Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I recently discovered Safe Harbor but mayport is too damn far...aint nobody got time fo dat. My fellow nommer Ant C. told me about Sid and Linda's and turns out Sid and Linda ran Safe Harbor for 23 years then branched off for their own lil spot. The difference is Sid and Linda feels like home...it feels like diners drive ins and dives when they hit a hometown spot. I came on a friday night and it was packed not too packed but steady AF. We walk up and they wrote my name on a receipt, people are ringing the bell showing they loved the food, damn near every customer was a regular they were hugging the servers, the owners, damn fam reunion in that bit! The owners were walking around and making sure everyone was good. It feels like fam cuz it is fam all of the workers are family or friends of friends. anyways on to the noms the 1st time i went i got 2 choice basket with hush puppies but i subbed the coleslaw for the spinach cake. I tried my friends coleslaw and damn its great. Its perfectly sweet, and i like the texture/mouthfeel TWSS, Its cut into tiny squares like a brunoise cut if you wan to get fancy. I dont usually eat coleslaw but i fux with this one. Sid and Lindas/Safe Harbor both have the best scallops. IMO their blackened is too salty, grilled is just right! The grilled shrimp is bomb too. You can also have them clean and cook a whole fish from the market...which is on my to do list. OH man the dozen oysters for $10 is a steal..them thangs are massive. Check out the wheel of fortune pic i posted. In the end, S&L's seafood game is mad strong. There's so much more that I need to try like crab cakes, whole fish fry, crabs, peel n eat shrimp, the list is endless. If don't feel like drivin to Mayport come to S&L's and get you some seafood.

I had a craving for a sunny beach day and looked out the window. No luck. I had a craving for fried clams. Came straight here. Tasty battered golden fried clams with tarter sauce, side of fries, and chopped coleslaw. Huge basket for under $10 that made sitting in traffic enjoyable. And then the hush puppies (drool). Before Sid's I haven't enjoyed a sweet corn hush puppy outside of south Florida. Food is so fresh you would think there was a body of water right outside their kitchen. Every time I'm in you always see larges groups devouring large amounts of their food or people picking up huge orders. It's really hard to every go wrong. Just grab a to go menu and start ordering from the top working your way down. Service is nice and friendly and food is always a hit.

My husband and I love this family owned restaurant. We consider it the best "easy made" seafood in town that's also easy on the wallet. If casual dining isn't your thing, you will have to venture out elsewhere that's much pricier for the same type of food. Sweetest family ever, never disappoints! The crab savannah soup always hits the spot!

Ok I have heard and read about this place for like ever. So today traveling around after church I was thinking diner food or riverside? The great dilemma try something new or good to where I know there is good food. The Yelper side of me screamed NEW NEW try something new. So Sid n Linda's hit my brain as I was pulling into another place we haven't eaten at. Don't you hate that when that happens. You are in the parking lot and your brain says NO and you flip the B***h and head another way. Well on this trip we walked into Sid n Linda's and greeted right away. Sit where you like the young lady said. We did and we were hustled our drinks. Looking over the menu I thought it was quite smaller then I would have thunk. But we ordered and waited for our food. We did the normal check in as all good Elite Yelpers do. when our food arrived it sure looked yummy. The wife had the salmon which was absolutely fabulous I heard from that side of the table. My side didn't do so well. First my trio of shrimp, oysters, and scallops were I'm not sure. They were hard not over cooked hard. but, old hard not tender at all. I know seafood and I know when it's overcooked and not fresh. But, this stuff was just tough and not just the shrimp. The scallops were also tough also. The oysters were good but greasy. I know that they were fried in oil and would have some oil left but. So I did eat my food but I don't know if I will return with other places closer to home and better too. Sorry Sid.

I am thankful I was invited to this family owned restaurant by a friend. Since I love Tacos I had to order the shrimp tacos. The cole slaw was perfectly prepared with the grilled shrimp that was seasoned excellently. Of course had to have dessert also. Mmmm. Very Friendly atmoshere. Very Very Clean. Will return soon with others..

Great food. Fresh seafood. Fantastic staff. Awesome owners. Good prices! And I can't forget the oysters, they're huge. Did I mention the scallops? And the fish tacos... Everything is good.

We went Sunday for lunch and this place got busy after we sat down. It's a cool combination of fresh seafood market and restaurant without the salt, fishy smell. We had the fish tacos. They were ok, but the 3-item platter (calamari, blackened shrimp, and crab cake) we ordered was great! I also enjoyed the seaweed salad. Nice and friendly service. Reasonable prices. Drinks are only $1.95. We will come back next Sunday :).

Sadly, I was disappointed with my order....Ordered the Fried Shrimp Basket, which came with 12 shrimp, fries, cole slaw, and two hush puppies. The shrimp was obviously not fresh, bland, and very tough and chewy. I only finished about 4 until I couldnt eat anymore. The fries, cole slaw and hush puppies were ok. It was a Saturday afternoon, but from all the good things I read here in the reviews, it must have been just a bad day.

