This is your classic peruvian hole in the wall type of place. Very good for lunch, and the best here is the Anticuchos, true peruvian style!!! (So if you don't like spicy you have to let them know) I recommend the Lurin breakfast, is good. The aji de gallina is good also. But I must warn you, if you don't like salt or if like low salt in your food you have to tell them to lower the salt. Two things we peruvians go in excess is salt and spices.

Been trying different Peruvian restaurants lately. Almost any place you go to is going to have mixed reviews so I go by the average of the most recent when picking. This is my first time here. It's a small place but we found it was worth going. At 6:45 on a Friday evening, it was not busy but by 7:30 it was almost full. Our server (a man) was very helpful and answered all our questions. They have a photo album of large pictures of their dishes and a good menu. My wife had the Saltado 954 ($13.49). Beef, chicken and shrimp with sautéed veges, white rice and French fries. Very good.. I had the Arroz Chaufa de Carne ($10.49). Sautéed beef strips mixed in fried rice. I have had this in other places and it was dry, like it spent time in a oven. This was not dry but moist and flavorful. The 3 pepper sauces they bring are very tasty and not too spicy. We will be back !!

Simple, not fancy and small restaurant. The ceviche is good, portion is not small. The lomo saltado is tasty, good portion size, you can even share it if you have appetizers. The Huancaina sauce is not the best I had, could be better. Service is nice and friendly but disorganized, not trained. Good place for a quick meal. You won't be amazed but won't be disappointed either.

Came here because of the rave reviews. Kind of partial to Peruvian as that's where I was born. This place did not live up to the hype. Gave it 2 stars for the lovely waiter, whom was overwhelmed as he was the only one here. Kept apologizing for all of the delays. Bread on Chicharron sandwich was not edible, cold and stale. The churrasco meat was too grizzly. Only star was the Chicha. Keep on driving by....

I would have not found this place if it wasn't for yelp. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall with limited parking spaces in the front that fills up fast. There's only about two parking spaces for each business. We managed to find a spot in the back, though it wasn't easy. Though parking was a little difficult, I can say the food was worth it. They have the freshest, tastiest ceviche and it always comes in pretty presentation. We ordered the ceviche mixto. It was heavenly-- all the squid, octopus, shrimp, scallops. I ordered the mariscos saltado, which came with rice & fries. I loved the seafood & rice with the sauce, but not too big on fries. I always like tasting everyone's dishes (I guess I want it all) so I tried the steak & a seafood soup. The steak was a good cut-- fatty and juicy. The seafood soup was creamy and had a good mix of seafood- even had a giant crab claw and I think maybe rice in it too. I really liked our waitress; she was very polite, helpful, and attentive.

Their lunch specials are decent. All around an ok place, however, if it wasn't for the many lunch specials to go with missing utensils. Also their jalea tastes old and hard, their pasta verde con bistec, was over salty and meat very bad quality. Their ceviche has a weird taste like if they use bottled lemon juice, instead of real lime juice. Really think better quality ingredients are needed.

Let me start by saying there's a reason for the 2 star rating even though I enjoyed the food. I found this place just browsing through Yelp for a Peruvian restaurant. As always I arrived after lunch so it was completely empty. My server was short snd to the point, no small talk. I always choose the same dish whenever I'm trying a new Peruvian restaurant. The Lomo Saltado is my favorite go to dish. They have an extensive menu with lunch specials available. If you've never tried the Chicha Morada (a purple corn drink) I definitely recommend it, however it is an acquired taste. My dish was delicious, and hearty! Great flavors! I would most likely return, BUT! Here's where my 2 star rating takes place. When the waitress brought the check I noticed she already put a zero in the tip section which I didn't put much thought into. I just added the tip to the customer copy receipt not realizing that any tip left via credit card is NOT given to the servers. I asked why, but she did not have an answer. It appears the owners are taking their tips unless you leave them cash. I don't want to speculate, but it definitely sounds shady! And for that reason they get 2 stars. UPDATE!! The owner was kind enough to contact me and explain that they do in fact pay their waitresses credit card tips as well as a higher hourly salary than most restaurants. According to the manager he feels that perhaps the waitresses are saying this in order to take home cash instead of waiting for the credit card transaction.

