High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. Enjoyed our visit to Applebee's at Town Center Parkway. Brandon took very good care of us. Hubby had the American burger and I had the Signature sandwich...both were great! Afterwards Brandon suggested the brownie bites...They were warm and delicious... Very nice outing!

Q: What is a burger without bacon? A: meaty betrayal. I've lived in Florida for almost 3-years now and I'm still slowly-but-surely working through all the fast food options available to me and I've finally checked Applebee's off my list. The Hublet and I had just finished raiding Total Wine when my stomach growled at us. Upon checking the time we realised that it was long past sensible-dinner-o'clock and we were firmly in overdue-meal-o'clock. Being right smack next to an Applebee's (and having already tried The Loop and the other nearby offerings) helped make the decision for us. We had a little bit of a wait to be seated, however it was gone 8pm on a Friday night so the place was unsurprisingly busy. The Hublet ordered the Appetizer Sampler platter to share while we decided on our entree. The sampler included: 4x Mozzarella sticks with a marinara dipping sauce: not too greasy, not too bland, fairly tasty and honestly better than I was expecting. 6x Boneless wings: we chose the spicy buffalo sauce. The sauce was a little too reminiscent of a Chinese sweet&sour pork dish and forgettable, but the wings were well cooked - although the nugget-esque pieces varied in size a little too much, which resulted in a small, violent knife fight for the last undersized piece. 4x Cheese Quesadilla Grande with a sour cream dipping sauce: tasty, hot, did the job. Spinach & Artichoke dip with nachos: nice balance of spinach & artichoke, fairly tasty. The Hublet ordered 4-Cheese Mac&Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders & bacon ($13.99) and I ordered their Cowboy Burger with crispy onion strings, melted white cheddar, bacon and the usual burger extras including fries & a pickle ($9.99). I'm always a grump about ordering pasta, which is why I so rarely frequent Italian restaurants. In my mind, I'm getting charged a ridiculous amount for something that invariably looks and tastes equal to or lesser than a pasta dish I could have whipped up at home. I'm waiting for an Italian restaurant to prove me wrong. Unfortunately, The Hublet's 4-Cheese M&C did nothing to prove me wrong. The sauce was nicely cheesy BUT it was a $14 plate of supermarket quality pasta spirals with a rich, cheesy sauce and was way too overpriced for what it was. The tenders on top were overdone and dry and did nothing to justify the price. There was also no bacon to be found on the plate: absolutely no porky deliciousness hiding under a chicken tender or behind a pile of pasta. My Cowboy Burger honestly looked gorgeous BUT there was no bacon and no pickle and therefore I resisted taking a bite until my burger was complete. I'm not sure what bacon emergency Applebee's was experiencing as bacon was missing from both of our meals. I told our server and a small plate containing 3 pieces of bacon eventually arrived and I could commence my meal. Honestly, the burger was delicious. I don't even mind the pickle absence as I always pick them out and eat them separately. A really tasty meat patty with raw red onion, which I love with my burgers, and the added indulgence of bacon. Our server was a bit slow to check up on us and our drink levels got a bit low. When it came time to pay we waiting a fairly long time for the check and even longer for our creditcard to be collected, however I can forgive a lot of this as it was the Town Center on a Friday night and was fairly busy. The food was fairly good, the service was forgivably slow, the pasta was just as overpriced and underwhelming as you'd expect from anything that wasn't your own kitchen, my burger was pretty decent ONCE THE BACON ARRIVED,. Overall, I'd happily turn to Applebee's whenever I needed an urgent appetite filler, however I wouldn't make any big effort to seek them out and there wasn't any one thing that I ate during my visit that I couldn't find elsewhere. This is definitely more of a place of convenience than a dinner destination but is undoubtedly a great place for a quick, cheap lunch or dinner.

I went with my boyfriend a few minutes before ten. The hostess was rude. She asked us if a table was okay when there were so many booths available. My boyfriend asked her about the Late Nite deal, where all appetizers are half off at 10. She just asked us, "well what time is it?". It was like 9:47. So she said "it's not then". Girlllll, did you have a rough day? She needs her attitude checked. So when our waitress came by, we told her what happened and she gave us a booth and even offered us something to compensate for it. She was very friendly. We decided to wait until 10. The worst part was having to wait more than 40 minutes for our food. The restaurant was not even too busy. When it finally came, I didn't know if the food was good or if it was just me being hungry. But nonetheless, it satisfied us both.

