My favorite spot to eat lunch while spending the day at the beach in Hollywood! I wouldn't call this a Mexican restaurant as it's not authentic Mexican fare (you won't find tacos al pastor here), it's more like Tex-Mex. Nonetheless, the food is very good and the terrace setting is pretty fun. Did I mention $3 Margarita Mondays? The TBS Taco Plates are pretty awesome: 3 tacos, rice, beans, and a full grilled corn on the cob with cheese. Good deal for the price. The Jalapeño poppers, a new menu item this year, are pretty good too!

Finally made it to this fabulous spot. All outdoors, walking distance to the beach. Parking is rough so be patient. The outdoors is covered and they have couches and plenty of fans to keep you comfy. Towards the back they have a stage where they have live bands. Very chill place with good food. Our server was awesome, she was so helpful and very friendly. Started with a margarita and switched to beer after. Margaritas were way to tart for me. The chips were on the stale side as I'm sure it's because they keep them outside in the humidity. The salsa is very good and our server brought over some hot sauce which was fiery delicious. Oh yes my mouth was on fire. I ordered the chicken quesadilla which was very flavorful and it had a great slightly spicy mayo type sauce drizzled on top. It was very tasty, no complaints. Hubs had the short rib taco and steak taco. Wow everyone is right the short rib taco is incredibly good. I was a wee bit jealous I didn't order it. Sure I have had better food but between the atmosphere, prices, and service I really enjoyed it. Come with a group of friends and you are sure to have a great time. Very fun place. See you again!

Love Love Love This Place!! Great food, awesome atmosphere, comfortable seating. I couldnt have asked for more. Close enough to the beach but not right on it which is perfect for a little getaway from all the sand and heat. I will definitely be going back :)

For a place that has great food the service and atmosphere are horrible. The waiting staff is rude and inattentive. Also, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere if you're planning on going with a large group.

Ok. So someone please pinch me and tell me that I'm not dreaming. A taco shack... Walking distance from the beach... Extremely inexpensive and OMG the flavors!!! (Also... They take paypal!!) I'm kinda at a loss for words on where to begin so I'll just begin with the customer service... The bartender Mike was absolutely a joy to be around. He made my wait time worth it... Have a drink at the bar folks. This place is a keeper. As usual I ordered to go but for the love of baby Jesus I'll be back for date night for sure. Not only do they have an outside atmosphere they had fans everywhere and being that this amazing joint in about 150ft from hollywood beach you get beach winds and the fans for extra comfort. I will be back for the fish tacos and $2 margarita night with a late night stroll on the beach after!! Love this place!!

Nice atmosphere. Came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I ordered a diet Coke. Never received it, apparently the machine was broken. I ordered a margarita instead. Chips were blah but the guacamole was awesome. For lunch I had steak tacos on corn tortilla and my date ordered a steak quesadilla. The better meal was definitely the quesadilla. The MoST enjoyable amazing part of my meal was the corn. Sooo Good. I would return just for drinks and corn.

It was 12 am and we were craving tacos...nuff said. Came here on a Wednesday night with my girlfriend after reading the good reviews, ordered the grilled chicken tacos. Our food came out pretty quickly. Our tacos were decent, nothing special. What's good about this place is the deals they have on food and drinks, don't remember the price but super cheap. Wednesday's they have taco combo deals. Also had a lounge area in the back and beer pong tables. Nice hangout spot. Would come back again if I'm in the area.

Great service, amazing food and some of the best margaritas. If you go after 10pm they have $2 margaritas!

I've been here numerous times and their outstanding food is always overshadowed by their mediocre at best service. I keep coming back because I can't ever pass up their carnitas tacos. Hard shells fried to order. Soooo good. The cilantro cream sauce and the yellow hot sauce. These are things I dream of. Let me break the rest down simply Good- tacos: carnitas, shrimp with mango salsa, short rib, brisket, and corn on the cob. The jalapeño poppers are money. Bad- the pizzas are fine but don't waste your time on it. Get tacos, burrito, quesadilla... Anything else Ugly- the margaritas. Had three pitchers and not one person had a buzz. Pretty sure it's straight Lemon lime Gatorade at $30 a pitcher. I love this place but Stay away from the marg pitchers. it's a total rip off.

I order from here regularly. Usually the taco combo which comes with tacos rice beans and a grilled corn. I'm a Chatty Cathy so upon waiting for my food I was told the owner used to be Dwayne Wades chef. The food is exquisite. I usually get hard chicken tacos which come with chopped cabbage and tomato toppings. I'm obsessed with their corn... They seem to grill then season with Parmesan cheese. The wait isn't long, I suppose because I normally wait while sipping their homemade sangria. It's a bit pricier than your average tacos but I believe it's worth it. Heads up to their amazing sauces as well. I fight my boyfriend over the yellow one it's spicy but oh so amazing. He usually orders the burrito which is big enough to share. Only negative... Parking! It's right by the ocean and it's busy for lunch can't imagine how bad it gets later in the day.

Food is great, but the service was horrible, I went there with a group of 4 and it took them 20 minutes to get us our sodas, and even messed up one by getting a club soda instead of a sprite. For people thinking of going here, if you get Angel, ask for a different server because that's who we had. Everything other than that was awesome. A great place for a group.

My bf and I went on Saturday for the first time. Not only was this one of the best meals we've ever had, but also some of the best service as well. It was pouring rain, and our server Steven still went above and beyond to serve us. We started off with the short rib nachos. OH MY AMAZING!!!! Next time, were asking for double meat! Seriously, the best nachos ever!!! Nothing compares to them! We also had a brisket taco, crispy calamari, baja mahi mahi, and a steak taco. We shared everything. All amazing!! Their meat there is sooo tasty! Even the drinks were great. Deff recommend the red sangria. Hands down best place!!!!

Always make it a priority to stop here when in town! Tacos are awesome my favorites are the brisket and the Korean BBQ. Great laid back vibe and prices are reasonable.

The atmosphere was so much fun. The live music was great for a rowdy, big, group. The couches were fun but eating your huge meal on a small coffee table was not ideal. The guacamole was good and they gave great spicy sauces on the side with your meals. The fish tacos were alright but they were better with the sauce. They also offered great quesadilla's that were probably the best thing to order while lounging on your couch. It's only outside seating and they have a fun play place and ping pong for kids.

Location OK - a block from the beach, view of a main road and annoying reggae music (at a Mexican restaurant in FL? Why?) We had several different taco's which were OK but no better than that. Not tasty or spicy. The chips and salsa (extra) were bland and disappointing. Guacamole (extra) was OK I was kinda concerned watching the food being prepared - raw fish was being cut less than a centimeter from the cilantro that was added to everyone's tacos (mine included). OK but wouldn't come again

This place has such a cool vibe and atmosphere...when I walked in there was a group of Brazilian capoeira performers doing their thing to some great music. Fun! :) After that show ended, the restaurant turned their music back on, and the beachy vibe returned. Everyone says it, but it bears repeating: get the Korean beef short rib anything. I had the tacos, and with the kimchi cole slaw on top, they are out of this world. The corn on the cob is another unique-yet-delicious addition to the meal, and I also thought their black beans were pretty tasty. Our server (I think Joe? Bald, muscular guy) was friendly and incredibly enthusiastic about the food and the drinks. He made some great recommendations that my dining partner followed, and they turned out to be good suggestions. The only reason for -1 star is my somewhat watered down gin & tonic, and the single bathroom, shared by both men/women. Other than that, strongly recommend. WORTH NOTING: Don't park in the parking lot just north of the restaurant. Despite there being virtually no signage, and certainly no one manning the lot or any semblance of a valet, this is evidently not an okay place to park. I was towed. :(

Mahi mahi fish tacos combo was a huge portion for $13.99 but were a little overcooked. Area was nice but music was unnecessarily loud for lunch time.

Chips and salsa are way over priced. They barley give you any salsa or guacamole and charge you for extra. Service was so so slow, drinks were mediocre. They have some good specials during the week but that's about it. The server never checked back to see if we needed any water or anything. 30 min for 4 tacos???? There is no one here. The entire staff looks high. The couple who sat down after us already has their food. Really disappointed.

Ok Taco Beach Shack tacos are $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. $ 30 Wow 4 tacos a beer and a side of guacomole that came in a tiny side salad dressing container for $2.50. I got a fish taco that was small I ate it in two bites was $5.50. The chicken was cubed and dry and $3.95. The tacos are pricey and the ingredients are not that fresh. Cheese was prepacked shredded kraft cheese. Not sure I would ever return ! Plus ++++ ping pong tables in the sand live music laid back cool atmosphere taco Tuesday $1 Tacos

Ok so I already knew this place was good due to my sisters, a local, recommendation but I was shocked at the quality freshness and tastiness of the food! We shared the mushroom Nachos which were very good but I would've preferred real cheese to cheese wiz but I ate my fill regardless. We had the calamari appetizer and I must say I am extremely picky with calamari and this was just right crispy without being overly breaded and the right amount of seasoning in the breading. Lastly we had the shrimp burrito and omg the best I've ever had the tortilla was crisped the shrimp was fried and breaded and the cilantro and mango salsa was the perfect addition. Make sure to look for the bartender mike A he is awesome and very attentive.

This is a fun, unique spot on Hollywood Beach (right off of A1A past the Hollywood Blvd. exit). It is open air, with nice outdoor furniture and umbrellas, cabanas, a 'floor' made from compacted sand, and a stage for live music. There are even ping pong tables along with lots of comfortable couches and tables for groups. The food is DELISHOUS! The brisket, Korean short rib, and shrimp tacos are amazing. The grilled corn on the cob is a must. The jalapeño popper appetizer is unreal. The drinks are good and strong, and after 10PM the prices of both drinks and food drop (they are open until 1 AM weekdays). The service was prompt and friendly throughout the night. The vibe here is chill but fun. A great place to come for excellent food and margaritas! Lots of room for groups. A very cool concept that works well. I have been coming here since they opened, and I always have a great time! Check it out!

This place is continually more frustrating than the last time we attempted to get dinner from here. We have attempted to order take out from them; however, the phone is hardly ever answered. The one time in four attempts that the phone was answered, the order ended up being completely wrong. On our second attempt, we became frustrated and sent someone over to order at the bar. The third and fourth attempts were terminated and we ate elsewhere. The food is quite tasty and worth seeking out. The bartender's attitude is marginal on a good night. The people who answer the phone are testy and aggravated that they were interrupted with whatever it was they were doing when we called. Also, the folks on the phone continually tell us that they do not have a short rib quesadilla even though we have ordered it while sitting at the restaurant. One time we were told that the cook did not feel like making it. I give this place two stars because the food may well be worth enduring the wait and attitude. Otherwise, they would get a single star because no food should have to be such an endurance test. All of our attempts to get food from here were in the last three months.

This is an amazing restaurant. They really know their craft. The nachos were huge and amazing. The Mahi Mahi tacos were huge with tons of Mahi. Tge prices were very reasonable as well

Definitely a laid back place to eat, good spot to hit after spending the day on the beach. They offer frozen drinks along with shots. On Tuesdays they have two for one tacos... a good deal and filling. They offer covered outside seating which gives you a very relaxing beach feel. The service is low keyed and friendly... The food is ok, not great nor not bad.

Five or more tables open and the hostess refused to seat our party supposedly on order of the manager. Said they were at capacity. Kitchen was too full. Asked to wait for 10-15 minutes which is no problem... But to tell us we can't be seated, we can't order drinks and that it's better if we don't sit because we would probably complain is pure arrogance and stupidity. I don't understand how a restaurant would have such a nasty hostess turn away local, repeat customers... customers who WERE advocates for your business, talking it up to friends.... regularly dining there with groups... NO MORE! The corporate group that owns this company should send in secret shoppers on "busy" days (days with 5 open tables for example) and see what nasty people they have greeting customers.

Sand on the floor, a decent selection of beer and liquor, great Baja style fish tacos and the best corn on the cob in the state! There are comfortable, shaded couches in sections, table tennis, kids' play area and live sports projected on an outdoor screen. Based on five visits, the service can be great, but can also be fairly bad. It's worth the trip if the weather is good and you are nearby.

I would love to give a 5 star review because the food was great (as always) and the service was phenomenal (usually always terrible). But still, I can't because of what happened when we requested our bill to be separated. By the way our Server was Noah, this isn't his real name I think it is something like Nomar but his nickname is Noah. Today (Superbowl Sunday) was his 1st or 3rd day on the job. Anyways, back to why they lost 3 stars. Cassie, Cassie is why they lost 3 stars. After we asked to have our check separated she read him the riot act in the dining area for all customers to watch and hear and right next to our table. She explained to him that that is "bad behavior" and isn't tolerated. They "will accept multiple forms of payment but do not separate checks." After she noticed our disgust she approached me, I informed her of how awkward the situation was for us and that she should have shown the employee some respect and inform him of company policy privately. I got a " whatever". I can only assume she was a supervisor of some sort and a very poor one at that. Is this disrespect for employees and customers something Taco Beach Shack supports? Really disappointing.

The standard tacos were good here (carnitas, beef, chicken). The Thai was just okay. The smoked brisket had a sweet sauce that covered the delicious taste of smoking brisket. The mahi taco was lacking in the mahi department. We ordered top shelf margaritas and they were sugary sweet and tasted if they didn't have booze in them. I'd stick to beer if you go here. Guacamole just okay. The plus was the music, they had a good live band!

  • Claudia L.

Excellent place, very relaxed atmosphere. You may think it's just a bar with a big screen and games for the ones that don't like to watch football but is not. Best tacos in FL! And the cheesecake burrito it's just amazing . Great customer service

  • Ian O.

The food was excellent. The service, not so much. I would have given it a five but like I said the service was just not good. The waitress forgot to put in our order twice. So it took longer to get our food. We didn't get any compensation for the screw up either, no drinks, nothing. I will still go back again. I'll give them a second chance.

The ambiance here is awesome....although I don't really remember much of my experience here I loved the outdoor seating, fire pit at night, large projection screen, and the great food & drinks. From what I remember the service was super quick and the server came back frequently to make sure we were all good on our drinks. Taco Beach Shack, please put more napkins on the table so I don't have to bug the server!

I was looking for a place to meet up with a couple of friends for dinner and drinks on Hollywood Beach on a Thursday night at 7 pm. Originally I wanted to go to the Taco Spot which is actually on the broadwalk, but it was raining and the Taco Beach Shack has a lot more covered seating. The atmosphere of this establishment cannot be beat. It is all outdoors and there are many different places to sit, the bar, tables on cement, tables on beach sand, couches and low tables on beach sand. Very tropical and beachy which I love. Most of the tables had large umbrellas so it was just fine during the rain. It was actually quite breezy and there are many powerful fans around the property so I asked our server to turn the one pointed right at our table off which she quickly did. There are metered spaces right in front of the restaurant and since it was a rainy night there were a few available. Our server was Joi. She was friendly and did a good job, but I do think that she could have had a bit more pizazz. With a cool establishment like this, and with the giant Margaritaville opening next year, these little beach restaurants need to step up their game. I would call our service adequate, if that is what the manager is going for, that is what he got. She didn't seem especially happy to be there, just seemed like someone trying to collect a paycheck. My friend asked Joi if there were any drink specials that night. She said no, and he was quite shocked at that so she then said she would go check. She came back and told him that they had Bud Light's for $1.00. This is something that she should have looked into the moment she started her shift. (I later read this information on the napkin holder right in front of me on the table, so certainly she should have known about it). My friends both ordered the chicken burrito which was absolutely huge, probably about 9 inches long. They were very pleased with them. I ordered the chicken taco combo (soft tacos) which came with a small serving of black beans and rice, and a roasted corn on the cob. The chicken tacos were just ok. The black beans and rice was ok, and the corn was delicious. I also had a frozen margarita which was ok. I am glad that they offer a combo, I think the portions of the food were good for the price, but I feel that they need to do some work on the taste of the tacos, perhaps it's time to hire a new chef? Overall, the atmosphere here is beautiful, great place for a date, and taste of the food was just ok, and the service was adequate. This place has a lot of potential, hopefully management is reading this!!

Absolutely love this place. Very beachy, casual and fun. The Cinco de Mayo party was awesome. They had live music, giving out toys, and tequila shots! My boyfriend, sister, a friend and I had a blast. Kudos to the management team -- John and Pam! P.S. Grilled Mahi taco 5*****

The fact that I can't give this place - 5 stars is troublesome, I've tried, I really tried to like this place. I wanted to believe it was an isolated incident the first time, second time I even went so far as to think it was weather related even though it was just cloudy, but the third time, oh the third time will go down in history for all 10 of us as being the worst restaurant experience of our lives and half the people with me where servers! I swear on everything that is holy and everything that is unholy it literally took 2 hours to get 9 tacos! why did we stay you ask? because it was someone's birthday and at that point I wanted to see just how long it was going to take to get the food. We got there at 7:30pm I put an order in with the manager because he told me 10 people was too overwhelming for the kitchen. I thought by doing this it would help them out and speed the process up, instead it literally was passed through the servers. I sat there feeling like I had sabotaged the order by doing this until one friend started telling me in more detail about her recent bad experience there. I had convinced her I wouldn't allow anything bad to happen earlier when she voiced a strong dislike about the place but much like losing your child in the ball pit at McDonalds I was helpless to stop the forces at work! In all seriousness I've never been so confused on how the rules of the restaurant game didn't exist here. We tried everything nice, bitchy, horrified, perplexed then we just begged and pleaded to just give us some nachos, which actually did work, three sets of nachos appeared, followed by 4 tacos, then 10 mins later another 5 tacos... we ordered 15 but 9 would have to do. They did take off the drinks and the bill was reduced so thank you for that, but I would have been fine with the full bill and the full order. Sorry Taco Beach but we are done. Not happy about the 1 star!

I absolutely LOVE this place!!! Fresh, authentic food with awesome service... And they are doggy friendly:))) Prices are really great as well!

Nice spot but bartender on Sunday more concerned with golf than making drinks. Manager was nice and fixed that problem. The music is not really beach music. More like rave on the beach in a family restaurants

Great tacos! Sloooow service! Expect to be ignored and thirsty for a few minutes here...the brisket tacos are on fire! If you get bored waiting for service you can play a game of ping pong or throw nickels at all the cars driving past looking for parking.

Horrible experience. I went with my husband and the guy at the front with a pony tail told us there was a long wait. We sat down to wait and he told us again the wait was long and it was an hour wait. We looked around and there weren't many tables taken so we decided to wait. Two groups of people were walking out angry telling them the service was terrible. But we heard this place was good so decided to wait longer. After about 20 minutes of waiting the guy comes up to us and tells us that they were "really overwhelmed" and they will be closing the kitchen. It was 10:40pm. Horribly managed and don't think I will ever go there again. I will now read reviews before going to any new restaurant.

Feels like most of the winter tourist crowd is gone, so it is safe to return to the beach. Taco Beach Shack is not quite on the beach, but it is close enough. The atmosphere is laid back. Monday night is $3 margarita night. The drink did not feel like it was weaker just because it was a special. Big points for that. We had the calamari appetizer, the steak and shrimp fajitas, korean short rib taco and brisket taco. All delicious. The waitress was a little flakey but pleasant and the hostesses were attentive to make up for the casual service. And the live music was a bonus. Not too loud, good selection of songs and good musician. I have to recommend Taco Beach Shack if you want good food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Give the Taco Beach Shack food 2.5 stars on the tacos for Thirsty Thursday. I had 2 carnitas, 1 pork & 1 mahi. Service ok. Price ok.

You would think that trying out a new waiter would result in a messed up order.. And it did, until our waiter Andrew politely confessed his mistake, and fetched his manager Mike to save the day. My friend and I waited until 10pm to order the 3 tacos for $3 special, and since Andrew was new to the job, he didn't know that special existed. The server brought out two full plates of their combo (3 full size tacos, rice and beans, roasted corn) when in actuality we had only ordered the 3 mini tacos. Mike said that we could keep the food they brought out, and that he would still honor the $3 deal. Good food, good beer, good service, good prices. Almost never disappoints!

