Chose to hit this spot with a friend before dropping off at airport, all based on the trememdous yelp reviews. Once again, yelp delivers! I am loosely Jew-ish, have been to israel for an extended stay and love all manner of Jewish food. IIRC there are some fabled spots in Boca that might rival this, but have not tried those yet. I have tried many of the NY Deli/Mediterranean/Kosher/Israeli options in Miami/Ft. Laud and gotta say I wish I hadn't waited so long to try this one. This is far and away the best and most authentic Israeli food I've had here. Atmosphere is that of cafeteria style or counter service restaurant, but we got sit down service from an attentive young guy in a kippah. Service was very fast. Our appetizer stuffed grape leaves came out warm and in an instant. As good as any Greek place I have tried in South Florida. Server brought us excellent pickled veg from the bar, which I wish I had gone to look at myself. We ordered a dinner portion of skishkabob (I think this was some mixture of meats) and lunch shwarma platter which was turkey and lamb. All was cooked to perfection and very flavorful with appropriate amounts of salt. The dinner came with a giant helping of israeli salad and the lunch came with heaping piles of tahina, babaganoush, hummus and israeli salad as well as a giant helping of fried potatoes (thicker home made potatoe chips). I didn't try to the side of pita, but my friend said it was excellent! Price was low 10 dollars for lunch platter low 20 dollars, so reasonable for the sheer amount of food served. Perfect portions for sharing, we were stuffed and still had a takeaway box. Excellent! I am moving soon, but will stop here when I come back to visit. Side note: It was pouring rain when we went and there was about a foot of standing water in the entire parking lot of the strip mall! Beware of driving a low riding car here in the rain!

I thought Astoria Deli was better overall for Israeli food, but Levy's make up for it with their Laffa sandwiches which is even larger than the shawarmas you knew from your childhood. And thicker. Double. It's only for the starving. And it's worth it even though it's a $1 extra. I had the lamb sandwich using laffa bread (a thick and large pita filled with tasty pieces of lamb meat - $9.50 + $1 for laffa) and it was delicious - I would return for it.

If you've been to Israel and your craving an authentic shwarma you must come here. It's the real deal my friends. They cut open the pita the right way with a razor blade, the meat is on a spit and all the fixins are there: the Israeli salad, eggplant, hummus, cabbage, etc. Yum. The pita was huge and I couldn't eat the whole thing. The one disappointment was that they only had lamb shwarma. We got there right in time on Friday because as we were eating they started cleaning up for Shabbat. Luckily though I got a pass at the "salad" bar first and happily discovered that they had my favorite; carrots. Seriously that just made my day almost as much as finding a real shwarma (they don't have places like this in Cali or Virginia). Anyways back to the carrots, they are garlicky, spicy and delicious. If you come here, you need to try them. Bottom line is that this place is good and I'll be back (I need to try the schnitzel sandwich).

I found myself in the area around lunchtime, and combined with my truly Yelp application, and a vague recollection of Jordan's glowing review, I maneuvered my way over to Levy's. I got there before the lunch rush, but my attempt to order a shwarma on laffa was thwarted when I was told that the shwarma wouldn't be ready for about 30 minutes. Good thing I wasn't in a hurry! I grabbed some pickles (from the free condiment bar) and a drink, and managed to kill time until the shwarma was good to go. And it was totally worth the wait! The guys behind the counter gave me a little grief when I told them I wanted it on laffa bread, since it really makes the sandwich outta-control big. I agreed with them that I wouldn't be able to eat it all, but that I wanted the fluffy bread. (I ended up taking 1/2 of it home with me, by the by). It was absolutely scrumptious! I got it fully loaded with all the fixins, and it was awesome. I highly recommend going with the spicy sauce, as it adds a welcome kick to things. Altogether, my meal was about $11 - not too shabby for one of the best shwarmas I've ever had!

Visited this spot after being out of town for a while. BF and I were craving something familiar, so we hit up this place for some real jew food. We ordered the chicken schwarma plate and the falafel plate. They came with hummus, tahini, Israeli salad, and babaganoish with French fries or rice and beans. He got french fries, and I got rice and beans. I LOVED the falafel sandwich. It was big and the falafel was very flavorful! The rice and beans were unimpressive. BF was totally happy with the schwarma. I will definitely be back.

I'm a huge fan of Israeli food. Levy's shawarma and young chicken sandwiches are the best I've had anywhere (that includes Tel Aviv )

Very fresh, delicious food and huge portions. Along with overstuffed pitas you can get an even bigger laffa (chickpea bread aka Taboon bread) wrap. Shawarma is top notch. Sides are great. Pickle bar is impressive. Even if you've never tried kosher or this brand of Mediterranean cuisine, give Levy's a try-- you won't be disappointed.

Shwarma on Laffa is big enough for 3 people. I swear that thing was 6lbs of kosher goodness...

I came here just to see why they have such high ratings, I got my answer. Everything from the service to the food to the pricing was awesome. Probably the best Kosher Shwarma worldwide.

Good filling stuff, attentive and cheerful staff ... loved the Shawarma Pita with fresh salad, hummus, onions and peppers. The side of rice and beans was delicious too! Heck even the carrots and radish salad were great! Nice place for Kosher lovers - easy on wallet to boot!

OK, I can't comment on the Middle Eastern food because I didn't have any - actually the "falafel" sign in the window almost got me to NOT go in. I recently left San Francisco where pretty much the only Kosher restaurants are Middle Eastern, and y'know, sometimes I want a burger! But I decided to check out the menu on the door, and the word "cheeseburger" drew me in... And that's precisely what I had. A cheeseburger (with the best soy-cheese alternative I've encountered yet). What sold me on Levy's wasn't just the mouth-watering and quickly inhaled burger, it was the customer service. The waitress was a complete doll - first chastising me, on finding out I was kosher (a single blond, blue-eyed, fair skinned lady in a babydoll T-shirt, I was kinda greeted by the other waitress with a "umm.. did you mean to walk in here?" look), for going with something as simple as a burger, then pretty much adopting me. I explained that I hadn't had a good, Kosher cheeseburger in more years than I could count and I was CRAVING one. They turned it around in under 10 minutes (and the restaurant was more than half full), and as I finished eating, a gentleman I took to be either one of the chefs or an owner came to sit at the next table, chatting to me - clearly, she'd told him I was an out-of-town Jew drawn in by the rare opportunity to eat anything on the menu. Wonderful. A huge, yummy burger with a side of chip/fries that were sinful, and a soda, and friendly, compatriot-type staff, for $10.50. HUNH?! Almost felt too cheap - I left a $5 tip to make up for it. I'm SO going back if I'm in the area again.