This place is amazing! The portions are generous! The prices are like most places. Great flavorful dishes qith plenty of variety. Place is clean. Ample parking. The staff provides quick and friendly. Andres was great to male conversation and help you choose dishes. We will be back as many times as possible since we have plenty of dishes we want to try. You will not be disappointed and of you are, let them know why. They will try their best to correct it.

The Best Peruvian Breakfast you will have in Broward County!! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious breakfast. I am planning on coming back to try their lunch and dinner specials but so far they get 5 stars for an incredible breakfast.

Had the ceviche mariscos as an appetizer and then chupe mariscos for my lunch. They were fantastic! The ceviche was tastefully spicy, with the right balance of the vinegar and spices. The soup had loads of seafood, including crabs and shrimp. It had a lot of flavor! The servers were very courteous and catered to your needs in a timely manner. I definitely will be going back to this place. The only downside is that it took a while to find a parking spot,

Amazing Food, Terrible Service The food at this place is unbelievable for such little place in the middle of nowhere. Strongly Recommend the ceviche de mariscos, cholos a la chalaca, jalea mixta and arroz chaufa. Everything has a delicious flavor and is just cooked right. The bad part is that they do delivery and even take out whenever they want or can. They always claim the place is packed and that they are understaffed. Hello!! Hire someone!!

4.5 stars really. You know that kind of afternoon where you sit around for a few hours hungry but unable to figure out what you want to eat? Well that was us. Insert yelp. Pull up my bookmarks, look at the map and see what's in the area that's open and we wouldn't have to change into something fancy for...and decide on Cviche954. And boy did we pick right! We strolled in at 4 or 5pm on a Saturday expecting the place to be empty, but it was surprisingly half full. Despite visiting Peru before a lot of the menu was foreign to us and we used yelp pictures to help steer our ordering. Some of the menu has English translations but a lot of it is just Peruvian names, just a heads up if you're unfamiliar with the cuisine. FOOD Absolutely DELICIOUS. We started off with the choclo and an empanada. No complaints and the choclo really transported us back to our trip to Peru. Next out was the Piqueo 4 tentacione. Basically a sampler platter with ceviche, rice, jalea and causa. I'm very picky about my ceviche and this was one of the best I've ever had. I was expecting the causa to be a new obsession of mine, but it was lacking something for me. The rice was AMAZING and Steven C. was quickly obsessed with the jalea. SERVICE Our server wasn't the best. In fact it didn't feel quite like serving was her trade, but I'll give her a break as every other table ordered a 2 litre of Inca Kola and were able to serve themselves. Maybe she wasn't used to people ordering water and needing to refill their glasses. At the end of our meal the chef came out to talk to us and find out how we had heard about the restaurant and make sure we enjoyed everything. His visit with us alone is really pushing my review up. You could tell he really cared about his restaurant. AMBIANCE Located in a strip mall on Hollywood Blvd, it most certainly doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside there are about 9 tables and not much decor. The place itself was decorated with some pictures of the food with their names, which helped. I must comment on how clean the walls were. White paint with tables up against the walls sounds dangerous to me, I'd expect food smears and other messes, but things were really clean! PRICE $42 for two, and we left stuffed!! Honestly just order the Piqueo 4 tentaciones for $35. This is all the food you need, we even took some home.

The food at Cvich'a 954 was awesome ! As far as the food, the mix seafood ceviche we ordered is probably the best ceviche I've had in a while. It wasn't too spicy, it had a great kick, it was just right! The churrasco steak was also really good. It was super juicy and tender. The service was great, our waitress was very polite and quick on her feet. Very pleasant lady to be around. The food selection on the menu was mouth watering-- it was hard even deciding on what I wanted to eat because everything looked so good. Only complaint was the parking, not many places to park so we had to park out back and walk around. But honestly now that I've had their delicious food, I can say that the food was worth the walk and I would do it again any time! Can't wait to eat here again!

