Being Vietnamese myself, this is still the best Vietnamese food that Gainesville has to offer. With the fact that Southeastern Asian culture is not very present in Gainesville, this place is a gem. Really can't go wrong with any dish. Very cordial and polite waiters. Owners are humble and always thankful for your business. Good food at a reasonable price. Maybe add some more awesome dishes to the menu as permanent mainstays such as Bun Bo Hue or Banh Mi Bo Kho. Current favorites are the rice combination or the Pho Dac Biet. This place is definitely on par with Vietnamese restaurants in bigger cities such as Orlando, which has a gigantic Vietnamese community (Colonial Rd) and a plethora of Vietnamese restaurants. Good food takes time, don't be in a rush. It's not Fast Food.

A lot of people might pass it by because it looks like a hole in the wall, but it offers some of the best Vietnamese food I've had in Gainesville. Their banh mi (a Vietnamese sandwich which includes a choice of meat, cucumbers, pickled daikon, cilantro, & etc) is really affordable compared to the one at pho Hanoi & it tastes great. The bread has a crunch on the outside & is soft on the inside, and pickled daikon in combination with the flavor of the meat are perfect together. I've also had their pho (Vietnamese noodle soup usually made from beef broth) is great when you feel like you're coming down with a cold (it really soothes your throat) or if you're hangover lol. Their bun (vermicelli noodles) comes with a really good fish sauce used to mix your noodles, meat, & veggies with. Get it with the egg roll, it's the best! If you're looking for an appetizer, try the spring rolls. It's packed with a lot of meat, shrimp, and vegetables, it's so huge! And the peanut sauce you are given to dip it in is really addicting. Definitely recommend!

Description: Truth be told, I came to Faith Vietnamese because I saw a facebook post on my newsfeed about decently priced pho in Gainesville. If you've been here long enough, you know that good Vietnamese cuisine is lacking in this town. Put two and two together, I had to give it a try. Food & Service: The ambiance was very typical of other Vietnamese restaurants I have been to. While nothing exceptional stood out, the place was clean and well maintained. My server was a chill guy in his twenties and was very kind and attentive. I ordered the large steak brisket pho and added a Vietnamese coffee to reach the $10.00 card minimum. I thought the broth was tasty and well seasoned, better than a lot of places actually. The toppings on the side were fresh. You would think that's standard but you'd be surprised. The meat though was a little underwhelming, kind of dry and lacking flavor. Also, the "large" portion wasn't very large as compared to past restaurants but for the price it was reasonable. The Vietnamese coffee was good but a little too much condensed milk and on the expensive side. Final Thoughts: All in all, I'll be back! For my first time, I had a very enjoyable experience. You can't beat the price of the pho anywhere in Gainesville and the staff was very friendly.

I heard from quite a few friends how great this place was, so I decided to try it during my visit to Gainesville. And boy, did they not disappoint! The food was fresh and authentic and the price is pretty inexpensive comparing to other Viet restaurants. My friend and I ordered shrimp spring rolls, which came with peanut sauce, Beef pho and a beef and shrimp noodle bowl with an egg roll. The broth in the beef pho was flavorful, but not too salty. The server told us that they prepare the broth all night, so it is fresh and flavorful. The beef and shrimp noodle bowl with the egg roll was perfect for lunch. I loved how everything was prepared, with the vegetables at the bottom, the noodles in the middle, and the protein and egg roll at the top. Everything came quickly and our server, Paul, was very friendly and personable. This place is pretty close to campus (by Body Tech) and the the atmosphere was chill and relaxing. I really enjoyed that they were playing The Beatles instead of Top 40 music. I wish Faith was here when I was in undergrad! This place is amazing and I will be coming back with my parents to try!

Great food, with great quantity at low prices. Very authentic. I had the spicy chicken noodle soup, and it was amazing. The staff are very friendly. Just make sure to carry cash since they don't accept credit cards, but at these low prices you don't have to carry much money. BTW, they put Sriracha sauce in the red bottles on each table (besides Soy sauce and Schezwan sauce), don't mistake it for ketchup!

