This the only B&B to visit and stay while in High Springs. The welcome by Paul and Lucie is just the start of your spectacular stay. The rooms are well appointed The town offers some very good and interesting dinning experiences near by are the springs which is well worth a visit,a great family tubing adventure. The breakfast was out of this world, fresh fruit and cream, fresh baked scones, coffee cake (warm) .i thought that was it,when the to die for pancakes arrived delivered by Lucie while Paul expounded about the inn and interesting history -
Paul and Lucie are so inviting and the breakfast Lucie makes cannot be beat. We went to the Itchnetucknee after and didnt need lunch till 3! It is nice to be so close to the itchentucknee,,, you can get there early to get your spot and not have to wake up at 5:00 Beautifully manicured yards/garden + elegant and cozy on the inside.
Paul and Lucie are the quintessential outstanding B&B hosts. Paul educated us on the wonders of a 'Bubbler' while Lucie brewed up a terrific breakfast that was sumptuous AND healthy! A warm welcome, easygoing recommendations to allow off the beaten track diversions of interest and an outstanding personalized stay characterize their stay memory. Each member of my family were addressed by their name from Hello to See Again Soon. Engaging our interests and 1 to 1 conversation for every one of us was typical. The home was meticulously maintained, extremely comfortable and ALL the "little things" were thought of and just right. For a 6 mile detour off the I-75 north Florida stretch, this is a wonderful way to begin your vacation before you get to the beach! Stop, stay and you'll learn how to relax on your way to or from!

Santa Fe Ford just had Bev's cater a lunch for 60 employees the food was delicious the service was great and the price was great. Less than we would have paid to cook it ourselves. The new Café addition and the addition of the barbecue menu is always provides a delicious meal as well as the drive thru locations. I am sure we will have Bev's cater again..
Love this place...great fresh cooked burgers and the best caramel milkshake ever...there is little bit of a wait but well worth it...fries were great as well
All I can say is you have got to be kidding me! The food was so not what I expected from a"burger joint ". Let's start with the battered deep fried bacon! My wife swore, My eyes glazed over. Our vivacious and ever attentive waitress suggested an off the menu club sandwich made with pulled pork, smoked turkey, slow smoked beef, cheese, deep fried onions, fried bacon between three slices of Texas toast. Life changing, she said... Nailed it! Awesome old time diner feel, amazing food with great prices. Felt like we fell into Mayberry everyone was so friendly. If you don't stop here when you pass through, you're missing a gem!

Chef’s Table Bistro

Stopped here for the first time for brunch. I had the chicken salad sandwich. It was fresh and just the right balance of seasoning. The Rosemary was a nice touch. My spouse had the grits florentine and he says two thumbs up. Very sweet waitress Kelsey. I will continue to drive from Newberry to try more dishes.
Chef's Table Bistro was not on Yelp. I put it on Yelp. It needs to be on Yelp!!! It is new and as of today is open one week. They will have beer as soon as they get the license. Monica and I were driving in the country (in the middle of no where - just cattle ranches and horse farms). I said to Monica - I need a Cuban sandwich. We stopped into a gas station to stretch and get Chop out of the car for a bit and we spotted a little restaurant next to the gas station. (In High Springs FL). I walked over to look at the menu. A cute girl (Brianna) that was friendly and cheerful gave me a menu to look at. I spotted great looking sandwiches and people were coming and going and I then spotted a Cuban Sandwich! (I walked back to the car and told Monica - I found my Cuban. They have a great outside patio. They welcomed Chop and Brianna brought him water and was very helpful and patient with our decision making (My decision was made already). The food came and it looked beautiful. My Cuban was outstanding and looked it too. It was on Artisan bread and the Roast Pork was full of great flavor and tender and the ham was high quality like Boars Head. The slice or 2 of Salami on it gave a great boost In flavor. It was the best Cuban I ever tasted. Monica got the Chicken Salad and it was great and looked great. The food was very reasonable and the service was great. After we got our food - the cook came out and asked if It was good - With mouth full I mumbled Awesome!!! Great!! Yummm! After we were almost done the owner came out and asked if we liked the food and service - with mouth full I mumbled - Awesome! Great!! Love it!! Brianna checked on us and we were so happy to find this gem in the middle of no where. I hope they do a great business and stay open for ever. I'll go out of my way to visit again. I saw on the door they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've added some photos too.
While I wasn't as impressed as other reviewers, Chef's Table is beyond and better than most cafés with a menu focused on sandwiches: the selection and presentation are pretty top-notch, really. My ham and cheese sandwich was as good as one could expect for this simple sandwich and the side options are superior than most: I chose a red pepper hummus, which was a far better idea than the chips or cole slaw many places would offer. The menu has hamburgers, a few salads and an ample selection of sandwiches--a Cuban, a club, a meatball sub, and a few others. Several restaurants have tried this location and not lasted very long but the quality and wise offerings of Chef's Table may make it a winner here. The interior isn't anything special at all, but the outside patio is nice enough in good weather and the staff is friendly.