I'm not Jewish and not big on Israeli food, usually, but this place is THE BOMB. Everything is just so very tasty and well prepared, even their rice and beans (and I usually hate rice and beans). They must have some kind of magical kitchen. The space is very basic cafeteria setting, but when the food is this good, clean (kosher), and cheap, what else do you need? Love Levy's!

The best Kosher spot that I've found thus far, and I have been looking! We have a lot of employees in our office who keep Kosher and this is our go to spot for great food. The schwarma, falafel & chicken pita with the israeli salad are my favorites. The chips are fresh made, crispy and delicious, and everyone always raves about how great the rice and beans are. They deliver, which is great, but make sure to order early because they only have 1 delivery driver and they have no limits to the location. If some one in Boca orders catering, you're kinda out of luck on the delivery front. But I'm usually very happy to go and get it when this is the case. It really is delicious.

This is some of the best Israeli/Kosher food I've ever had. The chicken shwarma platter is enough for two people and comes with delicious vegetables and hummus. The pita is always fresh, and the food comes out incredibly fast. I was underwhelmed with the falafels-not the best I've had. The restaurant can also get pretty crowded at dinner time, but there is almost always seating at the food bar. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes this type of food.

Wow, where to even begin with this place. I felt like at any point the whole restaurant was either going all to start yelling or simultaneously break out in dance. Odd but decent vibe, I guess is how I would put it. Good food, but the portions are much too large. Two people can easily share one dish. We had the chicken with sesame and it was delish. Also got the side of rice and beans which were nice and had a unique flavor. I was not a big fan of their fries because they were more like soggy chips, but I noticed a lot of people around the restaurant seemed to like them. The bar in the back has marinated carrots, pickled beets, and assorted veggies. It is help yourself, and i guess they are kinda like garnishes even though I love the carrots by themselves.

One of those places been meaning to stop in for years but always on my way somewhere when I pass by! (The hard Rock). Trying to find a reason to give it 4 stars, but I can't! went for early dinner around 7PM, only one other table in use by the time we left people were waiting for tables! First Loved the carrot salad. The Fries reminded me of the fries my grandmother made fried in chicken schmaltz! The shwarma was mostly turkey and a little lamb on a great Laffa bread great taste and not dry. next time I get Israeli salad instead of coleslaw inside. Chicken was delightful too!

I liked this place! I especially liked that it was near the airport. So, if you're returning from a business trip and have a hankering for Middle-Eastern food, stop by on the way home. The place was clean, and the pitas were puffy and fresh (though Levy said it's the only thing they don't make in house). But there's more good stuff: the shawarma had a nice seasoning and flavor, and the hot seasoning on the hummus gave it a nice kick. I even enjoyed the rice and beans. The waiter asked what 'side' I wanted, but then he offered to give me a sampling of the salads. This was awesome! I tried their hummus, baba, whole eggplant, and others. The only two items I wasn't crazy about were the felafel and the baba ganoush. The felafel was very salty and the baba fell flat. Still, this place is worth a shot- you'll leave full and satisfied. Try their desserts and pastries too. When time permits, the owner will even check on you with a smile on his face.

This is possibly the best middle-eastern eatery in town, if you dont mind the jihad-looking patrons and staff. And its right near TY Park, to walk off those pounds you've gained after dining here. A shawarma combo w/ fries & drink costs under $10, and chances are you'll put half of it away for next day's leftovers. Its greasy, but oh so delish-y!

Love the schwarma pita's on the laffa bread.....topped with fresh pickles, baba, hummus, red peppers...you have to go up when you're sat to tell them what you want.....good leftovers when I'm cash-cramped....I actually loved the rice and beans side dish. No Dr Browns :-(..but it's Israeli so I expected that They do have the ashkenaz food...like split pea soup which is really damn good Hollywood/Aventura has a huge Sephardic/Mizrachi Jewish population.....I love the counterbalance between them and the Ashkenazer Jewish.....really makes things interesting..because you can go to that place which is like a little Jerusalem and then go to a kosher mart like the one on Park Rd and Stirling and get a little bit of the boroughs..

Watch out when they ring you up!,,, I happened to grab my receipt And I saw that they charged me more for every item I ordered and then they neared up to the next dollar as my total. Also they charged me for 4 drinks when I only had three! Watch out especially when the owner rings you up, he should be in jail instead of ripping people off!

Levy's is Israeli food personified. They food is typical Israeli faire and the service is well...Israeli. You don't go there for the service, you go for the amazing food and the EYE CANDY behind the counter. I can't begin to tell you how many times my girlfriends and I would go sit in the back of the restaurant and just swoon over the hotties behind the counter. The food is good too...especially the Schnitzel on Laffa.

  • Saul D.

I recently made a trip here and was pleasantly surprised. I liked the home-style atmosphere. Everything tasted very fresh. Since there is not much indication of what is what you may have to ask the staff at the counter for help ordering. Or, you can do like I did and just say you want a falafel pita with whatever he would put on it for himself. Simple, worry-free and you don't have to try and pronounce anything! The only thing I would suggest is a better selection of drinks. They seem to be limited to a few canned sodas and bottled water.

  • David N.

I was very disappointed after seeing so many good reviews. The service was horrible...not just at our table but other people were complaining as well. The humus was great...the only reason they get 2 stars. The rest of the food was good, but not great. The fries (when they eventually came after I had already finished my sandwich) were dripping in grease. I will not be going back.

