Just a great fun place to visit and feel like a kid in a candy shop (literally). Best salted caramels I've ever had, and we have enjoyed everything else we've tried, too. A little pricey, but worth it for a little splurge or special occasion. The only downside is the lack of parking. There is almost nothing nearby so you may have to walk multiple blocks downtown in the heat.

I will be the debbie-downer here, but I do not get this place. If you are into CANDY, then ignore my review, but if you are into CHOCOLATE, then read on... When we got in we were told the gourmet chocolates were on the 1st floor and 2nd floor was candy and "everything sweet you can imagine: cookies, cupcakes, you name it". I was excited! The "gourmet" area has small chocolates with odd flavors in my opinion. There was an entire case of flavors I didn't want. They focus a lot on toffee and caramel and super sweet flavors instead of just chocolate. Nothing looked appealing to me at all, and that's saying a lot coming from a chocolate person. Upstairs has a lot of fun candy things for kids, but I didn't see anything I wanted. To be fair, as I've mentioned, I'm not a candy person. I was excited for the ice cream but then saw the limited flavors. There was ONE chocolate flavor and it was literally chocolate. The toppings were pretty limited too, and I was just unimpressed. The cookies and cupcakes galore was 3 of each and none were homemade I believe. Nothing looked appealing, and I'm the type of person that could sit at a good bakery for hours trying good pastries/desserts. I liked that you could talk to the chocolate makers, and I thought that was a fun perk, but that was pretty much it for me. I walked in and out without purchasing anything, so I can't give this more than a 2. Chocolate lovers you've been forewarned...

This place is awesome. The design, the colors, the displays - a total treat for the eyes. It can make anyone feel like a child again just walking around. I have tried a variety of the candy, and yes, it is very expensive, but the quality shines through. The candy made here isn't for gorging, its for savoring. My personal fave is the sea salt caramel, so superior to any other caramel I have tried in my entire life. (No lie.) This is a must stop for anyone playing tourist in Jacksonville or who just wants really excellent quality candy.

Thought to send out Easter Baskets. Strolling through my bookmarked items I finally make my way out here. The building it beautiful. Learning that it's the old Jacksonville Seminole Club just ensured my Nole heart that this would be a great stop. I live for the sea salt caramels! Caramel clusters, caramel apples, caramel popcorn, etc. I;m just waiting to see when they will pull out the caramel ice cream. I wasn't to thrill about the kitchen tour. I guess my hopes were lost in Chocolate Factory movies. Dark and stormy pop was cool but it you want the real stuff, thankful there's a bar just next door. Sweet Candy shop!

Now the last time we came out daughter was still an infant so she couldn't experience the candy store. But now that she's older was in gummy bear heaven! With all the different flavors and different containers to put the candy in was cool. They have so many different varieties of candies. So if you're a candy lover you will definitely love this place!

Sweet Pete's is like a real life Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. When my sister suggested that we go have lunch at a 3 story candy shop, I looked at her like she was crazy. Once we arrived I was able to understand why she suggested this magical place. We came for lunch on a Saturday (review on the restaurant coming also) and had a 45 minute wait. This gave us plenty of time to explore! The first floor is full of the specialty candies that Sweet Pete's makes (think chocolate covered potato chips, sea salt caramels, artisanal chocolates by the piece). They also sell large chocolate dogs, cats, and high heels (yes, I'm serious). Onto the second floor - this floor is broken into a few sections. There is an old fashioned soda shop in there, which serves cupcakes, cookies, ice cream and of course soda (they had a buffalo chicken flavored soda..yuck)! There is also a traditional candy store section, which sells candy by the scoop. You can also head into the chocolate factory and watch them make candies. Finally, there is an outdoor patio with an herb garden for relaxing and a room with board games. Finally, the top floor - the event space. This spot would be great for a wedding. There were birthday parties going on while we were there and the kids all seemed to be having a great time. As for the sweets: I had part of a sugar cookie, a sea salt caramel, and a dark chocolate peanut butter piece of chocolate. It was all soooo good and I could have stayed and tried other things all day. I will DEFINITELY be back and have my eyes on a cupcake in the future!

For Mother's Day I really wanted to do something DIFFERENT for my mom and siblings. Besides having dinner at Candy Apple Cafe, a photo shoot in front of Sweet Pete's and LOTS of exploration of the Willy Wonka store inside made the PERFECT Mother's Day outing! There's a plethora of artistic and sweet surprises around every corner, and the tantalizing smell of the factory where you can see the workers make the candy made me weak in the knees! I really appreciate Sweet Pete's investing in preserving the old Seminole Club, not to mention it's conveniently in the heart of downtown now! While I haven't had ALL of their goodies, I can't leave the premises without getting some Sea Salt Caramel and some Peanut Butter and Chocolate Meltaways. It's an inexpensive luxury I highly recommend for the special someone in your life OR for yourself! I really want to make it out for their Wednesday Night Porch Parties! They have live music, free samples, and the atmosphere just makes you happy! While I was disappointed with their bland Peanut Butter Chocolate Cupcake, their Thai Ginger ice cream is a MUST for anyone searching for a unique flavor! The muted sweetness is creamy with a punch of pizzazz from the ginger! It's fantastic! Sweet Pete's is RIGHT on top of the list of taking guests from out of town to impress them them with Sweet Pete's whimsical and surreal decorations and delicious candy and ice cream! Can't wait to go back and take a class as well! As Donna and Tom would say, "TREAT YO' SELF!"

