Groupon was only good for dinner. The $2.50 soft drinks arrived in 12 oz. glasses with about 3 ice cubes, far from the refreshing drinks beach goers are seeking. We were finished with our $12 smoked Mahi fish dip appetizer and starting on our entrees by the time we got place settings and refills. The gyro sandwich and Big Kahuna pizza we shared were nothing special. There was live music that was good. The guy seemed to do a good job of judging what the crowd wanted to hear. We probably won't go back. They aren't established like Arubas and didn't do anything to earn our loyalty or repeat business.

We eat here whenever we can. It's casual but right on the sand where you can see and hear the ocean waves. The swordfish medallions are my favorite, but everything we've tried has been excellent. Friendly staff too.

I bought a Groupon for Anglins and was really excited to go. My bf and I literally planned the whole day around it...lunch there then bring the cooler and chairs to the beach. It's a little out of the way for us so we wanted to make a day of it. So when we got there it was a little wait bc we didn't want to sit right in the sun but once we sat down it was great. There was a nice breeze so it wasn't too hot. Our waitress was friendly. We ordered the hummus to start (amazing!), then I got the lobster roll and the bf got a fish sandwich. When he asked what type of fish it was the waitress just said "its white fish. Very good. You won't regret it." Kind of astrange answer but whatever. It was good not great. The lobster roll was very good but very rich. Why only 3 stars then?? Well when we got the check I handed over my Groupon and she said they only accept it for dinner! I looked on the Groupon paper and yes it does say that in very small print so yes it was my fault but I am 100% positive it didn't say that online bc I know I wouldn't have bought it. So I was a little upset but just handed over my credit card. THEN she said "oh our credit card machines are down but we have an atm." That pissed me off a lot! So I was charge $5 from the atm. They should've warned us up front that they were only taking cash. So this all kind of ruined the dining experience for us and now we're forced to go back for dinner to use the Groupon.

We ate on the outdoor patio as we took our teacup pets. The waitress was a little over the top with the dogs and then had to show her pictures of her dog (and her pictures were also a little over the top). But she was very nice. Every time she talked about what to order or the bill, she would blurt out "for our groupn people". We went to that restaurant because we could take the dogs and it was nice to save some money as we were on vacation. The food was good. We had lobster and swordfish. We still spent a bit of money even with the groupon. I think it would be a great place for a casual lunch.

This place has such a wonderful location, perhaps that's why it costs $7 for a yogurt parfait. I'll admit the yogurt was good, but $7 seems a little steep. I feel they need to improve their pricing to survive, unless they intend on surviving off tourists year round.

I really can't give it a star. Place is horrible. Service, food, prices. Never again. Rude staff. They don't speak. Prices are ridiculous. go elsewhere!!

we had breakfast here this morning, can't beat the location... we sat inside as it was a chilly morning, the view was still fantastic... service was great, food was good - usual mix of pancakes and eggs... we did try the key lime pie, no good...

GREAT LOCATION! Competent service. Mussels in the mussels marinara where overcooked but the sauce was tasty. Fried calamari was crispy but the squid was really chewy and quite cardboard like. We sent it back. Crabcake was kind of pasty. It came with a very tasty salad. At $26 I expected more. Coconut shrimp was tasty, moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. It was served with sweet chili sauce. The clam chowder in the bread bowl was good. My dining companion had it. I am not a big fan of a bowl of creamy richness while sitting on the beach in 85 degree heat but it was nicely done and the bread bowl it came in was good quality. The beer selection is pretty paltry as is the selection of other alcoholic beverages. A final thought: I asked the waitress what they were known for, what are you good at? She said "seafood". Oddly, the positive comments on yelp seem to be about chicken and salads. The salad was really good.

I will give it 1 star because of the location. My wife and I went to have a nice lunch by the beach this last Tuesday. We have been to several of the other restaurants in that vicinity and all have been great. We decided to give Anglins Beach Cafe a shot. We were seated right away which was a plus. As far as the food, we started off with a smoked mahi dip with pita bread. I didn't mind the dip, but my wife thought it looked and tasted like it came out of a can. For entree's, I ordered the New England Lobster Roll and my wife ordered the Athena salad with shrimp (award winning supposedly...lol.) She asked for her dressing on the side. We received our food and my wife noticed that the salad had dressing on it so she told the waitress. The waitress took it and then came back with the same salad. She said it did not have dressing on it and it was from the feta cheese. The salad looked completely wilted almost soggy like it had been pre-made perhaps and had been sitting for quite some time. The shrimp on the salad tasted frozen and had an eggy taste to it...not appetizing. As far as the lobster roll, probably the worst lobster roll I've had in my life. There were a few chunks of lobster and the rest seemed like stringy after thoughts. When I eat a lobster roll, it should have big whole chunks of tail and claw. This was definitely not the case here. When our waitress came to clear our food, my wife told her that she did not like the salad at all as she had barely touched it. She replied, "Oh, I'm sorry" and walked away. After telling the waitress that she did not like the salad, I would think she would have called a manager over or have discounted our check. No such luck. When our check came, we paid it and left. We will never return or recommend this place to anyone.

What makes this place "special" is that it sits next to a pier in Pompano Beach. Other than that? The food is just average and so is the service. Tried it once, will not go back.

Came here with my boyfriend's family for lunch, and I ordered the lobster roll, which was really delicious. Most of his family, including my boyfriend, ordered the same thing, and everyone was really satisfied. Perfect location on the beach, and took in the surroundings. Only complaint would be the birds issue they have on the patio. The birds are pretty well-trained and are pretty aggressive about bugging the patrons to give them some food! Other than that minor issue, had a great time here.

We are regulars at The Village Pump, but they didn't take reservations. Because Anglins took reservations, we decided to brave the Friday night tourist crowd and took some family members who were visiting from up north. It was 6 pm. They were starting to get busy, but we got seated at our reserved table promptly. They only had 2 menus available, which was not a good sign. (we had a party of 6) Our waitress seemed to be overwhelmed, and the night was young. We all ordered entrees only, which arrived in various stages. Not wanting anything to get cold, we encouraged the 2 lucky family members who had gotten their food to go ahead and eat. By the time my salad arrived, half of them were already finished eating. Their food was mediocre....my poor Dad ordered fish & chips and wasn't sure if he was eating fish or chicken nuggets, the fries were still frozen inside, and my son's shrimp was soggy and tasted a bit like dish soap. We sat outside (which is lovely), but the table was VERY dark, which made the eating even less enjoyable. I chipped my tooth on an olive pit (who knew there were olives in it....couldn't see a thing" We were told afterward that the dark tables were because of the sea turtles. OK, forgiven. I do love those turtles but would recommend going only for breakfast.

Great pancakes!! And they serve breakfast pretty late (I think until 1pm). Organic options made this automatically more appealing to me than the surrounding cafés. Great location - right on the beach.

A fabulous view of the beach from the pier and nearby music from a Caribbean steeldrum band from another restaurant nearby, this is a super cool place to show up in your motorcycle lots of people watching but now for the good at this cafe located atop the pier - the fish sandwich recommended by our elderly and friendly waitress was edible but disapointedly came with a bag of Lays chips please try the Clam Chowder it is served inside a hollowed home baked bun. I had the Gyro salad very tasty the food was slow to come and the beer not ice cold the way I like it on a warm So Fla Sunday but overall a nice casual place to hit while taking a dip in the ocean-no public restrooms in the area

I loved coming here for breakfast, of all things! Usually I wanted to go to the beach early in the morning and this place serves up a decent breakfast. Not a huge selection of breakfast foods, cheap diner fare, but enough to quench anyones hunger. I just loved being able to have breakfast sitting by the sea!

Stopped here for breakfast on my way to the Miami airport. Food was just okay and service was good. Bill for two breakfasts with OJ was about 24 dollars. $30 minimum for credit cards but I can use their ATM and pay three dollars for the fee? Be sure to bring cash.