Was heading home on Kernan and decided to pull over and try something new for lunch. I'd passed this place by many times not realizing it was not just a seafood market. So glad I pulled in! The hostess, Lindsay, was super welcoming as soon as I walked in the door. I was looking to order something to go so she handed me a menu and a gave me the run down. I decided to go with the fried Basa sandwich with fries and hushpuppies. The Basa was perfectly fried, well seasoned, and lightly battered. I love the roll it was served on. The hushpuppies and fries were tasty as well. Next time I look forward to dining in and branching out with some of their other tasty dishes.

You do NOT want to go here!!! It's too good for your own good!!! LOL I'm so excited to see that the co-owners of Safe Harbor opened up their own restaurant close to me!!! (Yes, they did it just for me lol Jk). I have to restrain myself because I can easily spend a lot of money in their restaurant or on their FRESH seafood. So far, we've had: - crab cakes: one is all you need! Big and stuffed and perfectly fried :) - fried fish: perfectly fried and not greasy... how do they do it?! - fried shrimp: big shrimp!! - fried calamari: yummy!!! - fried oysters: yes!!! LOVE - hush puppies: perfect!! - coleslaw: never liked coleslaw like this before! Ok I'm a fan, especially of the 2-basket meal, which comes with 2 choices of seafood, fries, and coleslaw. You can sub the sides for an additional cost, but I'm a sucker for those fries! You can also order a la carte. Or you can buy the seafood yourself and create a meal at home -- mMmmm seafood boil :) Next, y'all know how important it is for me to leave a restaurant NOT smelling like the restaurant and food I ate. They have great ventilation :) There's a window looking into the prep area and kitchen. The team takes care to keep the areas clean and sanitary as much as possible :) Finally, the seating is a problem. Think French Pantry. I betcha there'd be a line outside if they limited their service hours!!! Good news is that they do plan to expand their seating space, so hopefully they'll have that done soon. Ok now what are you waiting for? Go enjoy!!! :)

The shrimp Taco's are the best I've ever had. So is the coleslaw. They also have fresh fish inside the store for sale- straight from mayport.

  • Tee B.

I walked in and I walked out. Why? Because I stood idly in front of raw fish counter for with no help, I ceased my decision to purchase anything. I'll just leave it at that.

I love this place. I alway say I am going to try another item on the menu, but I always go for the clamstrips and broiled scallops. Ask for the key lime butter for the scallops, they don't give it out anymore because people were wasting it, but it's so worth it!! My drool-worthy item I always upgrade to is the spinach cake. I have to have one at least once a week! I also get the upgraded shrimp mac. It's a cold pasta salad, but it is delicious. I also buy my fresh seafood from them at their market too. Great find in the neighborhood and our absolute go to place!

As many others have reported, we too experienced wrong order, below average service. I ordered fish and salad and received fries instead. I advised server of wrong dish and she said she'd be right back with seaweed salad. Fully 5 minutes later still no salad. I got up and spoke to mgr. He immediately brought out my salad. Then check charge was wrong....they charged me for a basket, which includes fries, and for a side order of salad. My server was to substitute the seaweed salad for the coleslaw & fries. Food was otherwise prepared well. Blackened grouper w spinach for one and with seaweed salad for the other. I observed other tables experiencing issues too. One table of two got their order fully 5 minutes apart. Others were waiting for condiments. Service is very slow.

It's a family restaurant: food is best for every member of the family, prices are family affordable, and service is served as if you're a long-lost loved member of the family. My most favorite restaurant to eat at in Jax!

  • John R.

Great place, simple, but great flavor and friendly service. Prices are good too. If you good fresh food and are not more interested in the scenery, this is the place. Try the blackened mahi with glaze. It just melts in your mouth.

After hearing EVERYONE rave about this place, we decided to give it a go. WHAT HAS MADE US WAIT SO LONG!!!! It's not fancy, but the food is simply spectacular! For Lunch, I tried one of the Chef's dishes, Ginger Garlic Shrimp. The sauce was amazing, it comes with Cole slaw, green beans, hush puppies and an additional side of your choice. The Spinach Cake was recommended and It was a wonderful crispy patty full of cheeses and chopped spinach. My husband doesn't even like cooked spinach and he ate as much as I did! The Green Beans were so good I would go in and just order them!!! Stir fried with onions and tomatoes. AWESOME! The shrimp were cleaned well and very fresh. My husband ordered the fried fish basket. His fish was so fresh and flaky. A light batter means the fish stands out!! His came with fries, hush puppies and cole slaw as well. The wait staff is awesome, friendly and helpful. The wonderful smell of seafood fills the place. A steady stream of people filled the seating area and a number of take out orders were placed, and this was well after Noon. I can not stress how hard it is to find a place that legitimately sells fresh seafood...I'm told the owner is a fisherman and I'd believe it. Don't wait, GO!!

When my husband and I want to treat ourselves with delicious fried fish and oysters, we come to Sid and Linda's. We always experience great service with a smile and extremely fresh seafood.

