I had never ordered from these people before and I never will again. This is my first and only experience with them. I had made an order and was never told of any delay. They actually estimated about 45 minutes. Which was fine by me since it was lunchtime and can moderately anticipate that they had a rush. I had ordered a simple chicken ready with rice/beans and plantains with a side of fries. I didn't have any idea that it takes an hour to make it and 45 minutes to deliver. After an hour I called them and asked about my order. They said "it just went out and should be there in 10-15 minutes". A half-hour later I called again and the guy on the phone said... Oh it JUST left 2 minutes ago. It should be there in 10-15 minutes. WHAT?!!!????! Didn't they tell me that 30 Minutes ago!!!? After 1:45 later I finally got my food, lukewarm, and the quality not as good as can be expected for waiting over an hour and a half. They obviously had my food just sitting around because they forgot and then sent someone in a hurry. My job is maybe a 10 minute drive at best from their location. They lied to me, whether by accident or on purpose 2x. When they took my order and then again when I called to check it the first time. Maybe 3x if they had lied when I asked the 2nd time. They are not that good, they are not that cheap, and they are not that serviceable to make food worth one hour and 45 minutes wait.

The Cuban food deserves a four star review but it's a dive so three. Visiting from Atlanta GA (all our best restaurants are dives too) this one stuck out as a must-try. Glad I stopped. Delicious grilled chicken topped with onions, side of rice, black beans and fried plantains. Nothing fancy, just a solid Cuban style meal for $7

love their churasco steak know I spelled it wrong. but for $8.99 the portion is great and the steak is yummy. I love going for lunch it is great value for the price. the portion is really good and the rice and beans are the best tasting I have ever had. the service is good the girls are really nice. it is a small restaurant but I have never had a problem getting a table for lunch. I highly recommend it.

Don Lolo's doesn't look like a classic restaurant. It looks more than a basic cafe so you shouldn't be confused by its looks. It's been the place I've chosen for a couple of years as my must go place for those days I'm not dressed up and want a relaxed lunch or dinner in the area. They have a combination of Mexican and Cuban cuisine, but their Cuban options are more "original" than the Mexican which are not bad at all either. They have outdoor seating and service is good and gentle.

Pretty tasty! Nice staff. Served the fajitas de carne on a cast iron pan which was cool because it was so fresh. Recommended! Probably will eat here again if I'm in the area.

I've eaten at a ton of Cuban restaurants and this little place is by far my favorite. The food is always hot, delicious and the service is great too. If I had a Cuban grandma, I would hope the food would taste just like theirs. Yummy!

With your choice of authentic Mexican or Cuban dishes, you can't go wrong! Many options and delicious food! Great service a well.

Family owned hole in the wall restaurant that offers good food at good prices! We used to go to La Granja a block away regularly but decided to try this little spot and never went back to La Granja again. The black beans are the most flavorful ive had in the 11yrs I've lived in S Florida and their Churassco steak is the best priced! The Mexican food is really good too! The service isn't always the best, but its also not the worst. Now that we've become regulars were taken care of well....unless theres a new server.

Visiting from Los Angeles. The Florida dudes wanted Mexican I wanted Cuban. Everyone wins here. Empanadas are fuego, Mexican food is legit. -extremely pleasant surprise.

If you are in the middle of a thunderstorm...and traffic is really backed up...and you can't wait the extra mile to get to Taco Bell, then don lolos is a great idea! Surprisingly good given the first impression. PS Don't ask for Mountain Dew. They don't have it.

I wish there were zero stars. I don't know why I have stupidly given this place business again! NEVER AGAIN. That idiot lady that answers the phone screwed our order up yet again and argued with me, instead of make it right. This place has bad service, and the food has went way down the drain along with their portions and quality! Rip off! Avoid this place at at all costs. Go right up the street to Padrino's Cuban cuisine instead, where they make good food and value your business.

Lunch special is a deal and the food is so good. Super small place only a few tables but can't complain the food is always fresh and so tasty. Fried pork is real good as well as the chicken with all sides. Haven't had a bad meal here and the people are very nice

This place is great, when the owner is cooking - but if he is not there, forget it. Same for the table service, when his daughter or son-in-law are there it is great, but anyone else - forget about it!! A pleasant dining atmosphere is not a television on a Latin novella and a Latin rap channel playing everywhere else. It appears that no one wants to have this place succeed except those who dined here when they opened and were trying to show everyone what they could do. It is a shame because it could be great, but it is obvious to many that if they do not get back to the basics this place will be gone!

The cusine is Mexican and Cuban, but is decidedly more Cuban. The food is fantastic, especially for the price and value. The grouper filet is fab, so are the masas de puerco. Their palomilla is a crowd pleaser, and so is the skirt steak. Their salsa is homemade and very zesty and flavorful. Many thumbs up! :-)

  • Drew M.

Don Lolo's remains an excellent restaurant- for the food- but the staff refuses to learn how to create a special dining experience. There's no music other than radio, and the TV is always on. Not classy. It could be a cute little place, but they treat it like just a fast-food joint. The food remains excellent, however, and the prices absolutely cannot be beat.

This is South Broward's best kept secret. While you can choose from Mexican or Cuban dishes, you really can't go wrong with any selection. I was only disappointed once when I arrived for lunch on a Saturday and was told that they ran out of pork chunks. That's a huge no-no, especially for discerning Miami patrons seeking traditional Cuban fare. Otherwise, food is great and prices are incredibly affordable. It even recently got the seal of approval (check out the framed pics) from The Food Network's own Guy Fieri, who could have dined anywhere in Miami but came to this humble spot because a good friend recommended it. I couldn't agree more.

I stumbled across this place by mistake but boy was I happy to come across it! The food and value were great! I had the Chorisco Steak and it was awesome. It was tender and not too fatty. I love this place and for $8 you can't really beat it and the service was great as well.

In my never ending quest for good Mexican I made a U-turn on Hallandale Beach just to try this place. I ordered crispy tacos, caldo de pollo and guacamole. Um - very taco bell'ish. Where I'm from we don't put ground beef in tacos - thats a NoNo. I haven't tried the Cuban so I can't speak for those dished which get great reviews. I can say the taste of the soup - VERY BLAND. I won't be coming back. If you like cuban food - try it. If your looking for Mexican - Don't.

If you want bang for your buck, this is the place. The portions are good, the staff is friendly, and the food is good. I can't recommend any thing because I like every thing on the menu. Please support them. I'm sure it's not easy being a family owned restaurant. I'm not a family member, but I eat there once a week, and hope to for many years to come.
