This is the best authentic market in South Florida. I have been going here for years. They make all their own fresh pasta, sauces, and fresh homemade mozzarella cheese. They also smoke the fresh mozzarella it is amazing. Prices are very good too !They also have a huge assortment of dried pasta, and sauces. They have a bakery section, and also make pizza there. You can even buy fresh dough there to make your own pizza's at home. The prices are very reasonable a pound of fresh pasta is $2.99 . They also have frozen raviolis, and potato gnocchi $3.25. I like to purchase a few to leave in my freezer . The market is a nice size and will pretty much have anything you need to cook a homemade Italian meal. Fresh parmigiana Regina you can leave whole, or they will freshly grate it for you for $15.99lb (whole foods charges $22.9lb.) Prices are great , and so it the quality!

While they have a large selection of traditional Italian fare and the pizza is excellent, the staff makes the experience less than desirable. Upon picking up an order today the gentleman at the counter was interested in everything else but helping me. While checking me out he had a conversation with a woman behind me who he clearly knew. Not even saying thank you or come again. I have been there many times but suspect this will be my last time. Customer service to me is just as important as the products they sell. Take a trip across the street to Gino's they are much friendlier. that's what I did to complete my order since the gentleman at Mimi's could not be bothered with me.

Dear Mimi's I don't think i will even go back to your store. Every time i step in there i lose control. Your stuff is so very very good. Your eggplant parm is just sinful, one of the best i ever had. Your meatballs are better than my Italian husband's...shhh he will leave me if he knew. Then there are those cannollis...there was a fight in my household over them. Thankfully, you close at 6 so i can only go there on the weekends or when i'm off work. Sincerely, glad i have a gym membership :)

Mimi's is hit or miss. Sure, they have some great items but some of their products are horrid. You can get something at Mimi's that is fantastic and then go back two weeks later and buy the same item and it is completely different. The best items are the pastries; canoli, tarts, "piggy cookies", etc. They also have a great garlic bread and they will sell you a half which is great because it isn't nearly as good the next day. Eggplant Rollatini is usually good and sometimes their meatballs if you can get them fresh are excellent. Garlic rolls can be good but most of the time they are too salty. The garlic rolls they sell on the counter are made of pizza dough and are lousy. I found the white clam sauce to be particularly bad and I disliked the pizza immensely which was surprising because they seem to sell a lot of it. I also did not care for their "fresh" pasta; I would rather eat pasta out of a box from the supermarket. It is best to find what you like at Mimi's and stick to it. I have been disappointed more than once so I stick to the kick-ass canoli and other items that I know are good. My main complaint about Mimi's is there is no quality control. Simply put, you never know what you are going to get and I think it depends on who is making it. Also, it wouldn't hurt for the people who work there to smile occasionally when they are helping you at the counter.

OMG....Mimi's is so yummy! I love coming in for some of the prepared foods , delicious desserts (can you say delicioso cannolis?!) and freshly made pizza. We love their pasta and always have some frozen raviolis in our freezer. The fresh mozzarella is reason enough to make a pit stop. My most favorite time to be there is Christmas Eve (later in the afternoon...it is packed and the line may wrap around the inside do the store but the energy in there is so joyous. Once "Grandpa"came through with a tray of complimentary cannolis....how sweet is that? So, I recommend you run over to Mimi's today!

If you had an Italian grandmother with memories of her pastries and pasta, then this is where you could go to be reminded of her. Seriously this place is as authentic an New Jersey style italian shop which a huge supply of fresh pasta, home made sauces, imported olive oil and balsamic vinegar that will make your mouth water! My particular favorite things to pick up on my visits here: - home made mozzarella - massive balls of creamy cheese - cured sopressetta - Grand Marnier cream filled lobster tails and nutella filled lobster tails - and any other pastry that catches my eye. They only make so much of these things per day so once they run out, they are out. The place is family owned and the staff behind the counter make the visit memorable as sometimes they are so busy you have to make sure you know what you want before you get to the counter because they don't have time to waste on indecisiveness! Oh and I forgot to mention they have a huge selection of homemade artisan breads. Next time you are in the area and are going on a picnic or have guests coming over, stop here to stock up and revisit those fond memories of your Italian Nonni

