My husband and I were visiting from out of town and looked for a place to have a couple beers. The draw here is the amazing beer selection. I'm not a beer drinker AT ALL but I still found things that were good...try the mead or ciders, they don't disappoint. The bartenders were friendly and prompt...gave some great recommendations. My only gripes are as follows: when you're in a place that only serves booze, you expect there to be SOMEthing on the bar to eat. Peanuts, popcorn, pretzels...something cheap but salty to keep you thirsty. I also found it to be a lot like a college place...and by that, I mean at 5 minutes till closing we were told to finish our beers and get out. At other establishments, they usually have last call and are cool if you stay a few minutes late to finish your glass...these people kick you out, which I find to be supremely poor customer service. I get it...you want to go home. But at least don't be rude about telling everyone it's closing time.

Dahlia's, to me, is like the Jacksonville version of a good English Pub. You have to order at the bar just like any English Pub. It also is not really trying to be anything other than a place to grab a pint with some friends and maybe meet some new ones. I enjoy that their is plenty of seats and tables, and that I have never had a difficult time finding a place to sit. I also love the board games. I am a little concerned that Beertleship was missing from the front area of Dahlia's on my last visit. Beertleship was a nice twist on the classic game of Battleship and I hope it is just having some cosmetic procedures done and will be back in action. Of course, I haven't even mentioned the amazing beer selection. Dahlia's has one of the best selections of beer in the city! The bartenders have always been helpful with recommendations for new beers to try based on ones that I already liked. If you are someone who is new to craft beers, then this is the place I would recommend trying, since there is something on draft for every palate.

This place can be a 3-5 star, depending on what your favorite bar scene is. If you like beer a lot, you'll really like this place. If you prefer some hard liquor, they don't have any. But the atmosphere is always fun. The jukebox is loud and a wide variety of music gets played. There are all different kinds of people there, like the hipsters, to the random guy who just finished his construction job and likes to dance to rap music by himself, to the random dude in the corner who likes to just sit there while nodding his head and trying to look cool, to people playing board games, people playing beer pong, and people watching sports on one of the many TVs. LOTS of different beer selection on tap, but they were out of Miller Lite. If you are a beer snob, then you probably wouldn't want a Miller Lite when in a place with 10 million kinds of beers anyway.

After going to dinner down here with my boo one night, we were searching around for a new place to grab a beer. I Yelped upon this pour house and I was so happy! They have a marvelous choice of 80 beers on tap with a loud hilarious bartender to serve them to you. A great selection of board games, ping pong, and BEERtleship (a huge life size version of Battleship). One of the many awesome drinking places in town.

Me gusta. Diverse selection for those who love beer. For those who don't, they always have a couple ciders available as well. Very good prices given the types of beers offered. Really good service. Even when it's crowded, it doesn't feel cramped or stuffy. They have games and pool. Once I walked over to Carmine's and brought back a pizza. Solid. I've been here during the day, at night, during the week, etc. Good addition to the area.

Awesome unique beer selection in the local riverside area of Jacksonville. Delicious beer and good vibes there. It was a little too dark so I couldn't see some of my friends while trying to make conversation But it's pretty cool they have darts to okay inside and pool tables. I went on a Saturday night and the music was really good and set the tone of the place. Prices are average. Unless you get whatever specials they have. It's a great place on the hipster side of town if you wanna grab a unique beer before starting the rest of your night.

I like local beers and Dahlia's pretty much has them all. If you like variety in your alcohol -- and don't mind that alcohol being beer (or recently a very few wines) -- this is your place. There are 80+ beers on tap regularly. The bartenders are good about letting you have a sample or two before you settle on something awesome... and you're bound to find something awesome! As to the wines, they have an interesting setup that I (darn the bad luck!) will have to go back to try. There's a vending machine setup with open bottles of wine with a straw in them that sucks the wine out of the bottle and dispenses it into a glass you get from the bar. First, I'm not sure how long they've been open; that's a downside. They have a decent selection for a beer-mostly place: about fifteen varieties in varying shades of red and white. And the setup is new to me, so I'm willing to give it a go on a night that's less busy (we were there on a Saturday) so that I can a little more learn about it.