On a recent night, we had a delicious dinner here. The chicken schnitzel was yummy and the falafel was good (crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, even though they were bigger than any I've ever seen before). The israeli salad had the perfect amounts of lemon and crunchy cucumbers. I loved the pickles so much I ate them all and made some of my own the next day because I wanted more. I took one star off the ratings because they ran out of french fries that night - a big bummer because we had heard such rave reviews about them. The rice and beans dish they gave us instead wasn't to our liking - too sweet. They were also out of tahini sauce, so the falafel experience was a bit compromised. But we'll give them a chance to redeem themselves in the near future.

I was looking over the reviews and could not believe someone could give this place 3 stars. As far as Middle eastern food this place is tops! I had for the first time the Kebab and the Shwarma I topped with as many toppings as i could. The eggplant (2) were both amazing. AND the rice and beans....I can't describe how great they were. Such a nice change from your typical bland black beans and rice. I think what i loved the most about this place is how flavorful everything was. Everything was spiced to perfection (not heat wise) just how middle eastern food should taste. I've been to 2 other Kosher restaurants and they were always bland, but not this place. I highly recommend. I don't about the others that thought this place was a bit steep but i think the prices were very reasonable. My husband and i got 2 pitas for under $20.

Good prices, great food! The shwarma is delicious, so is the fallafal and all the sides. The fries are great, just make sure they cook them long enough. For the best value go for a plate rather than the sandwich, round it off with self served carrots and cabbage and you have yourself a great meal for little $$. Ambiance and service are both fine as far as a deli is concerned, you're not coming here for your wedding anniversary, you are coming to stuff your face and leave satisfied, that will happen here.

If you know what humus, babaganoush, shwarmas and laffas are - you're gonna love this place! If you don't... then go to Levy's so you can find out and you'll love this wierd-sounding food and this place! One thing you'll know for sure is that their french fries are among the best you've ever had. (FYI - their starter salads are spicy so taste them before giving to kids.)

Wow. After days of soggy fried food I came here starving for something fresh. The gentleman behind the counter guided me through my choices and piled on fresh goodness. The standards all exceeded expectations: fresh pita, excellent hummus, perfectly cooked vegetables. I was simply blown away by the falafel - hand made with parsley and other veggie goodness, not bread crumbs or filler. The best, though, was the free buffet of pickled root vegetables in the dining area. This place is genuinely good food in an area that needs it badly. I will definitely be back any time I'm flying through.

I spent a summer in Israel on an internship where I wasn't getting paid much and was basically living on cheap street food. This meant eating Shwarma at least four times a week. I had been living in VA where it's easy to get a Lebanese style shwarma but not the Israeli style I was uses to. When I discovered that this place existed I had to give it a try. Immediately when you walk in you see the round hunk of meat spinning on a spit. I knew this would be good. I ordered a shwarma pita, they were out of lafa, and had my choice of Israeli toppings. Even though the pita was the smallest serving size the portion was huge and came with fries that were more like potato chips. This was easily the most authentic Israeli shwarma I've had in the US. So authentic in fact that they even used utility knives to cut open the pitas (I know it sounds weird but every stand in Israel I remember does it the same way). My sandwich, drink, and fries cost about $11 which is pretty good considering how much food I got. Not the best shwarma I've had but the best I've had in this country so it gets five stars.

This place is very delicious. Great food, great service. We had been a cruise ship for a few days leading up to this and were badly needing some fresh, home-style food and Levy's couldn't have been better. Mmmmm.

Levy's offers REAL Israeli food. I had heard about this place through word of mouth. The hardcore Middle Eastern food lovers all know this to be the best place around and they are right. The pitas are unbelievable. They are homemade, hot, soft, and delicious. The hummus is some of the best I have ever tried and the falafel is DEFINITELY the best that I've ever tried. They start you off with a bunch of peppers, carrots, and pickles that are covered in this very tasty and spicy pepper confection. One of my favorite things there are the kababs. They are HUGE, soft, and high quality meat. The shawarma sandwiches are at a quality far beyond any one that I've ever had. They also have delicious rice/beans, french fries, and tahini sauce. Keep in mind when visiting that they close for the sabbath. (Friday before sunset and all day Saturday). They don't open again until late in the afternoon on Sunday; I think 2 PM. Coming to Levy's is a treat and a feast. I still haven't had their deli food yet because their Israeli food is just so awesome.

We have been vacationing in Florida for many years but somehow never got to Levy's before. Unfortunately. I am always in search of great falafel and this was among the best I have ever had. The ribs were tenderer than tender and delicious. Food came with fries which make sure to eat. We shared a shwarma lafa which was delicious (also huge). Oh yeah, the babka is sinful.

Great food, their fries are not traditional but more like chips, they are great. Their staff is friendly and the food is served quickly. I had a shawarma plate with mixed salads. The food was tasty and flavorful.

First of all the staff are really nice and friendly. I've been coming here for lunch with a coworker, and the more we come the more we want to come back! You walk in and give your order at the counter. They are cooking the schwarma and other items right there, so very shortly after you order they start preparing it. After ordering you can find a table and get your utensils and drink from the cooler. We tried felafel and young chicken last time we were there, we ordered it on pita with sides of fresh chips and the rice and beans. When they are ready to complete your order they call you up so you can tell them what condiments and salads you would like with your meal. I love the fresh hummus and eggplant. They can make it super spicy, which we usually get and its delicious!! It's definitely worth the trip here for a taste of Israeli/middle eastern culture, the desserts are amazing and everything is made fresh!

My first time here and it's so great! My first time to have Kosher food. Server was cute and very friendly. She was also very knowledgable. Food was good. Portions are HUGE. Price is affordable. Food made fresh. This place has family friendly environment. I would definitely come back!

