The server was kind of slow, she avoided our table the entire time we were there because I got snappy with her as she approached the table asking us what we wanted to drink. I asked if the drinks were listed in the menu and I didn't hear her because it's loud. So I asked again and she says no we have Pepsi products. I tell her ok what kind? She repeats Pepsi products and I look at her and ask again what kind and she repeats Pepsi products, you think I'd ask the same question 3 times if I wanted the same answer. I tell her I get that what kind of sodas! I guess I'm suppose to have the list of Pepsi products memorized as a customer or she wanted me to google it. Just name off the darn sodas you offer. Clean location but very very loud. Kids running around screaming getting hurt and crying. The food was alright. I had the jalapeño burger it's stuffed with cream cheese and topped with pepper jack, I didn't taste a single jalapeño. Husband had a bacon cheese burger, he said it was good but the meat in my burger was so compact and almost dry I'm sure his was the same. His burger came with lettuce, it was old and brown yumm (not) We had 2 sodas and ordered an extra side, the bill came out to 37.

They will dollar you to death! They charge you for everything including a ranch to go with your wings! The do not even give one with your order. Food is usually good and service is ok. But pricey for what you get. Typical sports bar nothing that stands out.

We've been coming here for years. lots of appetizers, Great wings. Tuesday is kids night. So use caution. LOL. LOTS of TVs. It can get pretty busy during games.

Always a good experience. We eat here often and like the clean atmosphere and attentive staff.

Best wings in town I think. Yum, grilled hot, nice and plump, without all that heavy breading you get at other places. Only negative is that you have to pay to get a decent amount of celery with the wings. They used to come with it. The blue cheese dressing is awesome too.

Kind of a last minute dinner decision, not bad! When we walked in, it was pretty crowded. People were standing around waiting to be seated and I thought maybe we should turn around. The host asked how many, I said... just two and we are seated right away! At a hightop, and that was just fine with me. Our server greeted us right away and was eager to take our drink order. I wanted to know about any drink specials (it's been a rough new year already), she says that the drink specials stop at 7... it was 6:57, disappointed... but that didn't stop me from ordering. My honey had the old faithful, Mich Ultra... can't mess that up. I had a frozen Margarita and it was not the best. It had a gross kinda cigeratte taste to me... my honey couldnt' taste that. But it was also very watery. Needless to say, I only had one. My other complaint about 'drinks' is the table that came in several minutes after us was allowed to order the 'drink specials'. Now that was not very nice of our server! Tip to servers out there... if you are gonna offer your specials to one table and not the other, make sure you keep your voice down so your other tables don't hear you! For food we ordered the sliders... four little cheeseburgers with lots and lots of lettuce!?! The burgers were the frozen little square kind. Wish they woulda patted them out, fresh always makes for a better burger. We also got twelve wings... we choose the house favorites, Gators Own Hot and Gators Own Scooter. Both were very yummi! Lots of t.v.'s everywhere, pool tables and some video games. Great place to hang out either at the bar area or grab a hightop with some friends or your boo. Atmosphere is family friendly, so kids are cool too.

Been here twice. It's ok, just another Sports Bar. Don't get the ribs. Bar food is ok, nothing to write home about.

The wings are awesome!!! But don't go on a Monday!! The Baseball Team loves wings on Mondays. Forget the steal, these boys are, well, they're teenaged boys! I stay away on Mondays for sure! But anyhow the food is awesome! The service isn't as great as the food but it's not terrible!

Great service, big menu and just delicious food! Ate here for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. Loved it!!!!!

Beer was hot. Nachos were as dry as a dessert. Gator tail was nothing but pure rubber.

I've been here twice and disappointed both times. I won't go back unless I'm forced to by my g/f. She was the only reason I went both times anyway. Her friends and family seem to like this place. I'm not sure why. The food is terrible. The service always seems to be good, but the food will never match it. I don't even remember what I got the first time I was there, but I do know I wasn't impressed. The second time (just recently) I got the buffalo chicken wrap. Absolutely disgusting. I literally poured ounces of juice/water/sauce/whatever the hell it was out of both halves of my wrap. I had a pool of buffalo whatcha-call-it in my plate. I didn't even bother eating the second half. You get 1 star for the good service.

