*Racially prejudiced and inconsiderate to pregnant women...Enjoy!* Today we were invited by the Toastmasters club, who meets inside Rudy's Restaurant's ballroom every Saturday. We pulled up to the Rudy's Restaurant around 9:30AM today and as we drove through the parking lot and looped in front of the restaurant looking for a parking spot we couldn't miss Mr. Joel leaning against an off-white Cadillac with a Rudy's bumper sticker on it. Aside from that Mr. Joel smoked his cigarette right in front of the restaurant he manages and owns, if you ask me, that is not appropriate on various levels but apparently Mr. Joel is the only person who doesn't get that. The last time I saw someone smoking in front of a restaurant was in the mid-80s. Now to see that happening in front of a "Country Club Restaurant"? Candidly, we never thought we'd see that. Then again if the country club management knows about it and doesn't do anything about it they are either ok with the behavior or simple don't care about its customers nor their reputation as a club. Then we start asking ourselves how did he get this job? Nepotism? Does he own the place [God forbid], or is whom ever hired him just clueless or are they hellbent on driving the place into oblivion? Additionally, Mr. Joel was deliberately gawking, gazing, sizing up, and evil-eyeing everyone who drove through in a discriminatory, prejudicial manner. We found a parking spot west of the Restaurant and then walked over to the restaurant. As we approached building, Mr. Joel starting walking from the Cadillac towards the front door [ahead of us], and this whole time as we walked behind Mr. Joel, my pregnant wife and I were unavoidably breathing in his second hand smoke as he puffed away and before he threw his cigarette out. He then went past the double doors because to the left of it there was an ashtray, which in my opinion is beyond gross and ironically I even thought about making a comment to the guy but I bit my tongue and refrained from confronting him on the matter, even though he obviously couldn't care less about us. My wife and I went into the lobby of the restaurant, then immediately noticed the Toastmasters sign to our right in an area that looked like a ballroom. As we headed over to ballroom, we hear Mr. Joel in a condescending, paternalistic, prejudicial, brash, rude, suspicious and arrogant tone ask: "Can I help you with something?" I guess the real question here is, how would you feel, react and what would you say as a rebuttal to that? Take a moment and think about it if you were in my shoes. Anyhow, my thought was, this man is being discriminatory and I don't like it but since I had my wife with me and was invited to a function there I didn't want to make the people who invited us look bad. I didn't want to tell him how I really felt. In my years growing up as a Hispanic in America, I know discrimination and prejudice behavior when I see it, but have learned to let it roll off my back as much as I can. Nevertheless, I felt that maybe he surmised we were homeless people even though we drove up in a $40,000 car [which he probably assumed and or thought I had stolen ] my response was: "We are here for the free food" just to see what his reaction would be. Now lucky for all of us I guess, an old friend and Toastmasters member came out of nowhere and interjected by saying: "Oh they are here for Toastmasters, they're with me" and one could say that things got diffused at that point. The problem was that we hadn't had breakfast and I had convinced my wife to attend this meeting because we could get breakfast there since it was held inside a restaurant. A few minutes after sitting down, my wife wanted to leave because she felt that we were racially discriminated against by how we were questioned in a very rude manner. As we drove away, my wife got more and more upset, started crying and I felt it was all my fault and decided to call the restaurant to make a complaint to the manager. Then a man picks up the phone and I said My name is Demetrius and what is your name?" He said it was Joel. I said, "Okay, Joel. I am calling because what we saw and heard today we deem inappropriate and I think you folks can do a lot better than that." Mr. Joel started interrupting me, and I asked him to let me finish and that he would have his turn. He proceeded to tell me to take my complaint and "Stick it in my rear" My next step is to publish this on every food review platform I can think of so that folks who ever consider patronizing Rudy's Restaurant can be well-informed about what to expect and they might find reasons within themselves to boycott Rudy's Restaurant and choose another location that refrains from racially profiling minorities, smoking around pregnant women and disrespecting customers.

Just a great place. The owners Joel and Stacie are always there and welcome you with friendly hello's and conversation. The food is always perfect with some surprising specials. When you go there the atmosphere, staff and clientele make you feel so comfortable you think you own the place. Once you visit you will become a regular.

Love this place! Local neighborhood restaurant on Hollywood Beach Golf course. Everything I've tried on the menu has been awesome. Hubby and I can in fairly often. Stacey and Joel always make you feel welcome.

This place has a great place tucked away with ample parking. Environment is quiet and inviting. Lots of great choices on the menu and you must definitely start off with the Fish Dip!

Terrible for lunch, do not waste your time. The food was really unimpressive and many of the employees are really annoying. Its a shame. I had a rum and coke. The glass had too much room and very little alcohol. The calamari sauces were strange, and they had lots of fried peppers as Filler. The chicken salad was not worth mentioning. The chicken was fresh and hot, which was good. But there was not much of it. The salad had sugared nuts, and they were disgusting. Also the crispy wantons were so stale and fresh, i was shocked. Really unacceptable. Ive almost never tasted such a lack of effort from a restaurant. Im not going to talk about the service, going there was a complete waste. I heard the prime rib is good but...its only available on friday after 5 pm. In short, this place seems like its not worth anyones time. Stay away.

Warm friendly owners and staff. Delicious food (especially the prime rib!) Very enjoyable live music on Friday night. A nice view of the golf course. Indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend this spot for a nice dinner in Hollywood!

Had a great experience here!! Came in with my bosses, they brought me in for dinner after one particularly successful sale closing. They come in all the time and rave about it. I honestly didn't know it existed, the sign isn't very inviting, and I used to drive by every day on my way to work. It's very neighborhood friendly, I would come here for drinks and to watch a game. It's quiet and they have a nice little banquet room in the back, good for a business conference after a game of golf, or a daytime bridal or baby shower. The service is fantastic, everyone made conversation with us. The food was actually REALLY good, and I only had chicken tenders and fries, and a slice of my boss' flatbread pizza. I would definitely come back with a bigger appetite. Reasonably priced, and a place I could be myself. So I'll definitely be back.

After reading the reviews, we decided to try that place. I can say there was some good and bad things. We like the owners very much, they made sure the customers were happy and taken care. The night we were there, it was very busy, we had reservation and they gave us a small table for two, way too small, could not even leave the wine bottle on the table, no place. They rushed our food, the server apologized, but I guess they want to turn the table over quickly. Not so great. My prime rib was looking great until I tried to cut it and chew it. It was not very tender. Potatoes were very good, normally I don't like potatoes but I ate all of them. We will try it again, and give them an other chance as they seem to be nice people. Maybe our timing was not good.

Friendly service and casual vibe makes for a nice atmosphere. I had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Chicken was tender and juicy, green beans crisp, cream gravy flavorful. Nice wine selection by the glass. I ate inside but the outdoor area looked good too. Lots of regulars coming and going, but they made a visitor feel welcome.

We found this place by accident, great comfort food. Pork Chops to die for. Nightly specials are not to be missed. Strong not expensive drinks. The parking is easy easy! Highly recommended!

Warrants the rating!! From ambiance to food to service to price, it gets an A+. The deck overlooking a small, lit pond was great. Had both entrees and happy hour appetizers and all was top chef worthy. The fact that it was located in a reasonable priced golf course and hotel made the experience even more convenient. Will definitely be back on our next trip!!