I am downgrading to a 2. I went back for lunch again and had really slow service in the restaurant, even slower service in the cafe upstairs (1 person working) and THEN waited 10 minutes to buy 1 more item in the downstairs candy store (Again, 1 person working) PLEASE HIRE PEOPLE SO THAT I CAN COME BUY YOUR CANDY IN A TIMELY MANNER!

Okay, Sweet Pete's! You get the honor of being review #100! I became a fan of Sweet Pete's when they were in their original location on Pearl Street. In a row of historic homes, Sweet Pete's was the rainbow drawing your attention, literally. Fortunately for the city, the shop is now in the old Seminole Club house which has perked up Downtown Jacksonville. Unfortunately for my waistline, the shop is just a quick walk away from my office. First lets chat about the location. The shop has 3 levels a porch for outside seating on the first floor and a balcony on the second level. The main floor houses the chocolate shop and The Candy Apple Cafe. The second floor has other sugar confections, the cotton candy machine, the bake shop/ice cream parlor and a seating area. There are windows on the second floor that look down into the candy manufacturing area. Super fun to check it out. The third floor is an event rental space. And it's actually quite pretty. Complimentary valet parking is available for cafe patrons and the home is disabled accessible thanks to an elevator and lift. Now, on to the candy!!! Pete of Sweet Pete's is one half of Peterbrooke, the local chocolate shop started by his mother. Pete definitely inherited some candy making skills because wow is it good. The shop's signature item is sea salt caramels. They are melt in your mouth good. Never tried them? Go in and ask for a sample. They usually hand them out to new visitors. There is a small selection of sugar free chocolate and candy which is like because I can get quality treats for a diabetic family member. I tried one of their truffles not that long ago. It was good chocolate, but nothing spectacular. I love the sweet/salty combo, so you'll usually find me getting chocolate covered pretzels or potato chips, the sea salt caramels, or gorging on jelly beans from the second floor. There are all kinds of containers if you want to mix and match the loose candy. It's pay by the container, so the small cans are $8 and I was able to stuff in 6 caramels, 6 flower chocolates and 4 peanut butter meltaways. Recently, candy flowers popped up in the shop. They are so pretty, I don't want to eat the candy. Stems are $4-$6 depending on size. No, the prices aren't cheap. But it's handmade high quality sweets. You get way you pay for and at Sweet Pete's it's a fun, tasty indulgence!

I've been into Sweet Pete's a few times now, and I absolutely and positively adore it. I had been waiting on taking my nieces before finally visiting, and the opportunity presented itself when my younger niece's school planned a field trip. She asked me to be a chaperone and the deal was sealed. Sweet Pete's hosts a bevy of field trips and birthday parties. I asked our guide how often and he said they host two schools every day. To schedule a birthday party, you must do it months in advance and not wait, as the list fills quickly. I'm not sure what the birthday parties include, but I should hope some candy making is involved as it was on the field trip. During the field trip, the candy of the day was taffy. We waited for it to hit the prime temperature (something around 240 Fahrenheit) and watched the demonstrators "pull" the taffy before voting on the color and the flavor. After the pullers were done doing their part, the kids were able to mold it, before it cooled too much, into squares and wrap to take home. The kids loved being able to "make" their own candy. Following candy making, the class was brought to a smaller room to design their dream candy and have a story read to them by our guide. The schools don't allow the kids to buy anything, which is understandable, but isn't that usually the best part of the field trip? Luckily, as a chaperone, I was allowed to buy and bring some candy home with us. I think my favorite part is the ice cream and cupcake bar upstairs. It's like being inside an old school soda shoppe. There are tables inside and outside on the porches, and a handful of board games to play. There are also some great craft sodas in the fridge nearby as well. On this same floor is the big candy shop, which is geared towards the kids with bags, boxes and containers for candy by the pound. On the first floor is the more "adult" themed shop with handcrafted chocolates, chocolate covered potato chips, Italian candy flowers, all kinds of candy apples, and gifts. Recently, a nonprofit that I volunteer with was lucky to be allowed to use the 3rd floor event space at Sweet Pete's when our event was rained out in Hemming Park. It truly is a wonderful space for the type of events that we host, and possibly, for others. I could see a small wedding reception and maybe even a Yelp event in this wonderful space. Much is to be said about the revamp of this beautiful historic building, too. I didn't see what it looked like prior to the Sweet Pete's takeover, but it is wonderful to look up at the building from the outside and see it packed to the gills during ArtWalk.

