I was at work today and looking for a new place for lunch in Julington Creek area. I have been trying all sorts of places looking for some good food. Not a lot to choose from in the area. Today I took a short cut around some holiday traffic and came upon Benito's. I figured what the heck and a good friend Vanessa said it was pretty good. I will say that the place is very small and sometimes that's a really good thing. I love hole in the walls places. I looked at their menu and went with the special of the day. Sausage sub an a salad for like 6 bucks. I will say that the salad was a salad but my sub was really good. A giant amount of cheese and a pretty good marinara sauce a top a nicely toasted roll. I did really like the sausage it had good snap to the casings and the right amounts of seasonings on the insides. In all a good place for lunch when I head to the supply house before lunch.

Stopped in for lunch and I'm so happy I did! ! I got a lunch special, 1/2 meatball sub and salad, for 6$$! And! It was so good! I'm picky about my Italian food, and this was delish! The salad was nothing special, but the sub was! The bread was just prefect, the meatballs, mozzarella, and marinara worked together wonderful. Just yes, I will definitely be back for some dinner next time!

He's baaaack! Benito used to be in the Mandarin area. It was one of my favorites. To my dismay he moved to St. Augustine but now he's back and just as good as he ever was. I had the mussels and garlic sauce. Yum Yum Yum! My husband had a chicken parm. He loved it. The garlic toast was just the way garlic toast should be. Buttery and full of garlic. Don't leave without trying the tiramisu. To die for! I'm not quite sure what all the fuss is about regarding gluten but for those who need gluten-free he does have gluten free pizza. I just love when I can post a positive review!

Small place but wow. I had the wedding soup, I don't really like wedding soup but it came with meal so I thought I can pick on it while my food was being cooked, I ate the whole thing. It was that good. While your waiting for your meal order the fried mozzarella, fresh and tasty. I ordered the veal parmesan and it was very good....can't wait to try more menu items.

This place is great! Inside the restaurant is small, clean, and cozy with some nice music playing in the background. Food was excellent. Bruschetta, salad with house dressing, calzone, eggplant Parmesan, all were fantastic. A must try in mandarin. Will definitely be returning for seconds.

What can I say about Benito's that hasn't been said already? The pasta is always fresh the soups are delicious and the sauces from marinara to Alfredo can't be beat! This small but welcoming location is in a plaza, but you think it was in a stand-alone building by itself based on the type of food that comes out of that kitchen. The owner and his wife are always pleasant to their customers and have a lot of love and care for what comes out on that plate. From my first experience to my most recent have all been phenomenal and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic, delicious Italian experience. #PastaLover #italianfood

The food here is amazing. Benito cooks it all from scratch and it's some serious, authentic Italian. I've had both pizza and pasta dishes, and all of it was excellent. The flavors are hearty and and spiced perfectly. It's a very cozy little place with friendly staff and a nice welcoming atmosphere. I really love the white garlic pizza, the stuffed spinach pizza, and the lasagna is DELICIOUS! Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Best Italian Food in Jacksonville! I've been looking for italian food in the Mandarin/Fruit Cove area and finally found Benito's! I'm from the northeast and I LOVE Benito's NJ/NYC style pizza. I also really enjoyed their eggplant parmesan dish! Can't wait to come back and try more.

I was sad to see Benito's leave Vilano Beach, and I'm so glad he's back! His pizza is amazing, and it's not just Florida pizza good. It's better than pizza I've had up north. Benito's is a must go! Also, they have gluten free pizza now for customers with celiac or a gluten sensitivity! Before they offered gluten free pizza they made a custom salad for my mother. They basically put a steak hoagie on top of a salad. The staff will make anything for you. If you're looking for great pizza, head on to Benito's. You won't find better pizza in the Jacksonville area.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
