I had time to kill in Lake Helen recently. So I visited Papa's. Great choice. There are not a lot of places to eat or even just sit down and have a glass of tea in this quaint little town. I had a salad the first visit. Fresh and delicious. The second visit I had an Italian sub. It was terrific. Service was great. The second day the man working said if you just want to hang out feel free. He knew i had 2 hours to kill. Very nice place.
I'm a local and love taking the kids here. They have plenty of booths inside, as well as tables and are willing to accommodate a good size group. (Certainly, I would call if you have a party of 10, they do get busy some nights) This pizza is very consistent, always good quality, and a very friendly ambiance starting with the pizza cooks as well as the counter staff. Its a classic pizza joint, with the cafe styled interior and the ovens close enough that you can watch the pizza makers and talk to them. (That's how it used to be back in the last century, talk to the pizza maker and throw him a tip.) This place is awesome, check them out!
This is my favorite pizza place outside of NYC. It's the best place to eat in this tiny little town. I love the thin pizzas and the salads, too. I just hate getting a craving for it on Sundays when they're closed.

Sinatra’s Laldila Restaurant

355 Cassadaga Rd

Reviews:
Sinatra's Restaurant is delightfully unique. The only real way I can describe is as a lost in time restaurant inside of a lost in time hotel located in lost in time Cassadaga. But it gets better than that since oddly enough Cassadaga, Florida is the winter time resort of a two part spiritualist community, the other being Lily Dale in Cassadaga, New York, which as the designated site of the "Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association" shares the title of being the twin Psychic Capitals of the World. So if you come here, don't be surprised if you note that some of your dining companions are spiritualists. As for the food, I'd say a weak four stars but for an overall dining experience a solid four stars plus. If you're in the area, it's an experience not to be missed and one that I have no hesitation in highly recommending. The menu is basically Italian, rather complete but if you note a mention or reference to Arthur on the menu or elsewhere, be aware that Arthur is the spirit or ghost who haunts or otherwise occupies the hotel. But not to worry, he purportedly only lingers there because of a fondness for the smell of gin and cigars. I had their Caesar which didn't amount to much but also their pan sear diver scallops finished with a champagne citrus basil beurre blanc sauce accompanied by a risotto, the scallops of which came nicely sauce polished and true to their menu statement, bronze on coloration. My dining companion went for a meatball sandwich which I found to be robust, hearty and full flavored.
This is our second time visiting and our dinner was so disappointing. My steak was over cooked, my risotto and shrimp were ice cold. I waited to tell the waitress but she didn't come around until everyone was done eating. My fillet only had 1 piece cut off and the waitress was so rude and offered 50% off and shrugged and said that's all I can do. She never offered to see if I would like something else and our drinks were left empty for almost the entire time.
Our second visit first time it was awesome and so fun. We sat at the piano bar and enjoyed great entertainment and to our surprise it was happy our! We had drinks then dinner very good. Second time we drove out of our way cause we enjoyed it so much the first time. The service was awful, the food awful, entertainment awful and oh you only get to partake in happy if you sit in the bar it's only 10 feet away. I checked the web-site says nothing about happy hour only in the bar. Sad to say this little charm FAILED to impress a second time. we will not return sadly.
