Joe’s Crab Shack Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

So, to start off this lil' post I am stating that I have been to Joe's Crab Shack several different times, at several different locations. We arrived to this shack at about 6pm on a Tuesday evening, expecting it to be slightly busy (heavy tourist area)...Much to our surprise we were seated right away. However, when we ventured to our seat, our hostess sat us at one of those half booth/half chair tables, reminiscent of a cafeteria or a fast food joint. I asked if we could actually have a booth, but received no response. Whatever, at the time this was the least of my worries. We were quickly greeted by our server. She was pleasant. She took our drink orders and came back promptly. Kudos to that. We ordered crab dip nachos to start off. The avocado lime sauce and the small amount of crab dip were actually quite delicious. However, the chips, while warm, were very oily and over salted. My side salad was alright, but it must have been towards the end of the greens, towards the white stalk, lending a bitter taste to the lettuce. The ranch dressing was on point, though. On to our main courses - The first dish was the new steak frites (Simply meaning steak and fries). The steak was very tender, however, the marinade on the steak made it taste like a cross between a bourbon teriyaki and freezer burned flavor. I've had steaks from diners, to waffle house, to truck stops, to Charley's Steakhouse and this was the first time in my life that I did not finish the steak. The fries were cooked very well, but the garlic aioli could of had a bit more garlic. The next dish was a Chipotle crab cake salad. Not sure if the chef accidentally dumped too much salt on the crab cakes and dusted it off in to the salad, but it was pretty close to taking in libations directly from the ocean (salty like drinking ocean water). The last dish was southern stuffed shrimp. Some of the dumped salt must have been brushed off on to this too. The bacon, that was wrapped around the stuffed shrimp, tasted alright, but as a whole, it was ehh. The shrimp, especially, was very rubbery. The tabasco dipping sauce that accompanied this dish was actually pretty good. None of us finished, even a percentage of, our meal. We definitely won't back.

My wife and I wanted a great dinner on our first night of a long Valentine's Day weekend. We saw that Joes Crab Shack was not busy at 5:00 and decided to give it a try. Boy were we disappointed. We sat near the bar while the bartenders had inappropriate conversations in front of customers and made fun of the cars on 192, loudly laughing, acting like 5 year old kids. We had a mediocre waitress who was not very personable. I ordered the mushroom appetizer for the $5.00 happy hour. They were good and we were off to a good start. For dinner, I ordered the Lobster Dad Dinner and my wife, a seafood hush puppy dinner (similar to a pot pie). They were terrible. My wife's entrée had overlooked shrimp and an awful beer taste. The lobster in the cream sauce was rubbery and the hush puppies were like solid rocks. My seafood dinner awful. The snow crab was old and difficult to eat...the crab fell apart like saw dust. Even the drawn butter the waitress brought was an odd white foam vs drawn butter...I sent that back and she brought the same stuff. Horrible! Never again. I would steer all hungry diners away Joes Crab Sh*#!

From the cover of this book I was very weary...but boy was I wrong! I came expectedly during happy hour and was able to get half price apps which was an absolute steal! The Calamari are HUGE and tasty, the kids meals are cheap and tasty, the combo lobster platters could feed a family. I went with the Maine grill which was good but I wish I got a plate that did not grill the lobster due to the lack of juice and it being dry. Otherwise amazing sides, I loved the Raspberry Red Palmer drink and the apple crumble dessert! I got two adult meals, two kids meals, two apps, one alcoholic beverage, 3 fountain drinks and one desert for under $90! What a bargain!

Got the Bairdi crab in the garlic sauce - AMAZING! My sides of corn and potatoes were perfectly cooked, al dente! Great, friendly service! Bon appetite!

It's been 10 years since coming here. My my how you have increased in quality! There were 3 of us. We all went for different steamer pots. I recommend any of them. I had the Orleans. I am a always looking for the kick and fire, just as advertised, nice and spicy! So impressed with this chain!