If you want great food in the area, this is definitely be one of your go-to places. The atmosphere is friendly and homey. My mom and I go here many times for lunch and dinner. The staff are very amicable and entertaining. FOOD IS REALLY AWESOME. All of their meats are flavored to perfection. Sometimes, meat can be under or over-seasoned but not at Levy's. Their ingredients are freshly made, and everything is seasoned nicely, full of robust flavors, no matter what food you order. Their fries or "chips" is so crispy, no salt needed, and I just like that these people really put so much effort and quality into their food. Tip: Get the hummus and the young chicken plate with fries! It's amazinggggg. Babaganoush is great with everything! If you want a different type of meat, their shawarma plate is great. They're very generous with their servings, I can't even finish the whole plate by myself!

  • Stefano C.

To begin with the grape leaves need much more work to even be good. Falafel was too oily and the shawarma was nothing special. Decided to pop by for lunch since most people I know have recommended it to me but I have no clue why they did so. Service was friendly but poor. Broken plate served to me, dirty floors, no one checking in on you. Flies are seen around the restaurant. Maybe it became popular due to the fact that it's unique, there aren't much Israeli places near Miami but I wouldn't come back after trying it today! Once the workers finish their task they go on their phone until another task comes up which to me is poor service because that isn't seen in other restaurants. Workers state everything to be the best but it really isn't.. To finalize this review, just know it's not recommended

Even before ordering, if the fact that most of the people around you will be wearing yarlmukes and have liberally outgrown facial hair doesn't already convince you that this is authentic kosher food, then the food itself will. You certainly get the full Israeli experience here, with everything form shawarma, meat kabobs, pita, hummus, pickled vegetables, and even imported Israeli fruit drinks in the beverage cooler. As far as taste goes, Levy's borders on 5 stars; and if cost is not an issue (it certainly doesn't seem to be for most of their patrons), you will easily walk out blissfully full, with hardly a qualm on quality. There aren't all that many seats, and they stay crowded at dinnertime, so service may seem rushed and table space tight--but once the food starts rolling out, you will undoubtedly become absorbed in the experience. Some notes on the food: Hummus - 4 Stars - Excellent, with a definite homemade feel, but ever-so-slightly runny for my taste. Pita - 4 Stars - Hot, fluffy, and endless. Pickled Vegetables - 5 Stars - There's a self-serve vegetable bar in the back; take as much cabbage, turnips, cauliflower, and cabbage as you wish. They do one of the best pickling jobs I've tasted, with just enough tartness, and a slight (yet not overstated) spicy kick. Kabob Meats - 5 Stars - The meats are substantial, fresh, succulent, and perfectly seasoned. I can't really imagine kabob meat being any better. Shawarma - 5 Stars - The meat is fantastic, and they will pack these pita sandwiches ad ridiculum with whatever combination of purple cabbage, Israeli salad, tahini, and other toppings of preference. Dessert: If you ever thought Jewish desserts can't hold their own in the vast ocean of world cuisines, Levy's might make you think again. They do have baklava, but I've always gone for their babkas. A babka is a traditional Jewish pastry dessert, flavored like rugalah, but baked as a complexly layered high-loaf bread. Levy's offers the sweeter Chocolate and the more traditional Poppy. When I come with my family, we find it difficult to not order one of each of these. They are extremely moist, and the interspersed layers of breading, filling, and streusel keep the pastry interesting all the way through. My only concern is the heavy use of shortening, and the Chocolate version being almost too sweet. A single order is pretty plentiful, and capable of satisfying 3-4 people. Box up any leftovers, and toss it in your toaster oven the next day. The shortening that cascades out when heating it on your second pass may make you think twice about ordering it the next time--a lamentable feeling which passes after a few days' time. Their platters and dinner plates range between $15 - $24+, which seems slightly on the pricey side for Israeli food--but the high volume of kosher customers willing to wait for a seat authenticates my claim that Levy's is one of the best Israeli restaurants in town.

I thought the food was very average and the shawarma was pretty dry. I expected the pita to be fresh and homemade yet it was taken right out of bag and given to the customer. I'm glad I've given other restaurants a chance because after this experience I thought I would never give this type of food a chance. Let's just say my first visit was my last. And, as another Yelper stated, the establishment does not seem to practice sanitary standards.

So happy I forgot my lunch yesterday! For years, and I mean years, I have tossed around the idea of going to Levy's, something always stopped me, and once again, something almost stopped me ! This restaurant is walking distance to my place of employment, and I was craving a chicken pita (weird craving, I know)... When my co-worker and I walked in, it smelled a little funky to me but I thought 'Jods you're just sensitive' so I didn't say anything. All of a sudden I smelled something so delish I asked the gentleman behind the counter...he said Falafel, I said ok, I'll take it! He then asked what I wanted on it, when I asked what normally comes in it, he replied 'everything'! Obviously he knew I was a newbie and needed a bit of help. I had a hard time understanding him so a lady next to me sorta helped me out with the advice 'let him do his thing, it's so good' Good doesn't even describe it! My Falafel Pita had incredible Hummus, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant and I couldn't even tell you what else. It was by far, the best Falafel I have ever had! It comes with a side of Fries or Beans and Rice. I declined a side, knew I probably couldn't finish the sandwich and I hate to be a waster. The fries are actually more like chips, deep fried and crispy crunchy, almost every table had an order! So what almost stopped me from eating here? Well, as my meal was being prepared I had walked over to the register to pay and noticed the 'yummies' as my coworker called them on the counter (pastries, Bobka etc.) and there were a few flies all over them...gross!!! I quickly went back to check out the counter where my food was being prepared and no flies! I decided to just go with it, I was starving and it looked delish...glad I did! And btw, I ate the entire thing!! Can't wait to 'forget' my lunch again!

Spent the morning walking on the pier at South Point Park and surrounding areas of Miami. Worked up an appetite. Found a great place in Hollywood with Yelp's help. Mediterranean food at its best. I had a vegetarian laffa. The laffa was heavenly. It came with rice & beans. My sister had the corned beef on rye with cole slaw & potato salad. Her sandwich was two inches high. My husband had a huge double burger, he couldn't even finish and he's a big guy. It came with fried potatoes, chip like, nice & crisp. Hope y'all try it soon. You'll love it!

Best Mediterranean food in town! Love the shawarma! Great service! Great place! Couldn't believe kosher food can be that good! Every time I'm in the area.. This is my lunch spot! Enjoying every moment and every bite!

