Went here for a huge family dinner last night, this was mine & my boyfriends first visit although my parents go there all the time. The staff handled our party of 13 with ease and service was excellent....Dwayne visited our table and gave us some complimentary onion rings which we all thought was super nice! Going to break down some specific items I or others in my group commented on below: Onion Rings: HIGHLY recommend-crispy, perfectly seasoned and served with a delicious slightly spicy homemade dipping sauce Fried Mushrooms: HIGHLY recommend-crispy, homemade fresh fried mushrooms.....just wished they would have been served with a horseradish sauce instead of ranch. Ribeye Steak: HIGHLY recommend-4 people in our party ordered this enormous 1lb steak including my boyfriend & I.....let me tell you all 4 of us were glad we did, our steaks were seasoned & cooked absolutely perfect and I found this to be one of the best steaks I have ever eaten at a restaurant based on the tenderness, meat quality, seasoning and being cooked to a perfect rare just how I like it which takes skill in my experience. Great value at $18.99 with 2 sides. Greek Salad: Did not try this but it looked extremely fresh and beautiful.....and my Mom said it was the best Greek Salad she's ever had. Fried Catfish: Did not try this but it looked crispy & delicious, my Uncle said it was fabulous. Mashed potatoes w/white gravy: These were ok....had as a side with my Ribeye, they are good but definitely nothing special. Mac & Cheese : Tasted this, it was just ok....boyfriend had as a side with his Ribeye, not bad but could use some additional seasoning.....maybe a little salt, garlic & onion powder. Fried okra: again the okra was ok....nothing special. Had as a side with my Ribeye. Peanut Butter Pie: EXCELLENT Felt like the wine was slightly over priced for this style of restaurant. Overall great experience, if you haven't been here you should definitely give it a try!

A friend brought in a pie to my office from Dwayne's for a potluck and it looked amazing but I didn't get a chance to try it. Everyone said it was amazing do when it came time to order dessert for my wedding on March 14th, I knew I wanted a few pies. Dwayne helped me place my order and when I picked them up they were still very warm as they were made fresh shortly before I came in. I ordered a Wild Berry, Apple, and Chocolate Bourbon Pecan and they were all AMAZING!!! They were a huge hit at the wedding and looked pretty with all my rustic decor! Thank you so much Dwayne and staff! I will definitely tell others about your pies!

Pros Restaurant cleanliness good Bathrooms clean Ambience good for diner Free Wi Fi Parking plentiful Location convenient Manager checked on us during the meal Waitress was at tentative her name was Leslie Cons Temperature of food luke warm almost cold and the turkey was dry and tough. The restaurant would have been 5 stars if the food temperature was hot. This was a major disappointment and unfortunately we will not be returning.

Dwaynes is not so "dope". The facility reminds you of an old school diner with bright colors, vinyl and a huge counter area. The place was very clean and all staff were polite. The food was bland and boring. Reminded me of pre made box mixes and fake gravies. Everything was over salted. Average Diner food- minus the homemade. The roll was warm & soft but sticky-topped, I was guessing brushed with butter and sugar- the BEST part of our experience. I would come again and just grab rolls. My partner grabbed a burger that was huge, but nothing special and when it arrived - lukewarm at best. Typical lettuce, tomato, etc. I had an open faced Roast Beef sandwich which was BLAND. White bread that could have been given to the birds and Roast Beef that was dry. I did not even finish my meal. Their overall menu is typical but it does have a lot of options for groups with a lot of different taste buds.

Imagine a home-style TGIF's atmosphere. Friendly staff, with southern style cooking.

After about 8 visits for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I'm giving Dwayne's 5 stars for being a standout family diner that offers homestyle southern food...just what it claims to do. I don't go there expecting spring-fed organic salads, artisan breads, or beef raised on tender green shoots from the foothills of a Chilean mountain range. I go there because I know they'll seat me quickly, wait on me efficiently, and give me food that is consistently good...all at a reasonable price. The owner is always there greeting guests and guess what? supervising. Clearly he's interested in giving his customers a superior experience and the cleanliness of the place, efficient friendliness of the staff, and the regular customers he often greets by name prove he is succeeding. So if you're looking for a "dope" restaurant, look west...I'm sure they have plenty in Colorado.

We loved the soup and sandwich. This night it was BLT and Potato/rice Dwayne's sweet tea is the best in town. After apple pie and hot coffee. The bill was the best surprise of the night. Much lower then you would have expected. All this and the most friendly servers in town. You can not go wrong eating at Dwayne's Place We were happy to hear that they were not open on Sunday, giving the staff time to go to Church and rest.

