High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. My family and I have been trying to give this restaurant a shot but everytime we go it just gets worse and worse. Food most of the time has been overcooked, service is terrible! It took our waitress about 10-15 minutes to come to our table and that was because I complained to a passing server. Drinks came and of course were wrong, soup was asked to come before the main dish and of couse they both came out at the same time. My husbands dinner came out 10 mins later! Desert came and yep, seriously how do you get that one wrong :( last but not least.... servers, bus boys, hostesses, & cookes when to the outside dining area to SMOKE HOOKA!!! We will NEVER come to this restaurant again!!!

I was ready to not like Applebee's yet again but I was pleasantly surprised this time around. Adrian was our server and he was great. The food was actually good and timely. He was very nice with our son and our dinner guest loved the ambience. There was a large party sitting directly behind us so it was a little bit noisy but otherwise all was good.

Went for a quick lunch with my husband and son. To start with the table had little tiny ants. That should of been a sign of things to come. The waitress was very personable. But service was a bit on the slow side. No big deal because we were not in a hurry. I tend to eat on the healthy side so I ordered the Pepper Crusted Sirloin with Whole Grains. Hubby ordered Shrimp & Parmesan Steak and my son a bacon cheeseburger. Well the food took quite a while and the waitress did not come by to offer refills or bring water which I had requested earlier. Food came and just yuck. The plates were just sloppy, no effort to make it look appetizing. I mean my plate was almost $13 and hubby $18 so a little effort is not too much. My food was just unappetizing. The steak had to be the cheapest cut possible and it was just a mess of jumbled food on my plate. Hubby said his mashed potatoes were lumpy and the veggies were ok but undercooked. His steak was inedible and we had to return it. Son's cheeseburger was fine. The manager came over and apologized profusely and that was a nice touch but really what could we tell him other than the food stunk, the steak was tough and had no taste and all the food had the same oily, garlicky taste. They took hubby's steak off the bill and since I ate half of my food I didn't bring it up. The waitress also was apologetic. Save your money and go to Longhorn.

Food poisoning isn't something I crave for when I want to dine out. We ordered the 2 for 25 and got hot wings as the appetizer. They were hot on the outside and raw [pink raw] in the inside. Like they were frozen and placed in the fryer. They gave us a 4 dollar discount for almost giving me and my husband food poisoning. I washed down the wings with flat soda and a burned bread stick *throws in the white flag*

If I could click no stars, that would be it.... Waitress was awesome, but just one little thing, Cockroaches crawling on the booths.. Yeah, seriously - Don't go there!

The night we went there was the fullest I've ever seen it and it was horrible. We like the food but not worth waiting 1 hr to get seated and another hour to get the food. Not cool !

I would love to rate this restaurant in Florida City zero stars if I could. To put it simply, this place is a culinary Hindenburg. After working in the restaurant industry for nearly 15 years, I can honestly say this is the most poorly managed restaurant I have ever set foot in, and I've seen some really bad ones. The employees and managers are incompetent beyond belief, and I'm being pretty generous when I say that. I first went there on Christmas Eve with my parents. The party ahead of us was seated at a table after which the host came over to us and told us they were closed and we could not eat there. Apparently we had missed the 'cut off' by mere seconds. I decided to give them another chance and went there with my friend about 4 months later. We stood inside the door near the host station for at least 5 minutes without even being greeted or acknowledged. It was busy, so we waited patiently thinking we would be asked for our name to be added to the list, seeing there were many other people waiting to be seated. By this time, other people were waiting behind us in the entryway to be seated. None of the servers or the hostess seemed to care at all. Then several guests walked by to leave the restaurant, and the hostess brushed past all of us to let them out, still without greeting or acknowledging that anyone was there waiting. Finally, the couple behind us walked up to her and asked to be added to the list. By this time, I realized she was a clueless teenager that had no idea what she was doing because she had been staring at the seating chart without looking up since we got there. Obviously, no one had trained her properly, combined with her total lack of common sense that guests should be greeted when they enter a restaurant. She said, 'yeah, OK' and wrote down their name. Seriously??!! By now I was pretty mad and several other people had taken notice. I told her that we had been waiting for quite some time before anyone else got there and she said 'I guess I didn't see you'. Perhaps our brightly colored clothing blended in with the dark colored wood of the entryway, I don't know. Now I was fed up with the whole situation and asked to speak with the manager, who she called. Several more minutes passed and we were still waiting. I told her to get the manager immediately or I would go find him. He finally appeared from the kitchen, frazzled and in a rush to get back to what he was doing. He rattled off a bunch of insincere phrases that I'm sure he had used a thousand times before. Frankly, it was quite insulting and I told him that his meaningless apologies didn't make a different because I wouldn't be eating at this restaurant. At that point I knew the place was being run by a bunch of clowns that had no idea how a restaurant should be organized. On a busy night there should have been at least one manager on the floor at all times, and we saw none the whole time we were there. During the 8-10 painful minutes that we had to endure, many other frustrated guests walked out since they were now aware that they wouldn't be seated anytime soon. We took the cue to leave as well, which I can honestly say was the best part of my entire night. This place really needs to get their act together. Not that I really care, since I wouldn't go back there if someone put a gun to my head. Customers beware! Don't waste your time here. The Olive Garden up the street has always had great service the few times I went there and you never have to wait, even on busy nights. I would highly recommend them over this disgrace to the restaurant industry called Applebee's.