Over priced & over cooked. Passed through after our Disney Vacation and was unimpressed. The kids enjoyed their kids meals and they're a decent price. The crab dishes start at $23 and go up from there. The crab was over cooked so it kept getting stuck inside the shell. They didn't serve with drawn butter either and none of the clusters were complete. Very skimpy for the price. They have a nice play ground for the kids. Have a cocktail & let the kids play but be prepared to pay!

My husband and I took in dinner at Joe's last night for date night. We just got the last few minutes of their "happy hour" (which is 4-7 and 9-close, M-F) They had some great deals for happy hour. 3.00 drafts (pints), 3.00 ritas, and 5.00 apps. We ordered the Samuel Adams steam pot. It was very good; however, if both people are hungry - it is not really enough to share. This is our third visit to Joe's. Every time we go, we feel like we pay a lot for a little. We ate at the bar, and the service at the bar was great. Bartenders were friendly and helpful. Food came out quickly and hot. My only "nag" would be how the hostess were dressed and acting. Both of them were laughing and carrying on loudly, and had on super tight, denim shorts. While I understand I live in and eat out in FL., there is a level of appropriateness that is lost in our restaurants where waitresses and hostess are concerned. There is nothing wrong with wearing shorts; however, 3 sizes too small (when you are a larger build) is not appealing as the first thing I see when I walk into a restaurant. Keep it classy..............

The. Services sucks. Low staff. You have the bartender serving tables. The king crabs are small tiny little nothing but spits of water coming out. You want real deal go to Danbury Ct at Barbariais. For rreal deal king crabs.

It's been a while since we've been here, but oh my gosh, I would never want to go back here. We had a horrible experience. The server was very distant and we literally made stacks of glasses that he left on the table (between 5 people we had about 10 empty glasses at one point) and then the food took FOREVER, literally 45+ minutes. He came to the table maybe once or twice to let us know that our food would be out "shortly" and shortly never really came around. And then when we got the food, it wasn't all the correct stuff. It was just a mess and no, it wasn't busy. It just wasn't good at all. Never again.

If I could give this place "0" stars, I would. I had heard great things about Joe's from a friend who has gone to one in another state. So, my best friend and I decided to try the one right down the street from her new apartment. We took the trip and from the very beginning, felt a sense of disappointment. We were seated pretty quickly but it all went downhill from there. To make this review short, here is our list of reasons as to why you should never step foot in this particular restaurant: 1. We waited about a half hour for our waitress to come and take our DRINK order which also turned into our food order. She never even apologized for the wait. 2. I ordered a cup of soup and when our food finally did arrive, I had to remind the waitress that she forgot it. Again, no apology what-so-ever. 3. My friend and I ordered a steam-pot to share. The only sausage in this steam-pot had a hair in it. Gross. 4. The waitress took our pot with the remaining food away from our table so fast that we didn't even get to tell her that we weren't finished with it. My friend and I looked at each other in vast confusion. 5. The food kind of sucked despite everything else. 6. The waitress took forever to bring out our bill. It was simply a receipt and then she never came back to pick it up. We left exact change and left without waiting another minute. To conclude, don't come here. Period.

We came to Joe's because we had a gift certificate. 30-35 minute wait. Not because they were busy but because they did not have the servers available. They have 3 people at the hostess stand. The hostess told me it is better for us to wait then to be seated. There are 17 available tables in the restaurant. Management should be replaced. Seat your customers and give them a free drink or appitizer. I will think twice next time.

When we arrived with a large group, we were told there was going to be a 30 minute wait. I noticed there was a large empty table available, and should have pointed that out... A few of us went to get some snacks at the grocery store nearby, while others waited for what ended up to be one minute before being seated at that empty table. Not cool. It's not an extremely large space, and it's all open... So I'm not sure how that was missed. They gave us bibs to wear, each with a different fun saying. That was amusing. We all had pots - I shared a garlic herb and a cajun one with my husband. The crab and corn was good. I wasn't a fan of the whole potato that was tossed in there... I would have preferred it to have been at least halved if not quartered to soak up some of the sauce. I wouldn't run back to this place, but it was ok.

