The service was great, waters and chip and salsa came right away. The chips and salsa are different from other Mexican restaurants. The taste of the food was ok if you like spicy then you might like this place.

Wonderful Experience. My daughter and I stopped there after a LOOOONNNGGG morning at the DMV. It was comfort food for us. The server, Luis, was very attentive and pleasent. Our food was super tasty and good sized portions for the price. The salsa was fresh and just the right amount of heat. Cheese dip was very good as well. He also brought us a dip he said was Mexican ranch for our chips. I really enjoyed that. My chicken Chimichanga was flavorful and not dry like others I've had at other places. She had all the refried beans and rice that a 3 year old could handle and loved every bite.

Large serving sizes. Food tasted great. Nice inside. Chips are great with mexican ranch and salsa served. I had enchiladas with cheese sauce and a side of refried beans.

Looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, I stumbled upon Tres Amigos (actually from a Yelp ad). I had the Carne Asada, with my wife having the Cheese Chili Rellenos. I was pleasantly suprised with the service. Seemed that the waitress was one of the family that ran it and answered our questions politely. The food was good, warm, and tasty. The appetizer of beef nachos needed a side of medium salsa to zing it up, although some might choose not to. The Carne Asada was thin cut, and had the taste of being cooked over a smokey fire pit. Delicious! How do you get that flavor in a kitchen? The Chili Rellenos were also a good choice. The only drawback was the atmosphere. This place may not be a place to take a date or recommend to a friend, unless they are looking for authentic Mexican. Chipotle it is not. If you have a wild hair, give it a try.

We have been here a few times now and each meal was very good. There weren't any overwhelming spices (i like a little more spice), but the food was good. Each group gets chips, salsa, and a white sauce...maybe a spicy ranch? The best parts of this restaurant are the friendly staff (always!) And the ability to grab a quick meal. They have great prices, too!

I came with my family on a Monday night around 6:30pm. It was our first time at Tres Amigos and the place was pretty empty due to it being fairly new. The restaurant was very clean and spacious. It was decorated very nicely and had its typical Mexican style. We were greeted immediately by a server and sat at a table of our choice. We ordered our drinks , my brother got a dos xx which was kinda watered down and my mother a lemonade which on the menu stated no free refills. Ok??? We asked if they had any dinner specials but the server was not sure and had to ask another sever. When she came back she told us it was a taco salad and a typical burrito. She didn't really explain correctly but w.e. I ended up ordering the taco salad. I thought the server had placed our order already after a couple minutes but she ended up coming back twice to ask if we wanted chicken or beef. I was a little annoyed cause we were hungry but After about 10 minutes or food came out. It was nice and hot. The taco salad with chicken was very delicious! My family also enjoyed their plates. The sever checked on us to make sure everything was ok. Overall the food was great but they have to train their employees more on menu knowledge and guest service. I will be coming back in the future to see if service improves. Oh!! one more thing that I found very ridiculous you have the choice of either rice OR beans for your entrée.OK?? Usually you get both but maybe there on a tight budget along with no free refills on fountain drinks.

We found Tres Amigos when we came to Kissimmee on vacation. My husband and I both had taco salads for lunch. The guacamole was fresh and tasy, my husband said it was the best taco salad he's ever had. Wait staff eas courteous and friendly. I would definitely eat there again!

When I try a new Mexican restaurant, there are three things I consider: the menu in general, the Carne Asada, and/or the Fajitas (usually chicken). In this case, I tried the Carne Asada. First impressions were the place was nice - clean and organized with spacing considered and looked like they could easily handle a part of 25 as well as a standard family. I was there on Tuesday, two days before Christmas, so didn't care much that the number of filled tables was modest (though I know from the previous restaurant at that spot, the location is not that good). Upon reviewing the menu, I was very unimpressed. If you want "Authentic Mexican" food, the menu will be limited and the kitchen will cook only what they are good at cooking. In this case, there were probably about 75 food options on the menu - reminded me of a cookie-cutter Mexican restaurant menu concept. Further, another thing I pay attention to is the designated vegetarian options. An "Authentic Mexican" restaurant will offer more than the typical quesadilla or chili relleno. Tres Amigos did little more than list typical options for the vegetarian fare. To this point, I was unimpressed, though service was good and my food was still being prepared. When I received my Carne Asada, it was not spectacular looking by any means, but then I've had excellent Carne Asada at fast food places. This dish, though, was little more than a fried flank stake. There was very little seasoning or of anything to make it distinct from what else I have had apart from the blandness. The stake itself was of typical quality and not over cooked, though that would have alarmed me if the latter had happened. All in all, I did not find my meal to be very good. For those reading the above, consider that I grew up in Los Angeles, and have lived in Tucson, Arizona for several years. But, where I currently live, in Memphis, has a Mexican restaurant that ranks quite high on my list of Mexican restaurants.

Best server ever! Food came out fast & the margaritas, OMGEEZ! The special was 2 for 1, $6.00. They were the best, ever! My husband got the fajita nachos. Plenty of steak & the flavoring was really good. If you're in town, stop here. You'll not be disappointed.

Beautiful new building makes you want to try whats inside. Extremely delicious margaritas....I have had my fair share to be a good judge. Guacamole was creamy and filled with flavor. However, if you are looking for a mole` dish, they do not have any.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
