Excellent lunch spot. Love that they have lots of options and healthy choices. I had the Thai chicken salad and it was AWESOME! The chicken salad looked excellent, too! I'll try that next time.
Mmmm... What a cute small place. Everyone happy! Great prices! Will go back a second time! I have to bring all my friends with me here they will love it as much as me.
You love yummy salads and staying fit, and now, with the Corner Cafe right around the corner, it's time to put down the peanut butter and jelly sandwich and eat lunch at a place that truly cares about your waistline. Parking here at 11:40am was horrendous. I would come either earlier or later to beat the horrible crowd. Of course we don't eat salads, so my friend got a sandwich and I got a buffalo chicken wrap. But they had mostly salads on the menu and the stuff on other people's plates looked good. My wrap came with two sides and I got egg salad and fruit cup. The egg salad was delicious! The fruit cup kind of had old fruits but I still ate everything anyway. Greedily indiscriminate. I know. The wrap was okay. Kind of small and weird but it was surprisingly good. I was disappointed that the buffalo chicken was cold. I strongly prefer a hot lunch and this place only seems to have cold food. But the food was decent and they recently accept credit cards via an iPad. No receipts though.

Ate here the other day. Had the pho and spring rolls. Really really good! Had a peanut butter and jelly smoothie. It really is a lot better than tropical smoothie. The pho is hot and tasty, the broth is just right in salt and spice. And the spring rolls are hand made and really well made. I strongly recommend this place!
Love there beast mode and the lady is really sweet and awesome. They have so many more things to add. Like wheat grass, probiotics and more if your looking to get more out of your smoothie
Will definitely return, green smoothie was very smooth, texture & flavor was excellent.

So if you want the perfect recipe for the ending of a perfect day please follow the following steps 1. Head to floyd's shrimp house and order the grouper tacos (see my review for said restaurant) 2. Pig out on said tacos 3. Pay for your meal (tip your waiter or waitress) 4. Head to Pino Gelato Cafe At the Beach ( it's right next door) 5. Ask the worker for a butterfingers gelato cone (make sure it's a waffle cone) 6. Pay for your cone and head to the beach (or the nearby Boardwalk ) ((leave them a tip as well) 7. look out onto the vast ocean making sure to breath in deep the fresh ocean air 8. While in process of step 7 start to consume your butterfingers gelato cone 9. Don't not panic if a sense of pleasure and comfort starts to come over you this is merely your being entering a state of Nirvana 10. Once you have come fully enveloped in said state of Nirvana enjoy your gelato cone Pino Gelato Cafe At the Beach is some of the best ice cream I've had and I'm 100% sure that you will feel the same once you've tried it!
Great little shop! Though it seems to have changed its name. It's now Pino Gelato. Wonderful flavors and the staff was very friendly. Haven't had gelato in years and was glad to find one close by.
My favorite dessert place in Destin! We were all here on vacation, and we saw this cute little gelato shop and just had to stop by! They have so many yummy flavors, but the tiramisu and pistachio were my favorites. I miss having great gelato when I was in Europe, and this reminded me of it. I never had a decent one in Atlanta, but this was pretty satisfying. Just come in, grab a gelato, ask for samples to try the flavors, and walk on the boardwalk. The downside it does melt pretty quick :(

Great dive bar!
As far as dive bars go, it's hard to beat this place. It's dark and basic, but the drinks are cheap, the staff is friendly, the bathrooms are shockingly clean, and there are plenty of games to play. Only negative as a nonsmoker is that smoking is allowed and I came out smelling not the greatest.
Awesome dive bar, great atmosphere and cool vibe, only snag is that they pour a Guinness too fast...

