We had dinner there last night and had a very enjoyable meal. The place is very nice, probably the most upscale restaurant on the strip, and while enjoyable, the food certainly doesn't warrant 4 stars. One reviewer mentioned Ragu sauce, and I understand where they are coming from. The spaghetti that accompanied my veal had that lingering aftertaste as if it was sauce from a jar. The musician/singer was EXCELLENT, so, for a good meal in a nice place, with good entertainment, you can't miss. But, c'mon, people, if you rate this place above 3 stars, you haven't been to any REAL NICE Italian restaurants that are truly deserving,

After walking around the area, we decided to try this place. The Cesar salad was good but not more then that. I found my salmon on the small side and over cook. Our server Louis knew the menu very good but I thought he was a bet too mush of a car salesman. I do can say that he was serving too many tables at the same time, we tried 3 times to get is attention so we could order wine, He kept saying in a minute, in minute..... He probably was able to see we were not local, so not return customers . Too bad because the place is very nice, clean bathroom, etc

Fantastic dinner and ambiance. The food was great and the service was without a flaw. Angela answered a question about an Italian dessert we had heard of but never had and she actually went to a bakery down the street and brought it to our table. ..on the house! The special Osso Bucco over risotto was amazing. We will go back to enjoy this place again and request the same waitress, Shirin.

Beyond 5 stars. I would give it a 10++++++ Honestly this is the best food I've had EVER. Everything was perfect. Very fair prices exceptional service. Everyone is so nice there, it's like your'e not in south Florida. I had my anniversary dinner there and it was amazing. They had rally good music playing, beautiful outdoor setting even the bathrooms were really nice. Definitely get the calamari, the ceasers salad is to die for, the penne a la vodka is next to homemade and the New York strip steak.

It's a shame I live far away and can't go there too often :( last time I went there I met the owner and his wife. It was valentines day dinner. A nice surprise from my bf since my last name is the same tho these ppl r not my family lol! It was a pleasant surprise in every way! Not only the atmosphere was very cozy and homely but the food was very authentic italian, service outstanding with our Colombian waiter who risked a couple of Italian words here and there, and Mr and Mrs Perrone "my family" lol were super nice! What a great night! Can't wait to go there again!

My guy and I decided to make a last-minute reservation here on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. We had spent a lot of time in downtown Hollywood but never ate here because Italian food always seemed like a generic choice. But, we loved it! Our server was excellent, very friendly and helpful, and our service was prompt and attentive. In addition, the food was fresh and tasty, from the house salad to the entrees to the dessert. The atmosphere was lively but intimate, with alternating recorded and live music outside. Overall, we had a lovely evening and will definitely be returning in the future with friends or family.

We came during lunch time so the restaurant was pretty slow. We came in a group and the server was extremely attentive and accommodating. I think that the prices here were pretty low which I appreciated since I was footing the bill. The server was very good about refilling beverages and would even give you a new one if he noticed it sitting there for awhile so it would be fresh. They give you warm rolls while you order/wait for your food. Everything about our experience was beyond what I expected and will definitely make sure I come back again

service was good, not discrete, but good. The food was less good. Very old fashioned American Italian. somethings were better than other things. The tiramisu was surprisingly not too bad but the Sea Bass must have been cooked with a pound of butter as were the vegetables it was served with. Just awful.

Wondered why the place was always packed for dinner, so I slipped in there for lunch. I've eaten at Perrone's now at least 5 times. Tried something different off the lunch menu each time. Never, ever disappointed. Best Caesar Salad (comes with the entrée), fresh, right out of the oven, breads. Chicken Parm, Lasagna, Fettuccini--all to die for. Sweet bar with a fine selection of wines and beers and you can eat at it too. Though now that the weather is changing nicely here in Hollywood, I suspect it'll be al fresco for my next lunch repast.

One of the most amazing Italian meals. Sits on a corner. Looks upscale and refined which it is inside. Yet the prices are surprisingly more reasonable than other restaurants in the area. Veal parm is $18 with delicious pasta. The service is superb. Soft music plays in the background. Italian salad dressing is amazing. Veal parmigiana is perfect as veal is breaded so thinly that the veal flavor and cheese and sauce stand out leaving a delicious taste. This is now my favorite restaurant on the strip.