But somehow.he.does.the mans the iron chef.of schwarma...and if my " theres.no good food other than.in Israel" brother in law likes it ....i Youll love it! Salads and pickle bar kicks some serious tush too!

Absolutely delicious. Had the shawarma pita. The place seemed very clean and portions were hearty. I work nearby and all my coworkers love it as well.

***Levy's should get bonus stars! The pastrami was so delicious, I don't think I will ever have better. The waiter, a super nice guy, explained that the owner got this new type a while back and it's the French type of pastrami. They gave us a sample and I could have just eaten a plate of that and been happy for the rest of the night. The hummus was freshly made, smooth and delicious. The pita is thick, soft and warm. This is not your typical store bought pita bread. The waiter brought us a sample of different spreads and the eggplant one was a huge hit with my boyfriend. We ordered the pastrami burger. If you didn't see the photos yet, go look at the size of that thing! It is a mountain of quality beef burger and pastrami with grilled onions and coleslaw on the side. The fries are the best I have had in South Florida, see the photo. They are thin sliced and fried as if your grandmother made them from scratch. The beef pita was made with the best and cleanest cut of meat. They bring you a platter with chopped tomato, cucumber and sesame tahini dressing to dress it with. As if we didn't have enough, the waiter tells us about their poppy seed cake and I had to try it. We got one to go and it is soft and delicious, not too sweet but something you would love with a good cup of coffee. I found this place because we were shopping at Crown Liquor last week. I saw two Hollywood police pull into the parking lot one right after the other and park. I said, they have to be eating somewhere good. As we were leaving, I saw the sign for Levy's and looked it up on Yelp. Over 80 Yelpers rate this place great but you will never know exactly how outrageously good it is until you taste the food yourself.

We tried the Israeli food this time. Very good but not great. Falafel was over cooked and hard. Portion was huge. Utensil area was dirty and unorganized. Beans and rice were incredible. I would go back just for them. Babka was homemade, moist and excellent.

My sister and nephew came to my home for a week to visit from Baltimore. They are Kosher but I am not so it was difficult to find Kosher restaurants that we liked. Levy's was great. We all had different dished and all three of us liked everything. The service was great! I am not Kosher but I loved the Matzo Ball soup and the salmon dish. A friend of mine, who is not Kosher, had dinner with us and said that she love it and will bring her husband and daughter.

I love to eat at this restaurant and you must try anything in a laffa which is like a huge flower burrito wow. I like to eat it with the kisot or small hamburgers inside my laffa but i cant resist the mix. The double burger will fill you up right and enough to save some for later. The salads are great you mist order coleslaw and potato salad because its the best in America. Only issue i have is if i buy a shawarma and they put in the dry pieces from the top so make sure you tell them to put in juicy pieces from the middle cut.

The best ever hands down! I'm a picky eater but I love Levi's food. So fresh so good. Him and West are great people. The food is so good that even though I moved away I always come back to eat here when in town. They are worth the trip. They are consistently great and never forget a face. Love love.

Delicious and kosher don't always go together, but here at Levy`s this is definitely the case. I've been coming here for quite some time, so the owner and full time cook know my face if not by name. They are always very welcoming and I'm usually assisted pretty quickly. I have come in for take out as and with a party of 14. The place isn't that big, but they are easily able to accommodate bigger groups. They have a pretty extensive menu. The usual items that you would find at a meditteranean place: pita, schwarma (gyro), hummus... I really like the schneitzel. In addition they have matzah ball soup and pea soup as well as deli sandwiches including turkey and pastrami. The best day to go is Thursday. Just before the Jewish Sabbath, Levy`s pulls out all the stops with specialty desserts and dinner items. On occasion they have BBQ'D chicken which is absolutely amazing. I recently tried their fresh chocolate bobka and was completely in heaven. Super chocolatety!

I feel that I am pretty lucky to have Levy's so close to me. My family is kosher and will only eat out at places that serve kosher food. A few years back when there were kosher places all up and down 163rd street, this wasn't such a problem, but now with many of them having closed eating out would be a non-option if not for Levy's. This of course is not because Levy's is the only gig in town, but mainly because Levy's is the BEST! The menu is quite extensive from your usual Middle Eastern foods- to the traditional Ashkenazi dishes like matzah ball soup. They have fresh crunchy fries or rice and beans on the side- both are excellent choices. I usually choose both (one for me, and the other for my wife) and share. Their sandwiches are packed with lean meat and are served hot or cold to your liking. The servers are extremely friendly, and the service is usually pretty fast. For even faster service, call your order ahead of time!

I was feeling adventurous today so I went to Levy's kosher for dinner. I am so glad I steppped out of my comfort zone! Everything was on point. The rice and beans was so flavorful and fresh. It had such a nice meaty flavor to it. And I really love the lamb/turkey schwarma pita that I got. all the toppings bursted with such unique flavor. I already love this place. This would definitely be the spot that I check out next time i'm in the mood for Mediterranean food.

We came by last week and loved the self serve order line. My parents tried the shwarma and shnitzel in toasted pita. I had the falafel lafa. It was served with generous portions of every dip and topping you could love to try. The falafel was extremely fresh and well seasoned. They were each served with freshly fried potato fries, or rice and beans. Soda and other beverages are self serve as is the savory salad bar consisting of morroccan carrot salad, pickled turnips, Israeli cucumbers, and pickled cabbage salad. The prices are extremely reasonable and a good value for the high quality and large quantity of food that you are served. My dad remarked that this was his favorite meal while visiting here in South Florida. It was so good, that we returned here for lunch a few days later. We found the high quality food and service to be consistent. The owner was there and chatted with us about the area and history of the location. Looking forward to more tasty meals at Levy's.