I never thought I'd wave the white flag when it comes to Peruvian food - but this was just a gross exaggeration of food. We almost finished it, but man, it was a struggle. A delicious struggle. I heard about this place at an Elite event when Margorie G mentioned this was some of the best ceviche around. After a few months of putting it off, we finally made the trip down to Hollywood to find out for ourselves. What we had: Yuca a la huancaina - we actually ordered papa a la huancaina but this came instead. We were hungry, so we shrugged it off as a simple mix up. WHOA. I am glad this came out - it was delicious. Fried sticks of yuca, smothered (and I mean SMOTHERED) in that amazing Peruvian cheese sauce. Causa De Altun - Imagine a little mountain of mashed potato with a layer of tuna in the middle - then smothered (and I mean SMOTHERED) in spicy sauces. Green and red sauces made this Christmas in July. The green sauce was delicious and a little spicy - the red one was on fire. Together they made the perfect combination. If you think mashed potato and tuna don't go well together - you are wrong. Choclo Con Queso - this seemed good, but unfortunately it wasn't. I LOVE the huge kernel corn, so imagine a chunk of cob with chunks of white cheese. This sounded perfect. Unfortunately it's just that. A chunk of corn and a chunk of cheese. No presentation, nothing special. Wouldn't get this again. Ceviche - this is why we came, unfortunately at this point we were stuffed. The ceviche was pretty large and was really good. I'd like to come back to try it again - when not so stuffed. BUT It was good enough for me to finish it off (we left some of the other things). It's pretty small inside with about 8 tables. The woman that took care of us was SUPER nice, but also SUPER slow. I had to go up to the counter to get our receipt because she wouldn't come over to the table to check us out. Also, something burned in the kitchen and the entire place filled with smoke. It's one of my pet peeves when you leave a resturant smelling like food/smoke. I hate it. I know it was probably out of there control, but seperating the dining room from the kitchen would avoid this. The place is very unassuming and would it not of been for Margories recommendation it's safe to say I would of never came here. I'm glad I did though.

Excellent breakfast, big portions and great taste. Food is authentic(I had breakfast with my wife & inlaws who are Peruvians) and best Peruvian breakfast we have found. Place was empty when we arrived and full when we left, Sunday afternoon. Only very small minus comes from the fact that service was not super fast. But they were very friendly. And apologized as they were short staffed due to one employee being sick. Outside place is very rustic and inside fast foodish, but do not let that scare you away. We will be back.,.

I enjoyed the food (I got ceviche pescado) and asked for it to be spicy. I sure got spicy! I drank four water bottles. I do not enjoy that they only have bottle drinks and nothing able to be refilled. It was definitely a good amount of fish for the price and I was left very full. I loved the 3 sauces she put on the table for the ceviche. I docked a couple stars because service came off in a weird way. I obviously do not speak Spanish and my boyfriend does, but prefers English. The lady didn't acknowledge me and just talked to my boyfriend in Spanish. Assuming this lady doesn't speak English, I ask my boyfriend for a spicy recommendation. And after three questions of me asking him to ask her, she started to speak to me IN PERFECT ENGLISH. Why didn't you just speak in English to me in the first place? Very rude. Anyways, my boyfriend got the chicken lomo saltado Togo and mixed ceviche to eat there. His ceviche never came out so there must have been some kind of miscommunication. He watched me eat my dish, waiting and waiting on his that never came. Also, she didn't even tell me what the three sauces were, she just sat them down and made me figure it out myself. Good ceviche, not so good service. I will order Togo next time.

I would give no stars for the customer service, the waitressses always seem short, unknowledgable of the menu and unfriendly. As a fellow peruvian, this is just insulting. The seafood is good most of the time.

I really loved this place. As soon as my sister and I got there, a waitress approached us and realized we didn't speak (enough) Spanish to order. She was so sweet and understanding about it and did her best to explain to us in English anything we needed help with. That would have been enough in and of itself to garner a few stars. But the food is awesome, too! We got the Crab Causa (bear with me, I don't remember all the dishes word for word) the green pollo soup, the Lomo 954 and something very similar to the Lomo but with a fried egg and plantains in it. Everything was full of flavor, very generous portions and totally affordable. All of that food cost about $43 (not including tip) but it was a ton to eat and so worth every penny. This place looks unassuming and simple from the decor, but it's a special little spot with talented cooks and sweet employees. Peruvian food is a new favorite for me now! :)