I came here for their wine tasting and mainly to spend some quality time with my sister. Very interesting vibe here, but maybe that's because I went on Wine Wednesday. Not sure. Honestly, the wine pours from the machines are pretty lame. Now I don't mind paying $3.50 for a glass of wine, but not for the amount you get. Definitely NOT acceptable and you're better off sticking with the beer on tap if you go. Horrible. We decided to go with a "fruit" theme. I chose my standard grapefruit beer in a can (Stiegl Radler) and my sister got the Banana beer on draft. My beer needed to be chilled in the freezer, but the Banana beer was pretty good. Our bartender was really nice, but service was unbelievably slow and I shouldn't have to wait for my beer to "get cold" in any establishment with "pour house" in its name. But hey, good thing I wasn't trying to catch a buzz... Overall, it's a great space in an awesome location. They just need ample people on staff when they have event nights and someone needs to recalibrate those wine machines because they are a total, utter rip-off.

A dive bar with nearly 100 taps, quantity over quality. Ambiance is pool bar, darts, casual, unassuming. Some interesting finds on tap though with Green Room, Cigar City, Swamp Head, and I'm sure Bold City and Intuition. Overall less impressive thank Kickbacks across the street plus this place does not serve food and the ambiance is not as good. Bright, industrial lighting was a little bizarre for a dive bar. Prices are low and the bartender was kind, though no beer expert. Didn't seem like you could get taster size pours so get ready to get a bunch of random drafts and share them around I guess. One thing to note is that there isn't so much overlap on the taplist here with Kickback's, so it is definitely worth a peek in after a Kickbacks night to see what is up and maybe play some pool. Fun place overall.

Bartenders are quick and friendly. Always willing to let you sample a beer before committing to a full glass. Thursday they have trivia night 730-930 Wednesday they have a running club that allows $1 off beer.

  • Kyle W.

Trivia on Thursdays are a great time and you can win house cash, there is beer pong, pool and even ping-pong. 85 taps plus a bottle selection makes for an awesome draft house. Going on three years running this joint has grown into it's shoes. They even added a wine dispensary. If only the locals would band together and help the owner put through her efforts to build a roof top bar it would be THE go-to destination for craft ale in Riverside. Call me a fan.

Met up with some fellow Yeeps here for an after after party and I had a really good time. I hate beer, but love Lambik and Dahlia's totally had me covered because they had a Cherry Lambik with my name all over it! Yay! I was one happy camper! This is a nice large kinda divey type bar. Plenty of room to move around in. A lot of long tables which is perfect if you have a lot of friends in your party. They have a nice long bar with plenty of stools. Lots of beer on tap, so if you're really into beer, this is definitely the place for you. Music was playing from a jukebox. I don't see too many of those that often anymore. It was loud, but not too terrible loud that we couldn't hear one another. Ok, maybe we did have to raise our voices a little bit to hear one another, but I have definitely been in much louder bars. Make sure to check out the cigarette machine in the back. Totally cool and totally retro! How often do you see actual working cigarette machines anymore? Uhhh... like never. I think the last one I saw was maybe in the early 90s? Could have been the late 80s. I'm not real sure... most of the 80s and early 90s are all a blur to me! LOL They also have a couple of pool tables and dart boards, if that's your thing. They definitely need to fix the lock on the door to the ladies room. I totally went busting into the bathroom on poor Allie! LOL But hey, at least it was me and not some total stranger! LOL I recommend Dahlia's. It's a cool place to have a drink and chill for a while. It's definitely one of my more favourite bars in the King Street District. BTW: They get the extra 4th star from me because they have Lambik!!!! You can't find that stuff just anywhere!

I have passed Dahlias many-a-time and wondered what was it like inside this "divey" bar with the grandiose windows exposing the tall mural-covered walls. I got my chance when Dahlias Pour House graciously hosted our Karaoke fundraiser for the 48 Hour Film Festival! They offered a $1 off all drafts for our team and didn't kick us out even when suffering through the off-key renditions of Brittney Spears and ABBA. And while the music was painful to hear, BOY did we have a great time paying money to hear our friends sing embarrassing songs like, "It's Raining Men!" Dahlias boasts 85 different beer and cider on tap and it is one of the few locations in town to serve Sombersby! Somersby is the best Cider I've ever had in America. It has a clean, crisp green apple flavor that's incredibly smooth. I also ordered a Cappuccino Stout. While the beer wasn't as cold as I am accustomed to, I liked that it was served in a snifter. I also love how Dahlias has a new special nightly, Tuesdays are $3 Woodchucks and a Pool Tournament buy-in for $10! In the past I have been awed and enticed to join their weekly Wednesday night "Running Club"....except for the fact you are supposed to actually run (or walk) a 5K. You are rewarded at the end with promises of rehydration of "great craft brews! There is a one time, $5 entry fee. After your 10th run you get a free 50K Running t-shirt!" As soon as they start a Bicycle Club, I'm in! Near the front doors there was an interesting game of Battleship called "Beer-Ship" (it looked like two cubicles conjoined with a tall divider.) I *think* the game includes shots of beer in lieu of "ships." I'm not exactly sure how to play but it's a GREAT incentive to go back and try! I later read an article that they also serve pizza and popcorn but I didn't see any that night (and I didn't know to ask.) I can't wait to bring another group of friends to Dahlias for some pizza and cold beer to enjoy over an intense game of Beer-Ship! .

