The Pork and Rappini Pannino is great! Everything else we've tried is also very good...but, I'm addicted to this sandwich :-)

Stick with the pizza, it is very good. Also- ask for extra sauce, worth the extra 1$. I think it is one of the best Pizza places in South Fl, and definitely the best in Hollywood.

They gave each person at the table only one dinner roll. I've never been to an Italian place where that was done. If you wanted more, it was going to cost you. I ordered the lasagna and it was average at best. There weren't many diners in the restaurant and it was obvious why. The wait staff was more concerned about reconnecting with their friends at the bar than providing good service. My friend and I will not be returning.

Great family-owned restaurant with awesome food. I've had everything from pizza to pasta to burger to the daily specials and they have all been fresh and delicious. Only complaint is that sometimes the staff is short-handed so you might have to wait a little longer than you would like to be served. Otherwise, I would give them 5 stars!

Good dough! Airy and crunchy...perfect and easy to cut with knife. We have been there a few times with Groupon deals and we will keep going after the deals are over. Wish there were more interesting toppings, but for the classic pizza is all good.

I first discovered Capone's amazing sauce at a school carinval. I must first be honest I have only had pasta dishes here. Their rigatone noodle is super yummy . One great plus about this institution is that the staff is super accomadating. I have ordered out and eaten in and always the food is made to perfection. My parents are vegan and they love the food here and love the cook is always willing to work with them.

I am only rating and interested in you ordering their personal size pepperoni pizza. It's the best I have had and a great value at $8. The crust is terrific, crispy, with a slight sprinkle of garlic or breadcrumbs or garlic breadcrumbs or whatever, but damn it's nice, and their sauce has just a hint of sweetness. The "personal" size is perfect for me and did I say it's a deal for $8? I have no need and no business ordering larger than personal size. I get 6 small slices and my dog gets the crust. We are both sated at the end. It is all I want from them except an occasional overpriced salad as accompaniment. If I spoke about a pork loin "special" I had there with a lady friend..... I would have to alter my rating and tell you bad things. I don't want to do that. I only care that you order a pepperoni pizza. I don't even know if their pizza is as good in medium and large size. Okay, one more thing. Their Sunday gravy and their garlic rolls are great too. Just don't order a meal with vegetables cause you will hear the can opener cranking. I complained to the owners daughter (I think) about the canned veggies but she just gave me a kind of blank smiling glare through to the back of my scull because she is supposed to listen to me but didn't care about what I said. I think they could afford to point a couple lights on the few parking spaces we use at the west end of the bldg. Well dammit, I just talked myself into removing one star which is not what I intended to do!

This family-owned restaurant treats YOU like you are family. EVERYTHING on the menu is really good. I have special dietary needs and they accomadate me with no problems. All you have to do is just ask. VERY friendly place. I have referred a lot of friends to this place and they love it as well. The very few people that have wrote negative things about this restaurant complained about not being able to order pizza by the slice (this is not a FAST FOOD restaurant) or not having enough rolls (they give you so much food that more rolls would go to waste as they are HUGE rolls).

Ok. So I probably shouldn't have ordered a gyro from a pizza joint, but my co-workers wanted italian and I didn't. The gyros should be taken off the menu before someone gets food poisoning. Gyro meat should be sliced thick and it should be juicy. Capone's was thinner than deli meat and it looked like it had been sliced and then fried on a griddle like a piece of bacon. It was not sliced from the spindle. To make it worse, the wafer thin strips were crispy like bacon. In short, it was disgusting. They should leave the gyros to the greeks.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner for my brother here tonight. Christina was our server and we never went without drinks napkins, clean plates.. she was on top of it. The appetizers were on point, especially the fried zucchini sticks. You can tell they are fresh, hand breaded and served piping hot, be careful. They were delish! We also had mussels & calamari. Main dishes were fresh fish, eggplant and pizzas. All was good.

If you're coming here for "Chicago deep dish" then turn around. If you're expecting Lou malnatis, giordanos - you're in for a major fail. I'm from Chicago and I already knew I'd be disappointed but had to try it to see if it even came close. It wasn't bad but the fact it's called "Chicago deep dish" bothered me. It's more like a Pizza Hut pan pizza. If you want to have Chicago thin crust go to Villa Rose in Hollywood, Florida. If you want that authentic "Chicago deep dish" then order Lou malnatis online and have it shipped.

Great Italian food in south Florida! We loved the bruchetta, spaghetti, veal parm., and the ravioli. They have a deep dish pizza that is the closest you'll find to New York style that we've found down here. Very friendly staff. It's a regular dinner stop for us.