Horrible! I will not even write a long review as I refuse to give them any more time than they have already stolen from my life. They had one cook when they obviously needed a lot more, almost felt bad for the overwhelmed few people working there trying to service way too many tables, took hours to get our food and get out of there, my kids almost starved waiting for any kind of food. When it eventually slowly came out, it was average, and way overpriced. This place is not really a restaurant, but trying to be and failing miseably. Maybe they will figure things out some day and hire more people, and lower prices, but until then stay away!

This was the worst dining experience in my entire life. Never was I insulted in this manner before. The view is great, but there are a lot of lovely places with a beach view...so their view is not worth my precious time! Hostess is rude and immature! Rolled her eyes every time anyone asked her for a napkin, different table, bill...you name it. Miserable young girl. Servers are so overwhelmed, they run like chickens without heads...poor service. We had to wait for our dinner to arrive for an hour after we placed an order. It arrived in parts! Needless to say every time they brought our food it was somehow ruined. Pizza was burnt and glued to the tray, but we were told that is how it should be, since it is an oven pizza. They brought us another one...not any better I must say. But since we were hungry we just ate it. My salmon was overcooked...after waiting for the first ruined part of our dinner to be fixed, I was not in a mood to wait another 30 min for a substitution. I did not eat it, I let our server know, but nobody from management came up to apologize for ruined dinner. I did not even get my bill, just a final amount. I had to request it, where this "lovely"hostess, rolled her eyes and handed it to me. The numbers were faded, there was no ink in a printer, so I could not see prices for items we ordered. So they offered me to get behind the register and look it for myself. WOW! That was IT! I lost it there! I asked to speak to the manager. He came over and asked what was the matter. After my brief explanation he said "Sorry" . He was churl, unprofessional and very abrupt. I have no idea how in the world these people run this place! I asked is this how they treat their customers, the answer I received was "Yeah, why?" Nobody deserves to be treated this way ! I wonder how would he feel if he was insulted like this as a customer. I wonder how would this hostess feel if somebody dumped popcorn over her head in a movie theater and rolled their eyes. I guarantee you these people who have no manners whatsoever did not feel any bit of wrong doing. Why as a customer I should be insulted for the money I brought for them, for the support I gave their business. DO NOT SUPPORT RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESSES. THERE A LOT OF GREAT PLACES WHO DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS, WHO WANT YOU AS A CUSTOMER, WHO WILL TREAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU AS A HUMAN BEING.

Well, they kind of give you what they want I guess with no up front warning, I got a Barbeque chicken with Steak fries with meltled cheese and bacon. Well I got a chicken Sandwich with curley fryes, BIG diference. It was ordered from the dinner section. My 4 year old son got Chicken fingers and chips, He said what are chips I said they call French fries chips sometimes, Well not this time I got my son Chicken fingers and a bag of Potato chips for Dinner. They are nice enough there but hugh details are left out, It's like they really don't care what the Menu says they just change it to what they feel like buying I guess. I Would go somehwere else for sure as it is not a good value for the quality of food they are surving.

We arrived this evening shortly after and were asked if we wanted inside or out. We selected out and were taken to our table that was one of the two tables closest to the beach. Great view, small band playing Caribbean style music, very nice. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was good. We asked to order two more glasses of wine and immediately after the server delivered the wine she left our check. Nothing like "Would you like dessert?". "Will that be all?". hmmm..... We paid and about halfway through the glass of wine a man (we heard him called Spiro)came to our table and said "We have a reservation for this table so you will have to leave! I was flabbergasted! We were told we could finish our wine over by the Tiki bar (we could stand there)! BTW- The table next to us was apparently told likewise as they left in quite a hurry and were clearly not happy. It should be noted that we paid $10 to park in their lot not even a full hour before we received the "boot". Are you kidding me? I don't care how nice the view I will NEVER go there again!...I'm going back to Aruba's where I could spend HOURS (and have) and not be kicked out.

My husband and I went here last night to use our Living Social Deal. We eat out quite often and I was in the restaurant business for 26 years - this place has got to have THE WORST SERVICE we have ever experienced!!!! First, there was a line waiting to be seated. No one ever came around to even acknowledge us or inform us approximately how long the wait would be. It was a beautiful night though so we really didn't mind waiting. However, once they started seating people BEHIND us in line I started to get a little aggravated. I agree with the other reviewer who said that the wait staff acted annoyed to be busy. I watched as they cleaned tables and didn't seat anyone new!! At one time there were 4 empty tables with a line of about 30 people waiting to be seated. They finally started seating people and asked us if we minded sharing a table with another couple. We didn't mind and we sat with a very nice older couple from Colorado. My husband & I shared the clam chowder in the bread bowl which was delicious and the soft shell crab sliders which were also very good. The other couple ordered the crab sliders as well. The food came & the waitress plopped it down in front of us and we never saw her again until she brought the check. First of all, we weren't ready for the check knowing that we hadn't used up our entire $50 deal (surprising since this place is entirely OVERPRICED!!), secondly, don't you usually ask the customer if they would like anything else before you bring the check? But why would they ask that if they didn't even ask if everything was okay during our meal? Also, she put the check in front of me (which was fine but it is usually customary to put it in front of the man) and the check was for all four of us - the other couple that we were sharing the table with! No big deal but when we told the waitress she gave it to another woman who said, "oh yeah, they're not together" and took the check and separated it (acting annoyed - even though it was her fault for sitting us like this and not telling the waitress) and then came back with 2 separate checks and just threw them down - no apology or anything. I looked over our bill closer than usual knowing that they had no idea what they were doing and I noticed they charged us $10 for our 2 beers and $7 for my wine (I looked at the menu because like I thought it said $4 for domestic beer and $6.50 for a glass of wine. I asked the waitress about this and she said, "oh yeah, the menu is changing, ALL beers are $5 and the wine is $7 and continued to name a few other things from the menu, that we didn't order so I didn't care, that were different prices than stated on the menu. Like I said, I was in the restaurant business for 26 years and I felt like saying YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!!!!!! but I just dropped it. Our bill was $41 at this point and our Living Social deal was for $50 so my husband said, since our bill is only $41 can I have another beer? and she huffed and puffed and got a beer and slammed it down in front of my husband. To top it all off, the other couple put a credit card on their bill and the waitress said, "oh, we don't except charge cards for bills under $25." Well the man got very angy and I don't blame him! She too mentioned the ATM machine and he just threw some cash down and they left. We were still finishing up when the waitress came over, counted the other couple's money and said, "WOW, BIG TIPPERS!" and stormed off!!! Maybe he left all the cash he had planning on using his credit card?! I was always told in the restaurant business that YOU NEVER discuss tips in front of other customers. Oh, an by the way, these workers were not kids that didn't know any better - they were middle-aged woman who should know better!!! Anyway, we left a below average tip ourselves reflecting the service and the all around incompetence of the staff. The food was very good but ENTIRELY OVERPRICED & we will never be back!! The staff can ruin a nice meal which they did!! I have a feeling that these employees that were "annoyed" by all the customers won't have that problem anymore now that the Groupon and Living Social Deals are over!! Going by the other reviews, I'm sure they won't have too many repeat customers!!! RIP Anglins!!