We brought our 4 year old daughter here this past week for the first time and she LOVED IT!! I think we as the parents loved it more than her! Lol When you walk in there is a candy store to the right and a restaurant/bar to the left so great for happy hour, dinner, weekend brunches. You go up the stairs and it's a whole floor of candy, toys, gifts, Icecream bar, window to watch the bakers make the candy, outside seating to play board games free. On the third floor ( I didn't go up there) but it looked like is where they teach the candy making classes so this would be perfect for Kids Birthday parties. We had the chocolate icecream and took home the peanut butter and chocolate candies. This place was so much fun and makes you feel like a kid again. We got to meet Pete and he was really nice too! It's really nice to see owners involved and walking around and making sure the customers are happy and having fun!

What an awesome place to visit. The store is so colorful and smelled so sweet! There's candy, chocolate, memorabilia, ice cream, and whatever you can think dessert everywhere. There's 3 stories of eye candy and then some. The tour is pretty cool. You can smell the chocolate in the air when you check out the deck area. We are at the candy cafe during a weekday lunch. You'll need a reservation for indoor dining. There was a 45 min wait for outdoor dining -1st come 1st serve area. We walked around Heming park before they texted that our table was ready. The food too forever to come out but well worth the 30 mins wait. I ordered the Reuben- tasted really good. The kids grilled cheese was crispy and buttery. The French fries came out fresh and hot. I could taste the Rosemary on it! Service was great. Overall great place to check out since being featured on The Prophet show!

It is so cool that something like this is in Jacksonville. It reminded me of the attraction candy stores that they have in New York or Vegas but with southern charm and more flare! It's awesome that they decided to relocate to an area with so much history rather than building in a cookie cutter commercialized area. Well done Sweet Pete! The 3-story building was formerly the Seminole club. It has all been recently restored while very carefully maintaining the integrity of the building. The place is decorated like something out of a children's illustration book, the ultimate chocolate shop really. There is a photo-op in every corner of this glorified shop! I recommend taking one of the fun classes. Since I have a couple of chocoholics in our household we decided to take the "Chocolate Bar Your Way" class. It was about a hour long which included an interesting science lesson about chocolate, learning how chocolate is tempered, customizing and decorating three of your own chocolate molded bars, a tour of the factory and a scoop of ice-cream of your choice in their parlor. Their most popular class is the "Hand pulled lollipop" class. I'm told you have to book as much of advance as possible. Bookings must be made online at sweetpetescandy.com/page… to guarantee you a seat. I will say the place was crowded and a bit overwhelming to find out where exactly the classes were being held. Therefore knowing exactly where go would have been helpful beforehand. Make sure you stop at one of the first floor cash registers so that you can check in for the class and get your sweet pete sticker. Proceed up to the 3rd floor (there is an elevator for wheel chair accessibility) where a cute chalkboard sign will indicate you to go to the room on the left. Also, make sure you give yourself plenty of time to find parking. There is also a full service restaurant called "The Candy Apple" we didn't get a chance to go on our first visit but you can be bet we'll be back!

This place was so very neat! I wish we had one of these in California!! The place is 3 stories and each room had different types of candy. They also have a tour if their candy factory and they have classes upstairs to make candy.

A candy lovers paradise!! The decor is whimsy chic(is that a thing?) and they have every candy you can think of...from their own candy they make on location, to all the candy you grew up on. They also have a restaurant I havent tried yet, and the top floor is for event and classes.

It's so exciting to have a new location for Sweet Pete's. I am a longtime patron of the other location and couldn't wait to see it. I took advantage of their special opening for Artwalk and fell in love all over again. There are 3 floors; however, only two were open for Artwalk. The first houses the cafe and retail area. The second houses a desert bar, retail space, event space and factory tour area (overlook where they make the chocolate). I love the outside porch area (both floors). They had a band and cocktails on the first level. I'm looking forward to their brunch and Wednesday porch events. The candy is superb and it's great they have candy other than chocolate (not big on sweets, especially chocolate). While there my BF and I purchased the strawberry gummy bears (yum), chocolate covered hazelnuts and chocolate covered peanuts. I'm sure everything was gone in 48 hours. LOL! SN: I remember telling my BF that this location would be great for an engagement party. ;) Shameless hint, huh?!

