Woah, I love this place!!! Also they deliver with takeouthero.com ! I eat this on all special occasions! Monte Cristo is super awesome, make sure you get jam with it! It makes great left overs, never goes to waste at my house. There cozy restaurant is family friendly and has classic dishes that make you feel like you are eating at grandmas house! If you have special request they do whatever they can to accommodate.

I stopped in here for some lunch while visiting downtown Lakeland on a recommendation from a shop owner. Waitress was friendly and polite. I decided on a pork loin sandwich with thick cut bacon, caramelized onions, ham, mustard, mayo and House made BBQ sauce (so the waitress told me). It was served open face so I left it that way and used my fork and knife. Over all it was pretty tasty, I would have liked more BBQ sauce and making a caramelized onion mayo would have put it over the top I think. It was served with a side, I had soup of the day which was Potato and Bacon, I found it under seasoned but not bad. Overall a decent meal that uses fresh local ingredients. Check in for daily specials!

The food here is outstanding. Everything is fresh and homemade. The chef is particularly good at creating interesting and extremely flavorful food combinations. The bread is fresh baked and outstanding. You should definitely try their version of eggs Benedict, which is available through lunch. The eggplant rolottini melts in your mouth. The cheese and fruit tray is huge--enough for 4 people as an appetizer or as a meal for one. This is a new restaurant and I'm sure they will build up a huge clientele before too long.

Love this restaurant! They put memorable touches such as fried green tomatoes on a lot of classic dishes. Definitely a place to try! I've only had positive experiences with Mahan's and look forward to many more brunches here!

GET A SIDE OF BACON... the chef cuts his own thick bacon and it is served perfectly crispy. Fried green tomato benedict won't disappoint even though it has no meat, but then again, isn't everything better with bacon

The service was good. Onion soup was good. I made the mistake of ordering the gumbo. It didn't have a ton of flavor. Wasn't a huge fan of the sausage or shrimp they used. I should have gone with the breakfast menu. Their breakfast looks really good.

Price was a little expensive for what you get. My meal came with potatoes which consisted of a 1/4 cup of sliced potatoes. Food was a touch on the greasy side. Overall flavor was, however, delightful. Our waitress was kind and efficient. Some of the staff seemed to think the curtain they were behind was sound proof... Taste 2 stars, friendly staff 1 star, minus a star for price vs portion/greasiness and minus 1 star for the not so sound proof curtain.

One of the best breakfasts I've had in recent memory. Cool atmosphere with good music. Amazing French toast was complimented with fresh sides from a local farmer's market. Can't wait to come back.

Originally a movie theatre, the Mahan's Eatery building has a front and back room (that slopes). The chef is the former chef at Fresco's. The sign inside says "Foreign Domestic Food" and seems to be a breakfast all-day American food with a Euro-twist type place. There were lots of "help" or family members wandering the restaurant aisles during the dining experience but not contributing to restaurant support (that I found distracting). I chose unsweet tea with a hint of cinnamon and clove. It was barely a hint (I'd have liked more) but scares off others according to the waitress. They offer Pepsi products and lemonade with option to add raspberry or peach syrup. They boast no freezers, everything fresh. I chose chicken noodle soup & grilled cheese with tomato and bacon, $6.25. Though I felt it took a long long time (over 20 minutes) for a special to arrive in a non-crowded restaurant it was worth the wait. The soup was perfectly seasoned (NOT salty!), nicely hot, noodles melted in my mouth (not made in-house). The grilled cheese held two kinds of melted cheese on a heavily buttered toasted multigrain bread with a thin slice of tomato and bacon. It truly was decadent. I loved that the bacon nor tomato shined in this sandwich. It was lovely. (though I must note the stomach after-effects would probably put it in the TOO greasy category and my tongue curled with very salty tastes well into the evening). 4/2015. A really disappointing visit. Did not enjoy the "Pork Love" sloppy sandwich-- the bread was far too big and crusty and the meat all fell out the bottom on the first bite. Bacon, pork and ham had little flavor-tho the dressings on the bread were nice. (Note says their meats are marinated in tea?) Got the unique veggie hash--chickpeas, kale, tomato, mushroom sauté- but it suffered from extreme salt. Don't like the help seating customers with a baby on their hip. Don't like the misspellings like "avacado". (& thanks for the discreet removal of the giant palmetto roach crawling around the tables in the front area!) I dropped review from 4 to 2 stars and feel no need to return.

Had lunch there today via Takeout Hero. I ordered the grilled chicken salad. It had mix greens, juicy delicious tomatoes, good size pieces of cucumber, whole olives, avocado, and the best pieces of bacon! Wow, the bacon stole the show! Think pieces of yummy bacon. Ranch dressing was good too. My only complaint is that the girlies chicken seemed like it came out of a package and maybe tossed in seasoning...very salty and not good. That's why it is off of my salad in the picture. I was hoping and expecting actual real grilled chicken not something out of a package. On to the Fried Green Tomatoes. They were good! For $2 you get 3 which is nice. The breading could be better, but I'm not complaining bc they were yummy. Dipping sauce was good too! I would eat here again especially bc they do all day breakfast and the fried green tomatoes!

Breakfast was the BOMB !!! Eggs Benedict served perfectly, with just the right amount of delectable hollandaise sauce, accompanied by the most flavorful pan fried potatoes !!! Abundance of thick slice bacon on delicious slightly toasted artisan bread . Service was impeccable !!! Anxiously awaiting my next visit ;)

WHAT A GEM!.......The food is awesome, you need to try the Roasted Chicken & Dumplings. YUM. Not only is the food excellent, the owners will take time and meet you, Not like some of the local downtown restaurants that claim to be FRESH. I will be coming back more & more, and you should try it!

I REALLY like to frequent local restaurants and stores. That said, I wish I had gone with a chain tonight. SERVERS very pleasant and friendly FOOD - I truly believe everything except soup and salad was an industrial food product. No flavor at all. PRICE for the product we received was too high Sorry for the unfavorable review, but I have cooked better dinners at home, and I'm not a Chef.

This place was the best Breakfast I have ever had! The service was great. The owner said they buy everything fresh and never freeze anything. You can tell by how delicious the food is. A family feel and they make you feel at home. I would recommend this to everyone!