I was really excited to go to Perrones as I do remember it when it was in Hallandale. Made reservations and took our out of town friends and was all set o enjoy. Bread was Delicious. Antipasto was oh soooo good. And then my dinner ended. The waiter/ chef made a mistake and I NEVER SEND THINGS BACK. So I did not eat dinner and the check was never adjusted. Everyone else did enjoy their dinner. I ordered Pasta Bolognese with Pene Pasta and instead they made it with Gnocohe (that is a potato dumpling), After 4 bites that was it for me. The waiter did offer to send it back I said NO THANKS. So it sat there while everyone else ate. He asked if I wanted to take it home. I looked at him like he was crazy, but I was a lady and said No thank you. I did not make a big deal of it. I do not know how fast I will return but I am sure I will give it another try. Mistakes are always made and you have to give them another try.

My wife and I decided to try this place out. Walked in around 9:30pm without reservations. We were seated, right away, at a table just inside the entrance. I didn't like the spot because of the high traffic. We asked to be moved further inside and the maitre d' was more than happy to accommodate us. There were no other tables immediately available, so we sat at the bar. This is were we met a very busy bartender named Camelia. She made us feel right at home while serving us our drinks. Overhearing us talking about pizza, she placed a menu in front of us and said we were welcome to eat right at the bar, which we did. As we were finishing our first round of drinks, the table bread came. It was hot and delicious. We could have eaten three more baskets of it, but decided not to ruin our appetite. We had fried calamari appetizer, which was also good. We decided on something light for dinner, the Romana pizza. My wife had two slices and I had the rest. All the food came in a timely manner. We finished our dinner with the Tiramisu dessert. Excellent. While we were having dinner, they had a man singing who had the "Sinatra" sound. He added a lot to the ambiance. When it was time to leave, we said goodbye to Camelia and the maitre d' thanked us for coming in. My first comment to my wife, as were stepped out onto the sidewalk, was, "We definitely have to come back again."

My friend and I were looking for a place to dine and play catch-up. We stopped and several restaurants and finally stopped at Perrone's and looked over the menu. A waiter, so pleasant and warm, came up to us and based is suggestions, we decided to eat here. We were met with warm greetings, as though we were regulars and were thrilled to feel as though we were welcomed. What topped the night off was the chef bringing us our meals and letting us know that he made it with love. He kissed our hands and it felt genuine. The food was DELICIOUS!!! Rarely, does great food and great service pair up. Amazing dining experience.

Really good food! I ordered the meatball appetizer and Gorgonzola salad. The meatballs were seasoned and cooked perfectly! The sauce was very good - and I am picky about my sauce. The Gorgonzola salad was delicious! Great service and warm inviting atmosphere.

The service is poor. It seems like they are understaffed. The food was good when the restaurant first opened 2 years ago, but lately the meals are either overcooked or undercooked. The waiters can't decide who will take care of the table and when they do, they leave you sitting there forever before they ask for your order. In the beginning when the restaurant first opened, the owners seemed very friendly and made you feel like family. But last night, I went with my daughter and she was playing with the owner's grandson. The owner's wife came up to my daughter and grabbed her by the wrist and told her to stop running in the restaurant. I am appalled about this. Nonetheless, my daughter began to cry. No apology. I won't report the incident, but I certainly will not return.

I eat lunch here 2-3 times per week. Salads are fresh and the house dressing is homemade & delicious. The lunch panini sandwiches are great, and the salmon is amazing. If you don't stop in, you are missing out big time on some delicious Italian food right here in down town Hollywood.

This was an amazing restaurant. Our best meal during our vacation in south Florida. A complete and utter joy especially after the disappointment of Bistro 1902 (that was horrible). This place is amazing in everything from service to the quality of food. It was all fresh, homemade and made to order. It was all so tasty, flavorful and filling. The waiter was great. She was a lot of fun without being intrusive or rude. All around a great meal and experience. Will definitely go back here returning to Hollywood area.