Visiting Jacksonville from my home, Tucson, Arizona, and stopped into Sweet Pete's to check it out. Incredibly unique! A candy store where Dr. Seuss meets Willy wonka. My cousin and I walked around in awe at the colorful yet tasteful design of the three story building filled with candy and other treats (most of which are made right on site!). We spoke with the staff, whom are as sweet as their candy, about their unique offerings such as odd flavored sodas. The son of Pete, the owner, works there. He is about 13 and has the business down already. After walking by the restaurant many times we decided to eat there for lunch. Again, amazing. Service was perfect and the menu has something for everyone. Love this place. It brightens up this area of Jacksonville. A MUST see.

Just pure Love!!! Sweet Pete's is a wonderful addition to the downtown area! I just think its the coolest place, they bought an old three story building and renovated it into a willy wonka candy factory! Young and old alike will love how playful and fun this place is, they have tours also where you can see them making the wonderful candy! And the sea salt caramels are just heaven! Just go, see for yourself! :)

Addictive and unforgettable. It's like being invited into a Technicolor movie and tasting the berry flavored wallpaper. I adore the colors, the aromas, the chandeliers and the people. Sea Salt Caramels call my name every time I set foot in that fine establishment. The goods sold on the 2nd floor cupcake cafe are as delish as the manager (Christopher C, I'm talkin' about you). The only think more fun than coming here and scooping out quality candy from brightly hued bins is Trick or Treating--but here, the take home haul is ten time better. My children love it, I love it and am overjoyed they restored a beautiful historic and formerly endangered building into a place that brings joy.

Bravo to this place for stepping it up. This is a great downtown destination that kids will love. A beautiful building, including a restaurant (I reviewed separately) and lots of places to explore. There is a downstairs area with candy packaged more for gifts and adults. Upstairs is cafe area with coffee and delicious deserts. On the second story you can also shop for candy in a really kid family store. I think their sea salt caramels are the best I've had. There are also areas to view the candy making, have parties, and host events. If you go also stop by the new and improved, neighboring Hemming Park.

Sweet Pete's is unbelievable! I've never been to a candy store like it. It truly is like walking into Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. I felt like a big kid!! True, parking downtown can be a issue, but who cares! Once you get inside you forget all about that. If you live in or are just visiting Jacksonville, Sweet Pete's is a MUST SEE destination.

  • Meg H.

Well Done Marcus & Sweet Pete! This building is completely beautiful! I can't even get over how lovely it was! Downtown location is really stunning. Candy is a bit pricy, but you're paying for the experience. Beautiful colors, beautiful building, and delish treats. Parking is a nightmare, but you can't win them all. I wish I had seen Marcus there....but a girl can dream!!

  • Rebecca N.

This place is wonderful! The chocolate and candy lover's dreamy place to explore. They have upstairs also. Be sure to check that out. They do candy making classes. You can have birthday parties. I could spend all day in here. The only bad thing about this Candy Shop, is the parking is none. Very difficult to find a parking spot close by, or even far away. Just be patient and anticipate that you might have to ride around the block a time or two before you find a legal parking spot. Enjoy and have fun! Make sure you get your complimentary piece of salt caramel taffy.

This new location is stunning. You won't regret the visit. It's fun, colorful, and has such unique and tasty candy. I love the gumballs, chai flavored cotton candy, and the yogurt covered raspberries!

  • Brandie D.

LOVED this place! My child had a field trip there where we watched them make candy cane as they explained the whole process , which was actually very interesting and amazing! We got to shape our own candy canes after they were done showing us the process and that was a big hit with the adults and the kids. It was beautifully decorated and they had an area where they told the children a story and they did crafts. It was educational, interesting, and fun for ALL! I can't wait to go and bring my kids on my own now.

  • Anthony N.

I am definitely excited about this new location. The old Seminole Club building now Sweet Pete's is beautiful as ever. When walking in I am taken back to my childhood. The smell of chocolate and beautiful colors of the Holidays and Sweet Pete's all combined. With multiple floors of delightful modern decor mix with old school flare. Sweet Pete's is a gem that will def. bring the crowds to downtown Jacksonville. With a dessert bar, cafe, great views of downtown Sweet Pete's will be a new favorite hangout of many. I can't wait for the place to officially open.

Sweet Pete's is a fun candy wonderland in Downtown. The whimsy in the place just makes everyone feel happy. The decor is really cool, with a classy, sophisticated Willy-Wonka feel to it. They did a great job. They have tons of candy (of course) as well as some very tasty desserts in the dessert bar and in the restaurant (Candy Apple). The ice cream in the dessert bar was especially nice with some very tasty flavors like green tea and mango. If you have an opportunity to do a candy making class there, you should, especially if you need to entertain some children for a couple of hours. It's really exciting for kids to watch the process and then get to participate. I did the candy cane class and it was really fun to play with the candy and make different shapes with it. Go to Sweet Pete's for a sugar-rushing good time!