  • Beka L.

We had been looking for a local seafood place that served fresh seafood from Mayport and this place fills the bill. The service is sometimes slow, but the staff make it up with the sunny personalities. The food is wonderful and fresh. I love the blackened snapper tacos and the shrimp and scallop basket. Hubby always gets the blackened snapper basket with green bean medley. Highly recommend.

  • Tressi J.

Pretty darned good! The spinach cakes are a standout! I also had the fried shrimp and oysters, which were also good. I reserve 4 and 5 stars for when my socks are blown off, so this didn't get it.....but food is delicious none the less. If I lived in Jacksonville again, I am sure I'd frequent this place.

  • Mona E.

We started with the crab dip which I highly recommend. It is a good portion and full of real crab. The iced tea passed my Southern test, I.e. it is clear and not made from powder! I had the shrimp and oyster basket. The shrimp are a little tough but the flavor and breading amount are absolutely right. My husband had the flounder basket, fresh and delicious. my only regret is they were out of the seaweed salad. Sold out at 2pm, because it is so good. Next time, and there will be a next time.

  • Caron S.

Good, fresh food at a fair price. Excellent friendly and attentive service. Large portions. Very clean interior. Perfect for a casual lunch or dinner (and kid-friendly). Pros: - The spinach cake as a side item is a must! (think crab cake but spinach + asiago cheese + bread crumbs) - The wild caught mahi mahi with Hawaiian glaze was enough for two meals and comes with fresh green beans, two hush puppies, and a generous side of slaw -- all for $14.95! - The New England clam chowder was full of clams and thick and creamy. - The seafood market inside the restaurant had quite the variety of fresh fish and seafood. Cons: - Wish S&L was closer to home!

Best place ever!!!!!! I would drive from anywhere just to visit this restaurant. It feels like home!!!! Food is AMAZING

  • Amanda F.

Just okay. Nothing to really rave about. Most of the seafood was extremely fishy. The service is okay, everyone is nice. Decent prices, but overall experience just okay. The batter they used on the fried fish has a weird flavor. I don't know if the oil was bad or they use a lot of garlic.

I admit straight out that I love this place! I believe it is the best casual seafood restaurant in Jacksonville. I have tried most of the items on the menu. The scallops, either blackened or fried, are the best medium-sized scallops I have had in this town. The fried oysters are superb. While I prefer fried shrimp at a few other places (Seafood Express, or the famous fried shrimp places in St. Augustine), they are lightly breaded and very good here. The fish really impresses me. Though it is the least expensive fish they have, the basa is excellent, and such a mild fish best shows off Sid & Linda's own blackened seasoning. I also have enjoyed every other fish on the menu. Also, I was lucky enough to walk in one Sunday when they had prepared poke for the day, off the menu ("poke" is marinated, cubed ahi tuna and is a staple food in Hawaii and on other Pacific islands. I believe that Sid & Linda originally are from Saipan) While the french fries are excellent, now I am in the habit of paying the $1.95 upcharge to substitute a huge portion of grilled green beans for the fries. I cannot describe properly how excellent these green beans are! They are some of the most perfectly cooked vegetables at ANY restaurant in Jacksonville, and are such a healthy accompaniment to the seafood! The hushpuppies are better than at most places. Please remember that this is a casual place. Most employees are family members or friends. Sid & Linda are always there and often walk around to talk to friends and customers. They clearly love what they do and the service they provide. I understand that servers occasionally make mistakes, especially at busy places like this. I understand the disappointment when a mistake is made with an order. But the tantrums some reviewers throw when they have to wait for their food at a busy restaurant, or when a mistake is made, are entirely out of proportion to the mistake, in my opinion (it's called "making a mountain out of a mole hill"). I refer to some of the Yelp reviews that seem to regard any mistake as an intentional, personal insult by the busy waitstaff.... I have eaten here 10 times. There was one mistake (they brought fries instead of the green beans I ordered). They took care of it. Big deal! This is a casual, inexpensive, family-owned restaurant that serves superb, fresh, well-prepared seafood and side dishes. Enjoy!

We have been to Sid and Linda's a few times and have been very pleased. I've had the ginger shrimp, it was excellent and the fish tacos are great. My son lives scallops and says they are the best in Jax and the blackended shrimp, grilled shrimp and grilled fish were all well enjoyed by our other family members. Prices are good.....fresh seafood and fish counter is amazing and great prices. Have tried to go to Safe Harbor but the line was so long it looked like a line for a Disney ride and everyone kept telling us that it was worth the wait, but i don't do lines like that for a meal. But we will try it again. Sid and Linda and their daughter Linsdey are friendly and hard working people! I definitely recommend Sid and Linda's!

Sid and Linda are A+! Their seafood salad (baked, not fried!) is unbelievable. I highly recommend them to anyone. Taste and enjoy!