There's something about this tiny hole in the wall Peruvian restaurant that just sets it apart from all other Peruvian restaurants in south Florida for me and that would be how delicious and authentic their food is. I must admit I'm a regular now and I visit at least once a week, with that said I've never eaten anything less then delicious here they're insanely consistent with the quality and flavor of the food they put out each time. This is a casual small restaurant with around 7 to 8 tables. The decor is very minimalistic with a few pictures of famous Peruvian landmarks on the wall. The service is always friendly sometimes it can be a bit slow but each time they get better. They've been open for a year and have improved on the restaurant all around. The head chef and owner Renzo is very humble and friendly always stopping by at your table to ask how everything was and if there's anything else you need. He loves what he does which reflects on his food. If you want anything Peruvian come here. Not only do they have your typical Peruvian dishes found in most restaurants like ceviche, lomo saltado, sudado de pescado, papa la huancaina, etc... But they have your hard to find (except in your mom's kitchen) ones too like chanfainita, aguadito, cau cau, escabeche de pescado, butifarra, tacu tacu, juanes, picarones etc... Their menu literally consists of every single traditional Peruvian dish out there! I've pretty much had half their menu lol some of my must have favorites are ceviche mixto, anticuchos, arroz con pollo, jalea, tallarines con huancaina, parihuela, picarones, choros a la chalaca...who am I kidding everything on the menu is my favorite lol I know I know I'm a little obsessed hehehe. They offer crazy lunch specials from 4pm-6pm starting at $4.99 yes please! They also have different sampler platters called "pikeos" you get small portions of certain dishes that way you can try multiple dishes at once. They start with 3 different dishes in your sample platter up to 6 in one! You can also custom make your own which is genius how many time have you've been at a restaurant and they have a sampler platter and you only want two out of the three things there?!? well that's not a problem here. They also have oh so yummy desserts like cuatro leches de lucuma (by far one of the best things I've ever eaten) picarones, torta helada, different cakes, alfajores, leche asada, and my childhood favorite marcianos! They carry Peruvian beers like cusqueña and cristal. They also serve wine and natural juices. I've tried several Peruvian restaurants in Florida and I always keep coming back. When I'm in need of delicious home cooking this is where my heart and tummy brings me. I'm Peruvian and I approve this restaurant lol!

Came on a Monday and it was really nice. Staff was VERY nice and food was DELICIOUS!!!!! No complains at all. Only issue was the variety of the food. Wish there was more! They gave me ceviche (nice and hot). SUPER YUM! And I ordered the fish with two sides. I recommend coming here. It gives a nice atmosphere.

This review is just based in service. The restaurant is very small but seemed clean. My gf and i saw this place on yelp and were excited to check it We sat down and didn't see a waitress for about 10 minutes. It was obvious we hadn't been helped. She brought menus to a table that came in after us. Then walked right past me and went to another table gave them menus. Took their order. Then just walked right past me and didnt even think to provide my table with menus. I had to say something and then she looked me and disgruntle handed us menus. At that point i knew we would never get any service and for the first time in my life left a restaurant without ordering food. So my gf and i went to another restaurant down the street where we had great food and service. I had to even suggest it but i got the feeling the bad service was because i was not latin

The only reason I am giving this place 1 star at all is because the first time I went the food was decent and the waiter was very nice. That time we went the kitchen started cooking onions and filled the entire place up with smoke. It's a very small place to begin with, no more than 7 or 8 tables. The onion stench was so strong that I had to leave the restaurant and I left my boyfriend inside. My eyes were burning for hours afterwards. This time was a doozie! My boyfriend and I ordered the corvina fish which is more expensive than the regular fish ceviche and also is supposed to be tastier. When the fish came it was gamey, rubbery and hard to chew through. We ate a proof a few but I started to pick through it I noticed all the pieces were like that. I had my boyfriend taste a few pieces to confirm and we both concluded that the fish was rubbery and tasted like it had skin or something, I couldn't figure it out cause I have NEVER had ceviche that was of that odd texture. I sent the plate back and the waitress returned to tell me to the owner said it was made fresh. I told her we didn't want it. Well, when the bill came they charged us with the ceviche. Of course we told the waitress our concern and after a couple minutes of very loud chatter in the back kitchen the owner came out - only speaking Spanish (luckily I speak it too) and said the fish was good. We told her no, the fish was not good and this went back and forth. In the end we got fed up and just paid it. It was either eat the bad fish or don't eat it - but still pay for it. Never returning there again, it's a shame too because we live about 2 blocks from this location. If you want quality ceviche in the Hollywood area, search a different place. You get what you pay for. Cheap prices, cheap service.

My favorite neighborhood spot..just make sure Reno is there. .the one time I went and he wasn't. .it was not the same. .the ceviche mixto and the causas are my favorite

Not fancy and hidden but the plates are big and the prices are not that bad either. They offer cantinas for those who eat out a lot it makes sense. The choritos a la chalaca are really good and the ceviche is fresh. It is a small space so it might be better to order a take out. My only suggestion would be to get a better ventilation system but in time I am sure they will. I will definitely come back.