Now I have been eating from Pete's family for as long as Peter n Brooke have been alive. Now he has his own place. Let me tell you it is a space too. 3 floors is candy shops, factory, entertaining spaces and a cafe. The place is our own huge Willy Wonka's Factory in Jacksonville. I was able to attend a pre grand opening and get a tour of the place. From the main entrance to the top of the roof the place screams fun and yummy. The chandelier are wrapped up candy presents. The candy is to die for as I remember. I even had to stop back in the next night during Art Walk to get the salted caramels my wife so much. Now I can get those great little bits of Sweet Pete's Candies anytime that I wish and I don't have to wait for a special occasion.

I'm sooo disappointed. Tried to visit Sweet Pete's new location for some of his phenomenal chocolate. There is zero parking. Nothing. Nada. Gave up. Oh sure, you can drive around the city streets looking for a spot, but then you need to carry your purchase (usually chocolate) back to your car in the Florida heat. The lot immediately adjacent to the store is clearly marked as belonging to someone else and that you'll be towed if you park there. Hey Pete! How about either buying some of those spots for your customers or reopening your Pearl Street location which had tons of free parking.

This place is cute!! A little expensive but really cute. My husband took us after we saw is on The Profit. The caramels are pretty yummy and the PB meltaways were creamy and delicious. It was neat to see all the different candies they offer and to see where they make everything. The parking however kinda sucked! We saw a lady back into another car because she couldn't get out :/

Willy wonkas factory in Jacksonville. Tons of candies to choose from, beautifully restored historic mansion, candy classes and more! Definitely a destination worth checking out! Can't wait to see the recently announced expansion next door.

Take your time to feel like a kid again . Wander around the shop and take in all the very interesting and inventive creations. Play in the game room, sit on the balcony . Items may seem a bit pricey but the quality of ingredients is really great, packaging is beautiful and you are supporting a great local business . There are three floors of wonderfuly whimsical displays , tastings and options. You can look right into the kitchen to view the candy makers at work or take a candy making class. A beautiful spot great for people of all ages!

We are huge fans of The Profit and loved Pete's passion! My husband was diagnosed with diabetes and since has given up carbs. He makes two exceptions, Christmas and his birthday. I ordered his favorite treats as a surprise for his birthday. We had a bit of a shipping snafu but I'll tell you, they were amazingly responsive and resolved the issue beyond my satisfaction. Each item was very nicely packaged and looked like a special gem. The shipping packaging was like they were shipping precious cargo. Love Sweet Pete's products, love the service, love the fulfillment of orders.

I've been here three different times in the past three months. This place is like Willy Wonka's dream came true with candy, desserts, cafe, and a bar! Great for children and adults. The food is amazing! Be sure to check out the cafe! Candy is pricy but worth it! I love that it looks like a house on the outside and when you walk in its a new world.

Very disappointed to say that we will not be back. Sweet Pete's used to be a small, specialty location offering hand-made goodies with no artificial ingredients. This is no longer the case. Now, the candy is made offsite and "safe" candy is the exception rather than the rule. The classes have also suffered from this expansion as well. While they have bulked up the educational component, the "personality" of the class has changed significantly, and not for the better. Children are told to sit down and listen rather than reach out and experience. We loved you Sweet Pete, and we are happy for your prosperity. Please remember the formula that got you there, and come back to it soon!

Today was my first time at Sweet Pete's. I absolutely love this candy shop! They have a HUGE selection of unique candy and sweets. They also have fun gifts such as pens, notebooks, toys and room decor that is all candy themed. The strawberry and pineapple gummy bears are so yummy! We were also given a free sample of their sea salted caramel. The staff is friendly and was happy to let us sample anything we wanted. I am planning on coming back to take one of their lollipop making classes with some friends!

Sweet Pete's has the best candy in town. It is fun and colorful and two floors of so many candy choices, you might just overindulge. The salted caramels are the best. I would suggest filling the trays with the scrumptious chocolates on the second floor for the best deal. The dessert bar is okay, but not really my favorite part of the set up. Some nice fresh baked goods, and a great ice cream selections, but the coffee is just regular coffee. With all the other specialty products available, if they offered some candy flavored lattes, this dessert bar would be complete.

I visited the new location in downtown for the first time and I was blown away. It's like a real life Willie Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Colorful, fun, whimsical. I've been to Dylan 's candy store in New York, but Sweet Pete's is more fun. From the chandeliers to the high-back Victorian chairs in vibrant candy colors to the giant lollipops and bumblebees hanging about, their decor has this fantastic flair that merges elegance with candy land. They have a cafe, candy store, candy bar on the second floor and venue space on the third. The cafe is delicious but keep in mind the entrees are more quality over quantity. They also offer a full bar and hold weekly events with specialty cocktails, appetizers and music on their true-to-the-south front porch. And word has it they just got more parking and have dreams of becoming bigger. I can't wait to see what comes and I look forward to signing up for one of their candy making classes.