Where do we start?? Wednesday night the day before Thanksgiving... It's beautiful outside so we decided to stop at the Taco Bar since its an outdoor place. The music was nice a little loud but otherwise pretty cool. When the food arrived it became clear why Wednesday specials are in place. It seemed as though the pork and beef taco's were both made with sour (spoiled) meat. The brisket was a very big disappointment the meat was ice cold and very hard to believe it had been smoked at all but definitely not 12 hours. And the corn.. Every one at the table got old sour corn that should have been thrown out last week. On the beach you expect a very fresh product if nothing else and this was the exact opposite, every plate on the table contained at least one spoiled ingredient. I will say the location is great I just hope the quality of the product is addressed. Probably won't be back.

Welcome to Jeopardy! I'll take Great Ideas for $300. Answer: This is the most exciting hybrid of east meets southwest since Shanghai Noon. Question: What are Tacos and Karaoke? The ambiance was casual and welcoming and you may experience a rare sighting of the endangered Live Music, which has been driven to near extinction in South Florida due to the overpopulation of crappy DJs. Seriously, YOU CAN'T SHORTCUT NACHOS. Stale chips and liquid cheese, really? I was so disappointed in the food. Might come back for a drink and to hear a drunken rendition of Don't Stop Believing. But that's about it.

Luckily, I was with some cool friends so it helped to overlook at horrible it was. The amount of food you get vs what they charge is ridiculous. I'm not a fat dude, but I left hungry. The waitress was "busy" in the corner talking to other waitresses just hanging out whenever we needed something and didn't seem too happy to be there. She seemed annoyed at us asking about specials and she had to go find out what specials, if any, they were offering. The single bathroom for both guys and girls is def not enough. I had to wait awhile before I could go in and wash my hands. I'm a guy, but feel bad for women who might have to go in after a guy who missed his mark. Another night I went by to get a margarita on my way to the beach and the waiter said to order from the "bartender" at the window. He was nowhere to be found, I asked another waiter and he said to wait for him to return. Well, he was in there the whole time, sitting down watching the Monday Night Football game, I just didn't see him because he was sitting there quietly.

Basically you are paying for the atmosphere because the food isn't that great. I had the chicken tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were decent but beans and rice were bad. The rice seemed old and barely soft. I had a good time meeting new people in the Tiki type area! The drinks are cheap so of course barely any liquor.

Love this place. The service and food is on point. Live music, plenty of drinks to choose from. Not too loud. It's an outside beach hut. Great street tacos.

This is a friendly beach taco shack. Don't expect suits or ties here. Laid back very casual ambiance. Best $5 dollar Baja fish tacos money can buy. Worth the bucks per bite. Reggae and sports channels through out. Fast lunchtime service if you want to get out of the office and feel like you're on a mini vacation they even make virgin daiquiris and piña coladas. So go ahead and get out of the rat race slow down and come on down to the Taco Beach Shack. You'll be glad you did and you'll go back to work a little happier. I promise.

Loved the tacos. Great flavor combos. However, the corn came highly recommended, and it was very disappointing. Especially since I was eating corn in the height of corn season. So beware.

Great food! Lots of vegetarian options- mushroom tacos, amazing guacamole and toppings. Great jalapeño poppers too! All server we have had so far have been nice and attentive. They have live music and a great outdoor seating spot with sand and all. Attached to an awesome hostel and hotel!

If I could give this place 3.5 stars I probably would but in this case I rounded up to a 4 instead of a 3. I went to the Taco Beach Shack this past Tuesday night with a few friends for the 2 4 1 tacos which included the carnitas, chicken, beef, and mushroom (not the mahi or short rib). In any case we arrived and it was very crowded (they told us it would be about 45 mins for food.). Also we had to park at the metered spots in front and pay $3 for parking. There seemed to be alot of metered parking so that was not a problem. The ambience was very nice. The restaurant is outside with pic nic tables, lounge type seats, and they have a couple ping pong tables as well as a tent with some more lounge seats in there. In addition, they had a live band playing music. Overall the ambience and scene was a 5. The service was a little slow but with how busy they were and the 45 minute warning they were pretty good. As far as the food the best thing we ordered was the short rib nachos. If I ever go back I will definitely only order the short rib tacos as that is by far the best meat they offer. We also got a few chicken, carnitas, and mahi tacos. Overall the tacos were very average and I would never buy them unless it was 2 4 1 as they were $3.75 each. If your looking for a cool place to hang out and grab some drinks and tacos this is your spot but do not look for 5 star food or service!

I don't know if they are understaffed or what, our server only check on us when it was time to collect the bill.the food was alright . honestly I don't believe I'll come back simply because of the service.

Went to the Beach Shack this Friday night late night... as per usual the drinks were on point , had a waiter named STEVE who was very accommodating after he just had a table that skipped out on bill, he still served us with a smile and great service..the food was amazing. and as always I was pleased see everyone this sunday night

I'm sorry if I have misguided you but I went tonight and the sangrias were a disappointment since it was so high for me Average but not as I mentioned before idk maybe new bartender but it tasted washed out and barely any fruits or wine mostly like oxygenated water Food is still A1A

Can't get enough of this place. Came on Friday then brought our friends again on Tuesday. Between, the live music, amazing $2 margheritas ( after 10), delicious veggie quesadilla, and Alissa's service, you can't go wrong. This place is definately worth a shot.

I'm shocked every time I ride by this place that it's still in business. Worst run business I've ever experienced... and I've seen some bad ones. There must be some corporate deep pockets somewhere just hanging onto the property. There lack of management skills and diplomacy should have 5 stars.

    (1)
  • Shaun Y.

The Korean Short Rib & Kimchi Slaw tacos were probably the best I've ever had! And that's a bold statement considering that I have lived in Southern California. Nick from corporate came out and greeted us there to make sure we were being taken care of and to make us feel right at home. Absolutely one of my favorite spots now to eat.

So if I had to review this place solely on food it would get 4-5 stars but being that I am a server myself service means a lot to me. The service here is horrible, The servers take forever to bring you things and If they come by one time to check on you that is a lot. The food is great but it takes way too long to come out and chances are it came out wrong or they forgot to ring in somebodies food. Another problem was we were a party of 6 one couple wanted to be on a separate check but they said we could not do that. but that she could run 2 credit cards and we can tell her how much for each transaction. Never really heard of that and I've been a server for a long time. and last but certainly not least my credit card was charged 3 times and the other person at my table her card was charged twice. I have called numerous times and left messages, I also sent an email to get this resolved but I have yet to hear from anyone in management at all. If you decide to go an eat there keep you customer service expectations low, but your food will be yummy oh and pay cash. Fish tacos and that corn on the cob are delicious....good luck

This place is like a fine wine. It just gets better with age. I love everything about it: the food is delicious, the menu is easy on the wallet, its located a short walk from the beach, & great seating options: regular tables or grab a seat at their lux patio furniture in a sandy area with huge umbrella shades.......you can't ask for more! I highly recommend taco Tuesday, the grilled corn, and the drinks! Portions are very generous and the staff are friendly. Don't know what to choose? Just ask Jesse! *** so sorry if I wrote your name wrong here. He doesn't just throw out personal suggestions, but rather gets a feel for your taste buds and recommends something to please them. Did I mention that he he makes exceptional drinks too! I've been here many times before and will keep singing their praise and introducing my peps to this amazing spot!

I had the Korean short ribs and kimchi tacos. Delicious! My husband and I shared a pitcher of margaritas. Thankfully we were walking because they were tasty and potent. There was live music, which was good, but it was quite loud. The music plus street noise made it difficult to talk. Overall it was a nice place.

  • Sam P.

I have eaten here 4 times in the past two months. 3 of those times we had great service, and once we had horrible service. The food is always amazing with the freshest ingredients! The baja fish tacos are SO yummy, as are the salads, and the Korean short rib burrito is one of the best things I have ever tasted! Taco Tuesdays are a great way to dine here on a budget (2-for-1 tacos). As for the drinks--the red sangria is really great! The beer selection is OK, and a bit over-priced, IMO. The atmosphere at TBS is pretty chill, with tables and lounge areas outside. They also have a ping pong table, and they usually have live music which is a lot of fun. I highly recommend bringing friends here when you are hanging at the nearby beach!

  • Eric T.

Absolutely terrible service. Good lord. Jazmin seemed almost pissed off that we were eating at the restaurant. "Frozen drink machine is broke, what else do you want?" "We don't have that dressing tonight, what else do you want?" Oh, you need an extra thimble of dressing for your salad? That'll be an extra buck on your bill, but you won't know until you get the check. I understand being 16 and hating your life because you have to work at a restaurant, believe me. I was there once. But at least TRY to fake it for the customer. Oh, you probably want to hear about the food. Uh, yeah not worth it. Fajitas were standard phony fajitas, and the calamari in the calamari salad was like chewing on a car tire. Bon appetite!

Love this place!!! Outdoor sofa seating with live music! Sangria & Steak Quesadilla... OUT OF THIS WORLD! Only downfall is metered parking...bring $5 worth of Quarters. Will DEF be back here again this week!

Taco Tuesday is only for the three cheapest tacos $3.75 which is a little disappointing I got the mushroom tacos which were well filled but would wish for a better ratio of mushrooms to cabbage filling. Mango hot sauce very tasty. Service prompt A little pricey for a Taco Joint

For a most delicious and abundant dining experience, visit Taco Beach Shack in Hollywood, Florida. Our server, Mike C., made the experience most worthwhile. He was most professional and explained the menu to us so as we were able to make the most delicious choices. The menu is extensive and the beverage menu is a true delight. The festive vibe only adds to the great menu and most attentive staff, especially Mike C. The Taco Beach Shack has multiple seating areas, outside and also under a huge canopy as well. There is also a huge lounging area filled with comfy sofas. The ping-pong table adds to the fun, festive environment too. Beachy atmosphere, easy, casual dress and beautiful water view only add to the experience. We enjoyed a carnitas burrito and guacamole/chips dish. The burrito was large enough for three people! We added frozen margaritas and pina coladas, sangria and upside down shooters to the mix= perfection! Don't miss a chance to have a great dining experience at Taco Beach Shack. Enjoy!

AWESOME PLACE. Food was great, place is clean inviting but truly our server Dianna made a difference she really went out of her way to make us feel welcomed. Never lost a beat she is priceless I would ask for her every time if you want guaranteed great service.

  • Amy J.

Don't be fooled by taco Tuesday!! It's not all tacos and you must order 2 of the same tacos- you can't even change the taco shell. That's just lazy!! El camino in Delray is QUALITY and they don't have so many rules! The tacos are decent but they are all dressed the same with their cilantro creme sauce so they all start to taste the same. We won't be back.

  • Penny M.

I love this place!! I love the atmosphere and the food is always fresh and tasty. The tacos are really excellent. The ping pong tables and couches are fun too, and so is the live music. A little of everything for all tastes. Sometimes it can get a little crowded and tight, and the service a little slow when it's really busy, but come here with a few friends and you'll have a blast and a good meal anyway. One of my favorite places near the beach, so come here before during or after a splash in the sea!

When you want a taco this is where you go. Great food and lots of smiles from the staff. They brought water for my dog without having to ask which was very nice. Everything taste like it was made from scratch. The huge selection of tequilas is awesome and they have a full bar. Great party vibes and outdoor relaxing atmosphere.

Horrible on soooo many levels. Poor service (probably the worst), cold food (raw tortillas after waiting 2 hours for it) and all around just crappy everything. Then I hear afterwards that it's a halfway house which explains the poor grooming of the kitchen staff. This was my second horrific experience and this place should be shut down. Dirty. Gross. SHIT!

Wow wow wow... I can't believe I only found this place last week!! I live convinced that there are a million cool places around me, I just don't know that they exist. Taco Beach Shack is proof of that. Right off of AIA (across the street from Taverna Opa), this place had somehow escaped my radar. We headed out on a Friday night, and I didn't really know what to expect. I was in the mood for hanging, chatting, live music, good food and good beers. Taco Beach Shack delivered on all accounts! All the seating is outdoors, and there are plenty of tables, chairs, benches and lounges to be found. They had Yuengling and Longboard on tap (yay!) and after 10pm they had $1 tacos. Before 10 they had an AMAZING bolero trio, seriously, I would come back just for the music alone! We also got their guac and salsa, which was really good, and a FRIED CHEESECAKE BURRITO which was even better than it sounds! They also have a large projector, which was playing Bruce Lee movies while we were there, but I hear tell they play basketball/football games on there usually. I can't wait to go back! As if this doesn't sound amazing enough, all of the staff was awesome too! Seriously, this place makes me rethink some of the other 5 star reviews I've given out. Way to go, Taco Beach Shack!

The taco beach shack is absolutely awesome! My husband and I have been coming here for years and we love it!! The food is very fresh and delicious and the drinks are always flowing! I personally favor the chicken quesadillas because the crema that they put on top is delicious! My husband always gets the tacos and they are so good as well! Service is good and people are so friendly! Love when they have live music also, we can sit all night and enjoy the nice ocean breeze and have some drinks!! Def check them out, you will not be disappointed!!

Busy but promo service. Loved the reggae music playing. Lots of sports games on. Plenty of seating: intimate tables, large groups tables, couches, bench tables. Cozy lighting. Great burrito with delicious sauce and fresh cilantro. Hubby got the tacos and gives them two thumbs up. Margaritas could've been a little stronger but otherwise a good food joint.

I think all I need to say is $1 mini tacos and $2 bud light for happy hour 10-2 am EVERY day. I love the beach chill vibe. I'd def prob won't go here for a full out dinner but their beef and carnitas tacos were very good. Make sure you get the salsa and habenaro cream with them. They can get pretty crazy crowded at night, but it's def worth a stop for late night cheap eats.

I came here on New Years day, and it was a little busy. The waitresses managed pretty well, however the kitchen ran out of chips and some tortillas. Service was fast and attentive. I ordered a steak burrito and it was not presented very well. However i didnt have a problem with it. The burrito stayed together well and was well made. meat was a liytle dry but other than that I really enjoyed it. I also like how this place is very clean (tables etc. not the sand) and it is not very expensive. I'd recommend it

We had a going away party for one of our co workers here. They were awful. The couldnt/wouldnt accomodate us. We only had 12 people and they said we were too many. They finally and reluctantly served us. Then they wouldnt split the check. The food was ok, but we were sour on the service so who knows. These people need to learn what cuatomer service is. Their location will only hold them over so long. Id stay away until you see some better reviews. Update to the Owners repsonse: We went on 3/4 around 5pm.

We love this place! The food is simple, tasty and fresh. They usually have live music, the atmosphere is relax and the servers are friendly. We love the carnitas tacos, the corn, guacamole and the margaritas. Great outdoor place to have a relax time with awesome food!

    (4)
  • Amy O.

I am giving 3 stars for the atmosphere only. My husband has an allergy to cilantro, and was told that it is already in all of the food... ALL... of the food, so we had to eat elsewhere. Just because you're a Mexican restaurant does not mean that you have to put cilantro in each and every dish. You could at least have some alternatives.

    (3)
  • Karen K.

The Taco Shack's live music is way too loud. And the staff don't seem to care either. We tried to move table away from the speaker and 4 waitresses yelled at us for moving it. It seems they rather plop a table wherever it fits, even if it's right in front of a mega speaker, than care about their customers becoming deaf. Food and staff are decent though. But I wouldn't exactly have this on my "Let's go to this restaurant" list. I will give thumbs up for the ping pong

    (2)
  • Allison C.

The staff here is really kind, but the food is pretty flavorless. I guess I may be harsh because I've eaten real Mexican food a lot, but this is basically a more expensive version of Taco Bell, only the tacos don't have as much flavor. Nice outdoor atmosphere, though, and if you bath the food in hot sauce it's edible.

    (1)
  • Katie N.

Absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is perfect for a night out, whether that's a date night or with a group of friends. The mahi mahi tacos were the best I've ever had! The margaritas are the perfect match for anything on the menu! We also had the guacamole appetizer, which was delicious! The staff was having a great time, it wasn't very busy when we visited but they were dancing with the music and laughing and having fun!

Hands down best tacos and margaritas on the eats coast and this side of the Mississippi. The guacamole is the freshest I ever had perfectly blended with lime juice and spice. My first margarita kicked my ass the fifth one I don't think did anything but tasted delicious. They gave me two sauces but the yellow one worked for everything including the nachos which are messy delicious madness. Taco beach shack I will cherish our time together. Ps. The manager Mae was really nice and professional

First of all know that if you can find parking AND get what you ordered, the food is great! But chances are of that happening are tough. Service here has always been an issue, and I've been coming here from its beginning for years. I can't tell you how many times I've come here and had to drive off because there was no parking. Or gotten home and found the wrong order in my take out bag. They also add on automatic tip charge on take out orders....never heard of that before. Not sure what service I'm getting exactly for a take out order. I pretty much tell them in advance to take off the charge so beware. Im hoping now that other taco places have opened up on the beach maybe. The competition will have them pay more attention to service.

Fun outdoor taco spot. We were very comfortable with our kids there. Service was great and they treated our kids well. Food was terrific. I recommend the Baja Mahi taco and the short rib and kimchee. My husband loved the steak burrito. Our only problem was over-ordering food!

This place is amazing and definitely the perfect place for little ones (donkey ride; tattoos and refreshing limonada on Cinco de Mayo! My little tot was greeted by friendly staff. There is a kid-friendly menu for picky eaters ( Thanks Tony) Special thanks to John for welcoming my little tot with a Mexican wrestler figurine. Hugs to the entire staff; everyone was delightful and gave exceptional service.

First, the service, Val, what a gem!! Super service. She recommended the carnitas tacos, the best!! The grilled corn, yum! The tacos plate of 3 tacos, rice, beans and grilled corn is a generous portion. The tacos are well stuffed, no skimping on fillings here. They have a great atmosphere and well worth the short walk from the beach!! I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Hey Cassie get them serving green chili and the place would be perfect!

I went there yesterday. The service was awesome. The waiter was so nice that he gave us recommendation when i asked, and explained the dish meaning when i didn't understand its meaning since i am a foreigner. The taco of brisket, which recommended by him, smoked 12 hours, tasted super delicious. And baked corn is tasty, too.

Decent/good food. Friendly service, although our waters were forgotten every time we asked for them. Atmosphere is nice, they have huge fans to help move the hot Florida air around outside. My biggest complaint - the bathroom was gross. Pee on the seat, toilet paper all over the floor, and barely-running water. I'm a firm believer in a bathroom reflecting the true colors of a business, and I was pretty disappointed.

Great food. Tacos are like $3-5 depending on your choice of meat. Fast service. Great location.

Arrived early in the evening around 5:45pm a server told us to sit where ever and someone should be over soon, we chose the couch style table under a tent outside. 15 minutes we noticed waiters arguing with what seemed a manager or supervisor and no one has yet come over to our table, i got up headed to bar, asked the bartender if someone was serving the area where we were sitting at, he gave me a nasty look and rudely said "yes someone will be there soon" another 10 minutes went by, we see a waiter pass by us and he seemed upset and was cursing at something. So we just got up and left. Very Poor service, never tasted the food, but found a great place on the broadwalk, the taco spot. BTW as we sat ignored for almost 30 minutes we saw staff by the bar chit chatting and laughing. We are locals and perhaps they only cater to tourists, But we will never go back nor recommend this place.

Opened early for us. Very nice staff. Tacos were excellent. Ordered baja mahi mahi and Korean tacos. Korean was the best. Calamari was wonderful! Recommend eating here for sure.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Listen honestly the staff isn't world class but i don't care as long as my food comes in a timely manner. My favorite choice is the Korean Short Rib & Kimchi Slaw tacos which are just so tasty. The drinks are a little expensive but expected on the beach. Nice live music and a block from the beach. What more can you ask for?