I used to live near Carmel California, close to pebble beach just down the road from Monterey Bay and frequented a french bakery that was arguably better than anything I had in France. Until now... This unassuming bakery across the street from a busy shopping center has never been short of amazing. Their pastries are tasty, fresh, baked daily and really, really, ridiculously inexpensive. I guess that's easy to say since I just moved from California where everything is really expensive, but for the quality of product that you receive and for what you pay it's almost like stealing. Almost. My absolute favorite dessert is the black forest cake. Three layers of chocolate heaven with whip cream, chocolate shavings and miniature pieces of fruit on the inside. It's light and fluffy so there's always room for this dessert after a meal if you're a chocolate lover. Speaking of meals this place does have a lunch menu M-F. Not too sure on the hours, so I guess you'll have to check it out for yourself. At the very least, go and have dessert for lunch. You won't regret it.
Went here a long time ago, but never had a chance to put it down. So let's try again! Staff - 5/5: At first, I was low on time and unsure if I wanted to do to-go or sit and enjoy. My server's service and hospitality fixed that. Location- 3/5: Prime location on the cut-off but be careful! Blink and you miss it. Also the parking situation is kind of cramped, especially if you're in bigger car/truck/SUV and its time to go. Then it becomes a slight challenge to leave. Food - 5/5: The chicken salad plate is presented/organized well on a plate. Put it together with fruit and French loaf slices, it's just enough to get you going and not feel guilty (compared to places like Moe's across or the multiple fast food places down the street) Now what caught my attention is the dessert selection. Each one displayed is presented well. I love macarons and am always happy to find places that serve them. The ones made here give what I'm looking for, but I wish there were more flavor choices every now and again. Pricing - 4/5: On my visit, I challenged to see if a lunch meal can be done with less only $10. Combo + drink + small treat = challenge won. However it got really close to the $10 cutoff line. Still not a bad deal if you're a tad short on funds. Overall - 4/5: Good job y'all! Now I've been to France before, and have been seeking somewhere like this.
This is a wonderful lil bakery....we loved and greedily ate everything we got....ham and cheese croissant, guava and cheese pastry, a raisin filled roll? like a cinnamon roll but different.... I agree with others I wish I could eat here each day, so yummy!