This is a great addition to the Park & King area. There are many beers on tap here, including many local beers. What I enjoyed most was that they had quite a few ciders on tap and some of them I had never seen before on tap in North Florida. They have many table games available and also a pool table. I think this is a great place to spend a relaxing evening with friends. They were out of my favorite Swamp Head Cottonmouth so I am glad I have an excuse to go back soon.

Cool set up. I like the big scattered tables which allow plenty of friends to gather. The juke box can be a bit loud for conversation. I love all the games- darts, pool, pingpong, as well as board games. The selection on draft is pretty great. Hoping for more porters and stouts on another visit. Bar tenders were courteous and quick.

I really like this place. Wish it had arrived sooner in the area. It fits right in with the atmosphere of all the other dive bars around king street. Excellent beer selection and priced fairly decent. You'll be looking around $5.50-$7.00 bucks for a good craft beer, and for the cheap drinkers PBR comes in at $3.00. They have some TVs, board games, connect 4, beer pong, table tennis, and two pool tables. Very open, clean, and a handful of different types of people come here.

Must drink beer... I mean there is so much of it. It makes the beer feel bad if you don't. If you've taken the time to find parking - and hopefully parked legally - celebrate your victory and grab a beer. Bartender seemed grey. (Yup just like the color.) It was a late Sunday and my guess is he'd had his fill of people for the day and was counting the time to leave. He wasn't rude just wasn't personable. I was tempted to order a club soda. But just asked what's their best beer. He filled me in - thoroughly. The bartender is definitely knowledgeable. Which reminds me there are a bunch of events throughout the week - Thursday starting at 7:30 is their Trivia Night. The atmosphere is divey? But a few tvs over the bar game me a nice distraction while others piled around to watch some ping pong tournament. If you like beer you should probably come here.

If you love beer, this is your place. The staff has always been friendly and genuine. They are either really good at their job or just awesomely kick ass people. Probably both. They have tons of activities to keep you busy - sorry the fun escapes me right now as I have never enjoyed them myself. I think they have shuffleboard. I know they have pool and darts. The jukebox has a nice variety.

85 beers on tap. Fun games at each table. Pool tables. A very cool digital jukebox. Almost all the things needed for a fun night out. We ventured into Dahlia's after hitting up a couple of other King Street locations, so we may have been just a *little* tipsy by that point. But we indeed continued to have a great time! I love the nice long bar and bonus for the ladies.... purse hooks. Gotta love a place that has purse hooks. :) While there isn't a whole lot to say, if you are a beer drinker, the selections are fantastic and seemed to be a pretty chill crowd. Dahlia's also hosts some fun events during the week I plan on checking out as well.

I want to like Dahlia's a bit more. Great beer selection, and friendly staff, but it kind of ends there. The lights are always on... almost like you're in a showroom. If you're looking to sit down anywhere away from the bar, you can look forward to cramped seating that doesn't really make sense. If no one puts money in the Jukebox... the music stops. Awkward silence ensues. Pool Tables and Table Tennis are both available, which is great, but probably why they insist on keeping the entire bar completely lit. There are definitely better ways of keeping the game tables lit while creating a decent environment. Over all, it feels like you're drinking in your weird friend's renovated garage. That's not always a bad thing, but certainly not a place you'd expect to pay for beer. Especially when there are so many great options in the area.

Excellent happy hour... super chill... great service if you aren't a douche. Great variety of brew's. Personally, I'm an IPA fan and have done some serious drinking in Germany so I can be on the pretentious side when it comes to beer varietals (at least I'm aware of it). This place has a respectable collection, but might be out of one or two of your top choices... However, if you chill out and go with the flow this place is perfecto. Excellent bartenders (as long as you're just getting beer) and very chill atmosphere. Pretty solid happy hour specials. Billards, ping pong and good priced (but good) beer. I recommend.

