Very good at a good price!! There is many choices on the menu! I got the Vaca Frita, Maduras, & yuca!! When we pulled up to the restaurant, there were no cars in the lot at 6:30. Usually, that's not a good sign. But I am giving it 5 stars, so...

The food was just OK and service was at best OK inside the Restuarant remind of a truck drivers stop . Sorry to say I would not go back .

Stopped by here after visiting the coral castle and schleby's winery. The location and exterior looks a tad sketchy but I know enough about eating out now to not judge a book by it's cover. The complementary Cuban bread was delish and deserving of seconds. I had the lunch special (5.99) chicken fajitas w/ salad and tostones (fried green plantations). I got a lime-y sauce with my meal. I wasn't sure what it was for but ended up using it on all my food. The chicken was very flavorful and so were the tostones. Highly recommend this meal. We had caramel flan and bread pudding for dessert. The flan was just the right texture and melted in your mouth. The bread pudding was also a delight. It was the perfect note of sweetness. I will definitely go back and for the prices it's a steal :)

Galindo's is a small Cuban restaurant with a basic staff, but good food. I'll confess that my credentials in certifying Cuban food as good or bad are questionable, but I can say they are based on extensive travel through the Caribbean and Florida. Galindo's is definitely better than its nearby competition in quality and taste. I've ordered Churrasco, Ropa Vieja and Masas de Puerco and have been pleased with all three. The wait may be a little beyond average, but not excessive. The food is consistent with the better Cuban I've had, but in a very affordable mom and pop establishment. If you're looking to decide between Galindo's and their closest competitor, go Galindo's hands down.

As we hit South FL, my thoughts turned to Cubano cuisine, and I decided to give Galindo's a try. We found the cafe after a bit of 'sight seeing' (it was dark and the cafe is not well lit). I had the churrasco. It was cooked to perfection and came with a tasty chimichurra, black beans, and savory rice. Companions had the chicken fajitas , served with fried green plantains and rice. The chicken was very tasty and the plantains were out of this world. This was the best food we've had on our South Florida vacation. I would recommend Galindo's to anyone who appreciates good ethnic cuisine.

While visiting my mom in the Homestead area, I was on my way to Casavana for some Cuban food, when my husband pulled up reviews on Galindo's Cafe on Yelp. Yes folks, it's as good as everyone says it is! Whenever I'm in the Miami area I always like to start my day (no matter how late I might wake up due to partying the night before...) with a delicious cup of Cuban coffee. Their cafe con leche did not disappoint. I continued the experience with Fried Pork Chunks with black beans and rice, and a side of sweet plantains. Everything was absolutely delicious with large portions. The Fried Pork Chunks were moist, tender, and juicy. My husband had the Seafood Soup, which was so yummy that I couldn't help but poach spoonfuls, even though I was stuffed halfway through my own meal! I wholeheartedly recommend Galindo's if you're in the Homestead area. I think it'll be my go-to Cuban restaurant when I visit my mom.

Good home cooked food! Authentic Cuban cuisine, hands down best Mamey shake I've yet to have. I had a Stake sandwich with fries and a mamey shake. The food was fresh and tasty! The down part was the wait time is a bit much, guess they only had one server working that day- was still worth the wait!!!

Omg! This is a Cuban gem! It was so good we came back a 2nd time on the same day! Disclaimer: I grew up with a Chinese Mom who was born and raised in Cuba. Eating at this place reminds me of my Mom's home cooking of Cuban food. The food was very similar to what my Mom made me when I was a kid! I started with the Churrasco and my boyfriend got the Grouper. Both dishes were excellent and had very large portions. The BF ended up eating half of my steak because it was way too much for me. The Plantanos sweet & green were some of our favorite sides. I loved how the sweet ones were mushy and sweet on the inside and the outside was slightly crispy.....mmmm we ordered a batch to go. The Congris (black beaans and rice cooked with ham) was also amazing. It was very flavorful and plentiful. Made great left overs to snack on. You have to try the flan! OMG...it was so good we ordered a couple of them to go. It was so creamy and fresh...its a good thing they come in small portions because it is really rich and could easily add another 10lbs to me after eating it. If you want real Cuban coffee, order the Colada. It is some really strong coffee in an espresso cup. The Cafe Con Leche is also good, a double of those will keep you wide awake for a long drive back home. You won't get any 5 star upscale Cuban food here. This is a place for some home cooking. Its almost as if this place was open to cater to the family's friends and extended family. Low prices, large portions and some home cook'n love. This place gets 5 stars because this is as close to authentic as you can get. If you are en route to the Everglades or Biscayne this place is on the way from Miami and is worth a stop.

This little hole-in-the-wall is a must-go if you're in homestead! I am never disappointed when I order from here. Their Ropa Vieja is out of this world! They also have an excellent Elena Ruz. They are right down the street from Mario's Cuban Restaurant - and let me tell you, Galindo's gives them a run for their money! Galindo's never seems to be busy but I truly believe that's because most people either don't notice it or aren't willing to try it because of Homestead's original cuban cafe, Mario's. I'm glad I gave it a shot, because it's AMAZING.

We stopped for dinner. Service was a bit slow, but they only have one sever who was taking car of everyone. The place has a rustic charm. We had cuban sandwiches. Overall pretty good but the choice of ham was not the best in our opinion. Prices were good. Overall satisfied, but have patience.

My boyfriend and I are on vacation from California and saw this restaurant as we were passing by. We thought it would be nice to try Cuban food. Its 11:30 in the afternoon and they had two open signs. We parked and got to the front door. It was locked. We waited and a guy came to the door, did not open it and showed his hand like a "5 fingers". We didn't know if it meant 5 minutes or he meant not open. Then a lady came out and told us "10 minutes" and closed the door. We waited and another guy just waked in and ordered. We got so mad because their sign said open and left us locked outside without telling us if they open or not. We didn't want to eat there anymore. So we left to try Marios Cuban restaurant 0.2 mile down the street. I would give 0 stars if it was an option.