I love me some Flip food! Yes, Filipino food - that is! ;D This place brought back some wonderful memories of home without having to break a nail in the kitchen. ;P You know what I'm talking about!... the ol' days when you were young and your parents would cook for you as you helped a lil' bit in the kitchen, but they did the bulk of the cooking. There's nothing like home cooking, right, especially if it's authentic Filipino?! Well, this place might surprise you. LOCATION & PARKING 4/5 The restaurant is off the beaten path, away from the beach, but close enough to drive to if you're vacationing off Okaloosa Island, Fort Walton or Destin. Our GPS led us here without any hiccups. Parking is available right out front and can be tight if you arrive around peak hunger hours. AMBIANCE & SERVICE 5/5 It's not fine dining, but the place is reminiscent of an establishment that invests their time & effort in food preparation and cleanliness - and in the end of my book, that's what brings customers back repeatedly. Upon entry, expect a greeting and smile from the ladies here. If you look Flip, they'll speak to you in Tagalog (or close dialect). Haha. And if you respond in English, they'll still speak to you in Tagalog 8D and question where you're from. It's the norm from my experience. Although my Tagalog is limited as I was born here (don't hate), thankfully, I can still understand, read, and speak w some limitations. The ladies here are super friendly and very accommodating not just to us, but to every single person that walks thru their doors. At times, it got busy, but they won't mind or frown if you helped yourself to the drink machine for the free refills as hubs did. Now to the best part... FOOD 5/5 Boy, I saved my appetite for this place! And what do you know.,,, it's a Filipino buffet @ $10.29/pp! What Flip doesn't like buffets?! While my dad is the king of buffets, I certainly am not. However, this is one place to consider passing up free hotel breakfast to get your fill here during lunchtime. That's exactly what we did! Twice! During our April 2015 R&R off Okaloosa Island, this was the place to visit!! The buffet included but was not limited to the following: Lumpia (pork or veg) w dipping sauce Fried rice Pansit Ribs Caldereta Coconut w pork (not shrimp) Chicken adobo Pork adobo Leche flan Cabbage and cauliflower There were other dishes but these listed were what we went back consistently for. I imagine the dishes served may change from day to day or week to week as any buffet would. Nevertheless, it was all good. Whether it be seconds, thirds, or even fourths, the juicy ribs and Lumpia found their place on my plate, and eventually their home in my tummy. They even had our fav sodas (Mt Dew for me, Dr Pepper for hubs) available. The Lumpias were made similarly to how I make them - Shanghai style - small, thin, and long with all the right secret ingredients to make one come back for more. Delicious! THE CHOCOLATE MEAT 5/5 The two occasions we dined in here for lunch, they didn't have Diniguan (aka chocolate meat) in the buffet. How many of you know it's really not chocolate? Lol. Anywho, the menu on the wall listed Diniguan, so wonder led to inquiry. Sure enough, they serve it occasionally but it's always available for special order. Being that it's my favorite Filipino dish and I haven't made it in probably half a decade (except when I'm back visiting family in northern California), I took a chance and placed a special order without even tasting it. RISK-TAKER! ;D Order was to be ready for pick up on our last day of vacay. Man, I tell you - I should have ordered more! I placed two orders for Diniguan which only cost $12.99 each. We arrived early that Sunday afternoon for our to go order, so we waited patiently. Each were packaged piping hot in 24oz plastic soup containers and sealed w guaranteed deliciousness! 8P The drive home was torture, I tell you. If only I had a side of rice, these babies would not have made it home untouched! Lol. Anywho, we were too tired after the long drive home, so one container went into the freezer, while the other into the frig for the next day. Part of me wondered if what I ordered was going to be mostly liquid, or no meat content, and just a plain big disappointment. Our experience was quite the opposite! The Diniguan was made perfectly w a good kick of hot pepper. Generous portions of pork meat were in each spoonful. We could taste the flavorful ingredients, spices and vinegar that gave this dish and review it's 5 sparkling stars. Lanie's could do well w just dish alone! Hopefully the price won't go up before we return for a larger order. ;D VERDICT 5/5 Let's just say, for each trip we make to the gulf coast, this is the place you just may find us at during lunchtime. We highly recommend this place, especially if you want some homemade authentic Filipino dishes or something different from what's served in the surrounding beach cities. Go there now & enjoy!
What can I say? This is about as close to my mom's cooking as I am going to get and it's pretty damn tasty. I go nearly every Saturday and it's always consistent and never disappoints. It's a about $10 for the buffet, all you can eat with a drink. Not bad considering what you get, and what you can get is A LOT OF FOOD. I am a little embarrassed to say that I don't know the names of all the dishes that are on the buffet line, but they do have several of the filipino staples that many have come to love and enjoy like pancit, lumpia, and chicken and pork adobo. I can't really add much to what everyone else has said about the restaurant other than I think it's better than that other filipino restaurant in Fort Walton Beach. Also, my mom and dad recently visited FWB from out of state and I told my mom about this place. She is very particular with her filipino food and was reluctant at first to try and eat anything but her own food. Well, she went to Lanie's Kitchen and was pleasantly surprised. She went not once, but twice within a week! She loved it and said when she comes back in to town, she will definitely go there again.
So after a long morning of studying in the Fort Walton Beach library, I came to the realization that one of the few restaurants I have been wanting to try was right next door. Sure, I'm by myself and I really don't care. So decided to walk on over to Lanie's. It's a cool little place, nothing fancy. A nice older woman and younger woman were working the floor and greeted me and showed me to a booth. I went to the buffet and put some food on a plate. I honestly didn't know what to expect since this is my first experience with Filipino food. All I can is hot dang! This is amazing food that you can clearly tell is homemade. The seasonings were perfect. Anything I tried was delectable and left me wanting more except that I was stuffed and couldn't eat more unless I wanted to go back and sleep in the library instead of study my life away. Needless to say I had no shame in retuning the next day and the young woman even exclaiming "you're back!" Should you be so surprised? Your food is amazing and the only negative feelings I have towards you are that y'all are currently only open til 3. I simply just told her I live in the library which I hope she didn't take literally but I may have been able to pass seriously by my vagrant appearance. Honestly, give this place a go. And heck take me with you if you do, please :) I mean I am living in the library anyways...