Stopped in at 2:00 on a Wednesday and the place was empty. It can be a little hard to find, look for the sign that says Peruvian restaurant. It's in a little strip mall next to a lawn mower store (random!) with parking spots right out front. Another thing to know is that English is not the preferred or spoken language. After glancing at the mostly Spanish menu and realizing I had no idea what the hell it said, I explained that I wanted ceviche with tigers milk with just fish and shrimp (I don't really care for the other "miscellaneous sea creatures" that are typically thrown into a ceviche mixto). Placed the order to go and paid a little over $10. As I waited I noticed the very not aesthetically pleasing interior. It was clean, just not very well decorated and no ambience whatsoever. Spanish music was playing while the tv was on, showing a Spanish cooking show. I probably wouldn't return to dine in, plus it was hot inside... I was sweating. After 10 minutes or so my food was ready. Cracked it open at home and it was kind of a big mushy mess. The tigers milk was thick, gritty, garlicky and didn't hold a candle to the one at Sr. Ceviche in nearby Pembroke Pines. The fish and shrimp were cut up into very small pieces which I really liked but it was hard to overcome the texture of the tigers milk. There was more red onion than I would have liked. The one chunk of sweet potato was mushy like it had been overboiled. I bit into big pieces of garlic. No bueno.

This place has great lunch specials! Got: Tallarin saltado de pollo with french fries - GREAT flavor, and generous portion! Tallarin verde con bistec - my boyfriend said the steak was great and had lots of flavor but the spaghetti with the basil sauce was very oily and didn't have that much flavor. Chicha morada - PERFECTION, need I say more? Overall this place is great, the staff and the chef are very warm and helpful. The lunch specials are verrrry affordable and the inside of the restaurant is pleasant. Totally coming back :)

Excellent restaurant. It was a very pleasant surprise to find this tiny little place and find out that the food was so good. I'm Peruvian and I've tried different Peruvian restaurants in the area. This is the best. I highly recommend the Ceviche, Cheese and corn, Papa a la Huancaina, Causa (this is so good). If you are meat lover, try the Lomo Saltado.

    (4)
  • Liz F.

Lomo Saltado was delightful! Nice and juicy. I will come back and definitely order To go in advance. The service was extremely, extremely slow. We were done eating and it literally took 20 min for us to pay the bill. And that's because one of us went to the front to pay. Mind you there was only ONE other table!!!! I'm not sure if the waitress was in the back either on the phone or watching the World Cup from a back tv. But she vanishes! I would understand if she had a busy lunch group. But no, she didn't really care. So yes... I will probably eat here again but I would recommend you to call in your Oder and not it there!

As promised I am writing a review for Cvich's 954. Location is convenient for locals being on Hollywood Blvd. Pulling up it doesn't look like much. But as most places with good food its not about that. The dining room was rather small, lets say 30 people max and contained Peruvian tourism posters and some photos of the food in a well presented manner. Now for the food. I looked at the menu and it was relatively normal to see all the items traditionally Peruvian. I ordered the Jalea and it came promptly within a matter of minutes. Presentation was excellent and I ate every bit of it. Very good fish, squid, clams all battered lightly and super tasty. I would recommend Cvich's 954 to anyone in the area as a go to for good Peruvian. I will be sure to add this to my go to list when time is short. You wont be dissapointed.

There isn't anything particularly great about this ceviche but, that does not mean it is bad either. The problem I have with ceviche is that I always want more! This place gives very large generous portions that left my belly very, very full. So... have I had better? Yes. But it hit the spot!

    (4)
  • Vanessa F.

It's a small, homegrown place with delicious lomo saltado. The huancaina sauce was creamy and great. The ceviche was spicy and very well executed. For desert we had a chocolate cake covered with manjar (a dulce de leche-type cream) and that was also great. Definitely recommend.

I recently was right by cvich's 954 and went for lunch. Me being a big ceviche lover i decided to try it. the restaurant is very small and quite definitely to my liking. I ordered a green tamale witch was great then i order a ceviche mixto. I was a big fan of ceviche 105 i am a friend of the owners but lately they have forgotten were they came from and the quality of there food. I hope cvich's 954 says the way they are now great quality food definitely recommend them a good EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
