Delicious. Inexpensive. Friendly. Great view. Possibly the best carnitas taco I've ever had! The corn is pretty amazing also. Don't miss this hidden gem.

Just left this establishishment and would have given them a much higher rating. Let's start off with the positives. The restaurant definitely captures the tropical hut feel. It looks exactly like that, service was good and I really felt as if I was somewhere in the Caribbean or Mexico. Everything tasted well, I had the salsa with chips and the beef taco combo. Presentation was awesome as well. Now for my negative. I noticed there was a salt and pepper looking seasoning on the chips but thought it was just salt and honestly it tasted pretty good. But then i started to have a reaction as i walked to my car and realized it wasn't salt it was actually msg. It was definitely on the chips not sure if they include it in the food as well. But msg is not something u want use in foods, it has some serious side effects and many people are allergic to this artificial ingredient that is used to enhance flavor. I had the after taste in my mouth, headache and the blurry vision. This is my only constructive criticism. I would have definitely given them 4 star for sure. I called and spoke to the manager he said he would let the owner know, he seemed nice hopefully they will stop adding this artificial ingredient as it really isnt necessary.

This place is amazing. Loved all the different homemade sauces we had the steak tacos, guacamole it was all delicious. It definitely was worth the wait we ate here twice in 10 days!!

Good food, good service, although a little overpriced. Good drink prices ($4 for a blue moon). Service was great. Would come again.

Best Tacos! Best Tacos Ever! Great friendly service! Love this place and with a great view you can't go wrong. Thanks taco spot!

Service is great. Music is good and the food is good. The tacos are nice and refreshing. Just had shrimp and fish tacos. Light and fun. There Mojito's are weak. Overall- chill out spot if you forgot your picnic basket or want to sit by the beach for a quick bite. Nothing fancy.

  • Richard S.

Best beef taco I've ever had. Seriously if your from outta town and need a serious fuggin taco come here. Service was fantastic and the food was tremendous. The corn? MADON! The corn! Why aren't you here yet you jag off?

  • Mark M.

Great beach spot- we really liked the tacos especially the Korean short rib. The beers were cold, the margaritas were very good and the atmosphere across from the beach is difficult to beat. Overall, it was excellent. Additionally, our server was very helpful and took many pictures of our group.

Great view of the ocean... Husband got the nachos and he said he's had better, but really, to me nachos are nachos. Chips covered with cheese, tomatoes black beans, sour cream and guac - I'm a happy camper. He said though, the chips tasted like they had too much seasoning salt on them. He got the nachos and a chicken taco - supposed to be flour tortilla cause he really doesn't like corn. Well, poor thing, he got corn... so he wasn't too thrilled with the food only cause of the corn tortilla. I got the carnitas combo. 2 pork corn tacos, black beans and rice and the grilled cheese and cilantro corn on the cob. Tacos were good. There was a lot of cabbage on them so you had to get down to the pork to get some of the juice. I was putting the cheese from the nachos on mine. I'd say ask for some kind of sauce and it would be perfect. The corn tortillas were just a tiny bit bland... to me, they should taste more like corn! I also got some water and could taste a hint of stuff in it - totally threw me off til I saw their water jug... it had limes, lemons and mint floating in the water. I really liked it! Even though my review sounds bad it really wasn't... I like it and would def be back for their cheap combos with amazing corn on the cob!

This place is a gem. The mahi tacos are the bomb. The drink presentation will make your girlfriend happy. Definitely a must have.

  • Misha H.

So Delicious! Great prices and yummy margaritas. Service amazing. Came up to us every 10 min, even when it started filling up. The portions are perfect. I could only finish 1 taco of the 3, because the corn was so good. But my husband ate my extra 2 and his 3- no problem. So glad we finally went there. What a jewel. Hope it does not get pushed out by the horrible development in the area. Forgot where I was, thought I was on vacation.

Food was really good this time ,but the male bald host picked his nose the whole time we ate

  • Samuel M.

My wife and I had to try out the taco spot since it had good reviews. I enjoyed the taco combo the corn and beans were excellent. The tacos are good.. nothing different about the meat from other taco shops. The taco spot has four special sauces that are on the table which I suggest you try each one. My only complaint is the tacos are kind of expensive $3.00 for one taco :( .. you are better off getting the combo 8.00 and you get 2 tacos, corn, beans, and rice. BTW the view is Awesome!

  • Matt R.

Tacos were awesome. Nachos were so so. Nice friendly service, and a perfect location to people watch on the boardwalk.

    (4)
  • Jacqui P.

Unexpected very good meal. Menu had good variety of choices and good vegetarian options. Prices very reasonable. The Korean tofu was great in the salad and cilantro corn a must. Prices very reasonable. I would definitely return for another meal.

  • K L.

thanks yelp for uncovering this spot. great chips, even better sauces - yellow habanero! wanted to get the recipe. short rib tacos - awesome. guacmole solid. service great. if I ever make it back to hollywood - i'm heading there!

  • Claire M.

Not a huge menu, but the food is really good, reasonably priced & the location can't be beat. On Hollywood Beach - inside, outside, & really outside seating with an ocean view! Outstanding burritos, tacos are good also.

    (4)
  • Kevin R.

Even though they have very limited vegetarian items on the menu for a Mexican restaurant, they will make you mushroom tacos or burritos. The taco combo and nachos both hit the spot. This place is a nice respite of good food in the middle of mostly mediocre broadwalk restaurants taking advantage if their location by offering uninteresting and minimally acceptable food.

    (4)
  • Jessica K.

Wow, best tacos I've every had! Try the Mahi taco and coconut drink. Great, friendly staff.

After visiting a total of 5 times on the 10 days I was in Florida and Jamaica, I am updating my review to say this place is top notch. The first day I went, they were extremely busy because football was on the big screen (Seahawks vs. Packers, 2015). Aside from that, the food was delicious. They give you three bottles of hot sauces to use. The habanero sauce is the best. Using it on the Steak Quesadillo's was the ultimate combo. Delicious. I have also tried their Beef Burrito, Chicken Burrito and Taco's. They were all very good but not as good as the Steak Quesadillo's. The Taco's were also good albeit a bit sloppy but that is why they give you your own napkin dispenser. I also had the combo which includes corn on the cob, rice and beans. Liked the corn on the cob. Grilled nicely and crispy. All together, the food was exceptional. The service was also great as well. The wait staff were friendly and always checked to ensure your drinks were filled. I'll be back again when i'm in the area. Great place.

I've been to Taco Beach Shack and liked it, but I heard this place was much better. I went today, October 1st, with my mom and my baby. I like that it's right on the water (as opposed to the other place), and there seemed to be a ton of people co Ing in and out getting sangria, beer and frozen drinks to bring right on the beach. I ordered the Korean taco, which had the perfect combination of sweet and sour flavoring. I got the combo, so it came with grilled cheese corn and rice and beans. It went perfect with my Tecate. Next time I'll definitely try the red or white sangria. There is hot sauce on the side, although my dish had the perfect amount of spice - besides the corn, which could have used salt, but no biggie. The water was infused with fruit, which was a nice touch. At the end, we had a hard time locating the waiter, but no big deal, it happens. All in all, I hope to visit again before our friends from the North take over :).

    (4)
  • Craig T.

Drinks were good but the "Mexican" food was kind of blah. Mahi mahi tacos were questionable. The Korean rib tacos were just pulled bbq beef. The beans were canned beans and you sure couldnt fake that. The grilled corn was good, but I'm used to it with cojita cheese not parmesan. The corona Rita on the rocks was spot on and the pineapple drink was sweet but I'm not a sweet drink person. They were stiff drinks that's for sure so dont worry too much about the price and hell they were a good size.

  • M.C. F.

The food at this place was ok, but the pigeons that perched overhead and pooped on our table while the staff had not a care was not so nice. A sever was bringing a tray of food out and dropped one order on the floor it landed sideways and partially spilled out onto the floor. The owner walked over picked up the spilt food (food is served on cardboard trays) brought it over to the kitchen and just ADDED to the food then walked it over to the table and gave it to the customers! GROSS! I hate to think what the kitchen looks like if this stuff goes on in the front! STAY AWAY eat elsewhere!

    (1)
  • S G.

GREAT DRINKS! not cheap but definitely fun and they don't skimp on the alcohol. Coco Loco is pretty darn good! They have a variety of different tacos that you can mix and match in combo form, and the salsa has a little kick which is nice (not the normal bland stuff texmex places serve). Prices for a single taco are a bit on the high side and maybe a bit heavy on the cabbage instead of the main ingredient, but with seafood that's pretty standard. Atmosphere is fun and the service is good - they work hard and fast to give you good service even when they are slammed.

    (4)
  • J D.

My favorite thing was the location, the yummy habanero sauce, and grilled corn!! Mahi tacos were tasty. Portion and pricing just right for food, I thought bar items were pricy, but that is to be expected with location! Nice wait staff, I would return!

    (4)
  • Justin G.

The service was surprisingly amazing. Every waiter was overly friendly and extremely accommodating. Def recommend it to anyone who wants a great food, a great view and wonderful service.

Love this place!! BBQ short rib kimchi tacos and corn on the cob amazeballs!!! Will DEFINITELY be back when in town again...

  • Chelsea A.

Gem. Ridiculously tasty tacos. Seasoning on the fish, shrimp and korean tofu is off the hook delicious. Sweet staff.

Delicious! The corn is so unique! Hard taco shells are crispy fresh. We all cleaned our plates :-)

  • Les V.

Walked over and took a seat at the Spot. Great view of boardwalk, cold beer and an amazing Short Rib Taco. I followed that with another ice cold beer and a shrimp taco. My fav spot to chill, watch the people and enjoy amazing tastes at a very fair price. Keep it up. Oh,... And the corn. Amazing!

    (5)
  • Rocky A.

A true beachfront restaurant where the food is excellent. The menu has something for everyone, I love the short rib tacos and grilled corn on the cob. There is a full bar, easy parking and after... you have the boardwalk for a leisurely stroll.

    (5)
  • Roxy G.

The short rib tacos are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Spicy, but delicious and merit coming back here - often. My boyfriend had the Baja fish tacos which were very good as well. The combos come with rice, beans, and a yummy grilled corn on the cob. The service was also prompt and courteous. We'll be back!

    (5)
  • Elaine V.

This is definitely one of the nicest places to grab some food on the Broadwalk. It's clean, the service is super friendly, and the food is tasty. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals. My steak burrito was especially good. The only problem we encountered was that they didn't have their alcohol license when we stopped by. They get that sorted out, and they have 5 stars from me.

    (4)
  • Jay G.

had chicken tacos combo and two beers. amazing chicken tacos, street style, with some unbelievable grilled corn on the cob, blk beans, rice was included in the taco combo.. I'm from jersey so this was quite a pleasant surprise.

    (4)
  • Victor S.

The tacos are mouth-watering. The taco combo which is $8 will get you 2 tacos, rice and beans (which is the only thing I would say isn't that great), and Parmesan cilantro corn on the cob. Great place to catch the game and grab a drink. The servers are awesome and very friendly, Jennifer in particular. I will be going back often.

    (5)
  • Miguel R.

