Drive through. 4:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. I'm headed to Orlando for the weekend and I need protein for lunch. I've not eaten all day. I pull in, and there's a line nearly half way around the building. No Bueno. When it's finally my turn, I order a #17, which is a triple stack. Only tomato and Pickle, extra extra pickles. And a diet coke. The food is fine, the fries are cold, but no worries, I don't eat them any way, but the Diet? It isn't. it's their lame attempt at a "cherry" coke. Sorry folks who got the wrong soda. I know I was disappointed too.

Went for breakfast got into line at the drive thru at 915am. Order two breakfast combos the sausage egg cheese biscuit and the breakfast bacon slider combo.there was one car in front of me. I literally waited 40 minutes in my car for the food to come out. I was so angry I almost left but had already paid. I will never come here again. I know not to expect fast drive thru here but 40 minutes. Ridiculous. On to the food. Hash browns were very good for fast foot hash browns. The sliders were not tasty bland and dry. The sausage egg and cheese biscuit was excellent. Shame I won't go back though to have it again.

Horrible! Where do I start??? I needed a late night snack after getting off the plane for 7 hours and choose to eat here. What a effin mistake!!! I ordered chicken tenders with seasoned fries and a lemonade with no ice. She got the whole order completely wrong and I noticed it once I drove off I was so mad. Don't eat here the fries were cold and stale, the lemonade taste like water.

Horrible. Repeated our order 4 times when all we ordered was a #19 and a frisco melt. That's it. Then gave us the wrong total at the window. THEN we were asked to pull up to the curb to wait for our food. 22 minutes waiting on TWO items. No apology for the wait. Food wasn't even hot. Late Sunday evening and we were the only people in the drive thru - just doesn't make any sense. Stay away.

Don't know why but today Steak & Shake is horrible ... I was finished with my meal before my husband got his burger (they brought wrong order twice) nod neither of us got our shakes until after HIS meal arrived. My shake was milk, no spoon needed straw wouldn't stand up. Spoke to mgr didn't help much except did get hubby's burger. Couple at next table didn't get their order until after my husband insisted the waiter take care of them and then both their orders were wrong. They didn't dare send back they were too hungry. I'd wait for the marquee to say "new mgmt" before hitting north Florida Ave S & S.

This place has amazing food the service is just really slow. I haven't tried the breakfast yet but I've herd good things. Only thing I must say.... The fries suck! I like thick cut fries, not skinny thin ones.

My family and I are traveling down to Orlando and started to crave the deliciousness that is Steak and Shake. So, we checked into our hotel and made the very short walk down to the restaurant for take out. We ordered 3 shakes and 2 burgers, not a huge order considering there were large groups there. Although there were some large groups of 7, there were hardly any other costumers. Our burgers were delivered to us first, hot and fresh only 10 minutes after we ordered. Our shakes, however, took an extra 20 minutes to get out. I understand that shakes take longer, however, 30 minutes is an insane amount of time to wait for 3 shakes when there were tables walking in, getting served shakes having just ordered them. I suppose take out orders aren't rushed, but when you have a full staff and little to no people in the dining area, I expect my food to arrive a bit faster. Disappointed and I'm not sure we will be stopping here again.

My father said he enjoyed steak and shake so we decided to hit the one in Lakeland. Stood by the 'please wait to be seated sign' for over 5 minutes with a couple of older couples ahead of us. No one acknowledged us but people were working, albeit EXTREMELY slowly. Seems like very poor management. We ask two people at the register if anyone was going to help. They ignored us We left. Went to Moes which was much better

I'm from Massachusetts and therefore did not have the pleasure of visiting a Steak N Shake before, and I have to say that I am in love with this place and I now wish there was one near my house back in Massachusetts! The fries were interesting because they're skinny and small, the orange shake I got was absolutely amazing and the steak they use in the burgers was delicious!

The Jersey Review. Me being from Philadelphia Pennsylvania it's typically hard to find any place that reminds me of home in any way. I can honestly say I've found such a place in Lakeland Florida. This place has the same crap service that Jersey is typical for but it's not crap service in a bad way. It's more nostalgic than anything else. Good and a very cheap price and my server named Jess totally rocked adding to the Jersey experience here in Lakeland 1,100 miles from home. Give it a try, you won't regret it. I'll be back to this place for sure...