Love this place! I bring all my visiting family here. It's super cute and my kids get to play ping pong while we wait for our food. The steak burrito is huge and so yummy!

Awesome tacos and great FL beach vibe. Korean Short Rib tacos were delicious and their famous corn was a real treat. Will put this on my list for future trips.

Went there at 9 pm on a Sunday. After 10 minutes of no service we had to stop someone to place order. The waiter than told us there is no guacamole, no cheese, no corn, no brisket, no kamichi and they are not substituting nor discounting the meal price. But the good part was there was only one order ahead of us if we stay for diner. We use to be regulars when they first opened, and this is the service we have received on the last few visits. After tonight I would only say that we are no longer customers.

Very laid back atmosphere. It's nice relaxing with a pitcher of cold sangria on the large couches.Try the Korean Short rib with Kimichi slaw burrito. With the exception of the sweet server with the short dark hair, who is totally terrific, the service usually kind of sucks, but the alcohol always has me feeling very forgiving.

Great tacos and drinks! Crappy service! Really they couldn't care less about us and I think server went to get high a few times while we were there. Loved the live guitar Spanish pop music and less the DJ afterward (stick to the singer!!!). Server completely out if it...order wrong, asked for things that never came, and walked away mid conversation several times. Actually quite amusing. Despite this I loved the place. I would give it five stars if service were up to par. Also need more than one shared men/ladies bathroom!

We have been going to the "Shack" almost weekly since we moved down here over a year and half ago. We have enjoyed it each and every time, and so has our dog Murphy. We enjoy the lunch specials on Tuesday and/or Weds or sometimes just chow down on a big and satisfying burrito!! Don't forget to get the corn!!! When we first started going to the Taco Shack, we met Val and Chrissy. They were friendly and very helpful with suggestions and explaining the specials. Gastone is a recent and welcome addition to their staff as he is full of energy, on his game and a people pleaser. Together, they all make you feel like your best friends coming over for a bite to eat. Between the great food (variety/great taste/nice sized potions at a very reasonable price), wonderful people, location, proximity to the beach, entertainment and IT"S OUTDOORS...... it's our favorite late lunch place. Murphy likes it to.

I come to this place very often because its close to my house, it has a great atmosphere and the food is pretty good. However, since the management has changed and I think this place has gone a little downhill. First of all, they made it a lot more expensive than it used to be. The food quality has also gone down a little bit too. For example, the new guacamole is not as good. Also, they used to give a lot of great fish in the mahi mahi tacos, but they only give you a small amount now. I also don't really understand the flow of this place, because they blocked off two of the entries, and now everyone has to exit/enter the same small place including the garbage guy a couple times a night (yuck!).

Hey Mae, I happened to see your place while looking for parking at the boardwalk. We were in a small group and saw yelp reviews and decided to give you guys a try. Glad we did. There aren't places like yours around the Miami area so a good Mexican and island place was welcomed. Would love to come back!

Good food to bad it is one of the worst managed places I have been to. Manager very rude to patrons. Came in with a party of 12 and the manager kept suggesting that we leave. She reluctantly sat us down and seemed bothered that we stayed. Turning away patrons is bad business. . I work very hard for my money and feel better spending it in a place that treats me well.

Best guacamole in south florida !!! The tequila list is incredible almost 50 types of premium tequilas. They need more bathrooms. I drank my my ass off and had to go like ten times. I really like the atmosphere because the music made me want to dance and get nasty with it. I like drunk times and I like dancin.

These guys are idiots. We decided to stop by after an excellent day at the beach with a party of 11. The waiter told us we were too many and would back up the kitchen. First time I hear this in my life. Meanwhile I saw at least 5 groups of 5 come in after us.

I've been to the Taco Beach Shack in the past. I was excited to take my coworker for her first taco Tuesday experience. As we arrived to the restaurant , we sat down patiently waited for 15 minutes for one of the three severs to recognize our presence. We noticed a the table next to us came in after us and received a menu right away. Meanwhile, we were left unnoticed. After we were approached by a server and asked if anyone was helping us. We informed her no, she apologized. It was unacceptable the restaurant was not even crowded it was a rainy day. I do appreciate the attempt of the server to give us free chips but charge us for the salsa? This is not the first time I've had this happen to me at Taco Beach Shack; waiting for a server to recognize guest. I think they need to work on customer service etiquette.

Relaxing atmosphere near the beach. Strawberry margarita was watered down and the guacamole was not good. More importantly the service was horrible!

Not a family restaurant, I felt embarrassed and discriminated right when the manager said he can't serve us. My wife's family came down to visit us and I told them about this awesome place called the Taco Shack in Hollywood, FL. When we arrived together, they said they can't serve us because we had 10 people and they can only serve 5. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, but since we have driven 1 hour and 36 mins from Port Saint Lucie to this place, I kept my cool and said we are 2 families and they can reserve seats for us for 5 at a time. Manager finally agreed as our family was seated first while my wife's family waited. As we were seated, the waiter took our order. Right after that, the manager came to us again and accused us of ordering for my wife's family who were waiting patiently for their seats and that we must leave if we have a party of 10. He must of heard us order 3 big nachos and 2 tacos and didn't realize my little kids can eat! After much convincing that yes, all that food is for our family, the asshole manager finally left us alone. Of course I'm a peaceful man, and I don't want to get into a big scene especially when my wife's family was around... but in the back of my mind I felt like I was discriminated, a feeling I've had before when I'm not welcome at a certain place because I'm an Asian American... or perhaps it's because i have little kids. My wife's family seats were finally available (after we were halfway finished with the food) and instead of seating them next to us, they were seated across the other side of the restaurant, even tho there were 2 big empty tables next to us... I think the manager wanted to make sure that I understand that my family will never be welcome there again! Here's the kicker tho, you would assume that they were super busy that's why we had to wait 37 minutes for a table and then seated across the room from eachother... but as I look around the restaurant, it was more than half EMPTY! (I should've taken some pictures of all the empty tables and chairs for you to see but as you can tell I was holding my anger in, a lot of it... and didn't want to show failure and embarrassment in front of my wife's family.) My wife and I were so disturbed with the Taco Shack in Hollywood FL that day, we couldn't finish our meal... whatever problem the manager had that day, I would never wish this experience to my worst of enemies and before you check in the Taco shack, check yourself first and make sure you're not Asian American or have any kids... or you'll have a bad taste in your mouth that will NEVER go away!

after going from disappointing bar to disappointing dive at Hollywood Beach, it was a relief to go somewhere with a friendly staff, good food, and modestly priced drinks... it is a gem in the dump of trashy bars in the area.... Thank you for saving our night

When everything is on here the food and service is amazing but more often than not this place is very inconsistent. I've been coming here regularly for about a year now and honestly service was better when Mae was managing. Now the servers seem to be in attentive and more concerned with talking to each other. With the exception of the senior servers not many of the servers here seem willing to help each other or take initiative to help guests even if they are not in there section. However the food has gotten more consistent as service declines. If you are looking for good food but don't care about service this place is for you. Make sure to order the shrimp with mango salsa and Korean short rib tacos. They are to die for!!!

Went here for Cinco De Mayo and thought I would have a great time. The band was good--is the only good thing nice I have to say about this place. They played really great live Soca, Calypso, and Reggae music and kept the crowd going. The service however was H O R R I B L E !!!!!! I will probably NEVER EVER go back to this place. The HOSTESS was RUDE, the BUS BOYS were RUDE, the WAITRESS was RUDE!!!!!! The food I have had better. I ordered a Chicken Taco Salad-- had 5 little itty bitty pieces of chicken and a ton of lettuce. My friend ordered a Chicken Burrito. it had barely any chicken, and was filled with rice and lettuce. We couldn't eat our meals for another 10 minutes because the waitress didn't bring us any silverware. We tried waving her down to let her know we needed utensils but it seemed like she kept avoiding all of her tables. I ended up going up to the server station and getting the plastic fork and knives myself. I started to eat my salad and realized there was no dressing. (This Chicken Taco Salad is not a typical Mexican Chicken Taco Salad--it is served with balsamic dressing or with a citrus balsamic vinaigrette, and grilled chicken. I specifically asked for the Citrus Balsamic when ordering it. When it came-- no dressing--well no big deal--I just asked her to bring me some--after another 10 minutes of tracking her down, and her bringing it to me-- she plops it down next to me and says --I am so sorry we don't have anymore Citrus Balsamic-we ran out earlier. Well why didn't you tell me that when I ordered?? Oh well-- I was so hungry at this point, pissed off--and the service up to this point was TERRIBLE!!!!--we just wanted to eat and get out. My Margarita on the Rocks was good-- my friend's Pina Colada --had no alcohol, after she requested a non-virgin Pina Colada. So all in all --this place SUCKS!!!!! But if you happen to be on the beach, and want to listen to a good live Calypso band and have some beers and/or Margaritas (on the rocks) --then you should be okay. However I do not like to give my money to establishments that treat their customers poorly--there are other places on the beach-- that have good drinks, good music, and good service.

We had a great experience. The service was excellent, the tacos & burritos were awesome. I had the Korean BBQ taco plate and I absolutely loved it. The grilled corn was a hit too. The best part was the seating right on the boardwalk and the view if the full moon rising over the ocean. We will go back.

I was staying at the attached hotel. I tried the recommended shrimp and mango taco as well as the shredded beef and kimchi slaw taco. Both were absolutely delicious. The chips were stale, as a result of sitting in a warmer all day. The salsa was good though. I tried the corn on the cob and it had a very good flavor, but it did have a lot of stuff on it, very messy, but tasty

Food was great! I loved the shrimp and steak tacos! The piña colada was amazing too. Only thing was that the kitchen was super slow, not the place to go for a quick bite on a Saturday night but a chill place to enjoy good times.

Okay I have back to this place and gave it a third shot and I will tell you I must have had a bad experience the first two times. Today it was great. What I really think it is the yellow sauce and that is what they call it. Changes the flavor to the dishes. So avoid this and you will have a great meal.

I've found my favor Taco place in South Florida. Taco Beach Shack offers a true Mexican menu! Trust me, I'm Mexican and that creamy habanero salsa is the most delicious and spicy hot sauce around here! Delicious home made guacamole, best carnitas tacos, Baja fish tacos, and Shortrib tacos will make you come back to this amazing place in Hollywood Beach. Great outdoor sitting is the perfect place to bring the family for lunch or dinner! If you love tacos like I do, visit Taco Beach Shack soon. You'll be in Taco Heaven! Trust me

Yummy!! Love all of their tacos, best of all is the Korean beef and kimchi taco. AMAZING. Fried shrimp is delicious as well. The food is great, the service is decent, but the prices are terrible. Given the fun outdoor vibe and proximity to the beach, I'd love to give Taco Beach Shack 4/5 stars, but the prices are just way too high.

I agree with jazmin l... There needs to be more uniformity in the level of customer service. It's hard to find great food, ambiance, and customer service in so. Fla and I feel that this place would be great if the customer service wasn't only directed at certain guests while others go neglected.. It is enough to make me not want to come back, being in the service industry I value great customer service..that would be a shame because aside from that I love this place!

The short rib kimchi slaw tacos are so perfectly spicy. Down in Hollywood from ATL visiting my best friend, I've been here 3 days and we've gone twice already and I hope to go again before I leave. Hoping I can find something even remotely similar when I get back home!

A little late but that's because I'm missing the food here! Best tacos, corn and dessert I have ever had. The secret sauce in those tacos make it! Can't wait to go on vacay and go back there. Very well priced !

This place is our local taco joint. Very fun atmosphere with outdoor seating. Great tacos and corn. Last few times we were here the service was going really downhill. Apparently they made a few changes and this time the service was outstanding. mike C was our waiter and he was on it! Friendly, checked in on is and made sure our food was out quickly. Glad they are back on track!

The Korean short rib tacos are the best! The combo with the grilled corn makes it better, lol. Sit at a table on a terrace or lounge out on the rattan couches in the sand (with your pup!)...listen to live music, play a little ping pong, & if you're there late, take advantage of the 3/$3 tacos & $2 bud lights!! Great place to grub & chill after the beach or when you just need a little sand in your toes & the salty breeze during lunch/dinner ;)

I have visited this place on few different occasions. It has a relaxed outdoor vibe; comfortable patio, ping pong tables, and occasional live performances. They have some great late night margaritas and tacos special. Tried some mini tacos and they tasted pretty good. The quality of service could use a bit improvement, but nothing too serious.

I liked this place a lot. First off. Great atmosphere. Outside and ultra casual. Drinks were very good. Unfortunately they were out of short rib nachos which were recommended but we tried the carnitas nachos and were not disappointed. For main course I had three tacos. One beef. One Baja mahi-mahi and one brisket. Brisket one was outstanding Mahi mahi was very good and beef was least favorite but still good. Very solid place and I would definitely go back. My daughter got gnutella taco for dessert and devoured it. Four stars!

Guacamole is fresh but the chips aren't that great. The salsa was average. The outdoor seating is a great way to take in the South Florida weather. Chicken and carnitas tacos were well seasoned. I enjoyed the slaw and habanero salsa. 2 tacos is plenty with guacamole. Parking is limited and they charge.

Location is great. Has ping pong tables and live music on the Saturday night that we went. Ordered the Korean short rib taco and a margarita. After 10pm, they have a 3 for 3 special on tacos and 2 dollar margaritas. The Korean short rib tacos were pretty decent, and spicy! The margarita I wasn't too much of a fan... seemed like it was diluted.with chaser. The service reviews are pretty accuate, but can probably be attributed to a lot of business during the later hours.

Very nice laid back place, very convenient location for an after dinner stroll on the broad walk. Decent prices, very large portions. You can taste freshness in their product. They have live soloist that sings covers from Bob Marley, sting, and others. The place is outdoors and it's a resort type place. Wait staff are cool and act like concierges.

Authentic Mexican ambiance. If you're in a hurry, don't come when it's busy. Be forewarned! Worth the wait, though. Food is incredible! Barbecue sloooow cooked. Margaritas or Sangria. Chill atmosphere, friendly staff. Burritos are huge. Everything is fresh & very tasty.

I live close by & the food is ok. The ambiance & location is great though you have to pay for parking since it's on the beach. The service was great & the place is cute & fun. I do feel that the food is decent but nothing spectacular. It has more curb appeal than anything.

This WAS one of my favorite taco spots until my recent visit with my boyfriend. As my boyfriend took his last bite of his first taco he noticed a screw inside his taco.. Yes you read that correctly!! A SCREW!! We flagged down our server who immediately apologized and got someone who seemed to be the manager. The manager was apologetic as well. She also said she would take care of this. A few minutes later the manager gave him a new taco and apologized again. She informed us the screw was from the cutting board. Mistakes happen.. I get that. But how can you overlook placing a screw into a taco. I wasn't going to write this review, but after receiving my bill I changed my mind. I was appalled to find out they only took off that one taco. Like really? The outcome of the screw could have been a lot worse. He could have broke his teeth, or even worse swallowed the screw!! And you are only going to give us one free taco. There was no way I was paying for this meal. (Our bill was only $35, but it's the principle). I shouldn't have had to ask not to pay for this meal. Shame on you Taco Beach Shack!! You lost two regulars.

Reading the reviews, I decided to try the Korean Taco and grilled corn. One word...delish! My friend had the Baja Style Mahi-Mahi, also delish! Our server Rasheeda was so friendly and sweet it made our first experience at the 'shack' so pleasant. Already planning out next outing!

Wow...what can I say!!? Couple of us sat by the bar- served by Sean (very fun and accommodating). We had some margaritas, corona lights, and the Taco Beer. The taco beer is brewed by Cooper City, but a good light IPA. We started with the chips, salsa and guacamole; pretty standard. It was 2 for 1 taco Tuesday, and we got 2 ground beef tacos (one with mushrooms), a chicken and a carnitas. However, our order was messed up and instead of 4 tacos we ended up with 8! But it was kitchen staff, not us or Sean, so we got a few extra...major points. They all tasted very fresh, the only downside was that the cilantro sauce wasn't a hit with everyone- it's an acquired taste I guess! Halfway through we ordered the roasted corn..ummm, amazing. Quick service, great drinks, amazing atmosphere (live music on a TUESDAY) makes this an immediate recommendation and after work hot spot.

Update: came last weekend, your bartender once again complained about tips. 2:30pm It took 15 minutes to even order two tacos at the bar ( just to order not to make, you had 5 tables seated all 4 tops and I was the only one at the bar) like i said before, your clientele are not all tourist's from Canada, we know how to tip, furthermore, understand the service industry. However, your service is subpar. on the other hand, when the food does arrive, it is tasty. Hats off to the chef. At least someone is doing their job right. ( no foul language, just an honest review)

We saw this place on the way to our hotel & it looked like fun. Not the case. We asked the server what the specials were for drinks & dinner. None was the response. So we ordered a beer. My bf ordered a bud light. He was told they were all out of bud light. Let's just skip to the part where the table just seated next to us orders 4 bud lights. Their server (different from ours) comes back with the response we only have 3 bud lights. Hmm not what we were told when only ordering one. Besides this, same table, asks for the specials on food next.. They were told they have a special of certain tacos were 3$ a piece while we were charged 5$ or more for the same tacos. Which according to my bf had an old oil flavor... I ordered the fajitas. Steak & shrimp to be exact. 15$ later I received 5 shrimp that were not fresh & a couple of chunks of steak. The rest all veggies, accompanied by a mound of cheese, cabbage, & diced tomato that made the dish seem to be rather largely proportioned if you're into a salad on your tortilla with a hint of meat. Also I might add, the beans taste like some one marinated them in a cigar butt & the rice was blah. The entire meal which ended up costing us 50$, made my every bite scream with envy as I starred over at Billy's Stone Crab across the street, which we chose not to go to cuz we thought it looked pricey.

I have to laugh at your response to my review, I have a question for u , do all your corporate GM's names start with John! Isn't it funny on the evening I was there and the corporate GM name was John Frank! And he told 20 of us not to come back!, due to we overwhelmed your kitchen, due to u didnt have enough staff but u have. Tables to sit more then that ? This is how u talk to your customer's ? Much less use fake names, I see on a review from the same night, the managers name is John Paul.. I really don't understand how that is acceptable in your your business .

This place has the right idea! There are tons of options. I had the calamari taco combo, even though I was worried it would be over-breaded. It came out perfect! My friend had the mahi-mahi and chicken tacos, which she also enjoyed. We'll be back!

I give 2 stars only for a reason that it's not my kindof taste. The place is on a beach but not facing the beach. It's facing a road and parking lot. There is a live music after 7, and on Tuesdays night there was a special 2 for 1 tacos. Our waitress seemed a little overworked andit seemed like she had too many tables to serve. She came to us fast when we just sat and were Not ready to order, but then we couldn't get her attention for a good 15 minutes. By the time we got our 4 mushroom tacos we spend there 50 minutes. We thought it would be a quick bite, which it was,we ate for 5 minutes, but waited for it forever. Our server though came to us several times to let us know that it's coming, and afterword apologized for a long wait. While tacos were good, but being local living 5 minutes away I wouldnnt make it my place to eat. I didn't have an impression of a well cleaned place, as my table was smeared with a red sauce, and glass on it just looked dirty Overall, touristy place, long wait, food is ok but not worth the wait, tip was added, which really was quite silly as we would leave even more if it was not added already.

I don't know what that smell was coming from the kitchen area, perhaps backup from the grease trap, It was very offensive, but it's the nature of sewage flow on the beach, not any fault of the restaurant, just don't sit too closely to the kitchen. We were told it would be 45 minutes before we would be seated even though we clearly saw 4 tables in seperate areas. I usually don't mind because I know that some times there are good reasons for this, but restaurants should offer an explanation to their customers as a matter of good customer service. Just wasn't worth it to me. The two stars is not a review of their food, but for poor customer service.