My boyfriend and I went here a couple of weeks ago - sorry it took so long to write this review. If you are looking for fine dining and a romantic setting, this is not your place. If you're looking for fantastic seafood, out-going staff and a very laid back, easy going, kid friendly atmosphere - look no further. We met both Sid and Linda and fell in love with them instantly. They made you feel like family and it was so easy to get caught up in their love for food. We recommend their scallops with green beans and the crab soup. We purchased soup out of their freezer to take home with us and it was amazing! Please give this place a try - well worth our time and money.

Love this place! Great place to get fresh seafood. The food is really good and the atmosphere is good as well. Love the fact you can get fresh seafood to cook at home as well.

This is my local spot to get my seafood fix. The owners used to run the restaurant at Safe Harbor in Mayport. Same food, same people, same prices. It's good and that's why I keep coming back. Servers are always nice and Sid the owner comes out and talks with the customers. You can even buy fresh seafood if you decide you want to try cooking it and smelling up your house! They are supposed to be expanding real soon so more yelpers can enjoy the experience. I do miss the view of the water though.

We stopped for dinner last month on our way from Orlando, FL, to Charleston, SC, on our way home; actually we went out of our way just to eat here again. Although this was only our second visit, we felt like we were visiting family again, friendly service by people who really seem to like what they are doing. Since I hadn't had my Grouper fix I had to order what I had last time, except it was Blackened Grouper Sandwich instead of platter and my wife had a repeat Seafood Salad. The fish was done perfectly, as before, and the sides were great as well. Unfortunately (kidding), I have no reason to change my previous rating of 5-Stars and will be back again anytime we are in Jacksonville (or can fix our itinerary to go through there). As before we got to say hi to Sid & Linda before we had to leave. I almost want to move to Jacksonville just to become a regular here. Still our favorite place for seafood.

    (5)
  • Michael D.

I was really looking forward to dinning here, after all the positive reviews. I ordered onion rings as appetizers, they were nothing to write home about. Then I had the grouper basket. It comes with fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. Coleslaw was the worst I ever had. Everything else was soaked in grease. I don't know if the kitchen staff has changed since the people that gave the great reviews, but the food at this place was down right disgusting.

  • Jeff T.

Fabulous! Great for families! Nice fresh food choices. Everything from fried, grilled, broiled. Love the Spinach Cakes! Staff are very nice. On site fish market too!

    (5)
  • Alfred C.

Really good seafood. Try it grilled of blackened instead of fried. You can even order off-menu seafood in the display cases from the market side and have them cook it for you. Large portions that fill you up. My wife and I typically share a 3-item basket (fish of the day, oysters or clams, and shrimp) plus an appetizer for ~$20.

    (5)
  • Honesty R.

OVERPRICED! Ginger and Garlic Shrimp $17.99! 10 pieces of shrimp, green beans and steam white rice for $17.99. This place is way out of their league. Your better off going to your local Chinese joint. It had good flavor but not good enough for that price. Owners need to bring down their prices and come down to earth seriously.

    (1)
  • Patrick H.

Good experience. I had the shrimp basket. It came with 12 nice sized shrimp. Very plump and tasty. Cooked well. Good hush puppies. Also had shrimp mac. Its a macaroni salad with bits of shrimp. All in all, good meal and good service.

I heard the owners of Safe Harbor had opened a restaurant on Atlantic Blvd. I kept inquiring from everyone I knew where that restaurant was located. No one had heard the same. I am so glad I ran across someones review of this place on Yelp. I never would have located this jewel with the name Sid and Lindas Seafood! I went for lunch with a girlfriend. The place was quite crowded. I saw huge piles of fried seafood being delivered to other diners. The plates all looked delicious. I however decided to try the blackened seafood salad. I was so happy with my order. The fish was fresh and mild in flavor, the perfect amount of blackened seasoning. The scallops were HUGE and cooked perfectly. And the shrimp? Just as delicious. Now I must admit, I am a woman can put away some food :-). The fish and seafood was so abundant, I even had part of a "salad" to take home. Next time I have a craving for fried seafood, I will most definitely go here instead of making the trek to Mayport. Now for the market, someone was spot on when they mentioned that the smell of the seafood market does NOT permeate to the rest of the dining room. Bad part of that being....you may indeed forget they have a ton of fresh seafood options to purchase to take home with you! I've been looking for a place with head on shrimp, calamari, and options of whole fish to take home to grill. I have to look no further. I definitely recommend Sid and Linda's

  • Wes R.

Excellent food for dine in. We had a Fried Shrimp and a Fried Grouper basket. Both were cooked perfectly, and just the right amount of salt. Tried the soup samples and they were Awesome, will be ordering bowls the next time we visit. Speaking of great customer service, we were trying to find fresh fish to cook on New Year's day. We went to Sid and Linda's and saw a sign saying they were closed. As we left with our sad faces on, Sid and Linda walked up from their car, opened the store for us and sold an awesome fillet of Red Snapper. It made our new year's dinner!!! Thanks so much.