This is an awesome candy and ice cream store! I highly recommend taking out of town guests here, they will be impressed! I like the top floor where you can look in the "factory"

  • Chris R.

The ambience and building are wonderful. It has the feel of a combination of an old-time sweet shop with a bit of an amusement park thrown in for good measure. The problem is that the ice cream tastes worse than the premium brands you can get at a grocery store. There are many local shops who have much more flavorful and much less ice-y ice cream. And for what you get it is expensive. In short, their ice cream is very disappointing. The candy is pretty neat to see, but some of the bars are quite expensive. On the plus side, the people are quite friendly and nice. Parking is another issue, the sign says there is free valet parking, but note that it says for the cafe, and doesn't mention the rest. So there are good and bad things about it. If you are going for the experience, it is fun. If you are going for the ice cream, don't waste your time. In general, it was entertaining for the kids every once in a while, but not regularly. I hope they can improve the quality of the food and do well downtown because it is a very fun concept.

The atmosphere at Sweet Pete's is great, and the candy is delicious. However, beware of the food in the cafe. Some of the items on the menu are much smaller than you'd expect for the price. For example, the "petite burgers" we're so small that both could fit in my hand (with room!) but were priced at $8, which is just $4 less than the full burger entrée with fries. What's worse is that even after I mentioned that I was disappointed in the item, no manager came to check on our table or address the issue. I had high expectations for the restaurant after having such a positive experience in candy making classes and in the rest of the shop. The restaurant definitely needs work to catch up to the rest of the place.

The new Sweet Pete's is amazing! The atmosphere is perfect. You have various options - Old Fashion Ice Cream Parlor with cookies and cakes too, two different candy shops, the factory / kitchen and of course Candy Apple Cafe! Great place!

There's so much candy here it's insane! The variety is incredible! They have candy they have made themselves in their kitchen (which visitors are allowed to view), as well as candy from other brands. There is a cafe in the store with delicious food, and an ice cream parlor on the second floor! On the third floor you can even learn how to make candy (I did a taffy-making class).

My boyfriend and I rarely get a chance to go out...we decided to do the candy and cocktails. .what a disappointment. The class was so large there was barely any hands on...plus...lollipops and taffy don't seem too mature...we paid $70 to drink a couple of beers and be irritated

Very pricey but this candy joint is super appealing to the naked eye. Colorful interior and more candy choices than anywhere else other than maybe Willy Wonka. Awesome dessert choices and ice cream bar too!

Saturday evening with friends: The ambiance in this place is very appealing. The candy is great but the line for ice cream was 45 minutes long. The food is only so-so. If you're coming for dinner don't come too hungry! The portions are very small and for the prices, it's only OK. I was disappointed with my barely 3 oz slice of meatloaf and potatoes but at least we had something pretty to look at. .

This place is a kid's dream come true. They have just about every candy imaginable. For you chocolate lovers, I recommend the salted chocolate caramels. We had brunch at Candy Apples and then moved to the candy section. Brunch was incredible. I had a turkey Reuben w sweet potato fries and it was great. We decided to get candy next door for dessert. I would highly recommend this place for adults and families. You can always bribe your kids to eat all their food and they will be rewarded w candy for dessert.

Its a two story candy store and Candy Apple Cafe is located inside. They have all kinds of chocolates and candies. It would be like being at Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory for any kid. I ended up getting some cookie dough chocolate and brownies balls. They have ice cream and cupcakes upstairs as well as lots of candy choices. They weigh the candy by the pound and they have all kinds of cute containers you can put the chocolate and candy in.

We stopped in while at the Art Walk last week.. I'm not really into sweets but the Mrs. was in sweet heaven. Bought her a few pieces and she plans on returning for the full experience.

After scheduling and paying for a lollipop class online, a conflict in my schedule arose. I went to the website contact page and asked to switch to a different date. I didn't receive a response, so the next day I called. I was told there's a 72 hour notification requirement to change a class date, so I was out of luck. I understand that businesses need to have policies and procedures, but it helps to make these clear so that customers can comply accordingly. I could not find anything on the website, the online scheduler, nor the reminder email that discussed anything about class date changes or quantity of hours required.

This place is such a gem! We visit for every holiday to check out the latest decor and of course, buy sweets! My husband's Christmas party was held there last year and we had a ball! Everything is always done right. Thanks Pete and crew for having such a cool spot in Jax.

I've been frequenting this business since they were in Springfield. I'm sad that they moved but the new place is way better for business... It was packed when I went! Two stories of sweets, the packaging is much nicer, a ton more employees, a dessert bar... I'm happy to see that they're doing so well! That being said, I do have to admit that I felt a little overwhelmed by all the variety of candy... Even selling non-handmade mainstream stuff like Gummi Bears and Nerds. Also, when I went to buy a custom box of chocolates, I was disappointed that the size of the chocolates were MUCH smaller... Guess they have to watch their profit margins but man, it's noticeably smaller :/ And they didn't have very many choices but perhaps they were running low that day. I'd definitely come back and recommend this place though. I'd like to try their ice creams as they seem to have new flavors. Yay!