Place was a dump . Dirty filthy place. Sat at the bar can I say dirty again. The bathroom urinal pads were in a bucket on the floor next to the urinal. Amazing no one has been killed yet . It really needs a reality tv show to go in there and fix it

    (1)
  • Gene D.

Went in thinking there would be no wait because of all of the empty tables. They told us there would be a 20 minute wait because they were short staffed. Really...a 20 minute wait when half of the tables are empty??? Hire some servers. We left.

I took my two boys to Joe's Crab Shack last night as it was one of those restaurants that I always wanted to visit. Firstly the place looked really well thought out with the decor giving the place a real clean and modern look, yet still that beach, hippie, holister look. The waitress approached is right away and we we'd promptly served some soft drinks although the drinks menu has a lot to choose from including various bottled and draught beers and largers as well as a wide range of spirits and cocktails. The menu is bright and contains pictures of all the food on the menu so if your not sure what something is going to be like you won't have a surprise when it arrives. We had a taster platter of little crab balls, calamari and nachos with a crab dish. It was lovely. For the in course my two sons went for the fried salmon and fries and I went for a snow crab. This was served with corn on the cob which was slightly spicy and shrimp. I also has a sausage in the bucket and some potatoes. To finish up I went for the key line pie which is a must if visiting Florida. All in the food was the best I had this holiday, presented well and the waitress was always offering advice on the various crabs and the best way to eat and crack them up. Thy even supplied me with a bib!

Stopped by Joe's on vacation with the family in Florida. I expected the same great food as always. Instead we got terrible service and an order that was completely wrong. Not to mention food that was mediocre at best. We won't be frequenting this Joe's on our next trip.

Wish I could rate ZERO STARS. Quite possible the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. From out of town so we were excited to try out the place. Read reviews and read service was poor. But I gave them the benefit if doubt. So we were sit at a table waited and waited. Had to finally call over a waitress to help us after others were sat and served drinks. I ordered my food and drinks. The waitress brought my son's drink but not mine. Wait long time for food and even longer for my son's dessert. The waitress even came over and asked if I had received my dessert. She disappeared. Long story short I waited for manager to finally get the hell out. Worst of all, I came home and threw up my dinner for the next 4 hours. Would never go back. EVER.

eh, Joes is Joes. The service was ok, food was ok. Everything was just ok. If you've never been then check it out, but if you have a joes then pass on this one and head somewhere different.

This was a 1st time experience for me and the family and it was great. The server, Gaston, was attentive and informative. The atmosphere was festive and the food was great. We all got steam pots and went bonkers!!! The only issue was the margaritas which lacked the kick back I was hoping for. All in all, we had a blast!

The sign here is actually quite deceiving since it says outside "Eat at Joe's" rather than "Joe's Crab Shack". For some reason, my friend thought it was going to be an all you can eat seafood buffet and dragged us all there. Upon arriving at the front, we realized that it was Joe's Crabshack. I was the only one who's ever been to one before so I convinced everyone to stay rather than go on a search for buffet when we were starving. The result was positive. This place has everything you can expect from the Joe's Crab Shack chain except that when I was in San Antonio, they allowed me to customize my menu more. We ordered the Sam Adams in Cajun, but they said they can only do it with a spicy boil. It definitely didnt taste as good. Otherwise, it's what it's supposed to be - bucket of seafood cooked to your liking. They do separate bills!

Definitely one of the WORST place I went to! Had Lobster Bisque, and It was more of Clam chowder flavored and with crab meat NOT Lobster!, Ordered Grilled Lobster/scallops/shrimp platter. Guess what? Lobster was no where grilled, it was either Steamed or Boiled because it was full of water, the scallops was extremely old and very slimy, The shrimp were awful and Charred. My wife ordered Grilled Salmon and It was charred badly and VERY dry. Even their vegetables which was broccoli (I love them) was awful! DEFINITELY WILL NOT GO back and its truly a shame because I am a local not a tourist!