I'm from Mexico and I have to say that they have the best ceviche I've ever tried !!!! Very clean and nice place to eat!

Terrible service by JESSE who is clearly miserable at his place of employment to scream and embarrass customers trying to have a late night dinner after a beautiful evening at the beach. He was looking for a fight.... strange when your job is to be polite because you work off of tips right? Needless to say we got up and left because JESSE didn't like the fact we wanted to order water before a round off drinks. A diet coke and water is too much to ask for without fearing a fight from a WAITER??? Wouldn't recommend this place, and its a shame because we didn't even get a chance to eat or drink because if his combative behavior. Nice way to act to an officer of the law and a nurse....

What a complete joke this place is! Went there on a friends leaving do on Tuesday!!.Turned up there at 5.30, there were around 5 of us at first and we first asked for the dirty tables to be cleaned as they were dirty and caked in old food! This did not go down well with rolling eyes from one of the servers!! Then after around 15mins a server came over and said 'Oh do you want menus'?!!! I asked him can we get a drink first? again no one came back to us!! I went over to where the servers were standing around and again asked ' can we get a drink'?? This was some 30 Min's after had arrived! By then there were around 12 people in our group and no had a drink or menus!! The manager came over and stated!! Sorry there are to many of you!! and we can't give you server's after 50 Min's my friend went to the bar got some drink and he brought them over to us!! At that point a few of us went to a beach side bar around the corner and had a drink and some food within 15 Min's!! When I talked to my friends who stayed at the Taco shack the next day they told me it got worse!! . The shack would not split the check and were charged almost $200 for a few drink and a few Tacos! And at the end the server held his hand out for a tip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the end of the day this is just a Taco place there are many more around close to this place...My suggestion is eat somewhere else this place is a nightmare!!

GREAT FOOD- GREAT ATMOSPHERE- service is the only reason I gave it four stars but I never mind sitting in the sun, drinking a daquiri so I had no problem waiting for amazing chicken tacos, korean short rib tacos, and the mango shrimp tacos. It's a little more expensive than I think a taco shack should be but the ambiance and quality more than compensates.

This place is awesome!! A place that served up authentic Mexican food with a little Miami flare. My wife and I went in and ordered a shrimp quesadilla, short rib tacos, and the crispy calamari tacos and they were delicious. We live down in south beach so it's not jut next door, but it is WELL worth the drive from wherever you are coming from. We returned a week later to grab a Togo order of dozens of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and what they call their "combos". Which is the entree along with rice beans and an awesome roasted corn on the cob with parmesan... All in all, great place to grab some great food, great prices and a very friendly staff.

This place is great... I mean it! I wouldn't call it Authentic Mexican food but it was everything we had hoped for. We were in the area scanning Yelp and saw a taco spot close by so we came back to the area the following day to check it out. It was rainy but we were hungry and nothing was stopping us. Seated right away, outdoor only, but it's covered so we were in good shape. Our waitress Rhea was a true expert on the food. She did a phenomenal job explaining the menu and making some tremendous recommendations! I wish everyone in the industry were this good! We started off with some chicken nachos Crispy tortillas topped with melted cheddar cheese, black beans, picco de gallo, homemade guacamole, sour cream, and fresh sliced jalapeños. OH, and chicken of course! It was wonderful, the type of cheese you can drink and fresh seasoned chicken! We both loved it. THE SAUCE, there were two different kinds, a smokey chili sauce that was pretty good but the winner was a creamy habanero sauce that I tore up!!! For the main I went with 2 mahi tacos, one grilled and one fried, one hard and one soft(based on Rhea's expert opinion). Tremendous! The girlfriend went with a breaded shrimp taco that was apparently good enough that she didn't want to share! Must've been amazing... :-) The GM, Mark also stopped by for a chat. Great guy! Mark, Rhea definitely took part in our great experience! She's a keeper! Lol

I love the food and the ambiance. Absolutely LOVE IT. Used to be One of my favorite places on the beach (I'm a local) and I frequently make the short trip over the bridge on the trolley to simply have lunch here. Lately business ethics seem to be lacking terribly. Having worked in food service since my teenage years, when a place has terrible business practices, even the best food can't keep me coming back.

We came here with some friends for dinner after visiting the Anne Kolb park and geo-caching. It was crowded and took a while to get seated. There was a total of 7 of us. There were some picnic tables that were free the whole time we waited. Eventually a server told us just to take one and we did. This was the only negative of our visit. Our server was very attentive and helpful, up until the end when we had to hunt him down for our check. We got the carnitas, grilled mahi, Korean short rib, and guaco tacos. The tacos will definitely fill you up and are delicious. Prices are high for tacos, but you aren't going to get tacos like this just anywhere.

Stopped by here on a Friday Nite around 9pm. No waiting and we sat down on one of their rectangular sofa table arrangements. My friend begins to dust off the sofa as sand is everywhere. And right about then a male voice (our waiter) says "This is your first time here huh?" And then proceeds to explain the beach and sand concept of the "Taco Beach Shack". Ok ok excuse us for not wanting sand up our butts lol. Next our manner challenged server tells us how all the food is made from scratch. And, as a result, there is a 15-20 wait time on all food. We ordered beef nachos and 5 minutes....presto!...delivered to our table. LOL This was two quick earth-shaking-strikes against our server. The nachos were a bit stale, beef crumbling off every chip, lukewarm cheese (appeared of liquid variety).....enough said! To complete the trifecta (turkey for bowling analogy), Mr. Waiter bad mouths other restaurants on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk like Nick's Restaurant...stating how salty the food is yada yada yada. Just so happens I have eaten at Nick's more than once. For a comparison, Nick's would be in the major leagues and Taco Beach Shack in Pee Wee Ball ! $1 mini tacos and $2 margaritas after 10pm boosts my rating to 2 stars. But never been at this time, so not sure the actual size and taste. Just go to Nick's instead like we did :)

HECK YEA! I love there crispy fish tacos and their veggie quesadilla is a close second. If you're coming from the beach this is a great spot since you don't really have to worry about the furniture getting wet. Prices are reasonable and they offer daily specials, I went on Monday and they had $3 Margaritas that are NOT watered down (a plus for all my alchys) This location does not offer parking so you do have to find a public lot. The times Ive been there they are usually short on staff so its a little wait time if you need a refill or additional service. Also don't expect the place to be spotless since its outside, Im pretty sure the stains on the couches are from food... but DONT let that stop you from picking up them damn good CRISPY FISH TACOS! I don't even like fish, but I literally dream about these tacos *insert heart emoji*

This is one of my favorite places to eat. They say when you have a positive experience you share with a few people and when you have a negative you share with at least ten. I would say it's the opposite here. My favorite question to ask people is "Do you like tacos?" with a response of "Good. You need to go here, order the corn on the cob. Don't question it, just go with it." I would have never ordered that corn if it wasn't for the server who highly suggested I try it. I've passed that suggestion on to everyone who likes tacos. LOL. Seriously, if you're on here looking for a chill atmosphere.. that serves tacos.. Check this place out. Get the corn on the cob. Promise you won't be disappointed. Unless your taste buds are jerks.

Came here for dinner with a group of friends. Pros: - Our waiter Mike was awesome! Nicest person ever. He knew that the kitchen was extremely busy so he gave us chips with gauc and salsa - Steak salad was okay - Veggie quesadilla was delicious - Burritos were nicely wrapped, meat was tender, and good proportions - Cilantro cream tasted great - Good size portions - $3 margarita Mondays - the drinks were very very generous (strong) - Cute decor - love the tents - Taco - hard shell didn't fall apart Cons: - Took around an hr to get our food

It's not "authentic" by any means, but it was so ridiculously good that my friends and I went back for a second meal there...just two days later. Love the little seated couch area in the back, not as loud and a little more spacious and private. Great vibes all around. The waiters are a blast, fun and friendly. Now, about the food. I had the carnitas taco combo (again). The meat was so incredibly tender and the cilantro cream was a flavor bomb. The corn was roasted to perfection with a generous coating of parmesan and a peppery glaze. The size of the taco combo was perfectly filling after a long day of beach bumming and also included a side of beans and rice.

Book a room next door and enjoy the beach, when you get hungry go to the shack. Tons of great items on the menu, but i recommend the tacos. Get any of them, get an assortment. They're all great! Some pretty decent beer choices as well. Their Cinco de Mayo celebrations are pretty fun. We've gone two years in a row and if John is there you'll know it. He'll be wearing a sombrero and pouring tequila from a bottle down peoples faces! Great little place if you're in the Hollywood area!

Yummmmm. I had Korean kimuchee and rib taco, (kimuchee is spcy hakusaiーraddish pickle, its lil bit sour) It was perfectly delicious! To me, that wasnt relax atmosphere(table was sticky not stable i got mosquito bit) its more likely picnic experience. I really enjoyed some alcohol in plastic cup and yummy tacos. I waited lil long for my taco, but i didnt mind at all. I was like, hey im here for picnic, i have a cup of beer and live music is playing infront of me, who can complain abt this.

Since we were staying at the beach for the weekend we decided to have a quick dinner here. I was so excited because I had wanted to eat here in the past but could never find any parking. So I am sad to say we won't be going back. We went on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. It had rained hard earlier that day. This is any open air eatery, under a tent that leaks! All of the tables were wet, which was understandable. What wasn't understandable was the fact that the standing water in the dining area was fetid and foul smelling. And while the tacos were good, and the street corn was amazing, we will probably never eat there again because of the sewer smell of the standing water. I suggest they invest in a hose and at least try spraying the old water out of the area. Maybe that would help with the foul odor.

Heard good things, went Tuesday for lunch. After waiting about 10 minutes and watching multiple waitresses walk by and ignore me and the inside bartender look at me, I gave up! Too many other places to spend money on the beach for that aggravation and sloppy service. Then again, I never got served so who knows?! Where the management.

Garlin is awesome! Food is delicious! Booze is readily available! ($2 REAL margaritas) I think it's so cool that they offer live music every night too. But come early or call ahead as this place can get packed ! Definitely coming back for more good times. Thanks TBS Team!

Worst experience Ive ever had on hollywood beach, can't believe I had to wait 45 minutes for tacos. Soft tacos that were anything but. Cardboard would have been more appealing. Do you know how many ingredients are in a taco!? And why was it cold after 45min? Please remove taco from your menu! Management really needs to look onto whats going on here. L&I anyone? Food like this is bound to make someone ill...

$3 margaritas all day long on Mondays. How could you go wrong. Very tasty. This is a great hidden gem that many of you may know but I didn't until today. I can't begin to tell you how goods these tacos were. The flavor profile was so complex it just kept lingering on my mouth. I used to manage a tequila taco restaurant that had great food. These tacos knocked it out of the park. The korean bar b que written kimchee was absolutely delicious. Totally unexpected. The carnitas tacos were absolutely to die for !!! They're doing it right by marinating that pork ahead of time then cooking it slowly. The pork was so tender. Kudos to you guys. Keep doin what you're doin. Urr doin. And I can't forget the bartender Gaston. He'll take good care of you. Thank you sir. Well they dropped a star in my book after jumping to the top with my first original visit. I've been here 3 times within a week in a half. Food is still the same. Delicious. Quality is there. But Last time here I ordered to go and Dustin the bartender told me they didn't do to go after 5:00. Totally fine but he still helped me and put it in a to go container since he said he wasn't busy. Very nice of him. I thanked him. My most recent time here 3 days ago I order to go well before 5:00 & the brunette bartender, she says they don't do to go orders. I ask her, ok, but can you please help me understand something. I mention that I was here three days ago and Dustin the shaved head bartender tells me one thing and you are telling me another. I just want to know the proper answer so I can abide by it. Is there to go or not ? She tells me no there is not at all. All I'm looking for is consistency in a place with their policies and procedures. That's all. Food is still outstanding and delicious ! Thanks for listening.

Nothing too special about this taco stop. Decent food prices, a great lounge area, and attentive service are the quick highlights. in regards to the food I would say it it's average at best. I had the beef taco platter/combo for $12th. Comes with three tacos, Mexican Street Corn, rice, and beans. Unfortunately, it was rather bland and the beef was barely noticeable. They do have daily specials which when I went was a $3 margarita, which was an excellent price for the beach. I may try again for the happy hour specials.

What a fun place to go! We had the ground beef nachos loaded and they were GOOOD. I hate when you get nachos at other places and there's chips still left in the basket not at this place we had topping left over and that's a good thing. There are some dislike they needed to add a little more cheese to the nachos. Also the patio furniture needs an face left or to be cleaned the couches have stains and the cushions looked old and used.

I have no idea why they have 3.5 stars...... Our bar tender was amazing I would give him 10 stars. Very nice person! The food is disgusting you get what you pay for. Cheap! Cheap as in $2 margaritas that get you drunk as soon as you take a sip. Have fun with those! If you're looking to have a drunk night out I guess those are good. Stick only to chips and salsa as their food is exactly what you pay for. Again... Gross food great service. Don't park across the street as you will get toed. That was entertaining! Hope this helps! Another thing, you can see the kitchen has a leak on the roof from the bar area....they should get that fixed sometime. Cheap food cheap price, open late, 10 thumbs up!

The good: The Carnitas Tacos were flavorful and very filling. I loved the cilantro cream sauce in the tacos! I also really enjoyed the hot sauces that our waitress brought on the side for us. Theres a thick yellow one that was just perfectly spicy. The red one was super hot but tasty. A little went a long way. The bad; The chips for our chips and salsa were very stale and tedious to chew. The diet coke was beyond flat and weren't offered reflills (charged or free- we weren't even asked if we wanted more) The parmesan corn on the cob, though extremely tasty- was stone cold. The beans were just canned black beans with a little seasoning. Not even Mexican refried beans. Also, as sweet as our waitress was, we waited a long long time to get our check. Overall; Come on a Wednesday afternoon like we did to try out the combos for a couple bucks less than the regular price. The CARNITAS are simply DELICIOUS.

Taco beach shack has a great vibe w/ outdoor lounge seating or regular tables, ping pong tables, flatscreen tvs & music on the wknds. One of the first gems we found since moving to Florida & definitely on regular rotation. All their tacos are amazing and I normally enjoy chicken tacos but their mushroom tacos are my favorite here. Also good korean short rib tacos.. This place is great late night too where you can get the mini tacos for $1 each! AAAANNNND $2 margaritas or beer- it's a steal! Right near the beach you cant beat the ambiance and value- staff have always been very friendly & helpful too.

7 of us went on a busy Sunday afternoon. The hostess said she could seat us right away if we were okay with sitting on a couch. We accepted. The couch was perfect for those of us who had quesadillas. Otherwise, it can be a challenge to eat over the low table. Our server Chris, was super friendly. He recommended us 3 ladies split the margarita pitcher, I think we can all agree it was a great choice. I loved my chicken quesadilla and the sauces they bring you. I believe my favorite was the habanero sauce. The atmosphere was perfect. They had fans lightly blowing and a singer performing, but not too loud so I was able to hear my friends across the table. I will definitely be back to this place!

Its about the food is why you cone here. Yes its a little run down, the bathrooms are not the cleanest but the service has always been friendly and prompt. The prices are what you would expect for a tourist area. Light live music like a guitarist plays sometimes. They have sofa settings if you want a patio relaxed atmosphere with friends.

Johnny Long at Taco Beach Shack was amazing! The food is spectacular and the environment is superb! One block from the beach and a fun lounge area for a good time with margaritas and the music!!! Oh the music, I love salsa... Nothing like some Marc Anthony to go with Latin food on the beach in Hollywood, FL.

Awesome casual spot near the beach! It's basically got the feel of a Mexican beach bar, just a couple of blocks up from the water. Great live music, dog friendly patio, and killer tacos! We had mahi mahi and shrimp, both in soft tacos, and they were fantastic. Light and fresh, tons of flavour. Our waitress, Rosalyn, was awesome - knowledgeable, fun, and very attentive! I'd go back anytime - and make sure to get the grilled corn!

We stopped in on our bikes for lunch on Memorial Day. You can park your bikes next to the bushes and sit at a table by them. They had a guy singing and playing guitar, which gave it a beach vibe. This was my second time eating here and I had forgotten on how inflexible they are with the menu. It would be great if you could get different flavored tacos with the taco entrée so you can get the rice and beans. One gets tired of eating the same three tacos....please allow us to mix it up!!! They need taco combo options! They charge for chips and salsa. The salsa is not enough for the amount of chips provided so then you have to pay another $1 for more salsa. I had the ground beef nachos. They use nacho sauce instead of melting fresh shredded cheese on top. It comes with fresh sliced jalapenos, sour cream, black beans, and guacamole. I didn't ask for salsa, since I knew I would be charged for it. I wanted brisket nachos but they wouldn't allow it. They should considering adding it to the menu. How hard is it to sprinkle shredded brisket on top of nachos??? There is one bathroom for the entire restaurant...be prepared to wait your turn. They have plenty of fans to help keep you cool. We had to go up to the bar to get more water after asking our waitress twice for it. My friends were very pleased with their Korean and brisket tacos. My beef nachos were just okay. I will try the fancy tacos next time. Parking is a nightmare on the weekend. I have only gone by bike so I didn't have to deal with the parking situation. There is a parking lot in front of Taco Beach Shack and there was a long line to get in on Memorial day. There are other lots a few blocks away or try street meter parking.

Three things I love about this place: 1) It's right on the beach, specifically a popular beaching area in Hollywood (great for meeting new people if that's on your personal agenda) 2) The tacos are consistently delicious and well-priced (as well as the drinks) 3) The nightly happy hour special is the bestest: $1 tacos and $2 margaritas 10pm-1am I've visited here during the regular daytime and also during the after-hours. During the day they have live music and Ping-Pong tables, and the tables range from regular sitting tables to outdoor couches to casual bar seating. The floor is covered in a mix of sand and rock, making you feel like your still walking on the boardwalk. There's a hostel connected to this restaurant, so many of the hostel occupants come here to eat and socialize. I enjoy this place mainly for the excellent tacos and the beachy scene. It's outdoors, but also has good coverage in the event of the dreaded South Florida summer rainstorms. The crowd here is very casual and laid-back; I wouldn't compare it to any movies scenes in Getting Over Sarah Marshall or (my favorite) Blue Crush, but the atmosphere is very beach cozy and low-key. Bottom line, if you're looking for good-casual beach dining, visit Taco Beach Shack.

I give 1 star for the food, which is pretty good. The service is the most horrendous I have ever experienced at any restaurant. Consistently (I've now been here 6 times) . We like the music and atmosphere, but you can seriously count on at least an hour for your food each time you come here. Today, we waited 15 minutes before a waiter ever came, which we had to ask for. And we have now been here an hour, with no food. No exaggeration. One would think the owners would figure out if they turned more tables during the night they'd make more money.

I've been to the Taco Beach Shack a few times. The first two times were great, excellent service, cool atmosphere eating on the sand watching a surf flick in a relaxed lounge environment. The food was good, we each had the tacos with grilled corn. It wasn't the best I've ever had but for the location and atmosphere it's good. The next two times the service was terrible, we waited a very long time for everything, including the greeting. I always ask to have no creamy sauces (hate it!) and often restaurants get that wrong. They did, ok, no dig deal but when I asked to have it corrected, the waitress and manager argued with me about the fact that the cream sauce was on the tacos. I had to pull it apart to show them. In what world do you argue with a customer about their food? It's too bad because my boyfriend and I had one of our first dates there and loved it but we haven't been back after two bad experiences. Taco Beach Shack, please get more staff and staff who cares about your restaurant b/c we loved it!

Took a chance on a new place in the beach area and was quite pleased with Taco Beach Shack. Food was very good, didn't drink, so I can't comment on that. Our server was friendly and on top of things. Seating is outdoors, but in full shade and considerably cooler than the warm temperatures of the Southern Florida heat. Parking is a nightmare in the area on weekends, but I can't fault the restaurant for that and we had live music (guitar player) that was a little louder than what is comfortable to listen to and talk over for most of our stay, but those were the only downers to our lunch. Find parking that costs less than your meal and either arrive on a musical break, or a less "amped" player and food and drinks can be very enjoyable at the Taco Beach Shack.