Went to Faith tonight for an evening meal with a group of friends I go out with every Wednesday evening. We have recently begun exploring different locations around town, and I had been to Faith the week before and thought it excellent then, so figured it was worth a shot with the group. We ordered a variety of items, and everyone enjoyed what they had. Great food, and the service is good as well.

I was looking for a place to bring my family for lunch and Faith Vietnamese did not disappoint. The quality of the food was good. I had a bowl of steak and brisket pho and was also able to try the one of the bahn mi sandwiches. Both were fantastic.

I'm a picky about pho. If you've never had it before, this is worth eating. Pros: Good broth, good salad for the pho. The Banh mi was tasty and greasy too. Cons: I feel like I've gotten more pho for my money in other places, but this wasn't bad.

Faith is a welcome addition to Gainesville. The food is authentic, and might even be the best in Vietnamese food in the city right now. The meat to noodle ratio in their noodle dishes is generous. The prices are great, and on par with Orlando prices for Vietnamese food. Highly recommend this place! The only downside is the service can be slow at times, due to the limited space and employees.

I have never had Vietnamese food in Gainesville before but I had been told that Faith was the best in town and they were right! After we were seated the owner, a sweet Vietnamese woman named Minh came to our table and introduced herself. My waiter was a very nice, enthusiastic, young Filipino man named Jordan, who recommended some very tasty dishes and provided excellent service. I will definitely be coming back, the dishes were very affordable and portions generous enough I was able to enjoy leftovers later in the evening. Five stars keep it up, I will be back soon!

This place is pretty amazing! Their beef phô (which they call 'soup steak' sometimes) has a distinctive, rich flavor, a perfect blend of sweet and salty broth. And their Bahn Mi sandwiches are so decadent- most places I've tried bahn mi sandwiches at other restaurants that used mayonnaise on their French baguettes! This place doesn't! Their tofu Bahn Mi uses this DELICIOUS red spicy sauce and their chicken Bahn Mi uses a kind of peanut sauce, we usually have it the standard spicy way but you can request less spicy easily. I cannot say enough about Jordan, their really hospitable and gregarious waiter who really makes each experience at the restaurant pleasurable! You won't be disappointed- go try the place!

Faith Vietnamese went into a space where Saigon Legend had moved when it left its previous quarters further up University Avenue but it seems the owners are brand new and they've renovated as well, painting the interior a pleasing light blue, hanging oriental lanterns and overall making the most of what honestly is an imperfect space. Still, the space works for a small, humble, yet serious-about-its-food restaurant. The deep dark browns which accent the sky blue walls are a nice touch but they tend to leave the lights off if they have ample sunlight (which isn't quite ample) and during the afternoon, a bit more light inside would be nice. The menu is not extensive but includes most of the famous favorites of Viet cuisine: pho, bún (noodle salad bowl) dishes, and others plus spring and summer rolls in the Viet tradition. I ordered the fried spring rolls which came (surprisingly!) with potatoes in them but were crisp and good. For the main dish, though, I ordered a bún bowl with beef. When it first was brought out, it contained tofu instead of beef but the waiter apologized for the mistake and took it back, then the owner/chef appeared and confirmed I wanted beef and apologized for the mistake several times over. It wasn't a big deal: the waiter somehow misunderstood me. No worries, and they did have the beef bún out very promptly. The bún was exceptional: beef ground in a way that added texture and richly flavored with spices and curry, fresh onions, cucumbers and lettuce, all over an ample amount of bún noodles. The addition of curry flavoring is rare in American Viet restaurants but common to many traditional southern Viet recipes (I cook a lot of Viet and Thai food at home myself). The way the beef was ground--which differs from how American ground beef is prepared for hamburgers and the like--was authentic and is appropriate because it allows more of the surface area of the meat to make contact with the spices used in cooking. The fish sauce served with it was also prepared in a most authentic manner and they had already on the table Sriracha sauce, hosin sauce, and a house-made hot pepper sauce which was very, very, good and I liked even better than the Sriracha. There was an effort that bespoke both authenticity and real home-cooking in the bún's preparation. Both the waiter and the owner were supremely friendly and nice, eager for people to like their restaurant and food. The level of authentic cooking is very high--even surpassing what I've found in many Viet restaurants in San Francisco and Orlando. The owner's command of English is marginal: if you know Viet (which I can read quite well but alas my diction is lacking, which is a massive problem with such a tonal language) you probably could have an awesome conversation with her though. The waiter who served me is Filipino and speaks perfect English; I tend to think small miscommunications between front of house staff and the owner are the source of what some reviewers have complained of in service, but I did not find a real problem myself. They didn't get my order right at first, but it was very quickly fixed and they apologized: not a problem. They had a classic rock station on their radio which I felt was the only thing they ought to really change: some vong co music would be much better for this setting and the high caliber of authentic Viet food found here. Really a gem in the rough and an unexpected treat.