My favorite! The family and I have been coming to Capone's on Hollywood Blvd since they were the new kids on the block. It's been our go to spot ever since. There's nothing in this menu I don't like, the service is personalized and attentive, the owners are a young devoted couple you can't help but love -- the husband cooks, the wife serves and makes (a phenomenal) tiramisu -- and their kids' photos hang from the walls and sit on the front of the menu. My favorites: - rigatoni ala vodka: a huge portion, creamy, savory and dream worthy. - chicken parm: dinner over a bed of spaghetti or panino (comes with really yummy fries) - broccoli rabe: appetizer by itself or in a panino with pork and cheese - tiramisu: homemade and perfect - garlic roll: probably the best I've ever had - pizza: has a delicious sweet and tangy tomato sauce * if you go Friday - Sunday, make sure to lookout for specials!

I used to live a few blocks from this establishment so I would frequent it often out of convenience. Their food is pretty good and their Mexican pizza is delicious but their staff is hit or miss. They can get pretty rude sometimes when taking delivery orders over the phone. I really enjoy sitting by the water and watching the fish swim in front of the underwater lights but sometimes the intercostal is too smelly to sit out there. The customers can be pretty hit or miss too, one time I went and this cracked out girl kept trying to get my boyfriend and I to go back to her place and do coke... awkward for sure.

Had dinner with large group. Service was not good. Dinner plates were ok, but pizza was good. Broccoli rabe used to be excellent, but not this time. Garlic rolls were terrible and some burnt and overdone. Stick to the pizza!

Went over for pizza, decided to share a plate of pasta (romanoff sauce) as well. Both the med pizza and the pasta were delicious. We were being served by two younger ladies and both were extremely pleasant and helpful. The pizza was a medium size, so was the pasta and we were left with quite a bit to take home.

This restaurant is located in a strip mall and looks like it. No pleasant surprise when entering. The food was at best ordinary. Had veal parmegiana. Overcooked but nice and tender. Girlfriend had chicken parmegiana. Also overcooked and tasted bland and mushy. Accompanying pasta was also slightly overcooked. Finally got the garlic bread (pretty good) with the main meal. The tossed salad was the best part of the meal and that's not saying much. The service was prompt and friendly enough. Won't be going back.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The owner's wife commented again to my review in private. She is in complete denial. Bottom line is they don't care to fix any of the things I mentioned. She agreed that most of the problems exist, but are beyond her control.(That's is the denial.) She made some insidious comments that show she is just learning things and is an amateur business owner. Someone ask yourself if you find items like mushrooms on your pizza and you didn't order any mushrooms but the server and the cook(scoff) tell you, "Oops, some fell on there." Wouldn't that make you wonder what else fell on there? Examples, "Oops, the dust from the vent fell on there." or, "Oops, the dish washing detergent fell on there." Come on! You messed up...Don't try and sneak it through! I didn't order mushrooms on my pizza. Mistakenly putting mushrooms on a pizza and still serving it is a mistake. Knowingly serving said pizza in hopes that we didn't notice is just in very poor taste, so to speak and no pun intended. Katie, please stop harassing me. These messages are now intended for your customers. That's what yelp is for. Not for you to figure out how to run a business as you go along. Ask any restaurant business owner and they will tell you the most important thing is consistency and good word of mouth. I will tell everyone I know to stay clear of your place, not because of the terrible mistakes, but because it is evident there is no room for improvement.... and we have already gone over the"in"consistency. ------------------------------ Since I posted my review, I was sent a message by the owner's wife commenting on my review. Her message is condescending rather than apologetic. It is obvious that the management/owners at Capone's may not be aware that they are in the hospitality industry. I would like to add the definition of hospitality in hopes that it may give them a clue. ========= hospitality Noun 1. the friendly reception and treatment of guests or strangers. 2. the quality or disposition of receiving and treating guests and strangers in a warm, friendly, generous way. Hospitality is the relationship between the guest and the host, or the act or practice of being hospitable. Specifically, this includes the reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers. ========= Here are some of the comments she made...hers are in the quotes and mine are with asterisks. * She called me a Coke groupie. "John parks in the front, owner perk, work 100 hours a week get a front row spot, woohoo!" "Parking sucks during the day, yes we know, can we do anything about it, wish we could but my magic parking wand is broken..." * Sorry, that is not an owner perk. That is a mistake made by the owner who doesn't know enough about how to do business. and the sarcasm is noted and explains a lot of the attitude of the staff* She actually thinks I post on here all for her benefit. She couldn't think for a minute that I was warning everyone else who might not be able to find a spot to park. Her fault or not, If you like to drive around during your lunch break without parking then go there. If you don't like to waste your lunch break in a parking lot and be rushed to eat your lunch, then I suggest you find a place down the road. Then she insinuated that it was my fault because I didn't tell them how they are clueless. I did in fact tell them on several occasions, but all I get is excuses. To top it off, this review is enough to wake even the most stubborn restaurateur. But that isn't enough. I received nothing but excuses. I was going to continue ordering pizza from time to time in hopes of getting a good one, but I will certainly never give them any more of my business after that response. And no I was not offered another Pizza. All I got was a shrug. The server should have apologized and rushed back to put in an order for a new pizza! Hello! p.s. Keep "Cranky John" in the kitchen. Interestingly, when I clicked on her ID it said "This Yelper's account has been closed." apparently for "violating our[yelp's] Content Guidelines or Terms of Services"