I guess they like to rip people off :/ They were offering margaritas for $8 not too bad should be expected in hollywood beach, but the waiter offers a large and I dont mind just getting a larger drink, but boom! The larger offer comes with a hefty price of $16 for the drink. When does large mean double? Classic beachside rip off :/

    (1)
  • Jeremy Z.

    drink were strong ;)

    (3)
  • Cindy A.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.....We ordered tacos.....I ordered the $3 carnita tacos that were supposed to come with onion and cilantro. My husband ordered the $5 fish tacos (you could not see any fish on the taco). My carnita tacos were not prepared as indicated on the menu....no onion or cilantro. I asked the waiter (once I tracked him down 10 minutes later) and he said the menu was printed incorrectly, but he would have the kitchen replace them. I realize we are at the beach, but shouldn't a beach restaurant hold the same standards as any other restaurant? The tacos were very small delivered on a very small paper plate. The service was horrible. The carnitas were prepared in tiny shredded pieces that had no taste. Will never go there again!!!!!!

    (1)
  • Dirk H.

My husband and I live in Hollywood and we love to support the local business.. We went to the taco spot with high expectations.. We sat at a table when a bar seat came up we thought great!! People watch overlooking the beach!! Wrong!! Our waiter just seated us then left us.we had to ask for drinks.. Then our waitress came over and took our order.. The owner came over an apologized and offered us chips with his homemade sauces.. They were great!! Why not offer that to everyone to try? It was just a handful of chips?? Then we get our food which was excellent but the people next to us were smoking addicts so every bite I took was likes smoking a cigarette!!! Yuck!! They should be seated outside not under the tiki bar.. I would love to go back but they need to ventilate better if they are going to serve food under the tiki bar with smokers...Mel

    (3)
  • Nicole C.

Food wasn't that great. We got the taco combo and had asked for a chicken and a steak taco, instead i got 2 steak tacos. Service was extremely slow, had to ask 4 times for a water and then end up going to the bar for the water. And drinks seemed watered down.

    (3)
  • Ron S.

No Way! - Ordered the $5 fish taco. Had a deep fried breaded piece of fish about the size of my thumb, and packed with lettuce. The guy who wrote great food and great value must have been drunk off their $16 margarita. FYI that's not real tequila AND they don't have the Heat games on Sun Sports.

    (1)
  • Fred G.

    yuuuck!!

    (3)
  • Amanda A.

I had the steak tacos. The flavor of the steak was AMAZING. The rice and beans were extremely bland. My daughter who could live on rice and beans didn't take more than 3 bites. Service was ok, our server didn't seem to speak English well. But the tacos were very excellent!

    (3)
  • Amy G.

This place rocks! The best food and service on the boardwalk. The Baja fish tacos are amazingly flavorful. My husband tried both the carnitas and the Korean short rib tacos and they were great too. Totally worth it. Prices are great, maybe the mixed drinks are a little high priced, but the food is so reasonable - who cares? Have been back twice in three days, and will try to come again before we go home.

    (5)
  • Mila R.

I really liked the ambiance and the food. Too bad I have to fly for 5 hrs if I want to go there again.

    (4)
  • Jim M.

This place is awesome. From the location to the food, it's pretty darn good. Tonight we walked over to the beach and walked up and down the Broadwalk. We wanted something other than pizza for dinner. We opted to check out The Taco Spot. Ive only been here one other time, but it was to just relax and have some cocktails. This time we had dinner. Our server was really friendly and very attentive. The service in general was wonderful. Everyone from the hostess/greeter to the owner came by our table to see if we needed anything. The food was wonderful. The tacos were just what I wanted. I ordered the steak tacos. They are the typical "street tacos" type and with the combo we got rice, black beans and the most delicious grilled corn that had a cilantro butter brushed on it. I've never had anything quite like it. I want it again for sure! I've for sure be making frequent trips back to The Taco Spot.

    (5)
  • JR H.

Let's be realistic, no one makes the Hollywood Boardwalk a destination for authentic Mexican fare. That being said, I'm going to suggest that The Taco Spot will satisfy your hankering for fresh, high quality Mexican food. The burrito is a meal. The fish taco is delicious. The four house made sauces offer something for every taste. Go enjoy.

    (4)
  • Michael F.

The very best spot for tacos & burritos in south Florida period. Seven Amazing homemade sauces... Go with the habanero or cilantro which are fantastic. The service is great... All this with a view of the ocean. Stuart you are the best!

    (5)
  • Ian R.

My favorite place to go on Hollywood beach! You must get the Korea short rib quesadilla!! It vines with a chipotle cream dipping sauce that us amazing. Also try the Mexican French fries. The seasoning is unique and perfect. My wife loves the regular chicken and beef tacos, and my daughter the Korean chicken wings. I go there every week and truly look forward to it every time. I am so glad I found this little culinary gem!

  • Isabel B.

this is a great place to be to feel like you are really on vacation. you are right on the beach, pina coladas are just right and baja fish taco's are AWESOME!!!

    (4)
  • Mark B.

Service was solid and food was decent. Can't beat the views for the price of the meal. Korean short rib taco was pretty tasty and the corn was delicious as advertised.

  • Jessica T.

Wow!! This may be on word the BEST spots in Sofla!! Directly on beach, great staff, phenomenal tacos with a delish corn that has parm, pesto, and cilantro, great drinks and drink presentation, and fair decent prices!! Me and my girls literally say there almost entire day drinking and people watching then we left to go to nicks to eat. After looking at menu and Nicks mediocre selection we decided to give the food at taco spot a chance! Best decision ever because their food was amazing and we paid under $20 for both of our huge meals!!!! Service was super friendly and quick as well. Try the corn and mango mojotio or piña colada made with fresh pineapples served in a real pineapple!!

    (5)
  • Susanne A.

great drinking place, i wanted a shot of vodka with my beer and the bartender told me that i do not want to do that because they use the vodka only for mixing , and its from florida so he would not recommend it as a shot! now thats fair! i took a fancy pineapple drink instead he also recommended that over the coconut drink and it was a great choice! sitting directly on the boardwalk in a dive bar.... i loved it!

    (5)
  • Katherine C.

Always a go to spot for us when we are at Hollywood beach. Great draft options and love their tropical drink options. We enjoy the ambiance on the beach and great staff!

    (3)
  • Stephanie A.

Love the oceanfront location. Very friendly and efficient servers. Delicious marinated Korean short ribs over organic greens w pico de gallo, cheese, beans made a delicious salad. Combo plate of tacos and tasty grilled corn was great. Piña colada packed a real punch

    (5)
  • Betty J.

I LOVE this place I've been here a few times and had fish, tempura shrimp and the Korean BBQ tacos. AMAZING! The entire meal is about $12 which isn't bad for the beach location & view but again it's tacos so not that often.

    (5)
  • Shawn T.

My wife and I had two guests with us and brought them to The Taco Spot. The ceviche is very good and the fish tacos Too! Of course, the tacos should be good at the "taco Spot", right?!? The view was great and even though we live on the beach, enjoyed watching the people and the servers were freindly and we will be back!

    (4)
  • Steve O.

Very cool spot, great food, very fresh, great service, my waiter was Cole and he was all over the place but always checked in to see what I needed, and great people watching too!

    (5)
  • Jennifer S.

Food is not to-die-for, but ambiance is great, service was on-point, prime location (except they are somewhat short on seating space). Salads come in very large portions, make sure you try the chicken burrito -- so filling!

    (3)
  • Doug J.

If you are in the area. This is a must stop. I travel all over the US and this great spot has the best Mexican food. The service is great and the food is better. The nachos, Baka tacos are out if this world. Great job. Taco Spot!!!!!

    (5)
  • Alexander K.

Were these the best fish tacos I have had in my life? No. They were just yummy and I was happy to eat them sitting right by the beach. Was it the best service I have ever received in a restaurant? No. But our server was attentive and friendly (especially to my daughter). On top of that, my girlfriend (who is a huge salad eater) really liked her salad and hey, free refills of ice tea and did I mention it's right next to the beach?

    (4)
  • JC C.

Food is delicious! Try the carnitas nachos. The Korean rib burrito is perfectly spicy, chicken burrito is great. Balanced flavor and fast, friendly service. Great place, try it. Cheers!

Great location, really good food and drinks! My first time in Florida but definitely will come again! Oh and service is great as well, very attentive

  • S N.

Taco spot has delicious food and great service, not to mention the view! This is a must visit place for anyone who goes to Hollywood beach. The fish tacos are my favorite, but we've had many other items on the menu and they all were delicious.

    (4)
  • Celeste B.

Absolutely awesome! The Korean BBQ taco's were unique and tasty. The grilled shrimp tacos? Oh my! Top that off with good Long Islands and my beach days were amazing! Thanks, Taco Spot!

    (5)
  • Jonny T.

Popped in here last Saturday just for a quick snack. Excellent food, great value, friendly staff. We did have a slight issue where someone tried to steal money from my girlfriends mothers purse but I am in no way blaming the establishment, just a warning to be vigilant at the beach. The woman was a professional thieve working the area. I'm going back on Wednesday evening & will upgrade to five stars if they have their beer license by then.

    (4)
  • Thomas C.

Nice location on the Broadwalk for people watching and a small bite to eat while sipping boat drinks with paper umbrellas. The mahi taco was tasty (could have been hotter), but the Korean inspired taco was much better, in my opinion. Place was packed, with what seemed like mostly tourists, and despite that, the service was crisp.

    (3)
  • Alex G.

I went to the Taco Spot on Hollywood beach yesterday and absolutely loved it. My girlfriend and I had the Korean Short rib taco combo and Korean short rib burrito. Both were excellent and the owner (Stuart) was very friendly and chatted with us for a while. I will definitely come here again and highly recommend this to everyone. Don't be fooled by the other cheesy restaurants on the boardwalk, this one is legit. Has a perfect view and excellent food and drinks. You can't ask for more.

    (5)
  • R G.

Great...YUM...The Korean Short rib tacos ,the grilled corn and the hot sauces are great but the cilantro cream sauce is the bomb...The owner is a really nice guy & really will do ANYTHING to make you feel at home & make sure you enjoy everything...Jeffrey A... this is NOT a MEXICAN restaurant but a taco joint...hence the name...Taco Spot ...it does not claim to be anything but a taco joint .. If you are looking for a great TACO place where EVERYTHING is homemade...this is the place

  • Enzo T.

Whoever is giving these folks 4-5 stars must think Taco Bell is gourmet food because quite frankly I would have rather eaten at TB than this place. I stopped there with my wife (we are locals) for dinner last night. Two taco combo, a burrito, one beer and one coconut water $40!!!! The service was atrocious, 5 people stopped by to ask us if we had been helped and not one took our order, just kept going with promises of sending someone over. My tacos were small with barely any meat in them, the beans were dried up and the rice was, I'm positive, out of a box. Everything was under seasoned and cold, except for the beer which was warm. Will never eat there again!!!

    (1)
  • Chris P.

Read the yelp reviews and decided to try it. Beautiful view. Tacos fresh and the sauces are amazing. Had the combo. Grilled corn and tasty rice and beans were perfect. Will come back again. No pretense. Relaxed atmosphere Friendly attentive staff. What else do you need?

    (5)
  • Michelle M.

Wow the food is amazing and perfect location. I have eaten here a few times and it's been great every time. My favorites are the burrito, the nachos, and the fries are to die for. The service is always spot on. Give it to try it you won't be sorry.