I was starting to think the reviews on yelp must have been paid or friends or something with everyone talking about the fried chicken, but it really is that good! It was incredibly moist with the most perfect crunchy seasoned skin. My side salad, while nothing more than iceberg, tomatoes, and shredded cheese, was nice and cold and good blue cheese dressing. My fiancé had the country fried steak and said it was good, but he prefers white gravy instead of brown. He also enjoyed the green beans (but they were typical overlooked with bacon diner style). We dashed in close to closing, but the staff was very nice and the place is cute.
The BEST fried chicken I've ever had! Anywhere! Small place in a small town but fried chicken is perfect! Not greasy, juicy inside, made fresh!
BEST fried chicken, ever! Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, never oily or greasy. Whoever is in the kitchen knows how to handle the fryer. Even their fried mullet and catfish comes out crispy and moist inside. Large variety of well seasoned sides to choose from to accompany your order. I hated grits my entire life, which is many, many decades of hate until I tried Alice's grits, now I am a huge fan of grits. Feels like you walked into a time capsule when you first step inside Alice's but then you realize why it's been around for so long...it is good southern cooking!

This place was incredible. Our sandwiches were great and the lovely ladies that work there were friendly and welcoming.
Hi, I've always loved this place since the day it opened but today I went there after about a six-month hiatus and although the food was still excellent, I noticed a few changes and I wanted to mention them. I got the Cuban, my standard, but the portion was much smaller and I noticed upon ordering the price had gone up. When I got my food I was expecting the big nice sandwich it used to be which would explain the pricing increase to 8.50, but I was disappointed to find it was much smaller. It was still delicious but instead of making two meals, now just one. There were no lemons for the ice tea, a southern standard and there was sort of a grumpy guy working the counter. There's always several older man just sitting around in there hanging out but I've never seen one working the counter before which was another disappointment. A new customer came in and asked the man behind the counter how was the pasta salad, and his answer was I don't know I don't eat it. Wow. Really. So me being my helpful self, told the guy the pasta salad was excellent, which it is.. So I'm not complaining about the food taste and quality, I'm more complaining about the atmosphere changes in the portion sizes. If you've never gone there from the beginning, you wouldn't even know and you would probably love this place........ as I used to.
The employee was extremely rude. They closed at 1:00 and decide they were done for the day.

Great Outdoors Restaurant

Reviews:
We live in High Springs and Great Outdoors is a decent restaurant. I have tried many items on the menu and they were generally good. I'm not sure what's happened over the last couple years, the food quality has significantly dropped. There is less care in preparation and the flavors are not as good.
New, clean and has local art through out. We had the fried green tomatoes and they weren't the best. The turkey burger was good but I was pretty hungry after canoeing at ginnie springs. Our server refilled my drinks and severed our food while it was hot. What else could you ask for? We found two local places I would love to take all my visitors too. The Great outdoors and ginnie springs. It would be nice to go back and hear their bands play especially since Trombone Charlie's is gone.
Fabulous food. Good service. Comfortable atmosphere. We love this restaurant and travel about 45 minutes just to eat here.

Reviews:
Yep - its another Subway. The bonus is that the sandwich makers/employees here are always courteous, fast, and efficient. They make good subs by the Subway book and get you out the door. The dining area is getting old and tired. The layout isn't very efficient either. The entry door opens into a table area that draws in the hot summer air. The rest of the tables against the window lack airflow. The sub line also forms along these window seats and people have a tendency to stare at you while they are in line waiting for their subs. Parking is good. There isn't much competition for a spot.
