Oh my. I forgot how delicious their custard is. I should stop by more often. It reminds me of gelato but a bit thicker. I like how rich it is. Their cotton candy italian ice was smooth and bursting with flavor. There are different ways of eating your italian ice and/or custard. You can get it as a Gelati (layered), or as a Blendini (blended with candy bits) or as a Misto (blended without candy bits). You can also get it as a simple custard or italian ice.

I used to love coming here until yesterday. A group of us (four asian friends) wanted to get some Rita's Italian Ice before catching a movie and we showed up at 8:40. They tell us they're trying to "close down the front" (they close at 9) so they weren't going to serve us there, however we can pull around the drive through if we really wanted. This is all while they were still serving (notably white) people at the counter. So we were a little upset we didn't get our Rita's Ice and just decided to go to the movie theater. As we are getting ready to leave we watch 2 (notably white) people walk in just moments after they have turned us away and watch them get samples and pay for their meal. It's sad to see racism alive and well and from a place that I USED to enjoy bringing my family.

Gelati is awesome!!! In love with the custard- so good. It's the service that gets it 2 stars. girls working drive through always are rude

Place is exactly as advertised. Wanted to try something different for a change and this sufficed. I prefer the norm, normal ice cream but the custard gelatin isn't too bad for a change here and there. I'm sure I'll be back.

I love Ritas! It reminds me of summers back home :) The staff were friendly and the store was clean. I ordered A coconut cream ice; I ventured from my normal watermelon or lemon and it was sooo good!! Also I want to commend this Ritas because the consistancy of the water ice was perfect! I have been to others and it was very slushly like and just plain terrible! Keep up the great work!

This is a tough one for me because A) I LOVE Rita's gelattis, but B) the staff at this location are the worst!!! I usually frequent the Jax beach location after I'm leaving a sun filled day at the beach and have never had any issues. Lately, however, I've come here after running some errands, it being the more convenient local. The girls there are very short with you, and a smile? HA! I'm more likely to find a smile at the dreadful Wal-Mart (which I refuse to shop at) than here. They want you to order and fast! I always like to sample a flavor, since they have so many and they act like it is a burden on them. Basically what I'm trying to say is they REALLY need to work on their customer service. Their product is stellar, (5 star) but their workers are unpleasant.

I have never had a bad experience here. I love the customer service and the food that they offer. I go very often.

The custard is pretty good. My issue is with the snotty little teenage girls who work there. They act like it's a huge inconvenience to have to do their jobs. They have crappy little attitudes about everything. And it's not like I'm a pain in the ass customer. I'm always friendly with them and have very simple orders. This isn't a one-time thing, it's happened every time I've been. If the owners care about their business I highly recommend they re-evaluate their staff and vastly improve the customer service.

Monday's suck and custard here is happiness. Peak in every so often to taste the new flavors they have to offered. But nothing taste as good as vanilla custard in a waffle cone. Hits the spot when my sweet tooth is awake and carries well in traffic. Keep your windows up and just laugh at the stares you get while enjoying your cone.

uhm. yes please. ritas reminds me of happy summers when i was sixteen & hanging out with my NOW husband.. :) we used to get cheese filled pretzels & italian ices -- chill all day & the beach and pass out on his waterbed for hours. those were the days. ritas is still delicious & i still happen to love pina colada -- but the cheese filled pretzels are from a different supplier and they arent as delicious and greasy as before. :( lolz. its like theyre using low fat cheese or something in these new ones. its NOT cool. ritas -- you need to offer blueberry on a regular basis and THEN i will give you five stars.. only then.

I am not a huge fan of ice cream but I LOVE the Ice custard at Rita's. It reminds me of when I was a kid and My mom would make custard and we could churn it ( by hand ). It is smooth and TASTY..... I have been 3 times now with my kids. Each time we went inside to order and samples were offered. I tried 3 things and the nice young lady helping me didn't give me an "ok you've had to many look" . She was very nice and recommended a flavor for me to try as well. Sooooo, if you leave there with something you don't like then I think it may be your own fault :) Go inside and have a taste... You want be disappointed. BTW, my kids prefer the Italian Ice its smooth and Super Sweet!

On a hot day we decided to try for the first time the Italian ice of Rita's... and we were happily impressed... the Italian ice had great flavor and it helped so much to cool you down... additionally we found out that the Italian ice is somehow fat-free & sugar-free... They also have this "party" size buckets which we can see us buying for when we have family in the house during the summer... especially with kids... The only reason we are not giving it a 4 or 5 right now.. is because we want to try the custard and the custard / italian ice mix... but based on what we saw... and some of the other comments... I can.. forecast increasing the rating on our next visit. We used to go to Sonic to get frozen drinks before or after going to the beach... Rita's is now the new stop...

The Frozen Custard that makes this place famous was TERRIBLE! It was not at all what I was expecting - or have had at other Frozen Custard places. It was closer to whipped butter on a cone then creamy cool soft serve ice cream. It was so rich it was overwhelming - I ended up throwing over half of it in the trash - something I have NEVER done with ice cream before! The flavor was bland and it was not particularily cold... I cannot speak for the other items on the menu but the Frozen Custard was enough to make me never want to go back!