If I could give zero stars I would. STAY AWAY. Overpriced, extremely unfriendly and unprofessional staff. Beginning at the door, both hostess and waitress seemed annoyed, rather than pleased, to have customers. Waitress immediately informed us that we would have to pay in cash anything over the value of our $50 livingsocial coupon. She had no clue of specials, could not describe Basa fish other than 'White fish from S. America" (which it is not), served a half-full watered-down glass of coke and never offered another sip, delivered meals 20 minutes apart (thank God my husband and I shared the meal) and messed up our second order (salad instead of potatoes) and instead of apologizing, just said, "Oh, but the salad is good, isn't it?" I was shocked. I waitressed for 3 years at one of the top restaurants in New England. Generally, the higher the prices, the better the service. This did not apply to Anglin's Café. Lobster roll was loaded with mayo, crab cakes tasted like Phillips, only the salad was any good. Oh, the water tasted OK. They should be investigated for false advertisement and price gouging. I read several reviews about the price on the bill being higher than the price on the menu. She actually told us that the menu prices 'had gone up' and that most items on the menu were $2 or $3 more than the marked price. This is illegal! If prices have changed, WRITE IT ON THE MENU! The written price, whether in a restaurant or on a piece of merchandise, is THE PRICE. My husband and I have enjoyed using our Living Social coupons to try out new (to us) restaurants in the area, from Hollywood to Boca. We have had many fine meals, and often have returned to the restaurant without the coupon. This was a total disappointment.

This place is Definitely not worth stopping at. Foremost the "Cafe" is far over-priced for plain and unelaborate food, all of which bordered on average. I found little on the menu that seemed interesting or exciting so I tried a New England Roll, sounded nice but was nothing more then cold Lobster-salad on a piece of toasted bread, I'm still debating whether it was actually lobster or rather just crab, regardless it was very small for the $16 and was no more compelling to the palate then a grilled cheese sandwich. I had also ordered an appetizer (a trio type of platter of fried seafood) All of it was quite soggy and saturated with grease by the time it arrived...WITH THE MEAL, excuse me its an "APPETIZER" people! That was the servers' first mistake. I'm guessing are still mastering the "Fine Art" of deep frying, this however is the least of their worries. Midway thought the meal the server inaudibly and vaguely explained a shift change or something of the sorts and puts the $150 check on the table under the bottle of wine we ordered, REALLY!!! as we are eating and in conversation!!!! They showed little sense of what proper service for a pricey dinner on a pier should be. I left utterly disappointed with both my meal and my experience. The prices are simply unjustifiable for food as unchallenging as fried fish, hot dogs, sandwiches, and pasta dishes. My suggestion is go to Village Grill or 101 Oceans just a few steps away get far better food, far superior service , and much more value. You will be quite happy you took my advice!

I was out enjoying a beautiful day in Ft Lauderdale. We wanted to sit outside for lunch as it was sunny and warm, we headed to our favorite spot and the wait was 30 minutes, but across the street is the fishing pier and Anglins Cafe, having never been there we thought lets give it a try. We had a nice table outside in the sun overlooking the Atlantic. I ordered the Blackend Fish Sandwich (when I asked what the daily CATCH was, all the server would say is that it was grouper family. What does that mean? She refused to tell me the actual fish name. Should have left at this point.) My friend ordered the fish and seasalt chips roll. Sounded interesting fish and chips New England style in a roll. We each had a Corona, asked for water 2x's, it never came. The food came quickly, the mystery fish sandwich looked ok, but not a $12 sandwich. The fish and chips roll, had NO roll. It was 3 or 4 fish fingers with a bag of Lays potato chips, not even sea salt variety. The manager came around to ask if everything OK, well I said no it wasn't, I inquired about the roll and he said, "oh it is not on a roll, we made an error on the menu"!! I said well it certainly is not what he ordered and the a bag of Lays chip you must be kidding for $11. He made no apology and left, I thought for sure that it would be removed from the bill, but when the check came it was there $38 for a terrible lunch. I went inside and spoke to him again as I payed, I told him word of mouth is everything in this business and this is why you have empty tables and the 3 restaurants around you are on a wait list of a half hour at lunch. NEVER GO HERE!!! IT IS TERRIBLE AND RUDE OWNER!

Save your time! Save your money! About only thing going for this place is the location! GREAT LOCATION! monday evening, 11/12/12, veterans day observance (real holiday was yesterday) went here and attempted to use groupon and was told that groupon not accepted bc it was holiday. Nothing on discount mentions veterans day, though july 4th, labor day, and tgiving were specifically excluded. Had previously discount which got refunded as when I called to ask questions, owner accused me of fraudulently making discount coupon. Aside from that, walked up to restaurant tonight and stood at host stand. Server looked @ me and my friend and we finally said we are here for dinner. Hardly busy at all, ordered appetizers, came quickly. Organic it may be (lettuce is about only organic item here), calamari appetizer heavily fried and weird tasted as in old grease. Good bread bowl clam chowder---highlight of evening! Asked rather nice male serve twice to refill water and iced-tea. 15 minutes before he finally brought refill #1. After finishing apps, server asked "do you need anything." We said yes we would like to order dinner. clueless! Fried chicken was mediocre at best. SERVICE HERE FRANLY SUCKS! Normally I would just not go somewhere again though nice to warn others to spend there money elsewhere. OCEAN 101 OR ARUBA MUCH BETTER CHOICES! bill came, showing $52 and some change. Provided credit card and amazingly itemized receipt disappeared and the bill upon return was almost $55. Asked server for copy of itemized receipt and he said "the credit card was already rung in and he couldnt access copy of itemized receipt." SHADY! SHADY! SHADY! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, OTHER THAN FOR THE VIEW!

I am writing this review for the benefit of the owner and the customers of this cafe. We moved here a year ago from Northern California. We have lived in the states for 33 years, but still have northern European accents. Anglins Beach Cafe soon became our favorite spot due to the location. The reason we don't come anymore is because of the terrible service we have had. We have always been very good tippers. We never tip less than 20%. At this Cafe, if you have an accent they add the tip to your bill. We asked the waitress once, why do you add the tip for two people. Her response was " I only make two dollars an hour and I want to make sure i get the tip I deserve . The Canadians and the Europeans don't tip well, therefore we add the tip" . We felt totally discriminated against. I also asked if my dogs could get some water and the waitress response was " We are not allowed to give out filtered water for dogs" After I told her, how disappointed I was in the service they provided, she finally gave us water for the dogs. The servers we have encountered at the Cafe seams like they rather be some other place, but there. I have never written a bad review before. I love the location of this place and would love to come back and get good service.

So the Mrs bought a Groupon for this place and tells me that it expires today. Not to let a deal fly by, we make a special trip up to Anglin's for dinner. It is 65 degrees on this Monday night so obviously looking to sit inside. Much to our demise, the three tables were occupied and one by someone on a laptop. Lucky enough one of the patrons see the Mrs shivering and settle their tab and leave. I come to realize that the hostess??? Wait hostess?? There are 3 tables inside, but anyways...people start asking her if she could let another couple sit there and she smugly replies that this table has a 7pm reservation. I shrug, but ok. We order crab cakes and the lobster roll...it becomes blatantly obvious that the food is not the star here and it's about eating on the pier. Been here over an hour for dinner and princess is still sitting at this 'reserved' table on the laptop on Facebook...is this a 2 hour hold for the table? Food is frozen, reheated and served. The inside is cluttered with junk but had no issues with our waiter as previous comments would suggest. Cost of the meal was $55, left hungry and walked over to 101 Ocean for more food. I won't be back and I honestly can't see how this place exists with much better, cheaper options a stone throw away.

The location and view are great. There was live music during dinner and the Stephanie seafood dish in white sauce was phenomenal! You are able to walk down the pier after dinner as well. Can be very cramped for space if they are busy, but, you are literally oceanfront!!!

    * great location directly at the beach/pier * very obliging, friendly staff * very tasteful, fresh & healthy (organic) food * atmospheric live-music * we felt most welcome both times we were there (dec 30 and 31), thanks!!

Ducked in with sweet Joni to talk bikinis and Bimini and YouTube. I run Amplification, Inc. She runs Pango Pango Swimwear. So--setting sun, nice breeze, and Brie was our bartender. Life is good. We had $8.50 well drinks, we had Shrimp Avocado dip for $12. Yeah, that's a real thing and it's DELISH! This place rocks because it is on the pier and makes for outstanding people watching. Staring at the ocean doesn't suck, either. Be adivsed: the place is small, the service is slow, and all seating is outdoors. You are at the BEACH after all. :-) Cabeza OUT!