    (5)
  • Daisy P.

This is a tiny little shack right on the Boardwalk. The staff was friendly and they serve cocktails (but not with liquor..), beers (bottle & draft), and of course tacos. We enjoyed the quesadilla, carnitas tacos, and baha fish. I particularly liked the side of corn with salsa and parmesan cheese. The blue moon draft tasted fresh and although the food was good you can tell they take little short cuts. I'll be back next time I'm in the area. :)

  • A B.

The absolute BEST taco/Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at. Cheap, cool drinks, amazing soft shell tacos and even better service! Jay was our server and he was excellent!! We also met the owner who was super nice and friendly and not like your regular boardwalk asshole restaurant owners! THE NACHOS WERE THE BEST I EVER, EVER HAD too!! They are a must have!!

    (5)
  • Jeffrey D.

Excellent... with great service and exceptional food and very reasonable prices this place is the best in Hollywood, FL. The taco's and burrito's are awesome, one would expect to pay at least 3 times more for this food quality at other restaurants. Good location with great outdoor setting compared to other (overly crowded) spots on the boardwalk. Note: must try the corn, I can't believe I would recommend corn to anyone ever but Taco Spot discovered a way to make corn taste so good.

  • Sana M.

The food here is amazing! I loved it and it was very very fresh and delicious. The Mexican and Baja flavors defiantly work together and the food was just great. I would say this is good for lunch only and now on the down side. This restaurant is really small. Like there were only 5 tables inside and a bar outside. I saw lots of people doing carry out but if you come and it's not that packed then I suggest just sitting in. I love how they have a projector outside to show the World Cup and a nice tv inside as well. But anyways it sorta felt congested kinda like you were eating in an apartment. But the food was fantastic so I say it's worth it :)

    (4)
  • Christine C.

The food was fine, nothing special. Being from Texas, I should have known not to try Mexican food that's not close to Mexico! ;) I had chicken and pork tacos... Both average. Drinks were a little pricey, but I tried the white sangria and it was pretty good.

    (3)
  • Wael J.

    best tacosssss

    (4)
  • Scott R.

It's hit or miss to find good food at a decent price on the Broadwalk. Taco Spot hits the spot. Not too expensive and the tacos are excellent. I had the Korean BBQ taco and my wife had the Baja fish. Both were excellent.

    (4)
  • G C.

Was there for lunch on a rainy day with about two other tables. The waiter didn't seen too interested in checking in on me, because some football game/highlights was on tv. The food came out very quick which was nice, and the taco flavors were very good, however there were probably two pieces of meat/fish in them. The corn that people raved about was cold and not all that. I wanted to like this place more but just wasn't a place I'd go back to.

YES!!! This place is amazing. The food is awesome. I've had their fish and shrimp tacos a few times now and they are delicious. The fish a FRESH and the sauces they use (creamy cilantro WOW) are the BOMB. Now onto the DRANKS... The pina colada in a pineapple for $15? So worth it. It's the strongest one I've ever had but still delish. And it's in a pineapple! So awesome. Their sangria is to die for. I've had like 3 others and those were all great too. I L-O-V-E The Taco Spot. I almost forgot to mention the gorgeous ocean views that you have while you eat! Love it here, I can't get enough.

Exactly what we were looking for! Great drinks, good service, and people watching. Yelp came through for me yet again! Searched for the best Pina Colada in the area and ended up at this spot. The were very tasty and strong, served up in a giant fresh pineapple. Very picture worthy which I loved! I had a the salas and fresh guacamole as an appetizer and a mushroom burrito (I'm vegetarian) which were both great. Don't forget to try out there homemade sauces to kick up your meal a notch. My friend tried 3 different tacos and said they were the best he's ever had. Go had try it for yourself you won't be disappointed!

The location is the best part about this place. The food and serving size are both pretty good. We went on a Tuesday and no "Taco Tuesday" specials like other taco spots around the corner. No big deal. I ordered the chicken burrito and my girlfriend ordered the chicken flour soft tacos. The burrito was awesome. The sauces that they have on the table really gave the food it's great flavor. The chicken tacos were pretty good. No complaints over here, it's really hard to mess up my girls taco( that's what he said). The location is by far the best thing about the restaurant. Being right on the Broadwalk and being able to look at the water while people watching really makes this Taco Spot a place to visit.

The fish tacos were amazing. Really, really delicious. Beans, rice, and corn were nice touches. My daughters each enjoyed the cheese quesadillas, and our dining partner loved his burrito. The sangria was OK. I knocked two stars off because it did not smell good in here, and I felt like it needed a DEEP cleaning.

So, sitting by the ocean and drinking a pina colada was on our daughter's bucket list. I discovered this as she and I were taking a walk along the broadwalk. We came across The Taco Spot and noticed a sign board outside advertising their pina coladas. The sign board had a photo of a hollowed out pineapple that was filled with a pina colada. This served 2 people and cost $15. I told her that I thought it was too much for 2 people. We went inside and found out that smaller ones that were served in a plastic cup were available. Right away, I noticed the slushie machine and figured that this would be a weak, almost virgin, drink. She told me to go grab a table outside while she got the drinks. 2 drinks cost, with the tip included, cost $20 and it was her treat. We sat at the table slowly sipping our drinks (we had to sip slowly---either that or get brain freeze!) Right away, I picked up on the very strong rum flavor. I haven't had a pina colada in years but this was the strongest one I ever had! Woo wee!---so strong that it got me drunk! Fortunately, not bad enough to get sick or stagger around but, still...! Meanwhile, our daughter was just fine---and apologetic. No need to be apologetic, I consented to having this drink and didn't expect it to affect me this way. All that said, I have no idea what their tacos are like. Maybe, in hindsight, it would have been a good idea to eat one to go along with that darned pina colada. So...if you are ever in Hollywood Beach, strolling along the broadwalk and spot that pina colada sign and find yourself wanting one...expect it to be a strong one! You have been warned LOL!

I came here on a nice, sunny day with my girlfriend to have lunch & have drinks. I like this place because it's on the Hollywood strip, right next to the beach. It's the ideal place to eat lunch, feel the ocean breeze, and enjoy the view. Only con is that you always have to pay for parking, but hey-- it's Hollywood beach, it's expected. We got to catch up w/ our lives while sippin on pina coladas, which had a decent amount of alcohol (compared to some places that give you small, watered down drinks). I didn't have the pleasure of trying their corn or fish tacos, but I hear their pretty spectacular. I did get a taste of their ground beef salads---it came in a big bowl with the usual taco toppings (guacamole, tomatoes, cheese, beans, etc) & was quite filling. Plus, there's a tiki hut bar right behind the building that had really good cocktails with cheaper prices.

This spot is awesome! Great view, and attentive staff. We go there for the Coco Locos and to watch the waves. Great place for conversation and relaxing near the water. I would say the only issue is that the place is pretty small, and since it is very popular, it can be hard to get a seat that is not directly in the sunlight. The food is definitely better than most places on the beach! Steak tacos! :)

Amazing place! Hanging out with the family for the 4th of July celebration. Mexican fried with special sauce is great! Beef quesadillas with the special sauce is amazing! Sangria l is pretty good as well. However, I see everyone buying the pineapple with shots inside of them. They look amazing

Stopped in for lunch and to people watch while we eat... great place for both activities! The menu is loaded with unique, fresh options. Their salsa wasn't much to speak of, but the chips that came with it were amazing! We ended up using the green jalapeno sauce in the bottle on the table with the chips and it tasted amazing! We tried their grilled corn and it was good, but didn't have much spice flavor to it. Also tried their wings, which are made on a Korean marinade and grilled. Not much flavor other than the grilling, but still nice. The tacos were really good.. got the Mahi and the Shrimp and enjoyed both. Nicely packed and flavorful. Only issue is the prices are rather high. But service was decent and the view outstanding!

My hubby and I love to come here after a day together on the beach. It's nice to enjoy their chicken nachos and red sangria while still enjoying a beautiful view and "people watching". Stuart is a wonderful host and owner who cares about you enjoying your meal. They have a loyal fan! They stay pretty busy, so don't be surprised if you have to wait a few minutes....but it's definitely worth it. Our waitress this evening, Jasinia (sp?) was so pleasant and Stuart was A+ yet again.

Great food, great service, great view! The food was all delicious and the staff wS very friendly. Very small place so I'm sure it fills up quick. Reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend if you're visiting the broadwalk.

We strolled along the boardwalk looking for a place to eat this past Sunday, and the Taco Spot looked like a perfect place to try. Everything we ate tasted very fresh and flavorful, and the service was great! We started with the chips and salsa, excellent. I ordered the taco combo--one carnitas, one steak-- the carnitas was okay, but the steak was absolutely delicious! It was juicy and tender, perfect for the tacos. Food was great. Let's talk about the Margaritas, shall we? I had two 16 OUNCE margaritas by the time we left. I'm not usually much of a drinker, so that says a lot. They were so good! I will definitely be back when I'm craving something delicious at the beach.

Very unique flavors here. This was good food. I have to say everything tasted fresh, and the service was good too. The place was hopping and we didn't wait long for our food at all. My only enemy here was the windy conditions from the ocean air. Oh and sorry to the people that were sitting down wind from us! Our menus and napkins kept blowing off the table until we started wedging them into the table cracks! Hubby likes to sit on the sidewalk to people watch, which I do also, but I was hungry. So eating was my priority. Thankfully, he had his cap with him because every time I tried to take a bite the wind would blow my hair into my food. It was futile. The cap helped, but it was still an uphill battle as I tried to savor the crunchy beef tacos. The sauce on them added a depth to the flavors that was really new for me. I love corn on the cob, but I had never tried it with the cilantro before. This corn was cooked perfectly, but i think the cilantro over powered it for me. Hubby on the other hand thought it was the bomb. My only complaint on the tacos is that they were a bit salty. I did think the crunchy shells were fantastic. I would like to come here again and try more things on the menu, and of course, sit inside so I can enjoy my food better.

What's better than a day on Hollywood beach? A day on Hollywood beach followed by lunch at the Taco Spot! Fun to sit outside at one of the tables lining the broadwalk. Start with a "Kokoloco"-- a piña colada served in a coconut-- or one of their other specialty drinks! The carnitas burrito was delish, although it tasted as if the chef might be Cuban as opposed to Mexican! Fantastic regardless. Hubby was satisfied with his chicken quesadilla and Coke, but I definitely had the better meal. What the wait staff lacks in speed they make up for in conscientiousness.

Great spot on Hollywood Beach. Affordable, and great seating (if you are able to find any). The Chicken Quesadillas are awesome as well as the Sangrias! Will return if I'm back on the boardwalk.

I can actually state I've tried mouth watering authentic tacos for the first time in my 29 years of existence. Move over every other taco making competitor. By the way, the drinks are refreshing and the bar tender mixes just the right amount of alcohol on the mixed drinks. My strawberry daiquiri was fine but the Miami vice was on point! 5 stars rated by me if you want to dine in a nice relaxing atmosphere on the boardwalk. Try to sit near a fan would be my tip to you all. Oh and before I forget, you have to order the fried shrimp tempura tacos with a bit of guacamole added to it. You won't forget my suggestion!!!