After reading a review on Yelp, I had a craving for Levy's. Today, it was a toss up between Levy's or Chinese. Well Levy's won. I ordered the shawarma platter to go. $17 OUCH!!!. Negatives (besides the price) : The pita bread could have been warmed up a bit and the pieces of shawarma on top were a tad dry. Positives: The hummus amazing!!!! I enjoyed the salad, tomatoes, cucumber, (still trying to figure out what the spice is its either cilantro or parsley), shredded red and white cabbage and pieces of boiled eggplant I think it was. The pita bread is soft. On the way to the register are the desserts. Oh my!!! Looked like chocolate rugalas or however you spell it. Overall I am enjoying my lunch and about to finish the entire platter.

Found my way in here randomly and loved it. Delicious shawarma platter, the sides were tasty and unique to me. Even better was the desert. Also unique and great was ordering, eating, paying when you are done through the honor system (for lunch during the week). Pita was warm, the spicy mix was delicious and the people were all friendly. Not sure about people saying service was bad, just need to go to the counter and order there. Best kosher food I have had. I will be back.

Decided to stop by since I'll be moving my work in the area and liked the food! Won't say I'm crazy about it but I think I'll go back for another shawarma pita!

Levy's is good; nothing outstanding, but still one of the better kosher restaurants in the area. I was here for dinner recently and we were seated right away. The waitress was friendly and attentive, which was nice too. I ordered the matzo ball soup (decent) and the burger (pretty good). I chose rice and beans (tasty) as my side dish instead of the fries, which are more like fried potato chips. We were offered dessert but declined. The other person I ate with had the schnitzel plate and fries, which he said was also pretty good. As for drinks, we did ask for water but were told all they could provide was tap water *without* ice, which I thought was a little unusual for a restaurant. In the end we ended up just getting a water bottle and some soda. The price is relatively expensive, in my opinion. If you only order an entree and maybe a side dish the bill will be reasonable, but if you order a lot of other dishes it can add up. It was about $40.00 + tip for 2 people and we only ordered a soup/burger/schnitzel plate (the side of rice & beans, the fries, and pitas were included). In addition, I go to Levy's maybe two or three times a year and each time the portions have gotten noticeably smaller...so less bang for your buck. Overall, though, the food and service are good, the restaurant is clean, and I think I would still recommend it after taking the above into consideration.

Absolutely love this place. I'm writing a bunch of other randomness because yelp says my review is too short. Why can't just simply stating that a place is exceptional be good enough? Yelp stinks but Levys is delicious

Man, I love this place. kosher food, oversized pitas/shawarmas, fresh falafels, delicious hummus. fresh atypical hot sauce. so. good. you definitely should give this place a visit if you're in the area!

Levy's Kosher is not kosher. There was a fly infestation near the vegetable salads. A server grabbed lettuce with his bare hand and put it in a sandwich then proceeded to wipe his nose with the same hand and not wash it. He then went on to prepare another customer's pita. Finally, when I got my food home, I found a long blonde hair in my hummus. To top it off, the food is mediocre. Never again!

The food here is delicious, brings back memories of Israel. The staff is super friendly and the prices are good for the amount of food. I had the lamb laffa sandwich. Laffa bread is one of my most favorite things in the world, and Levy's is the best I've had outside of Israel. The lamb is a skewer of grilled lamb meat, seasoned to perfection and then topped with a wide assortment of Israeli vegetables. Think marinated eggplant, spicy onions, cabbage, olives. For under $13.00, the laffa sandwich is enough to feed at least two, as it also comes with free marinated carrots, sweet potatoes and pickles (you go to the bar to choose while they are preparing the meal) and a side of fries or rice and beans. I opted for the rice and beans, which were good. I will definitely be coming back here a lot, even if to just grab some laffa bread so I don't have to make it at home. I'm so glad to have this in my new neighborhood. Remember, this is a kosher restaurant, so they are not open Friday nights or all day on Saturday.

Levy's is for people who loves homy yummy Israeli style food. Best Falafel in South Florida, my favorite is the Pargiot (Young Chicken). Service is not always great and atmosphere could be very noisy when it's busy.

Came for dinner, 5 of us. You need to expect mediocre service, includes having to ask for silverware, napkins, ketchup etc. Everything seems to be sprinkled with ambah which I don't like. I prefer falafel crispier ( pretty soggy, under cooked ) they were out of ice and out of fries. Child's hamburger fell apart in pieces. My husband loved the shawarma though,

    (3)
  • Chris M.

Good falafel, fries and pickled veggies. I prefer some others for the pita sandwiches... It's not my favorite pita spot. I think it was the eggplant they accidentally added after I asked to leave it out. I still ate the whole thing, but would've preferred it without that vile veggie :). I'll stop crying about and still give this spot 5 because their chocolate babka is amazing. Seriously. My wife wants that as a Christmas gift.

Me and my daughter just happened to stumble into this place. As we eat Kosher we knew we found the right place. Service is great. Friendly servers as well. I had the shawarma with rice and beans and my daughter had the matzo soup. We were able to try each others dishes for the generous portions. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

This place is consistently good. I used to come here regularly years ago and had all but forgotten about this place after moving away then coming back, but I serendipitously stumbled into it when getting new tags on my car and I'm glad I did! The restaurant is clean and the staff is really nice. The food is great! I have tried limited items since I'm vegan, but the falafel is consistently great. A The rice and beans I feel are overrated, they tasted a bit bland to me. C They also serve pickled veggies which are pretty tasty! This place is right by my work so when I have been sick in the past, I come here for their delicious soup! It is a little disorganized. There's times when I have gone up to the counter to order and helped myself to drinks and the pickled salad bar - all on the honor system, then there are times when there is table service. Eh, food is great, you'll figure it out, I recommend it.

This is the best middle eastern restaurant in the entire Southern United States - maybe in the US - I kid you not. I consider myself a shwarma lover/expert - and have eaten at pretty much every place that I know of in the tri-county area over the years. Levy's is simply the best. Shwarma: the best - try the spicy shwarma (by request only). I like my shwarma crunchy and if you willing to be patient, then crispy is what you get. Falafel: the best. Rice and beans: the best. Spicy carrots: the best. Babganush: the best. Fries: the best. Eggplant: the best. I think that is enough...but you get the idea. A great eatery; a great atmosphere and brilliant food.