The food here are really really good. My friend orders one seafood with rice. And I order 2 appetizers plus one omelet. Remember the tamale and the potato one. They are REALLY tasty.

If it wasn't that he waitress was friendly and the fried yucca was good I would have given this a 1 star. The Arroz con Marisco I ordered was so salty that I left most of it untouched. The appetizer and main dish my husband ordered was very salty as well. Even though we and one other person were the only customers in the restaurant we had to wait a really long time. I did not want to complain because I was afraid I would have to wait really long again should they offer to cook me another dish.

This place is a must-eat if you're passing through the area. Small operation but with a nice outdoor area. Fast and attentive service. The food is AMAZING. We had Picadillo and Vaca Frita (flank steak) with plantains, yucca and rice and beans mix. Everything was incredibly tasty, the portions are huge and the price is so cheap! We topped it off with Mamey and Malteada (malted milk) shakes that were out of this world. We even stopped by the next day on our way out just to get the shakes again. Wish we could have packed this place up with us and taken it home!

Food and service are actually great here. It's always empty, but I think they do a big to go business. The best thing is the pan con puerco.

Horrific Experience! We read the reviews and stopped and had the worst restaurant encounter we have ever had. We waited a long time to be served and ordered several items to try. We planned to take some home. The Cuban coffee. bread, green plaintain chips, and tamal were fair. We ate and shared half of the bread and marquitas, and ate one tamal, and were looking foreard to trying our entrees.I grew up in Miami, and my family is part Cuban. We ordered ropa vieja and maduros, and we're shocked when the food arrived and the plantains were overcooked and almost black instead of golden. We did not eat them, and then had one bite of the ropa and found it tasted burned. Then the bistec con papas sandwich, which we ordered came. because the restaurant says "Best Sandwich." We hoped to get the traditional thin cut papas but beCame instead was regular cut fries that we're saturated in grease and a tasteless sandwich. When I told the waitress she took it to the manager? Who abruptly grabbed the plate, shoved the plantain maduro in her mouth then with her hands grabbed the ropa and did the same and said she thought it tasted "Rico" and scowled. We asked to get our check because she started yelling profani yt? use in Spanish. we asked to pay and leave. We paid $25 even though we ate less than a fourth of the food. We never raised our voices, and I tried to calm her and said it was not personal. We just did not like it. She yelled and said it is personal because it is "her money." We told her the $25 should cover her cost. She then made rude and disparaging comments about us, and took our money and yelled loudly don't come back. We won't and hope she gets some needed anger management counseling.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch. Neither of us have had Cuban food before but we thought it was delicious! We both had the Cuban sandwich, which was awesome! We also got sweet plantains & fried green plantains, we really loved the green plantains! Good service & a laid back atmosphere.

Hands down the best Medianoche and Cuban sandwiches in town. On top of that the service is excellent - this is what keeps me coming back.

Out of this world. Excellent Ropas Viejas & grilled Grouper. The fried green plantains were just wonderful as was the house made flan & Sangria. Fresh, great service and an excellent value.

Knowing that Mario's is a block or two away, it took me a little while to check out this little hole in the wall. I would always pass by and wonder if the reason that it always looks so empty is a reflection of the food, or its odd location. Well, one day bored with alternatives I decided to check it out. Boy am I glad I did. The food was excellent! Everything was fresh and delicious and the prices were great! Definitely cheaper than Casavana and Mario's, but every bit as good. I had the Ropa Vieja and my girlfriend had a garlic chicken that was fantastic! The only thing that brought it down to 4 stars to me was the wait time for the food and the atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired, but it was worth the wait, and furthermore cements the fact that the hole in the wall dives are usually where the best food lies!

Will Not Return here. Comparing it 2 two other cuban restaurants in the area. I did not make a great impact. I've passed by this place so many times. Finally gave it a shot 4 a late lunch on mothers day. Restaurant: has big area to eat outside w/shade. Inside is very small. All the tables were dirty with plates all over. Service: bad, turns out that our waitress was also the bus boy, & cashier & mayb even the cook. She took orders answered the phones she did it all& alone too. So u can imagine the service was bad. She was frustrated took long 2 take our order but I understand she was alone. Food: not good! We were a party of 7 &3 of us did not like our food. Presentation wasnt good my half chicken had way 2 much seasoning. It looked as if it was yesterdays left overs oh & my moms congri was blah. Juding on these dishes: medio pollo, chicharron de pollo, arroz con pollo, bistec de pollo. Congri . Cons: $67 fed 7 ppl, frijoles colorado, mariquitas were good.

Don't come here looking for ambiance. Come here for great Cuban food, killer Sangria and terrific prices. You'll have enough food to bring home...if you can stop eating!

I love this place! They are so friendly and nice every time I go. It seems to be a family run kind of business. I always get the vaca frita and it is soooooooooo good here. They advertise that they have the best sandwich in town, too. I like the sandwich a lot, it has a lot of cheesy goodness. The masitas de puerco are also yummy. They have a very extensive menu with daily specials, too. The rabo encendido has good flavor, but is not the most tender so I would not suggest it.

By far the best place to eat in Homestead in my opinion. The food and service is amazing. There is a lot of variety and the prices are low. A must try for anyone passing the area. I will recommend the Churrasco plate it is my favorite. If your not into that I will recommend the masita de puerco. I am getting hungry just talking about it. g2g.