Absolutely love this place! I had the chef special blackened salmon with spinach cake. Salmon was cooked to perfection, melts in your mouth flavorful and fresh. My husband had the ginger shrimp w garlic sauce chef special. He's not big on seafood as I am so I was very surprise that he not only liked it but he also wants to go back!!

  • JaneAnne F.

Delicious! We had the pick two with fried shrimp and fried fish. It was lightly battered and crispy. Not at all greasy. My husband had the spinach cake. It was made with spinach, cheese, spices and Panko and lightly fried. Every thing was great and the staff was all very friendly.

  • Virginia M.

I had the fried shrimp basket here. It was pretty good. I love the seafood market attached to the restaurant. The service is friendly as well. I would return to try some soup and tuna salad. I also want to purchase some fresh seafood from the store!

On our last day visiting Jacksonville, we turned to yelp to find a good seafood restaurant. Having already been to Safe Harbor, we decided to give this place a try. We must have been there on an off day or something, because our food experience didn't match up with a lot of these positive reviews. The fried fish was really greasy and the crab cake had been fried too long. The fried shrimp were ok, but the batter didn't have that much flavor. The fries were pretty bland too. I had to add salt to them, and I hardly ever feel the need to salt food after it's been prepared. For us, this place wasn't that great of a dining experience.

    (2)
  • Ginna B.

We really enjoyed it. The spinach cake is very good and different. I got the fried grouper and it was light and fresh. My husband had blackened grouper and shrimp. He enjoyed it and the key lime butter was an excellent addition. The service was excellent. We added two things last minute and they got them right out. We added the green beans because they were so highly praised on yelp. They're basically stir friend green beans with good spices. Other things to note based on other yelp: Their French fries are just French fries. Hush Puppies were good, not amazing Spinach Cake--worthy of praise! We enjoyed it and the wait staff and owners were great!

Before Sid and Linda's opened up, us Intercoastal west folks had to drive all the way to Mayport or the Beaches to get our fresh seafood fix. Not any more! Not only is the food tasty, but the service you get from them is top notch. The only dig on them is that the seating area is tight. To remedy this, they have purchased the empty adjacent space next to them and will be expanding their restaurant area within the near future. Based off of yelper, Jill E's review, I tried the Ginger and Garlic shrimp. I was perplexed on how the strong taste of garlic would marry itself with another overbearing flavor of the ginger. The assimilation of the two together is equivalent to culinary fireworks. Add this along with the grilled green beans, the double baked potato, and the cool coleslaw was heaven in my tummy. It'll be hard to pry me away from this dish the next time I'm there, but I'm eager to try some of their other Chef choice selections.

We came in right before closing and they were happy to seat us! I got the grilled salmon chef's special and that was a lot of food! My only concern was the salmon and the green beans seemed a tad oily for being grilled. The spinach was SO GOOD! I would definitely go again!

My new spot when I visit Jacksonville! I had the soft shell crab and it was great! Can't wait to try other things they have to offer in the future!

Great restaurant and market in one. I usually just go to grab something from the market but I have sat down for a meal. I love how simple they keep it. If you don't like something on the menu, all you have to do is ask. They will even cook your market picks for you. The employee's are great. Always smiling and great attitudes.

Slow service but good food. The wait staff was friendly but the bathroom area smelled like fish. Atmosphere feels like it's located in a strip mall.

  • Jenna B.

Good fresh seafood and very nice wait staff and owners. The feel of the place is kind of odd, and there isn't much in the way of anything super fancy or special but they do good fried seafood right and their dips are awesome. Love having them in the neighborhood!

  • Jay B.

I had a chance to eat lunch here over the weekend. I usually just buy my fish here. I had the fried grouper basket with fries, cole slaw and hushpuppies. The cole slaw was perfect, the grouper's breading was amazing.

  • Christy C.

Overall, id call it "good". Some of the menu items were absolutely awesome, like the soft shell crab, while others were just ok, like the fries. But service was incredible and everyone there is very very friendly and fast. Besides, the restaurant is only half of what they do, and as far as their seafood market is concerned, its WONDERFUL. They catch a bunch of fresh fish every day and always have a giant selection for a very reasonable price.

My first visit and it was fantastic. I think this is my new favorite restaurant in Jacksonville. The fried shrimp were perfect and the fried fish is simply delicious. I had the spinach cake and highly recommend it as a side. Sid came by the table and welcomed us. Great Place

Lunch time called, and went to tryout this place, and its worth the price, the seafood was fresh, crispy and extremely reasonable for seafood. The service was great, the place is super clean. I had the basket combo of soft shell crab, and oysters which were so fresh, fries and hush puppies. As another blogger wrote don't go there because its too good she was spot on!!!!

Had a great meal.. Fresh Mayport seafood, excellent sides, especially the spinach cake. The shrimp dip is a very tasty start. Reasonable prices. Got a table pretty quickly on a Friday. Try it. Sid the owner and his family put their love into this place I think.

For me it's real simple. I could go on and on about this place but I'll keep it simple. Family owned business that helps the community through church donations...and the fresh made daily COLE SLAW is the best there is, period!