Wanted to try this place for the past month, but could not make it until last night due to my boyfriend and my conflicting schedules. Finally made time to go and hurried out of the house to make it there on time (before 10pm, their posted closing time). Arrived at 9:20pm to a restaurant mopping the floors and putting chairs on tables while two couples were dining separately outside. Asked to be seated and were informed that the kitchen was closed bc business was "slow" and were turned away, 40 minutes before officially closing. No effort was made to accommodate us. Was looking forward to trying The Taco Spot as we live rather close, but will not be making the effort again in the future. Drove to another great taco place that is farther but at least they stay open until they say they will.

Get the Korean short rib taco or quesadillas! Fantastic! I am not a kimchi fan so I asked to have mine with out the fermented vegetables. So flavorful and spicy! I live near-by but love to get the piña colada in the pineapple and pretend to be on a beach vacation! Fun place, great view, great food!

Loved everything about this place. Location, Location, Location, and the food is awesome. Very good for Gluten Free eaters. I had the fish taco and one of the meat tacos. Yum Yum. I for sure will come back here. Also the view is great. I sat outside and watched everyone walk by.

Wow! So good we had to go back a 2nd time before leaving Florida! Went in the evening tried a pineapple drink. I read the previous review complaining about the cost but we were staying at the W and I paid $15.00 for a drink in a little plastic cup where as I paid $15.00 for a fresh pineapple with an umbrella and it was filled with a yummy cocktail so to me it was awesome! The 2nd day went for lunch. What a view! Sitting watching the ocean while we enjoyed our lunch. Our group had hard shell chicken tacos, Mahi Mahi burrito, ground beef burrito, soft shell fish tacos all were exceptional! Would definitely go back! Oh and great service too!

This is my first time posting a yelp review. That's how good this place is, it made me want to write a review. These tacos make you want to cry and call your parents and tell them you love them. I've been here for a week on vacation and I've gone here every day. I'd strongly recommend their grilled mahi taco on flour tortilla as well as the grilled shrimp taco on flour tortilla. Both those tacos are reason enough to live. Their Mexican fries come in a huge portion but you won't be able to take it home with you because it's so good you'll eat it all. If you're not big on fish tacos their Korean short rib was very good as well. Not only is the food amazing but you get to eat right in front of the beach and stare at people who are way out of your league. The wait staff has been very friendly every time I've gone here too. The only negative thing is that they don't deliver to New Jersey. Welp can't win em all I guess.

This place was ok. The cob on the cob was not great it tasted plain and wasn't chard enough. The fish taco was my favorite but the carnitas taco was ok too. Nothing out of this world. The quesadillas was also just ok but for $10 I expect more. We also got the white sangria and I didn't like it tasted like light peach juice with a splash of wine not worth the $15. We tried this place based on the yelp reviews but they failed me.

Popped in on this little taco stand while we were walking the boardwalk on Hollywood Beach. The tacos were good, especially the Carnitas. They have Korean kimchi tacos as well. I am Korean and have eaten kimchi all my life, and I wasn't impressed. also I've never been to a Mexican taco stand or restaurant that didn't serve chips and salsa on the house. We had to pay separately for this. Because of the pricing and just average food this Takes away from the experience. Beautiful views of the beach and Latin music blasting from their patio makes for a perfect evening of people watching. If you're tired of walking and need a bite to eat and a relaxing view of Hollywood Beach it's worth a stop.

Boy Oh Boy!! That's the phrase that pays for this amazing spot. We frolicked in the Atlantic the Entire day and what does one do when you frolick?! That's right. You find a Great taco spot. Right on the boardwalk, people watched and didn't say one word to each other - That's when you know it's Good! They have amazing sauces, tacos galore. I'm not talking regular, even though the have that as well, I'm talking Korean BBQ and much more. And the grilled corn on the cob was INSANE!!! It's a must have!!!

This is my favorite place in Hollywood Beach. The atmosphere is perfectly matched to a laid back beach day and the food is spectacular. I have tried everything on the menu but my favorite order is the baja fish tacos with a margarita on the rocks! Everything is fresh and the prices are right, especially for being in this prime location. You can cozy up at one of the tables to people watch or you can walk straight up to the bar and order to go to enjoy tasty tacos and drinks on your beach blanket. Love love love this place!

Most native South Floridians like myself know when going to Hollywood Beach you hit Johnson St and stand in front of the Band shell for like 12 minutes mixing it up with loved ones trying to decide whether to walk North or South. 1 of the few reasons to make a right turn and head South in the past was 'Frenchies' (Disclaimer: Frenchies was at times an enjoyable establishment for even American patrons in le cirque de trust) but Frenchies has been knocked down and swept up to make way for Jimmy Buffets latest 'big corporaty Margaritaville. Sooo today after 13 minutes of fending off and pushing ourselves past the Salt O the Earth Fellas who call the Band Shell "La Casa" we headed North past Thongs-R-Us, Subway and Nicks to plant our asses outside Charlie F's (Yes, THAT Charlie F.) seemingly fave Hollywood Beach joint. I know it is the 'Season' so yes the beach was buzzing but strangely we didn't encounter many Quebecois ( I know, really weird right?) , we actually had to bob-N-weave through a Sea of NYC Boricuas and Peaches and Creamy Ohio Tourists but we are happy we did. Everything my gorgeous wife (who's from Sand Diego) and I had was delicious and freshly made. I'm from here but lived in San Diego 2 years so I cannot say The Taco Spot has traditional Mexi Chow BUT for down here it's different and damn delicious! Bottom line, everything was fresh and cooked in house AND to our surprise the service was excellent. I had the Mahi Taco combo and walked away smiling my A** off, licking my fingers, mumbling and feeling pretty damn good about myself\ (true story). Oh wait up,! If nothing else have the grilled corn,!!!!. Trust me you'll remember I wrote this review if you ever have it, it's ridiculously good (watch) :) If ever on Hollywood Beach please stop in, on the Boardwalk at least this place stands out.

The Taco Spot does not fall short on great food. I had the short rib, baja fish, and shrimp tempura tacos. All of the tacos were phenomenal. The short rib tacos had a bit of a kick to it and the meat was very tender while the other two were fresh and so tasty. I also had their corn on the cob which was okay but it fell short of my expectations. Others in my party opted for burritos where one person said "that was the best burrito I had in my life." Just so you know, it was the short rib burrito. The reason for the 3 star rating was the service and wait time for the food to arrive at out table. Our waitress was sweet but we never saw her. We had to flag her down to refill drinks a couple of times. We also waited 35 minutes for our food to arrive. Perhaps it was an off night. Overall, I really liked The Taco Spot. They have fantastic tacos. Just make sure you're not in any rush when you're there, it may be a while.

Their cocoloco and piñaloco are the main reasons to go there. Their food is good but not the best taco joint I've been to. My biggest criticism is they use canned mushrooms in their vegetable dishes, other than that the view and drinks are must-haves.

I could not have been happier with my visit. Not only can you sit right on the beach and have a great meal but to have an amazing view of the water and not go bankrupt for the meal is always a plus. The service was great and the food was good. We dined outside at the bar top area that faces the boardwalk. We were greeted and drink orders were taken immediately. I ordered a mushroom quesadilla and Mexican fries. The quesadilla was filled with cheese and mushrooms, served between huge flour tortillas. The Mexican fires were the best basket of fries I have had. They were freshly cut and to my surprise NO GREASE! I ordered a side of salsa; this stuff was so fresh I could have drunk it as juice. I am anxious to go back to try they burrito, I am a burrito fanatic.

I am amazed at how great this place is! I got the ground beef nachos and oh my goodness, so good-spicy but not hurt your mouth hot. Then I ordered the short rib burrito, and the sheer size was so massive that I could only eat half of it. Then you go into the cocktails- I ordered a Marley and I am in heaven. This is definitely a great place to sit, eat, drink, and enjoy the view of the beach while relaxing and taking it all in. Make sure to drop by and enjoy as much as I did!!!!

I don't normally write reviews but this place... God's gift to earth. Best hard tacos I've ever had in my entire life. Now I've eaten many tacos, one may even say that I'm a taco connoisseur. But this place takes the cake for both tacos and drinks. If you ever wonder to yourself, "what is the purpose of life? Is it 42?" No sir. It is not. The correct answer you're looking for is, The Taco Spot.

We were in Fort Lauderdale on vacation and always use yelp to find the best places. Although The Taco Spot wasn't one of the top spots we thought we'd give it a try. Atmosphere is awesome, you are a few yards away from the beach. We were seated immediately, but it wasn't all that busy when we went. I had the Grilled Mahi Buritto, (Second trip I had the Baja Fish) and chips/salsa/guac that we got for the whole table. The burrito was Chipotle size, but was grilled after it was wrapped, so it had a wonderful crisp to it. Fish was spectacular! Chips, Guac and Salsa were all awesome, nothing ridiculous to report, just quality stuff. I had an overpriced drink in a pineapple, it was good, but not $15 good. Its a novelty that got me likes on Facebook when I uploaded the picture.

The service was drab. However I was not dining in and just wanted to enjoy the meal on the beach. The girls acted as if they were being interrupted and customer service should be refreshed. A smile would help a lot. I was no there for the service but the delicious piña colada that comes in a lovely pineapple with a extra shot. That drink will have you so delighted that you will care less about the staff and be glad they can just make the drink. The meal was delicious. The grilled shrimp were full of flavor and not over cooked. The meal came with black beans and rice, grilled corn on the cob and was more than enough. Fresh ingredients and the flavors followed by a refreshing drink were the best way to enjoy a sunny beachside day.

Clean place with good service. Nice view of the ocean. They use off name liquors. Mojito was better than margarita. Good amount of liquor in each. No chips and salsa here. I had nachos which are made with seasoned chips and cheese wiz sauce instead of melted cheddar. Korean BBQ taco wasn't spicy for having kimchi on it. I think taco beach shack is much better for food.

    A. Great prices - $8 for a 32oz beer (craft beers) - $6 for miller lite type beers B. Huge beers and great frozen drinks. C. Amazing tacos and nachos. - we ordered carnitas nachos, carnitas taco combo and chicken taco combo. - both were very tasty, good portion size, and great house-made hot-sauces. D. Friendly and personable staff!

Definitely five stars for the food but I had to take off a star for the poor service. I was in last night and it took 20 minutes for a server to come over to us. We debated leaving but we had already paid for parking so we stayed. The food is EXCELLENT. I love the shrimp and mahi tacos. The drinks are strong and reasonable. I will 100% be back.