  • Russell W.

We stopped at Levy's to pick up a pastrami sandwich for our flight back to New York. Quick service, good sandwich, no complaints. It doesn't look at all like delis we're used to in the Big Apple, but hey it's Florida. We did find the assortment of Jewish memorabilia rather curious, however, since no members of the tribe were anywhere to be seen.

    (4)
  • Michael K.

As a completely neutral non-jewish, non-middle eastern person I can tell you...this place is delicious! Blows any and every other place that has "pita" in the title completely out of the water! The shawarma, schnitzel, veggie bar, side dishes...everything tastes so fresh and delicious. Try it once and you WILL be hooked.

    (5)
  • Jane D.

Food is delicious, servers are young and friendly and occasionally forgetful. The reason for not giving Levy's 5 stars is the portions vary so much. One time you get a large portion (I usually get a chicken plate) of salads that accompany the chicken other times you get very little. If you order take out you get far less than if you eat in. If they just were more consistent in their portion sizes it would be a 5 star place. It is pricey but I like to say you get what you pay for but its still too pricey. 16 dollars for a plate is a bit much. 12 or 13 would be much more reasonable.

My sister told me this place is better than pita plus. I completely disagree. It is more expensive, and much more dirty. I went to the restroom to wash my hands there was no soap and no paper. I would not go there again.

Food was great. The shawarma pita was very good, 4 stars or so. The babaganush hiding in the bottom of the pita was delightful. However, the rice and beans stole the show - they were amazing! You may not think to order them, but give them a try - they totally blew my hair back. Wouldn't hesitate to have lunch here again.

When I get a hankering from some falafel or shwarma, this is where I turn. Whenever work requires me to be down that way, it puts a smile on my face knowing I can hit up Levy's. I have been to their old locale, in the same shopping center and their new one. The new store is clean and comfortable. Everything I have had there has always been delicious and fulfilling. Great spices and healthy portions are served and everything is made to order. The complimentary pickled foods are also a nice treat. I would like to try some other menu items as the chicken made on Fridays looks awesome. This will continue to be my go to spot.

Amazing shwarma--and a great bargain! Tasty meat pilled high on a fresh, fluffy pita. A great selection of toppings, from hummus and tahini to coleslaw and parsley. I went at lunch time so it was a bit hectic; I was confused where to go to ask for water. However, the food was tasty so I forgive it. The pita was served with a side of rice and beans. The noodles in the rice gave it a good texture and the beans themselves were well-seasoned. They complemented the shwarma very well. The meal also includes access to the restaurant's salad bar. I had carrot salad (one of my favorite Israeli dishes). This one was made with jalapeno and had a nice slight kick. For $9, it was a real bargain. A lot of amazing food, I was really full by the end of the meal. I'm for sure coming back for lunch here next time I'm in the area! It was delicious! It's going to be tough convincing myself to try something new because the shwarma was outstanding (though I really want to try their falafel, it looked and smelled great!). P.S. It's Kosher food. Remember not to crave it on Saturdays (when they're closed in observance of the Shabbat) or you'll be dissapointed.

Discovered this place while waiting for my number at the auto tag agency next door. Yep its deli style and you have to navigate your way through the crowd, but the food is super fresh and well worth it. Great for vegans!!! I've had a special falafel plate combo with mixed veggies!!! Melted in my mouth!

Thank you Yelp again for heading me in the right direction. Was returning my rental car for a 5:00 PM flight back to San Francisco and wanted to get something to eat other than the crap offered at the Fort Lauderdale Airport. Ordered the felafel which comes with fried potatoes (not French fried). Amazing large and juicy goodness. The real joy was watching the surrounding diners. Next table 4 ladies of a certain age with blue hair and amazing application of lipstick eating matzo ball soup and than all tearing into massive corned beef sandwiches. Absolutely priceless!! Service on the edge of gruffness which paired well with the atmosphere. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked great. Too bad it is 3000 miles away. You are very lucky if you live in the area.

Tried going for lunch. Walked in and wasn't greeted. Not sure if it was a sit down or cafeteria style restaurant? Grabbed a couple of menus and sat ourselves... Still no help, yet there were plenty of employees around. After looking over the menu we decided on the shawarma plate. Approach the counter to order only to be told they didn't have any shawarma! 1145 and no shawarma? Place wasnt even busy yet. Will not attempt this place again. Guess the owner was to busy stocking bread to offer any suggestions.

  • Natalie W.

Ridiculously good. Where to begin? First, the gestalt: interesting atmosphere. Others have commented on its chaotic nature, which I view as a positive. Customers are bantering with the grillmaster; the owner, who occasionally breaks out in Hebrew sung-prayers; the Latina waitress/cashier; and with each other. There's a sense of community at this restaurant, for sure. Was here playing "doctor's wife" while my husband was at a conference in Hollywood, and undertook our meals-out planning seriously. I wanted to find food that just isn't available in Portland, OR, and this place fit the bill. The food: I ordered the "young chicken" plate both times we went there in our five-day stay. It was so fabulous the first time, that I couldn't bear to be disappointed the second time around. The grillmaster gave me a free sample across the counter, and that's what hooked me. Said plate includes a pile o' meat, hummus w/ tahini, baba, eggplant salad, the Israeli cuke/tomato/onion/parsley quadfecta, and some kind of spicy relish. But perhaps the star attraction was the salad bar, touted as "amazing" by the staff...and I must concur. Note that all salad stuff is pickled and pre-mixed veggies...not components. I am OBSESSED. There's Israeli carrot salad, pickled turnips, and some kind of cabbage delight. The owner wouldn't divulge his recipes, but I searched online and found what I think are dupes, which I'm going to try to make today at home. DO NOT go back for a third serving, like I did, because you just may have cruciferous intestinal revenge bloat with a side of that spicy relish. My husband's a GI doc, and I'm no delicate flower...and I think TMI might help you out here. You're welcome. It's just that good. Restrain yourself. "Fries" are some kind of chip/homefry hybrid. Freshly made. Yum. Rice and beans have a turmeric tint and complex flavor, plus those strange little Rice-a-roni noodles flecked throughout...a well-thought-out dish, and I have to say I liked it better than the Cuban rice and beans I had several time during my stay. The pita is fresh and pillowy. No pocket, but you'll want to use it to scoop up everything else, prolly not stuff it. OK, OK....I'm getting into tl;dr territory. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. It'll be the first place I stop next time I'm w/in 100 miles of it, in beautiful, humid, sunny Florida.