I mean this is my kind of place! We had 4 different entrees and they were all fresh and tasted great. This is a real local place, not a chain with pre-prepared menu. Friendly service. Very clean. They have a fresh market too. The baskets have plenty to eat. Nobody ate it all.

I just got back home from having lunch at Sid and Linda's Seafood Market and Restaurant and all I can say is that it was Freaking Fantastic and I owe Ruby A. a great big debt of gratitude for recommending it to me. I arrived there at 11:00 am on the nose and found myself the only one there, when I left at about 12:30pm the place was packed . The waitress came right out and greeted me with a huge smile and a menu, and asked what I wanted to drink, so I ordered a sweet iced tea Quick service with a positive attitude is worth 1 star to me and they nailed it. The sweet iced tea I ordered was done perfectly and delivered promptly, add another star. I ordered the shrimp basket w/fries and coleslaw for my lunch there and after tasting the food I ordered a shrimp and fish basket to take home to my father-in-law who is bedridden. The shrimp were fantastic and the fries were hot and crisp, the hush-puppies were really good too. And while I'm not a fan of coleslaw I tried a bite and found it to be very good also. So 3 stars for the food quality and that's 5 stars total, I'd give them more if I could it was that good. I will now become a regular there. I can hardly wait until they move into the extra space next door that they are getting ready, as all they really need is some more seating area to satisfy the weekend waiting time that they are experiencing. I highly recommend Sid and Linda's Seafood Market and Restaurant to all you seafood loving Yelper's out there.

Laid back restaurant that serves delicious fresh seafood (grilled, blackened or fried). I'm bad and I love fried shrimps and french fries and this is where I go if I want just that! I don't like that type of meal all jazzed up and theirs is perfecto. On our recent trip for my mom's birthday, I got blackened mahi and it was DELISH! Staff is very nice too, they sang happy birthday to my mama! :) We have been twice, and I have noticed that several customers are regulars and the staff greets them as so... I think that's how you know a restaurant is good. Loyal customers :)

Came in for lunch based on Yelp reviews. I was looking for good, fresh seafood at a good price.....i found it. Great service (call out to Kevin), good food, good price. This is a seafood market and restaurant. Very basic set up, nothing fancy. As expected. I had the blackened snapper and softshell crab basket. I asked for the snapper grilled with no butter. It was flaky, moist and fresh. The softshell crab was fried, but lightly battered, almost flash fried. Crunchy, savory and moist. Fries and hush puppies perfect. As good as any high end seafood restaurant, without the high end price. Keep up the good work!

I saw this place opened recently and I've been meaning to stop in and see what kind of stuff they've got and what their prices are. I was greeted when I walked in, ok, that's cool. I walked back to the cooler area where they have their seafood for sale on display. I figured I'd pick up some shrimp to cook for dinner. So I'm standing there waiting....and waiting....and waiting....and waiting... I'm being passed by staff constantly. Heck, some of them even said hello! But not one person ever asked me if they could help me ( was there for a few minutes). The place wasn't crowded at all (was 2:00 on a Thursday afternoon). There were more staff there than customers. I finally just gave up and walked out. Honestly, there's not much which is more insulting than being (essentially) ignored when trying to purchase something at an establishment. I got the impression some of the people were busy but not everyone. I was one person standing at the cooler looking like I wanted to purchase something. Anyway, I'll have to see if I give it another shot. One thing I hate is a lack of service and this was about as lacking as you can get. (I gave it 1 star just because I can't totally hit them since I didn't try anything there. If the food had sucked, I'd have given them 0 stars.)

The ginger shrimp and the salad with their own miaoso ginger dressing we're both absolutely delicious. I told them they should bottle that dressing and sell it. Both Sid and Linda stopped by the table to introduce themselves. Casual and very inviting environment with great food!

Found this place on Yelp and it is close to me and the reviews looked good. But it didn't live up to the reviews, maybe I caught them on a bad day, but it wasn't busy. Ordered the shrimp & fish basket, the shrimp seemed like it has been boiled first then battered and fried, only way to get overcooked shrimp and under cooked batter. The fish left a puddle of oil in the bottom of the basket , oil must have been to cool to cook with. The wife had the fried oysters and said it was good. Don't think I will try them again unless I have another 50 bucks I want to throw away.

Try their blackened scallops! My husband and I got a basket of them, along with two other baskets, and they were the first to disappear! I'm from an island so good seafood is hard to find. I'd definitely go back again.

Great fresh seafood! Simple, small place with friendly service. Scallops, soft-shell crab, crabcakes, calamari and shrimp were all awesome. Will definitely return to try another dish.

Very excited to have such a great fish restaurant and market close to us. The restaurant was busy Sunday for lunch but the service was still top notch. I got the blackened fish on top of a garden salad and the fish was amazing. Best in town. My boyfriend had the fried grouper which was lightly fried and very tasty. I would HIGHLY recommend this place. I wish we could take this restaurant and put it somewhere with a nice water view.

