I've come here numerous times and am always very pleased. This spot is a great example of the N.Y. style Italian food. I always enjoy the veal parmigiana. The garlic rolls are profoundly garlicky (which I love) and deliciously buttery. Have always been pleased with the soups, though not blown away. And I find the cannoli to be average - a bit too soggy. On my most recent trip, I had a couple of fried calamari. Wow. These were just perfectly flavorful and perfectly fried. Great taste and texture. I think I might have to switch up my standard order now. A brief note - I've never tried the pizza here, so have no opinion on it. This place is slammed at 7, empty by 8:30.

Have eaten here in the past and food usually pretty good. This time we just stopped in late for a large pizza with mushroom(s) topping. Pizza was very good, not great. Skimped on the mushroom topping. I think if topping was more generous probably would have given them 4 stars. Service was fine. Still alot better than your typical chain pizza.

Ordered pizza for a party and my guests loved the pizza. It was a big hit and my fiancées family also approve and they are NY Italian so they would def be the biggest critics! Lol

Really good take out NY style Italian. Have picked up from here many times, never dined in so no review on table service. The Pizza is above average (which is good for this area). The red sauce italian entrees are top notch for the price. Tender veal and chicken in the various dishes. Especially for veal that is not so usual around here. They have a very good vodka sauce. The gnocchi are the best in south florida (not on the menu but always available).... They are a bit brash, but really its just part of the charm if you are looking for real italian (never mean or nasty, just trying to be funny). After all the italian i have sampled in 2 years in this area, this is the most consistent and best. Others may have a special dish that is better but overall this is the winner.

My inlaws made reservation for a party 8, over two weeks ago they requested a specific round table . We arrive at 5:45 and our table was given to another party, then we were toad the party at our table was refusing to leave, we then were given the most awful table at the front of the restaurant, every time the door open the sun hit us in the face The lies continued management came out and told us the people at our reserved round table was not available due to they had a reservation and had come in late The lies were so many I don't have the time to write them, they are all too stupid The food was not that great, I felt it was pricey The service was slow, the waitress tried hard but also lied Bottom line everyone in this place lies I would never come back again!

Ok wait staff, though one of the guys behind the counter has a sarcastic sense of humor that probably will only appeal to the older crowd (maybe). Specifically, they store all the walkers/wheelchairs right by the door making the entrance into the dining area very narrow. I tripped over one of them which lead to a loud joke about whether I personally need one followed by a "you mad bro?" Not acceptable Decently decorated modern decor. Pizza was probably a 5.5/10. The crust was thick and doughy but the cheese had an odd odor/taste. Wasn't a bad odor/taste but wasn't what I'd expect from a classic italian eatery. Large cheese pizza was $15.95 which is incredibly pricey for the area/reality. Average for the area is about $12. Take the price and the taste and put them together to equal a subpar pizza experience. Nothing about this place screamed unique or different Not a good enough experience to get me to return.

I've been looking for NYC pizza down here in Florida for 14 years and I just hit the jackpot!!!! The owners are incredibly sweet and the ingredients are top notch!!!!

I've been coming here with family for many years. It's hard to find good Italian outside of NY, but here they truly capture both the tastes and the atmosphere of a New York red sauce joint. The food is uniformly excellent, and the service usually quite good. The early bird (usually the bane of visiting grandchildren across South Florida) comes with healthy-sized portions, delicious garlic rolls, soup/salad, coffee and dessert. Highly recommend the veal and eggplant.

We are surrounded by crappy "pizza joints". I'm so glad we decided to try Ny style pizza. There pizza was so good, not to greasy ( hey, alittle grease is good;), and we also got there garlic rolls.....yummo!

Went to New York style pizza tonight for Father's Day the service was a disaster waited 25 minutes for an ice tea and an hour for the salad to come. The Servers had no idea as to the ingredients of the food for I have allergies and had absolutely no experience and what they were doing . It was ice cold and overpriced. I was overcharged for my check. When I call the owner to make good for the amount he yelled and screamed at me that I ate my food and should be happy.Server over charged me $9.00 for a side of spaghetti that was supposed to come with the dinner and then I was told it was extra. When it clearly says on the menu at the early bird comes with soup and pasta. Save your money! There are plenty of good Italian restaurants around to not waste $18 for lasagna.better luck next time.

They're not listed on the menu but they serve the best Gnochhi I have ever had! Super soft pillows of goodness blended with their excellent marinara sauce. Grilled octopus app was tender and delicious. Everyone was happy with their meals and the left overs were gobbled up the next day. Service was great again. I will always come back to this place! Too bad it's the "in season" for us as too many snowbirds know about this restaurant....Thank you and keep up the great work!