I have to go with 5 stars because I personally feel so comfortable here. The owner Dominick and his wife are the nicest people and will do whatever possible to make u happy. Between my wife who gives her server an instruction manual for the chef every time she orders something and some of our friends who are the fussiest eaters who've never found a restaurant they like yet but love this place. I have to say this is worth putting on your go to list. All the fish is very fresh and delicious and the pastas are flavorable. Casual, friendly dinning in a nice setting with friendly service. What more do you want?

Wow. Wanted to like this place really bad. My first visit was fine but the second was the total pits. When we sat down there was a spoon on our table with food on it. Crumbs on the plates too. They should fire whoever is washing their dishes because I am still nauseous from the stains on the glasses that held my water. I ordered the il pescatore with white sauce instead of red sauce. Waste of calories. All the seafood was overcooked. The mussels, calamari, clams, scallops, shrimps, and unidentifiable bits were the texture of rubber. With all the amazing seafood in Florida, it should be a crime what these people did to the food. Service is also really bad. The server brought out food one by one instead of on a tray like our first visit. I wasn't looking for a fine dining experience but the server was straight up forgetful. From plates to delivering the right amount of soups, he never had it all together. Sticking to pizza next time... If there is a next time.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner here tonight. Fresh pasta made the dinner, as we enjoyed lasagna and gnocchi. We split the 160 salad, which was loaded with bacon and gorgonzola cheese. The salad was incredibly fresh. Both the gnocchi and the lasagna were rich, flavorful and meaty. The service was extremely attentive and friendly! The atmosphere was romantic and upscale. Great little spot in downtown Hollywood, right in the middle of the bustling Hollywood Blvd. I know I'll be back! The tiramisu dessert was amazing!!

Came today for a business lunch. We sat outside as it was a beautiful day. There are a good number of tables outside and plenty more inside. We started with the Calamari Vesuvio which is fried calamari tossed in a spicy sauce with cherry peppers. It was very good. I ordered the mussels and pasta with the Caesar Salad. Others ordered the salmon and spahetti and meatball. Everything was good, but one major issue which they lost a star for. The salmon came with the side salad before the meal and NOTHING else. No rice. No potatoes. No veggies. No pasta. NOTHING! Just a small piece of salmon on a big plate. What are they thinking? It was very chintsy and I can't believe any business that wants return business would do something like that. The server should have mentioned that when it was ordered and suggested a side. That all being said, the food and service were otherwise very good and I would go back. The price a reasonable for lunch. Everything was in the $10-$15 range on the lunch menu.

I was not impressed with this place at all. Our first impression, literally as we stepped out of the car, was being yelled at by some guy (owner? Manager?) that we "couldn't park there." I explained that we were being dropped off and that the car was pulling away right then. "Oh." he says. We were seated at a table near the computer, so every time a waitperson walked past me, they bumped into my chair. We sat for about fifteen minutes without menus, water, or any sort of attention from the staff. I flagged down the guy who had barked at us outside to get menus. Someone brought us some bread without plates to rest our buttery knives on, so we wound up with crumbs all over the table. The only reason we went to this restaurant was because of the rave reviews from the hotel staff. I'm going to guess that Floridians don't know what good Italian food is because this definitely isn't it. I got the lasagna, which reminded me of Chef Boyardee ravioli - the sauce had that same flavor. It was also kind of dry. My dining partner had spaghetti and said it was just okay. Honestly, I'e had much better at Carrabba's and local Italian joints here in the Motor City. Our waitress didn't spend much time checking on us during the meal. They also brought our meals out at different times, which always irks me. One person is sitting there twiddling their thumbs while the other person has to decide whether to eat or not. The best part about this restaurant is the entertainment. The guy who sings was pretty decent and apparently he can sing in every European and Middle Eastern language. Unfortunately, that didn't make up for the mediocre food and subpar service.

Food was excellent! Everyone at table was happy with their meal. The service was a little slow, maybe because it was a Wednesday night. When the food finally arrived it was worth the wait!

Ok so my experience with take out doesn't reflect the food. Went a little while ago with the family and had a wonderful meal. Very busy place but the service was very good. Enjoy.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