I had the white chocolate caramel apple, case caramel pecan cluster, peanut butter and salt caramel candy, vanilla milkshake and vanilla ice cream. I also ordered the white chocolate caramel pecan apple. you'll have to prepay for that and they will make it for you and let you know when to pick it up. The ice cream was ok. Cold stone's ice cream is better. I will be back.

I absolutely adore this place. I previously visited the business in the old house, before they moved. I am so glad to see how well they have done! They now have a restaurant, The Candy Apple Cafe, that I am looking forward to visiting. The candy store is HUGE. Imagine IKEA as a candy store. You're welcome. :) When you arrive, they offer samples of the caramel sea salt. Do it. Again, you're welcome. On the second floor they have an ice cream parlor (I had the Thai coconut - yummo) several more candy areas, and an outside porch with hydroponic plants. Next to the cash register on the right, on the second floor, they have an area where you can look down and watch the candy making. The THIRD floor is absolutely gorgeous. This is where they have events, parties, and classes. Next visit, I will take pics. I was a horrible Yelper and my battery was low on my phone.

We saw the episode featured on cnbc and had to see the new place. What an amazing experience! The candy is really delicious and made fresh and the choices seem to be endless! The decor is so creative and there are so many places to take pictures. The food here is delicious! I got the veggie burger and it was great... Highly recommended coming here for a unique experience :)

Candy Apple Restaurant is attached,Great food, loved their house tomato basil bisque & dipping their tempura sweetpotato fries in it. The chocolate/caramel/ candied apple comes sliced up on a plate for you, soooo good & keeps very well as left overs. The ice cream is some of the best I've ever tried (bananna & tai ginger) We're now at Disney & my 6yr old keeps talking about wanting to go back....

Brought the kiddos to check out Sweet Pete's today and it was so much fun. The new Seminole Club location provides so much usable space compared to their old location. It was a spectacular visit to jacksonville a live version of Willie Wonka's world. There are 3 floors-- 1st floor houses the full service restaurant shared with some space housing a variety of Sweet Pete's confectionary concoctions. The 2nd floor has more candy, toys, a cotton candy machine, an outdoor open air sitting area as, the ice cream parlor and an air conditioned Florida room with board games and tons of sitting space for all. You can also take a glimpse into the "factory" to see candies being made LIVE! The 3rd floor is for the classes and parties! The food at the restaurant was over the top fantastic. I did t expect such gourmet food at a candy shop! Btw, they have a full bar too. The short rib meatloaf was SO good--- the Reuben sandwich was SO good--- the kids' grilled cheeses and mac n cheeses were SO good! They serve brunch all day as well so my 5 yr old ordered his 3 eggs, sunnie side up, and gobbled it up! Our server was awesome--- he made great suggestions and was prompt with everything. We also had their escargot as a starter. Yep, snails at a candy shop! To my utter surprise, it was really good! Even my kids ate them up even after knowing what they really were. The only negative from the restaurant was the hostess--- she wasn't very nice and was visually perturbed at us for not having made a reservation for our larger group ahead of time. We moved up to the 2nd floor and the kids got to go to town on selecting their goodies. We spotted the cotton candy machine and ended up with strawberry and peppermint cotton candy baggies. I opted to try the Thai coconut ice cream from the ice cream parlor--- warning: what makes it thai is the strong ginger bites embedded within. It's one of those "you either love it or hate it" flavors. They also have mochi ice cream and a variety of cookies and cupcakes. Needless to say, the entire 3 hour visit was highly memorable. Will be back for sure!

Pete's episode of The Profit is my all time favorite. I just had to have some candy from the mad scientist, so ordered the Salted Carmel. No bars hold, this is the best carmel I have ever had in my life. I will definitely be ordering as gifts for special occasions for friends and fam. Thank you Pete and the rest of the gang that makes these treats so special. I can taste the love.

I was underwhelmed by the entire experience. It was very disorganized when entering. We were told the wait would be 20-30 minutes. After 30 minutes, we went up again and were told it would be another 20-30 minutes. Left but were texted 5 minutes later (after walking back to our car). Our appetizer came out after our main courses. Food was good but not great. We received wrong drinks multiple times. Seems that they need to work on service. Also, they had some super loud, obnoxious employee that was in the front scaring us and many of the children around (too much sugar?). I have to admit this was somewhat amusing.

Soo happy someone finally took over the old Seminole club. The place looks fantastic and is a welcome addition to the downtown scene. Some of the candy has gotten a little too expensive, but I'm sure the overhead of the location is a monster.