I am little disappointed in the star rating for Reececliffs, We have been coming here on Saturday mornings for breakfast and most recently we just came in for lunch. We have ordered numerous items for breakfast and never had a bad meal. As for lunch we both had club sandwiches and since the wife is pregnant we asked our waitress to grill the deli meat first for health reasons it was a non issue, and we appreciate that and that's why we come back.

FIve months after my initial poor review I'd been hearing great compliments about the food & service so thought I should reevaluate Every town needs a good diner and I was still hoping this would fit the bill. This place ditched the Reececliff clone and is now it's own "Dwayne's Place". I was seated quickly at a booth both visits. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and amply staffed. (Coke products, $2) The Saturday special was roast beef, 3 sides ($10). Soup was cabbage beef, vegetable was lima beans. I decided on a grilled chop and two sides for $8. I chose mashed potatoes and a house salad. It was served quickly though my salad was forgotten. I was given a choice of cornbread or roll. The roll was warm and soft but sticky-topped, I was guessing brushed with butter and sugar? Maybe a hint of honey. My meal was decent diner food. The chop was well-cooked and well-seasoned, but thin. The taters and gravy were luke warm. The salad was fresh (but eaten last on arrival). I liked that I was left to my own devices to salt my food. I liked that it was a reasonable amount --not overwhelming portions. Prices were all $7-10 for entrees. Next visit I had "country fried chicken". Instead of pounded flat, it was a plump fried boneless chicken breast smothered in white pepper gravy. I found it satisfying. The owner proudly mentioned his Swiss steaks were fresh, not frozen product like the uptown restaurant and that he had a good cabbage recipe he was going to start offering. Whole pies are $12 or $16. I took a slice of coconut custard to go and chocolate pie the second visit ($3). Yum on both counts. This place has grown in my book to 4-star service with great diner-class food. I'm still calling it 3-stars as the indigestion/stomach issues upon leaving are not a good sign of something. It is cleaner and less greasy spoon than Fat Jacks and tastier and better service/ambiance than Anna's (or IHOP or Bob Evans or Reececliffs). They are advertising a fried catfish catering service but had little details. 1/2015 update. Was greeted at the door by one pleasant girl who was pushed aside and I was regreeted by a scowly girl who also openly sneered at another customer as I walked to be seated. She did not ask my preference in seating and walked me to the furtherst point in the restaurant. This set the tone for an unpleasant dining experience. Further, wanting lunch items instead of breakfast was a no go. My thought being by the time it came out it would be 11 but nope they were passing out a breakfast menu only. Said they might be able to fry a piece of chicken for me but that would be a 20 minute wait. It was too easy to go to Bob Evans across the street and get served in 10 minutes with breakfast or lunch any time. A good dining experience starts with well-trained happy help with people skills.

This place is always busy when my husband and I go for lunch or dinner. Great food and outstanding service. LOVE their pies, many of times I purchase whole pies to take home and sometimes, we go just for a cup of coffee and a piece of pie! Keep up the great service & food!

This is just an average diner. The food is so so , they probably buy the cheapest meat and other foods available. The service is slow, it's hard to eat lunch there and be back at work in an hour.

Dwayne's never disappoints went there today for lunch and ordered the roast beef open faced sandwich & for one of my sides I had the eggplant casserole and it was amazing. Mostly go to Dwayne's for breakfast but once in awhile I go for the All-you-Can-Ear catfish and its lip licking good. Service is great & the owner Dwayne stops by each table to make sure your happy with your good.

So my mom and I where looking for a new, locally owned restaurant to try for breakfast and a few people suggested this place. We pulled in and the parking lot was full, which is a good sign to me. We only waited about 15 minutes after putting our names on the list. The waitress was very nice. Mom ordered the Country Breakfast which was 2 biscuits and gravy and 2 eggs, I ordered the Meat Lovers omelette. Very large portions and tasted very good as well. Prices are very reasonable.

I am obsessed with this place! The food is so fresh and flavorful. It really tastes like good home cookin'. The owner remembers his guests by name and I always love the small town feeling I get while eating here. The steak, fried chicken, and sloppy Joe sandwich are some of my favorites. Do not leave without getting onion rings or pie.

I was really surprised to read the reviews for this place because our experience was the exact opposite. We visited for breakfast, 8:30 AM on a Thursday. We were greeted by the owner when we arrived. I ordered the French toast and bacon, husband ordered a western omelet, hash browns and toast. French toast was good, but the bacon was one of the best that I have ever had. Husband said his meal was excellent as well. Restaurant was super clean and staff was friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable too. Will definitely be coming back and bringing more people with us next time!

Just okay. We like the Reececliff in downtown Lakeland and so were expecting this place to be the same. The service was poor for breakfast and the food was just blah.