NOT EVEN ONCE. I warn you, don't go. The night started out fine, short wait of 20 minutes and we were in. Our waiter was pleasant and polite. We had drinks in a couple minutes and appetizers maybe 10 minutes later. The night was great until the entrées arrived, first thing we noticed was my sister's crab cake was not cooked on one side, ok no biggie. Then we noticed my father was missing french fries. The waiter quickly fixed the problem, but it only got worst, the new crab cake was room temperature, the fries were lukewarm, and we discovered the stuffed shrimp were bone dry. Once the hush puppies arrived it got real bad. They were all RAW in the middle. We called the manager over and he knocked two dishes off the bill as compensation for our ruined meal. The worst part hadn't even come yet. Once we finally got the bill paid my niece began throwing up the food we had just eaten. She threw up 4 or 5 times before we were finally able to leave. DO NOT GO, this place is insanely overpriced and only good for the ice cubes, run fast, and run far.

Fresh food? Yes, friendly service? Yes, good tasting food? Absolutely not (unless you like sea salt seafood that tastes like fish you just pulled out from the sea). Don't expect to be blowned out of the water with this one- no special or any type of seasoning for that matter. Longhorn seasons their lobster better. Also, wayyyy to expensive- it hurts when you leave your plate full.

Can I give 0 stars? This place has HORRIBLE service. Took us 45 mins to get ONE appetizer, food took 65 mins to come out. No silverware, no refills for an hour, wrong orders, managers answer was to "comp" us an already half-price app. Thanks for the $5... I'm never coming back.

We came to crab shack after a long day at the park. We rolled in unfortunately a little late in the evening but the staff was very nice. Unlike some places that would be annoyed at late comers. Our waitress Nicole was awesome! She was nice and friendly. She definitely made our night after a long day. She made excellent recommendations. Next time in Florida I will make sure to come back to this location.

Went there with 2adults and 2 kids. Not to busy,so we were seated right away. The waiter did a good job,not the best, but good. The seafood appetizer was good. The food was ok.we all had their seafood buckets. I thought a bit over priced. Buckets and 4 sodas 1drink and the bill was $153.00 . Will I be back, not sure.

Food was excellent although our server was a little absent minded and forget the drink order until we reminded her. Overall great food though----Seafood pots were a little pricey.. Up to $50 a pot ( and they were mostly large shells that took up the space)

On vacation and wanted to eat some seafood at a place that is kid friendly. The meal started out like any other with our drink orders being taken then our food order. The calamari arrived and it was rubbery with no flavor and the batter didn't even stick to it. It came with a paper container full of sauce. (Not nearly enough for the meal) We asked for more and 10 minutes later it arrived when the food was cold. Shortly thereafter the entrees arrived. I ordered the lobster and crab legs and my wife a shrimp and fish meal. Again the butter that arrived with my $30 meal was very stingy and the sauces that arrived with my wife's entree were very small. When we ran out of sauce we told our waitress who we had to flag down. She made no effort to check back. After asking; 15 minutes had passed with no side sauces. We asked another waitress for the sides and were ignored. After 25 minutes of waiting our food was cold and I requested to see the manager, not from our waitress but from the hostess. When he arrived he took 10% off the bill and gave us $40 in gift certificates. Funny thing is that we are only here for a week and told him this. The gift certificates came in a $20.00 and 2 $10.00's. Only one can be used per visit. In the next week we would new to eat at this dump 3 more times to get our apology. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

I've always loved this place. The crabs are yummy, especially the corn. Besides, I love when they do their sporadic dances! LoL

  • Sandra N.

This place is a nightmare. Our seafood tasted like it was old, and was definitely not fresh, more like frozen. There's a song over the loud speakers that all the waitstaff dance to, and it's really awkward. We waited an hour for our table, and another hour for the food to arrive after we ordered. Nobody liked it, and there were 12 of us. I swear you'll be better off anywhere else. It's expensive and stupid. I wish I could forget about our experience.

Food was good, a little on the pricey side. We had reservations for 11 @ 7pm, but waited 30 minutes to be seated. Other smaller parties walked in and were told that there was a 40 minute wait. When we were seated, we looked around and half of the tables were empty!

  • Elsa C.