Meh! Our experience eating here started off with good service and a beautiful sunset however as the night went on, things took a turn. A few people overindulged on the alcohol and were causing a scene. One of them harassing diners that were sitting outside closest to the bar...yaaaay! I happened to be one of those tables. This was awkward but still relatively okay until he started knocking down drinks and stealing a tip from an older waitress. Meanwhile other waiters- including my own were laughing and hanging around the tables to see what would happen next instead of getting control of the situation and calling their manager, etc... The overindulger and his drunkard friend; an older lady and a regular at this establishment were cursing at each other and causing a scene making things very uncomfortable for everyone else yet no one would kick them out or take control. This to me was a huge disappointment. I was expecting the staff to take a little more responsibility and react in a more mature and professional manner. At the very end, closing time...hours after this whole scene was playing out, the manager asked the older lady who frequents the place to never bring the younger guy to this establishment again and kicked the guy out. Truth be told, they both should've been kicked out and the two tables dining al fresco that were affected deserved an apology but whatever...it's how they run this and why their reviews are so shabby. For the record...key lime pie tasted like soap and what could have been a nice, relaxing outing turned into an eventful and stressful evening.

This is one of these conundrums of ratings. The food and setting is at least 4 stars. The food was super fresh, with large portions. Drinks were slightly above average. The spot at the end of the road on the beach is awesome. However... The service is mockable. Ridiculously slow and disorganized with no indication when you're sitting there of how to solve either problem. We'll probably try them again when we're in the mood for some sand in our toes, mostly to see if the service improves. If it doesn't, we won't make any extended efforts. All in all, an average of 3 stars.

My first visit to this cafe and I was so disappointed. Brad (who claimed to be the manager) was the worst waiter I have ever had! Very Rude! It was obvious he just didn't care...but why would he... For 2 people they automatically charge 20% gratuity. When I complained about the service he laughed and said "welcome to Florida". Brad is Rude, arrogant, and simply could care less about customer service. Even the family of 5 next to us were complaining about his attitude. Just blocks from apartment, but I will never go back there. Sad because the clam chowder was great!

I have no one to blame but myself. I just couldn't believe a restaurant could get so many bad reviews I had to find out for myself. Everything you read negative about this place is true. Just nasty to say the least. The worst restaurant I've ever been to. They depend on tourists, so they never get any repeat customers. Rolaids instead of dinner mints.

I don't know why so many bad reviews, our food was fantastic! A nice outdoor restaurant that was recently renovated, overlooking beautiful LBS beach! The pita was warm and so yummy, and we both had the Athena salad-mine with a large portion of grilled shrimp cooked perfectly and hubby had gyro meat with his--it was seared just the right amount, very tasty and no fat at all. Their house dressing was also fresh: comes in salad but we asked for it on the side. Bonus is that the food is organic! I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back!

When you think food on the beach, you may be looking for a few different things. Possibly something with drinks for a rowdy bunch, possibly something with beer flowing and a loud steel drum or cover band show. Those options are great sometimes, but I like Anglins for other things it does well, namely a relaxing vibe. It is right on the beach, that is, it is right on the pier. Wether day or night the romantic ambiance is permeable. The crowd is a mix of tourists and locals. The local half of the crowd is people who aren't looking for the karaoke cover band scene of Aruba's next door. Aruba's isn't my kinda place, but if your looking for the 1st 2 types of beach food I listed, Aruba's will take care of you. Anyhow on to the food! I have had a few different dishes here. The food has been pretty good. The coconut shrimp isn't the best I have had, but OK( I would recommend JB's in Deerfield for that). There are plenty of other good seafood and Americana options on the menu as well. undoubtedly the food is over priced, and the drinks even more so. But any location this nice right on the beach is going to cost more. Its an expensive trade off but worth it if a classy option is what you are looking for. I did see one bad review based on the fact that they don't have straws. Possibly the dumbest reason I have seen to give a bad review. They don't carry straws to help the beach enviroment. See, just Ask!

There was two pieces of meat in my gyro. WTH! Service is nice and friendly but I'm torn by the terrible food!

Just got a Beach Punch. Was pretty watered down, couldn't taste any alcohol. Plus they were $10 a pop. The only saving grace was that it was right on the water with a great view.

I didnt eat here but i can't wait to go back to try the food! I had the organic margarita and it was delightful!! Fresh and unlike your traditional margarita which i loved... Cant beat the location... Right on the pier with great beach views and nice music!!

I have come here the times for breakfast. I really like it. It is an outdoor cafe on the pier wirth ocean view. Clean with good service. The food is fresh. I got the eggs with a fruit salad instead of potatoes and the fruit salad was great. ($3 up charge though). Omelet w fresh spinach and mushrooms was great. Even their coffee is very good. They have full service bar which I have not sampled yet but all the drinks look awesome. Mimosas bloody Mary's and large selection of beer. Staff are nice. Bathroom situation not optimal -u have to ask someone for a key and once was out of order.

Ok so this place doesn't have straws? They don't even stock them, is that the weirdest thing you have ever heard of for a BAR? A bar by the beach? It's a million dollar view, very tiny place so seating is limited, and no straws. I ordered their special sandwich with the scooped out sourdough bread, it was like a pita pocket, stuffed with wholesome goodness...very tasty. My friend ordered fish on a Greek salad and absolutely hated her choice (good thing it was her suggestion to go here). The view is amazing, the service is meh, did I mention they don't have straws?

The service is horrible and verging on criminal. The food made my stomach upset and I went to use the restroom (which is only one for women and one for men) with my sister. As I was wrapping up and washing my hand someone knocked on the door loud and hard...as if there was a fire or something. We said yes and next thing we know this employee is using his key to open the door. My sister had to rush to keep the door from opening. A few seconds earlier and he would have exposed all my intimates to the restaurant. Not to mention this was the same employee that told us we had to get a key to use the restroom a few minutes earlier. I've never been so disrespected in my life. As a paying customer I should be able to use the restroom peacefully. It's not my fault the food did not agree with my stomach. This was the second bad service incident we experienced with this place during the same visit. Obviously ownership or leadership condones this behavior and treatment of paying customers and therefore this is a place I would NEVER recommend and NEVER come back to. In fact I'll go out of my way to ensure that no one I know ever comes here.

Located right on the beach - You come here for the magnificent views of the beach, service is slow, but usually pleasant. The cafe is adjacent to the Pier, it was renovated not too long ago, it's small but there is a very nice wooden deck right on top of the beach sand with several tables, high-tops and a recently added bar - all outside overseeing the gorgeous beach. They normally have live music playing classic tunes from Island Music to American classics. I tried several items on the menu, the burger, chicken sandwich and Hummus were pretty good, actually I must say surprisingly good for such a touristy place. Since they are right ON the beach the city doesn't allow them to carry straws as they may get on the beach, I wish most cities enforced rules like this about Styrofoam and cigarettes! but don't get me started on that....the reason I mention it is that if you are a straw-lover like myself when having a cocktail, bring your own and just let them know that you will make sure it is disposed of properly ;-)

Absolutely amazing. I'm not a conch fritter person. I shared some here with a friend and they were yum. The crab cake sliders were equally as good. But the lobster roll was the best I've ever had. This is a great chill spot, directly on the beach. I will definitely be back soon.

The shack-looking restaurant is located at the edge of the beach. Restrooms are for customers only. There is a small bar. Outdoor seating only. I had the french toast with fresh strawberries. They served a large portion, and it was delicious. The zucchini fries are also great. It comes with a yogurt-like dip. The hummus with pita bread and sweet potato waffle fries are also good. My friends ordered the lobster roll and mermaid salad, and they enjoyed that as well. We ordered pina coladas, but they weren't that great. It was more alcohol than anything. I couldn't taste the coconut or pineapple. That's a personal preference. I've had better. You can't beat the view of the beach from where you're dining! They use organic ingredients for their dishes.