Bought a groupon for this place and went there on a saturday night with my boyfriend. It was late (10) so it was kind of quiet. I ordered the clams bianco, with a side of pasta and marinara sauce. BF ordered a sausage stromboli. WOW WOW WOW. We have been to so-called 5 star "Italian" restaurants here in South FL and NONE of them compared to this little joint. My clams were FRESH and cooked just right (not rubbery). The broth it came in was delicious also; lots of yummy garlic and fresh herbs. The bread that came with it was DIVINE. The side of pasta with marinara sauce was a GENEROUS portion for $3. I could have had that as my dinner. They make their stuff from scratch. From where I was sitting I could see the chef pouring my marinara sauce onto my plate from a pan he had on the stove. You don't get made to order food like that any more. My BF's stromboli was a peace of heaven. So CHEESY. I loved that they don't skimp on the meat/cheese like some places do. The dough for the stromboli? Forget about it - out of this world! I am so so so glad I stumbled upon this place. I will definitely be back many times.

We love this place! Great pizza, nice family environment to take the kids. Wings are baked, I suggest medium garlic....mmmmmm. Pizza is the best in the area. Service has always been great and they have blue moon on tap!

The pizza here is one of the best in our area that we have tried so far; unfortunately that isn't really saying much as apparently there aren't a lot of choices where the pizza is worth the price around here. Honestly it was better when we had a discount buying them as far as value for the money spent. Typically we get one with two or three toppings and unfortunately it is often soggy. Still fairly tasty so we are going to see if less is more next time and just get something that might help with that problem...we'll see.

I would say this place is alright! Came by to order some pizza slices to go. As the waitress was taking our order, we pointed out that we wanted pizza slices. But I guess she told us that they do not serve pizza by the slice on weekends. The owner needs to place it somewhere on the menu that they do not serve pizza by the slice. So anyways, we order one personal pizza half pepperoni and half sausage. When we got out order my gosh our pizza was so oily! The pizza sauce is very light and tasty but just way too oily! I believe me and my bf both had a tummy ache. It didn't sit too well in our stomachs.

Wish they had better pizza! For a neighborhood place the entrees are ok. The pizzas were not great. Had a pan and regular and neither was very good. Service was just ok but I doubt we'll ever go back.

I used to completely overlook this restaurant, since it's at the end of a strip mall. I'm glad my mom, daughter and I decided to stop in. I've been back plenty of times since. It has a welcoming family atmosphere. The menu has Italian and Chicago specialties, along with good old American favorites. I recommend the Italian hoagie with shredded beef and broccoli rabe, personal pizzas, the various salads (the wedge is great) and the Key West Ruben with fish. I'm a wimp when it comes to spice, so I get it lightly blackened. The service is friendly and there seems to be a lot of regulars. I've never been disappointed or "ordered wrong". Another great aspect of this restaurant is that they deliver a full menu. My girlfriends came over for a movie night and we were all able to find something we enjoyed - again, great menu variety. I definitely want to sample more of their Italian dishes. Just an excuse to keep going!

Capone's is very cozy and friendly. The personal pizza is big enough to share. My daughter loved the calzone. I would definitely go back there. Pizza was yummy!!!

  • Monica M.

I will start off with the positive things. The food, is great. I love their pizza, and especially the lasagna. However, you need extreme patience when eating here. I have worked in this industry for over 7 years and have never had such consistently horrible service! I went with my family one night, my father and I ordered pasta and my mother ordered a calzone. Server didn't say anything about it taking along time, in fact, when she brought out the 2 pastas she said the calzone would be "right out". She then disappeared to the back of the restaurant to sit with her children who were coloring and watching cartoons on the TV. (If you were expecting any of the games, you're out of luck) Over 30 minutes past, our drinks were empty and there was still no sign on the calzone, and even flailing your arms around couldn't seem to get anybody's attention, (not kidding, I tried)as they were all too busy chatting behind the bar. My mother finally got up with her empty cup and walked over to get a refill and check on the calzone. Again, she was told it would be "right out". My father and I finished our pastas and sat there in disbelief. The server FINALLY came to check on us and refill drinks (45 minutes in) and immediately started making excuses. Well its the kitchens fault, they didn't time it right."and "Calzones take a long time to make anyway". Not once was a simple apology uttered. This was just the most recent incident. The time before, another servers children were there as well (free day care i guess) but clearly were not disciplined. Running up and down, banging on peoples chairs, coming up to all the tables and talking to people during their meals. I understand this is a family run business, but I do not pay to go out to eat and have screaming kids running around and cartoons on the TVs. I'd stay home for that. Even if there was an accident and the order had to be re-done, or if you didn't ring it in. Be upfront with your customer. They are much more patient when they are expecting the longer wait in advance. Ensure they are comfortable, keep checking on drink refills etc. Don't hang out with your friends and family hiding in the back of the restaurant. Clearly service basics are not taught to staff, either that or they just don't care. Needless to say we will NEVER be eating here again. Which is a shame cause we all love Capone's Flicker Lite in Hollywood Beach, we though this would be the same quality service closer to home. WRONG.