Don't go there!!!! They take "reservations" but they don't respect them. They put walk-ups before reservations. If you want to see how not to run a business, go study this one!

Delicious food and awesome customer service! We got a calzone, ceaser salad and garlic knots. It was so much food we could barely finish half of it, which is great because it fed us for another meal! The calzone was delicious and absolutely no grease! The ceaser salad was really good, the dressing was spot on and homemade croutons. The garlic knots were big, soft and garlicky! When I picked up the food, the staff was so friendly and made me feel like I was family. I really liked that. Perfect meal!

Been here a couple of times for business related items so unfortunately my favorite dining partner hasn't been there. This is FANTASTIC FOOD!!! The services is amazing. The portions are gigantic and the owners are wonderful. You will not leave hungry. GO GO GO.

Being new to the area & away from mom's authentic Italian cooking, I was curious about what the local Italian restaurants has to offer. It didn't take much to convince my wife to join me since she too fancies great Italian cuisine. We were greeted with warm smiles & friendly hellos. Only a few minutes wait for our table. Atmosphere was ok, tables seem too close to each other. Very friendly wait & bus staff. Now for the food... We ordered the fried calamari for an app which was cooked very well with some delicious garlic rolls. My wife then had the lasagna which came with a soup or salad, she choose the caesar. I had the chicken marsala with pasta fagioli. My wife enjoyed her salad, I didn't think much of my soup. It came in a small bowl & was almost room temp. She then took one bite of her lasagna & quickly wanted to spit it out. I had a small bite & I'm not exaggerating when I say this, it taste like I had a mouth full of salt. We told the server to take back the lasagna which he did, but brought it right back saying it must of been the fact that she asked for extra cheese on top. We let him know we weren't pleased. Now I'm eating my meal while my wife has to sit there & watch. By the way, the chicken was rubbery & the sauce was too thick & bland. When we got the check, the server said they took off the lasagna but charged us full price on the salad. The table next to us had an issue with their meal which was replaced with another & NO CHARGE. I guess you need to be 65 or over to get treated better around here. You're not fooling this Italian, never coming back.

Very disappointed after reading the reviews. My husband and I went there ordered a Cesar salad for 1 which was nice and big enough for us to share. We also ordered a Sicilian pie. The pizza looked good, had a lot of sauce on the top but was sparse with the mozzarella cheese in places where there was only sauce and no cheese. I took one bite and it tasted very doughy. When we looked closer, we realized it was still raw. The dough was simply very heavy and just too thick. They offered to put it back in the oven, but it was still not cooked through. They were polite, and apologized several times. Unfortunately it's not something we will go back for.

Haven't been here yet, but I will give it 5 stars for having an owner willing to stand up for his hard working wait staff and chew out a paying customer for not tipping adequately. To the man who complained about how his mother was treated, I suggest he spend some time teaching her how to treat working people rather than writing a disparaging review about a decent boss. Will add to this review after I try a pie this week.

Salad portion was generous and the pizzas (white and cheese) were pretty good. Our waitress Santina was very attentive and helpful. The place was clean and nicely decorated. I think the food could be a bit better, but I'd come here again. Also, note that maps show this place on Lake Worth Blvd, but it's actually located next to Marshalls.

We went to this location twice while on vacation with my mother in Lake Worth. While the food is pretty good, the service is really spotty. While I have nothing but good things to say about the bus staff, the ownership and the wait staff clearly feel very entitled, as if they are doing you a favor by allowing you into their restaurant. BE VERY CAREFUL when reviewing your bill. With two children and three adults our our waitress Santina decided (at her option) to include a $30 tip. The interesting part is that we had been there two days earlier and the tip had not been included! My mother went to the owner to challenge the inclusion and was incensed at the brazenness of the waitress to automatically include this tip without any forewarning. She told him that she didn't appreciate in the least and reduced the tip to $15. Santina took it upon herself to storm over and ask us why we felt it was OK to pay her less than she felt she deserved. Clearly she was trying to contain her anger, but it wasn't working. While my mom very much held her own, in a community of older retired people - I can see more timid patrons simply caving in to their exorbitant tipping demand. In summary, while the food was good, the service experience left us feeling bullied and ripped off. We will not be back. It's clear why you can ALWAYS find a table at this restaurant.

This place is great! We have been going to this restaurant for over 1 1/2 years now and it's our go,to Italian restaurant. We are originally from New York - that has the best PIZZA and this place is a very close to the that NY pizza. The prices are good and the wait staff is very good. The owners are the nicest people and if you don't go to them with an attitude you will get great service. Please remember that the wait staff are people that need to earn a living. Please remember to tip and respect them.