We used to go here often for breakfast but then realized we only liked it for the tables on the pier side. I've gotten sick the past few times I've eaten there for both breakfast & lunch. The portion size is generous but the food is just ehhh. Price is okay too. I don't mind paying more for good food, but this is northern case here. Each time I go thinking it will be better and each time I realize that's it's more hype than anything. The service is okay. Some severs are better than others as with any restaurant but the wait time for seating & food is always long. I may go again in 9 months and be reminded why I don't usually go as often any more. I gave 2 stars because of the atmosphere & location.

  • Dan S.

The service and food were disappointing. The drinks were overpriced. The only redeeming quality of this place was the live music. There was an old music man playing all kinds of eclectic tunes and singing his ass off. He must play at Anglin's often, because I saw a picture of him on the yelp profile. This restaurant is a one star joint. The extra star is for you, music man, keep on doing what you're doing!

I crave the Mermaid Salad- so good! Clam chowder in the bread bowl so tasty. Never had a bad meal here and the location is as close to dining on the beach as it gets in Lauderdale by the Sea since Sandy Shoes (miss that place :()

We don't know what happened to this café. My husband and I eat breakfast there once a week for the past year. The food was always good, the tall blonde guy that served us was always pleasant and quick. Now everything has changed. The service does not exist unless you eat on the pier with the nice lady serving you. The quality of food has changed. I am not sure if they are still using organic or not but today my husband and I both had a stomach problems before we left the restaurant. We have recommended this restaurant to so many people but we will not do that any more. Its such a shame when a good restaurant goes Bad.

All of the fish is frozen. Rediculous considering they're on the ocean. The food is not good, with the exception of the blackened fish sandwich- that was mediocre. The waiter was nice, but in the end, save your money for an authentic seafood restaurant. You expect fresh seafood when your on a coast, but not this place!

I'm conflicted. I only went here once with a large group of family members for breakfast. I'm Belizean and so are most of my family, thus we look racially ambiguous. Our server was rude -- when my sister asked what sort of cheese they had for the omelets, he replied, "We've got the white one or the yellow one." My sister speaks proper English with hardly any accent (and even if she didn't, it didn't give him the right to speak to her that way). His tone was condescending, like he was trying to explain a concept to a child. On the upside, our omelets were delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh. The orange juice in particular was wonderfully natural. The last bit of trouble we had with the place came when we got the bill. We wanted to split the bill in three parts. Our server completely refused. When I asked him why, he never answered and instead insisted that he can't do it. It was aggravating. I might retry this place with my boyfriend for the fresh ingredients. Mayyyybe. I've yet to see.

Location is awesome, as you're literally on the beach overlooking the waves crashing. But everything else is just sort of meh and it's way overpriced! Food is decent--crab cake eggs benedict for brunch tasted nice, but $29?! And a tiny glass of fresh squeezed OJ for $9?! We also went for drinks when a friend was in town and was so disappointed by our $15 cocktails served in plastic cups ("organic" orange margarita was definitely not fresh squeezed juice). If our water was served in glasses why wouldn't out cocktails? Strange and disappointing.

Started off our weekend get away with a little breakfast at this cute little joint, right on the water! Food was great! Bloody Mary's were amazing, although the service was a little slow! Our waitress was very friendly and did it all- from waiting on ALL the tables to making ALL the drinks at the bar herself! It seemed as if she was the only responsible one who showed up to work! (It wasn't her fault, she was busting her butt to service everyone!) We did wait a little while for our drinks and all but we're on vacation so we just enjoyed the beautiful weather and ocean front view!

High end prices, low end food. Over cooked pasta, shrimp and white fish. Appetizers forgotten. When we complained about the meal waitress said she'd tell the "chef". No meal replacement or reflection in check. Would not return. Ever.

Food is great! Location is good. Parking is a NIGHTMARE! and the food is very over priced!!!

  • Laura H.

Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was pretty good, but very expensive. Our kids got virgin Pina coladas that were $5 each and our tropical drinks were $10 each. Everyone with me got jumbo fried shrimp for $24 each, and they were good. I got the pan seared Mahi and it was better than the shrimp. The seats outside were very uncomfortable. I saw a poor old man struggling to get in and out of them. It was a nice view but it was very windy so they had to put the plastic shades down so the sand wouldn't fly into our food. We were able to use our receipt to get onto the pier for free, which is normally $2 per person for sightseeing or $7 for fishing. The pier was nice. We walked around the area afterwards and it was very lively. There are a lot of ice cream parlors around. We won't return to this particular restaurant.

The main reason to come here is for the lovely beachside and ocean view. Anglin's Café is sort of divided up into three distinct sections. There is on the pier dining, small section located on the north side of the pier that I think offers the best views, a small inside air condition area which is more like a diner and a patio located just off the pier. I've been coming here for year and have always enjoyed it. I'm also happy to say that over those years it has improved greatly from what was merely a diner type of place generally catering to the pier fisherman but has now evolved more into a café/restaurant catering to a tourist clientele. The good is average/good; nothing to rave or write about, sort of Three Stars, but the views and setting are Five Stars. The breakfast menu is diner typical with most of the area restaurants doing a little bit better job of it, but those serving breakfast don't have the views. They've started to get somewhat classy for dinner sort of up scaling their menu with veal chops, lobster, scallops &etc., all of which I have had but have found to be very basic in preparation and though low in price also low in quality and flavor. With 3 Star food and Five Star views, I'm averaging Anglin's Café at Four Stars.

This place sucks... I had to tell the waiter to bring us UTENSILS... It's outside. TONIGHT ITS WINDY AND WE CANY EVEN ENJOY OUR MEAL CAUSE OF THE WINF AND WE CANT EVEM SEE.... NO LIGHT CANT SEE MENU. HAD TO USE MY OWN FLASHLIGHT ON MY PHONE. Not a place for big groups. Food is over priced... Ravioli lobster thing 24 and the waiter told me side comes with it. Salad's mashed or fries. Then 5 minutes later comes back and said computer only says that just to get rid of the order... I was so pissed I said just bring the damn thing. I get my clam chowder in a bread bowl and my bread bowl was burnt top notch side. Like WTF... Lobster Ravioli 24 bucks and they only give u 5 and it tasted like crab meat not lobster. I came here only because my step dad gave me a 50 coupon and let me tell u. This place ain't worth crap. This place needs a wake up call...

The food is not worth it here. Much better food for better prices could be had at Aruba across the walkway. The mojito I ordered was made with regular water (where it's usually made with club soda) and cost me double the most expensive premium drink on the menu, the salad was bland and the chicken was gooey. Our drinks either came in small, actual glass containers that could not hold more than 8 oz., large mismatching plastic goblets, or (in the case of my friend) water was server in a clear plastic cup. Needless to say I didn't tip. I was then cornered after coming off the pier to be asked why I didn't tip. I had to squeeze between 3 waitresses to actually leave the pier, which is incredibly rude. I was then denied a manager when I asked for one, being told "No, we're closed." I will never eat here again and if I could give it less than 1 star, I would.

We planned on have dinner here tonight when we arrived we where Rudely greeted by a server who said they are Closed and it wasn't 10pm yet. She said they close when there no Business. When the hours of operation is open until 10pm. So we went across the way to Aruba's. And was seated right away by a friendly Hostess..

Great fish & chips!!! Portion size was large, and there was plenty of Cod. Cooked well, leaving the fish crispy, just the way it should be....

  • Buck R.

