If you're coming to a kitchy-vintage burger joint expecting a gourmet meal, you are going to be sorely dissapointed. With that said, the atmosphere is cute, circa 1950, complete with little jukeboxes on the tables. The food is alright. The service is okay. The floor is kind of sticky, but it's nothing that is going to hurt anyone or is a ding on a health department requirement. I think it's geared more towards teens and families, not necessarily something for us mid 20-somethings wanting something more than a chain burger.

LOCATION Right next to the Regal Movie theatre at the Loop outside mall. CONCEPT '50's diner. AMBIANCE Loud, busy, cheap fake diner. SERVICE Great. Very enthusiastic server named Pedro, even though he apparently was serving half the establishment and running back and forth. Didn't help that the kitchen cooks kept yelling Pedro every 20 seconds. DRINKS I had a Ghirardelli shake and my girlfriend had the S'mores shake. They were good, but they are miles away (literally!) from the ones we can get at Cowfish. The Ghirardelli square inside the chocolate was not as good as I thought it'd be. FOOD Onion rings and sweet potato fries were good. I had the Route 66 burger, which is the one with mushrooms, and she had a new cheddar cheesy melt. The food tastes good while you are eating it, but it's nothing extraordinary. Unfortunately, when you are done eating it, you don't feel that good. You feel like you have mistreated your body and you'll pay for it later on. PRICE Acceptable, but with the competition around, it is not enough. OVERALL We went here because we didn't want to eat too much and we felt like burgers. On hindsight, we should have gone to the nearby Five Guys or just brave the line at Chipotle. There's no good reason to come to this restaurant based on all the good, affordable places around. Feel free to skip it unless you just want the shakes.

I was very disappointed with my burger during my last visit. The burger was so soggy and wet my burger just fell apart. I'm not sure how the burger could even get so moist in the first place. The milkshake was really good! They should hire a few more servers. There was only one server and he was running all over the place. Super nice guy but I could tell he was exhausted. This place is way too expensive for what you get. My bill was $18 with tip...for a burger, cheese fries and milkshake. I wont be going back anytime soon. There are way too many other options for burger places in the area.

Came in to Johnny Rockets for a quick meal other then the normal fast food flare out there. I had the half fries and half onion rings which were really good. After that my #12 came and it was very good. I have no complaints. The food is good and the service is good. Above average burgers and also good music. I wish I can give it a 3.5 so a 4 it is.

Been to a few Johnny Rockets before, but will never go again. I had the Barbecue Bacon Chicken Melt. No chicken sandwich is worth almost $8. We got two kids meals, neither of which came with apple sauce. The waiter, Johnny, ironically enough, argued with us, saying it was apple sauce or fries while the menu clearly says apple sauce + fries. However, I can't really blame them. After all, one glance at their prices tells you that basic math clearly eludes them.

We went there when we where on the loop shopping center I had the veggie burger which was Ok was not overly impressed with the dining experience. It was extremely busy so the service also suffered.

Definitely not recommended. Very average food, and below average service. I found out that Johnny Rockets is a franchise, and does not have to follow all the "rules" as the other Johnny Rockets. In particular, I was disappointed that the fries are not all you can eat like the international drive location. Not that I need them!

Our orders were all wrong... I have only had a good experience at this place when on the cruise ships. Will Never be my 1st or 2nd choice to dine.

Always wanted to try this place, but now that is out of my system. The burgers were ok, fries were meh but they had good onion rings. The shake was smaller than I've seen in other establishments. Now, after I've eaten here an I see one next to a 5 Guys or a Steak and Shake; I'd go to either of them.

Drink orders were wrong right from the start. Our fries and onion rings were served before our burgers got to the table. By the time the burgers arrived they were cold. The only thing that was good was the burger. The server seemed to be preoccupied in a empty restaurant. NOT A GOOD VISIT! If this is the norm, AVOID AT ALL COST!

Consistent location to location from Boston to FLA, had a great burger and fries at this location. You always know what you will get and it is always pretty good. Can't beat the "Original" burger! Some may say this chain is overpriced, but my opinion is you get what you pay for.

Upon walking up the restaurant I first noticed something was wrong because none of the exterior illumination was on. I was at first unsure if they were open. Walking in I was greeted by an insanely rude older waitress. I notice there are stacks of dishes piled up on one of the center tables. Wait about 10 minutes before a server comes to take our drink order. The server then instead of placing our order stops at 3-4 other tables taking orders and drops about 20 covers on the cook at once. For next hour we watch as a soap opera happens in front of our eyes. The older waitress is ranting at the entire staff, no besides our waiter seems to be working. At one point a girl comes out of the kitchen crying and holding a phone. The older waitress is ranting at everyone cooks, servers, everyone. Our food is now severed piece meal one plate at a time first our fries which are cold, the tables around all receive items one at a time. I watch the rest of order sit waiting to be picked up because our waiter is slammed and is the only one working. The older waitress would stand there sipping a soda not helping. At one point there is no other staff besides our very busy waiter on the floor, the waiter actually had to wander over and turn off the fryer alarm because there was no one staffing the grill. The entire staff cooks and all is in the back listening to the one waitress rant. The most bizarre hour I have ever spent in a restaurant.

We were in the Loop shopping and I was craving a burger and a milkshake, so we ended up eating here. I read the reviews and I think people are just expecting too much here. The burgers are reasonably priced but the fries are separate just an FYI. We got 2 milkshakes (rootbeer and Oreo) cheese fries, 1 bacon burger and 1 boca burger. We almost didn't eat here since we didn't know they served Boca Burgers (my wife doesn't eat beef) but the waitress quickly told us that they had a vegetarian option. The decor is nostalgic of old 50's diners which I loved. The waitress we had was fantastic, very attentive and quick. Cheese fries were good, I like that they were a mix of melted cheese and shredded cheese. The boca burger was a boca burger, nothing really to write home about. The bacon burger was eh. This isn't the place where you can ask to have it cooked a certain way, and the meat was entirely over cooked. I'm a medium/medium rare kind of guy and this just didn't cut it. This was OK, the service made up for the burger. I probably wouldn't come back but if you are in the area and have a craving it will satisfy.