Great place for kids and adults! A bar for the adults and a candy floor for the children. They have candy that's familiar for the average candy eater, and some rarely heard of candies for candy fanatics. Only bad thing is the wait for your entrée at the first floor, but everything else is great!

This place is absolutely amazing for kids and adults. We ears about this place before and I saw pictures from others but never had a chance to visit until last week. And OMG, that was absolute blast! Kids called it heaven, and my friend and I were in the complete awesome trans from candies, fruit slices, caramel sweet and salty candles that the girls were giving us to try :))) This place has tree floors with different things to see, to do, and to try. You should try it too!!!

Always excited to support local businesses. Having been a past customer of sweet Pete's, love their products but business know how...so-so. We went to have lunch in the new cafe, which I know is owned by different people. Food was good quality, but a couple misses. Our server was lacking. After taking our order, it was about 10 mins before he brought my husbands soda. When the food was brought out, my child was missing his side of fruit. The waiter didn't say anything, but I waited a couple of minutes in case it was being brought out after. When I saw it wasn't coming I flagged him down and his response wasn't "oops, sorry" but more like he was doing me a favor by going to get it. It was still some time, so I flagged another server whose response was more appropriate and she brought it out before the guy finally came by with it. When he saw it was already there, he didn't even say anything. One note on the food: I ordered an omelet which, for $9 I would think should have some sort of side. It was a very small portion. I'm not a huge eater but even I was still hungry. A little fruit or potatoes wouldn't hurt. On the sweet Pete's candy store side: we love the sea salt caramels, which they are known for. We were disappointed to find they were out of them. That would be like Peterbrookes being out of the chocolate popcorn. You should always have your staple item on hand! The place is adorable and it was busy. It's good stuff and would be great for the area. I wish them success.

One word-Mesmerized! The ambience of this establishment is warm and inviting. It really brings out your inner child. There is a plethora of sweets and treats to choose from...you just can't go wrong. The salted caramel is a guaranteed delight to the tastebuds. Decor is super chic and fun. Truly the happiest place on earth! Can't wait to try the candy making classes next time. Def a must visit if you are in Jax :)

Loved Toddler time at Sweet Pete's! My 4 year old (and myself) enjoyed filling up our own bags of candies from their large selection!! It is truly a unique experience at Sweet Pete's. Nothing like your typical candy shop. So much fun for kids and adults alike!

Came for a field trip with the school I work with. Our school happens to be school for special needs students. We were treated awfully. The place was horribly disorganized, the building wasn't ready for patrons (construction crews were in and out and there was wet paint on the walls), and they put us off to the side several times while other school groups got to complete various activities. We did not enjoy ourselves and definitely won't be back.

This location is very cute and has lots of potential. I do not believe they were prepared to be open. There is no signage downstairs directing you to what is upstairs. There is a desert bar upstairs and we ate in the enclosed porch area. It looked like they have classes in that area and there were bags on the floors and tables. There was candy making equipment that children has access to touch. They were out of most desserts. The gentleman said they would have more cupcakes next week. Do they not make all the deserts? We hope to go back when they are more established in this location.

My girlfriend and I saw Sweet Petes on the reality TV show, The Profit on CNBC, and we decided to try out Sweet Petes and ordered some chocolate and caramels online. Wow. Their caramels were by far the best I have ever had. Ever. I just ordered my 3rd batch as a present my girlfriend's stepfather and now he's hooked! The chocolate is "okay" - nothing special there, but we will definitely be buying large boxes of caramels pretty regularly. Definitely recommend their caramels!

Used to be a regular customer at old location, was so excited to see the new location. First finding parking was a pain. Parked in the sweet Petes lot, went in and asked where we should Park, then the lady at the counter said "you can't Park there" when we told her where we parked. She didn't seem happy at all to have us. Then we noticed the candies that you used to be able to bag as you like we're only available in cubes, more expensive and less flexible. I had to nearly beg to figure out how to get pecan turtles which were hidden behind the cabinet. The employees seemed almost arrogant as we tried to figure out how to get individual candies. Then when we left another employee outside lectured us again for parking in the sweet Petes lot. Overall I guess the new location may be better suited to mail order and large groups, but the individual experience pales compared to the old location. They just didn't seem to want us there.

I had a great time here. Sweet Pete's is in a gorgeous, whimsically decorated building with so much to look at, taste, explore, and enjoy. The candy is top notch and there's sooo much of it!!! Lots of interesting and delicious choices. I'm excited to take a candy making class, grab a bite at the Candy Apple Café, and try more candy (obvi!!).

Was just in sweet Petes and was so excited to try them. Went and saw where they were making candy and a worker without gloves grab some of the White chocolate pieces and did into the dark chocolate that was being used for the candy apples. Again NO GLOVES!! She put the pieces in her mouth and then dipped another he's with the hand she just put in her mouth. and then walked out.... So gross and we could not eat there after seeing that!! So upsetting and a huge let down....