We showed up at a busy time (lunch time) and had to wait for about fifteen minutes. The hostess was very friendly. When we were seated we were promptly greeted by our waitress who took our drink order. We ordered shortly after and were given great recommendations by the waitress. The food was great! Delicious and not too pricey. We ordered some drinks from the bar and I had a white sangria. The live entertainment was great and so was the atmosphere. The only con was that we would have preferred having a mix & match option for the taco platter. You're basically stuck having all three with the same protein.

Cool little spot by Hollywood Beach. It's chill, with outdoor seating and the cool beach breeze hitting you as you play ping pong, lounge and enjoy your meal. Sure, the tacos are not AMAZING but I wouldn't say they are Taco Bell level either. The fish tacos and chips with guac were good enough to enjoy a day outdoors with great friends.

Let me first say the food is pretty good which is why they get 2 stars. With the exception of their atrocious nachos and queso the menu as a whole is overal pretty great. Now with that said this has got to be the most poorly run customer service business in the area. They are rude, unfriendly and could care less about even acknowledging you until they are good and ready. They never answer their phone when you call in. And today i drove all the way there only to find out they no longer accept take out orders. That is literally the dumbest thing ive ever heard. This isnt Prime 112 its a Taco place on the beach and you dont do take out orders? My brain hurts from the stupidity. Too bad when you dont answer your phone because someone could have told me that when i called. Like i said, the food here is pretty good but they arent worth the headache. I for one am going back especially because the service isnt good enough to warrant sitting down and having a meal.

This is a great place to relax, listen to some live music and have a few drinks. But above all, eat delicious taco's and fajitas! The staff knows its way around the menu and always has something good to recommend, been here twice and had a great time on both occasions. There's one downside to this place, the manager... Today I went in for some quesadillas and a drink at the bar, watching a basketball game. The staff behind the bar was super friendly and did their best to make sure everything was alright. Too bad you hear the manager stomping around the place and berating her staff CONSTANTLY. She (short woman) b**ches at the staff for little things and acts like a very unreasonable person. You're working with people, treat them like people! To the staff, you guys are doing a perfect job! I had a great time today, and last week my girlfriend and I had a perfect afternoon. We thank you for that. To the manager, please learn how to work with people. You're a disgrace to your staff and these people do not deserve a manager like you. Where I come from you would be labeled as a grade-A pain in the ass... and very replaceable...

After 10pm the food and drinks are practically free. In fact, I doubt I've ever been here before 10pm. The nachos are my go to, great portion and delicious. The seating is chill, and I've never received bad service. Also, the bathroom is disgusting, I honestly avoid using it.

I've been here a few times. The food is good and they always seem to have live music. Just be aware that it's 100% outdoors so it can get hot but being near the beach there's a nice breeze and they also have fans. The service is on/off. One day we had a horrible server that didn't know how to prioritize (we ended getting beers/drinks after our meal). But the other times it was okay, would just avoid his section. Check it out, it's like a Mexican margaritaville- no frills, good music & drinks!

Margaritas are good ... Nice atmosphere.Came here for a quick Appetizer and drinks before our main dinner. Service was hit or miss. We sat out of the main area and no servers came out to get our order. We had to flag someone down to cash out. ...

I usually don't write reviews unless I'm extremely disappointed or very happy with service. This is not what I expected. I've been here twice. Decent tacos and beer the first time, but a total disaster the second time. Bartender wasn't friendly at all. Would it kill you to smile. I ordered the Korean short rib kimchi tacos, and they were on ice cold tortillas. I sent them back to just watch them stuff them in the microwave. Needless to say when I got them back they were dry and falling apart. I should've left at that point but gave them a chance to fix it. With barely words from the waitress (No Sorry!!! Nothing) she brought the dish back for the kitchen for the third time. The manager had the nerve to tell me they don't use a microwave. (It's visible from the bar). All and all, they may have spit in my food but it wasn't bad the third try, lol I will not be going back!!!

I was so close to giving this place 5 stars, but good service goes a long way for my midwestern mannered self. The food however was AMAZING. I had 3 tacos, which usually is just enough food for me, but I couldn't even finish the last taco. These are BIGGER than your regular street taco!!! My favorite was the shrimp taco which was set apart with the use of mango salsa. BIG FAN. The steak taco was also magnífico, especially when I added the sweet chili sauce that was served with the tacos. I also had the baja mahi mahi, which was not my style, as I really only like mahi mahi when its battered and fried instead of grilled. I thought that baja style meant battered, so that was a little misleading. Fish fans would probably like this taco tho, it had all the right ingredients. My partner in crime had the chicken, carnitas, and korean short rib. I can only vouch for the Korean short rib that he let me try.. which was delicioso. I love Asian fusion food. His favorite was the chicken, which must mean the chicken was out of this world, because he is a hard core manly carnitas man. Ambience was good, a real beach shack with live music when we went on a Sunday afternoon. Service seemed a little unorganized and distant although I cannot say they were rude.

This was my first visit to Taco Beach Shack and I would definitely return. The service was good and prompt. The food was delicious and Tony, our server, even helped me get my plate modified due to me not liking certain toppings. I definitely recommend this cool place on the beach.

I want to like this place. I really do. We have been here at least 5 times. I just can't. Margarita Monday. $3.00 margaritas!! You get what you pay for. I have ordered a few different burritos here. Tonight, I had the ground beef burrito. Mediocre, at best. I really wanted the Taco Beach Shack IPA, a $3.50 to-go cup of do-able beer here, on tap. Nope. All out. We ordered some chips and queso. Chips were stale, almost inedible. The queso WAS inedible. Literally. It had a burnt flavor reminiscent of stale cigarettes from a house fire. We didn't eat it. Great atmosphere. Sand floor. One block from the beach. But for food and drinks? Nah. No thanks. We won't be going back.

This place is cute and beach trendy, (i.e. You'll easily spend more than expected). They had live music during my visit, but the sound unexpectedly cut off twice. Instead of helping the musicians troubleshoot the problem, the staff switched on the house radio. My burrito was heavy on rice, but it tasted great! The corn on the cob was dry and burnt. It didn't taste like it was cooked in any spices, but The atmosphere was so entertaining that I didn't mind not eating it. The waiter offered to replace it, but I didn't take him up on the offer because it looked like others were being served the same thing. They have a large unisex bathroom near the entrance. If you hold down the toilet flush lever for longer than two seconds, water drips out of the toilet lever. Luckily, there is a drain on the floor near the toilet.

Excellent choice for food. (Jan 26 visit) The Short Rib and Kimchi burrito was delicious and original. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge. The shrimp tacos were excellent as was the corn on the cob. There were some negatives; we went on a very windy day and the curtains on the patio were not drawn down. The wind kept blowing everything everywhere. At a certain mph, the curtains should be brought down as a rule. They should download the Weatherbug App - it's free. Our table was bent as if someone big sat on one side, Patio tables aren't too expensive and this one could have been repaired. The credit card machine was down that day but the ATM machine in the same restaurant was working fine. They both work with the Internet. The food was excellent but the two baskets of chips had a pile of small chips and crumbs at the bottom. Parking is a challenge here, too. The server and the food helped keep this at a 4-star rating.

The atmosphere it really beach appropriate and cute. The mahi-mahi quesadillas were really good, especially due to a sauce drizzled over the top. The margarita that I ordered was unfortunately a bit too strong and had no salt around the rim, even though I asked. Even so, the prices were reasonable for a little Mexican food joint near the beach.

Great spot on the beach! Glad we finally made the 10mim trek to find this place. It's all outdoors with a great vibe, live band (meh). When we arrived they told us they were short staffed and food would take a while, I like that, set the expectation from the get go and don't deceive me. We decided to stay, ordered beers and chips and chilled. The menu is simple and with good options, I had the chicken and shrimp tacos: great flavor, could have been warmer (specially the corn tortilla). My friend climaxed on then rib taco, and the corn-on-the-cob with parm cheese that comes with the combo is amazing! And their house hot sauce is HOT! Yum Definitely coming back!

I love coming here! Really cool, chill outside spot near the beach. Perfect place for dates, hangouts & just place to get out of the house & grab a bite to eat. Great specials on the daily. After 10 PM $1 mini tacos! My favorite meal is the Korean Short Rib & Kimichi Slaw combo. Comes with 3 rib tacos, corn on a cob & rice with beans. DELISH! Parking is scarce. Make sure to bring quarters to park at the beach parking. Lots of quarters if you're staying for a couple of hours. They have couches, a ping pong table, & projector!

I've been here several times so far and I usually show up after 10pm with friends for the $2 domestic drafts and margaritas. We are also night owls so the late closing time works for us since we work in the restaurant industry. I really enjoy the food. They seriously have the best black beans I've ever had. One time I sat at the bar and saw a thin man in a chef jacket working in the kitchen. That night we had the fish taco platter ( which comes with roasted corn, rice n beans ) and the ground beef nachos. Amazing! We damn near are the paper liner in the boxes. I don't know if this guy still works there because he wasn't there for my visit last night ( Labor Day )... I showed up alone and sat at my usual spot at the bar. Immediately when I settled in I noticed a very familiar "bar smell". Like...maybe the drains need flushing. A slightly sour, fruit juice-alcohol-mixer smell. I considered moving to a table but I know that if I sit at the bar I get the fastest service so I stayed. I ordered a Bud Lite and the short rib nachos. The bar tender didn't tell me though that they were out if pico de gallo...which would've been a deal breaker. I can't enjoy nachos without it. It's a flavor balance issue that I'm very anal about. I received them within 15 minutes and they were just ok. The meat was tender but had a sweetness I didn't like and it wasn't distributed evenly over the chips. The chips were a little too oil laden and the beans were definitely not cooked like the last time. They had a couple young dudes in the kitchen, they had new server trainees hanging around. I'm guessing this place might've changed management because they got a lot of kinks to work out. I'll be back when the weather is nicer and maybe by then things will be better. Not giving up just yet. Can't beat a cheap beer and taco after hours if you tried.

It claims to be handcrafted food but my bean burrito wasn't as described, ingredients wise, and was made with stale canned beans. My husband left half his food on the plate. (Shocking as he eats my cooking) don't waste your money if you want a taco; go to the Taco Spot on the Boardwalk. You'll have a better meal and better view.

We travel the U.S. in our RV and were here a couple years ago. This place was a favorite then. The tacos were always good and the service was consistent. Fast forward. We came back in the area a few weeks ago and have been here three times since we got here. The first time the service was horrible. The food was mediocre. Not very hot and I didn't get everything I ordered. Gave it another shot. The food was hot. The drinks were strong and the service was great. Last night we went again. (We come back for the Korean short rib. If it wasn't for that I think we might've given up by now) The place was busy. It was Saturday night. We were seated quickly and Jesse was our server. We had drinks. Ordered our food. And waited. A really long time. He told us the fryer oil was being changed. So no chips. Or hard shell tacos. I can't have flour. We waited some more. 45 minutes. Food came. No Mexican corn. He subbed an extra taco. I gave it three stars because I want to believe they can get back on track. But three stars for last night was a stretch. My man says we are done. I'm disappointed. It's been a favorite place for us. Jesse did a great job. But it's just not worth the gamble.

Best tacos ever! They were honestly delicious and the meat was legit. I got the carnitas. I met Ryan the new GM he was sooo sweet it was adorable. My calamari was overcooked and he agreed with me instead of the usual people that look at you like yours just complaining. Brought me out a fresh hot one. My friend got the fajitas and the steak was really good and the portion was pretty big. The owner was eating at the table across from us and he was pretty hot by the way haha ;) and young! The only downside I didn't think the drinks were good at all. I ordered a margarita.. They need better bartenders. It's hard to find drinks that are made well. Laziness & not fresh ingredients is usually the case. All in all I'm definitely coming back. Tacos and service was great!

It is really sad to see this place go down the tubes. Poor management, rude hostess, and had to witness an over-served homeless woman who was allowed to loiter there for 6 hours urinate on herself and then proceed to trip over and break a glass table, fall on her face, and get taken away by rescue. Definitely our last visit and will spread the word to other friends with kids- STAY AWAY!

This spot has gone downhill! We frequent this place, and have brought friends and family in from out of town. It has always been a great experience. Until recently. The food the past few times has been awful, and the service was so-so. The food wasn't hot, but it wasn't cold either. I'm sensing some time/temperature abused ingredients! The ladies look unkempt and so does the kitchen staff. The cook was wearing the same pair of gloves as he walked around the restaurant- they were dirty! Don't even sneak a peak at the kitchen or you'll end up down the block at another restaurant. The food safety and sanitation is a serious concern. Bleh.

Been here three times. First two times was a decent quality of food. I love the ambiance and for that alone I give it two stars. Everyone was friendly, service didn't take long, and it's a great atmosphere. Now for the food: When I eat at tex-mex restaurants I always order chips and salsa as it usually awakens the palate for what's to come. The chips we got were disgusting, they tasted like they had been fried in oil that hasn't been changed in weeks. The salsa was bland, lukewarm. After dumping a salt packet and mixing it with my fingers trying to salvage this appetizer nothing helped. I kept tasting the nasty aftertaste of oil and garbage. The salsa had no "brightness" to it. Nothing that makes you think "oooo that's good". Disappointed I ordered another beer in hopes that the tacos would be the saving grace. And they were! The beef taco was delicious. So was the Korean short rib taco. So was the chicken taco! Even though they arrived warm the flavor was spot on. I would recommend ditching the chips and salsa and just sticking to the tacos. Edit to answer question: Saturday around 4pm I think.

Local fave. Our server, Dustin rocked and Jessie the bartender aced it :) A few things: Chips were cold and are store bought. Salsa was mostly a tomato sauce consistency with no jalapeños and I think you all need to come up with a kickass Sangria instead of what you serve. I had to improvise and refresh the Sangria since it's my specialty in making. I will be back!

I love this place. We eat here almost every time we come to Hollywood Beach. The Korean short rib tacos/burritos are amazing! They usually have live music... which I generally like... although it can be loud if you are sitting right in front. The seating is kind if jumbled and haphazard, but it kind of adds to the casual, beachy ambiance. The last time we were there, some guy (maybe the owner or GM?) randomly came by and gave our kids some toys, which we thought was nice. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Some comments say the service is bad, but I've never had any problems there and last time I thought the service was pretty good if anything. Highly recommended.

We had dinner here on Taco Tuesday and didn't know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised! The food is pretty good... We had the Korean tacos and the shrimp tacos with mango salsa! If you are looking for Mexican at a good price and good atmosphere this is the place! The people were very friendly and the food came out quick!!

This was a place we ate at about 3 times a week. Notice how I say 'was a place.' By default this is a place that is open late so we frequently eat here since it is good and made on the spot and not a fast food grease pit. Unfortunately their service and desire to make money is not their priority. A week ago my husband and I went to eat and waited to be seated. The waitress came to us land said "the kitchen is backed up maybe you want to come later or tomorrow." Sunday night 9 pm in a location that states they are open late. It was really loud so I wasn't sure I heard what she said and kept walking to sit down. Needless to say in a place that seats about 100 or so people their were less than 25 people in the entire place. A different waiter came over to serve us ( short built guy who use to work the bar) his service and promptness of the food was great. Then the evening of the Fourth of July we had some friends over from Miami. Earlier in the day they mentioned eating at Rocco's Tacos on Las Olas. I mentioned Taco Shack as a place that has pretty good food. As we were leaving my home and the group shared they were hungry we decided on this place, what an embarrassing mistake. We walked in to sit down and a waiter approached our group and said 'the kitchen is backed up and he can not serve a group more than ten.' I said well technically we are two groups and we have a hungry 9 year old if you can't feed the adults feed the kids (ages 9-18). Four kids. He said no. I got up to speak to the manager while the group looked at their menu and the manager said he would check with the kitchen. The manager came back and said sorry he tried to convince the cook to open and he refused. I was totally embarrassed and shocked that a business who states they are open late would turn away a party of 11 especially when they have seen us their before and know we are very good tippers. (About 20%). Well unfortunately they have lost my business. There are too many places on the beach to select from, for this restaurant to feel they have options to turn people away service especially kids who were excited to eat there. Shame on them. My new tip would be: The manager should've gone to the kitchen and assisted if necessary. This owner may want to look at his service personnel and train them on customer service or they may not be around too long. Good luck.....

This is a great casual taco place! They offer great tacos and quesadillas. There is an excellent handmade pico de gallo. If you are looking for a relax atmosphere to enjoy a variety of tacos ranging from traditional ground beef to a fusion flavor stop in you will not be disappointed. I recommend trying the cinnamon crunch shot it combines cinnamon whiskey with horchata which combined tastes like the milk left over from a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch (yes this is a good thing).

Hollywood Fl is a community trying to make peoples lives better. One terrible sore thumb is the revolving door of profit focused "business people" who require hate and anger to motivate their activities. Taco beach shack is a prime example of the depth a human can fall to within a society of fluid luxury. The staff takes pleasure in ruining your night. In fact, I doubt they could stay awake to work if not fueled by contempt for themselves and others. Hollywood Fl is a good place to live, we have a med school, a dental school, and grad degree programs in health and teaching. We are a spiritual center as well, for those harmed through no fault of their own. We are trying to reorient business like taco beach shack so they become a helpful part of our community. Please do NOT support taco beach shack!! Mae H, your superficial, copied and pasted apology is humiliating. Everyone who reads that is embarrassed that you lack even the decency to write a sincere apology.

We came here on Cinco De Mayo. It was crowded. They have really good food. I had the Carnita tacos combo. It was great. I loved it. My wife had the grilled mahi. I liked mine better. They had a Mexican band since it was Cinco De Mayo. It was fun. I would come back to this place.

Was at Taco Beach last year - for 4 visits during our two week stay. Went back tonight after newly arriving in Hollywood Beach because we hoped they still had their Monday night margarita special - but had enjoyed both the food and ambience and were prepared to pay whatever the going rate. Very happy to see by the specials notice on the tables they had $3 margaritas on Mondays! Very disappointed when we went to pay and learned they are priced over $7 unless you order food. No such proviso on the add and the server never cautioned us. I was prepared to go back for more visits on this trip but feel very misled and seriously doubt I ever will. Will certainly stop recommending this restaurant!

Do not expect anything fancy here - after all it is called a Shack. They do provide some very good tacos though! Their taco combos are paired with some of the best roasted corn I have eaten in a while. I think they sprinkle some parmesan cheese and butter - that will definitively do the trick of deliciousness. A small side of yellow rice and pinto beans are also served. Try some of their house sauces and beware that the red one is milder than the light green one. :) You will pay about 8 - 13$ for any of the combos. If you are a vegetarian there is a mushroom taco option. Note that they have 3 taco varieties: regular, corn and whole grain. We liked the place, the service and the food, but were slightly annoyed by the amount of flies that disturbed us while we wanted to enjoy our tacos. Granted its outside and located by the beach, but I believe something can be done to avoid a swarm of flies. All in all - we will be back.

I love you Taco Beach Shack and would have given you 5 stars but you took away the tofu tacos! That being said there is still some super yummy food -- and my new favorites are the baja style mahi mahi. Lovely atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating. This is a casual beachy sort of place that's great for hanging out. Parking is a bit daunting being by the beach but I've always found something without too much trouble. If I could I'd add a half star for how well they handled my group the last time I was there. I brought 10 people on a rainy day and they made a space for us that was under a cover and gave us separate checks with ease. Overall, great place for drinks with great food and a fun, laid back atmosphere :)

Great chill spot! Our server, Julie, was really nice and made us feel at home. (Not from around here) The food was amazing! We had the shrimp tacos and shrimp burrito. The margaritas were priced good at $3 each (for a small cup) and there was even a live performer. Good spot!