Once Again with no bone to pick or ax to grind I don't see how this place rates so highly. Sunday afternoon walking Hollywood Beach and this place jumps out at you as it looks great and menu interesting. Seating both downstairs on the walk directly or higher up overlooking. Some seating inside but it is as hot as a Laundry mat in there its downright awful. Beer & wine only from what I can see and we ordered up some Cerveza's which were not by any stretch of the imagination Ice cold.. Strike 1 Nachos loaded came out in exactly 1 minute from order which were some salsa chips then they threw on some ground beef, peppers, cheese, quacamole, and salsa and then nuked it for about 10 seconds... 9.99 a disgraceful. Mahi Taco was Ok but equally thrown together as well were the other Taco Choices. The Best thing on the table was a steak burrito but even that with added hot sauce it was utterly tasteless. 1 Mens / Ladies bathroom inside with the line 5 deep.. and looking into the kitchen I simply didn't think I'd want to come here again. Service was good but all and all this is an epic failure.

yelpers, y'all did me wrong. this place is barely food. I feel awful that we spent $50 there having one of the worst meals I've had in while. now to be fair: it's partially our fault. we wanted to be lazy and not leave the septuagenarian arms of the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk. the margaritas are out of a machine. heavy on high fructose corn syrup, low on actual limes and tequila. the chicken nachos are not good. liquid cheese sauce is big personal turn off. they were a flavorless sloppy mess of Sisco frozen everything. just say no. the grilled corn. how do you screw this up? it's 4 ingredients, tops. weak and flavorless just like everything else. ask for salt! ...never mind. it won't help. tacos: I don't know why we were still eating at this point. Baja fried fish taco: incredibly below average. the Korean short rib taco: I was told by the server that it was spicy, which is what I wanted bc I dislike sweet meat. one bite...all sweet, no spicy bite. also fatty and just kinda gross. I don't think I finished a single bite. the service was below average but at least she was friendly, unlike this food will be on my insides later. denizens of Yelp, please don't make the mistake we made.

It would be zero stars for the mahi mahi burrito I ordered, but between my zero and everyone's meal along with the location, I settled on two. Back to the mahi mahi burrito - don't order it. I asked the waitress if she recommended the baja fish or mahi mahi and she immediately said mahi, so I figured that had to be a good sign (clearly I don't know how to read signs, because it wasn't a good one). First everyone aside from me gets their meal, which was mostly tacos and burritos (there was definitely more value in the burrito) all of which were decent and so was the corn. 20 minutes later my mahi mahi comes out after my husband had to get up to ask where it was. Note this was after everyone else had pretty much finished. One bite and I knew I had just gotten some really, really bad fish. Not like bad as in "Oh it wasn't seasoned well", but rather bad as in "I might die from eating this." Obviously I sent it back and didn't want anything else since everyone was already done eating and I had been mooching off their food while waiting for my own. While the fish was certainly the worst part, the insult to injury was they didn't take it off the check until we brought it to the attention of the owner/manager? (not sure which he was). He apologized immediately handled it without an issue, so he gets kudos for doing so and being really nice about it. Drinks are not strong at all when it comes to alcohol, but do come off strong on being artificial tasting and sweet. The mojito was the best and actually pretty good considering the quality of the other drinks. I wouldn't recommend the margarita and the pina colada if you've ever had them at a real bar you will certainly be disappointed. The best part is truly the location and the people watching - that really gets 5 stars as it's a ton of fun. Sit at an outdoor table on the boardwalk, order a huge mojito, a burrito that is NOT mahi mahi, go with friends (so you can quietly make fun of people walking by your table without looking crazy by talking to yourself), and enjoy the gorgeous weather, the beach, the palm trees. If there are only tables available inside I highly recommend you wait for a table outside or go somewhere else.

Perfect spot on the boardwalk in Hollywood to grab a quick bite before heading back to the beach. The Miami Vice's were cool and refreshing on a warm day (75 degrees coming from NY in January was warm!). I am a huge fan of short rib tacos and they make one of the best I've had! The baja style fish taco was great as well. My fiance's quesadilla was exactly how it should be, cheesy and crispy. If you're going to park yourself on Hollywood beach, put your chairs close to The Taco Spot.

Pretty solid Mexican food for being on Hollywood Beach, and I'm from Los Angeles. Tacos are big and beer is plentiful. My date had a huge salad. Bill was average for Oceanside locale. It's just a tiny "soda", by Costa Rican standards

Was surprised that this place was pretty good. Thought since it's right on the beach that the food and drinks would be lame but the pineapple drink and the taco were good.

It says they're open until 11pm, I just drove 15 miles to get here at 9:20pm, and was told that they were closed. There were 7 tables seated with people. When I mentioned that the website said they were open, the host was very rude. :( I've really been wanting to try this place and this experience really turned me off.

Okay this place is a gem!!! Foodies be warned that you will return here several times!! Great service, great drinks, amazing food and very reasonably priced! The burrito is gigantic and delicious. Tacos are fresh and cheap. Nachos are huge with a ton of toppings. Try the wings!! Korean short rib is spot on. They do Mexican right!

  • Rob C.

Food is delicious here! The nachos are so good. Tacos great too. The corn on the Cobb is amazing. And the place has a terrific view of the beach and boardwalk.

Better than the last time. Always a sure thing when on Hollywood Beach. The sangria is too strong on the wine base. Service is always great. The managers keep things flowing at a great pace.

  • Mira K.

Great location and delicious food! We got the mahi and shrimp taco combos. The homemade sauce is delicious and everything was cooked well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the service could be a bit better. Another table got served before us when they sat after us and we had to ask for more water.

  • Gemma L.

Cute little outside place right on Hollywood beach, I had the grilled Mahi taco combo! It was delicious! The corn on the cob is amazing! Already craving more! The red sangria was the best I've ever had ! Deff recommend this place for lunch

  • Megan V.

All I had here was a piña colada! It was pretty cool because they put it in a actual pineapple but the only thing that sucks is it's not fresh pina it's from a slushie machine. But it was good pricing, 10$ with out liquor and 15$ with a shot.

The perfect lunch right on the broadwalk! Fantastic fish tacos and the best pineapple mojito!

  • Lisandra S.

Authentic Mexican it's not. But people seem to enjoy there colorfully drink. Drinks are more for show. Like the pineapple. I just didn't enjoy myself. The only good thing about this place is that you can see the water if your sit outside

The coconut drink with coconut water and rum was SO GOOD!! The tacos on point. We had carnitas and bbq shrimp w/corn on the side. Small spot but we came in the evening after 8:30 on a Sunday & they were so nice. We will def come back again. Great food with great drinks and a view!!

Had grilled shrimp taco was really good. Short rib taco was spicey but delicious. Chicken and beef was on point. The banana colada was delicious. Fast service. Good view. Will go back.

Great location. Open outside shaded deck, perfect to relax and people watch. Had Ceviche, Guacamole & Cerveza's. Fantastic!! 3 homemade sauces. Red Spicy Me was my Favorite. They sell the sauces in Mason Jars. Excellent view, service and prices. Look for the grass hut roof on the boardwalk.

Love the mahi fish tacos as well as the mahi fish burrito! Full of flavor and fresh. The mexican fries are well seasoned with a great chipotle mayo. Ambiance is low key and its right on the beach. Definitely will be coming back.

What a disappointment. Yelp really failed us on this place. We are from Arizona in town for a cruise. We have never been to Hollywood Beach and don't know any locals, I say this because if we have frequented a city before and/or have fam or friends there usually we really on past experience or their recommendations, when we don't have either we rely solely on yelp to decide where to eat. There are a ton of places to eat in Hollywood Beach and this was ranked higher than most places with 4 stars. We read reviews and majority loved the guacamole, corn on the cob and short rib tacos. We ordered our entire meal based on what seemed to be the most popular on yelp and it was TERRIBLE. I don't know if it is just because we are from AZ and have amazing Mexican food, but really how do you screw up guac and corn?? How was it so highly rated and reviewed?!? Our experience: Guacamole = tasted just like lime. Overpowering amounts of lime. I even picked some of the salsa into it trying to fix it, but still it was just LIME. No avocado taste, onion, anything ...just Lime. Corn= no flavor. Cold. Usually when we get street corn it is drippin in butter and/or mayo (traditional way) but this was just dry. My husband is not a picky eater and loves any excuse to eat corn, whether just corn on the cob or "street corn" aka elote--he took two bites and said it was the worst corn he has ever had Short Rib=supposed to be spicy but no spice. Just nothing special. Certainly not worth $5.50 for a single one of them! We rely on Yelp and usually it always is on point. I try to limit my yelping unless A truly wonderful or awful experience...I had to leave a review on this one because the other reviews were so off it makes me wonder if they were paid. I hope the ratings on this place go down because we opted out of many other places that looked better as we walked by for this place.

Great little place by the beach. Mahi mahi tacos and the steak tacos were scrumptious ! Gourmet quality for beach location. Plays soft music and has ping pong! Tasted like heaven and pretty friendly service . About 4 blocks from beach ... Worth the quick walk . Sauces were fresh and savory! The biggest surprise was the corn on cob ! It was a multi layered and delight - but not overwhelming . It had cheese , butter , light spices , in a word --delicious . I can't wait to go back !

Well, tacos with a view- how can you go wrong? Well the short answer is by ordering nachos. Don't waist your time or .calories. I mean, it's called the taco spot for a reason. The chips and salsa are good and fresh, although I would have liked a little bigger serving of salsa. The guacamole has a bit too much lime for me, but everyone has a different idea of what good guacamole is. Many people comment on how strong the drinks are, but the margaritas are pretty weak; a bit more tequila would make them quite tasty. I mean, mexican places should have great margaritas. But the tacos--yum! Between my hubby and me, we sampled the carnitas, grilled shrimp, tempura shrimp, and tempura soft shell crab tacos. All were good, but the tempura shrimp were our hands down favorite. You just don't expect anything fried to have that much flavor. Trust me on this. I would normally give this type of place 3 stars, but that taco with a view that is hard to beat ramps it up to a 4. I will definitely come back here on our next trip to the area. Maybe I will try one of those drinks in the whole pineapple or coconut everyone raves about, or maybe the margaritas will be tuned up by then.

Great late night happy hour with $2 margs and 3 for $3 mini tacos. Pretty yummy! Seating was tight but it was a Saturday evening at about 10pm. We got a seat at the bar so we didn't have to wait. It was HOT from all the air blowing out of the kitchen/bar so I would not recommend sitting there as the fans don't hit you either. I ordered the special tacos (chicken) but got beef instead. Still good, mix up and everything. Bartender wasn't that friendly but he did say he didn't normally work weekends and was a bit frazzled. Would go back but only because of the cheap specials, not the atmosphere.

Only our fav place on the board walk. Great food, great service and although the liquor isn't the norm for me. I can still appreciate a good piña colada dressed to impress!!

The reviews for this place maybe set my expectations a little too high. Definitely not the best tacos I've eaten, but also not the worst. My husband ordered the ground beef tacos and I had the steak burrito. We shared -- each eating half a burrito and one taco. I thought the steak burrito was better. The ground beef lacked flavor and there was entirely too much coleslaw on both the taco and burrito. Not really my taste. The chips and homemade salsa were my favorite part of the meal. The salsa was great and the chips were seasoned, which I also enjoyed. Great location, right on the broadwalk. Perfect spot for people watching! Overall a decent outdoor lunch spot, but nothing to die for either.

This place was really good! Im a sauce fanatic so for one, their hot sauces were amazing. Tacos were good, corn was good, service was fast, location is right on the boardwalk, just what we looked for. The only downside was my soda was really watery and even when they filled it up again it was still really watery. But excellent place overall!