Beer Heaven? Pretty much! I love it when a place devotes themselves so fully to one product like this. You come here for beer. There's no other real reason to come here, but what more do you really need? All of my trips other than a fundraiser have had me as one of the only people in the bar... either a weekday happy hour or barely after they open their doors on a weekend. From the stories I hear about how busy it gets, I can definitely say I'm glad this is the case. The happy hour price is great, $4 for almost any draft beer. You can't go wrong with that!!! The fact they had my absolute favorite seasonal on tap when I went yesterday only helped my feelings towards the place. The bartenders are usually pretty helpful in finding a new beer to try, and have been very patient when I try beer after beer til I find something to my liking. My only gripe would be the decor is pretty sparse and uninspired. It feels like you're having beers in your friend's garage... and that's not really a bad thing so long as you're in groups. I give it four stars for having an amazing beer selection and an excellently priced happy hour.

Huge Selection of beers on tap as well and can/bottle. Friendly staff and plenty of cool events throughout the week. They also have a pool table, ping-pong table and a variety of board games to play while enjoying your brew. Your allowed to bring outside food and Carmines is within walking distance so order a pie (or 2) to bring with you!

Dahlia's is a cool, eclectic, little addition to Riverside. With high wooden ceilings, a gamut of games, even more beer, and music cranked through a jukebox, this spot is pretty unique for the neighborhood. I stopped in for a beer last weekend after dinner and found a sizable crowd playing bar games and chatting over microbrews. Someone had apparently hijacked the jukebox with a "Best of 2009 Country Songs" playlist, which wouldn't have been my pick. Fortunately after a few Blake Shelton songs, Queen's Fat Bottom Girls came on and all was right with the world. I ordered a Raspberry Snake Bite from the bartender after perusing the extensive draft selection. That's a half and half pour of Guinness and a cider, in this case a raspberry one. This draft is a little tricky to pour because, ideally, you want the Guinness to sit on top of the cider, maintaining separation. The bartender explained they were having trouble with the Guinness, which is a relatively common occurrence for this finicky pour. Still, he gave it a try and it turned out not half bad. As we drank, we played ping pong, chatted, and watched a surprisingly impressive hula hooper casually hooping in front of the jukebox as she sipped her beer. Some guys jumped in for an ill-fated attempt that proved to at least be entertaining. We left after one beer to head to the next place, but I was glad we stopped in Dahlia's for a post-dinner and pre-bar pit stop. I'll be back, and next time I'm definitely playing that Beer Battleship game!

I love the fact that their beer menu is composed mainly of microbrews; many of them from the north Florida region! It's located in the historic district, so the atmosphere is absolutely stellar! They have a number of random games in the place which provides some good drunken entertainment. I highly recommend "pint night" which is held every Tuesday. You can drink the beer of the week, and collect a few glasses while your at it!

Usually a go to. BUT last night was a disappointment. Chick at the bar couldn't name a lager out of 50 beers and the other dude behind the bar skipped one of my juke box songs. With all the options in town I won't be back unless convenience over powers taste.

I Will NEVER Return. Had been there once before and service was poor, however good selection of draft beers at reasonable prices. Went there on Monday, 9/24/12 at 3:55 PM. Door was open however an employee said they did not open till 4 pm. I said can you just pour me a draft. He said "no, we do not open till 4 pm." Last time I will go there. I guess they do not need my business. If I could give them a Zero (0) I would.

I really love dahlias! I've lived in riverside almost 3 years now and this is for sure a go to spot for me when I want a good beer and friendly service. I'm always able to find a beer that I can fall in love with. The bartenders are always so super friendly too and always make me feel welcome. A few beers on a Sunday afternoon and some pool? Dahlias has me locked in. I only wish that they had some better happy hour specials. My pockets are a little too light every time I walk out of there! But overall dahlias has become a riverside staple and the place to be to hang out and enjoy some beer with excellent service.

I had an awesome time at the 'after party'... As always, it was great to see everyone who showed up for drinks and socializing at the after party. Dahlias pour house has a pretty laid back atmosphere... The bartenders were nice and very attentive making sure that drinks were refilled quickly... There are board games and pool tables for those of you who want to play games while drinking!! If you're in the area and looking for a place to have drinks, I would suggest you give this place a try!