Went on Trivia night, Thursdays, with 4 other ladies. Appetizers are grossly overpriced. Ordered the Gator Tail for $9+ and when it arrived the portion size was inadequate. A price of $7 would have been more appropriate. I suggest only ordering salads and their wings. Still not cheap but dont waste your time on the overpriced appetizers or entrees. The trivia was fun and the drinks ok. An oyster bar would be great in a place like this. Also an appetizer platter with gator tail, cheese sticks and pickle chips would be worth about $14.99 and add greatly to the appetizer choices in a way that gives customers something worth their money. I'd go again but for wings and salads only. ***Be aware that if you use a card to pay your bill they will add another 20% to your total until payment clears.

Very good food. My favorite is the Monte Cristo with onion petals, mmmmmmmmm delicious. My family has tried other items on the menu such as the chicken wrap and Philly steak sandwich. They love this place. On Saturdays, it can get loud at this establishment as it seems that it attracts Pop Warrener teams after games. The kids are loud and not mind by their parents. Once they leave, it's a wonderful place.

They are pricey but the food is good. I am hooked on their Caribbean jerk wings. I get those almost every time I go there along with the fried pickles. You can easily run up a pretty high bill if you're at the bar. If you're going to drink, I'd rather go to chili's as their happy hour is all day every day on certain drinks.

NEW FAVORITE SPOT! Cold beer, great service, and delicious food. Not to mention you will have at least 3-4 TVs in your line of sight anywhere you sit. And they have the NFL ticket. Got gator tail for appetizer, and the Mac bacon cheeseburger. Everything was hot, fresh, and quick. I am thoroughly impressed! Richy was a great bartender!

Hit or miss, most of the time good, not great; but I have had some bad experiences. The traditional wings are very good ,and the burgers are really good most of the time. The last time I was here the burger was really burnt....

If you have a wing ding thing, Gators DS is the place for you. Their wings fly in from multiple direction, Breaded/Fried, Grilled and Naked Buffalo. Once you've picked the style, you pick your flavor from a choice of 15 sauces. Grilled with Caribbean Jerk, Hot Teriyaki and Traditional Hot are my faves. You order in denominational quantities of 10, 50 or 100. I also prefer two boners, or as they call them, flats over the small drums. The wings here are more tasty than most any other places about town. Never dry or tough. I've also made a meal on the Buffalo Shrimp, hand battered, lightly fried and tossed in wing sauce of my choice. Served with blue cheese dressing, it's a perfect meal if you add on some mashed potatoes. They offer a great selection of Appetizers, Burgers and Sandwiches, Soup and Salads and Entree Platters and a nice little gator menu. I've see a few people order ribs but no one in my party, so I can't testify. One big plus is the have New Castle on tap and that awards them one whole star.

Terrible service, manager not very friendly either. The food was okay, nothing special. Definitely not going there again.

Me, and my families favorite. Great Wings and a fun place to watch the game.

Best wings in Oakleaf. We only eat here on Tuesdays because kids eat free. Wings are good but their sides are limited. If this review was just based on food it would rate higher but their service is 1star. We always get the feeling that we are being a burden to the staff by dining there and keeping them from hanging out. On our last experience we waited a solid 45 mins for our food on a night that was relatively dead. Luckily our waiter informed us that it was our fault because of the chicken sandwich we ordered. Not many choices out here in Oakleaf so if you don't want to drive you have to put up with the BS. As an alternative if you are brave the Gator's on 103rd actually tastes better and offer's better service....but my wife won't risk her life on 103rd street for wings.

Descent, great for family outings. Like their wings. Wish they had an oyster bar though. Like the outdoor seating.

  • Ayesha A.

I gave four stars b/c it's a great place to go on game days. Food is good but I wish thing wings were saucier... Oh by the way, I had buffalo shrimp w/ blue cheese ( very good) and 10 wings grilled Honey Mustard ( good but needed more sauce) and a basket of fries ( pretty good). Service was decent, they even sat near the tv showing the game that we wanted to watch.

