    My family will never eat there again. The place looked nice from the outside but inside it was dirty. There food tasted like it was all frozen and reheated and the service was probably one of the worst experiences I've had out. They got my wife's meal wrong and when she finally got her food it was over cooked. The veal was supposed to be pan fried but it definitely was deep fried and in turn ruined the flavor, the calamari was definitely not fresh and the waitress kept blaming her boss for everything. Horrible experience I wouldn't waste your money on this place.

    This review is based on the buffet, which I have to recommend avoiding at this establishment. I did not check Yelp in advance unfortunately - I chose it because it was close to my appointment and was starving. The waiter handed me two plates, one of which they wiped down in front of me. Bread was brought to other tables, but not mine for some reason. The buffet, particularly the salad bar, was unappealing, with limited choices. The meatballs looked like they were frozen. (I don't actually mind if they are - it is a buffet after all. But at least make them look like you kicked them up a notch above what I could've done at home.) There's more but I have probably made my point by now. Perhaps the dinner service is better, but to have a plate wiped down in front of me like that? Its difficult to imagine the kitchen staff caring enough that it would be worth giving them a second try..

    This place made me sad. Sad because I remember how it was years ago when I was a kid, when it was great. The place was empty at "prime time" on a Friday night, and I now know why. The food was all packaged or canned--nothing our group ordered was fresh-made. I had ravioli that was frozen and heated up for my order, sauce that was out of a can/jar but someone added a little spice to it to try and liven it up. My friend's chicken parm--a staple Italian dish--was previously frozen, haphazardly covered with cheese, then covered with the "sad sauce." I am not sure if the owners have given up, but this place would **seriously** benefit from someone who knew how to make their food fresh and injected some passion back into the restaurant. I hope s/he shows up soon, or this place may not be around the next time I feel nostalgic.

    As I drove off from Nonna Emilia's lunch buffet in Beaverton/Aloha OR, I pondered my experience at Gubbio's in Jacksonville. Nonna Emilia's is only a few bucks more. However, Gubbio's is acceptable in terms of the price/quality ratio. Where are you going to find an Italian lunch buffet for $6.95? It won't be easy. Thus, I'd recommend going earlier, toward the beginning of the time window for the buffet, when the pastas and pizzas they put out have more recently been pulled out of the oven. Gubbio's is not the epitome of good Italian food but, as another review points out, the word adequate adequately describes the buffet fare here. Check around to see who else is doing an economy Italian lunch buffet on J-ville's Southside. However, for the price and the friendly service, Gubbio's is doable. There ... now I feel better.

    The Stars are based on my one and only visit. I went here for a late lunch one day and got the Calzone. While a little pricey, the cal was AMAZING... not what i was expecting based on the reviews, but I will probably come again.

    One of the worst Italian restaurants you will ever eat. The salad bar was filled with discolored lettuce. The chicken parm was like an old shoe.There are so many good Italian restaurants in the same area. If your car broke down in their parking lot,You would be better off walking to a different restaurant.

    Gubbio's is a perfectly adequate local restaurant. While I've never had an amazing experience here I've also never had a bad experience. It's just decent basic Italian food.

    went for their lunch buffet twice, and it's really bland. Nothing special at all, and everything tasted like it needed salt and pepper. Not a fan at all.

    Ruined our Mothers Day - Had reservations - when we arrived, on time, nothing was ready and the restaurant was 1/3 full. Got us seated and took our orders and then nothing - over an hour later we were informed that the food was coming up and there was only 1 person in the kitchen???? We went ahead and gave insulin to our 12 year old and then waited another 20 minutes - no food - no waitress? Finally brought out burnt chicken fingers for one of the kids which we refused. It had been so long now that we had to leave in order to get something for our grandson that had taken insulin. Upon leaving we were asked to pay for our salads and drinks! Really, that didn't happen, most disorganized place I have ever been and will not return.

    Gubbio's has a pretty good buffet and is on the lower end of the Italian buffet scale in this Southside area, at $6.95 per person. Although the menu varies, you can usually find lasagna, some sort of stuffed manicotti or pasta shells. I really like Gubbio's ravioli in cheese sauce and their garlic bread even though these two items tend to put me in a lunch-time carbo coma! The buffet runs from 11am - 2pm and is a quick solution to an inexpensive lunch if you are around the Baymeadows area.

    I've been here a handful of times over the past few years, and have always found this place mediocre at best. The food is too salty, I dislike that refills on beverages are limited to two, and the staff is comprised mostly of apathetic teenagers. I defend my repeated visits based on the price, the convenience, and the silly salad bar, but after having two negative experiences back-to-back, I can't contain my disapproval. My most recent jaunt was particularly dismal; my party and I decided to leave before the server even brought our drinks (after waiting almost twenty minutes before we were even acknowledged). To boot, as we were walking out, the host sarcastically said, "Have a good night!" Seriously? What gall. If you're in the Baymeadows area and want relatively inexpensive Italian, I recommend opting for Giuliano's instead.

    Not very friendly, the food was mediocre. The decor was null. What I did not like was that they added a tip to a lunch buffet without asking me. I have no problems tipping but a tip is earned not given freely. I was not served anything (self serve) and the bread was stale and cold. When I called to inquire as to the discrepancy on the charge, I was asked if I left a tip and then told that my bank made the error and charged a little extra and will be refunding me within 1-2 days. This is a lie. Banks will charge the actual amount that you signed for and then if you leave a tip, the amount with the tip is adjusted 1-2 days later not the other way around. I won't be returning to this retaurant. For $4.95 you can go right down the block from this place at Al's pizza and have their lunch specials which are tastier and their service is better, friendlier. They also won't be sneaky and try to steal money from the customer.
