What a wonderful find in Inverness. Great food expertly presented. Service is excellent. If you are in the area it is well worth a stop for dinner

The food did not reflect menu descriptions. I expected more. We were there on dark late afternoon and I felt the interior was way too dark. The spinach salad was a disappointment. My husband had the sea bass and it was likely the best of our choices. I would not make a return trip. Our guest was critical of his meal also.

Roast beef and cheddar was delicious. The bread was the best part. My wife got the flat bread caprese, an overkill on the basil, although it was still very tasty.

I'm visiting from out of town and brought my dad here for lunch today. He had never been because, despite living 5 minutes away, he didn't know it existed (not an avid yelper, as you can imagine). Our meal was un-frickin-believable. By far the best meal I've ever had in Inverness. To quote my 62-year-old father (who never swears), "It was f*cking amazing." The food is pricey, but well worth it. We shared the baked feta appetizer and the stuffed artichoke hearts, which were both delicious. I had the hot beef and cheddar sandwich, which comes with a horseradish sauce that add just enough bite without overpowering the other flavors. My dad had the turkey sandwich with sliced apples and apple butter mayo, which he raved was "the best turkey sandwich [he's] ever had." Then we shared the piña colada bread pudding. Oh. My. God. Absolutely to die for. Overall it was a fantastic meal, the outdoor seating was peaceful and beautiful, and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. I took a peek inside the restaurant to see what it looked like, and it is adorable. A restored historic house with several small rooms and a four-season room, all filled with a few tables each. I wish I was staying in town longer so I could go back for dinner! I hope this place sticks around for a long time, because I will certainly be back every time I visit!

I have been here several times and always get a great meal. Everyone at the table is pleased. My daughter always has the Brie, bacon, cranberry sandwich. She raves about it. I tend to always have the Mediterranean pasta with shrimp....it has lots of sun dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts in an olive oil sauce. I love it and always take home enough leftovers for lunch the next day. 2 others in our party had the stuffed chicken breast...I think it was with Boursin cheese and a raspberry sauce. They both loved in. The wedge salad is ver good. As others have stated, the coconut bread pudding is to die for! The only thing I hate about this restaurant is the acoustics. If the place is half full or you are near a large party, it is quite difficult to hear and carry on a conversation.

I work at a 5 Star property in PB but small town living is more my style. McLeods is 5 Star with both service and cuisine! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

This place is healthy and always a good experience. Such a unique atmosphere and by far the best lunch spot in Inverness. I wonder what their dinner is like?

I think this is a very good restaurant overall and a 5 star restaurant for the area. The service was excellent and the food was great, but my one issue would be the pricing. I couldn't give it a five star BECAUSE it was priced at a five star level of something you would find in NY or LA. Although very good it isn't on that level.

I consider myself a foodie and I think most people would agree with that statement. This place knocked my socks off! It's quaint and elegant all at the same time. It's not overstated or stuffy, but the food is the best I've tasted in years. With access to a plethora of fine dining restaurants in Miami, this place is a gem! The duck was full flavor and robust. The Chilean sea bass was delicate and melted in my mouth. I love the atmosphere too...so homey! I highly recommend this place!

I wish you could add a TIP after you have been to a place and started a review. Most of the things I would like to tip friends on come into my brain AFTER I have started a review. If anyone knows how to do this let me know. TIP----for example, ,and at any rate, at this place, when you make a reservation and give them a special occasion, they print that at the top of their menu for your table. We were having a wedding anniversary dinner with friends and that fact and our friends name surprised us on the menu they handed us. A really nice touch! Also the food and service here are excellent. We all started with shared appetizers of baked and stuffed artichokoke and esgargot. These alone were worth the 30 mile trip from The Villages. I had the crab cakes and they were exceptional-----all crab. The house salad with blue cheese was perfectly prepared. My wife had the wild berry salmon and said it was scrumptious!! The friends we were with split a pork chop and filet mignon and said they were great. We ended with a very chocolate dessert to pass around. The house cab wine was reasonable with a generous serving. The only negative is that the lighting was so low you had a hard time reading the menu and seeing your food Overall,a really great meal. Not inexpensive, but worth every penny!!!

Delightful historic old home converted to a fabulous restaurant . The artichoke appetizer was at others have said "to die for". We had Sea Bass, Duck, and Scallops. All were great. This is the best place in Inverness, by far. The wait staff was knowledgeable and helpful. We will go out of our way to dine here again. .

Very good restaurant with a great staff. The food presentation was really well done. The artichoke appetizer is just killer. We sat outside and enjoyed the music. Nice. Would love it if the wine list was a bit more extensive. I highly recommend that you check this out behind the town square in Inverness.

Lovely place for lunch. Relaxing atmosphere and excellent food. There were 6 of us and all were pleased with our food - salads, chicken salad, and a brie/bacon sandwich. Can't wait to return to try some of the other food. Too bad, no soup and a half sandwich was offered.

This quaint little restaurant has delicious food and amazing service. It's very dimly lit and would be a great place for a romantic dinner. I ordered the scallops and they were some of the best I have ever had. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We also went on a Saturday night without a reservation (which I wouldn't recommend), but the hostess was able to squeeze us in right next to the musician-which we didn't mind! Perfect place to spend a special evening!

We have been here twice for lunch. Great food, great service and a casual atmosphere in the downtown area of Inverness across from the court house. They have a varied and interesting menu. Don't miss out on this great little restaurant!

The only "great" restaurant in this area. Housed in an unassuming but tastefully decorated small historic home, the quality and imaginative offerings really came as a surprise. We have dined here many times, and have never left with anything less than raves. I think the other two reviews said it best: You must try this place.

Visited this bistro for the first time on Sept 21st saturday night with reservations. Beer and wine only , three people, and we had a very enjoyable dinner at a cost of 140.00 with tip. Older home converted with a few tables in each room and also a deck with 3-4 tables for outdoor dining. The special was the crusted sea bass[ very large plump piece of fish] with ristoto and veges $ 32.00, others had steak and scallops/shrimp All meals were good portions and very tasty. Service was prompt without being pushy. We had reservations at 6:15 pm and when we arrived pretty empty but by 7:00 appeared to be close to full. Approx 40 min ride from Ocala and well worth and also Inverness is a nice small town to walk afterwards, with ice cream shops, bars, small cafes to eat out side[ dessert? ] We did not stop as sooo full. I would suggest to give it a try as nice menu , good food, only slight negative would be 2 things, no cocktails, inside rooms were a little dark and you may need cell phone / flashlight to get good look at menu. have fun

Easily one of the best restaurants in the area. Not cheap but well worth it. Had delicious grouper with buerre blanche, wilted spinach salad and flour less chocolate cake. All wonderful and washed down with a fine white wine. Go!