  • Steve B.

Game day beers and the ultimate dockside burger with double Patti, cheese bacon, buttered roll, fries the best burger in Jacksonville!! You know it's gonna be good when they stick a steak knife in the burger to hold it together! Awesome staff but they only had one bartender working on game day, so drinks where slow but other than that very good!

Gator's Dockside is the ONLY 2am establishment with a full bar in Oakleaf. They know it too, because they price gouge like crazy. They recently raised the price of their more popular drink items. Having seen price gouging after being affected by Hurricane Andrew I have no respect for companies who practice such tactics. The place is very very bright, so don't go in there for ambiance. They have trivia on Thursdays if you're into that sort of thing. They also have a cable package that gets them the UFC fights. They have had a lot of fights there during UFC nights so there is now a uniformed officer in the building during fight nights. The food is what it is, bar food and mostly fried goods. Bathrooms are always clean.

Now I remember why I stopped going here. I am actually being very generous with the 3 stars due in large part to the server. First, nothing more irritating then to be nickled & dimed & dollar'd to death by a business. Every little thing that most people want with wings is charged extra(I.e. Ranch, sauce etc..). Surcharges added to the check, supposedly for ACA. If you use your debit card an additional 20% is authorized and then your stuck waiting for the reconciliation. Second, and probably my biggest pet peeve of all. Do you realize that we live in the social media generation? When I (and a majority of your customers) come to sit and eat, and watch football or any other game a large part of the enjoyment is being able to access social media either through a cellular signal or a wifi signal. I have never been successful in receiving a cell signal for AT&T or Verizon anywhere in your building. Add to that you have two wireless signals that are crap at best. This is the easiest thing to fix and yet you refuse to. The food is good. But in this area that's not good enough. Plenty of businesses have good food. That alone will not be bringing me back, especially during NFL or College Football season.

They're grilled wings are awesome. Always a fun atmosphere at Gator's. The service is great. In the fall Monday nights are awesome. All you can eat wings and picture of beer, you can't beat that. They have several TVs on all sporting events. Overall, if you're looking for a great meal and a spot to catch a game, Gator's Dockside is the place for you.

Went back at night and had a much better experience. The food was really good and servers were more attentive and friendlier. You don't have to chase them down to get things. The grilled hot wings are very good. Ask for a good server. Some are not as attentive.

Besides the typical Navy family demographics (sorry, but you know it's true) the Air Conditioning has been out since the last time we were there(three weeks ago). Won't be back for a while. Judging by the lack of patrons, I'm not the only one. Waitress was more attentive in eating her lunch with the crew instead of customary asking if she could get us anything or check on us. The new 2for1 on limited schedule cannot compete with even the raggedy Chili's across the street....

The grilled wings are the star of any Gators dockside. But this one has a great atmosphere for sports. Be sure to come on Monday for AYCE wings. They need better beer specials though.

Horrible service!!!! Took forever to see the waitress once seated, then she forgot to ring in our appetizer and came back to the table and said "oops I forgot and it may come out after your meal". Then to top it off, she came by after we got our food and asked how it was and our response was "I will never get it again" and she said "oh, I've never had it" and walked away. The correct response should have been "I'm sorry, let me get you something else" or something along those terms but that was never offered. We paid our full bill and left and will never be back!!

Not impressed. After being seated we waited about 10 minutes for our waitress to come get our drink order. When she finally came to get our food order, I ordered a cob salad. When the salad finally came (25 minute wait for two salads) came the chicken was very cold. I asked the waitress and she said the kitchen cooks the chicken in the morning then keeps it in the refrigerator because if they had to do it fresh then they would be cooking chicken all day. Shocked!! Then there was no avocado. When I told the waitress she just apologized that it wasn't right. Bad experience and the waitress could have cared less. They were out of 3 beers on tap. Probably won't be going back.