My party of 4 went for dinner on a Saturday night and had great service and the food was delicious. The prices were reasonable and generous servings. With that said, I have been in the seafood bbusiness for 36 years. I own a shrimp boat and seafood market also. My husband and I will definitely put this on our list of favorite seafood restaurants. They are expanding their seating area also. Can't wait to return and try some more of their selections.

Maybe today was an off day but I was NOT impressed today being my first visit :( I had read the reviews and was told by friends that this place was great...it sure wasn't "great" today. I was seated in the new part and there was only one other table occupied with 3 people when I was seated. I sat there watching those people eat for about 7 or 8 minutes then someone seated a lady behind me and someone else seated a booth of 3 in front of me...no way they didn't see me but, they must not have because the waiter took the drink order of the lady behind me, then the 3 that he just sat and IGNORED me! I had to say excuse me when he was walking by to even get his attention. Then he brought all of us our drinks and then proceeded to tell the table of 3 that he was going to take someone else's order first since "she" was here first....then he walked right by me to the lady that was seated AFTER me and took her order!! Seriously?? When he was headed back to the table of 3 to take THEIR order, I again said excuse me to get his attention. I told him that I was seated before either of those 2 tables and asked if I could place my order.. He acted so surprised that I had been sitting there! REALLY,?! I'm about 70 pounds overweight, you didn't see me? He said "where were you"? I couldn't believe it, lol! On to the food....I got the shrimp basket, the slaw, fries and hush puppies were pretty good but the shrimp? Those were NOT so good...some of them still had the "poop" line down the back, YUCK! And they didn't seem fresh, they had this mushy, mealy texture to them. I'm sad because I really wanted to like this place but today was not a good experience at all...never saw the waiter again after I got my food except for the time he was running to someone else's table and I flagged him down for more tea :( Oh and when he left the check....good thing I had cash because I waited a long time for him to come back to get my credit card and when he didn't, I paid in cash and got out of there.

Slow, almost obsolete serverice. Had to ask for menus after we were seated for quite some time. The same girl that brought us menus eventually came back over to ask if our waitress had taken our order yet. We then ordered two baskets with no special requests and the food took a very long time to get to us. Never offered to refill our drinks. Food was decent but skimpy portions for the price. We have been here twice now with a very similar experience. We do not plan on returning.

I had heard great things from friends and begged my son to go with me. We love Safe Harbor and I had heard the chef used to work there. The fried shrimp we ordered were soggy and when we complained the waitress who had been very slow.was very rude about it. She said we have to tell them we have to say we want the shrimp crispy. I have never had to tell a restaurant that when ordering FRIED shrimp. They took a couple of dollars off our bill. I would never go back even though it's very close to my home.

2 words...Fish Tacos.... Great place, live nearby and have never been disappointed. The owners are there most of the time and very often come by to greet their customers and ask about the experience. Highly recommended!

this place is very good for a seafood fix that won't break the bank. The seafood is very fresh, prepared good. We started off with steamed oysters from apalachicola. The size of the oysters were wonderful. I've been to a few places and the size of the oysters are less than your thumbnail. Not here, nice flavor, good sized. they also brought plenty of crackers, lemons, horseradish to go along with them I had the catch of the day which was sheepshead. grilled and done just right. This is a good flaky whitefish which has a very good taste. My wife had her fish fried. i tried some of her's. I'm not a big fried fish fan but it tasted pretty good. the service is a bit slow. if you are in a hurry to get someplace after dinner, make sure you give yourself plenty of time. They were pretty busy when we got there. It is a small place. Overall, very good with the food. i've been here a number of times but never yelped about it. I had to do it this time. I'll be back. they also have a seafood market where you can pick up different fillets or whole fish to take home. it is worth a trip there.

After seeing so many positive reviews I had to try this place out. Unfortunately, I wish I hadn't read these before I ate here. I ordered the blackened scallops, fried oysters and crab cake. I swapped out the coleslaw for their macaroni salad with shrimp. Let me start with the bad stuff. The service was incredibly slow. I followed the last server in to the restaurant. She was just so slow. In fact I had enough time to post the picture to Instagram and write an entire yelp review. But that's okay I'm not in a rush so I won't ding the food. Next, the crab cake. God I wanted to like it. It's huge like a hockey puck! When I cut it open it looked like there was so much meat in it! However it tasted so bland. God it hurt me so much. It tasted like nothingness. Killed me. I'm spoiled with devil crab from Tampa. Now to the good. The oysters are gigantic. They're huge. Lightly fried and juicy as hell! Fantastic. Could use some seasoning but overall great. And finally, the only reason I gave this place a four star was that scallop game. The blackened scallops were so good it made it all worth it. Damn those scallops on a bed of spicy pasta. Glorious. My recommendation is to order the scallops. Period. If you don't like scallops, go to Applebee's.

We were we could sit where ever we liked, but once we sat down, we were asked to move. Services was slow. Our server seemed to forget about us. Portion size was small and over priced for the quality. Overall, I wouldn't go back, nor would I recommend.