We eat here all the time. The staff knows us and there is the feel of a family Italian restaurant. Sometimes it's crowded, but what place isn't during the season. We haven't had to wait long, even on New Year's Eve when we showed up with family and no reservation. All the food is good. The fish in s exceptional.

Be careful of double billing. Went with another couple. They double billed my credit card. I found this out by checking my Amex bill which arrived 3 weeks later. I called the restaurant and was told to be bring in receipt and they might be able to see if I was wrong. I told them I did not save my receipt and the answer was....no receipt...no solution. Food is average at best. I can certainly find another place. Very unprofessional. I now know to save my receipt. Very disappointed .

This place has to be my top 4 italian restaurants that I have ever been too. Everything I mean everything was fresh and great. I had the veal florentine and it was amazing. I also tried the eggplant and lasagna which was great. You will not be disappointed.

Just going to post my entire experience, walk in, I first notice the hostess. Greets my girlfriend and I while she is being yelled at by it looked like the manager own. Dropped a star right there. Was sat at a table right away, looked around, decor was out dated, old school italian, place mates were made of paper, and things on the walls seemed out of place. Server greets us at the table and seemed night. We ordered a half pepperoni, half cheese pizza. Took about 25 minutes and was served by a bus boy. Pizza was bland, greasy, and lacked sauce which i must add wasn't that Italian restaurant "Our sauce is the best in town!" kind of sauce I was looking for. All I enjoyed about it was the crust and how much pizza there was. After eating expected the server to come by and check on us, no sight of her, actually didn't stop by our table for the rest of our visit. Waiting for our check after asking a bus boy for it, noticed how unorganized the staff work, they had to bring the manager out the wait on tables plus a cook to help. I could go on and on about how i will never come back to this restaurant again but Ive gone on enough. Ive had better dinning experiences at Denny's.

Simply put, this is some of the best NY style pizza in Palm Beach county. I'm a little surprised at the negative reviews because I've never had a bad experience here and the pizza has never disappointed once over a period of years. Their pizza is easily the best in the area, better than NYPD II, Nola's, Alberto's, etc. Last time I was there I had a large pepperoni and spinach, and it was outstanding.

The name of this place and the pizza itself has nothing to do with the real New York pizza! It was even worse of my expectations:(( The pizza in New york is something unique:) So if you go there expecting to eat something similar to New York style pizza just do not be upset haha...

We recently were visiting my in-laws in FL and actually ate here twice. The first time was the day we flew in. We arrived to FL in the early afternoon and stopped to have lunch at a local place around 2PM after they picked us up at the airport. That night around 7 we decied to go have a lighter meal and the 4 of us went to New York Style Pizza & Restaurant and shared a pizza. The pizza was pretty good, definately came out hot and fresh and on the level with what we would expect and get here in NJ. The second time was a few days later and we came back to have dinner. This place was packed even on a week night, which says alot. The wait staff remembered us from a few nights earlier and happy to see us again. When you order a meal they serve garlic rolls, which we ordered some without garlic and the rest with, but no cheese. These hot delights didn't last long at our table and the waiter brought us some more quickly I had the Chicken Francaise, my wife had Chicken Florentine ,Mother-in-law had Chicken New York Style, and my Father in law had Spegetthi wih meat sauce. All agreed their meals were good. The Chicken Francaise was 2 large peices cooked properly and served over linguine, as I ordered it. Only 2 cons: I usually order my drink with no ice. It usually comes out of the fountain cold anyway and I often find places fill the cup with ice and you get about 1/2 a glass of actual drink. I did the same here and the soda was warm. Not sure why, but I had to ask for a cup of ice. On the second visit, just ordered it with ice to start with. Second con was the prices: The food is good, but living in NJ we have half a dozen places near us on the same level in quality. I origially wanted my old stand by- Shrimp Scampi, but it's $20.95. Usually, here the same dish is around $15. The Chicken Francaise I have at home is also around $14. it was closer to $18 here. Maybe lack of competition causes higher prices and these prices are definately not hurting business, as I already mentioned the place was busy, but I was surprised by them.