First off.... the straw issue: Since they are literally on the beach, straws are considered a danger to the local wildlife i.e. Birds and what not. So they aren't even allow to stock them. (So they say, I have no idea, i just overheard a waiter explaining it to someone.) So I got a beer and an omelet, ran me $17.50. Not horrible for an affluent area and being right on the beach BUT..... The omelet tasted great but for $13 it and the hash browns were pretty small portions. Toss in another egg or lower the price. Service was impressive, it's a really cramped set up out on the patio and the servers moved in & out the kitchen with ease and were always polite & upbeat. The Bartender recommended a great option (the afore mentioned omelet. ) The crowd on the weekend seems to be mostly local families out for brunch... lots of strollers and tiny people running around. The $2 to walk down the pier is the real reason I won't be going back.... just seems like a silly thing.

Food is fine yet not excellent. Mahi-Mahi entree was overpriced at $28 for a small portion of fish. Yesterday it also felt as if they were under-staffed as it took a long time to get my order and the one bartender while very nice and friendly was overwhelmed with the amount of drinks she had to prepare. Will be back though as the view is amazing and they also have great live music.

An Aruba's regular, myself, my husband and parents went to Anglin's Beach Cafe instead. My parents had been there the weekend before and my dad had been raving about the preztel beach burger. Before I even get to the food, I want to say, the view itself is worth going for. A 360 degree shot of the beach in every direction plus the island beach music even makes us locals feel like we're on vacation. Happy to see an assortment of unique craft beers, we started off with Flat Tire's. I say this because unless you're at a restaraunt specializing in crafts, they aren't that common. We started off our meal with the shrimp avocado dip. I have to say, probably one of the best I've had, but for a table of four, it was very small. For $12, we would have liked to have more than a few bites each. For lunch, I had the fish of the day (white fish) blackened, my husband and dad both had the pretzel beach burger and my mom had her signature seafood salad. I can honestly say, it was one of the better fish sandwiches I've had, and they are my favorite. It was perfectly seasoned with enough kick in each bite to remind me of an island fish sandwich I had in the Keys. I would have liked a different side besides chips as my dad and husband got sweet potato fries with theirs that I wound up eating most of. (They were amazing!) My mom enjoyed her salad remarking on the impressive amount of shrimp. We were much too full for dessert, but stayed and hung out for a while just to enjoy the scenery. Our server was great and didn't mind that we camped. All in all, I am happy we chose Anglin's and would definitely go back.

  • Michael J.

Pier food anywhere is a compromise. Anglin's does a good job but it's about atmosphere and not just the food or service here. Breakfast is your sure-bet but they get a little stressed at lunch and dinner. It isn't overpriced because if their prices were lower you would never get in. We are locals and familiar with all the servers. It is usually HOT, the kitchen is tiny, and it's not really designed for the amount of traffic. They are all friendly people but it is a difficult environment. They do their best. Seating is good though and the breezy deck is the perfect place for a bloody Mary before choosing from a surprisingly good breakfast menu. You want to be in flip flops and comfortable clothes because it is all outside. Don't expect the food to be the focus of your time here and you will really appreciate it's charm.

This looked very nice had a local dj. BUT the service was the worst I ever had. Dennys was better service that here. Our server was more concerned about his phone and face book than his job. My wife and I sat at a table had 4 well drinks ..$.42.00 I was shocked. The drinks I could of made in the ally bar..BUYER BE AWARE...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

This place is seriously over rated. The food was ordinary and over priced. Had no taste to it at all. I ordered the Salmon. mashed potatoes and vegetables ($25.00). Others in my party had Swordfish with a Greek Salad ($24.00) and Crab Cakes with rice and vegetables ($25.00). Not one of the three in the party were impressed. When you add in the cost of an appetizer (which was some bland calamari) and two alcoholic beverages ($12 each) and our bill was still approximately $75 ---WITH A $50 Groupon!! It would have been worth it if the food was tasty. The staff were rude and inattentive. I laughed when the waitress indicated they did not provide straws. I was given room temperature water with already melted ice. We were left without refills for a majority of our visit. The only thing this place has as a selling point is the view of the beach. However, it is right ON THE entrance to the pier so you get a whole slew of people with fishing rods and coolers pushing to make their way through awaiting guests for this restuarant. There is occassional entertainment which makes this place either tolerable or really annoingly abnoxious.

  • Elle O.

The view is great, but the food is awesome. We wandered in for breakfast and were shocked (in a great way) to have organic eggs in our omelet, ultra fresh and delicious fruit, and great service! We ended up returning for lunch because the place next door was too crowded and had the best lunch we've had in 5 days in Florida. We had the pan seared scallops on a Greek salad and fabulous guacamole with homemade Pitas. Park a few blocks down in the municipal lot.

Decent place. Average I would say. Drinks are a little bit too expensive, but I guess you compensate the price with the view. Our bartender Liz was really nice and friendly. They have a very wide selection of beers. I had a beer and my wife had the white sangria. I had to say I was very disappointed of the sangria my wife said it was ok I wasn't really happy about it and for 9 dollars I was expecting a little bit more. Anyways good place to grab a drink and have a conversation. I might go back I don't know yet. Also it says they close at eight. However, they just a bar outdoor so no they close at ten during the week.

Not as bad as the reviews. Lovely open air view where you can talk and hear each other compared to Arubas across the way that has mediocre talent overriding any conversation. Had the yogurt cucumber pita, made fresh and likely to beat any heat stroke when paired with mojito.

OK, I've given this place 3 chances & that's all they get!! We went back due to the location & the lobster roll was pretty good. BUT the bartender was down right offensive! Not only was he rude, but after recommending crab cakes to us, when we said we didn't want them & wanted pizza, this bartender (Matt) refused to serve us! We had drinks, then when my friend asked him what happened to make him become so rude, his answer was "you offended me"! Also, there was a man seated next to us, and this same bartender took his drink away from him. When the man asked for it back, the bartender said "first you need to apologize"! Evidently the bartender doesn't know that he is in the customer service business. I hope the owner knows that this guy is turning away business. They also have an awful problem with the restroom situation. They seem to back up a lot & the smell drifts into the dining area! I will agree with Jennifer R's review on the service "verging on criminal!"

Great omelettes! Breakfast is pretty good here with a nice view of the beach and pier. Service was fairly good and the food didn't take too long either. You go here for the view and the omelettes. Have your coffee at home and save yourself the $3 disappointment :)

Decent bar food. Server wasnt the overly positive. Kill you with kindness type. But i liked it, was just a chill dude. Got the avo pretzel burger, was a little pricey but tasted good. We all drank the beach punch which was refreshing in the heat.

Why don't you serve grey goose/kettle/stoli vodka?? No top shelf liquor whatsoever. U guys are killing me!! Great location, Matt the bar tender is my fav but seriously, start serving some good liquor and get some straws for your frozen drinks so that I don't have to walk to Arubas for a silly straw. This place must be mismanaged. I just don't understand what the owners r thinking. They could do such a better job here.

Now I had read reviews but came off the pier and decided to sit for a drink. Especially nice waitress (Fran) attentive and relaxed. Restaurant not busy. Lots of servers. Mojito fair but costs $10. Very good large shrimp and sauted vegetables with rice. $17 Just cooked in a little too much butter. Really enjoyed the breeze and view. Felt very relaxed. wasnt pressured for time and had a very good experience.

Don't get the Groupon! Food is not a value for prices. After checking other menus of restaurants within arms length, I know we could have done much better. My receipt's prices were more than the original menu prices. Fish and Chips on menu $12, my receipt $16. Stephanie Seafood on menu $24, my receipt $27. Waitress tacked on 19% gratuity as a "Groupon" thing. Manager has not returned my calls. Waitress says he is "out of town." Not worth the view! Unless you have extra money to throw away, stay awaaay! Had to pay for parking. After a closer look at my receipt, I know I've been had!! Sodas come in plastic disposal cups I would not use at home. If I could rate is zero stars, I would. Fool me once....

The view is perfect. Right on the beach- on the fishing pier. We shared a few good appetizers and drinks. There was live music as well which set the mood just right for sunset. Once we were full, we paid our bill and then walked down the fishing pier. Very nice, love this place.