Atmosphere: 5 - Right on the Hollywood Broadwalk. Make sure you sit out front so you can people watch Food: 2 - $14 for two fish tacos. If I wanted a cabbage and salsa taco I would have ordered it.... but I ordered a Mahi Mahi Taco.....where is the fish ????? An unnecessary and annoying cost cutting trick used by many restaurants especially taco joints. The tacos were hidden by low cost items such as an ear of corn and rice and beans. Corn was sweet and the rice and beans could have been warmer. The taco shells were a bit stale. Service: 2 Great service but Marissa my server decided that she would round up my bill and pocket my 16 cents. I wonder at what point does she stop keeping the change. Another unnecessary and annoying food service trick. I left her a dollar but it would have been a lot more if she had not pocketed my change. Great place on the Hollywood Broadwalk but watch out for the tricks !! Score 1.8

Not impressed. First time for the wife and i. I love tacos and the appeal of tacos on the beach was more than i could stand. We went last nught (saturday) around 9pm. The ambiance was nice and the idea great. The execution was poor. I ordered the korean taco combo $12 and the wife ordered cerviche with shrimp and fish $10. I ordered a Dos xx lager draft $4 and she a red sangria $8. We sat outside on the sidewalk. The service was prompt and attentive. The beer was not very cold and the fruit in the sangria was very red due to it being in the dispenser they use. My wife said the sangria was ok, not great. My taco combo came with a small side of rice and refied beans and a grilled corn on the cob. The rice and beans were bland. I only had one bite. The corn was good, but very small kernals. It had lime and mexican creme with a little seasoning. The tacos tasted really good and i enjoyed the taste, but they were too wet and there was no choice between corn or flour tortillas. I prefer corn. My wifes cerviche was the site of a small cocktail glass (see pic) however it was 90% onions, tomatoes and cilantro and no fish. When the waitress came to check on us i showed the cup to her and she apologized and brought us a new more ful cup. $34 before taxes. I probably wont be going back. In thier defense i have yet to find a good place on the Hollywood Broadwalk that has good food. I think most cut corners due to high rents. Service gets high marks and food gets low.

I've never had the chance to eat here (although the nachos look good). I stop at this spot whenever my SO and I come to walk hollywood beach. From the three times we have stopped here, we have gotten Blue Moon and it is not as cold as we like- which is a bummer. I gave 2.5 stars because the spot is laid back and had salsa (which was very welcoming the first time we came). It wasn't an authentic chinchoro like in PR, but it's close. I would return here but probably for a frozen drink or something that I KNOW will be cold.

Freaken awesome! Salsa is to die for. My son had ground beef burrito and loved it. I have the steak burrito and it was incredible! So glad we stopped here.

Amazing!!! You can mix and match different tacos to make a combo. The corn is good but could be sweeter and hotter. Atmosphere and view of the ocean are priceless! We take all of our out of town guests here. My favorite are the grilled shrimp tacos. I don't know what kind of sauce they drizzle in them but it is sweet, savory, and hits the spot every time! They also have at least 3 different house made hot sauces you have to try.

Hands down the best taco fix EVERY time!!! Service is excellent, the view is ideal and of course the food and drinks are worth it in terms of what Hollywood Beach has to offer. I have come here with my girlfriend on several occasions and have never been disappointed. My last visit I had an encounter with a drunk rowdy patron, but the staff diffused the situation and offered their apologies and the best service ever!! Shout out to Cole, best waiter EVER!!! Very attentive. This place does not skimp on the alcohol nor the flavor of food. The Miami Vice is my guilty pleasure, my girlfriend loves the mojitos. Korean bbq wings are a must try. Oh and the sauces...Excellent sauces to complement every meal. Overall, a good vibe and place to hang out when you visit Hollywood beach.

  • Sheena C.

The Taco was our favorite spot on the boardwalk and we'll definitely go back! For drinks, the frozen piña colada served in a full pineapple was amazing! The guacamole and salsa is must, so fresh and tasty. We also had tacos, the chicken was the best! The service was a little slow but the staff was nice.

  • Dan C.

The view at this place is a 10/5 stars. It's the best spot on the boardwalk to sit and look at the ocean because it sits about 10 feet up and allows for a good view of the ocean and if you look down just a bit you have all the people watching you could ever ask for. The staff is very attentive and the owner is usually in there hustling to make sure the customer's are well taken care of. I've had about everything on the menu but the Korean short rib tacos are by far my favorite. The frozen drinks are tasty and strong but if you want to add an extra shot or 3 they are only like $2 a piece. I always make sure to stop by when I'm in the area and have sent several people here and always get good feedback.

The BEST Mexican food I've ever had!!! Great drinks (try the Coronarita)! The Korean beef burrito is on point. The staff is super chill and even cut us a new pineapple to eat at the beach. It's my second time back and the quality is consistent. Also, great beach music!

What a fantastic spot for a taco and a view of the beach. The bf and I were on our way home from Miami towards the airport when we decided to stop here for a meal, and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful surprise weekend getaway. Their fish tacos were amazing, as was the corn. We sat at the bar facing the water, and I couldn't have asked for a perfect ending to our vacation. A must try.

  • Corey A.

Stumbled upon this place on yelp and figured I would give it a try. The Concept is there, however the execution is not. The fish tacos were sub par, I asked for blackened seasoning and it was far from that. Fish had no flavor and overall the taco was a huge let down. The only upside about this spot was the corn on the cob and the views.

  • Decent T.

Food was ok, guac was ok, staff were ok, chips were ok, prices were ok. The grilled shrimp taco however was a homerun. Maybe im just getting jaded after 4 hours of being in hollywood that i feel like because im caucasion i dont fit in?

I am not usually a picky reviewer, but it took 3 times as long as the estimated wait to get a table - over an hour in total. Once we got a table the food was not quick or nearly good enough to have waited 2 hours for (after the wait at the table). The drinks that we got during our wait were not particularly tasty but were effective enough that we were all hungover by the time our food actually arrived. This experience was terrible enough for me to download the app just to write them a review.

What more can I say about this place but thumbs up!! My boyfriend and I came for a wedding to Florida but didn't want to leave for the taco spot. We came here bc of a suggestion and so happy we listened. The first night we came the server cole helped us and was so helpful to what the different things were and how spicy they were. I got the steak tacos and pineapple piña colda that was the strongest colda I ever got! (Not a bad thing) the music and the atmosphere was great. Our last day here we of course had to come to taco spot. Talking to our server carlo we found out the owner is from Philly as are we. The owner actually came out to talk to us which was great he's on the premise and helping out. I wish there was a taco spot near us. Will deff be back if I'm in the area again

  • Carolina Q.

I don't know who came out with putting radishes and cabbage on a Taco, but they deserve a medal!!! They are so good, we never leave a crumb. The corn is weirdly delicious, and the mexican fries, well, let's say that we fight over them. Definitely it's a once a month thing for us. A friend recommended the place for us, and we have been loyal costumers since then.

  • Cynthia B.

One of my faves on Hollywood beach! The best nachos ever! When my family eats here we usually order chicken nachos, chicken quesadilla, and a steak burrito and we split them all. Sooooo good! They have fun drinks made in pineapples and coconuts.

  • Jessica R.

I love yelp and use it all the time. This place is a disgrace to the system. They tried to bribe me with a shot to give them a good review. How low can you go! Maybe they should just work on their crappy service and inedible food. The chicken tasted like it was cooked days ago and the guacamole came out of a bag I saw them squeeze it into the cup. The drinks were like bug juice if you ever had it the stuff you drink when you're camping made from colored sugar powder. The bathroom is so gross I had to walk down the boardwalk for fear of taking home more than I paid for.

    (1)

Not that cheap but still good. They have a pina colada in a pineapple make sure when you order that you ask for the inside of the pineapple as well or they will use It for other various reasons

  • Adam S.

Delicious! Good stop on the beach. Definitely stop if you're on Hollywood Beach. We've been here twice in a week! Definitely order the taco combo, any of the options are delicious. My favorite is the brisket. Prices are great too, $8 for the combo with brisket (includes two tacos, corn on the cob, black beans, and rice). And major props for impressing the southerner with the corn on the cob! Not easy to do! It's covered in garlic and Parmesan cheese. Wow! And I could have eaten 3 or 4 of them! And it's even better than service is warm and friendly in a spot full of dive spots.

  • Julio M.

I should have read Miguel R's review so I would not have been duped by these burrito peddling bandits. They billed me $32 for two glasses of sangria. The bill indicated it was the 32 ounce size when what they gave me was a Solo cup (16-18 ounces) and half the cup was filled with chunks of pineapple and ice. I figure there was 8-9 ounces of sangria in it! I can understand getting held up by some rascally Mexican desperadoes in Ciudad Juarez, but on the Hollywood Boardwalk?! Too bad they have to resort to thievery because their tacos are really quite good.

  • Manny G.

Great place for tacos and some beverages. Service is a little slow but it's relaxed atmosphere food is very good. Tacos are especially very good along with the corn on the cob. Korean Short rib taco is a little spicy and the baja fish taco is a little bit overly breaded but still it's good since they use cabbage on their tacos which makes them tastier. Lots of beer choices and not overly priced. Great place to hang out at hollywood beach.

    (4)
  • Lauren C.

If you're on the broadwalk and want a laid-back beach spot, you won't be disappointed. It's nothing fancy, but I'm telling you the tacos are delicious! I tried the mahi ones which were good, but the carnitas were the best. They also have huge tropical drinks served in a whole pineapple or coconut which are perfect for a day in the sun.

This place is awesome. My wife have been in the area for four days and have eaten here four times. The price is awesome, the drinks are great, and the food really is delicious. In addition, they can handle patrons with gluten restrictions without missing a beat. We love this place! The owner (Stuart) is awesome and spends a significant amount of time helping staff and hanging out with patrons. I recommend the steak or Korean short rib tacos, but you really can't go wrong. We can't wait to come back!

  • Michael D.

Loved the tacos. Had the 2 taco combo....1 chicken....1 carnitas. EXCELLENT. Not to mention the corn was amazing....view excellent. But the star of the shows were the various homemade hot sauces.....I was talking with the owner....asked him a few questions...he obvioulsy knew I was special so he brought out his personal stash from a fridge by the bar....OH BOY! Go...eat tacos....drink a couple...enjoy the view...chat up the very nice owner.

Perfect portion of food with flavor popping in ever corner of one's mouth. The carnitas tacos are everything and the cilantro cream sauce and Parmesan seasoned corn is worth the trip alone. Also, ocean side view is not bad at all.

The frozen drinks were soooo good! I got the Miami Vice inside the pineapple and it was delish. The nachos were good. The tacos were ok. The Taco Bar down the street is better.

The fried fish were little golden nuggets of deliciousness. It's right on the beach and the prices were decent for such a prime location. Plus they were generous with the homemade sauces on the side. I wish I had more time to spend on this beach so I could return here!

  • Amanda T.

The beach, food, and tropical drinks this place had my name all over it. I love that this place is right on the boardwalk and that almost every seat has a view of the ocean. I had the chicken quesadilla which was very good and not one but two corn on the cobs.. yes, I know fat girl problems. I ordered the pina colada which was served in an actual pineapple and was delicious but it was definitely one of those drinks that's all fruity and nice looking until you add the extra shot and it ends up coming back with a vengeance to kick your ass. All in all this is a nice little beach spot to enjoy a quick lunch. Will be back whenever I decide to go to Hollywood beach again.