Okay, I have not eaten at the restaurant but I have tried the seafood market and was thrilled with the two S's. The two S's are Selection and Service. We purchased jumbo shrimp and King Crab legs and took them home that night to cook. The packaging was terrific and there is something about cooking fresh seafood, which my family really enjoys. UPDATE: I have returned to eat in the dining room and the spinach cake is simply amazing. We started of with some fresh calamari for an appetizer and then both my wife and I had scallops and shrimp, and we shared our sides of green beans and aforementioned divine spinach cakes. The decor is really nothing to talk about, seems like a simple diner you would find in the country, but you will not mind once you taste the food. Service was really really good, friendly, helpful and prompt. I have to admit there is not much here to dislike, but you will feel more comfortable showing up in shorts than a suit, but regardless of what you wear, same the spinach case.

I've been searching for a local seafood place to go to since I've become disenchanted with St. Johns Seafood (now Lila's) without going way out to the beach. I think I found it here. I was invited to come to Sunday Brunch here with a bunch of friends and while I just bought groceries I couldn't say no because you know, it's seafood. No one should turn down a chance to eat seafood. We got there about noon and the place wasn't busy. I do like that it's both a market and a restaurant. The fish are extra fresh and if you want, you can buy their fish and they will cook it for you. I spent a long time going over the menu because everything looked so good. I settled on a dozen Raw Oysters (thanks Nate M. for the pic) as an appetizer and the Three-Item Basket of Blackened Scallops, Blackened Shrimp, and a Crab Cake with the standard sides of fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw. The oysters came out on a huge platter. They weren't kidding those oysters are huge themselves and they were fabuloso! So good, I was thinking about ordering another one but I knew there'll be another time. The basket came out and omg everything looked so great I didn't know where to start. I went with the fries because there was a lot of those then I ate some shrimp. The shrimp didn't have the "fresh from the ocean" taste, but they were still good. The blackened seasoning was just right. The scallops were phenomenal! I should have ordered a side of scallops to-go because those thangs was good! The crab cake was also good and they weren't mostly breading which I hate about crab cakes from some places. I would expect more from a seafood restaurant. The coleslaw and fries where just ok while the hushpuppies stood out from the other sides. They didn't taste like traditional yellow corn was used and these were more flavorful. I'll need to check out the "market" portion to see if they carry the kinds of fish my mother is looking for. I'll definitely need to bring her here because I'm sure she'll love it.

Sid and Linda's has THE BEST scallops in Jacksonville. I take all my friends and family here-they're prices are reasonable and the food is great. It's local and fresh, doesn't get better than that!

me gusto!!! Love seafood so this place was awesome for me, esp since im not a fan of pork or beef. I was hesitant to come by though because it was just in a shopping complex by the tax collector's office. I thought initially, why is there a seafood joint there, you think in Mayport right? Well aparrently theyre associated with Safe Harbor. well I was wrong! First time we came in, we ordered the Savannah crab soup, spinach cake, and 2 baskets. I got the shrimp and fish basket, ohh was it good! The seaweed salad is my favorite!!! I probably should lay off the fried foods but their fried food doesn't seem too greasy. It was just right, and the portions are large! I always leave with leftovers for lunch at work the next day. I don't know about other reviews, but the 3 times we came by the customer service has been great. I also like how they keep the desserts in a cold case at the front of the restautant...it makes me miss it unknowlingly which makes sure I don't get dessert hahaha.

This is a quirky spot nestled in the mid-point of a strip mall. Sid and Linda are quite a unique couple, and have proven themselves as advocates of good simple food, made correctly with the freshest ingredients as well as care and love. I have only been here about four times, but I am greeted warmly, they call me by name, if he is not too busy Sid will come out and tell you about the fish or any specials they may have that day. They ran the kitchen at a well know and popular spot in Mayport for many years before deciding to make it a go for themselves. The result, a spot where most nights it is almost impossible to get a table with out reservations. Since we are usually 8 to 10 we always call ahead to get our favorite spot in the newly expanded dining room. I always recommend reservations for this spot. Sunday lunch is especially busy. We started with the Savannah Crab Bisque, and the fresh shucked oysters. The bisque is a meal in itself with large pieces of crab and potato in a perfectly flavored roux. This is for sure a crown pleaser even in the warm weather. The oysters are fresh, briny and ice-cold. Who ever opens up these babies knows how to do it correctly, no shell pieces or dirt anywhere. Both dishes come with a basket of crackers and some horseradish and lemon for the oysters. We moved on to some of our favorite dishes, from the menu. The customer has the option of several preparation styles: fried, blackened, or broiled. There is always fresh fish available to be cooked as requested. Take a walk around to the fish counter, find one that pleases you and tell the chef how you would like it cooked. The sides include, spinach cake, onion rings, a very flavorful cole slaw and sweet potato fries. Hush puppies never a favorite of mine are a must try item. Beverages available, beer, wine the regular line up of carbonated drinks and both sweet and unsweet tea. You can also request any combo basket for a small additional fee.