Thanks to Yelp and Bernardo A. I found out about Mimi's and their lovely fresh pasta. It's amazing because I've driven past it for so many years and it never once occurred to me to check it out. Parking was easy and I when I entered the store I was greeted by a very friendly and cheerful hello. The gentleman in the shop was very helpful and he explained that all their pasta was freshly made in house. He walked me through all the different types and I ended up picking the large cheese ravioli. Make no mistake...these were LARGE and IN CHARGE. I told him I was interested in making a white sauce and he suggested a bechamel sauce that was imported from Italy. I was interested in some Truffle oil and he explained the differences in quality from the many brands he carried. I ended up getting a bottle of White Truffle Oil and also a bottle of sliced Black Truffles in Oil. I cannot begin to explain the awesomeness of the Black Truffles. Before leaving he gave me instructions on how to best to cook the Ravioli. I went home that night and had a decadent meal of Cheese Ravioli with a truffle infused bechamel sauce. Can you say Foodgasm?? I was very impressed with the quality of the Pasta and the service. I will most certainly be back to purchase more. Why have supermarket brand pasta when you can have it freshly made!!

I love going to Mimi's. They carry a few products that you can't find anywhere else...I usually go when I want to spend some serious money on a few things: Canned Italian tuna packed in olive oil ($8/can...yikes!). Olive oil. Balsamic vinegar. Roasted peppers. Cured meats. Canned tomatoes (get the canned tomatoes if nothing else) Cheeses. The best jarred capers ever. Fresh, dried and frozen pasta. The ladies behind the counter are amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, funny, motherly. They make up for the dusty shelves and some of the dusty products which I guess don't move too fast off the shelves. Even though they are called Mimi's Ravioli, their frozen ravioli are just OK. I've had a couple of times when the ravioli I've bought have had a little freezer burn. Still, I always have a box or two in the freezer because they are great in a pinch. Their gnocci are a bit doughy so I don't get them. Their dried pasta, however, is very good and they have varieties that you can't easily find in other places. I'm due for another visit, soon. I'm already looking forward to it.

I want to add to the favorable reviews already here that they have a to die for bakery.the breads are the best I have had in South Florida. And they have so many kinds that despite trying and trying, I have still not sampled them all. If you like bread as well as pasta, try the bakery. Robin S

As a long time Hollywood resident, I had always meant to try Mimi's and finally did today. It was the best! From the fresh mozzarella to the fresh cheese ravioli and Italian bread, I am a fan. We got the marinara sauce, which was fresh, and the frozen vodka sauce, which needed a splash of half and half, and it was wonderful. As a first timer, I appreciated the help with what to get and plan to go back and try the frozen raviolis. What a gem in my neighborhood!

I'll tell you a thing or two about Mimi's. *They make their own Mozzarella. (BEST EVAR) *They smoke their own Mozzarella (GET IT) *They make their own fresh cheese braids. *The sweet sorpresatta is magnifica! *Their market is packed with Italian goodies. (GET YER ITALIAN ON) *Their raviolis are meh! (I've tried like 3 or 4 varieties. Not too impressive) *Dont get the garlic focaccia. Holy crap is it garlicky. It burns. BLEH. *Every time I go, I spend $60 minimum. Mimi's is worth the drive for sure! Do it!.

Another hidden gem! Mimi's has delectable food. From fresh mozzarella to ravioli to pizza to eggplant parm to the italian cookies. Everything we've tried here as been perfect! Don't go hungry though, you'll want to buy the store.

No need to go into detail as previous reviewers have summed it up well. Not high end Las Olas, but if your looking for Italian food products you can't go wrong between a stop here and across the street at Gino's. What we appreciate the most is the consistency. We've probably dropped $1,000's there by now and have yet to run across anything we were less than satisfied with. Quite a departure from other specialty food shops in Broward. As a note, this is southern Italian fare. It sells very good basics, not the finest olive oils, balsamico's or has a stash of white truffles hidden behind the counter. For those look elsewhere, as in fly to Italy.

How can you beat this place. What a pace from the fresh pastas daily to the fresh bread also. Make sure you try the eggplant up by the front register as its amazing. The best home made tomato sauce . Love the owner . She will make you try everything as she is sweet and helpful. You will feel like its home for the holiday everyday when you shop there

Adorable Italian market tucked away in a neighborhood off on Johnson Street in Hollywood. The staff here are what make it five stars, it is family owned and operated, and have been in business for over 40 years. From the moment I walked in, smelling the fresh bread and saw all of the fresh pastas, I knew I loved this place. If you are looking for prepared meals, fresh pasta, italian baked goods, fresh bread, and so many other things Italian and otherwise, this is the place to go. I am sure this will be a place I will be coming back to for many years to come!