Wanted to treat my gf to lunch and turned out being a waste... Got seated and took forever for someone to come to our table and give us utensils... Then we ordered and it took forever to get our drinks... I ordered the fiesta lime chicken which was pretty good but babe's 3 cheese chicken penne was tasteless... The waitress kept forgetting the things we requested... Save your money and go somewhere else

Service is absolutely terrible! Took forever just to get water with lemon, seriously?!? The food was mediocre & that's being nice. Definitely would not suggest this Applebee's. Obviously in need of new management!!

Do yourself a favor and try the snack machine at Home Depot next door instead. Orders repeatedly wrong, lousy food, slow service even way off peak. I left my credit card here and when I returned the next day it took fifteen minutes for them to get it back to me, even though I called in advance to say i was coming by.

This is a normal Applebee's so you get what you expect. The menu had a lot of stuff on it and the things we ordered were very good: Cajun steak and shrimp, salmon, and napa chicken with mushrooms. When we came in there was a two for one drink special. We noticed the drinks didn't look as they did on the photos in the menu when they came, but they were still good. The service was really good here. Our waiter, Marcus, was great. He was patient and once our orders were in he came by many times to ensure everything was good.

Your typical Applebee's... Ask for the server Thomas S. He is great!

The reason for the 2 stars and not 0 stars is that Fabien was a decent server (pretty smile) and they have Stella. The food, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. I ordered the 12 oz New York Strip. Although it was seasoned, it tasted pretty bland. My mom had the Parmesan and Shrimp Sirloin. The steak was tough even though we asked for Medium and the shrimp seemed soaked in water. I'm a little saddened by the food. I really wanted something different, and I opted for this thinking it would be great. Very sad. I won't come here again.

I have been to this Applebees like many times and it has always been a great experience. I have had the Bacon Cheese Burger and PepperCorn Steak as well as the Shrimp Alfredo. Never dissappointed figuring its a chain place. What i keep on going back for is the service. Always 5 stars!!! One waitress in particular named Star has helped us many times. If your in the area and feel like a bite that wont break your wallet swing by Applebees in Homestead.

I do not like AppleBee's honestly. I hate their food and no matter which Applebee's I go into all of them smells of vomit! But this particular one was empty for a Friday night and my cousin suggested we go to this one for drinks. I am giving our server/bartender Kim 5 stars! The service and drinks were awesome! The restrooms were disgusting like always. And I didn't have any food. So I would recommend to come to this one for good drinks and service

I don't really like this FLORIDA CITY AppleBee's because of how the food is.Our Waiter was nice and greeted us and wasn't pushy or in our way like that one time I went to the Golden Corral in Pembroke Pines.I ordered a macaroni salad because it's so effing good but I was a little disappointed because it was raw and kind of dry even though our waiter was able to fix it but didn't taste the same that much the one in Cutler Bay is better and I'm putting 2 stars because of how nice our waiter was

7/6/15 Second time in a week. Nice staff and their menu has really improved. I used to stay away from applebees like the plague because of horrible food and service. Glad I gave them another chance..right now...here in homestead...they blow away Chilis. Food is great and they have a great variety! Tonight I came after first stopping at Chilis. Bar seats were half full of people and the other half was full of dirty dishes and slow moving bartenders....disgusting! !!