Hey the name should be little Israel. I thought it was a real Jewish Deli I ordered a pastrami sandwich and it was like something cut out of Boars Head meats. Will maybe try it one more time. I am Jewish and felt like I was in the market place with just talk talk talk. Good luck

I tried this place out because of the high reviews. I was super confused when I walked in, am I supposed to sit down or order at the counter? The guy behind the counter asked me what I wanted so I ordered. Sat down but then had to get up and get my own food and silverware. The "waiter" served the table next to me. I never even got a drink. Oh, and I had to walk up to get my bill and pay. Wouldn't have minded any of that except other tables were being sat and served? Overall, for spending $20 on chicken breast with veggies, it wasn't worth it to me. The food was just ok, the place wasn't that clean and there wasn't any service. But, that's just my opinion.

NO STARS! Sitting here now. $16 pastrami sandwich. Waitress spoke little English and didn't know what caraway seeds were. They don't serve rye bread with caraway seeds. Had to go to the chef to ask. Waitress tattooed on the back of the neck with a bow. Looks, trashy! Told her I didn't want water so she didn't bother to ask my husband, and he got nothing to drink. She took no drink order from him. Asked for HOT PASTRAMI, got COLD pastrami, the SALTIEST I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I have NEVER in my life walked away from a pastrami sandwich before today. Seriously! Can't eat second half of the sandwich...TOOOOOOoooo salty! Waitress didn't bring mustard, had to go to chef and ask for that. She saw us standing and looking at her from the table wanting to leave, she walked away and bussed table. Had to go again to the counter to ask for our check. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Having fantasy meal in my head as we drove away of KATZ DELI ON HOUSTON ST IN NYC! OMG! I wish I could be there now! Hasn't been good deli in South Florida since WOLFIES closed down. Won't ever be back!

This is my favorite kosher place. I really enjoy their falafel. Its not over fried or dried out. They have lots of different salads to add to your pita and their hummus and tahini is the right consistency and flavors. They have plates out for you to get your own pickles and cabbage salad. You also fill your own glasses with water. Their french fries are more like slices of fried potatoes (kind of like chips) and their rice and beans have a great spice on it. The schwarma is also incredible. Their pitas are fluffy and fresh. I recommend this place to all my friends. They have fair prices.

This place has amazing falafel! Try the beans side dish too. Pretty much anything you order is amazing. You really can't go wrong!!! Yummy!

  • Karina R.

This place has absolutely delicious food. The dinner plate is a little pricey, but the portions are huge and you can easily share it or have leftovers for another full meal. All the salads are made fresh, the beans are delish, and you must try their curried pickled carrots in their garnish bar. The ordering process was a little confusing, but otherwise, it was great and worth every penny.

As a middle eastern chef myself; I have to say...Levy's is the best you are going to get in South Florida when it comes to Sharwarma, and Kabob sandwiches. The seasoning on the meats and all the extras is to die for! They get crowded so be patient if it is a bit of a wait. It's worth it!!! If you get the Falafel, order it with the french fries inside the sandwich!!

Just got home after having a delicious meal at Levy's . This was our second visit to this cool, authentic little place in strip mall in Hollywood FL. From the minute you walk in the door you get a comfortable and warm feeling. We started with an appetizer of babaganush. I am telling you now , this is the best , freshest and tastiest babaganush I have had. Just the perfect amount of garlic, eggplant , olive oil and what ever other delicious ingredients that create this dish . Our waiter JOHNNY was amazing , attentive, and funny! This guy made our experience ( both this time and during our 1st visit) so enjoyable ! We shared a shwarma dinner platter. Again fresh and delicious combo of lamb and turkey shredded/ carved and grilled. It is served with a 2 sides , we chose the rice pilaf and beans, both of which compliment the shwarma nicely. Also Johnny brought us a full plate of side salads including : humus, tahini, Israeli salad, grilled eggplant and grilled peppers. All delicious ! Plus another small plate of assorted pickled veggies. I have eaten in numerous similar places in NYC but Levy's in Hollywood is tastier CLEANER and all around my favorite place for shwarma hands down. No wonder this place has been here for years ! I'm just glad I finally discovered it. Prices are super reasonable and portions are generous . Don't forget to ask for Johnny as your server. You will be happy you did !

I went here with friends for the first time tonight. The food was EXCELLENT, I wish that we had something like this in Boca. First of all, the place was packed, so I guess that others think it's good, too. The server was F*A*S*T, helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough for us. The food was great! The place is clean, really clean, although the decor is bare bones. If you're looking for a real, kosher corned beef sandwich, sliced thin, hot, on fresh rye bread..... or anything Israeli in a laffa or pita, this is the place to go!

This is some pretty tasty middle-eastern (more specifically Isreali, I believe) food. I had the shawarma pita which is constructed in Subway-like choose your own condiments fashion. It tasted pretty good. The meat was well seasoned and I loved the hummus and cilantro. As a side, I had the rice and beans. They were good, but ultimately they were rice and beans (if that makes sense). I took a star off because the place is a bit on the pricey side. It was like $15 for a pita and a drink. The food is good, but that's steep.

Levy's Kosher of Hollywood is a great place for lunch and it's not far from the beaches. We went here for lunch looking for some hot pastrami on rye but "forgetabout it" this place is know for their middle eastern cuisine. So we had the lamb schwarma with some side salads and drinks. The schwarma was very good with lots of flavor. The meat was a bit chewy but tasty. The salads were also very good, glad we didn't get the fries. We added a side of hummus which was good, not great but good. This place is a little on the pricey side at just over $10 for a schwarma combo, not including the hummas but worth it based on the flavors.