I walk into the store and immediately go to the back to pick up a few packs of Kamut and Farro pasta from Italy. (Both are high protein and easily digested.) Going past the refrigerators of homemade sauce and the displays of freshly made dishes near the brick oven I stop at the jars of marinated peppers and packages of beans and grains. But hubby is calling me to come over to the freezer cases of ravioli and cannoli creams in pipping bags..it's all a swirl of deliciousness! We realize we have too many stops to make before going home and pass on getting these items, albeit lingering to discuss what could be...a fine dinner and dessert (we could buy the filling and get some cannoli shells stored behind the counter to fill right before we eat them). Heading for the counter it's all too much - by this point we want everything! So we get half of a focaccia with garlic and parmesan, a few baguettes and a box of cookies. And then we break down and buy stuff that needs refrigeration - at least it's not frozen stuff that would degrade if defrosted and refrozen - we grab garlic butter, fresh mozzarella, and hot and sweet soppressata. It doesn't matter that supermarkets sell the same stuff - nothing compares with the quality of the food from this salumeria/bakery! Growing up in the northeast, on this food, I am brought back to my childhood and tasty memories. Having a platter of antipasti when we get home, I am delighted with the quality and taste of everything! LIFE IS GOOD AND SO IS MIMI'S!

This place is Gino's Italian American Meat Market (across the street) on steroids when it comes to their Bakery, but as everyone knows, steroids have a few issues. Don't mean to scare anyone off, their 'issues' are few, and overall this place is pretty damn cool for an Irish boy like myself relatively unfamiliar with people and food from the Boot. What's cool: When you first walk in the place most of the employees are Italian , and Italian loud. If you came here from another Planet and didn't speak either English or Italian you would think friendly conversations were heated arguments.. Don't misunderstand, the staff is super friendly. Apparently, It's an Italian thing and I was loving it. This lends to the experience though, trust me. by the time I was checking out I was barking back with a fakey NY accent but with a smile on my face. They have tons of in house products, everything from desserts to pastas sauces and I found the Pasta to be the best of them. Their gluten-free pasta was strangely delicious and the all the different ravioli (there had to be 20+ varieties) was very good. What's so-so: Their tomato based sauces we had were all good but nothing to write home about in my opinion BUT their White Clam Sauce was damn good! I mean really good, if you go I suggest picking some up to see what I mean. Do I recommend Mimi's? hell yeahs! BUT GO EARLY PEOPLE, THE PLACE GET'S CRAZY!! Ciao Bella

I love, love, love Mimi's. Their fresh pasta is amazing as well as their meatballs & sauce. One of my favorite things though is their focaccia, whether it is eggplant (my favorite), onion, grilled peppers or any of a myriad of interesting options it is always going to be over the top. Their biscotti comes in multiple incarnations as well, the white chocolate is one of my favorites. One thing is for sure, there is something for everyone!

If you want amazing Italian food catered, look no further. We knew when we were having our daughter's graduation party that Mimi's would be the place to order catering from. Linda, the owner was beyond helpful with her suggestions and expertise on catering. She talked me out of certain food that we did not need, she designed the menu to work the best for the crowd we were having. She is so professional and such an expert on catering that she would not allow me to go over board and that was impressive. Our order consisted of: Italian Antipasto trays, caprese salad, tortellini salad, baked ziti, sausage and peppers, meatballs, meat lasagna roll ups, veggie lasagna rollups, chicken marsala, chicken francais, focaccia, garlic knots, arancini balls, Sicilian agnoletti, butter cookies, small pastry's and of course the cake. Anthony her son made the cake and it was beautiful with cannoli filling and everyone raved about how good it was. So many of our guest came up to me to let me know how good all of the food was. Anthony and another gentleman arrived at our house right on time, set all the food up and it was everything we expected plus more. Everyone raved about the deliciousness of everything. I was beyond happy that we chose Mimi's to do our catering. Having an Italian family I was a bit worried but my father in law was quite impressed and he is an amazing executive chef. I can't thank Linda & Anthony enough for making everything perfect for our daughter's party and it truly was above my expectations. We had several trays of food left over that we were able to give some away and keep for the next day. You are such a wonderful family!!! My friends seemed to be very interested in ordering their catering needs from you in the future. I would never go anywhere else. Thank you so very much for doing a fantastic job. On a funny side note: I am shocked Anthony made it out of our house as several ladies were quite taken by him, LOL