The view is what makes this place so awesome. The food is average and drinks are average but there is not another place that Literally has a restaurant on the pier thats casual like this. Me and a friend came for breakfast. Both had mimosas which were good. She got the eggs Benedict and I got an omelet with feta and spinach. The eggs were organic which is pretty awesome. Food wasn't bad. Wasn't amazing either. Definitely a place to check out but don't have high expectations for the food.

The view is wonderful. Whenever we are in LBTS we HAVE to go have breakfast at Anglin's Pier. Come prepared because there is always a wait, but it's worth it. Dinner is ok, and can be loud during the tourist season. Groupon has a great coupon. Hummus is good. The breakfast are a bit more pricy than other places, but relax, enjoy the sunrise and enjoy yourself.

Terrible service. The specialty of the house appears to be ignoring customers. In two visits, about a year apart, we had the same experience. The first time, it was so outrageous it became a joke amongst nearby tables. The sequel wasn't quite so theatrical, just bad. They automatically add 18% to the check to pay for the uncaring service. So maybe paying servers by tipping isn't as silly a custom as seems. The lobster roll was good. Other items were OK.

Absolute shit. Excuse my language. Our waiter was extremely impolite and uninviting and had as seated after 10 minutes. He asked if we were having lunch in a rude way and threw the menus on the table. We left promptly only paying for the drinks we ordered (which were shabby). Our table was quickly filled by another party by the SAME waiter. Who, by the way, didn't even try to get us to come back. Awful. Awful.

Apart from being taken to the cleaners for "valet" parking where you self park for $10 I liked the place. Yes it's a little pricy menu wise but the quality of the food was very good and I had a great server. I will go back but look for different parking options.

DO NOT EAT HERE!! Seriously, go to any other place in the area. This is seriously the worst dining experience I have ever had. After ordering our food we waited about 30 minutes. I asked the waitress to check on our food and about 5 minutes later she came out with my food. I waited a few minutes for everyone elses food to come out but when I realized it wasn't I decided to just start eating. Every few minutes or so another dish came out. I was done with my food before 2 people in our party even received their food. I noticed the same thing at other tables around us - it seems to be the norm there which is ridiculous. Now onto the food. My toast wasn't toasted. My 2 friends had poached eggs that were way overdone. I ordered a side of bacon that didn't come out until about 20 minutes after I got my meal. Most of the people in my group didn't finish their food because it was so bad. Don't ask for a straw because they don't carry straws. Are you FU*&ING serious? Don't order the bloody mary's because for $8.25 it tastes like absolute crap. Are you getting the picture? Read all the other reviews here - this place is HORRIBLE. The only reason they are still in business is because people wander up there because the view is nice (I'm looking at you Morgan) This place only gets one star because there is no lower option.

A beautifully renovated spot that is a landmark in Liquordale by the Sea. Outdoor patio seating with a seabreeze and sunshine makes this a must see and eat spot. I was here a few weeks back on a break from our bike ride and enjoyed a few Shock Tops and a Sophia Special Stuffed Sandwich. Just enough for two, this almost vegetarian plate was fresh and oh-so-tasty. The fresh baked sourdough bread was amazing and stuffed with chicken, cucumbers, onions, mixed greens, and a light flavorful house dressing. The first bite made me moan in delight. Lots to try on this menu ... check it out here anglinsbeachcafe.com/men… . Bookmark this spot and make it a day of it!

Been to this place twice. The food and drinks are a little on the pricey side, which I don't mind if the food is really top quality and delicious and the service is on point. My first experience, the food was good. The hummus and the clam roll are both exceptional. The service was pretty good once we got a waiter. On my 2nd visit I brought three 13 year old girls. We were never greeted so we sat ourselves at an open table and it took a bit of time to get service. However, the waitress that finally helped us was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the lobster roll and it was very fishy. It came with cole slaw which had a piece of plastic in it. I told the waitress about the plastic in the cole slaw. She apologized and said she would "tell them" but nothing else came of it. I thought it was an odd response and expected that a manger would have at least offered an apology or another side or a discount. Also odd and kind of rude, was that while the three 12 year olds were looking over the menus another waitress came over and asked if she could have one of their menus. Before anyone even answered she took a menu out of one their hands. Don't think I'll go back.

I was in the area with a friend looking for a place to have a bite to eat for lunch, and we decided upon this place because of the view and the menu looked pretty appealing. As soon as we sat down, we realized why it wasn't packed. The servers were very slow and not too courteous, and the food ( a burger and a pizza) took about 25-30 minutes to get to us. The burger itself was very bland, no flavor whatsoever, and the pizza was average at best. After waiting around another 20 minutes for our check, another couple sat down at the table in front of us, and after being ignored by any servers for 20+ minutes and hearing our ranting about the place, they decided to leave as well. In the end, the food was also overpriced for the quality of it, and ensured us that we would not return to eat here. Overall, my experience from a restaurant standpoint here was deserving of 1 star, but the only saving grace that saves this place from getting 1 star is because the view is phenomenal, especially from the tables outside on the pier.

I should have checked yelp before going here. It ended up being an expensive mistake. We only had frozen drinks... They were awful and over priced. There was no detectable alcohol in our drinks. We actually thought they confused our drinks with the kids virgin versions. As someone else indicated, they don't have any straws. They give you a spoon in order to drink your frozen "Drink". The presentation was downright embarrassing. These drinks were in a plastic cup with a lemon on top. Not exactly a tropical treat! There was a good inch and a half of empty at the top of the glass. Who serves a drink that isn't full? The waitress couldn't have been any slower. We gave her our credit card so we could leave and she was seen wandering around aimlessly for the next 20 minutes before returning. Most of the bars in LBTS are pricey but at least they give you something for your money. Tourist Trap!! You have been warned.

Delicious coconut shrimp and the drinks are reasonable! Perfect beach front setting and service is great. Refreshing after a nice walk on the beach. Giving 4 stars because of the over infestation of pigeons, not something the local can control, but it was uncomfortable to have the pigeons around my feet.

Location, location, location. This is an awesome outdoor cafe right on the ocean in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. The view for lunch was amazing - you are 5 feet from the pier, about 1 foot from the sand and maybe 100 yards to the ocean. The food was decent but a little overpriced but, you are paying for the view and the location - I'm sure rent ain't cheap over here. Service was a little quirky. First they told one of our group of 5 that they don't have a bathroom because -they told us shortly after they realized their mistake - that they thought we were non-customers walking up from the beach - even though we were all dressed in business casual attire (dress shirts, khaki's, etc)...huh? It's not like we sauntered up in flip flops and shorts all sandy asking to use the bathroom. Anyway, they apologized and they have a small bathroom you have to get a key to unlock like you're at the gas station LOL. They had a dude playing guitar and singing beach tunes off to the side - nice, chill ambiance. On their menu they claim to use organic veggies and to be "eco-friendly"...not sure if that's true or to justify their prices. Entrees range from around $8 for a chicken sandwich, $10-$12 for a salad, $13 for a fish sandwich (blackened whitefish), $14 for shrimp scampi pizza and they have some entrees that are more towards the $20 range. They say on the menu that "18% gratuity for parties of more than 1" LOL and we asked them if that was a joke and the waitress said, "actually no, I thought it was when I first started here but lots of European tourists come here and they don't tip". Still, you might as well just say it's included on all checks instead of on "parties of more than 1" which is ridiculous, but somewhat understandable. Put yourself in the server's position and imagine getting stiffed on a $100-$200 bill with no tip, although 18% is excessive. Food was decent to above-average. Nothing outstanding but nothing bad either. Again - you come here for the view. I actually prefer it to Aruba next door which is even more overpriced for mediocre food and pretentious/disinterested servers, but it has the same great view and location next to the Pier. Another plus and a reason why I might go for happy hour next time (besides the view) - they have craft beers Monk in the Trunk, Palm Ale and Peak Organic. They also have Mykkos and a lot of Greek items on the menu, so the owners must be Greek. Last thing we didn't know - if you park at the lot next to the restaurant and get your parking validated for eating there - it's only $2, which is a bargain over the valet at Aruba, parking meters around the corner or the $10 cash lot nearby. I'll be back and glad I found this place!

