Only spending one night in Jax but so fortunate to have found this little gem. It was our 21st wed anniv so since we were in strange town, wanted something more than normal chain food. Started with mussels for app and very good. Broth was awesome ate four pieces of bread soping up the bowl. Salad dressings tasted homemade and very flavorful. We split grouper piccata but they give such large potions, it was as if we each ordered one. Asked for grouper with spinach option and it was perfect. Decided to splurge and bought whole bottle of wine and they were priced well. Only negative but would have been "icing on the cake", the oil and seasoning they give for bread tasted like an olive oil blend instead of pure olive oil. Amber was our server and even though we didn't get there until an hour before closing, made us feel welcome. She was very hands on and even told us the history of the restaurant. If you're local, make this your once a week place to go. If passing through like us, defiantly worth looking for. Great job guys.

Service: very good. Our waitress was friendly and was always there when we needed her. Food: I had the margarita pie. It was good but being from NYC area, it didn't wow me. Bathrooms: first off, I'm kind of a germaphobe, the floor was sticky, but that could also be from using too much cleaning solution... The floor needs to be regrout, they are stained and look ugly/dirty. Overall: I don't live close so not sure if I will make a special trip. But if I was in the area again, I'll give it a shot! I'll try a pasta dish next time.

I used to watching Italian league soccer at cafes. But here they watch gymnastics at the bar? Whatever floats your boat! Great service. Great atmosphere! But the food is decent - really nothing special. I love authentic Italian food. This place tasted authentic ...like maybe a young exchange students food. I was looking for that grandmother/ nonno hiding in the kitchen food appeal instead. I had the ravioli and the minestrone. And it was just a level above Olive Garden. Not bad just OK. And the additional 5 people I ate with said the same about all there meals. Nothing raving! The dessert selection is limited and the most disappoint of this lack luster meal. The tiramisu I order looks beautiful but tasted like dark chocolate sundae sauce and Cool whip. Just an OK dinner all around. Liar Liar - "Was it good for you? (Jim Carey): "I've had better."

I was in the mood for Italian, but I didn't want franchise food nor did I have the patience to make it myself. I decided to order to go from Leci's and it was my first time EVER! So, we ordered A large calzone, lasagna, and calamari..I am very satisfied and so was my fiancé', he is by far very picky and hard to impress with food and he was pleasantly please with the taste, quality of food and price. Bonus for us because we will def frequent this establishment. It goes to show, not to judge a book by it's cover, because the exterior seems like a regular 'small' place but inside it was warm, inviting and decor was modern. If you are ever in the mood for Italian, this place is it!

Went for lunch with a group of co-workers on a business trip. We all had the lunch buffet. Lets start with the service. When we walked in there were 2 employees at the door who ignored us as they continued to debate over who was going to clean what table and who was responsible for what. Then one managed to at least smile at us and seat us. The buffet has a small salad area but with ample topping for you to make a nice side salad. The pepperoni pizza was great but even though we were there at 1:00 we each were able to get a slice of pizza and they did not bring out a new pizza. There we no other pizza choices other than the pepperoni but at least what I had was really good. The meatballs are all kinds of wrong and frozen. Like as soon as you cut in them they look like the kind that come out of a bag and when you take a bite of them you know that no one is rolling these balls in that kitchen. There was a tortellini in a cream sauce that was very good as well as a ravioli. Trully not sure if they were homemade but they still tasted really good. I would go back if I were there on business again and had to eat quickly as that is easy to do with a lunch buffet. Basically the staff has drama and the food that is good is really good and the food that is bad is really bad.

BEWARE! If you order a take out, make sure you check you your credit card statement, that they have not added anything addition to your bill. We really like this place, however it is now a trust issue and I think if I return I will only pay in cash.

I've enjoyed lunch at Leci's several times. I have only ordered the buffet but it offered different hot entrees each time I have been there. The salad bar includes a variety of choices and you could make lunch out of it if desired but the pizza, calzone and several hot entree selections on the buffet truly make this a great choice for lunch.

This used to be my favorite Italian restaurant in Jacksonville until one night the service was I bad I wouldn't go back again!! They have really good food but the service is never good. It's more like they screwed up our order twice and then we just had to live with what they gave us because arguing with them was not worth it. Get take out if u want to eat their food!!

Excellent food for the price. The lunch buffet is very good. There isn't a dish that I dislike. It's hard to get Italian food right but this place does.

Leci's is a great little find! They have a very fairly priced lunch buffet with an impressive salad bar and quite a variety of Italian dishes (pizza, calzone, pasta, etc.). My favorites are their Greek salad and calzone (it's huge!). Good food, good prices, good service. We go a few times a month and have never been disappointed.

A good find, I am staying in a hotel nearby, and this is one of a few places within walking distance. I wasn't too sure when I looked at the front, but am glad I did. I had the Leci's salad and veal milanese. The dressing on the salad was a bit creamy, which is not my favorite, but was still good. The veal was quite good. Service was very efficient.

The lunch buffet was good, with lots of choices to choose from. For only 7.99 you can't beat it! The service was a little slow, I had to keep asking for drinks and we always had someone else that wasn't out waitress help us.

My Friend's Claudia won a $50 Gift Certificate to this place and invited me to join her for dinner. We had a great meal here, our server Ricco was awesome and prompt on taking care of our every need! We orders 2 appitizers, 2 HUGE portioned entrees and drinks and our total bill was only $52!!! Enjoyed my Meal so much I forgot to take a picture!

I visited with family for dinner. Service was quick, food was fresh and homemade. Salads were good and not just a filler. Chicken pomodoro was very tasty.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