I come here to have two for one drinks ALL THE TIME. If I'm hungry, I grub down on some artichoke dip which is tasty, or, the quesadilla burger. Good to soak up booze. Good late night bar staff. Who knows about the wait staff.... Not me

I have been to a lot of Applebee's and I must say this one is the worst I have ever eaten at. The bad experience started when the server brought us a dirty glass of water not once but twice the second glass had what seem to be an insect. We continued to wait for our order despite the dirty glasses of ice water. The experience came to a head when they brought the spinach dip to our table not only was it burned it appeared to have been cooked yesterday we couldn't take it we kindly got our things and left. Beware this is not your typical Applebee's.

We got seated quick, but it took 15 minutes to get noticed by a waitress. I ordered a cheeseburger just the way I liked it, and twenty minutes later I received a cheeseburger... Just the way THEY wanted. But it's Applebee's. You cut them the same slack as you would...Walmart.

We were actually hell bent on going to Chipotle but it was closed for 4th of July so we saw Applebee's and that was the perfect 2nd choice! Audrey was our server and she was very attentive to us. The meals were delicious and hot when they were served. This was a great visit.

Worst experience ever at an Applebee's. My party which was only 3 ppl and 1 kid waited over 15 mins for our drinks (sprite, sweet tea, and 2 waters) the sweet tea tasted like it was brewed a day ago and the water tastes funny also. Now on to the food.. The kids meal came out first after 30 mins (grilled chicken & mashed potatoes) the chicken was cold and the mashed potatoes had plastic in it. My nephew ate the mashed potatoes and pulled out a piece of plastic about 2 inches long. The management there is a joke also, he's walking around to make sure everyone is good but he's not even paying attention to what your saying. He's just giving generic answers. He didn't even apologize about the plastic in my nephews mashed potatoes, all he said was "I'll take it off of your check". As for my food, I ordered the four Mac and cheese, bacon, and chicken tenders and the macaroni wasn't even cooked all the way and it took over an hour to receive out food. Very disappointed at this location. I would not recommend at all

You know, I used to love Applebee's. It used to be my jam. But now I feel like I've graduated in a sense from this establishment. Nevertheless, absolutely top notch service, great decor, and a wide menu. Plus the price is right. If nothing else is open, I'd come here. 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding down.

Graduate department decided to do a meet and greet here. It was close to campus and relatively cheap. We get there and learn department chairs are covering the cost so some decide to load up on appetizers and get smashed on fruity drinks. We were a relatively big group for a Tuesday night but the servers worked overtime to accommodate us. I'm just confused on the managements planning. I seriously think there might have been 4 people working the front area. That just seems unsafe/ inefficient? Food was OK. Drinks were OK.

I came here on an early Friday night in a party of seven people. Our waiter was a bit inattentive. He never asked me if I needed refills nor did he try to clear our plates so we had to deal with awkwardly shuffling around plates as our entrees came out. And the waiter didn't ask if they could take our plates I had to ask if they could take them and I had to hand it over to them. The food was ok, I got a 2 for $20 deal with my friend. He also forgot to bring me and my friend's check out with the rest of the group until after my friends had already paid and signed their receipts. Me and my friend eventually get our receipts and we both pay. I had asked for a box for my leftovers probably 10 or 15 minutes before but of course the waiter forgot and I didn't even care anymore because I didn't want to wait there any longer so I just let it slide. We get our receipts back and somehow the waiter had mixed up our checks and charged my friend's bill to my credit card. I was really annoyed by this since my friend had ordered a dessert and drink. It shouldn't have been mixed up. The rest of the people in my party were ready to go, so I didn't even bother trying to get it changed because we would have probably had to stay there for a lot longer to wait to get it fixed. I used to come here with my family rather frequently in the past but I don't know what's happened to the service here. I don't expect my servers to bend over backwards for me, but I expect standard service such as refills, my appetizer plates being cleared before my entree is set on the table, a take out box, and my waiter to not mix up my check when each receipt has it's own individual tray. I don't remember my server's name, but honestly it's not worth the effort. The food was still about the same in quality, it was decent. But I'm probably not going to come back. If you want drinks and good food for around the same price or cheaper, go to Alehouse. The atmosphere, service, and food are definitely better there.

About Applebee's

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