My gf and I were recently in the Hollywood, Fl area and she suggested we go there because we both love a good taco. Well, we were not disappointed at all. We ordered the short rib with kimchi e and it was so delicious. We also got the steak and it was really good as well. The chicken quesadilla was pretty good. We had Jesse as our server and he was incredible. Definitely an asset for this company. He checked on us regularly and made sure to offer us other selections that he thought we would like. He recommended the corn which was amazing and a fabulously tasty calamari taco. He was really a breath of fresh air. Definitely not the norm for South Florida. He really seemed like he cared that we had a good time and came back too. Kudos to you Jesse! We will see you again soon!

I can only give 4 starts, as they really need to add another restroom. One single unisex bathroom for a restaurant this size isn't enough, The food is great and always tastes fresh. My wife and I came in recently on a Wednesday night for the taco combos (love the corn). We had great service from Scott who greeted our table and already had a bowl of water for our dog! Make sure you try their hot sauces. Very good stuff.

Love this place. I've been here at least 10 times and am actually on my way there now. Hate to see all those negative comments saying Chipotle or Moes is better. No way! You can not compare that precooked stuff laying in pans of grease to this, Everything is always fresh. The carnita nachos are to die for. Their beer is always cold. Also, the sangria is really good. The atmosphere is great. Service is always great. What seems like the owner to me is very polite and very hands on with everything going on. One of our regular places to go on beautiful days!

My girlfriend and I were visiting Hollywood Beach as a mid-week getaway and the only bar open after 12 was Taco Beach Shack. We had a blast! The food is good and the drinks seemed fairly priced. My first time here on Taco Tuesday and I love it! 2 for 1 tacos which equals 2 tacos for less than $5. Service was pretty good, waiter seemed a little bit out of it but he was young and got the order right so no complaints. You can't mix and match the tacos for the special but for the price and if there are two people you can figure out how to mix and match by yourself. Haven't been there on any other day but will go back on a Tuesday really soon!

Love, love, LOVE taco beach shack! I'm from New York and visit Hollywood every winter and always make an effort to stop here for lunch or dinner while I'm down there! Such a fun atmosphere and amazing food! Love the quesadillas (with that amazing cilantro sauce on top) and their roasted corn! When are you establishing a location on Long Island, New York? :)

Absolutely love this place. Great drink specials and the food (especially the sauces) are fantastic. Very laid back vibe. Only downsides are that it is mainly outside so the floors can be a little earthy and it isn't on the board walk, but other than that great great spot to chill, eat and play ping pong.

Not really a "shack", but that's not a bad thing... unless you're looking for that sort of thing. More like a lounge, which in my opinion is a good environment when looking to get away from the usual places on the boardwalk. Loved the dishes we ordered: KOREAN SHORT RIB & KIMCHI SLAW, BAJA STYLE MAHI-MAHI, and QUESADILLAS for the kids. I would definitely recommend to opt for the combination dishes vs a la carte... much more bang for your buck. Good selection of mixed drinks, margaritas and beers available... for happy hour too. Will definitely be coming back here the next time we're hungry while doing Hollywood beach.

Excellent!! We were seated right away and were offered a very detailed overview on the menu. I ordered the chicken tacos and my husband got a combo of steak and Kim chi. The roasted corn was amazing! Great service, try to get Susie as your waiter! The only thing that would make this place better is if it had a view of the ocean. Still, it's only a short walk away. If you are visiting Hollywood, this place is a must!

If you like spice, get an extra side of their mayo based habanero sauce, it's the best sauce I've ever had. Be warned that it has a lot of heat. Good tacos, free ping pong, good spot.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!! amazing fresh food wonderful drink specials and live entertainment. The service is always great! We love Rozie. She is so pleasant and happy! Not to mention it's right by the beach! The parking is a pain in the but during a weekend afternoon but that isn't there fault. It's worth the struggle. During a week day it isn't as bad. My favorite thing to eat is the grilled mahi tacos. The Korean BBQ tacos are also wonderful! They're all great. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

I seem to be on an unplanned little quest to get Hollywood, FL back on the map - or at least on the radar of places to explore other than the usuall FLL/MIA suspects. Reason #- I've lost count- to check out Hollywood-- . Korean short rib kimchi tacos. This little place is tucked away on a side street off the beach, near one of the big beach parking lots. So parking is not an issue - and neither is enjoying a perfect, casual, flip-flo- wearing surf-side lunch or dinner, or a cold beer and a snack. After a long walk and workout on the beach, my boyfriend suggested we endulge in some tacos and beer. (I love that guy.) So he took me to this place and I could only wonder why it had taken us so long to come here together. The place is all outdoor - large seating area with comfy couches to lounge along with tables and a counter/ bar area -- lots of places to hang. It is attached to a little motel so I suppose the space also caters to the guests who stay there, but it looked like everyone was there for the tacos and burritos-- and they are awesome. Our waitress waxed poetic about the Korean short rib kimchi taco - and rightfully so. It was just perfect - tender, spicy, rich, crunchy - mini orgasmic. The mahi taco - lightly battered in panco bread crumbs (baha style) was almost as earth moving. Cold beers, including some harder-to-find mexican beers like Sol and Pacifica, home made sangria, and fresh margaritas are also on the menu accompanying the burritos and salads, quesidillas and mexican pizza. Oh- and they serve this yummy fire roasted corn on the cob - perfectly flavored- a real treat. They have different specials going on during the week, but even with no specials on the day I came, I thought the prices were great - $10 for 3 tacos plus very good sides. The portions are not huge, but I think that's a good thing. I am destined to be a regular even though I don't live in this hood - my taste buds and love of the laid-back and orgasmic will lure me back.

good laid back atmosphere. not the cleanest. the food is average here. had the pork tacos, good crunchy shell, tasty meat, but 11$ for 3 tacos and 2 tablespoons worth of rice and beans is over the top. margaritas are decent, nothing special 3$ on Monday

This place was a gem. Techno music blasting at 3pm, delicious sangria, and fantastic loaded nachos. Guy serving us was pretty cool too. Random aside: WHY does LA not have amazing loaded nachos? Can we not take nachos seriously? Because, FL certainly does. And they are freakin' amazing there. Come on LA...

Great tacos! My baha mahi tacos were a little too fried but the flavor was perfect. I added habenero cream sauce which definitely kicked it up a notch. My boyfriend REALLY enjoyed the brisket and Korean short rib tacos... too bad I don't eat beef because all of his salivating had me a little jealous. Looks like we'll be back for sure.

We have been going to TBS for several years and unfortunately have noticed a significant decline in not only quality of the food, but the service and setting. On a recent visit (granted, it was a busy monday night --MLK holiday), the "hostess" was extremely rude when we sat down at a table for 4 and she made us move to a table for 2, even though there were several couples sitting at tables for 4 or 6. Her excuse was that "they were waiting for friends to arrive". But in the hour that we were there, no friends ever arrived. The table that we were seated at was at the doorway of the kitchen and near the bathroom and the smells that were coming from both areas was very unpleasant. When the food finally arrived (we had been warned that it would take over an hour to receive the food--really? How long does it take to throw some nachos together?) There was no cheese on the nachos--they ran out. So we ate chips with salsa and a few strands of dried out pork. We went again last week and usually the nachos are very generous--chips, salsa, cheese, meat of choice, sour cream and guacamole--but this time, no sour cream, no guacamole, and a handful of chopped chicken (less than an half cup)--and we had ordered the carnitas, not the chicken. I love their Margarita Mondays, but the place has deteriorated so drastically in the past few months, I probably will not return.

Found this place by accident, but so glad we did. Had awesome taco's and our waiter, Mike, was very friendly. The atmosphere was very laid back and there was live music while we were there. Looking forward to spending another afternoon there after a hot day at the beach.

i've been here 4 times i think, overall i'm a fan. i would recommend coming during the day when parking isn't terrible. maybe after the beach which is walking distance. if i'm craving it on the weekend, i just drop the idea based on the parking alone. tacos are reasonably priced and so so good. i actually prefer sitting at the bar here because every time i do the bartender is always super friendly and nice (not in an awkward way at ALL) both times i sat at the bar my group and i received free pina coladas and had great conversation with the staff. however, when i sit anywhere else, the staff is so overwhelmed that nothing is timely at all. i once had to walk up to our server and physically and him my card and ask to pay right then and there because our table was waiting 20 minutes for just the check. it was very busy so i forgive that time, but still i think they should staff an extra server on those busy times to avoid those types of situations. not thrilled with their margaritas, or the parking situation but the food and bartenders make this place worth visiting.

Found my new hang out spot. Good food, good music, great service. My friend invited me to Taco Beach shack to celebrate her new job. All of her co-workers were there, plus their crew. Our waitress was awesome (shout out to Rosie), she did really good taking care of us. Love their Taco, was really good and was not over priced. Chill music, good vybe. Bringing all my friends and family here.

Cool spot to grab some outdoor beers or their killer red (they have white as well) sangria! I think the joint is a hit, especially now that the weather is changing. I visited most recently on a Taco Tuesday, this was my 3rd or 4th visit and this is the first Yelp they are copping. :-) Love the food. It is 2-4-1 Tacos (Mushroom Taco is a home run!) and beerskis in Tuesdays, so a couple of tacos and 16 ounces of beer is about 8 bucks without tip. SCORE! Their pepper salsa is cool. It is a cuisied version of a their own homemade sauce. It purportedly has 7 peppers in it, in an olive oil base along with cilantro, lime, and perhaps a hint of gar-LEEK! Mmmmmm! The service sucked, I had to walk to the counter, but that changed at 6P.

I just can't get enough of the tacos here! Baja fish tacos, beef, carnitas korean short rib, you name...I have tried it. My ultimate favorite is carnitas, something about how they cook the meat and combined with the spicy creamy hot sauce is just amazing. At times the service can be slow, but that's what cold beer, margaritas, live music and sunshine are for. The corn is delicious and although I haven't tried the quesadillas, I hear they are delicious as well. I have been sampling various taco places throughout Broward, and this is by far my favorite. Make sure to try out the margaritas (go with the original and not the flavored). This place is great for families too since kids can play on the ping pong tables.

I get this area is touristy, but $3.75 for the cheapest taco is a little loco. Salsa was $1 extra and the soft tortillas were rock hard. Their website says they are well known for the food and the atmosphere, but I'd say only for the atmosphere. Great outdoor seating and activities like ping pong, but I wonder how busy it is in the rain. Never the less, the tacos need improvement.

Nice place with excellent outdoor seating. Korean tacos were awesome, and we took advantage of the $1 Tacos and $2 Bud's from the late night happy hour menu. Live music was cool, just wish it went a little longer than 10pm. Great spot to chill and munch on some great food.

The service is horrible. Three tables at lunch and it took 45 minutes for tacos. The food is way over priced. The short rib taco is good and different but the ground beef taco was bland and boring, not even better than Taco Bell..at 4 times the price! We will never go back, there are far too many restaurants that actually deserve the business.

Taco Tuesday! Two for one tacos, get soft corn carnitas and chicken are the best. Gourmet flavors and nice beachy atmosphere though it's a block off Hollywood Beach.

Went for date night yesterday with my husband and I am officially addicted! Rarely do I go to a place and "ooh" and "aah" everytime something is brought out to me. First off, we sat right at the entrance and learned our waiter would be the bartender. I was kind of worried we weren't going to be given as much attention as a regular waitress but i was pleasantly surpirsed. He popped up within 2 minutes of us sitting down and got us started with drinks. Even though he was running around doing a billion things he was always very attentive and prompt! Our pitcher of Blue Moon was out in minutes and ICEY COLD BEER is the way i like it. That alone earned them massive points to be an outside place (in a humid location!) and have colder beer than half the chain restaurants i go to. He also brought us orange slices immediately when we requested. My husband ordered the Baha Mahi Mahi burrito and i ordered the Baha Mahi Mahi hard tacos combo. We also ordered the chicken nachos. Not very long later the nachos came out and OMG they were like eye candy, seriously. The chips were thick and tasted fresh and non-greasy. This made the perfect vessel for the MOUNDS of guacamole, sour cream, beans, chicken and jalapenos. I had to force myself to stop eating all the nachos so i would have room when the entrees came. Once again my eyes lit up at the delicously fresh looking food being brought to me! His burrito (pictures included) was gigantic and after having a bite i can confirm it was A++ fresh delicousness. My taco's were also non-greasy with giant, fresh fish chunks with super crunchy, fresh cabbage. The rice was cooked perfect, the beans were exactly what i expect from someone who knows what they're doing, and that parm corn was the icing on the cake. All in all the service was excellent. The manager did rounds and checked our table with a great smile and friendly vibe. Our waiter was on top of things, prompt, personable and constantly cleared our table of unnecessary garbage in the way. I don't think i need to go into how awesome the food was again, LOL! I'm definitely bringing some friends back soon and grabbing a cabana! I hope they get used to my face :)

So, I hate to give a negative review, but this place did NOT meet expectations. Don't get me wrong, the service was great and it seems like a cool environment, but the food? Yuck! I ordered chips + salsa and the grilled mahi tacos combo. The salsa was literally the consistency of water with maybe 3 pieces of tomato at the bottom. Needless to say, it was tough to get any on the chips. Then my meal came out, and it looked like cafeteria food. The beans and rice were each served in tiny condiments cups, and it was all in a plastic tray thing like, as I said, a cafeteria. Then before setting the food on the table, the waitress noticed there was some "liquid" on the tray...and there, right at the side of the table, she stopped and tilted the tray so a large quantity of liquid could drip to the ground!!! When I picked up the first taco, it too drizzled liquid everywhere. Like, a lot more than you would expect to come out of a grilled fish taco. I mean, I know it's humid and things sweat here, but come on! All in all, the food was unremarkable. It's so easy to make amazing Mexican from scratch but they seemed to cut corners, and I don't know what the story is with all the nasty wetness. I was most disappointed because I had been contemplating making fish tacos at home but decided to come here instead, and I could have done a way better job.

After a long day of hanging out on Hollywood beach boulevard and swimming in the ocean this is the best place to go. Tucked off of the boulevard and is one of the nicest "shacks" I've ever been in. Majority of the seating is under a canopy with some couches and lounge chairs scattered around as well for maximum comfort. We sat at a table near the bar and server station but had to move one table over since we were sitting on a bit of a slope and the table was uneven. This location also has a couple of ping pong tables which is a great thing to do after you have consumed a few of their delightful red or white sangria's!!! The Korean short rib and Kimchi tacos were truly excellent but for me the highlight was the 12hr smoked brisket taco. Wow just wow this taco had the most incredible flavor and taste. I don't usually eat fish tacos but this place does fish tacos right, with small battered pieces of mahi mahi with the usual toppings. The salsa and cilantro cream were the perfect amount of heat and taste to accompany any taco. The service was excellent and really were polite and on top of things making sure we were having a wonderful visit. After several sangria's and 5 tacos along with three games of ping pong it was time to go but I really didn't want to. My guess is that I will be back in a week or so.

Fan-bloody-tastic. The only thing that could make this place better would be a) if it was actually by the beach and not 25 yards from it & b) it their hot sauce was hot (if you check my past reviews you'll see that this is my normal complaint & should not put you off). Lovely, friendly, staff. Huge burrito's. Nice looking taco's. Decent priced draft beer. Reggae in the background ("Night Nu-ur-ur-urse"). And corn that's burnt (burned). We popped in on a Wednesday night after a rainstorm so it was empty except for a bloke who looked like a regular then a whiny New York couple came in. The woman pointed at Mooncat's corn on the cob & asked "Do you have that type of corn here?" (a bizarre question considering we were sitting by the kitchen eating corn off of the baskets the restaurant gave us). "Yep" said the Server. "Well, I don't want any". We will be back. And often. But in future I will be bringing my ghost hot sauce to add to their own.

Good food. Our experience got off to a bad start. We were initially greeted by a very rude manager (6/16). She essentially scolded us in front of everyone for not calling ahead. She was panic stricken by our large party (14 people). The restaurant was not busy by any means, it was mid afternoon, it looked wide open. We really felt like we were imposing on her and the staff. I actually asked her if she would prefer that we leave and she backed down. Once seated, our waitress (Nataly) was great. She was calm and friendly. We ordered an assortment of tacos including ground beef, chicken, guacamole, Korean short ribs, and fish tacos. All were very good, both soft shell and hard shell. The fish was over cooked and dry. Maybe try baja style (fried) next time. Prices were fair, outdoor ambience was nice. I'd still go back, hopefully the manager has calmed down...everyone deserves a second chance.

I have been to this restaurant approximately 10 times. My first time was probably 2-3 years ago. But recently I have seen some really bad changes, the place seems to be taking on a corporate feel with lots of rules and bullshit. We called a week prior to make arrangements for a birthday party for 20 people. It took the management 3 days to just return a call. We were told the only way we could come was if we purchased their buffet at 14.95 pp. We were not interested in that "deal" and decided we would forego sitting together if that was the only way they could handle us. the waitress was rude and disinterested and told us "no separate checks, only one check per table, its our new rule" . we all sat at separate tables and BTW we showed up at all different times between 7-8pm. The fajitas were OK but without the tortilla holder the tortilla were cold quickly. The guacamole tasted spoiled to me, this was a first, I always get the guac. After dinner we went to the couch/tent area to finally get to spend some time w the group we were there for. We weren't at the dinner tables for very long, probably an hour tops and we spent a lot more than $14.95 a person . Also an automatic gratuity of 18% was attached for a party of two, another new rule. The tables in the couch/tent area were dirty. The waitress entered and picked up the check holder that was on the table n left the empty glasses, beer bottles and dirty ash trays. I cleaned the table myself so we had room for the cake that we had permission to bring. We were never asked again if we wanted drinks coffee or anything else. So once we were able to spend a little time together we headed out after celebrating a 60th birthday of a good friend. Unfortunately after leaving I received a call from the "hostess" telling me that they were approached by the general manager and told "thanks a lot for ruining our night, do not ever come back here again". My feeling on this is if your restaurant and kitchen can't handle an extra 20 people on a Saturday night you have a really big issues as a restaurant. We were not sat together as a party of 20, and we were all staggered on separate checks there's no reason the restaurant should not have been able to handle us. And to be approached so rudely by management is beyond unprofessional and not called for. I used to promote this restaurant all the time. I will never again dine there and you can bet I will never have another nice word after the rude treatment. Parking is horrible too. To the owners/management Mexican restaurants are dime a dozen, unfortunately you are nothing special.

This place is like a permanent taco truck with cool tables, sofas and ping-pong tables. The little bar/counter and the largely covered seating area are all exposed but under cover. It poured rain when I was there with a friend, and we were fine despite sitting at the edge of the canopy. Anyway - the food. Braised Short ribs with Kimchi tacos are fantastic! the crunch and spice of the kimchi with the sweet richness of the short ribs was top notch. I regretted getting a grilled mahi-mahi taco to go with it, even though it was so good too. I also screwed up and did not get a combo, but I did add on some grilled corn that was really delicious. Parking's a bit of a struggle if you're driving there, but if you're in that part of Hollywood, it's only a block off the boardwalk. Make sure you feed the meter!

It was the worst experience ever (Friday, July 11, 2014). Initially it took server about 10 minutes to stop by our table and that's only because I inquired. I tried to order any orange vodka behind the bar with sprite and 10 minutes later our waitress brought me a screw driver and it's not because of a language barrier her English was just fine. Ten minutes later she actually came close enough to our table so I was able to signal her to return the drink. We initially ordered chicken nachos and 25 minutes later we asked where they were so we were brought out plain nachos, no explanation given. About 40 minutes later I asked where the chicken nachos and our diner was and she said she would check. I thought she was going to say it's coming right out so at that time I requested the check. The waitress never apologized, offered an explanation it was like the twilight zone. It was the worst experience and service I had ever encountered. Would never recommend this place. It does not even deserve one star but I have no choice.

