What a great surprise. Passing thru town, stopped in for lunch. Wonderful sandwiches and salads. Super friendly staff. Great biscotti and coffee drinks. They had a piano player playing some great light jazz. While paying our tab (VERY reasonable by the way) the owner gives a couple of roasted olives to sample. Another bonus. What a treat.

This place is such a hidden gem - if you find yourself within 20 miles of Inverness, you've gotta make a detour to check out Little Italy. We were only in Crystal River for one night and day but I insisted we go back again on the way out of town the next day because of how good the food is and how great the owner is! This is the closer to an authentic Italian deli I've been to since my last trip to Rome a couple of years ago. The general atmosphere of the place and the neighborhood feel of it is exactly what you'd expect from a good deli in Rome. The service was impeccable - the owner himself comes around and socializes with pretty much all the guests. He even liked us well enough to entice us to stay longer with free cappuccinos! At first the owner may seem a little intrusive if you're not from the South, but after a few minutes with him you learn that he's just got a big heart and is just a really nice guy (and from Italy, as well). The Italian sub is a solid bet for your first time in. If you're hungry, it should satisfy you without leaving you overstuffed, but even if you're not so hungry they cut it in half and it'll last a few hours easy. It's just good bread and good meats, plain and simple. That being said, it's still way tastier than a Jimmy John's or literally any other Italian sub outside of Italy I've ever had. The next day I told him that I liked spicy food so he fixed me a sandwich based on that (which is pretty common there for him to do) and it was even better than the Italian sub! it had a nice kick to it without being overpowering on spice. Once again, solid meats and bread. My girlfriend had a salad and it, too, was better than your average salad with fresh meats and everything. The only thing I wouldn't recommend there are the cookies so much. It's not that they're bad, they're just nothing exceptional, unlike pretty much everything else there. Oh, and he said they do dinner on weekends - probably worth checking out.

This is my favorite place to eat in Citrus County. I try to get there once a week. I'm a fairly picky eater when it comes to Italian delis, but Alfredo, Donna and Rosario know what I like and what I don't. And I'm never disappointed by what I get. Salads and hot pressed sandwiches are delicious, vegetarian or not. If you get there early enough during the week, there are one or two specials to choose from. Haven't had a bowl of soup that I don't like. Perfect way to end lunch is with a shot of espresso and a cookie or a piece of pastry. Better pastries than anything I've had in NY or Philadelphia. Dinners are a treat as well. It's like going to your Italian grandparents' house for dinner. You eat what you're served. But each course is more delightful than the next. Fridays you have a choice of a 3-course meal or a 7-course meal. Saturdays are 7-course meals. To me, a big part of the fun is guessing what's coming next so for that reason, I find the 7-course meal a lot more enjoyable. The entertainment has varied each time we've been there for dinner - from Alfredo and Rosario singing to an evening of operatic enjoyment. We've ordered cakes, pastries, cookies to serve at parties. Always a big hit with our friends. Highly recommend Little Italy for lunch or for dinner - or for baked goods.

Just came into the town to bike on the bike path, and decided to grab a quick bite, this Italian Deli looked nondescript from the outside, but we didn't want to waste time looking for another place. What a wonderful surprise. Everything was great! We weren't sure what to order, the owner asked us a couple of pointed questions and fixed up the best sub we've ever had! The people next to us were raving about their salad. Plenty of seating and great deli atmosphere --- the staff was exceptional. We could tell this is also a favorite for the locals.

Lots of love served with Italian deli items, Friday and Saturday dinners, seven courses. Instead of picking something from the menu, ask them to surprise you. Always pleased. Do not miss this little delight.

Little Italy of Inverness Deli is a treat for those who like a new twist on Italian food. Their Panini sandwiches are a refreshing change of pace than the usual fare you get at other Italian delis and restaurants in Citrus County. My wife and I both ordered the "Fahgettaboudit" Panini. A fresh baked Italian sub roll (baked on premises) filled with Pepperoni, ham, capicolla, provolone, tomato, lettuce and onion with a balsamic vinaigrette was delicious as was the soup of the day - Spinach and mushroom. Also have filtered drinking water, fresh baked cookies, cakes and breads you will not be sorry here!

I have been visiting Citrus County for about 20 years, since my parents moved there. Finding Little Italy for the first time last week, I was truly saddened that I had not found it 20 years ago. Little Italy is an oasis of edible pleasure in an otherwise empty dietary desert. My son and I initially stopped in out of curiosity. Even though I had already had a meal less than an hour beforehand, I had to try what Little Italy could offer. In this instance, I had a vegetarian Panini, fresh biscotti, a cappuccino and a quart of house-brined kalamata olives to go. My Panini set a new standard for sandwiches in Florida, at least in my experience. The bread was fresh and perfectly pressed. The vegegables - roasted red pepper, marinated portabello mushrooms, zucchini and onion -- were outstanding, flavorful and a cut above the ordinary vegetables that I typical find when I order a vegetarian sandwich of any kind. Coffee biscotti was freshly made and full of coffee and macadamia nuts - a wonderful pairing and it took a great deal of restraint to have only one. Cappucino provided a nice accompaniment. Olives were a real treat and quickly eaten after I got them home. The marinade for the olives was subtle so more olive flavor came through as compared to store-bought olives. The interior of Little Italy is a bit rustic - quaintly so. The owners are engaging, friendly and witty, and they have a great pedigree, having worked years ago at Cristini's in Orlando, as well as at various Disney locations. There are not a lot of reasons to visit Citrus County but absent a need to visit an aging family member, Little Italy is a great place to stop if one finds oneself in the area.