My parents and I tried this place for the first time on a friday night after seeing my co-workers IG post. It was fairly packed, after waiting to be seated it took our waitress about 15 mins to greet us so We ordered everything at once. I must say that although we waited long to be greeted and our meal was a bit on the cool side, I would give this place another chance. The combo tacos (chicken) were very good and the corn on the cob was like nothing I've ever had. With a smaller crowd and warmer food I would've stayed to enjoy the pins colada in the coconut but at the time it was too crowded and cool out to enjoy. Looking forward to my next visit.

Awesome nice little Tiki shack! Winner! Right on the beach & boardwalk. Sit outside and watch the surf and all sorts of different walks of life go by, walking, jogging, biking, strutting, showing off, all those things you'd expect to see when you're on the beach. So yes great location! Food is great in comparison to most South Florida Mexican joints which are mostly disappointing. This placed impressed my taste buds! Much closer to the Mexi-food in Cali & Texas which is legendary! Come in wet off the beach or casual, bring a group, kids, or just yourself. Live sports on the walls and ice cold cervesas all add to the local sabor of this locale! They make some delicious tacos, burritos and the grilled corn is a must try! Korean taco (cool idea) was great, never had it before but I have again. I've been here a few times and even stopped in for takeout. I've always walked or waddled out of here happy and satisfied!

Disappointing, fail, opposite of good, are all words that do not exist at The Taco Spot. While in Miami for a wedding weekend, I came across this gem with my girlfriend. It sits right on the boardwalk or promenade? I'm not exactly sure what you call it when the walk way isn't actually covered with boards. Anyway, you have a fabulous view of the ocean which is usually enough for a good review, in my book. But alas, I had the best fish taco of my life here. This fish taco was the Braveheart (Braveheart is my favorite movie) of fish tacos. Amazing from beginning to end. This place was so good that we went back a second time during our 3 day get away. The service was incredibly friendly. I felt like I was best friends with the owner. He talked to us like he taught me how to ride a bike when I was younger. Our bond was deep. From drinks to food, this place earns it's name. It definitely is THE SPOT!

  • Julie D.

We stopped here for lunch after the beach. The salsa was great but the guacamole had little flavor. I ordered a drink that tasted funky and they took it away, free of charge which was super nice. The tacos were very flavorful and authentic. Would recommend this joint to others!!

Can't review the food because we got up and left. THE SERVICE IS IN THIS PLACE IS GARBAGE. The menu sucks so it wasn't worth the 20-minute wait at our table for someone to not even bring us water. You're better off walking down the boardwalk an extra 10 minutes to Mamacita's. Way more menu options and AWESOME service.

Great service. Great food. My husband and I ordered 4 different tacos since we couldn't make up our minds and wanted to sample so many. All were delicious. My favorite was the Korean short rib taco and my husband's favorite was the Baja fish taco. We both loved the chips and salsa and their house hot sauces too. We sat on the patio and enjoyed people watching. The service was great as well. Nothing negative to say.

  • Capri E.

The good was so fresh and enticing! The drinks were a little expensive but otherwise fair prices for quality of food. I got the Baja fish tacos which were jam packed with flavors! The combo had the house special roasted corn of the cob (equally delish) and rice/beans. My hubs got the grilled chicken quesadilla and asked a side of queso. It was packed with onions, tomatoes, and other goodness. Location is right on beach and extremely casual. Staff was awesome and very attentive! Overreached expectations!

The Taco Spot is our favorite place to have lunch when we go to Hollywood Beach. The service is always great and all the servers help each other out. Today my boyfriend & I ate the carnitas burrito and the steak burrito. Both excellent. The ingredients all tasted fresh. The black beans inside the burritos are one of my all time favorites. It makes the burrito juicer than what it already is. The chips and salsa are also great. The chips aren't just regular nachos they're seasoned making them oh so tasty. I can't wait until we come back next week!

I've been here a few times and have been pleasantly surprised at the food and the service. I'm not a fan of beach, or should i say boardwalk restaurants, because they are normally fast food restaurants that fry everything, pizza joints, or bars with bar food note: see fast food restaurants that fry everything :-). This place is excellent. They have some of the best tacos I have ever eaten anywhere. If you like spicy go for their Korean BBQ.....OMG, it's just spicy enough and not overwhelming, but if you want hotter they have their habanero sauce you can pour on them. Today July 6, 2014 my wife and I had the Tilapia, the Steak, and the Korean and although my wife wanted both of the steak tacos; she said they were excellent. My tilapia tacos were awesome; crunchy on the outside (yes they are fried) and flaky on the inside. The Korean BBQ were soo moist and tasty.

Surprisingly this tourist attraction actually has tasty Mexican food! The nachos and tacos were a great portion and tasty. plus the view is great!

We were excited to try a new place with a great view, however, the food was terrible. We ordered the ceviche which was not fresh and served with stale tortilla chips. The seafood had a grayish tint and there were tons of tomato in it. For our entrees, we both ordered the Baja Fish tacos which were semi-decent. They were served with really bland rice and black beans that tasted as though they were just dumped out of the can. It also came with "fire-roasted corn on the cob" that I didn't bother to taste. A very disappointing experience, sadly we won't be back.

We went there on a friday night. Service was good. We had nachos, and mahi mahi taco on a flour shell. Food was delicious. The place is on hollywood beach. Pretty sure will be back fo more . Price us good. Like $15 per person with a beer.

Great Mexican place right on the sand. Super fresh and delicious Mahi fish tacos. The awesome combo came with rice, beans and killer grilled corn on the cob. The gold margaritas were choice stiff. Loved the E nsalada Carnitas ~ screamed my name! Perfect picturesque location with full ocean view, super polite service and very friendly! Loved!

The taco shells were burnt and so were the chips. I had specifically asked for no cabbage on burritos and they gave it to me anyway.

Went here for lunch today and it was soo good! Not only was the service amazing the food and their specialty pineapple cocktail was delicious! Our server Cole was the kind of waiter on want to have all the time :) can't say one bad thing about this place!!! Def will be back!

Atmosphere was very relaxing over looking the beach. Burritos are huge and very tasty. The nachos are sprinkled with the perfect amount of dry rub. Manager was so accommodating, he went out of his busy way to install an outdoor projector so we can watch heat game. I will defiantly return.

Very nice!! I go out all the time. I like casual places but the food and service has to be good. This little place is great! The drinks, the food, the service were all excellent. Like it so much I will plan an afternoon around the place. Go!!! Everything we had was good.

For what it is you can't beat this place. I was down in ft laud for pats game. We went here after for a quick meal. Nachos were good. Everything was fresh. Tacos were excellent. Especially the mahi mahi fish. For the price some of the best I've had. Chill atmosphere and nice having a view of the ocean.

The steak soft shell tacos were superb! Table space is a little small but over all great place to go if you get hungry while walking on the boardwalk and want to eat some good food.

  • Kaylee Z.

Screw this place. Called to see if they were open and they didn't answer their phone the entire night (hours say Mon-Sun)... Walk down the boardwalk to get food, see they are open but not busy so we call again to order delivery - still no answer. People are very confused about their hours and type of service they offer. Just because they have a high rating doesn't mean their communication and service isnt a disappointment. The next day when we went to eat, I avoided Taco Shack like the plague and went right to this delicious Peruvian place called Pachamama which was the freaking bomb. Go there instead, same $$ but way better.

Not too shabby! Everything was great and the view of the beach can't be beat. The service was pretty fast and friendly, and for the location, I thought the prices were fair. My tacos were stuffed and the grilled corn is excellent. Great 'Taco Spot' on the beach. I would definitely come back!

Fun little place. Kinda mexico kissed Florida and slept in Cuba. Weird but good. Being from Los Angeles I know my Mexican food from all regions and this was none of them. But that did not make it bad or the ever so hated Tex-Mex. I enjoyed the food and the very cold beer. Servers were friendly and food came out fast.

  • Kooliette O.

Food was ok. I ordered the chips, salsa, and guacamole and they give you a lot of chips which is always appreciated but the guacamole isn't made fresh. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas and they were not strong but they did taste good. I had the carnitas and ground beef tacos and have no complaints. I appreciated the service - the waiters were very quick and constantly running back and forth. It was great for us because we were starving but not somewhere where I would feel I have to come again.

    (3)
  • Britt K.

The tacos were great, I had the Baja fish, we also had beef and chicken. The combo meal was a ton of food and affordable. Chips were just ok. Great taco sauces though and not too spicy. Fun place to try on the Broadwalk!!

  • JoAnna L.

No, NO, No. Did I miss something? Did I come on an off day? What happened? My husband and I came here on a weekend night. They were busy, but we didn't have to wait to be seated and served. We both had the steak tacos with corn, rice, and beans. The steak was basically inedible. It could not be chewed and had no flavor. The corn, no flavor even with the stuff they put on it. The rice and beans, can you guess??? Yea, no flavor. The margaritas just tasted odd. I'm gonna guess that they're not made with Tequila.... I understand that it's a boardwalk restaurant that doesn't have to try hard, however, I've had better food and drinks at other restaurants in the area. The 2 stars are for service, and well the Ocean....and don't even get me started on the nasty bathroom...

This is by far the best restaurant on the boardwalk. The tacos are to die for and the drinks are refreshing. There's just a few restaurants on the boardwalk that actually have decent food where the food itself becomes the reason to go, not just the view. This place has both. Go for the food stay for the view.

  • C M.

Very fresh and flavorful!! We had the combos (2 tacos, rice, beans, corn on the cob). We got one combo with Korean short ribs and one with mahi-mahi - and split them so we had one of each taco. There are 3 sauces on the table - all were delicious. The corn on the cob is grilled & unique - excellent! The food was fresh. Great flavors! They do have corn tortilla (hard or soft shell) in addition to flour. They have indoor and outside seating. They do have a TV inside and a screen/projector on covered outside area. It is right on the Boardwalk. Great location and wonderful view. Highly recommend this place. We will be back.

3.5 Tasty fresh fair priced tacos right on the beach..That grilled corn might be worth the visit alone The mahi & steak were much tastier than the chicken, shrimp& pork ..green hot sauce was great It's about authentic a Mexican as Oscar De la Hoya is ..really u cant come to a tourist beach area & have authentic foreign cuisine at the top of your list of things to do Decent cheap beers The rice they served was probly the worst ive had at any restaurant..grainy/stale/cold, shit mightve had sand in there too been twice & would return

Six of us had lunch here after a long day of travel which started at 2:30 AM. It was easily the best lunch any of us had all day and a few in our party want to come back again for dinner. My shrimp burrito was excellent and both the chicken and beef tacos got raves. Everything was fresh, light and damned near perfect.

Disappointed. My girlfriend and I are mexican food fanatics, and after reading the reviews of (or from) the taco spot we figured we would give it a try. Though the pictures fed reluctance in her i was sure it had to have something to offer. I was so wrong!!! She was right. First off this is the kind of mexican food that only an out-of-towner would find appealing. You would have to be some low brow spring breaker form some midwest or norther suburb who by 12n is already on their 5 Budweiser and who forgot to take a shower after falling out of the cum laden sheets of their $10 a night back ally hollywood motel. The kind of lazy soul who is just drawn to the idea that great mexican food can and MUST be 5 mints away front the $5 a night motel right off the beach, because "were in florida and there's got to be some real mexicans out here cooking something or some kind of spanish". The restaurants on the boardwalk so my guess is the majority of these reviews must come from these kind of classless vacationers. In truth I've had better mexican food in an african safari, and that consisted of an african rolling a pound of maseca into a fresh tortilla just before he placed a few pieces of undercooked yaks testicles and the O'so hot spit sauce on top. If you find the tone of this review to comical I'm merely reflecting the tragic comedy that goes on in yelp when hundreds of people can some how give glowing reviews about a mexican restaurant that is terrible, when just five minutes west of the beach lies a Gem of a mexican restaurant that you may not find one better if you search all of south florida.

