Biscuits, grits, hash browns. This is the best place for breakfast in Lakeland Florida! I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Meh. I was expecting a lot more, based on the other Yelp reviews. Food was way too salty, and I felt very rushed while eating. Also, who doesn't take credit cards in 2015?! Prices are good though, especially with their lunch special. The food came out very quickly, too. If salt is your thing, then go for it.

What an adorable place. Robin is probably the sweetest woman I have ever talked to. They don't accept cards though! But there is an ATM right next door. I got the breakfast combo #2 and it was delicious! Cheap prices too! So glad I stopped in.

Perfect breakfast. Bacon was crispy and eggs were a perfect 'over-medium'! (something no IHOP or Denny's has been able to do). Whites were solid and yolk was not. I will eat here again for sure.

Had the steak and eggs. Wasn't bad. The service is what you come to expect in a small town diner. Great breakfast location that only takes cash!

good food, great service! got a bacon chz burger $6.45; FF $1.75; chef salad $7.95 ; soda $2.+ and a bowl of chili $5.00. I didn't like the Chili. it has a very strong ketchup flavor. total about $23.00 plus tip. a great place to go for food.

What a nice, welcoming place!! There is a real positive vibe to everybody working here. They also greet their regulars by name at the front door. The food is very tasty, the portions are good, and the price is great. You really can't go wrong here.

Few of the reviews are very misleading IMO. Its a great cafe in a shopping center. Clean with good food. They do have a facebook page Jerry- just utilize facebook search. Home cooked lunch special today is 5.25 plus drink. Last time I checked the chicken combo meals at McDonald's were about the same price. Someone said the portions were small-lol. I ate the Thursday special last week and could barely finish it. I would recommend.

Came here for the first time since they popped up when I went searching for an AUCE ( All You Can Eat) Fish Fry on Fridays ( yey for Lent!) They have counter seating right at the kitchen - which is always entertaining, and quick to seat. They don't have a ton of tables both inside and out- and the fill up fast! We got greeted almost immediately when entering the facility by both cook and waitress and told to sit anywhere. First of all- the place is immaculately clean. For a small diner I was impressed with how shiny the stainless steel was, floors and bathroom. Even the vents were dust free! Food came quick and in large quantities- meal included fried white fish, cornbread, coleslaw, and fries/home fries/baked potato/or grits for $8. The fish was fresh but I and my partner were not a fan of their particular breading *shake n bake style would be my comparison* but it was still decently made- thin pieces of fish though but plenty. The coleslaw was a more dry based ( not a huge amount of cream, which is a fav for me!) and had a deliciously sweet flavor. Home Fries were red potatoes with a slight seasoning- not note worthy but filling. The corn bread was homemade fresh and served in huge chunks - I ate two pieces! You can get a refill on ANY of the items mentioned - not just fish which is great. Overall- we will be returning!

It's good, not much of a selection for breakfast, I would not mind going again! The price is good for what you get, the coffee is a little watered down!

I read the reviews here and decided to try Britt's Cafe for lunch today along with my sister-in-law and nephew. The place was busy when we walked in and no one acknowledged us for a bit. Eventually, we were told to "just sit anywhere" so we picked one of the 3 tables that were empty but not yet cleared. We sat there with no further acknowledgment and even heard the two servers arguing about whose turn it was to take our table. I guess they didn't come to a decision because neither one came our way. After around 10 minutes of waiting for someone to talk to us, another person walked in and sat at one of the other tables right next to ours. That person was acknowledged, while their table was wiped and set. We got up and no one said a thing while we just walked out.

So, let me start by saying I avoided this place for a year for two reasons: It looks very uninviting from the outside, and it has no online presence. In this day and age I just can't understand that - websites can cost under $10 a month and Facebook pages are free. I definitely like being able to see menus and such before heading somewhere, and luckily someone had taken a photo of the menu and put it on the check-in for the cafe on Facebook. So anyway, my wife and I decided to stop here for breakfast recently. The first thing we saw was that they don't take credit cards (another thing that doesn't make sense to me - I understand that fees are taken out for every charge but still, I have a Square device for my iPhone so I can take credit cards, why can't this restaurant? Just put a $5 minimum on charges or something). So we had to run into Publix and get cash - I couldn't find the ATM so luckily we had to buy something and I got cash back. Once we finally made it inside the place was nice and the staff was friendly. And most importantly the food was made quick, hot and delicious! I had a skillet and my wife had pancakes, and we were both satisfied. So when it comes to the food, definitely happy and we will go back for lunch. Assuming I remember to take cash out. Update! My wife and I went back to try lunch and we are very, very pleased! My wife had a chicken cheddar melt (I forget what it was exactly called), and I had a southwest chicken sandwich - turned into a wrap instead. Delicious!! We will definitely be going back, there is plenty more I want to try. Also, I found the ATM! It's actually outside of the Publix. I can only imagine how many people have read this review and are laughing at me for walking right by it. Update 2! I just re-read this and realized I never mentioned that Britt's -does- have an online presence now. They have a Facebook page! Which is good enough for me. I have it liked to keep an eye on specials and to look at the menu whenever we are thinking of heading over (They have it in their photos section)!

It is a cute lunch place. My group had the fish fry which they liked. I had the asian salad without the chicken. Everything looked fresh and made to order. It is clean, the staff is very friendly and quick service without being rushed. They do not take credit cards.

I have been here twice and have to say that I am impressed. The first time that I came here, my mom and I both got the fish special, and loved it. The fish was really good. The breading/batter wasn't excessive to where that's all you get. They had shaken the excess off before frying. The home fries and cornbread are really good. The 2nd time that I went, I got the tuna melt on marbled rye bread and my mom got the patty melt. The tuna melt was excellant and so was the marbled rye bread (and I don't even like rye). Their fries and onion rings are excellant. If you don't to dine a any of the chain restaurants that are on Harden Blvd., this is the place to go.

FYI: Britt's does NOT take credit cards...but there is a handy little ATM near Publix for those of you who get caught off guard...like I did. We went to Britt's for lunch. Upon our arrival, we discovered that the joint was packed, so we sat outside ( just beyond the Salvation Army Bell Ringer). Our server was quick to our table and informed us of their specials. I ordered the 1/2 Cuban and Black Bean and Yellow Rice soup. Turns out the Cuban was outstanding...the black bean soup was ok, but they brought out hot sauce which livened it up. With a glass of water, this meal was about $5. I would definitely go back if they accepted credit cards, but since they don't - I am sure I could find another cafe in town with soup and sandwich specials....

One of us really like Britt's Cafe and the other thinks it is just okay. It is a decent place with decent standard cafe food, but the food is not extraordinary. The Friday night fish special is nice if you like fish (I don't). We'll eventually go back.

Great lunch stop, best mushroom swiss burgers in town! They offer daily specials, Thursdays Southwest Chicken is worth a trip across town. Friendly staff, reasonable prices.