I have heard so many mixed reviews from so many trusted friends for the past couple of months so I had to eat it for myself. Today, I ordered take-out: the large beef pho noodle soup for $6.95. (The small is $6.25.) Normally, I can make two meals with a large but I'm also paying much more when I do that. Faith's large is the perfect amount for me. I don't mind that they call it a large when it's really not because I'm only paying Six ninety-five! Personally, I don't like too much noodles in my pho. They had the perfect amount. I finished my whole bowl & felt satiated. The pho broth is a little sweeter than my custom, nonetheless it was good. It didn't require too much plum sauce either which is always a good sign. I also ordered the grilled beef, shrimp and spring rolls over vermicelli for $7.95. Very delicious and filling for the price. The beef is a little too thin and the spring roll does not taste meaty enough but again, it's only Seven ninety-five! It's a perfect meal when you want a little bit of everything. While I can not say this is the best Vietnamese food in town, yet as I've only had 2 dishes there, I will note that the Ngoc Mam (fish sauce) is definitely the best and most authentic in town. That little detail speaks volume to me especially when it comes to food. As Mies van der Rohe once said, "God is in the detail." I can't wait to try more of their menu. Also, if you like it spicy, ask for a little bit of the house chili paste and add some to your fish sauce accordingly. I don't like it too spicy as I sweat eating ice cream but theirs is just perfect for my craving. What I can say pho sure is I have Faith in this new Vietnamese restaurant and their prices are beyond Fair! Make sure to park directly in back of the restaurant. It's next door to Flashback and they will tow you if you park there. BTW if you're ever in Orlando, go to Lac Viet Bistro (I wish I were related:) Best Vietnamese restaurant in Central Florida. Their large is generous but you're paying for it. If you want to make two meals out of it. Ask for an extra side of broth which shouldn't be more than $2.

Best Pho in Florida. No question. I love Vietnamese food and always search out new restaurants in my travels. I have to come to Gainesville once a month to bring my dog for treatment at the university. I have eaten in most of the Vietnamese restaurants in the area and this is the best.....hands down. Firstly, the restaurant is very clean and inviting. Secondly, the service is friendly although the owners seem to stay in the kitchen. The menu is authentic and one can easily tell the owners are Vietnamese. Finally, it is VERY affordable! Now for the food....The pho broth was extremely flavorful and the beef was high quality and enough to satisfy. The spring rolls were freshly made and the peanut sauce accompanying them was very excellent. I will be back to try other dishes.

Excellent value here, the grilled pork banh mi and Vietnamese coffee I had was AMAZING. Definitely coming back to eat quality food and save money! Easily the best Vietnamese restaurant I've tried in the Gainesville area. Only thing is, unless you carry cash, they only accept credit if you've spent $10. Service is kind, polite, and very approachable. EDIT: Went here and brought friends another day, this time during a busier hour. Service was less desirable than we'd like and entirely nothing like the first time I went. Food and value was still good though!

Delicious food and wonderful staff. The food came out pretty fast too. I tried the meat combo with rice and loved it. Friends got the curry lamb soup that was a special and they all loved it. Will definitely be back to try some more dishes.

It's not on the menu, but they do indeed have a tofu banh mi, and it is very good.