I had a Monte Cristo, it was not good and neither were the hash browns. The orange juice on the other hand was fresh and awesome. The location is pretty nice also. I also like the fact that several of the entrees are organic, maybe they all are? Not sure.

We almost ate here but decided not to after the hostess was really rude and bitchy when we walked up just to have a look, it was like we were inconviencing her even being there. Apparently no love there if you have an alternative look. It's a shame too, it has a great craft and import brew selection and a stellar oceanview. My advice? Hire friendly staff that does not turn off potential customers. If I had a choice I would give this place no stars.

I have only been to Anglin's once, but I plan to never go again. In the short version, the wait staff was rude and not doing their job, the menu was misleading, the food was not that great...especially for the crazy prices they charge. And then the long version....My mom and I went out after moving me into my new apartment (this was my first day in Fort Lauderdale). We found Anglin's because of it's beach location and so we thought we'd try it. From the beginning, it was bad and it just got worse. The hostess could've cared less about us...she just led us around like no one was there. We sat on the patio for the view, not knowing that bugs and birds were quickly waiting to attack. The restaurant was almost empty and yet it took almost 15 minutes to get any drinks. The iced tea my mom ordered was in the smallest glass I'd seen (probably 6-8 oz) and it was so filled with ice that she could only drink 4 gulps before it was empty and she only got one more refill before they charged her another $2 something! CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! It took another 15-20 min for our waitress to come back to ask about ordering or offer refills. (We were one of her two tables...both outside next to each other) At this time, both of our glasses were empty and we had been ready to order for a long time. By the time the food came it had been an hour and the restaurant was still empty. The food (clam chowder, fried fish, french fries, calamari) was nothing to brag about. It was fine....just fine. However, had I been told how long it would take or how much it would cost before I sat down, I would've never ordered a thing. Also, I have been a tourist to many places...enjoyed many outdoor dining experiences. Never have I ever had such a problem with bugs or birds. There was a constant attack by big black flies or birds. No one did anything about it. Obviously, you can't control everything about nature, but I think there are precautions you can take so that guests don't feel like they're protecting their food for an hour. As this review suggests, it took the waitress another long while to offer to bring our check, but this was after a few pleas to get dessert....no way Jose! We were ready to get out of there. My mom and I both agreed that no view was worth the experience. Due to the location, I would suggest that this restaurant get a better, more passionate and enthusiastic staff who knows what they're doing. I would also suggest either making the food worth the high prices or being honest about the price of the food. I think it'd be better to lower prices and offer a great experience so that people would like to leave good tips!!!!! Sadly, I feel like Anglin's is a waste of a great beach location that could be home to a family-friendly, tourist-friendly demographic.

As locals, my husband and I come to the pier a lot for breakfast and dinner. The food is always great there and you can't beat the view! However, don't come here if you are hungry. The service is horrible and SLOW. No customer service at all. My husband and I were recently there for dinner and we had ordered an appetizer which was the yogurt cucumber dip (which is delicious by the way). About 25 minutes after we put in our order I asked the server if she could please check on the appetizer. Considering it is not something that needs to be cooked, I figured it would be out somewhat fast. Instead of saying she would check, she raised her voice at me and told me that when the food was ready it would be in the window of the kitchen. I politely told her that I am just asking if she could check on the appetizer and again she told me that when it was ready she would bring it. I was appalled and apparently so was the bus boy because he looked at me like he could not believe her and mouthed to me I'll go check for you. I wish I had gotten the name of the bus boy because he was great. He was constantly checking on us and making sure we were ok. Keep in mind that the table that had ordered their food and drinks after us got all of their food before us. The waitress was so rude about checking on our food that I don't know if I will go running back. I have highly recommended the pier to many people but after that I am not so sure I will be doing so until the servers have some better training. If you must go though, the mussels are great as well as the pizzas and cucumber yogurt dip. Just don't expect good service.

The whole experience at Anglins was strange. We were told there was a 15-20 minute wait for a table though we were literally looking at four empty tables. When asked, the hostess had no explanation why we had to wait. After 15 minutes, a family behind us got tired of waiting and tried to just sit down. Finally, the hostess sat us. The hostess gave us 1 menu, said she was coming back with another and never did. After 10-15 minutes a waitress finally appeared and asked if we'd been helped- she informed us the waitresses often fight over who gets what table, so she wanted to be sure we were her table. We eventually got our drinks after another 10-15 minutes, and our order was finally taken. The crab sliders we wanted were out for the night, though it was early. We got the fish and chips, which were average- it was 5 very small pieces of fish (not your typical fish- literally little 2 inch squares) with fries for $14. The coconut shrimp appetizer we shared was the only thing worth eating again. The clam chowder was average, the key lime pie was runny for some reason, and the baklava tasted like raisins which is very strange. After our meal, the waitress said she'd bring us a ticket to show the parking attendant to get the discounted price. However, she never returned, and when we tracked her down, she said she never said that and we just show our receipt. Again, strange. The view was nice, however we sat at a table with a great water view before realizing how cold it was as the wind continued picking up. The restaurant isn't equipped for chilly nights- no heaters, or anything to put up to block the wind. The music outside is also far too loud- we were sitting near the speakers, and could hardly talk to each other. Overall, with coconut shrimp and a view being the only thing going for this place, this is southern florida- I guarantee you can find both somewhere else.

We had dinner here on a Monday evening around 7:30. The wait for a seat was about 35 minutes, so we took a stroll on the pier. You usually have to pay $2 per person to access the pier, but since we were waiting for a table the guy was nice enough to let us pass. The table was ready early. They were only seating inside due to the chilly weather and extreme wind. Very warm and cozy once inside. We started out with oysters on the half shell, which were fresh and actually better than I expected. For the main course my wife had a fish salad which she absolutley loved. The greens were fresh field greens with an excellent house dressing. The fish was whitefish, blackened perfectly. The portion size was large. I had the swordfish special, blackened as well. The swordfish was cooked perfectly without being dried out. You could also tell that it was very fresh due to its texture. Reading the poor reviews on Yelp was alarming, but it was not our experience at all. The wait staff was very very friendly and accommodating to everyone in the restaurant as far as I could see. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the restrooms. They were small and needed to be cleaned/painted/remodeled. They work in a pinch, but for the money you are paying for food you expect a decent bathroom.

So I was pretty sceptical about this place after reading all the reviews on Yelp. I had purchased a Groupon and didn't really do much research other than looking at the menu before making the purchase. A friend and I went to Anglins last Saturday night, and while they had several customers it wasn't abunduntly busy as it was a chilly, breezy night and all the tables are outside on the water. We were greeted by a pleasant young lady at the door and escorted to a table closest to the ocean. You are truly ON THE WATER. While it was beautiful it was uncomfortably cold. When we asked if we could move to a table that was behind the building to help block the wind, not only were we accommodated but we were given a better table than we had selected even though it was for a larger party. Our server was pleasant, attentive and well informed on the menu items. The food was good. Nothing to write home about but tasty. I had the sea scallops in a lemon butter sauce over rice pilaf and my friend had the shrimp kabobs. We started with the chowder which I found above average and the coconut shrimp appetizer which was fine. The restaurant would benefit from additional lighting near the water so customers can better appreciate the atmosphere and the excellent proximity to the ocean. In addition, though they won't be needed often, heaters would also be nice for cooler windy nights. It wasn't event that cold (70) but the wind was so intense it was unbelievably uncomfortable. While I wouldn't likely visit again for the cuisine, I would for the view, the cocktails and the live music. (Think Jimmy Buffet meets James Taylor) Over all this is a great place for atmosphere and beach front dinning. While the food is indeed over-priced the scene is well worth it.