Great spot on the boardwalk. We shared the red sangria which was delicious! Food was tasty and inexpensive. Would recommend the taco combos that come with fire roasted corn, black beans and rice. We split a piece of the homemade pineapple cheesecake which was amazing. Stewart the owner came out to introduce himself and ask how our meal was. Will be back here for sure.

Went here on our stay at Hollywood beach around 6 ish the hostess working was not very friendly we stood around awkwardly waiting to be greeted when she finally took the time to talk to us she said it would be a 20 min wait We waited for a table there were 3 groups ahead of us and after being ignored for awhile we gave up and ended up coming back later that night after the dinner rush The food was good and service was okay besides the hostess from earlier in the night would recommend the side of grilled corn

My favorite spot to have grilled fish tacos on the beach! Great homemade pineapple sauce and great view! The menu has a wide selection of good food and unique drinks. Update: MUST TRY THE PORK belly QUESADILLA...! Out of this mouth watering world. LoL

I wouldn't blow $15 on the pineapple piña or the coco loco. Unless your 12 years old and you like drinking sugary slushies inside a pineapple or coconut! Food was ok, somewhat better then most tourist places. It was packed inside and out. We had 4 adults with 2 kids and even though the place was full and overcrowded the wait staff made the best of it. Our waitress was super nice and rushed an order for our kid so we wouldn't have a cranky child! Did not like that the garbage cans were right besides our table. I'm giving this place 3 stars total, if it wasn't for the friendly waitress I would give it a 2!

BEST drink specials on the strip. Don't be fooled by the 'bargains' at other bars. The lower the price, the weaker the drink. TACO SPOT has an awesome special and the Cored pineapple or coconut drinks are tasty, huge, and STRONG! My wife and I come here every year! Try the ceviche! Ask for Darren, he gives great service and will get you hooked up

  • Kyle D.

The food is fairly priced and always fantastic! I highly recommend the carnitas tacos or the Korean short rib tacos (if you like a kick). The nachos are good as well but the most important thing to eat while you're at taco spot is the corn on the cob. The corn on the cob is absolutely delicious... Most of the drinks are kinda touristy which consist of expensive large cups heavy on the mixers. However, the mojitos are pretty good.

Not gonna lie, this place is great! I had the best time here last night eating my dinner infront of the ocean. The place is a typical taco shack, and it has great service and unbeatable prices! I ordered the chicken taco combo which came with a side of rice and beans as well as corn. My boyfriend ordered chicken quesadillas which came with pico de gallo, sour cream, and cilantro cream (delicious!!). Both of our meals were only $8 and they were great portions!! 8 oz beers are only $4 and 8 oz mixed drinks are $8! I orderd my drink inside a pineapple (half strawberry daquiri and half pina colada), you know, I had to go all out since it was Valentines day! Super strong, and really big! Overall, I plan on coming here this summer when the water is nice enough to have beach days! So glad I found my new beach spot!

Yummy!!! The best chips and salsa and guacamole ever! Just yummy!!! The short rib tacos were spicy but delicious. All the special sauces the manager brought out were also great but the pineapple was my favorite.

Since I moved to South Florida two years ago, I've dined on Hollywood Beach many times. Often I leave feeling like the Hollywood broadwalk is a missed opportunity when it comes to a great dining experience. The Taco Spot, recently opened on the beach, has taken advantage of the gorgeous location and hungry stream of locals and tourists with a desirable menu and fun atmosphere. The small menu has plenty to offer, with all kinds of tacos and burritos and delicious drinks. The roasted corn with pesto & parmesan is amazing, and both the baja fish and shrimp tacos contain an impressive amount of seafood with fresh cabbage and pico de gallo. Love the tiki hut, too. With a view of the gorgeous Hollywood beach and great food, the Taco Spot is a win.

This place is a close to perfect as you can get. Fun location with a great vibe playing all kind of Spanish music. The menu is diverse enough to find something for everyone while still being familiar. My favorite are the Korean tacos. Great a la cart or as a combo. My other half got the burrito the other day. Best bite of a burrito I've ever had. Drinks are great too! and the presentation. Get your Instagram face ready. Very busy on the Sunday evening we went but this place is great enough that I would order to go and eat it on a beach chair close enough to it to enjoy the music. Also, spacing isn't to great for accommodating large groups.

Didn't try their cocktails due to the fact I was driving, and other reviews saying they were strong. So I opted for a virgin strawberry daiquiri which was okay. Three options for $3 kids menu: tacos, quesadillas, or meat and rice/beans combo. Mostly outdoor seating with half covered under the thatch roofed patio and other half out on the boardwalk. The Baja fish taco combo platter for $12 was quite good. Yeah I know I can get the same elsewhere for cheaper, but you're on the beach people. Rent's not cheap. There was plenty of battered fish stuffed into the already packed tacos. The fish was seasoned well, and there was a mound of pickled cabbage, verde sauce, cilantro, onions, and tomatoes. Two of these bad boys came with rice and beans in two separate plastic ramekins. To top it off, a full sized roasted corn in the cob slathered in cilantro butter and rolled in some kind of powdery (Parmesan?) cheese. The corn could have been awesome if it weren't for the fact the corn itself was totally bland and a bit chalky. Besides the corn, everything else was gone in a flash.

Korean short rib taco was so flavorful as well as the ground beef taco. The Ceviche as a starter was perfect for an appetizer. Muy Bueno!

I had a great time here the servers are overly nice. This place is a gem! Perfect place for an afterwork hangout spot or to relax. Its right down the beach which is great. The food was good very fresh and the drinks were AWESOMEEE

This place is so good! The chicken burrito and chicken quesadilla are delicious! It's cheap and good food!

I went to this place because the great reviews in yelp, and I am glad I did follow the great reviews. This place is very simple and casual but very friendly staff, the food was delicious and portions are big. You get ocean view, and great spot also for people watching. I am coming back!

You must go, you simply must whenever possible, it is simple ingredients that are now delicious. This place is on the boardwalk, you can sit and watch the ocean, need I say more? PERFECTION!

The taco spot is the place to go eat while at the beach. The tiki hut just composes the place to feel more relaxed, the service is great as soon as you arrive, warm greeting from the host. The food tastes is great as well fast served. Highly recommended for everyone to reserve big party's & enjoy with the family & staff.

Back again after having been here around New Years and having a great experience. My wife and sons love this place as much as I do. The owner is a first class as is his taco joint. Don't miss the pineapple hot sauce. Delicious.

yelpers, y'all did me wrong. this place is barely food.

Better than the last time. Always a sure thing when on Hollywood Beach. The sangria is too strong on the wine base. Service is always great. The managers keep things flowing at a great pace.

Great location and delicious food! We got the mahi and shrimp taco combos. The homemade sauce is delicious and everything was cooked well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the service could be a bit better. Another table got served before us when they sat after us and we had to ask for more water.

A must try.

Loved!

  • Jeffrey A.

Not a huge menu, but the food is really good, reasonably priced & the location can't be beat. On Hollywood Beach - inside, outside, & really outside seating with an ocean view! Outstanding burritos, tacos are good also.

My favorite thing was the location, the yummy habanero sauce, and grilled corn!! Mahi tacos were tasty. Portion and pricing just right for food, I thought bar items were pricy, but that is to be expected with location! Nice wait staff, I would return!

The service was surprisingly amazing. Every waiter was overly friendly and extremely accommodating. Def recommend it to anyone who wants a great food, a great view and wonderful service.

Gem. Ridiculously tasty tacos. Seasoning on the fish, shrimp and korean tofu is off the hook delicious. Sweet staff.

I had the steak tacos. The flavor of the steak was AMAZING. The rice and beans were extremely bland. My daughter who could live on rice and beans didn't take more than 3 bites. Service was ok, our server didn't seem to speak English well. But the tacos were very excellent!

I really liked the ambiance and the food. Too bad I have to fly for 5 hrs if I want to go there again.

Go enjoy.

The very best spot for tacos & burritos in south Florida period. Seven Amazing homemade sauces... Go with the habanero or cilantro which are fantastic. The service is great... All this with a view of the ocean. Stuart you are the best!

I am so glad I found this little culinary gem!

this is a great place to be to feel like you are really on vacation. you are right on the beach, pina coladas are just right and baja fish taco's are AWESOME!!!

Service was solid and food was decent. Can't beat the views for the price of the meal. Korean short rib taco was pretty tasty and the corn was delicious as advertised.

  • Susanne A.

great drinking place, i wanted a shot of vodka with my beer and the bartender told me that i do not want to do that because they use the vodka only for mixing , and its from florida so he would not recommend it as a shot! now thats fair! i took a fancy pineapple drink instead he also recommended that over the coconut drink and it was a great choice! sitting directly on the boardwalk in a dive bar.... i loved it!

Always a go to spot for us when we are at Hollywood beach. Great draft options and love their tropical drink options. We enjoy the ambiance on the beach and great staff!

Love the oceanfront location. Very friendly and efficient servers. Delicious marinated Korean short ribs over organic greens w pico de gallo, cheese, beans made a delicious salad. Combo plate of tacos and tasty grilled corn was great. Piña colada packed a real punch

  • Betty J.

I LOVE this place I've been here a few times and had fish, tempura shrimp and the Korean BBQ tacos. AMAZING! The entire meal is about $12 which isn't bad for the beach location & view but again it's tacos so not that often.

Cheers!

    (5)

Amazing!

  • Jason H.

  • Cecelia C.

    (3)
  • Vanessa S.

My favorite spot to have grilled fish tacos on the beach! Great homemade pineapple sauce and great view! The menu has a wide selection of good food and unique drinks. Update: MUST TRY THE PORK belly QUESADILLA...! Out of this mouth watering world. LoL

    (5)
  • Valeriy G.

    (3)
  • David B.

Try the beef short rib tacos. .awesome ..had a great long island as well...friendly staff and friendly manager/ownet

    (5)
  • Roger C.

    (5)

Very good food and different. Great location and very nice staff. I would Definatly eat here again

  • Laura R.

    (5)
  • Sarah F.

Food was fresh and delicious. Great view of the ocean, excellent service with a smile and some great drink options. Went to a few restaurants in the area while on vacation and this place was one of the few standouts. Bravo from New York!

  • Kellie P.

    (5)

    (1)

I just love this place! The food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the location and service are all stellar. I will make an effort to come here every time I come to Miami.

Not that cheap but still good. They have a pina colada in a pineapple make sure when you order that you ask for the inside of the pineapple as well or they will use It for other various reasons

After visiting half of the United States over 42 years my wife and I found the best taco place around. Drinks were perfect and the food was unsurpassed. This is a must!!

Great beach spot- we really liked the tacos especially the Korean short rib. The beers were cold, the margaritas were very good and the atmosphere across from the beach is difficult to beat. Overall, it was excellent. Additionally, our server was very helpful and took many pictures of our group.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