I've been to many steak and shakes and this to me was the most disappointing. I'm sure they were having a holiday rush, but working in the food business you have to have some energy to hustle and notice where work is needed. When we walked in, half the tables were full and the other half were all dirty tables. When people come in, that's when they take the time to clean the table. The servers didn't seem stressed, which is good, but it may also explain why the table tops were not cleaned. No one was rude either. It's unfortunate to see the restaurant so messy and I hope that's not how it is typically. I think there's a lot of room for improvement at this store and hope they take on that opportunity. My brother ordered the jalapeño chicken sandwich which was juicy and really good he stated. I had the chili three way which was okay but the presentation could have been better.

First visit, Lunch, family of 4. Waitress was friendly and took our order without having to use a pad. Place wasn't crowded and our food came promptly, fries thin & bland, greasy burgers ok, however the 4 shakes took an extra 20 minutes to arrive and we reminded the apologetic waitress 2x that we're still waiting for the shakes. The shakes were not good, very little flavor, way too thick that you had to eat them with a spoon and if you closed your eyes, you couldn't tell what flavor you had, also one chocolate shake had vanilla ice cream in the bottom, wouldn't return, glad we had a coupon to use, otherwise this would have gotten 1 stars, also table was dirty when we sat down!

Went there on Saturday afternoon around 130 pm. The place was packed and had to wait about 15 minutes to get seated. My party wanted shakes with their meal and they were thin like milk and super sweet, nothing like we remembered from past visits. Food was mediocre. Will be a long time before we go back.

Other two I was with didn't like their burgers (too greasy and thin) or their shakes (didn't taste like there was any ice cream in it and hardly any flavor) I would come back for the taco salad but would be cautious trying their burgers. Can't beat the prices on a lot of menu items. Place should be called Taco Salad n Fries because that's what was good

After 50 years of eating at Steak "n Shake I should have listened to my guests as the last 3 times they have been to this location the service was slow.........well last night I said let's give them a chance. BIG MISTAKE!, we arrived 815p and was promptly seated. A little slow to start however is went slower and slower and slower from there. The servers seemed perturbed with how slow the line was cooking. MANY tickets hanging in the window yet, no sense of urgency from the line. They were not overly busy and the line was mess. I feel for the severs as it was easy to tell they wanted to provide good service but the line was keeping them down. I wont even go into requesting a visit from the Manager that never happened until checking out at nearly 10pm or bringing our milk shakes (requested to go) before our food even arrived.Yea, she discounted the meal but would have gladly paid full price for a "fast causal" meal....I guess my closest Steak & Shake will not be visited by me or the 6 guests I had with me again.

Put in our shake order as soon as we sat down. Decided on what we were going to eat and ordered food. Waited and food arrived first. We finished our food, which was fine, and waited and waited and waited for our shakes. 30 minutes after we were done eating, shakes finally arrived. An hour and a half dining experience that I wish we could get back. Waitress apologized, and had the manager speak with us. We got an even less sincere apology from him and a horrible attitude as well. Will not go back, and informed them as such. They didn't appear to care at all.

well another disappointment from S n S! i spoke with the day manager at SNS to get the phone number for the corporate office & after explaining what horrible service & waitress we had she apologized & offered if we came back that day that she would "comp" our meals. at that time i declined because we were still upset from the night before but she finally gave me the GMs phone #. To make a long story short...Tim (GM) PROMISED to send comp meals via mail and has totally NOT done a thing! poor leadership, poor management, so now my mission is to go back over there & get the corporate headquarters number off the door.

It's Steak and Shake. You know what you came here for, and it wasn't the decorum, or the exquisite culinary cuisine. You came to get fat, and fat you shall get! I'm a big fan of the Frisco Melt, with chili cheese fries, and a red velvet shake. Service is what it is, the food is heart clogging and good. In the realm of grease they're good for a chain.

I adore this chain, but unfortunately, I received the worst service of my life at this particular location! My husband and I went in about 10:45 on a Saturday morning. We were traveling and just stopped in for a quick bite! HAHAHA! We waited 45 minutes and never received our food!!! We only saw our waitress when she took our order and delivered our drinks. We finally just had to leave because we were in a hurry and both so very angry. When we spoke to the manager all he could say was he was sorry and that the kitchen was backed up!! Absolutely ridiculous! We should have been offered some kind of coupon or comp for a future visit at the very least. Diner beware of this location!!!!