  • Rachele S.

Capone's Italian Pizzeria is a special favorite of mine. Their service is always great, and the food is always fresh. Their pasta dishes taste homemade and never have that precooked "boiled bag" taste that lots of chain restaurants seem to have. The restaurant is rather small, and cozy enough for the local residents to visit with their families or even couples to come on a date. For example, my husband and I visited here the night we got engaged; the restaurant is small enough for intimacy, yet lively enough for fun and laughs with the family. During our last visit there, we ordered the Italian Chicken Tenders as an appetizer, and the Sausage and Peppers pasta dish. The portions were large enough for the two of us to share. Not to mention that fact that salad and garlic rolls come with the pasta dish, so we had more than enough to eat and take home. The sausage and peppers dish was delicious and tasted so fresh and wholesome, reminding me of a home-cooked meal you would have at an Italian-American Sunday dinner table. The chicken tenders were pretty good too, but they had a bit of a fried fish taste to them instead of chicken flavor. The only thing I would say that I dislike about Capone's is the fact that they boast their Chicago-Style pizza. Me being a Chicago native, I would strongly disagree. The pan pizzas there have a thick crust with tomato sauce and a typical upper cheese layer. In Chicago, the crust is thin and the cheese layer is piled on thick over the crust with the tomato sauce at the very top layer. I must say that I was a bit disappointed about this, but it did not stop me from enjoying the restaurant overall. I would recommend the restaurant anytime.

Great pizza! We came late after arriving to miami from a road trip. We called ahead and the owners were okay with us coming even if they were going to close soon. We had a groupon and they made the pizza ahead of time. As we arrived, the pizza was already waiting for us at the table nice and hot and the owner was calling us to let us know our pizza was ready (at the same time we were walking in the door), which was very considerate of them. Owner was very attentive to our needs and we ate and left. She also gave us a few Miami tips and told us of some less touristy things to do. Will return again if in the Hollywood area.

have dined at this restaurant many times food always great. Looking for great Italian catering, give them a try. They catered our Christmas party last night, it was awesome! Pasta with broccoli, garlic parmesan chicken wings, baked ziti , and the most amazing smoked marlin dip. our guests were very happy!

It's not far away from us so I went in with my brother and our two young daughters. I wanted to order a meat-lovers but make one half just pepperoni. "We can't do that" it's suppose to be a fresh made pie so why not? Fine make it all pepperoni and thin crust please with two kids spaghetti $6.50 for plain spaghetti with just a little butter. The waitress asked if we wanted them brought out at the same time and we said yes. The spaghetti came out first and I figured the pie would be right behind; nope I was wrong. About fifteen minutes later our pie showed up and it was not thin crust either.

OKAY- SO- The pizza was good... not great, not bad either. Why Capone's is getting two stars has way more to do with the service. The person who took our order took down all the wrong information... wrong phone number... wrong coupon code etc. Then the delivery person YELLED at us and said he is never delivering to us again because he couldn't get into the apartment gate (because the girl took down the wrong phone number..) It was not our fault, and it was crazy. I am still blown away by his yelling.

Awesome food! Can't go wrong with family-owned restaurants! The Brushetta was great as an appetizer. And the Chicago-style Pepperoni deep dish we got was amazing!! Can't wait to go back and try the wings!!!

Amazing pizzas, stellar service - my only complaint is that the ambience isn't quite as warm and quiet as I like in a little pizza place, but it's very nice nonetheless!

This was my first time here and it will be my last. Found it to be very expensive and the food not good. The Pizza had no taste was the worst. If you want pizza with a lot of dough, this is the place to go.

Yummy pizza, friendly service. Very cold though bring a jacket! I'm watching the breeze blowing menus around as I write this. They would not adjust the temperature. We got free glass of wine with yelp deal.

WRONG.

Had dinner with large group. Service was not good. Dinner plates were ok, but pizza was good. Broccoli rabe used to be excellent, but not this time. Garlic rolls were terrible and some burnt and overdone. Stick to the pizza!