I visited Taco Beach on Feb. 4th. for dinner with the fam. Nothing fancy here, the vibe was cool, Taco Tuesday, live band and plenty of space for the kids to run around in. The Baja Fish Taco's and the Chicken taco's were great and the menu definitely has plenty of options. Service was ok, waiter was friendly and all was good. I left happy and already making plans to come back. 2 day's later I noticed that they had overcharged my CC by $15 and called to have it fixed. no big deal I assumed. I was told to call back and speak to a manager which I did, he then told me that this would have to be reviewed by another manager or maybe their controller?? and I may have to wait a week... ok. someone would call me back. I called back a few days later and told my story again, this time I was referred to a Peggy or Pam at another number who would help. called there and spoke to another guy, told my story again and was assured he would personally have her call me. another day passes I call Taco Beach again, tell my story and was told that someone would call me back... finally got a call from a Gentleman who is also the host/manager and pretty nice in person. I tell him my story and receive a complete, "what's the big deal" vibe from him. He gives me the same story about having to look into it. It's now Feb. 16th and they still have my $15 bucks. I disputed the over charge with my CC and got credited via my bank. Unfortunate really, due to really poor service recovery I won't be back. but if you do try the Baja fish taco's and pay cash.

Hands down one of the best places for fish tacos in south Florida. The staff are always friendly and their food is just delicious. Can't beat that it is just steps away from the ocean too. They keep everything fresh and REAL, which I can always appreciate.

WOW its been 2 years since my review of this place and they are still in business. Hey more power to them. I usually know how to pick winner and loser restaurants but this time I guess I failed. I'm only human. I still will never go back. And in my opinion its got to be the alcohol.

I really like the idea of Taco Beach Shack. Really, I do. But it's just not working. I've had this place in my yelp bookmarks forever, and my friend and I have been dying to try it. We had nothing better to do on Sunday so we decided to head to Hollywood and give it a try. Parking was tough. The lot is narrow and we ended up parking a block or so away and paying about $4 to park for 2 hours. My friend didn't think we'd be there two hours.... But we were. Just about that long because service here is horrible. Let me dish about the good stuff first. When we came in, they had an ATM machine right in front. I didn't ask if they took cards, but I didn't see a Visa logo anywhere, so it was convenient to grab some cash. There is a counter with a bar and a huge menu on the wall next to it, and then a patio with some tables and chairs. Just past the patio, there is sand. Yep, it's like walking on the beach! This was pretty cool, so we immediately grabbed a set of wicker sofas in the sand. Surrounding the "beach" are white tents with more places to sit and eat and a huge projection screen in the corner. This would be an awesome place to come on a beautiful sunny day, grab some tacos and beer, and watch a game. Ok, so it would seem that this should be like a 4 star review at this point. Unfortunately, this is where it all falls apart. 1. There were bugs everywhere. Some citronella tiki torches would work wonders and fit with the beachy theme. 2. They weren't cheap. This is an outdoor bar with food that reminded me of a casual restaurant like Lime. The food was decent, but definitely overpriced. My half quesadilla was $8 and didn't come with chips. I get the same thing and same portion at Lime for the same price, but they throw in some chips and pico. My friend's tacos were around the same price. Throw in his beer and he had a $13 or $14 tab. Oh, by the way, to add chips and salsa was like $4 or $5. 3. I think I would've been fine with the price if we had a better experience regarding service. It took a while for us to even put an order in. Our table was FILTHY and they never cleaned it. I wiped it up when they finally brought napkins. When he did take our order, he disappeared for 20 minutes. Other waiters were coming up to us asking if we needed help. Finally, our drinks came out. Another 20 minutes or so, and the food came out. We didn't want to wait any longer, so we spent most of our time trying to track down our waiter for the check. When he brought the check, it was wrong. When he came back, he fixed it but gave me the wrong change. I managed to get him back at our table and he still couldn't figure out the change he should have given me. Thank goodness I'm honest, or I would have only paid about $4 for my meal. I handed him back the money and told him the right amount to give me. He stood there looking at me, waiting for me to tell him that I figured out the right change. Wait, isn't that his job? Ugh! It was just really annoying, and the service kind of killed all of it for us. I think if the service had been good, I would have been able to overlook everything else...even the bugs. If I come back to Taco Beach Shack it will be because I have lots of time to kill.

I've only been here once but I loved it. The food was good (nothing extremely out of this world) but nonetheless yummy. I got the steak taco combo, which is also at a very reasonable price and comes with corn on the cob.I loved the atmosphere and the ping pong table and couches are good touches. Def chill place for a night of drinking and some food.

I had high hopes for Taco Beach Shack but left very disappointed. We sat in the sandy area and looked over the menu. And we sat. And sat. And sat. Finally someone came over to take our drink orders. We gave it to him, and he walked off. That was the last time we saw him for twenty minutes. Between then, we had multiple other servers come by and ask of we had been helped yet. We told then we has been but we had been waiting a while for our drinks. Finally he comes back, with the drinks, an takes our order. I get the three chicken tacks combo, which came with rice and beans for ten bucks. Food came out and was unimpressive. The sides came in tiny little solo cups, maybe two ounces. The tacos were overflowing, but with cabbage. Very little of anything else. This is what I got for ten bucks? Taste was average once I took a half pound of cabbage off the taco, and finished the meal quickly. I was still hungry. The server messed up the check and we had to wait on that too. It should not take two hours to have a beer and a few bad tacos. Liked the atmosphere but sadly I will not be returning.

Me and my girlfriend went here for drinks. Service was great and although we didn't eat, the food looked amazing and that's half the battle right? Great drinks! Prices were not cheap but it wasn't a happy hour time and there was a game on. The only issue we had was we went a few hours after it had rained and when we went to find a lounge apparently we picked the wrong one because my girlfriend sat on what she thought was just a little sand at first but then she felt a horrible pain and when we looked down we realized she sat in fire ants which is a horrible experience if you haven't tried it. Two days later the bites are still all over her legs. As time goes that'll heal along with her bitterness but I'm sure we'll forgive and forget and give it another shot. Just choose your seat carefully!

I've been to Taco Beach Shack twice, and both times I've had a superb experience. Not only was Christopher P beyond friendly and attentive, but he actually remembered the exact meal that I ordered the first time when I went back the second time, over three months later! I've gotten the cheese quesadilla both times I've been, and it's truly one of the best I've had. I definitely recommend eating here for good food, good service, and good views.

OK Taco Shack, I still love you, but we visited you today after a bike ride on the Broadwalk, and we sat down. And sat. And sat. And sat. We watched one waiter taking care of a zillion people, and we watched about 6 girls in the bar area all counting change and staring at each other. It was like we were invisible. So we got on our bikes and got some apples and dates at Josh's Organic. Which is probably better for us anyway. But come on, a Corona and a Korean taco would have been bitchen'. Bad service is usually the killswitch for me...I never go back...but I will be back at the Shack. I just hope we have better luck next time.

One of my friends mentioned that Taco Bech Shack had just opened and we decided to get a group together to check it out. Unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed. We were greeted warmly by what seemed like the owner or manager, who we ordered a pitcher of sangria from. Oddly enough, table settings, water, menus, and our frozen sangria were brought over by kids who were about 10 (we're assuming the owner's, not hostel guests). Cute, but we couldn't get over the fact that we were being served alcohol by minors. They lit our tiki torches too. We ordered a variety of entrees - a notable item on the menu besides the usual Mexican fillings was Korean Short Rib with Kimchi Slaw (echoes of Kogi in LA). A while later, our food was brought out - with nothing matching what we ordered. As we found out 10 minutes later when the server (an adult this time) showed up with a tray of food that more closely resembled what we ordered, a computer glitch had messed up our order. Unfortunately, we still didn't get chips and guacamole, and there was still cheese on tacos ordered without cheese. The food was unfortunately, not exceptional. The rice was crunchy and evidently from the bottom of a pot, and of the Uncle Ben's variety as we later found out. The salsa on the tacos was unexceptional and an afterthought slathered on. The Korean short rib was tender, but over seasoned and way too salty. We really wanted to like this place - the ambiance was decent alongside the hostel. Some shortcomings include the dark seating areas on the grass (we pulled out the iFlashlight app a few times to see what we were eating), the spotty service (had to walk to the bar to get a water refill), and the food shortcomings. The manager made things right by adjusting our bill and we couldn't fault the friendliness of the people there. This place has potential, but until they get better, there are much better options for Mexican fare in the area.

A funky nice throwback Taco Stand a 100 feet to the Hollywood Broadwalk. It has pretty good food and a great feel...especially when the band comes out. I like this place.

loved this place, the food was great, servers where amazing and fast all of there recommendations where spot on! we took our 1 year old there and she even loved it! The waitress was so nice with her and very patient! We all know that children make a huge mess when they eat, but it did not bother our waitress at all!

Nothing like having tacos on the beach right!? Well you're still a few blocks away from the sand and surf, but the taste and ambiance is right there! They have some of the best and unique tastes around inside a taco shell! One of my favorite is the Korean short rib and kimchi tacos served with a mexican style grilled corn. Just beware of the habanero hot sauce, it'll get you!

Ambiance: 4. Plenty of cozy, lounge outdoor seating, and a short walk to the beach. TVs inside only. Parking's a pain. Cost: 4. Pretty standard South Florida beach prices. I think it came out to maybe $20 bucks a head with drinks and healthy portions. I'd consider this "price is right" territory given location, great seating arrangement and good food. Food Quality: 4. Parmesan corn on the cob. Parmesan corn on the cob. Parmesan corn on the cob. Hopefully I don't need to repeat myself anymore, just get it when you go. They have some of the best soft tacos I can recall having on the east coast -- tried the carnitas (so so), mahi-mahi (solid) and short rib & kimchi (best by far). Tons of different sauces/options, well diversified menu. Service: 2. Poor service on a Monday afternoon when it was maybe a third full. Took forever for food/drinks, anyone to wait us and the bill -- basically the trifecta. When to return: Nice day in Hollywood. Happy hour with friends. Going out with a group for a quick casual dinner (tons of comfy outdoor seating as mentioned above).

Good beer, solid tacos, great happy hour deals but happy hour starts later for those who are night owls usually not starting until around 10pm or so. Enjoyed outdoor seating with the pup and server brought her a big icy water bowl :) Place wasn't bad, gives you your taco fix, could get a bit more zesty with salsa options etc. All and all tasty and fun atmosphere.

The food was good, service was good but I get a bad taste in my mouth when they 18% auto-grat a party of 2 and the waiter did not mention it. We would have given over 20%!

Cool spot near the beach, great place to go after a swim. lots of couches to sit on and relax and have some tacos. I had the short rib korean slaw taco with the deep fried shell. It was really good. Maybe a little pricey for a taco, but I heard they have Taco Tuesdays, you get two for the price of one. you would have to call to confirm that I guess.

no free chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant? serious bad start for me...i ordered the chips with the salsa and guacamole anyway because of so many great reviews here of the the guac...clearly i have different guacamole standards then my fellow reviewers because this guac sux...almost flavorless and really looked like the processed stuff in the grocery store with one exception, i've had better guacamole from the local grocery store in a larger portion, but maybe the small portion was a good thing. on top of that the chips were nearly stale and many chips in the basket weren't fully cooked. we were tempted to finish our drinks and move on but i had been looking forward to taco beach shack for so long...maybe i just had a bad basket. i had to try the Korean short rib and the 12 hour brisket tacos...Michelle Bernstein's show raved about them. :( bad choice. the Korean shorts rib tacos were ok, but the kimchi was flavorless. the brisket was just awful. 12 hours? more like 12 minutes and probably in a microwave. the brisket was hard little chunks of who knows what, for sure it wasnt brisket...i couldnt eat it. the wife had the mahi tacos and she thought they were ok but not a home run. at least there was live music... do yourself a favor, pick another Mexican restaurant. i'm not going back.

Been here several times and I love it. The corn of the cob with parmesan cheese is the best I have ever had! The carnitas is delicious! My favorite though is the mexivan pizza with Korean BBQ and slaw. YUM! Parking can be a pain but once you get there you'll be sitting in cozy, plush chairs on the sand. You can play ping pong while you wait for your food and its only a couple of blocks from the beach! What more can you ask for!

Excellent!!!!! All there is to say. Do not second guess coming here. I recommend with a group getting different taco platters and sharing. Too good to eat all the same tacos. Short ribs is spicy......be forewarned but, gooooooooood!

The food at Taco Beach Shack is great. It's full of flavors, textures, variety, fresh crunchy veggies and aromas. The short rib and kimchi tacos are out of this world. The roasted corn and even the rice and beans are good. Just hope you don't get the server with short blonde hair. She told me that she was extremely busy and could not talk. She took the drink order and food order at one time and we never saw her again. It wasn't even that busy. She may want to remember that not everyone that goes here is a tourist. Service matters. I'll return but look to sit in a server section where the server may be able to talk a minute to complete the experience that goes along with good food.

The Korean short rib tacos are great, so were the soft shell crabs, which they no longer have on the menu. There are some problems however. Their pricing, altho not really pricey, just doesn't make sense. Tacos here, the short rib anyway(the only taco left worth eating here), are $5 and change each but the platter where you get 3 plus rice and beans and corn are around $12. I don't really like their rice, beans or corn but it just doesn't make sense to pay $15 for three tacos ala carte, so end up wastefully getting this platter that i don't eat. It's an illogical, hollyweird kinda place for sure, as can be immediately determined by their signage which boasts a variety of identities: "Beach club", "Taco Bar" etc, and i'm not even sure if it actually says "Taco Beach Shack" on anything other than the menu. I've tried some other things here like the brisket and mahi, bother were poor examples of each.. the mahi terribly dry. Considering I can get massive good quality fish tacos at Zona Fresca for nearly half the price per taco, as much as I like the short rib, I don't think I'll be venturing back here anytime very soon. Disappointing. Oh and the music is horrible, especially when its live.

The food is good and the atmosphere is fun although it is a block off the beach and out of sight of water. A great place to eat and wile away the day but it can get a bit hot if your sitting outside.

Had lunch today! Was delicious! Loved carnitas tacos, black beans, rice, and grilled corn. PLEASE share recipe of habanero hot sauce, the best hot sauce I have ever tasted, my table of 3 used 3/4 of a bottle!

I really liked this place, an odd combo for lounge chairs and tacos but it worked. The tacos were awesome. The manager even came by to ask us how we were doing, which doesn't happen a lot anymore and is much appreciated. The only thing that I didn't like was the level of the music. It was like 5pm and the place wasn't full and the music was pretty loud. For that kind of setting I would have preferred something softer.

  • Denita G.

Food was good, $2 late night happy hour margarita was definitely worth more than $2, service was a little slow (not very busy), waitress never came back to check on drink refills or if we needed anything after food was delivered. Steak tacos & quesadilla were very good and the carnitas (pork) taco was excellent!!! Will definitely come back again!

Don't know what happened to this place. This joint used to be the best...The Korean BBQ was so dry & salty it was not good at all ( that used to be the best thing on their menu) The fish was so dry it was inedible ( they asked us if we needed boxes because we ate barely nothing ...it was so bad no boxes necessary)....The old cheese sauce was much better before...They changed it for some reason & I MUST agree with K.S & Brian G... since the management has changed this place went WAY down hill... NO WHERE on their menu do the state that they charge for sauce...they NEVER did in the past & now they charge .99 sauce, salsa,Guacamole( that's even more of an up-charge)...They just give it to you & charge you for it...NO ONE tells you . Take My advice go to the TACO SPOT on the boardwalk...NOTHING has changed there & it is SO much better.... don't know why this place changed a great thing but it really stinks now...Talk a lesson from the TACO SPOT ...if it isn't broke don't fix it...Giving then 2 stars because their staff is great but the food really has gone way down...what a shame.

Fantastic spot! The food, drinks, and ambiance is perfect for any afternoon or evening get-together with friends. We had wonderful tacos and salads with delicious margaritas as we listened to a great performer with a guitar. John Long with his kitchen and waitstaff provided us with a wonderful meal and experience. We will definitely be back.

Another gem I'm not sure too many people are aware of. Taco Beach Shack has some of the greatest Mexican food I've had in a long while. The taco shells are golden and crispy, and just FEELS right (in my mouth). Not overpriced and you can sit outside in whatever the hell you're wearing! Nice, comfortable, great food, and very amicable environment. The only downside would be they only offer wine-based alcoholic beverages and beer.

Eat here when in Hollywood. It's a requirement. Screw le Tub and its hype. This place is filled with plush chairs and cozy tables. The best part are evenings; the Taco Shack often has live bands, and when they don't, challenge your sexy partner to a couple rounds of ping pong on the house! You have to ask the bar and leave a deposit of $5, but it's a blast and you can play as long as you wish. Beers on tap include Sierra Nevada, Kona and a few other deliciously stellar crafts. Great way to start, and they have large cups and 2-for-1 happy hour specials. Okay, what I am going to tell you next, you must trust in me to follow. Kimchi short rib anything. Order it. That is all. Savory, sweet, smoked, juicy, amazing. Whether it's the taco or burrito or what have you, it's worth every penny. However, if you so choose to deviate from the chosen path, ask for their hot sauce. They have a red sauce and a white sauce, and they both have my tastebuds salivating at their very mention. Great with the mahi burrito (I wish there was more fish) or their carnitas quesadillas (tres parfait with a cilantro cream sauce drizzled on top). Entrees come with roasted corn (sweet as off a Midwest stalk, succulent and dusted with parmesan) and rice and beans. Parking in Hollywood on their streets can be a bit hectic on beach days/high season, but suck it up and avoid the crummy Hollywood boardwalk food. you'll thank me later. ;-) I can't wait to make it back for karaoke sometime soon. **also, I have no idea what a different reviewer is saying about the bathroom; when I went, it was clean and spacious. Maybe remodeled?

Taco Beach Shack will STEAL YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER and charge you multiple times throughout the month. I went with three friends on May 4th, and three out of the four paid with different cards. We weren't charged until the 16, and then again on the 20, on the 22, and on the 31! My favorite part is that even though they physically had my card, my bank says they have been running it on the number alone, which means someone there wrote down my number without my authorization. Don't even try calling a manager to get the problem resolved; I've called twice a day for two days now, have only been able to leave a message for a manager, and never have had a phone call returned. You will just have to go straight to the police. Moral of the story: there are a million just-as-good-if-not-better places to eat around Hollywood Beach that won't turn around and STEAL FROM YOU. And if you have eaten there recently, I would recommend checking your bank statement!

Cool, fun, casual place to have tacos burritos or quesadillas. The taco I had was fantastic. delicate fish grilled to perfection. The cabbage added a nice crunch the creme was perfect and their hot sauce ohh the hot sauce. Yesss! Their motto is keep it spicy and the hot sauce is a must try. Doesn't burn out the flavors adds to the taste of the taco. It's a green chili hot sauce. I loved it. The corn is fire roasted and covered with butter and parmesan. Get it! I sat at the back of the outdoor area on comfortable couches smoking a cigar talking with a good friend. It's great to be in Florida in January. Our waitress Diana was awesome and they kept saying we could stay and chill as long as we wanted even though they were closing. I cant wait to try the Korean short rib kimchi taco. I will be back soon. 32oz beer $6.00. better deal than the pitcher.