Excellent Italian deli in Inverness offering imported products and some really good homemade goodies. Had the Prosciutto and mozzarella panini and it was excellent. Simple, Good Parma Ham, Mozzarella some basil and olive oil on homemade bread. Awesome! Great Mushroom soup and excellent cannoli make for a very nice little lunch. Owner is very friendly. I'll be back.

Authentic Italian deli. Good panini, soup, pizza, espresso, cappuccino, Italian cookies, cannoli. There's a nice variety of cheeses and salami sold by the pound for take out and a small seating area. And commentary on the relative wisdom of your order from the owners is free! We had a nice, relaxing lunch at this unique place in downtown Inverness.

I have only been there for lunch ... but it is so worth to go!! Their panini are extremely good, made on the spot with fresh cold cuts. And if you are able to take home some cold cuts or cheeses ... extremely authentic stuff. Don't forget to order a real caffe or some dessert ... ever so good. The owners are authentic Italian ... extremely friendly and always in a happy, joyful and kidding mood. How can you go wrong? If you find yourself in the Inverness Area, swing by for lunch ... it is worth it and you won't regret it!

"When the moon hits your eye Like a big-a pizza pie That's amore" You might forget you're a paying guest and not a cozy, huggy-kissie-kissie close personal friend, because your immediately sucked into their embrace and treated like one. You might think your seated at a table somewhere in Sardinia, Tuscany or Sicily. You might not know they only serve imported wines and beer - no spirits! You might not know people call in as far away as Alaska, to make reservations. If your not timely - you muck up the whole thing for the rest of us, cuz we can't start eating until all reservation guests arrive. Little Italy is the closest thing you can ever expect in finding truly authentic Italian cuisine in Inverness, Florida. Renowned for their hospitality, warmth, affection, song, humor and gaiety that quickly spills over into laughter... All of which are amply exemplified inside the camouflaged brick exterior of a Deli. Little Italy is a gem of a Deli, turning into a fine dining experience, twice a week at 6:30 pm. It's like kissing a frog that turns into a prince... it's magic! Your tush may be comfortably seated next to a rack of salami, imported cheeses (to die for...) or wines held hostage, till you liberate them. In true Mediterranean style... no salt, nor pepper don the starched white linen tables - everything has already been stoutly seasoned to perfection, prior to a demurely dressed plate is gently nestled beneath your dropped jaw. Tis true! Caution: Lag time between courses is a bit to much - not if your in Italy. Because most Mediterranean's normally dine, chat, debate and drench themselves within the whole dining experience of savoring the moment and eating a meal ever so slowly. Allow plenty of T-I-M-E! Priced reasonably for the exceptional quality and entertainment. Ciao babe!

This is truly my favorite place. You wouldn't believe how great a baker Donna and Alfredo are. If you miss Little Italy you are going to hate yourself. Lunch specials ever day. Ask about the Saturday night 5 and 7 course meals. As good as any 5 Star. Cosmo

Wow.... what can be said about this place? My folks have been coming here for years... Dad takes a motorcycle ride for about an hour to stop here for lunch and on many occasions they make the trek for the Saturday night 7 course meal. So this year for my birthday my folks took us here and we had an amazing time. OK I can't tell you about the deli because we had the 7 course meal, chock full of great food, amazing service and a whole lot of fun. I don't want to give anything a way, but here's the scoop you need to know. Two brothers from Italy own this place and they clearly love what they do. You step in to the place and you are clearly in a deli, but if you close your eyes for just a moment and reopen them you are in their house... enjoying an awesome dinner with family in Italy. The wife of one of the owners prepares every course of the meal and its different every time you go depending on her mood or the fresh ingredients that are available. The place seats maybe 24 people and a reservation is an absolute must. Make sure tell them about your allergies and they will make sure that you are taken care of without making you feel cheated or even uncomfortable. They catered to the girlfriends gluten free diet with ease! Our meal included fresh breads, fresh mozzarella with proscuitto, lamb stew, fresh fettuccine in a very light sauce, fresh gnocchi in a fresh light tomato sauce, a raspberry sorbet to cleanse the pallet and onto the entree of a beautifully prepped filet mignon with a wonderful sauce and summer vegetable medley. Finally desert was a berry shooter with hazel nuts, cocoa and whipped cream. I wanted to try their cannoli which they brought me two and didn't even charge us. They were fantastic. Espresso and Cappuccino were also offered. On the way out, I noticed a great cookie with the little ball colored sprinkles on it and I really wanted one. My girlfriend asked if we could buy one and they made me a whole box of different pastries and would not take any money. We are still eating them tonight! They are all yummy. Be aware this isn't fine dining, sure some people were dressed up but I went in nice shorts and a shirt... and I didn't feel out of place. Especially because of the comedy bits these two guys do. They hold back no punches, be prepared to be asked some very awkward questions and watch some hysterical skits. Just go in with an open mind, joke back and have fun, these guys are clearly enjoying themselves. They sing a few songs and everyone gets involved, La La La La la la la la... :) This place is a drive from Orlando and you won't get done till 10.30pm at least, but honestly, it's worth the drive. We really enjoyed the food and you don't leave feeling stuffed but fully satisfied knowing you got quality food with a lot of fun. The dress may not be fine dining, but the tables are, the service is and the food is as well.

I LOVE this place. This is the only genuine Italian Deli that I know of in the area. Capicola, Paninis, Cookies, Cannolis, Espresso... this place is heaven. Anyway you slice it, eating here is worth the drive.

This has got to be Inverness's best kept secret. Very clean! The food is amazing and the price is even better. The owner is really friendly and funny. They have tons of offerings not listed on the board, be sure to ask about the homemade blueberry and cream cheese cake. The italian sub w/o vinegar was delicious.