I enjoy shopping at Mimi's whenever I come to town. I look forward to the variety in the ready made foods! I have never had a chicken cutlet in any restaurant as good as the ones here. But the star I truly look forward to is the Eggplant Parmesan stacks. Sooo very good. Today I tried the Gelato. I couldn't decide on flavor so I had 1 scoop of Fig and 1 scoop of Pistachio. Great decision they were both fantastic. On one hand I wish Mimis was in my hometown, on the other hand my wallet and waist say distance will make the reunions that much sweeter! If you're ever in Hollywood, Fl make it a point to go to Mimis Ravioli.

The pasta! The bread! The bakery ! Linda the owner ! The employees! It's worth the drive to this corner of Johnson St. Even from Lake Worth & Delray . With the clean, fresh well-priced food this place is a place to love! Thanks to their incredible contribution at the " Party on J St" festival. It was well worth the drive to sample their pizza, sausage & peppers, eggplant and of course, the stuffed shells & rigatoni all offered at incredibly affordable prices! With Ginos Italian Market close by , it's worth the drive here any day . Thank you, Mimi's

I've been buying my Italian specialties here since moving from Westchester NY in 1992. Pasta, Cheese's, Breads, all kinds of great stuff. It doesn't get any better and if your a good cook this is the place to load up on materials for your next epicurean cooking adventure. Linda, Frankie, Anthony and their staff are all good people. AND it's about time they set a couple of small tables outside. Now I can sneak away for a lunch once in awhile and feel like I'm back in Westchester for a few minutes....

Gee! This place is packed top to bottom. No kidding. You could easily spend an hour and not finish seeing all the stuff that is crammed in the store. Mimi's Ravioli carries a lot more than ravioli, that's for sure. As soon as you walk in, there is a three level table full of extra virgin olive oil and infused olive oils. Next to it, on the right, there's a fridge full of frozen pasta and ravioli, and in front of the fridge, yet another table full of biscotti, cakes, panettone and cookies. To your left, another fridge full of frozen dinners and fresh pasta, sauces, cold cuts, etc ... and you have only taken one step inside Mimi's. To summarize the assortment, there is frozen pasta, fresh pasta, dry pasta, all types of pasta shapes, olive oil, extra virgin olive oil, infused olive oil, olive oil in bottles and in cans, balsamic vinegar, cakes, cookies, panettone, flours, pizza dough, bread, focaccia, cheeses, sausages, dry sausages, etc. And that is not including the hot food. Turn around the corner, to the back of the store, and there's a variety of salads and hot food, including pasta salads, meatballs, lasagna, chicken cutlets, etc, as well as tarts, cakes, and pies. This place basically has everything. The hoarding doesn't stop there, and here is where things start to get weird. There are fridges behind the counters that you can't reach. You have to ask one of the employees to get the stuff for you. And there are also shelves of breads and pastries that you can't see unless you stand by the hot food section and only if you pay attention. Clearly, you have to be a seasoned Mimi's customer to know all the ins and outs of this market and to take full advantage of your visit. Or you could just continue reading. Mimi's also has a pizza oven on premises, so make sure to get a pizza. Like I said, there is a lot than just raviolis at Mimi's. This store seems to be an import from New York with the thick Brooklyn accent included and all. The staff seems to be also imported, happy and outgoing, cracking jokes left and right like people who eat fiber for breakfast. Consequently, many of the customers are northerners. For example, regulars that walk in asking for "meetahballs" are a common sight, as well as people looking for fresh mozzarella. That said, one visit to this place will get you set for quite a while. Mimi's is the proverbial one stop shop, where one stop is enough to load up on frozen dinners, fresh pasta, olive oil, dry pasta, mozzarella, dry sausages, bread, and a tart for dessert. In other words, this is "the freaking Italian supermarket in South Florida", and it rocks. On my maiden voyage, I got some regular focaccia, fresh pasta and a couple frozen dinners. Once I reheated the focaccia at home, it was delicious. Not the same with the frozen dinners, although quite good. The fresh pappardelle I got was okay also, but it is worth a try. For all the foods and groceries, Mimi's is definitively something not to "foh-get about it", but to visit again and again, specially if you are a fan of mee-tah-balls or if you like cooking Italian or Italian-American food.