My husband and his family had gone to this restaurant a lot when he was a child so we decided that we'd give it a try a few weeks ago. I am always up for some great Italian food, and being married to a Sicilian I feel like I know good Italian when I taste it. That being said, I was not impressed at all with this place. So unimpressed in fact that I will never go back. Our waiter was sort of spastic, darting all over the place and forgetting our drinks and such constantly, that sort of thing. It seemed that we waited a really long time for our food to come out, but I will admit that they were pretty full while we were there. Even so, when the food did come out it was less than stellar. My husband ordered the chicken Marsala and I opted for the Lasagna. His entree was bland, almost tasteless but the chicken was tender enough. As for mine, it was as close to terrible as I've ever tried. It wasn't hot all the way through to start with and if that wasn't bad enough, it tasted so salty that I couldn't eat it. When I informed the spastic waiter that it was far to salty to eat he argued with me for several minutes in an attempt to convince me that it was because I added the grated Parmesan cheese. Well, doesn't everyone add the cheese when the pasta comes to the table? Isn't that why the cheese is on the table to begin with? Seeing that I wasn't going to make any progress with him my husband jumped in and calmly asked him to take the dish back and remove it from our check as I hadn't even taken a second bite out of it. With an obvious attitude the waiter disappeared into the kitchen only to reemerge several minutes later to tell us that the owner said it was my fault that the Lasagna became so salty, due to my addition of the Parmesan, and that they would not be removing the cost of the dish from our check so I'd better choose another item. Needless to say we became absolutely incensed at the treatment that we received and when the situation had escalated to us approaching management, we were given half off the offending item. Realizing that it was pointless to argue any further, we paid our check and left never to return. Aside from the ridiculous treatment we received, the food wasn't worth it anyway, if you have a choice, pass on this place. There are far better restaurants a little further down the road.

First time here on the recommendation of a friend. Ordered the New York Style pizza (thin and crispy) with cheese and fresh basil. The service was quick and friendly and our pizza was out luckily split. It was excellent, although I'm not a pizza snob and like most everything. The basil was plentiful and fresh, the crust was crispy and tasty but not dry. I'm a little sad I didn't order the pasta; all the other patrons did and I had a twinge of food envy. Next time! We will be back.

My wife wanted pizza which is almost a miracle. We tried this place for the first time. The pizza was thin crisp with sweet tomato sauce quality cheese fresh mushrooms and eggplant. I know eggplant but it was a compromise. The pizza was one of the best we have had. Cesar salad for one was enough for two. Service was thorough and friendly with just a touch of Brooklyn bust your chops. It was like home. The people around us got very large entrees that looked really good. Next time and there will be a next time.

Great pizza! Good service! Courteous waitstaff! It's nice to know that there is a good pizza place in Florida when we're vacationing from Chicago and are hankering a slice!

This is a very popular place in an area with not many decent restaurants so it is pretty packed during the season in S. FL. The food here is not bad. The pizza is actually quite good... however, the owner is a total jackass. My parent have been coming here for years. They know the owner (Sal) and he still treats them (and I suspect many other customers) like shit. On a recent visit, where we had crap service and were made to wait 15 minutes for our bill, Sal had the nerve to accost my Mom on the way out and and yell at her for undertipping. What? First of all my Mom is not cheap, and second of all, where does he get the nerve to yell at a nice older lady? and thrid of all, what business is it of his that my Mom gave a bad tip or a good tip? Sal can kiss my ass until the end of time. This was also not the first run in my parents had with him. On another visit, my Mom sent back her dish and he would not take it off the bill because he said there was nothing wrong with it. He needs to learn how to run a restaurant and not insult his customers. I've never heard such a thing.. the owner berating his customers. My parents arent coming back here, I am not coming back here, and our friends are not coming back here. We can go to many other places and not get abused by the owner.... have a nice life you doosh bag.!!!

This joint is a long time favorite of my grandparents, who were native New Yorkers. I always insist on eating here when I visit. Standard Italian-American fare, but done right. I usually get the chicken or shrimp Parmesan; my brother always gets the chicken caccitaore. The garlic rolls are to die for. So much butter/olive oil that you can squeeze it out of them, which is no doubt why they're so good.

You wouldn't know it from the view in the parking lot but this is a nice little italian restuarant. Pretty lights inside wrapped around brick awnings inside. BEST garlic rolls EVER. The wait staff are friendly and helpful. It was extremely packed on an early Friday night but that's a GOOD sign.

Good quality food with excellent service. Everything tasted fresh and the wait staff was attentive. The owner was extremely friendly and especially good with kids. Prices are a little too high in my opinion but overall a great place to eat in an area with not so good food.

You know when you been to a place so much the owners and staff get to know your name and what you like to order? Well this place is like that. The food is terrific, the servers are great. The owner comes by your table to make sure your party is happy. Our favorite pizza is the Fresh Tomato, Fresh Garlic, basil and Fresh Mozzerella (The Margherita, as I call it) My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Whenever I travel to visit my in-laws, this is one of our "must do's" We have been coming here every year for the past 7 or 8 years. We have never had a bad meal and the service has always been really good. Coming from the New York area I'm very impressed with their pizza. They could compete with the best up north. This evening we had the pizza with black olives and eggplant. We started off with the Anti-pasta for 2 and it could have fed 4. Tasty and large. The staff is warm and all thank you on the way out. They are doing something right because they have been there a long time. Can't wait to come back again in 6 months.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
