diner w/o newspaper machines. coupon special same as sandwich board --annoying. kim was server at breakfast-not someone you want to wake up to and inflexible on substitutions. brought us meals quickly but were someone elses; after she realized, she came back and took them to the right diners--gross! then long wait and wrong eggs with wrong meat . another diner walked out ---waited at table too long. Mike from palace pizza came in --kim misunderstood what he said and gave him three breakfasts instead of two. food was good but waitress trying to kill the business!

I reviewed this place in 2009, 2010 and 2011 within my 2009 review. It's been two years and in fairness, it was time for another full review. This diner is in a prime corner location of a high use strip mall. It has taken a beating especially in its early reviews. Today I arrived at 4:30 pm- and the place only had one other patron. The waitress seated me promptly and I had my drink almost as quickly as I sat down. Needing a burger fix, I worried I'd get a thin freezer burn imitation. Instead, I got one of the best burgers I've ever had--competed with Chili's Old Timer and S&D's great burgers. It was 1/3 pound and cooked perfectly on a fresh bun with tomato, lettuce, pickle and just the right amount of onion. It was still juicy and flavorful with no pink. I could choose fries or salad/cole slaw for the side. Sadly, I succumbed to fries. The crinkle cut fries were definitely bagged product but cooked perfectly. They went well with the malt vinegar on the table reminding me of the beach. I also liked that the salting of the burger and fries was left up to me. The price was cheaper for better food than Five Guys. With water, I paid $6.50. (Pepsi products, sorry.) The menu is typical diner, full of choices under $10. The waitress shared a "real chef" works Tues, Fri & Sat as opposed to "cooks" the other days. The small salad bar is full of fresh options. They do a fish fry on Friday nights. Beer & wine is an option. They still have specialty nights with old cars or Elvis. The decor is old 45s and is pretty "Elvis" and could be designed/laid out better than randomly spaced, but there are some interesting pieces on view. This place is much much more encouraging for good food & service. yay. 1/2014. best Philly cheese steak EVER!!! Great job $8. 10/2014. Horrible service, snotty waitress. Yucky breakfast burrito--had potatoes shoved in with the egg, sausage, whole thing was fried, greasy. No flavor to the sausage and mostly breading. McDonald's is better! Salsa is 50c extra. 6/2015. Great $10 steak, cooked properly. Nice meal with salad bar, 2 sides. Blah to the veggie options (collards, okra, limas--too southern for me) Had a cherry chocolate chip pie dessert that sounded scrumptious! They may get 4 stars out of me yet!

My wife and I walked in and stood there for about 3 mins awkwardly before an older lady said we could have a seat anywhere. Sat down and another 5 mins went by an no one came by to take drink order or even acknowledge we were in the restaurant. It was not busy about 10 people in the whole place. We just left and won't be going back.

Came here tonight to try for the first time! I don't think I would ever go back there! Everything there is frozen food. Green beans was like mush and the grilled cheese wasn't even melted. Catfish was so greasy! Nothing like going to a place spending almost $40.00 and not even finishing your food. Don't waste your money!

I decided to give this place another try. The first time I went in a few years ago, I asked for my drink in a to go cup. I was told that would be .20 cents more. Then I asked for onions in my home fries. Was told that would be .15 cents more. Today I went in and had to wait for someone to acknowledge me then to seat me. It took almost 5 min. Because the person who sat me had to finish scraping off dirty plates first. I always thought seating the customer took priority. Then I was ignored by all the servers until a man named Roger came in. He was hugged and shown a table immediately. His drink order was taken and then the server noticed me. After waiting a little over 5 minutes for a server it took Roger coming in to be noticed. My order was taken, 2 eggs over medium, bacon and home fries, coffee and water. Well, 5 people got their good before me, including Roger and when I finally got my food, it was minus the home fries. After complaining to my server, I got a half-assed apology and my potatoes. I honestly don't know how these people stay in business. My husband and I go out to eat a lot and this is by far the worst place I have ever been to. If they don't know you, you are out of luck in this place. I don't think I'll try it again.

Family and I went Friday night for the first time. Had fried green tomatoes as the appetizer which was excellent. Fresh and hot. Son and husband had the all you can eat fried Pollack for $6.95 which also was good and fresh. I had the salad bar which was somewhat lacking but the blackened mauhi was excellent. My youngest had the child's platter with fried shrimp which was great. I certainly will be back.

I've been looking forward to visiting Anna's Diner for sometime now. First impression: a good candidate for Kitchen Nightmares or Restaurant Impossible...or any show that will come in and gut the place! The decor is diner-cheap. It reminds one of eating in a strip mall. Oh wait. The severs are very yokel. If you're a yokel, then that's good...I guess. Nice enough, but very unprofessional. Uniforms (hot pink shirts) have got to go. On the way to the table, I stopped by the 2x3 salad bar. If you like beets, you'll love it! If you like any type of meat or salad other than iceberg, skip it...especially for $5.95. Needless to say, the salad bar lacks any imagination at all. The tomatoes looked GREAT though; big, red and juicy! I decided on a burger. My companion chose the salad bar and the fries. The fries ROCKED. Very tasty and very nicely seasoned (frozen). The salad bar, for all it isn't, is stocked with fresh produce; the lettuce and onions were very crunchy and pleasant. The Ranch dressing, however, was horrid. Big SKIP on that one. My burger arrived well done just like I DIDN'T ask for it. From the looks of the decor, I didn't think asking for a re-fire would help, so I ate it anyway. Have to say, for what appeared to be a frozen patty, it was juicy enough. Unfortunately, there seems to be no seasoning in the kitchen: the hamburger was reminiscent of warm cardboard. Was surprised to find the bill close to $20. It's not that I didn't see the prices, it's just that it wasn't worth half of that. My recommendation if you are driving by Highland City and want a bite to eat, Burger King is just across the parking lot. Stop by there. UPDATE: On second thought, every time I go to the Burger King in Highland City the people are extremely rude. There's a McDonald's down the street; go there instead.