I drove from Boca to Hollywood to discover the best Italian Market in South FL. The cheeses, the oils, the balsamics, of course the raviolis and sauces, breads and entrees are all 100% authentic and delicious. Mimi's is the best and well worth a trip from wherever you are. They cater too!

Tiny Italian shop, aisles packed full of product. Ordering counters lined with gelato, fresh mozzarella cheese they make daily, cured meats, fresh baked bread, pastries, pizzas, and ready made Italian meals. Freezers are full of Mimis signature dishes like ravioli and manicotti you can find in specialty super markets (Fresh Market carries Mimis). Mimis also caters and does work with many restaurants that need ready made Italian food. Mimi is very friendly and you can find her at the cash register ringing in the purchases. You can also find her son's working away beside her. There were some samples of food to try . Cheese on bread, and some meats on the bread. My family ordered a fresh mozzarella ball, fresh baked rustic ciabatta (the other ciabatta looks like a bagette, I didn't like it), salami, a fresh made prosciutto pizza from their oven, and for dessert chocolate chip cookie dipped in chocolate, two lobster tails -one ricotta, the other chocolate. I've also had Mimis Catering at the Italian Club in Ft Lauderdale. Overall the appetizers are the winners here. The ciabatta was perfect, thick crust and pulley inside dough. Mozzarella so fresh it's really outstanding just feels amazing in your mouth. The meats are imported and prosciutto from Italy can cost 30$/pound. With that said the prosciutto on the pizza had a topping charge of 6$. The desserts fell short of good. The chocolate chip cookie was tasteless and not real chocolate used at all, disappointing. Ive had their carrot cake and other desserts, and you can just tell when mediocre ingredients are used, it doesn't taste rich nor right. They are closed Monday's and close earlier on Sunday. Make sure to check the times! We were rushed and they told us to hurry up and order cause they were closing in 15 mins. I think that's why the pizza wasn't crispy either, they wanted to leave. Some of the staff doesn't speak English but Spanish, and I am frustrated when I can't communicate. The lack of stars is for how the food looks amazing - and yet the Food is lacking those stars.

Hands down, by far the best! I know I'm going to have a great dinner when I shop at Mimi's. My dinner without a doubt is going to be better than any Italian restaurant in all of Florida. Absolutely must try their Ricotto Salata and grate it over warm pasta or salad. To die for! Enjoy! Because I know you will.

This is he best gourmet Italian deli I have found in south Florida. Their brick oven pizza is absolutely amazing. Their semolina Italian bread resembles Arthur Ave in the Bronx. Everything in the deli is unbelievably delicious. Great tastings also. Their prepared foods are awesome. Don't miss this axing spot.

Had the most delicious veggie pizza that I ever ate, as well as some dynamite garlic rolls. I also had a couple of bites of a magnificent brownie and moist rum pound cake. The market is small, but very nicely set up and everything looks fresh and scrumptious. The staff was friendly and made you feel very welcome. A true gem.

I discovered Mimi's today after seeing that Gino's across the street was closed. Ok, so this place doesn't look like much from the outside but on the inside---holy cannoli(cmon, I had to!) ---lots of Italian goodies. Very friendly staff that greets you as you walk in and even gave me a few god bless you's after an allergy sneezing attack hit me. The first thing I noticed was the huge selection of frozen ravioli they offer. It kinda made me sad I don't live in South Florida anymore b/c I would have been on that like white on rice---goat cheese stuffed ravioli, sun dried tomato ravioli, roasted red pepper ravioli and more! They have a market selection of cookies, olive oils, dressings and other goodies plus they offer a pretty sweet selection of home made goodies like lasagne, focaccia, pizza, calzones, salads and desserts. I went with a pepperoni calzone, which was stuffed to the max with cheese and pepperoni galore. I really dug how they have whole wheat and gluten free options there and their fresh mozzarella looked absolutely amazing. If you're looking for an Italian market, be sure to check this place out. Closed on Mondays.