Not impressive at all. It was ok, the service was not great, our food got delivered to the wrong people (that can happen, no big deal) but the waitress was a little grouchy. The crab was ok but fishy and not the quality and freshness I would want - my husband makes way better at home. We had a fine time but wouldn't go back.

  • Alecia A.

THe food here was great & the wait staff were all nice! I ordered the shrimp bucket & the shrimp were SO delicious! My husband ordered the traditional cajun bucket. The dungeons crabs were his favorite, they were full of meat! The corn was amazing, they sprinkle it with Old Bay, YUM!! Every so often some loud music will come on & all the wait staff will do a dance, it was cute! Kids & customers were joining in with them! This is a great sea food place and family atmosphere!

Hands on seafood dining experience, so put on your bib, start cracking those legs and dig in! As others have noted, there are different storefront signs for this restaurant... you will see both "Eat at Joe's" and "Joe's Crab Shack. Both names turns up when you check in on YELP.

First time and loved it. Just had lunch fiancé and I she had coconut shrimp I had Samuel Adams steam-pot can't wait to go back soon and server was great also. Try one of the house mixed drinks with the take home jar you won't go wrong.

  • Joey D.

Our server Jason was SUPPER. Love the added touch of the custom comments on the crab bibs. We are use to going the Joe's in Sacramento, and the Sac Joe's seem to put more crab and crawdads in the pots. This spot is definitely a real clean and fun spot to eat.

looks like this place is called "Eat at joes" not Joe's Crab Shack from the way the name is placed on the building. If your looking for over-priced seafood with a tacky environment with the taste slightly better then a buffet style kitchen then this place is for you!! Can very easily spend about $100.00 for a party of 2 and that is without a lot of adult beverages or non. there is a red lobster 1/4 mile away which is much better. This place does not even offer a piece of bread for free. Service is fair unless they decide to stop what they are doing to go dance for a few min while your food is getting cold waiting on some melted drawn butter.. I do not recommend this place.

  • Karen F.

Vacationing, we thought it'd be fun to take our girls here where I could get crab legs and the staff would be fun and entertaining. It wasn't and they weren't. Got the higher quality crab, and it was dismal. The staff only danced once and it was just 2 of them, very half-heartedly. I wasn't expecting much, but this dipped below my already low expectations.

I don't know what is up with this place. The food is good but the service is very lacking. When we arrived Clarise was there to take our order and drinks, but towards the end of the meal she didn't even deliver our check! It was also impossible to have our dishes cleared. We ended up putting our plates on another table to make room for desert. The thing that really bugged me was my crab legs. There were plenty, but I always expect and enjoy at least one claw. I know it may be picky and I could have lived without it. I mentioned it to Clairse and she said she would take care of it. This created an expectation. Well no one ever came back until a manager stopped by while we were having desert and asked about the issue. He said he would get me one then and there! Really? 15 minutes after I finished my entrée? Again LACK OF SERVICE! It gets two stars only because the food was good.

  • Greg P.

Terrible service. I ordered king crab steamed in the garlic and herb flavor--something they advertise as a standard choice. The crab delivered to the table were "queen" crabs, large snow crabs, and they came with a garlic dipping sauce, an add-on that I didn't ask for or want. I reminded the server that I asked for king crab, and she explained that the "queen" crabs were the same size as the kings and they were cheaper. Why order at all if the server will take the initiative to replace my order with another menu item? Maybe this was a lie she told to cover for her mistake, in the hopes that I'd just take them. When the king crabs finally arrived after the rest of the family was half way through their meals, it wasn't in the garlic & herb flavor. I pointed out to the server and the way she looked at me made it clear she thought I was a difficult customer. Sorry, but in my opinion, asking for an item AS-ADVERTISED and pointing out politely that you didn't deliver after claiming you CHOSE not to bring my order the first time is not being difficult--it's cause for an apology.

We've been to the Joe's in L.A. and this location wasn't any different. It filled up pretty quickly and the server was friendly and efficient. She even gave us tips about Disney World! The food was delicious, fresh and came out quick. All in all a great dinner.