I was very surprised and happy about this place. I've heard about this place my whole Highschool life and never went. But we were looking for a Sunday place to eat and heard this place was good. I was skeptical cause it's like judging a book by it's cover cause the outside could use a little more umph haha but when I walked in I was blown away. It was nice and open , clean and had a very dockside feel like you do most places like this. We're seated super quickly and our waitress came quickly. I wish I caught her name cause she was the best waitress I've seen in a while. Short blonde hair almost a bob. Was the perfect balance between attentive and leaving the table alone. I ordered chicken and waffles. Omg foodgasm on a waffle. It's super messy so don't eat it on a first date but I'd order it again and again ! So freaking yummy. Doused in syrup and sugar powder. She was awesome on filling up drinks and keeping conversation I loved our waitress. I would totally come back and bring my friends for a night of drinks. Fast , good service. Clean , attentive staff and dining area. Yummy and quick to serve food. Clean bathrooms which is a BONUS point From me. Did I mention yummy food ?(; everything was amazing !!!! All these low stars are highly talked about rated low. I don't know why but this place is amazing. Y'all are confused haha.

Very clean and open compared to other locations. Servers are very kind and attentive. All the games and news are one and when there's a big game this is the place to go. Food wise comes out quick, nice and hot. The chicken and waffles there was so yummy. The chicken not to dry and not to breaded. The shrimp and lobster dip the day I ordered it was a bit dried but still quite tasty with pita chips

This is one of those restaurants you have to come back to because of the atmosphere and the food. We ordered the nachos as our appetizer and the portion we got was way more than enough to share with 4 people. My husband and I shared the Gator Platter which has a half rack of ribs, 5 wings and fried gator tail with 2 sides and garlic bread. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the crispy wings with chipotle honey bbq sauce had the perfect kick of spice! The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the gator tail was so big and tough you could barely chew it. We will be back! -- Just not for gator!

  • Kellyy M.

Ordered take out for my family. Not only did we not get what we ordered, but our wings were so saturated in the wrong sauce, they were inedible. You couldn't even taste the chicken. This resturaunt used to be really good, but has went to the dogs!! I highly suggest eating elswhere.

WILL NOT GO BACK... Ok. Im gonna be a jerk here but oh well, truth hurts. We asked nicely for a stool with a back for my lady. The stools at the high tops do not have backs. The EMPTY bar had nice chairs with backs so we asked our waitress nicely if we could use one. She was very nice, said yes and proceeded to get one for us. The jackass bartender jumped down her throat and practically yelled at her to NOT MOVE THE STOOLS! I felt terrible for her. Excuse me Mr Bartender for maybe taking one of your customers spots for 15 minutes. Oh wait, the bar was empty.. Then, i just had to know, so i asked the manager what gives... His answer, "well then everyone would want to do it".. Are you freaking kidding me???? Give me a better excuse than that.. One more thing.. They add the ACA surcharge to your check.. I wont even get started on my feelings on that. I wish i woulda known about this beforehand..http://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/2014/03/02/florida-sports-bar-scores-controversy-with-obamacare-surcharge-on-meals/ On a side note. The food was great.. What a shame.

My sister in law and my 5 week old baby went here for lunch. The staff was very nice and professional. They were able to accommodate us even with a carseat. Great atmosphere, clean environment, and our server was great. We started off with the shrimp and crab dip by far the best seafood dip I have had so far, and we got the six wing special which came with a side. The garlic parmesan sauce was delicious!

Wish I could give a lower review. Used to be one of my favorite places but went downhill for some unknown reason. Plan on getting horrible service IF you ever get served at all.

  • Karin D.

I will never go back to this place. I live very close so I have tried multiple times to give this another chance and it's bad every time. The food is so average that I would rather go across the street to McDonald's and spend 6 bucks on a value meal. The worst experience I had here was when my friend and I wanted to go somewhere to watch a game. The bartender was rude from the moment we sat down and acted like we were a huge inconvenience to him. We ordered a beer and chips and salsa. The salsa was from a jar and freezing and the chips were horrible. We didn't bother getting anything else and left to go to millers. It's sad because this is a great location and could be so much better if they tried with the food.
