Outstanding!! We wanted a better priced lunch than the food court at the mall. So I #yelpeditout (that's my phrase, don't steal it). We came to Benitio's and had a great lunch. Our server was really nice and friendly. We ordered calamari fritti for an appetizer. The marinara sauce that came with it was really fresh. We had a large pizza and it was bigger than what I expected. We will be back.

Tried this place on a friend's recommendation. Food was excellent! I had the pasta sampler. Takeout service at the bar was a little slow despite calling in my order ahead of time. I'll definitely be back.

Let me start off by saying that this place is special to my wife and I as this is where we had our first official date. That being said, we have gone back a few more times and have never been disappointed in the service or the food. They have a good selection of the typical Italian dishes, and also have a few that you may not be as familiar with. The staff there are helpful in helping you with any questions that you may have, and are very friendly. The garlic rolls they serve to you at the beginning of the meal are dangerously good, and they will keep coming if you let them. The portions are huge, packed with flavor and fresh. You won't be disappointed. Go and try it out, and then head to the movies afterwards. It is right next door. A perfect date night (or lunch) location.

Went for the lunch buffet on Saturday, enjoyed the food and service very much! Next time, we plan to try something off the regular menu, but were in a hurry, so the buffet was the right choice. The food tasted pretty fresh, which at a buffet can be hard to come by. The waitress was nice, and she brought our drinks quickly. Can't wait to go back next time we are in town!

BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!! Waitress name Tina, long black hair is scamming customers!!!!! Make sure to check your receipt AFTER you give card especially if you paid in cash. I went there with my mom this Friday and my bill came out to 48.06 I paid 28 dollars in cash and ask for the rest to put on my card. She brought another receipt for 24.06 with the food split on the receipt. I did not ask her to split the receipts I ask her to do two different payment methods. So I wondered where did the extra four dollars came from also I wondered where was my receipt for the cash I paid. I did not get a receipt for the cash, Tina never came back to the table we waited but she never came. So we decided to leave and speak to a manager. We shall see

Really fresh food. Great red sauce. I'm not an Italian guy but this was good. Huge jumbo shrimp cocktail. Very large portions, had to take some home for work lunch. Wife loved the food as she's the Italian one in our family. We will be back.

We went for dinner and it was excellent. It was a Monday evening and the place was empty but it was a pleasant surprise. The waitress was super helpful and gave us some amazing recommendations. The garlic bread she brought out melted in your mouth. Delicious. The pasta was fresh and wasn't too heavy or greasy. One person got the lasagne and said it was amazing. Perfect mix of meat, cheese, noodle, and sauce. I got a penne pasta with tomatoes, olive oil, fresh mozzerella, basil, and shrimp. Fresh, delicious and light. We will definitely be heading back next time we are in town. Reasonably priced, huge portions, and delicious.

Just try the lasagna. The sauce is not strongly seasoned allowing you to enjoy the flavor of the meat and the blend of a variety of cheeses. The garlic bread is awesome. Money well spend.

We were craving Italian this weekend and decided to give Benitos a try. We went there for a late lunch (around 2 PM) and were surprised that while the place was not packed, there were a good numbers of patrons there. Good sign for a buffet. We did take a look at the menu, but after looking at the selection at the buffet, we both opted for it. There were pizza, several chicken and fish dishes, pastas, just to name a few. Everything tasted pretty decent and though some looked to have been sitting under that heat lamp for a little long, none were bad per se. For a buffet, it was pretty good value for the price they charged. Oh and the garlic bread they provided was excellent. I would go back again for the buffet if I am craving for Italian and wanted a number of dishes to try. A fan because of the selection and the value you get for the price.

This place was recommended by my boss at us xpress which is down the street. They have a good lunch buffet. The garlic bread was great. Good service. Nice bar & atmosphere in the place. Food was good buffet price was fine. Not a bad little place for lunch. Parking for semi truck bobtail only in large lot next door. Movie theater lot.

Hands down the best Italian food I've had in Jacksonville. We go at least once, if not twice a week!! The white pizza is to die for. The dollops of fresh ricotta cheese is what really makes it. The pasta dishes are also fresh and delicious. I've never had a bad thing on the menu and the service is excellent. They had closed for a couple of months and we would sadly drive by every so often just waiting on them to reopen. It's better than ever!!!

For a "pizzeria", Benitos does very well. Having eaten here on a number of occasions over the space of 3 or 4 years, I can say they consistently deliver quality and good service. On the latest visit, we had a party of 5 and the special was exceptional - shrimp and scallops in pesto cream sauce over pasta. Really nice. Everyone in the party commented on how good their selections were, including the home made salad dressings and the house made minestrone. You can eat here confidently, expecting good food and good service.

I love their garlic bread! Fresh baked... I ate the eggplant dish (I forgot the name of it)... Good portions, it will fill you up. I'd eat there again. :)

Amazing food. We ordered the rollatini eggplant and were in awe of how good it was. The bread was great and so was my minestrone. Prices are fair and service was great too. I definitely recommend it.

I wanted to try the buffet at this Benito's location so I hopped in about 1:35pm. This was just short of the 2pm buffet shut down mark. Most of the time when you come at the latter end of a buffet you get slim pickens, but there was still a good selection of pastas and pizza available. Some of the pasta's were a little over cooked at this late hour of my arrival. There was large Stuffed Shells in marinara, Chicken Marsala - not my favorite as the chicken itself did not have a great deal of flavor, tortellini in red cream sauce, a very rich and creamy chicken carbonara, (it didn't look very pretty due to my late arrival to the buffet, but this was my favorite in taste!!) Fresh baked herb rolls, lasagna, grouper caprese and an absolutely delicious pizza! The salad bar here was Pristine! Overall, a pretty good buffet, but to hit this carbo-ladened gem it may be best to get here around the 11:00am mark to hit these foods while they are at their peak of freshness. Buffet is 11:00am - 2:00pm throughout the week.

What a fun place! The buffet is $5.95 for lunch and $9.95 for dinner! The restaurant is inviting and makes you want to go in. I ran in for takeout after a movie at Regal, so I didn't get to try the buffet. But I will be back!! With an expandable wasteline in my pants! I ordered the Fetticine Alfredo and It was divine. Egg noodles sauteed in a cream sauce and parmigiano cheese. The sauce was silky and had the right amout of Parmigiano cheese in it. We are talking could have bathed in it! The pasta was al dente, but not crunchy. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is definitely a place where I cuold hang out, eat pasta and drink wine!

I eat here for lunch a couple times a month. The lunch buffet is well stocked and tasty. Selections change daily, but you can generally expect to find some combination of lasagne, baked ziti, stuffed shells, stuffed peppers, chicken picatta, chicken marsala, baked fish, mixed vegetables, bread, pizza, and a well stocked salad bar. Menu service is also available, I've never been disappointed with anything ordered off the menu. Adequate parking, you can stop in before or after taking in a show at the Regal Cinemas next door.

The staff is pretty good but the chicken parmagiana is to die for!!! I am not a big fan of buffets but they have lots of items to choose from and you simply cannot beat their lunch special prices! I go at least twice a month. YUM

Their buffet needs much improvement to my taste, service is fair at best. Price is more than other Italian buffets in Jax. Pizza is a '3' out of a possible 10 . My spaghetti was dry (No: not aldente), and meat balls were tiny. First time here for a quick lunch, but will not go back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