The tacos were good and the beer decently priced $6 for a big boy, but this Taco Spot must have definitely been nursing a New Years Eve hangover. We came up from the Grove in search of tasty tacos... We received the smallest guacamole ever with our chips and the Gatorade flavored ritas were a tough swallow, I switched to miller lite which had a better flavor. At this point we seriously considered cutting our losses and heading somewhere else. Please get a decent margarita recipe and make your rocks ritas homemade!!! Make your frozens homemade. There is never a good excuse to use terrible mix. The tacos took way over half an hour to come out of the kitchen. Way way way way ... way too long for a few small tacos. All small for the price but packed with cabbage or slaw if that's your thing. Carnitas was dry and flavorless, short rib might have been good but very very little rib and some sort of inedible ingredient in the slaw, grilled fish was good and better portioned and steak was actually ok. Service was friendly but a mess. You could tell the gears were not churning correctly today. If you can do it right don't open that day and risk the bad reviews. I didn't see many people enjoying the Taco Shack experience on this beautiful day. I know I didn't. That being said, the place has potential. The configuration is great for a nice day, some beer and ping pong.

Stopped by this place after getting a Groupon! Read the reviews and followed the crowd and ordered the korean short rib and kimchee burrito. I have to say, that I had to double check to make sure I wasn't at a korean restaurant. The taste was amazing. I can't say for certain there is a long wait, as I went as they opened, so there were only two other tables occupied. Def a place to try if you are in the area!

This is better than Mexican because it's not really Mexican but more like slow cooked BBQ and fresh caught grilled fish disguised as tacos. Why do they disguise this gourmet delicious food...your guess is as good as mine...maybe folks are afraid of amazing ness...a fear of success...a longing for the simple life BUT great food is simple and the slow smoked brisket is a simple and delicious as food gets. The sauces are unique and do not overpower the flavor of meats and fresh produce. They didnt have the tequila I like only beer and wine but I was told they are getting a liquor license next week and will have a large selection. ESPILON, DON JULIO, MILAGRO (if anyone's listening). I will see you taco commandos soon so stock up on brisket and avacodos because I will do some serious damage since I haven't stopped thinking about it since I left!

To put it simply, the food is amazeballs. The service is amazingly bad. I've gone to Taco Shack on three separate occasions. Each time it's taken more than an hour for my food to come out. Don't get me wrong, I get that everything is made from scratch and just caught today fresh... but if I'm waiting for my food for over an hour, at least make sure my water glass is filled. Or hook me up with some free chips and salsa. But when my food does come out, all hot and cheesy and fresh all over I'm more than happy to sit and wait for over an hour. My recommendations are; the mushroom and cheese quesadilla, the mahi mahi tacos, the carnitas burrito and the Korean short rib and kimchi slaw--which is literally a Korean short rib and kimchi slaw party in your mouth. And try their sangria. It's homemade and has loads of fresh fruit. The vibe is super chill. Wear flats, no need for heels in the sand. Also bring some hand sanitizer, the bathroom isn't exactly a porcelain palace. So in the end do yourself a favor and BYOB. I'd recommend you order the 32 OZ beer, which comes in a pretty awesome larger than life cup, but...

Every time I go for Tex Mex, I am giddy with excitement. This terrific little spot, is just off of AIA,west of the Hollywood Boardwalk. It's directly across from the rickety Billy's Stone Crab, to give you an idea as to the location. Today I ordered the grilled fish tacos. It was served with beans and white rice (You can also order the tacos a la carte). The tacos were outstanding. Fresh cabbage, delicate fish, whole wheat soft tacos, with an slightly creamy sauce. They also give you a freshly grilled corn on the cob, with the husk. Yum-Del-Ilicious! The rice was ok, and the beans, were your typical black beans. There are a variety of other items such as nachos (Yum!), burritos, and quesadillas. They also have a full bar, serving different margaritas and sangria. Outside seating is nice. They have couches, umbrellas, and even space heaters for those "cold" days in South Florida. This is a great, casual Tex Mex place. Definitely check it out if you are anywhere in the South Broward, North Dade area. And yes, the service was friendly. Enjoy!

Ate dinner at taco beach shack on vacation. Once we were seated our waitress came over and said she would be right back because she "had stuff to do." After about 10 minutes and watching her deliver drinks and food she came over and took our drink order. My husband ordered the TBS microbrew it was decent beer but served out of a plastic cup. I ordered a white sangria and it to was served out of plastic. The waitress then gave us a brief description of the menu. My husband ordered the grilled mahi mahi tacos and I ordered the Korean short rib with kimchi tacos. The mahi mahi was dry and didn't taste very fresh. The Korean short rib tacos were good but were very greasy. The rice and beans are very flavorless. I added some of the house hot sauce to give it some flavor. The corn was good. It's dipped in a cilantro pesto, grilled, rubbed with a chipotle seasoning then rolled in grated cheese. I recommend getting the corn without the cheese. After our waitress came and picked up our plates we waited almost 25 minutes for her to bring us our check. Keep in mind they were not busy, we were 2 of 6 people at the time and the waitress was sitting 2 tables away from us folding napkins. Also something they don't advertise is they charge a mandatory 18% gratuity. Which typically I have no problem paying but in this case it was not earned or deserved. Overall food is decent, nothing you couldn't make at home. Service is terrible. I will not be going back.

Starving en route to Taco Beach Shack my hopes were not high. When we arrived and I noticed the lack of outdoor seating they plummeted. But 30 seconds with Stewart, the owner and I felt at ease. Seated alongside a fire pit in comfy backyard furniture, I ordered short rib tacos topped with kimchee and accompanied by grilled corn, black beans and rice and a Blue Moon. I'm no expert on kimchee, but I do enjoy short ribs and man were these good! I didn't find them to be salty or over-seasoned at all. They were juicy, delicious and not at all fatty. Rice, beans and corn were all well prepared and service was friendly. By the end of the meal I was well fed, warm and delighted to have found another excellent taco place just a few minutes from my apartment! I'll be back soon for Juevos Rancheros!

As a self proclaimed Taco Shack connoisseur this place definately lived up to expectations. The MahiMahi Baha taco was super fresh, and absolutely delicious. Grilled corn was out of this world as well... Not much to the rice and beans and drinks were a little expensive but in line with the rest of the Hollywood dining places. Easy 3.5 - 4 stars, if you like tacos and are in town give it a shot!

  • Tyler M.

I really like that this place is different than your standard taco place. It has a nice location a couple blocks from the beach. The food was pretty good! I tried the infamous short rib tacos. I got the combo which included three of them with their bbq corn with parm cheese and beans and rice. Coming from California I was expecting re fried beans, but like I said, not your typical taco place. Anyway I was pleasantly surprised with the combination of the bbq meat and the tangy creamy sauce with salsa. Different but in a good way! The prices are so so, worth the money but nothing that great. I would like to come back on a Tuesday for their 2-1 specials. My three taco combo set me back about $14, higher than California prices. Rivals California tacos? I dont think so. Different ? Yes. Very good tacos and about as good as it gets for South Florida? Yes. Will I go back? Yes

e went here for dinner and had a few beers and tacos. The service was great and the place was busy. They had live music but it was a bit too loud. The tacos however, were perfect! I had a hard corn shell with a mushroom taco which was excellent and a piece of their "famous Parmesan corn" which was just okay. (Being from NY I am used to plump juicy corn and this one had small shriveled kernels.) My husband had a brisket taco and a beef one. He said the brisket was as good as Dinosaur BBQ who he thinks has the best brisket in the world. The next day we went back for lunch and he also tried the Korean short rib taco with the kim chi; he liked it so much he is going to make kim chi at home. The atmosphere for lunch was quieter and more our style.

A+++++++++++++++++++++ food! But SLOWEST service I have ever received in a restaurant *ever*, hence the 3 stars. There was one server tending for the entire restaurant and I felt like half the time she wasn't really serving. It took us forever to just get menus and she didn't ask us if we wanted water. But I digress, the food is truly amazing. I got the cheesy chicken quesadilla and it was oozing and dripping with cheese, it was amazing! And huge too! For $8 it filled me up but I do wish it came with some chips on the table (I feel like since they're not really paying the staff much obviously, maybe they can splurge some more on chips and salsa on the table ? Idkkk). I'd go back here again if I had another afternoon to kill, but luckily we weren't in a rush.

Incredible tacos and "everything but the kitchen sink" salads -- everything is SO fresh, from the cilantro, to shaved beets, fresh cabbage, baby greens and arugula -- and an AWESOME dressing. Their hot salsas and guacamole are unbelievable as well. The live music can be a little too loud for chatting, but the couches are very comfortable. I'd love to see some acoustic acts play there; it's a great setting and the noise levels wouldn't prohibit chatting with friends. Music doesn't have to be amplified to be great. Good margaritas too, and fantastic mojitos with fresh mint leaves. I had a margarita on the rocks, just a *little* too sweet for my taste and maybe a bit light on the tequila, but miles ahead of other margaritas I had elsewhere on the beach. If only they would do a 2-for-1 happy hour! [An important aside for margarita drinkers: The best margaritas in the world can be found at Perro Salado's in Newport, Rhode Island -- the jalapeno cilantro margarita is incredible. I would fly to Newport just to have these.]

What a great place to eat after or before heading to the beach. Tacos(with cole slaw) were really terrific. Quesadillas with beef and cheese were so tasty. Pricing is terrific. Where should I start....piece of hair on side of my cup, only one waiter on duty, extremely small portions, asked for check three times and after a long wait received it with an 18% gratuity added in, prices on check were higher than on menu and posted board. Used to be a great place - NEVER AGAIN.

So four of us are here from out of town. .. the place seems pretty chill, couches and small tables. We stopped here for lunch. The food took a while to come out, so long that we decided not to order anything else. All our tacos were cold, as was the corn. Kinda sucked. The flavors were good, kimchi taco was pretty tasty. I guess overall average. I don't think we'll be back here.

This place is fantastic. It is the perfect little getaway for the middle of the week. I loved the smoked brisket and the smoked salmon tacos. And the flan was out of this world. This is going to be my new favorite mid-week spot.

fun atmosphere- still great tacos and burritos. love the fish tacos there. where the service is lacking (sometimes you can wait for a very long time), the place is really fun. There's a ping pong table set up on the sand with cabanas. It has a south beach feel right in hollywood.

After seeing Taco Beach Shack I couldn't wait to stop and try it out. It looked like a lot of fun and they had a band playing island music. I am going to take a moment to break down my experience. Atmosphere: Very creative with the imported sand and laid back lounge area, covered patio and slide up to the window seating. Love the band added a really nice touch. Service: Not so good Most restaurants or places assign a selected area for the waitstaff so they know where there tables are and the customers can see or find there waiter if need be. That particular system makes it so so much easier on everyone. At Taco Beach it seems to be whoever is up next gets the next table which makes it very hard on the wait staff especially if you have one or two on the patio and then another out by the sand. The wait person is just bouncing everywhere not on top of any one table. I never had my person ever come back to see if all was ok. Every time i needed an extra drink after waiting awhile or a plastic cup or the check I had to personally get up and find someone or I would have been waiting whole lot longer. Food: The Brisket Taco was awesome nice smoked flavor I could have eaten just the brisket by itself it was so yummy. The Koren taco was also good great taste great sauce but small. Grilled corn nicely seasoned still cold from being first frozen then thrown on the grill. Guacamole tasteless. Value: My $7 wine arrived in 3 different ways once it was at half way in the plastic cup, then the next came less than half way and the third almost to the top. The brisket taco was $5.99 again good flavor but not enough to fill you up. The Koren was smaller and a few cents less at $5.45. All totaled I spent $60 and I wasn't expecting to pay that much there but everything is priced individually not as a platter or a lunch or dinner. If I was going to pay $60 to go somewhere there so many other choices I would have gone to. So I am glad I went I am glad I tried it but no not going back.

Cool setting. Poor service. They were out of half of the items on the menu. No Lemons, tortilla wraps, chix, etc. Saw someone pull up with a car and unload food to restock??? Is this okay with the health department ??? GOOD LUCK

Food are excellent in here.. Totally recommend Korean short ribs... Their korean's ribs are so tender with good favor. Their price is reasonable too.. The only thing is that they have only 2-3 staffs. So expect some wait when they are busy.

I had the Korean short rib and kimchee tacos. Delicious. It wasn't very crowded, probably because it was hot as balls out. The service was good. The band the brought in to play was fun and interacted with patrons. Good prices. The grilled corn was tasty.

I can see why the other reviews complain about the service... they are lacking in some waiters, but yesterday I went with a large group to watch the Heat game and it was awesome. The food was very good, the fish was grilled to perfection and the short rib familia burrito was enormous and delicious. Their pink vodka jar with blueberries and raspberries was great and you couldn't even taste the alcohol. The sangria was aright, I'd much rather go with the vodka drink. The couches outside are great, the weather was beautiful and the one waiter was very friendly. I'd just recommend for people to go there if they are NOT in a rush. But it's a really cool place and Tuesdays is 2 for 1 tacos and Thursdays is raggae night. They also put up a big screen and project sports games, so it was perfect and not too crowded so we all sat comfortably. Anyway, I'm definitely going back and I recommend the place for the food and atmosphere.

I went there on a Saturday night, there was a live band but someone was celebrating their birthday so the band seemed like it was more for them but it was nice. My boyfriend and I ordered the beef taco combo meal which was very good, he had it as a soft taco which tasted much better than the hard tacos I had, it was pretty good and we will defenitly be returning. My only problem was that my hard taco and corn were a little burnt but it was overall still delicious, it's great because its practially off the beach so after dinner we went for a late night walk, I recommend.

It's been over a year that I drive by and want to try this place, so I got the chance to stop by the other day for lunch and had the grilled chicken tacos. They were the best I've ever had. That said I had to go back and try the other varieties, so I now tried the Taco carnitas with the grilled corn on the cob. Again the taco was amazing and so was the corn except for the fact that I would of preferred it a little hotter (corn). I will now go back to try the beef taco and the mahi mahi one. I don't want to over do the eating out thing right now but I just can't wait to go back and try the other tacos. BTW as I was walking out someone had ordered a burrito and it looked amazing as well. The service is also 5 stars, on both occasions the staff took the time to explain the menu and bar specials. The have everyday specials including late night ones (10pm to 1am) $1 taco specials. Sorry for the long write up but I'm love this place.

The Taco Beach Shack is one of the best tacos places I have been too! The short rib taco was to die for & so was the guacamole! The servers were very outgoing and if I needed something they were sure to put me first and make sure I'm always happy! The music and the choice of seating is great and is perfect to come for a date or just a few friends that want to enjoy some awesome food! i recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good mexican food!

So me and my man stopped into this place while were apartment hunting on hollywood beach. At first sight the location is very inviting with a large projection screen showing sports and a tropical band playing (playing way too loud). My boyfriend almost soiled himself when he noticed they served a gallon sized beer for a good price. Well then the winds of change rolled in (literally). The winds picked up and blew sand that was on the floor unnecessarily into our eyes, drinks and possibly underwear. Then we made the mistake of ordering food. The mahi mahi soft taco arrived while i was in the rest room (scary facilities, unfortunately halloween was last week) i was horrified to find out my boyfriend had eaten the taco against his better judgement. It was sent to us cold yet he ate it hoping to be able to sue for food poisoning. I was much smarter and returned my ice cold korean short rib taco with mystery sauce (that i had asked them to please hold) . To put this review to a cold and disguisting (pun intended) end i have to say i will NEVER return there with the intentions of eating. I would return to have a beer (no liquor) with friends provided to give patrons Dune like sandstorm protection suits. Good luck to all who dare eat there. Please see my next review for a great place to eat and hang on Hollywood Beach.

Had bookmarked this place for quite sometime and thought will try it out this week. Read good reviews on yelp so was excited. Sadly, the place is a big disappointment. To start off the service is real bad. There is only one waitress who does all the running around. The idea behind the ambience of the place is good but they have gone all wrong in the execution. The tables are dirty, the cushions stink. There are bugs everywhere and seem to bite you all the time. The music is extremely loud and bad(maybe one of those days still..). The food is nothing to rave about but the quantity is good. To conclude wouldn't go back there :(

you have to try the short rib/kimchee taco..... its really good.... had a couple other tacos that were so so.... pretty cool concept, prices are a tad bit high for tacos and burritos....

The atmosphere was nice. Covered outside seating. The food was OK. The prices were a little high for what they give you. I had a grilled fish taco. $4.50. It tasted good but it only had 2 1/2 small cubes of fish. The pico was about a tablespoon's worth. No chips included. I just think if your going to charge $4.5o for one taco you should fill it up. My husband had a fish burrito. He liked it but he had a hard time finding the fish. It was $10.00. Glad we ordered the chips and salsa $3.95 because it took a long time to get our food. The salsa was fresh and it tasted good but they only give you a small plastic souffle cup.

I live in Plantation FL and when I have a little extra cash for the drive, I always try to make it out to the Taco Shack. Been there a few times and as everyone else has stated, the Korean short rib with kimchee is a complete MUST. I've had issues with spicy food before (and I've this issue with their hot sauces at the Taco Shack but solely because I was too brave with it) where there is so much heat, I don't really get a taste of the flavors of the food. Not so much with the Korean short rib....anything really, perfect balance of heat and flavor. I'm not one to comment often, I am making a Yelp account simply to comment on this place. I was not a huge fan of the ground beef but my boyfriend seemed to enjoy it. You can do little wrong there. As for the service several people are complaining about, when you walk in, there is a huge menu on a white board in front--at the very bottom it states food will take a few moments to get out because things are cooked fresh. I would rather go to the beach, a casual area, with time to relax and eat my taco and their amazing sangria than go to fast food Mexican or other places where the meats and foods are clearly frozen/old. I don't mind when the kitchen runs out because it usually means things were fresh bought. Fresh above all else. In addition, some reviewer's were calling speciality sauces "mystery sauce" they asked to be held....if you can't enjoy the whole thing, order something else you are more comfortable with instead of eating something where the culinary creation has to be ripped apart.

The Taco Beach Shack is one of my favorite places in Hollywood. The Shack has both indoor and outdoor seating with a relaxed, casual beach ambiance. The outdoor area is filled with large cushioned seating over a sandy floor. This outdoor area is used for live music or watching sports on their large projection screen. A DJ is also fairly common. Last Friday, I was able to catch the Heat game in the background while a reggae band was spilling out live music. The staff was friendly and courteous and serves up one of the best burritos in town along with a selection of beer and wine. If you are in Hollywood on a sunny beach day or a cool evening and looking for some music and good food, you gotta check this place out.

Very cool place! We went on a groupon style coupon & enjoyed 2 taco meals, sangria, beer, live band, sports on big screen. The only drawback is no liquor just beer & wine. Outdoor couches make a comfy place to chill out. Tacos have coleslaw of sorts on them & it's just delicious. Service was excellent, not overbearing but there when you needed them. Probably going to get busy with the firepits and couches...cant wait to return!

My husband and I have wanted to try this place since it opened, so when we walked by at lunchtime we thought we would stop for lunch. The waitress told us to sit where ever we wanted and after a couple tries found chairs which didn't have bird "poop" on them. Then we waited for too long when a waitress finally came over and asked if we would like menus...which seemed a little obvious to us. We ordered our food and the waitress brought our drinks. The food did take awhile, as the menu said it would, but was worth the wait. Everything was fresh and tasty. My husband had the beef burrito and I had the beef taco plate. The beans and rice were good, as was the corn, though we didn't get the butter parmesan treatment other reviewer did! However, there was no knives or forks and our waitress seemed baffled at our request for utensils. The burrito is quite large and the plastic plate was very small. So though we loved the food, the fact that our waitress never checked back with us, never refilled our sodas, didn't bring our check until we asked someone else...didn't do much for our experience. There are just too many places to eat in South Florida to have bad experiences. So we will give it one more try.....and we hope things will be better.

The food is fantastic!! The best salsa, fish tacos, rice, beans and guacamole we've tasted in a long time and we're from Southern California were fish tacos are really popular (not here so some reason?). Yummy mushroom tacos for our vegan friends. FUN atmosphere for adults and kids - cool lounging couches covered with umbrellas on a large grass yard, fire pits, ping pong tables, hard ground dining table area which is also covered. Back to the great food - don't miss this place! We love everything we've tried. They serve breakfast which we'll check out this weekend. A great place close to the beach! Please try it - the staff and service was great too!

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
